We eat here routinely because it is clean and the food is consistently good and the prices are reasonable for a hibachi grill restaurant. I find their sushi to be fresh and tasty as well. My daughter and I always get the Hibachi For Two for $39.95 and it is excellent. It comes with double portions steak, chicken, shrimp and scallops with soups, salads and grilled vegetables and the fried rice is just $1 more (again better prices than most). We have come to love the new hibachi chef JP. He is still learning the craft but, is a great cook and he has a great personality. My only two complaints are they are not staffed adequately for busy nights. They have 8 grills and almost never have more than 3 chefs. That can cause long waits sitting at the grill long after you've finished the soup salad and sushi. The only other complaint is the rainbow sherbet is just not very tasty. I can't explain why but, it tastes strange and powdery. Other than that, we love it and eat here weekly. Definitely the overall best value of all the Japanese Steakhouse in Douglas & Paulding counties.

Well, my friend eats here all the time and wanted to go for her birthday. I nor the other person in our party had ever eaten there. First off they were short staffed...took about 45 min to finally have a cook. When he finally came to table he got a phone call and disappeared for another 5 min. Cooked our food...a bit over seasoned(especially pepper- which I love) When I got home....I almost didn't make it to the restroom. I've had this happen before....but NEVER this bad!! Don't believe I'll ever go back.

Very disappointed. I came here based off the reviews from yelp and clearly they are very deceiving. The food was very over seasoned. The vegetables were chard and had a burnt taste. The sushi was not good at all. The cook was messy and was slinging food everywhere. For the quality of food they serve and the service they provide it was too pricey. I would have been better off driving 45min to eat at RuSan's or Bennihana.

I can't figure out what's wrong with this restaurant. It seems like it would be pretty difficult to screw up a Japanese steakhouse/hibachi style dinner. Yet, this place somehow managed to do so. This must have been a Longhorn's or Outback or something like that in a previous life, because the decor of the restaurant completely does not match the cuisine and ambience you would expect in a Japanese restaurant. Overall, the restaurant has a dingy and dirty feel to it that made me uncomfortable being there. The food... it's your standard Japanese steakhouse offering. The tricks are all the same whether you go to Beni Hana, Ru San's or wherever else. I think our cook was hispanic, which to me is a bad sign. What I really didn't like was how heavily most of the items cooked were drenched in an overly salty sauce. The food is supposed to taste light and fresh, but it just tasted heavy. There are better places to spend your money. I would skip this place.

I enjoy dining at Wasabi. It's the typical Hibachi but the prices are a little better than that of Benihana. If you are with a small group (4 or less) and are first to be seated at the table then you will have a wait; however, they bring out your soup and salad during that wait period. I like seeing my food cooked in front of me. Be advised that they do use a whole lot of butter and soy sauce. Overall I have not had a bad experience at Wasabi. I'm moving from the Douglas county area soon so I guess I will need to go one last time.

This is the second time that I have been here and I can honestly say that the food is prepared well. The guy we got stayed communicating throughout the dinner, which the kids loved. The waitresses keep my glasses full and table free on empty plates. We will come again!

Definitely my favorite restaurant in Douglasville. Don't let the looks of the outside of the restaurant deceive you, the inside is very nice and the food and sushi is great.

Good sushi for the price. Clean and never a wait. Service can be slow.

Food is good I do like it! However they are never busy and i think I know why. 1st off the location sucks but you can make people drive to your restaurant if you would keep up your property. The parking lot was full of trash that consist of old dirty diapers, someone's underwear, pieces of the actual building itself, and various other things. The appearance outside is not pleasant at all. The front of the building as well as many other places are falling apart looks maybe like termites? If I had not eaten here before I would have never walked in. Getting to the inside and the food, inside is always to cold or too hot depending on the weather outside if it's cold out its cold in. Maybe to cheap to turn on the heat? IDK? The waiters are very helpful they made me think of the ball runners at a tennis match where every time something is dropped one goes running by yelling "I got it." The soup is ehhh, the salad to me taste like pink mayo as dressing. The hibachi is great I always love that part and get teriyaki sauce to put on you rice and all it's awesome! The sushi was rolled to big for me that is. I like being able to put 1 whole piece in my soy then my mouth I couldn't fit it in my mouth, and I've got a big one believe me, they were too big but good though. Bathroom doesn't get cleaned often and I really wish they would fix the door to the women's because it's always left open. All in all it's ok nothing to tell your friends hey let's go here! I beeline with some love it could be a swinging place though! Hope it gets better. Posted some pictures my food was good!

Good price, good sushi. The staff was polite and courteous. The only negative I seen was the building is old and appears dirty.

This place seems to be a rare find in Douglasville. We happened to stay in this town on our way back to Texas from Atlanta. Anyway, the food is great. The sushi we had was fresh, artistically presented and very tasty. Service is good as well. We were promptly seated and drinks in front of us in no time. Now, I have to be honest, there were only, MAYbe, three other tables seated and none of the Hibachi stations being used, so it was a rather slow night. But, that's okay. I'd take that with the excellent service and sushi anytime! Prices are as good as any other sushi houses we've visited. Good food, service and budget-friendly. You can't go wrong here.

Oh boy!.. This place on the outside looks sooo shady! As a matter of fact, it look like the cabin in the horror movie "Wrong Turn 2!" Lol! But my drive was to have some good sushi without traveling all over the planet, and my hunger got the best of me. After checking reviews on several different social sites I decided to gamble the welfare of my family and give this place a try. Me and the kiddos entered the restaurant and the foyer remind me of the Goldmine ride at Six Flags! A lot of woodwork and a big koi pond to the left. Now we enter a second series of doors and approached the hostess stand. The hostess was very energetic and cordial and she inquired if we wanted to be seated. I said "no" we like to make it to go order. Our order included chicken fried rice the Philadelphia, New York and spicy tuna sushi roll. And just like I always do! I scoped out the food score!....and the food score was 91! About 22 minutes later we received our order. Good portions on the rice and the sushi had great presentation and very tasteful but, kinda small. Overall, I was very pleased! As a matter fact, I was more shocked about the positive experience more than anything else. lemillions.com

I keep wanting to like this place. Despite the sometimes awful service, the run down and dirty appearance, sour sake, and occasional upset tummy. I kept trying and trying. I think I have finally given up.

I don't know if I went at an odd time of day or not... but service was slow. I think our server was actually a chef? Maybe? He seemed to have his hands full with several other tables. Why there was no one to help him, I don't know, but it would have greatly benefited them. It took a while to get things like silverware, napkins, etc. which I didn't have available when my food came out. And trying to get a hold of the server in order to ask for these items took some effort. Not his fault, as there should have been more help on this busy day. The food was good, and the lunch deals are excellent!

Out of ALL the Japanese restaurants in Douglasville...and I've been to them ALL...this one, to me, is the best in town. They certainly have the best sushi in Douglasville. Not just your average sushi like eel or california rolls, but my favorite is their Victoria Secret roll with pink seaweed. It's the best. My favorite sushi is at Strips in Atlantic Station. Comparing the drive, traffic and all, Wasabi is comparable. For their Hibachi, it's decent. I've seen more lively cooks, but all in all, we're tired of the show anyway, so we sit in the booths whether we're eating sushi or Hibachi. The drawback to this place...the service many times is S-L-O-W. Food has been served to my table before I got the sushi...and the staff much of the time just acts like they don't give a flip...don't complain if it's slow. You'll get a smart-a** stare! But again, all in all, it's still the best in Douglasville. You know, everyone keeps talking about how bad this place looks on the outside...it once was a Shoney's. Then Williamson BBQ bought it, burned it to the ground, it was rebuilt...like it is. That's the story behind Wasabi's dreadful outside. Not sure why it was rebuilt the way it is, but...to each his own!

I wish I could give a higher star, especially since I never ate their food, but the service was beyond slow--it was non-existent. My party of two went arrived at lunchtime to a fairly empty restaurant. There were maybe three people at the sushi bar, and two semi-full hibachi stations. We sat in the regular booths since we were there for sushi, and after 10 minutes without even a glass of water being served, the other person in my party got up to give a visual reminder to the servers that we were there (which they saw). Five minutes later, still no service...at which point we decided to leave. On our way out, we noticed that the hibachi stations were not manned by the typically live hibachi chefs one sees at most other hibachi-style restaurants. Additionally, none of the people sitting there (all of whom had arrived before us) seemed to have been served anything more than drinks either. I can only imagine how terrible service must be when there's an actual lunch rush. What a shame, because we always drop a fortune whenever we go for sushi, and we were hoping to become regular customers for the three months that we'll be here in Douglasville.

STAY AWAY!!! I went here and ate, with a friend and my kids. Little beknown to us, when I went back I notice there was not health food score. When I ask where it was the young girl act like she didnt understand what I was talking about. So I asked for a manger, he came then he brought out four sheets of paper. One from 2008,2009,2007, and 2008 again. I asked him where was 2010 and 2011 he said they did get one. I told him you have to have one. Then I left went home looked up the score online and it was a 52-U it was suppose to be closed down!!!! WOW, so I contacted the health dept. they went out there the next day and closed the doors. Then came back the following day and they got a 82. So they were able to reopen, however the health dep told me that they will be doing a surprise inspecation sometime in Nov. or Dec. I personally have not been back since they didnt have the score up!! So just be careful!

It's so nice to finally have a good Sushi place in Douglasville. This restaurant just opened and my coworkers and I had lunch the other day. We had the sushi, which was great. The sushi chef made us a special salad with some ginger and sesame dressing before we got the salads that came with our lunch order. The rolls alone are mid-priced but we found a lunch special in the back of the menu that was very reasonable and came with salad and miso soup. The outside of the restaurant seems pretty worse for wear, but the inside is nice and clean and large. We will be returning here to try the hibachi.

This is my favorite Japanese place in the Douglas, Paulding County area. It's more afforable than most. There's never a wait and the staff is friendly.
