I hate to rate a place like this and usually don't, but we had an unusually good waiter! Edwin was fantastic and very accommodating. We had a few unusual requests and Edwin took care of everything!!

Was hesitant to try this Cracker Barrel after reading the mixed reviews, but we had a great experience. It was extremely busy, Sunday at lunch time, the staff handled the crowd very well. Our waitress was excellent, and the food was very tasty. Don't let the few bad reviews keep you from trying this Cracker Barrel. Highly recommended!

Came here last night, normally I don't go to cracker barrel a lot(probably my 3rd time) but it was a surprising experience. The food wasn't too bad, could use a little bit more seasoning but what made our trip great was our server Kristen.s was such a sweetheart to us, she was really attentive and took really good care of us.

I am really frustrated at this place right now. I guess all the black employees have a slave mentality because me and my fiancee have been here for over 20 minutes without anyone asking for our drink order or anything. Subsequently, we just watched a group of white people come in and get served immediately. if I wasn't so hungry I would get up and leave right now. The the waiter, Edwin, had horrible customer service. If he brings my order out and anything is wrong, I'm getting up and walking out!.......UPDATE: second set of silverware was dirtier that the first set and my plate of pa cakes had grits and dried grease residue on it. We left.

I was skeptical about this one but we went and , let me tell you, top, one of the best Cracker Barrels we have been at! Great food delicious!!!

Yuck yuck yuck the horrible chicken fried steak it was sooooooo dry and tough. My waitress asked how it was and I told her that it was the driest flavorless chicken fried steak I ever had she laughed and walked away. No sorry no can I get you something else. Just one more restaurant I won't be going to again

Stopped by for a late breakfast with my family of 5. We were promptly seated although the restaurant was crowded. It took 15 mins for us to get drinks. After several conversations with the wait staff we got our food after 30 mins. Very disappointed in the service. The food was okay. We won't be back.

Our service was great and our meal was also very good. I have noticed that portions are quite a bit smaller than usual. Store was very clean and employees were very friendly.

Great food for the value. No where else can you get a full course meal for under $9. Great place for family and friends. Breakfast is awesome they have the best pancakes all day and good dinner too

This is a southern chain. It's got a giant knick-knack store in the lobby and grits and biscuits in the kitchen. It's a small step up from a Denny's. They are capable of handling a milk allergy if you don't try for anything fancy.

Down in my neck of the woods is a culinary black hole, where there is pretty much nowhere to eat out from aside from a litany of chain restaurants, Chinese food places that have yet to catch up to modern civilization and actually deliver, fast food joints, and a ton of sketchy independent "restaurants" that look more like fronts for criminal activity than a place that I'd buy seafood from. Often times trying to decide where to get food from results in arguments and exasperation. It's also telling when the opening of the QT on GA-74 resulted in a feeling of excitement as a viable "new" food option. Speaking of the QT on GA-74, it's right next door to that place is where this brand-spanking new Cracker Barrel opened up. Sure it's a chain establishment, and there's actually another one, one exit up from 61 on I-85, but something about not being in Union City that makes this opening of the one in Fairburn seem so magnanimous. It's like that episode of Family Guy where the Griffins were rebuilding society, and Chris tells Peter that they need to not forget to build two Denny's, with one in the bad side of town, so they can drive past it and say "nah, let's go to the other Denny's," and so thus the "other" Cracker Barrel was built. Regardless, Cracker Barrel is a refreshing change from the opening of four new Zaxby's restaurants and Mexican joints, but I will say I'm skeptical to how long the four-star experience I received is going to last. Y'see, I hate to sound pessimistic, but I have to chalk up that the level of service I got was mostly due to the fact that it is such a new place, and with managers and Big Brothers thoroughly watching, everyone was at their best behavior. It was a Monday evening when I went, and even still, the parking lot was completely packed. Being a party of two, we soldered in regardless, thinking "how hard could it be to seat a table of two?" Thankfully, the answer to that question was validated, as we were seated immediately with zero wait, after walking through the gift shop full of typical highway-chintz and UGA and Georgia Tech crap for sale. If you've been to one Cracker Barrel, you've really been to them all. This one was no different than any other one, from the same wooden, dimly-lit decor, to all 25 pieces of flair on the walls, ranging from fake street signs to toboggan sleds for some reason. However, it's the service and food that warrants the four-star rating above anything else, regardless of my skepticism of how long this would last. From the hostesses to the service staff, my entire visit at Cracker Barrel was met with top-notch service. Everyone was friendly, everyone was smiling, polite, and jovial and talkative. They made me feel welcome and looking forward to dining. Cracker Barrel food, despite it being nothing new to anyone who had ever dined at a Cracker Barrel before, compared to all the other options in Fairburn, is probably the same experience as that pretentious Taco Bell commercial where a truckful of Taco Bell is dropped in the middle of Alaska. But it's still awesome food, tastes good, and for the buck, there's not many places you get a better value from. I ordered the meatloaf dinner with mac and cheese, turnip greens and hashbrown casserole. The meatloaf was tender, and had just enough charred edges with tons of flavor. Suffice to say, I ate all of it. The mac and cheese, was the weakest side by virtue that the other two were so good; I would literally order just sides of the hashbrown casserole in the future. And the turnip greens are practically another meat dish with how much chopped pork is amidst the tangy greens. And all of this for under $10. I'm glad this place opened up, and I can only hope that the service stays close to what I experienced, after everything stabilizes and the honeymoon ends. Without any doubt, I'd go back, and it's a wonderful new option that really helps the dearth of dining options in Fairburn.

This restaurant has been open only 10 days, and this is my 3rd visit (2nd review). Obviously I liked it before (a 4 star). Well, tonight, I went back for dinner, and this was a different story. I was seated for about 5 min. before a manager asked me if anyone had taken my drink order, and he took it. Kristin brought iced tea and took the food order, but she never came back around for 30 min. or so. I wouldn't say it was slow on the food (maybe 15 min.), but when your tea glass was empty for 10 min. of that-it seemed like a looong time. I will say that the food (again) was excellent, hot, flavorful (grilled catfish dinner), and the corn bread was better than before. A different server brought the food, and fetched a tea refill. About the time I finished the food, I finished the tea, and waited 14 min. for a manager to see the empty glass, and he fetched the server. She dropped the ticket off when she brought the tea, and I guess she went home, cause I never saw her again. This is a hard rating, I'd honestly give 4.9 for the food, but 0.5 for the service, so I guess that's a 2 star. I will return 1 more time at least, mainly due to the 2 previous good visits.

My husband and I tried to visit here the end of August, but it wasn't open yet. This location opened on 9/3/12, and he visited the next day & he told me the food was awesome, so I wanted to go. We visited Thurs. evening 9/6, at 6:45 pm, not the best timing - this place was packed! We couldn't hardly find a parking space, but amazingly, the wait for a table was only about 1 1/2 minutes. Our server came quickly to get our drink order, and food order was taken quickly, maybe 4 minutes for all of that. Aparently the kitchen was having trouble serving all those people, cause the food was about 40 minutes in coming, that's really VERY slow. The team of servers and "drink-refillers" did a great job, even bringing extra corn bread and biscuits while we waited. I was heading for a 2 rating on service, but the food came - and the food was awesome! You usually can't rave about country cooking, but it was great - everything was hot, and had good taste. I had turkey & dressing, sweet potato casserole, and green beans, my husband had grilled chicken tenders, carrots, and sweet potato casserole, and we shared a little of all of it, and all the food was fantastic. The 5 stars for food averaged with the slow (but attentive) 2-star service - I'll average to 3.4 or so. Perhaps not so busy would be an easy 4 stars. The food (so far) rated 5 stars at this store. Due to the long food wait, we were there for an hour, which was about 20 minutes longer than we wanted to be there. The food makes up for most of the slowness, however.

Several visits here have finished me off for good at this place. The wait staff is untrained and borderline incompetent. The waitress tried three times to seat us and every time the table needed to be cleaned (bused) after third attempt (with 3-5 minute wait between each attempt) we walked out....never to return again!

Best home cooking on the road and the store will entertain your whole family. This particular restaurant has the best staff I've ever seen...from the hostess to the wait staff to the manager (who is right beside them working his tail off). Cracker Barrel Corporation needs to award these folks for their extra effort!

I like Cracker Barrel but this one is poorly managed. I ordered my favorite sandwich, grilled chicken on sourdough. I love this combination of chicken on sourdough and Cracker Barrel makes really good sourdough bread. This time my chicken was served on burnt white bread when it was supposed to be on sourdough. I really think that the cook thought I wouldn't notice that it was not served on sourdough as I was never told there would be a change. When I complained to the waitress she apologized and said it would be corrected. More than 10 minutes later I received 2 pieces of sourdough bread. I had already eaten my chicken by then. I asked to speak to the manager and after my 2nd request to talk to him (another 10 min or so) he was not very apologetic and said that he had taken care of the problem. Otherwise the waitress was nice, the store clean and restrooms were in good shape. Unfortunately the service in this particular store #700 in Fairburn GA is poor.

My first time at Cracker Barrel was in Indiana about a year and a half ago. I was so impressed I made it a point to visit again in Georgia. However... I was disappointed :/ The service was great, they are so nice. Our food came very quickly. I ordered the fried shrimp with baked apples, mashed potatoes w/brown gravy and mac n cheese. The biscuits are good. My shrimp was delicious. but my mac and cheese looked a little burnt and my mashed potatoes were cold :| i was very sad about my meal. My Arnold Palmer was a bit strong but I think its just because the lemonade is very sweet. It was still good. I still enjoy cracker barrel. Its not the best but its ok. I love how they have a little general store attached.

Very disappointed. It took forever to get our food and it was luke warm at best. This is the third time in a row that we have been unhappy with Cracker Barrel. We will make another choice in the future when we are on the road.

Disappointment. Our family lives locally and we enjoy Cracker Barrel at least once a week but the last few months have been a disappointment. 1.5 hours later we get our food this evening. Not particularly busy and no manager in sight . I have eaten my last meal at this location . Sorry folks. We were hoping for consistent. But we got just the opposite

Very disappointing. They ran out of food. We ordered catfish and coleslaw. It took forever for food to arrive and then when it came, they said they ran out of coleslaw. The dinner platter only included one fish fillet. What is the lunch portion then? Then for desert we ordered apple dumpling and they said they ran out. Next time we are going somewhere else.

I called to place a To Go order with "Larry" at your Fairburn, GA location. For some reason, he kept asking me to repeat the spelling of my name - "I-R-I-S". He repeatedly misspelled it when he repeated it to me and would then laugh about it. He was obviously having a side conversation with other employees and unable to focus on me - the customer. Finally, it seemed to click with him. But throughout our conversation, he just kept laughing. By the time he finally took my order correctly, I was 2 mins from the restaurant. I went into the restaurant and paid for my To-Go order (grilled chicken salad). But what I didn't understand is why it took over 30 minutes for the salad to be bagged and given to me? The entire time I was waiting, there were 5-6 young ladies (servers) standing around the hostess podium chatting. Then other customers appeared to place To-Go orders. It took approx. 10 mins before anyone acknowledged them and even one young lady had to get loud and ask if anyone was going to take her order before she received service. To-Go orders are placed because customers have no intention of being at the restaurant for a long period of time - just want to get the food and go! Had I known that it would take over 30 minutes to receive my to go order, I would have called it in when I left work - in LaGrange! I assumed the older gentleman that was there was a manager, but because he wasn't much assistance I didn't bother to ask. He only appeared for a short period, just long enough to joke with the ladies at the podium and talk to the cashiers. Mind you, in order for him to have reached the cashiers, he had to walk past several of us. Clearly, we were waiting on our orders and not one time did he even acknowledge us, not even to say hello, much less ask how could he help us. Unfortunately, I was in a bind and stayed to wait for my food - mainly because I feared that it would take much longer to get a refund than to get the food. This is the 2nd time that I have experienced this. The 1st time, I chalked it up to the inexperience of the servers/cashiers being "rising stars". But now this time - weeks later - I am much less tolerant. I am very dissappointed in the service that I received. Though I enjoy the food, I doubt very seriously if I will return in the near future to this location. It's a shame because this location is around the corner from my house.

Always consistent, have been three or four times since it opened. Yesterday, I had the haddock dinner with mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans and hash brown casserole. Yes, I am a carb addict. The MP's were good but there was a huge back chunk of rotten tater in it. I didn't mention it to the server and the HBC was terribly crusty as if it had been sitting out for a while. Everything else was good. Love the fried okra and biscuits. Also love the breakfast, they make the perfect fried medium eggs in the world.

Everything was giong along somewhat fine during my visit minus the scorched tasting pancakes until I was about to walk out of the door after paying my bill. I had a toddler and two bags in my arms when I had to literally SQUEEZE by two employees that were standing in the passage way to the door chatting it up and holding up Halloween costumes from their own gift shop. I even said excuse me, not one of them acknowledged me or even moved out of my way. Then as they were right in rfont of the door still socializing amongst eachother instead of working, I had to kick the door open with my foot since my arms were full to open the door and exit. Great hospitalityand customer service. What did I get from corporate in response, "we will use this as a training opportunity." You should have trained them before I walked in the door, you just lost a customer.

I'm so happy that they built a Cracker Barrel here. Not only it's good for Peachtree City and Fayetteville. Also It's good that they built one because this exit on I-85 needs a dine in restaurant. This exit has a few hotels, but for food, all there is is McDonalds, Chick-Fil-A, Wendy's, Zaxbys, Waffle House, and Subway. Another thing that is nice is that I'm not too worried about the area this place is in. When the one that used to be open in Union City. I was a little worried because that area is starting to get worse and worse. I like that they built this place south of the interstate, the safer side of the interstate. This place opened on Monday the 3rd and we visited on Thursday the 6th. I would have given this place 5 stars, but because of the service I'm going to stick with 4. It took awhile for the drinks to come out, and we had a few problems with the orders. Although the food was good, so it made up for all the problems we had.I can understand why the service was a little slow because they just opened, and it has been packed every time I have driven past this place, and I've been coming near this place 3 of the its first 5 days. I think the service will get better as the employees get more experience, but either way we will still keep coming back.

We stop at this Cracker Barrel every time we come home from Columbus, GA. It is always good and the wait is never long, the only thing I can complain about are the portions. I ordered the sunrise sampler, which I always order but things seemed smaller. The biscuits, the one piece of bacon and the hash brown casserole were all smaller. I was still able to get full though and that's what matters.
(4)James B.
My thoughts about Cracker Barrel were formerly very good. But lately they have become consistently inconsistent. Some are very good. Others not. This one falls into the latter category. Our waitress took 5 minutes to come get our drink order and then another 5 minutes to bring our drinks to us. We asked for napkins three times, without success. We were told they were out of dumplings and would have to substitute only to later be told by a different server that they were simply cooking. We waited on the dumplings (which turned out to be the best part). The okra was cold and I did not get an order of bacon until the very end of the meal. To top it off, I waited 8 minutes after I had finished eating for the check. They need better service and more consistent food.
