My family of four had lunch here based on the great reviews. My husband had grouper, Mac n cheese and collard greens. He said it was ok. I had a veggie plate of mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, black eyed peas and collard greens. The veggies were very simple - the black eyed peas were plain and needed more seasoning. There was no likker, just liquid. The same goes for the collard greens. My son got a burger that was charred, bun and burger. My other son got chicken fingers and liked them. The fries were over done and too crispy. The service was pretty slow, especially for drinks.

Great food, excellent service, and a friendly atmosphere. Be sure to save room for dessert! I heard they were famous for their Buttermilk Pie and now I know why.

Love to have a place to eat that that has really good food and a great staff. Everyone was great and the place was full of people having fun and loving life.

I was in Greensboro for work and the team I was working with said I had to join them for lunch at this place. I'm so glad I did! Everything on the menu looked good but I decided on the Fried Green Tomato "BLC" (bacon lettuce cheese) sandwich. It was delicious! The buttermilk pie is what this place is known for (thanks to Carrie Underwood), so I decided to bring a whole one home. It's so good I'm trying not to eat a second piece right now.

Several weeks ago we were driving from Atlanta to Columbia South Carolina and found this charming little restaurant. The food we had was really delicious and the dessert was quite amazing. On our way back to Atlanta we decided to stop and have lunch there again. We had different entrées and a different dessert and again we were very pleased with our food. I am certain that anything you try on this menu will be delicious. To top it all off the staff was very friendly and even the townspeople were quite friendly. If you ever driving through Greensboro, drive a couple of miles off the highway to find this quaint little town and restaurant.

Wonderful place. We will be coming here often. Full bar and southern comfort food. Service was friendly, fast and knowledgeable. After having the country fried steak and fried okra, I'm going to order everything with "fried" in the name.
(5)Joyce D.
This restaurant is what every small town should have. Good food, great staff, fast service, and buttermilk pie. They do an amazing lunch and get you in and out quickly. Atmosphere is fun, all-in-all a great restaurant.

Went here for lunch while working over the weekend at the nearby Ritz Carlton. Amazing lunch! I had country fried fried steak, fried okra, and mac and cheese.... all for under $8 after taxes. Reminded me of Sunday night dinner at my Granny's house. A true Southern delight!
(5)Sheila L.
Cozy and friendly place to get some good southern homemade food. Hamburger steak, macaroni and cheese and cornbread was very good. Buttermilk pie was heavenly. Kid friendly! Polite! $$

what a great place to eat. just stopped here by chance and beat the lunch crowd by a few minutes. we had just sat down when a group of people and in, and the hostess offered us free pie if we would move one table over to accommodate them... we did and had a fantastic lunch of blackened grouper and veggies.... everything was terrific... to top it off, the group we moved for bought our lunch.

This place is awesome. Real Southern sweet tea which made my day. Fried Green Tomatoes are fantastic. The storefront is small and easy to miss on the town strip, but the inside is large and pleasant. Friendly staff a huge plus.

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. Went there for lunch, ordered the special that day which was the black and blue salad. I was underwhelmed by the look of the steak when it came out but all it took was one bite and I changed my mind. The steak was perfectly seasoned and tender, there was a little too much blue cheese sprinkled on the salad but I could pick it off. The dressing was a red pepper dressing with a little kick to it and it was perfect! Had a piece of buttermilk pie after which was tasty (similar to chess pie for those not sure). It seems that the name "buttermilk"pie turns a lot of people off to this delicious desert.

This cute little café on Main St. was a great place to refuel on my way back to Atlanta. As a family-run business, their attention to detail is obvious and they strive hard to provide good food in a pleasant atmosphere. The menu is pretty basic without any real surprises. You know the schtick, because you've seen it a hundred times before. Fried green tomatoes, fried dill pickles, onion rings and fried mozzarella cheese make up about half the appetizers. There are also the requisite salads, sandwiches and burgers, plus a handful of blue plate specials. I grabbed the Chopped Steak and Gravy blue plate with slaw and black-eyed peas and it hit the spot. Maybe I hadn't had gravy in a while, but boy was it good. The homey feel felt like stepping into Mayberry and having lunch with Aunt Bea. They did themselves proud by serving up a delicious meal. One neat touch was a journal in the booth where customers could write a message, usually extolling the delicious food. I lost track of how many times someone raved about the buttermilk pie, so of course I felt obliged to try a piece. It was just okay, not because it wasn't wonderful, but because I'm probably never going to be a huge fan of buttermilk pie. Whether you're visiting nearby Lake Oconee, antiquing in Greensboro or taking in a little history in nearby Washington, if you find yourself in the area, stop in for a meal you'll enjoy.

I stopped here on my way to Atlanta from South Carolina and was quite impressed. The cafe is quaint and in a small town. I decided that this was my chance to finally try shrimp and grits and whatever southern dish came with it. The waitress was very friendly and recommended fried okra as a side and fried green tomatoes for appetizer. Everything was delicious! My only complaint is that it is a bit pricey and the portions were small (at least for a hungry person like me). Overall, I would definitely be back and stop here when traveling through Greensboro.

The Yesterday Cafe was pretty good! It's a smallish quaint little country cafe type of restaurant. I ordered the friend pork chops with mac n cheese & fried okra as my sides. The dish was ok, nothing to call home about and I've had better country cooking. The corn bread on the other hand was really good. We ordered the buttermilk pie afterwards..which was ok as well. Idk, I guess I was expecting more from it...and the piece was really small. The service was fantastic! And the prices are affordable. I would defiantly go back

Best little detour that I made on my drive from Augusta to Atlanta. Only came in for coffee and dessert and ended up having two slices of their buttermilk pie :) Worth getting off the freeway and passing all the the McDonald's, Wendy's, etc.
(5)Dennis W.
Great little jewel about 3 miles off the interstate. Worth the short drive. Had the hamburger and asked for blue cheese to be added, and they accommodated. Very friendly service. Pretty small town setting on main street. Very reasonable. Would visit again.

My husband and I live in Central FL but have a home and property in Woodville/Union Point, GA. We love driving into Greensboro, GA and eating at the Yesterday Cafe! Great home cooked style meals, three times a day!

This is a "pull off I20" good. It's a must stop. It's a little piece of good southern food that you cannot miss. It's a "plan your road trip around the hours of this restaurant" good. We found this little gem while driving from North Carolina's Outer Banks to Austin, Texas. It's only about 3 miles off of I20. Now hold off on any complaints--you won't want to miss this. It's in a sweet little historic town with a cute Main Street and shops. Getting my Type A husband to drive 3 miles off of i20 wasn't an easy task but after his Fish Po Boy and the Buttermilk Pie, he was quite happy. Admittedly we got our lunch to go--you know styrofoam containers, but who cares! My husband was happy and all those in the car as well! I'm a sucker for Fried Green Tomatoes so I ordered the sandwich that came with a tasty horseradish sauce. Slam dunk. Loved it! My youngest daughter ordered the chicken salad sandwich and as I was distributing the food in the car I took a bite--it was excellent! One of those fresh, refreshing kind of sandwiches that can be a hit or miss--it was a hit. Everyone would order exactly what they ordered again. Oh, skip the fries and get the cole slaw--it's delicious. We would also order 1 piece of Buttermilk Pie per person. So worth the calories. It would be pretty cool to find a place in Austin that makes Buttermilk Pie. I think I have a new epicurean task!

Excellent choices, price, ambiance, service. Can't wait to return. Salmon was excellent.

Stumbled upon this place on a road trip. Quaint little town and had a great meal.Good southern food all the way around! Fried green tomatoes for starters was very good. Blackened fish poboy, yummy. Both the chocolate pie & the buttermilk pie a must! Friendly service and nice atmosphere!
(5)David B.
Charming Ambience! I had the Black and Blue Salad - loved it. MY waitress was Kailey, real sweet. Some girl was working there with a broken arm in a pink cast. Try the Black Forest Walnut Chocolate Pie.
(4)Philip M.
Consistently delicious. Great staff and wonderful little downtown restaurant with a range of shopping right down the street. Blue plate specials are all good, portions reasonable, and overall good value. Fried grouper wonderful, trying blackened today. Save room for their renowned buttermilk pie, can be shared as it is Fort Knox rich. A must try, even if your are on I20 and looking for a great food memory.
