Not sure what all the hype is about. It is mediocre at best. The bacon is so thin you could see through it. The service was slow, which is surprising since there were not many customer there. No one ever came over to ask how we were doing.

This was my first time at this vintage style silver diner. The atmosphere was nice and clean, and the service was prompt and friendly. I sat at the counter and had the two egg breakfast special with sausage patties, hash browns and rye toast. I ordered my eggs over medium, and they were cooked perfectly. Yhe only complaint I would have is that although tasty, the hash browns were a little on the oily side. Next time I'll pay the extra $0.60 for the home fries. Overall this was a very decent breakfast for $10, including a 20% tip.

Service is the only thing about this restaurant that is good. My wife asked for eggs over hard and we had to send them back twice. The hash browns were over fried and too oily. I could barely chew it. The pancakes were dry. The bacon felt like dust in my mouth because it was so thin and over cooked. The lady serving us was kind and so she helped this review. I have worked in the food industry for 10+ years before I worked in the army. This restaurant was clean in the front of the house. The service was good. The owner should consider hiring a better cook or close up shop. If it's not the cook, it's the quality of ingredients. If you're unable to tell the difference, you just don't know good food. Go to the grocery store and buy a pack of good quality thick sliced bacon, fresh potatoes, and make pancakes from a simple scratch recipe. I am new in town so I can't give you a local comparison for "right". The food industry is so hard already and if you can't bring yourself to buy good ingredients or have a good chef just close up shop and save yourself from sinking more money.

Great place for breakfast. Waitresses are friendly and prompt. Food is typical breakfast fare, but great low prices. Pancakes are especially good. Love special #1 that includes eggs, meat, hash browns, and toast. Decorated like an old-time diner, so a fun place to eat!

Meant to check in about my experience this morning getting a to go order but I pressed a few buttons and I don't see my post. Bottom line veteran hospitality is why they got so many stars. They really helped deescalate my frustration. I came back 3 times for the same order, computer declined my card, had to go to the atm next door, went home and forgot my order and homegirl was acting like I'm was trying to get away with 2 free pancakes. Another time my family and I went there I remember not even being serviced. Just not worth it to go back.. Go the extra mile and head to Ruth's

Okay, when I first looked at this place on Yelp, I thought uh-oh maybe we shouldn't try it. Everyone was screaming go to Waffle House instead. Well we decided to give it a try anyways to judge ourselves. I'm so glad we did. We walked in and were greeted nicely and seated. Our waitress was so nice and friendly. Now , onto the food. I guess we came on a good day because it was delicious. The husband has eggs, sausage, hash browns. I had eggs, hash browns, country fried steak. The little one had a pancake and eggs. It was scrumptious! We spent 20$ including tip on our entire breakfast. The interior is a typical 50's theme. We will definitely be back for more breakfast and to try lunch.

The breakfast was a nice step up from the local chain breakfast restaurants. They had full size coffee mugs and a good children's menu. The classic dinner ambiance is a nice touch and they had a good variety of seating options from booth space to bar seating.

We had to wait longer than 4 other parties who ordered after Us For our food. When we did get it we still didn't have silverware or napkins. The food was of low quality-eggs, bacon, biscuit, gravy, oatmeal. The servers were nice to us and they did successful hard boil my wife two eggs. The floors were slippery with some light coat of oil. I had to wait almost 5 minutes to cash out at the register when we were done eating. Never going back there.

If I could give Evans Diner two separate ratings, I'd mark them as a 4 for breakfast and a 2 for any other time. My family does enjoy this place, but it's only for the breakfast menu and the friendly staff. We've always found their meals to be much more reasonably portioned (and priced) than most other breakfast stops, the decor has made it a big hit with the kids, and everyone working the morning shift is wonderful. On the other hand, I've given them multiple tries for lunch, and it's just not worth it. The food is greasy, bland, and not worth what you're paying - you're way better off hitting one of the other nearby restaurants. I'd go so far as to recommend Sonic across the street if you were really craving similar food.

The service was friendly and quick. They kept our drinks full and answered our questions about the menu. I like the diner decor and the feel. It's located off of Washington, which is convenient. Unfortunately, the food wasn't good and the booths were uncomfortable. We went for lunch so perhaps the breakfast is better.

This place has the 40/50's diner exterior with the interior to match. The seats are comfortable and the servers were nice. We decided to come here to have breakfast. The menu's we were handed need to be replaced. They were so beaten and used they just didn't feel clean. Also they silverware is unmatched and odd sizes and old making it again feel unclean even though they were clean. My gf ordered the fried baloney breakfast (that came with eggs, hash browns, toast and fried baloney) and a cup of coffee. I ordered biscuits and gravy (2 biscuits) and a side of sausage with a sweet tea. My gf enjoyed her meal but I was disappointed with mine. I do believe they made the sausage gravy with sausage drippings but I do expect sausage pieces in the gravy of which I couldn't find any pieces. the breakfast tasted fine but they lost a star because the menu and silverware make you feel unclean, and they lose a stare because the food is just ok, and they lose a star because I feel they are pricey. For what we ordered it came to $18 with tip! As much as I like the look/feel there is no way I could ever suggest this place over waffle house other than if waffle house was just that busy and I couldnt wait.

Great, cute little spot for a small breakfast or brunch. The decor is nice and vintage-y feeling and the atmosphere is welcoming. I have had my up and downs with the service. One time I go, I'll get excellent service while next time I'm pretty much ignored. Nonetheless, the breakfast food are delicious. I have tried eating dinner here and was not impressed. I stick to the breakfast menu only. I def suggest giving the biscuits with sausage & gravy a try. The gravy is thick and delectable. It puts Waffle/Huddle House to shame with the gravy! It's my favorite and I'm never disappointed with that choice.

First time here for breakfast. Read all the reviews and most were not kind. I did notice that the tips were overall more positive about food, service, etc. Good was good, timely, and the waitress was very friendly. Decor was interesting and I enjoyed seeing all the old vending machines. Only thing I will say is that some of the booths, blinds, etc are getting old and need a facelift. Well worth trying. I will come back.

I took the family here for breakfast, and I must say this is the only authentic diner experience in the area. They celebrate the idea well with 50's decor. The business was clean for us and our service prompt. We sat in a spacious corner booth and our family had grilled chicken, biscuits, bacon, pancakes and eggs. Everyone was pleased. We had several servers come to our table, so it seems like they really work together as a team. We will definitely go back.

Great little diner for breakfast or brunch My wife and I eat here at least twice a month and we always sit in Yolanda's section. She is probably one of the best waitresses there. I always get breakfast. Most of the wait staff are friendly and nice. There have been a few times that I will have to ask for a refill on my coffee or a straw, but then I just leave less of a tip. This place is not a perfect 10 but it is worth trying out due to the little town/old diner feeling. It would be better if the little jukeboxes on the tables would work though. food quality: diner food, nothing more price is great

I am very disappointed by this place. I guess I should have taken the fact that the place was basically empty during what should have been lunch rush as a sign of what I was in for. The milk I had did not seem to be very cold. The food came out at a pretty good rate, but they burned the crap out of my toast and STILL tried to serve it to me. The ham in the omelet looked and tasted like shredded lunch meat and despite specifically asking for cheddar cheese, I got American. At no point did anyone check on me and while trying to get my check, one of the many waitresses in the restaurant looked RIGHT past me and went to seat the people who had just walked in. Since I had time on my hands waiting for new toast and the check, I had plenty of time to notice how FILTHY the place was! There was lettuce on the floor under me, fries on the floors of the booth, the ice machine up front's door was left open, there were rotten banana's sitting out, and there was a bowl of lemons sitting in the cooler with the saran wrap peeled off (pretty sure that is a health code violation). This was unsurprising given that the insane number of waitresses working at that time spent the entire time I was in there socializing and playing on their phones. Of particular note was the cook who insisted on SHOUTING everything she had to say which got very annoying. I will not be back and wouldn't recommend anyone else trying. There are at least of dozen other restaurants near by that are at a minimum cleaner.

Great breakfast. Friendly staff. Fast service. You are always greeted with a smile and a hearty good morning. I would highly recommend it.

Cool decor. Old Americana feel. Their televisions were set to infomercials. I now know of a breakthrough weight loss remedy. Quick service. The food was below average on taste and insultingly low on quality. I had the patty melt. (Swiss on wheat) Zero flavor. The pre frozen packaged "beef" left me feeling like an elementary school cafeteria patron. At least the frozen shoestring fries were good. Fiancée had the ham and cheese omelet and a small bowl of grits. Real cheddar cheese, thankfully. Salad bar cubed ham, regretfully. She couldn't bring herself to finish it. The kid had a small saucer sized waffle. No fruit. No chocolate chips. Nothing special. $3.30. And a small bowl of grits. Two glasses of water and a glass of milk. Bill : $20 You're better off going to Waffle House. We won't be back.

There were 4 of us that came for dinner on a Saturday night. We were THE only ones in the restaurant the entire time we were there. Sat and ordered. Menu has options and obviously caters to breakfast. All of us ordered breakfast and the food was decent. Comparable to Denny's...... Too oily. As we were paying for our food, the waitress said, 'you probably get this a lot but you look like a skinny snooki.' That's definitely NOT a compliment. I think she just said that because if my skin color. Smh

Service was great! Very friendly. Kept my coffee cup full. I had the philly cheese steak omelet which was very good! My friend enjoyed their French toast. All in all...I would definitely go back!

I have to say, the decor was awesome. My first 50's diner experience and it was legit, from the antique song selectors to the coat hangers at each booth. Pretty cool. The food was actually good. I heard good things about the waffles so I got a pecan waffle, yum. And just to live in the moment me, the wife and kids, we all shared an amazing banana split. Looking at the desserts brought to the other tables, it seems dessert is their specialty. Some real works of art . Nice service. A memorable experience :-)

Party of three for weekday lunch. One ordered breakfast food, eggs with pancakes. Pancakes tasted as if they had been re-heated in a microwave from several hours earlier. Another ordered Chef Salad which consisted of nothing more than iceberg lettuce, carrots and cheddar cheese with a few pieces of chicken. Not a large portion for an entree salad. Third meal was a classic hamburger with fries. The burger meat tasted unusual and appeared to contain a lot of fillers. The fries were average. Also we were subjected to a strong odor of ammonia cleaning products as someone mopped the dining room floor while we were dining. The service was ok but food was below average.

I had a gift certificate and decided to try this place. We each got a different daily special on Wednesday. The meat loaf and country fried steak were both good. The vegetables were home made and delicious. Looking forward to trying their breakfast sometime. Definitely worth trying and the atmosphere was nice.

I'm guessing the only reason no one else has posted a review about this place is because they knew something. I went to the Evans Diner for lunch to find out what that something is. I have always felt that the only thing worse then extremely greasy food is extremely bland/disgusting tasting food. This place qualifies for both. Don't expect the service to be any better. I recommend getting food at any of the number of great restaurants nearby.

Horrific service and food border lining on rotten. Our waitress slapped down our menus without even greeting us and before we even sat down she asked for our drinks. She brought our drinks and asked if we were ready before we even looked at the menu, rushing us constantly. Our burgers were disgusting. They were dripping with grease and they looked like those cheap frozen processed burgers. They had no taste except for a bland frozen freezer taste. We barely ate the food at all. There were flies buzzing around us the entire time. This place is filthy, the staff is rude and unprofessional and the food is disgusting and horrible quality. I should've went to McDonald's. How is this place still open?

Terrible food, terrible service. Burgers are overcooked, the 'homestyle fries' are cooked in cool oil for too long, creating a greasy potato mess. Place needs a good cleaning as well. I swear, this restaurant is a front for a criminal organization. Has been open for years, yet I never see any cars in the parking lot. Cannot understand how they legally turn a profit.

Bland food. This is my fifth visit, I am not going again for the near future. If I do go again, I will only try the breakfast meals!
