This is our family's favorite breakfast place. It's a place for people who like breakfast, not brunch. You want poached emu eggs with a truffle infusion and side of jicama frites? Go somewhere else, ya foodie. You want eggs, grits, home fries, a pile of bacon, and great (Dancing Goats) coffee? This is the place for you, you awesome specimen of humanity, you. They also make the best biscuits in town--other than the ones made by my lovely wife, of course. I ain't kidding. These are large, barely a crunch on the outside, stick to the roofa yo mouf inside, and tasty--not sweet like you-know-where. Lunch is also top notch; the club sanguiche is my favorite, made like a proper deli counter sanguiche. All choices of sides are great, but the fries stand out. Service is consistently excellent, and the staff are great with the childrens. There's a parking lot, but it fills up fast, and if you leave the area while you're waiting for a table, that so-and-so who watches over the lot will have you booted before you can say "bless your heart."

This is my favorite place to eat brunch! I get their amazing biscuit with egg and cheese, coffee, and, occasionally, one (huge) pancake with blueberries and bananas. The danishes are one of my favorite pastries they offer. Convenient: I love that my brunch experience here doesn't take up my whole afternoon, as compared to other brunch spots. Even on crowded weekends, the wait is rarely longer than ten minutes. All of the food is fresh and comes out quickly. Atmosphere: The restaurant is on the smaller side, but the tables are comfortably spaced out. I hate when restaurants squeeze as many tables as possible into one area! It's a very casual, no frills place. Price: The prices are affordable, especially compared to other breakfast spots in the area. Parking: Parking is plentiful and free as the restaurant is in a shopping center. (Don't let this deter you). Noise: The noise level is average and never gets too loud. Tip: The hostess is behind the counter, which can be hard to see if it's super crowded up front. Funny/Weird: They have an aquarium near the front. The huge goldfish will follow you/your child if you get it's attention.

Terrible Service, just ok food. Things seemed disorganized. Was not at all impressed.

Brunch here is tasty and inexpensive. Very "home cooked" feel. But even better than my breakfast...the Sticky Bun. I don't know that words really describe how amazing their sticky bun is. It melts in your mouth, sweet, but not overly. Whatever you do, try the sticky bun. You're welcome...bc you will thank me.

Food was good. Portions size are generous. Chicken sausage is homemade and not dry at all. Pancakes are fluffy! Come with someone you like. The tables are close together.

I have been here for breakfast and lunch. I love the menu selections for both times and they serve breakfast later then other places. My favorite things is the potato salad. It is tasty and fresh and has a nice spin on the traditional. The outdoor seating is nice and you still get prompt service. The staff is friendly and personal. The desserts are always great too! Warning though ask them if there are any nuts in the cookies before you order one. I think there are one or two that have surprised my friends. I usually get the peanut butter and I'm very happy.

I've been twice for breakfast and have really enjoyed it. I tend to keep it simple for breakfast since I'm allergic to eggs, so I ordered bacon, a croissant and coffee both times. Simple and yummy. The croissant is quite the treat with their homemade jam. I could eat them all day. The bacon was tasty, though a little too crisp the second time, and the coffee was fresh and really good. I hesitate to give it 5 stars because of the price. I had to order a la carte and with tip it was quite more than I would like to pay for coffee, bacon and a croissant. However, I'm a sucker for some good pastries and breads, so when I'm ready to drop another $10, I'll go back.

Come here for the homemade biscuits, which arrived on our plates literally fresh out of the oven and generous portions. Don't expect to get two entrees/plates and still be able to split a half order of french toast (which was really good, by the way... dusted with powdered sugar and served with a side of fruit), as we attempted in our excessive ambition. The eggs benedict is good too, by the way, if a bit unorthodox: creamy hollandaise, perfectly poached eggs, served on... biscuits, with fried, thinly sliced ham more or less on the side. However, all the flavors work together really well, and the biscuit in particular imparts another level of starchy creaminess that I thoroughly enjoyed. Presentation was a bit lacking, but I don't mind...and for 8.50 or so (including a side of your choice; I opted for a fruit cup), the food was good enough! Service was all right. A bit curt, but efficient and accurate. We'd come back!

Waitstaff is friendly but the food was subpar. My eggs were cold, watery and undercooked and there was lipstick on my coffee mug. This was a weekday around 10am so it wasn't really that busy. Also, do restaurants water down condiments, because the hot sauce was weirdly void of color and flavor.

Best. Biscuits. In. Atlanta. Seriously. We have been diving head-first in to Southern Food since relocating here from Los Angeles and we have tried a LOT of biscuits over the past 3 months. Pastries A Go Go have, by far, the best ones. While eating at the restaurant is nice, we prefer to get biscuit sandwiches to go and walk over to the Square and eat them on a park bench while watching the world go by. We have even gotten into the habit of getting a few biscuits to-go. They freeze and reheat wonderfully. Just FYI: While they DO have a nice patio, the patio is NOT dog friendly like the rest of the patios in Decatur are. I wish it was, otherwise we would be here all the time.

This is a great place to eat breakfast. I am a fan of their omelettes, their biscuits and their coffee. I think their coffee is the consistently best coffee served in any restaraunt I have been to. The service is very good: orders are taken promptly, coffee cup is kept filled, and the check arrives before your meal is finished (I hate waiting on checks). There is ample parking and there is a nice patio area on one side when weather permits. It is important to remember that they are closed on Tuesdays. I have arrived on a Tuesday more than once with dreams of great coffee and an omelet, only to be sorely disappointed upon seeing the closed sign on the door. :( I have one gripe. It irritates me that it is essentially ala carte...in that the only thing included with an omelet order is biscuit or toast. If you would like potatoes or grits, etc., it is extra and the bill climbs accordingly. As a result, the price of breakfast here is a bit more (by a couple of dollars) than some of the nearby competition.

Great place for breakfast or lunch. These are the best biscuits in the city (IMHO.) On the weekend, the Eggs Benedict are great.

I ordered food to go. I'd like to return to experience the service inside the restaurant. The line to get to the register to pick up food was slightly confusing. Staring at the bakery case was torture. Just about everything looked worth every single calorie that would be added to my waistline if I gave in. The sticky buns were begging me to take them home. Maybe next time. I order a half order of french toast, bacon, and small coffee to go.

Great breakfast spot. You can have a real mug full of coffee and just pig out on eggs, sausage, bacon, etc... Nothing fancy. Looks like an old diner inside. Frendly place. They make you comfortable. If breakfast or brunch is what you want, this is your place.

This is my go-to brunch spot in downtown Decatur. I love Bob's Loaded Potatoes: home fries with ham or veggies, tomatoes and cheese. I get it with veggies, no cheese, and add over easy eggs on top. A half order is plenty for me. I prefer it to the Thumbs Up Skillet Heap. I've been meaning to try their cookies because they always look so good. On top of having reliably good food and being in a great location (with ample parking), the staff is always very friendly. If you haven't tried this place yet, give it a shot!

Its been awhile since I had breakfast outside. I gotten to know about this place last month but I just recently went in for the first time. Place is nice and has a good atmosphere. Service was okay for me. As for the food they serve, it was good and delicious. Had some biscuits and egg benedict here and I must say it was really good. I think I will come back here again and see what they more in store.

This is my go-to brunch spot when I don't want the temptation of brunch booze. The food is solid, the service is efficient, and I can walk here! I really enjoy the biscuits and sausage gravy here. The gravy is really good, but the biscuits are even better. It's my standard dish, and I sometimes get a half order so I can get something else on the side. Some of the better sides I've tried are the homemade sausage and the home fries. Overall, I've found that the savory dishes are better than the sweet ones. And I say this as an unrepentant sweet tooth. I've had the pancakes, French toast, and a cheese Danish (not at the same time), and they were all just okay. Not bad at all and I'd totally order their sweet stuff if I'm jonesing it. But I think they do the savory stuff better. I will say, though that the eggs benedict, the one time I had it, was just too tangy for me, and it tasted like too much vinegar. I'm not a vinegar fan to begin with, but as long as I don't really taste it, I'm fine. In this dish, I could really taste it. And it makes me hesitant to try it again, hoping that I just got a wonky batch last time. Maybe one of these days. Service is fast and efficient, but in my experience, not friendly. This isn't a problem for me at all, but just keep in mind that everyone there is running around getting shit done and isn't likely to stand around and chat with you about the weather or whatever. There is sometimes a wait during peak brunch hours, but I've never waited very long. If you don't care whether you're seated inside or outside, the wait is shorter. The patio is quite nice, with lots of shade. Oh, they've run out of sausage gravy a few times, once as early as 12:30-1pm. That tells you something about the popularity of the dish. So keep that in mind if that's what you're coming for.

I had a basic sausage, egg and cheese biscuit and it was AMAZEBALLS. The cheese was high quality, sausage cooked just right, eggs weren't dry and the biscuits. Oh the biscuits!! They were happy to oblige my questions about ingredients and I'm thrilled to have found a place that uses real butter in their biscuits and not shortening. Line was short, service good and the food delightful. I'll be back.

This place had some of the blandest food I've had in quite some time. They have a nice patio tho. So one star for the service, and the other for the patio.

Love this place. Food is always good. Those big biscuits they serve are the best. I always get the Traditional Southern Breakfast. With mine I like egg whites scrambled w/cheese (good size portion of egg whites), turkey sausage, homefrie & of course a biscuit. You can't go wrong. Employees are pretty cool too. I ate there today & wasn't disappointed. Just remember they are closed on Tuesday.

My girlfriend has been telling me I have to try this place for quite a while... finally i said okay, lets just go. IDK why I was sure I wouldnt like it. Being a southern girl with a mama that knows how to cook, i just knew there was no way the biscuits could be as good as she said. One of these days I'll learn to just listen to her. The first time i went i had an omelet. It was great. It was cook throughout but not burnt. Enough topping to keep me from feeling like i was eating a big fluffy egg. i dont really like omlets, idk why i ordered it. The homefries with it were crazy good. Smart folks behind that creation i tell ya. she ordered the gravy and biscuit and insisted that i try it. I did and i wanted to not like it, to prove that I was right... no place can really have good biscuits and gravy except home... i was wrong. Needless to say a week or so later I went back and ordered my own biscuit, eggs, bacon and home fries. I gotta say the bacon wasn't that great. It tasted old and fatty. The rest was great. I am looking forward t

We go here for Sunday brunch. Have been here with just my husband and also with our kids. Wonderful breakfast place-- they serve only breakfast on the weekends and lunch during the week. The biscuits are wonderful, especially with the sausage gravy. They have fresh bagels there as well that are a good alternative if you want something besides the biscuits. They also have croissants, sticky buns, and coffee cake. Coffee is from Dancing Goats-- very good. the service here is quick and efficient-- which is good bc there is usually a little wait especially if your party is more than 2 people. Definitely rec!

Homade biscuits and sausage, Yes please! Its not the most eye catching restaurant, but if you can get past the outdated look you're guaranteed a good southern breakfast.

I bought 2 cheesecakes and an individual cake totaling around $19.00. I was very disappointed - the cake was ALL frosting, hardly any cake - I was buying a cake. The cheesecakes were not today's. Once I cut the outside layer off all around they were good. Very disappointed!

I visited this place for the first time last weekend and within the week I was back again. The service is great, the food is delicious, the coffee is on point, and the place feels like going to your aunt's for family supper. Two things you must try: strawberry pancakes and the croissants.

This place is really, really good. All bread and pastries made from scratch! Breakfast is wonderful but so are the baked goods and lunch! The chicken salad (also homemade) is incredible and I have gotten birthday cakes made here too! And the cookies.... Like whoa! Go and get some food in your face!

Always great breakfasts. The jam is great and sausage is fantastic. Coffee is Batdorf & Bronson, so that's always good. No espresso, so no cappuccino, latte, etc. But the food is great.

This place is our Saturday haunt. Love the biscuits and the southwestern omelet is surprisingly good (this coming from a native Californian). They don't do lunch, unfortunately.

Thank you, Yelp! I had heard of this place, but never visited before and was looking for a nice breakfast place to try on a Sunday morning in Decatur. So glad I did! This is one of those rare bakeries that delved into breakfast items that has managed to both really well. My friend and I started with a massive, gooey honey bun, that was like BATTAH. Then I had the french toast, which was good, but I loved their biscuit. I am not going to say it was the best ever - that honor goes to the Blue Moon Cafe in Baltimore - but this was good. But what I really loved were the homemade turkey sausages that my friend ordered. They were at least two times bigger and thicker than the usual, sad, turkey sausages we see and so fresh that I would have eaten them on their own. Seriously, these may be some of the best sausage patties I've ever consumed. Overall, great food and great service. You may have to wait a little bit, but it's worth it!

We ordered a vegetarian omelet and a southwestern omelet, one with grits and the other with home fries. The food was extremely bland, but the service and chamomile tea were wonderful. I was shocked because everyone raves about it.

I'm a regular here, and have not had any better breakfast or pastries in the Atlanta area. We've been coming here regularly since they were across Ponce, maybe 15 or 20 years ago. It has a very laid back atmosphere, sometimes feeling like you are visiting family. You haven't had cat's-head biscuits until you've had Bob's. The greek omelet is fantastic, but my favorite is the eggs Benedict with Bob's homemade sausage. Very special. The only problem is that the pastry counter is right by the door, and it is very hard not to try everything. I haven't done that, but everything I've had it top notch. I can't say I've ever had anything here I didn't like. I highly recommend it. Just be sure an put your name on the list when you arrive, and listen out for you name, 'cause you will usually have a bit of a wait.

  • Gail W.

When in Decatur, this is my favorite place for breakfast or lunch. Bob's Hash Browns are to die for, but get a half order because it is plenty! I love their croissants -- every bit as good as what I had in Paris. For lunch, their chicken salad is great -- made from only white meat chicken, some seasonings, and mayo (not a bunch of non-chicken salad stuff like grapes or pecans!). If you get a regular sandwich, opt for the garlic mayo...YUMMY!! Plan on a short wait if you're there at peak times.

Pastries A Go Go is just simple, excellent breakfast. This is one place that has a biscuit almost as good as my mom's and that is saying A LOT. They also have turkey sausage that is awesome and takes care of my sausage biscuit craving since giving up pork. Aside from the great food, their service is also top notch. Always the same friendly and attentive staff who take good care of us. :) I'm happy to call myself a "regular" here.

My mother works nearby and brings home Pastries A Go GO's minicakes and cookies from time to time. I think for the price of $6.99 each, the minicakes are definitely worth it. They are decorated beautifully and for that price, they are a steal! They have many different flavors for the minicake to choose from. Sixteen flavors to be exact. I want to try their breakfast and lunch here and also to finally step foot in this establishment.

Let me just say upfront I do not come here for pastries and I've actually never had one! This place is not fancy, but it is yummy, consistent, and easy on the wallet. I love their customizable pancakes (enormous so I only get one) and I always get it with pecans and blueberries. They also have homemade patty sausage that I enjoy as a side with my pancakes or on occasion as a tasty sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit. They also have a yummy biscuits and sausage gravy if you are lucky to get it on the weekend before they run out. This is not frou-frou Atlanta brunch but if you are looking for consistent good breakfast with a dependable staff who has worked there for years and years then Pastries A Go Go is for you!

I had a very good breakfast here eggs scramble with cheese, turkey sausage , home fries & biscuit... I torn it up....the homemade biscuits are awesome. I still was not full so I ordered a banana pancake mmmmmmm it was so good..the prices was really good too...I've spent more in the waffle house than here..my bill was $10 ..I definitely will be going back to this place.

I've only been once, but my experience was great. I went on a weekday morning for breakfast with a friend and we both got a half-order of Cinnamon French Toast with fresh fruit and a side of bacon. I didn't taste any cinnamon but it was delicious nonetheless, and came with a good portion of delicious fruit goodness. The bacon was thick cut and perfectly crispy as well. The service was so fast it felt like I barely blinked and the food was there! Definitely worth a try if you're in the area and looking for a simple, unpricey breakfast.

Eggs Benedict on the weekends - you'll never want to order them anywhere else again. Homemade biscuits are as good as it gets. There can be a small wait on weekends during peak times, but the food arrives within 10 minutes of ordering and the tables get turned quickly. Also recommend: Sausage Biscuit & Bear Claw - although most of their bakery products are top-notch.

Love this place! I'm a creature of habit, as well as an egg salad aficionado, so I always get the egg salad on white bread. Simple and yummy. You can order your sandwich "a go-go," which includes a side and a huge cookie, not to mention the ever-important cold, crunchy dill pickle. Is there anything that makes your blood boil more than a forgotten pickle? The soups are usually good, too, although last time I had a gazpacho that was more salsa than soup. On the whole, though, a fun spot to grab a quick breakfast or lunch. They have a nicely shaded terrace, which is a great place to sit when the weather is nice. My 3-year-old loves the fish tank and ceramic frog near the register, so Pastries a Go Go is one of her favorite lunch spots as well!

Went to Pastries a Go-Go and quickly Left-Left. Service was chaotic and food was just ok. My omelet was thrown together with much hastiness as the cheese was still cold inside when I got it. I don't think we'll be coming back anytime soon. I'll just cook at home, thank you.

Finally tried this place for lunch 10.11.13. My gf had mentioned trying this out and I'm so glad we did. The staff was very welcoming, the food was perfectly portioned and overall, we loved the friendly service. We sat outside on the patio and would only comment that the inside ambience could probably use a bit more color? Regardless, we'll be back for brunch in the future and will totally recommend this place to anyone!

Marginal breakfast at best. I got eggs, bacon biscuit grits. Eggs over easy - not that good Bacon - good Biscuit - bad (way too cake like) Jalapeño cheese grits (granted, jalapeño was going off menu) - fair at best.

I've gone to this restaurant for at least 7 years. One of the reasons I give this restaurant 5 stars is because it has been consistently delicious every time I've visited and I've visited this restaurant a lot over the years. I used to work around the corner from the restaurant. I almost always get the same thing for breakfast. In the past, I've ordered the Traditional Southern Breakfast and I've had the pancakes. The traditional breakfast is like something you would get from a diner but tastes much better. In fact, the Decatur Diner is just down the street and it doesn't compare to Pastries. I only had the pancakes once at Pastries and they were just ok to me. It was so long ago that it wouldn't be fair for me to judge them now. On my last visit (October 29, 2011), and for the last few years, I ordered a turkey sausage biscuit and a side of fruit. Pastries makes their own pork and turkey sausage. The biscuits are also made in-house. I have the utmost respect for a small restaurant owner who makes their own sausage and biscuits. Lunch is consistently good. I'm a huge fan of the Chicken Salad. It comes with fresh baked lavosh, fresh fruit and a yogurt poppy seed dressing made in-house. Pastries a Go Go is a must must. The service is very good although the wait staff gets a little busy at times. I arrived at 9:30 am on a Saturday morning and there was a 15 minute wait. The City of Decatur is very walkable so after a good meal you can enjoy a nice walk around the city. To see my full review with pictures, visit breakfastatkarens.com/20…

This is one of my favorite breakfast spots in the city. I must say that I have never been disappointed with my many visits since 2004. If you like biscuits and gravy then you need to visit them on Saturday or Sunday. They might run out so try to get there earlier than later! Also the service is always good and the food comes out very fast!

More like Pastries a NO NO, am I right? First, I was kicking myself for not knowing about this place, and then I was kicking myself for actually going there. Gah. So I had a cousin in from Portland, and I wanted to show her that ATL knows its way around a kitchen too. I'd read some good reviews online that said P-a-G-G had bangin' biscuits and good gravy. I ordered an acon-beggin'-cheese biscuit and my cousin got some biscuits and gravy. When the food arrived, our server said, "So does everything look kinda sorta like it should?" and I get that she was being folksy or something, but it turned me off. Shouldn't you know what I ordered? And what that should look like? (Really I GET IT but it's NOT FUNNY.) Cousin said the gravy was too salty and sent it back (eventually, after the server ignored us for a while even though a completely full plate was pushed to the side of the table). I don't normally condone sending things back just because you don't like them, but that rule is for new foods you haven't tried before and ordered anyway, not foods that you are an expert on tasting. My biscuit was okay--the biscuit itself was nothing to write home about though it was big enough to hold the eggs and whatnot, which is a plus. Probably y'all know what a bacon fiend I am, but just to remind you--when I was deciding what to order I was all "I hope their bacon is good!" and my cousin said, "Uh, Al? You've mentioned the bacon at every single place we've eaten since I've been here." Whoops. Anyway, the bacon was boring. Not smoky, not sweet, not peppered, just blah. Same goes for the cheesy eggs. I meeeean don't get me wrong, a bacony eggy cheesy biscuit is good and all, but this wasn't a stand-out meal for me. Cousin replaced her biscuits with a side of fruit since the whole thing seemed like a pain in the A...TL. We split some homefries and I would say those were the big winner of the meal. Perfectly cooked, crusty on the outside, taters with onions. Hell yes. All told, the excursion was a downer. I'll give them another go (go) next time I've got a hankerin' for some homies, but I'll save it for another native Decaturite and not an out of towner, just in case.

Have to be honest: I'm basing this review on having stopped in there only for a pastry, not a full breakfast or lunch. So please take my two stars with a grain of salt. The dessert we had --a chocolate bomb-- was absolutely delicious (if a little overpriced at $6). The things that got it a two stars for me were 1) decor, which is really nothing to write home about (the bathroom smell was pretty overwhelming). 2) the attitude we got when ordering. I lived in NYC for 13 years and just didn't expect that down here. So perhaps if you don't deal with staying there you won't have to handle the yucky smell and attitude -- ah... now I get it... "pastries a go go"... good idea. Take 'em and go go...

It seems every time I visit Decatur I end up having breakfast here. I pretty much love everything here. I think the only thing I've not been particularly impressed with was their grits. But their biscuit sandwiches, pancakes, eggs, etc are all quite tasty. The only thing I dislike is the wait. It's a fairly small shop, so if you go at anything remotely resembling peak breakfast/brunch time expect to wait a while. While I did give it 4 stars, sometimes I do think the wait is really too much and would be OK finding some other breakfast joint.

I never noticed this little diner tucked away in the same shopping center as the Mellow Mushroom, but I'm glad a friend of mine dragged me there. My BLT was delicious with a generous serving of perfectly crispy bacon. The pasta salad is a very good choice for a side and if you're having a normal lunch (not an "omg post roller skating we're "freaking starving' lunch like us) you'll definitely be able to save some food for leftovers. Friday at lunch time was definitely a busy time for them, but our food came out lightening fast and with a genuine smile. Hooray!

They used to have the BEST biscuits anywhere...Bob must have changed the recipe. The biscuits used to be tall and fluffy. Now they are short and dense. They remind me of a hamburger bun. The first time I noticed the change was a couple of weeks ago. I thought maybe it as just a bad day. Then I went back last week, and much to my chagrin, they were short and dense again. I think they must have reduced the butter or something. Too bad, this used to be my favorite breakfast place. I guess I will have to switch to Thumbs Up. OH well...

I had breakfast here a few weeks ago. I'm really at a loss of words as to describing how good the meal was. Everything was home style and just the way I liked it. I got to taste a bit of my SO's Egg's Benedict is amazing. Needless to say I needed a nap after brunch. The one thing I didn't like is crowdedness in the front that alone would make me not want to come back. I don't like being heal-to-toe and every person coming through the door asking me if I'm waiting in line when I'm clearly not.

Absolutely forgettable eats. The potato side was so salty as to render it unedible and the rest of the food was below average. That being said we haven't tried the pastries and have heard they're divine so will try those for sure but as for breakfast, never again.

I hate to say it, but I was a bit disappointed by my first visit to Pastries a Go Go. I was in need a dessert and remember this place, so I thought I would give the local place a try. When I walked in, I immediately notice the large case, unfortunately it was pretty empty. They had 3 small cakes and some cookies. I was expecting more, but settled for the cake. It was OK, but nothing special and I though I bit pricey. After reading so many great review about the food, perhaps I should come back and give it anothrt try? I just don't think this is a special place for desserts.

Not sure what the big deal is here. Had breakfast on a weekend morning and sat inside. It was busy, but not that bad. Didn't know whether we needed to wait or go sit down at an empty table, so I asked a server who was at the front counter. I got the blank stare followed by the quick look down with a full blown ignore. Another woman behind the counter let us know that we could go and sit down. Uh-oh. Looking at the menu, I don't really see anything out of the norm here. You got eggs, you got omelets, you got breakfast meats, you got biscuits, you got pancakes. That's the menu. Took awhile to get our order taken because our actual waitress had a bunch of other tables. I'm not sure how this place runs, but what I am sure of is that they need to do it differently. There was like two servers running the whole place and a couple of people who's job was getting your silverware, bussing dishes, and getting water. Everybody is running around like crazy and you get the occasional "everything okay?", "do you need anything else?" from your server. These questions are the obligatory questions a server asks to try and make sure that they get some kind of a tip, when really all they've done is taken your order and given you a check. The food was just average. My pancake was tough, if that even makes any sense. I literally had to use a knife to cut through it. The best part of the meal was the fruit cup, which was great. My wife's omelet was undercooked and the grits were pretty boring. They do serve Batdorf and Bronson coffee, which it tasty. Didn't have any pastries, I really just wanted to rip-chord out of this weird little spot. They don't serve lunch apparently on the weekend either. This place isn't terrible or anything, just got some weird staff and some okay food. Meh.

Six years ago when I first went here, I really liked it to where I would walk 2 miles on Sunday to eat breakfast here. Usually the eggs benedict. I came again 2 years ago and was disappointed in the food and service, so I haven't been back. The crowd has also dwindled since then. I would recommend as just another breakfast place, but nothing special anymore.

Give me these biscuits on my death bed. So light and fluffy. The bacon, egg and cheese sandwich is my favorite thing on the menu - on a biscuit- perfect light fluffy eggs. Z had the biscuits and gravy which were really, really tasty. I love the hand-cut fruit cup. For lunch, I dig the chicken salad. The service is always spot on here, and the dancing goats coffee is flowing. Non-descript atmosphere and a pretty standard menu but when you're looking for the standard, you can't do much better than PaGG.

Pretty good breakfast. Because it's real close to me, I often will order a bacon, egg and cheese croissant with homefries to go. The homefries are a standout. Whatever else you order, you should get some of those. I'm not a huge fan of the Dancing Goat's coffee though. The orange juice tasted like it was from concentrate, and I don't really like their cinnamon rolls (which are usually my favorite pastry). It's also claustrophobic to eat in, which is why I greatly prefer to get my food to go. It's not bad though. I'd like to call it three-and-a-half stars, but I can't quite go with a four. I may revisit this review if I sample other pastries and like them.

I liked the food, but why do they always act like such jerks? No worries, they finally drove us off. On our very last visit, I had a baby and three of us. They, unapologetically, had us waiting for near 15 minutes in a HALF FULL RESTAURANT, sitting people ahead of us who walked in the door. They said, that, due to the baby, they didn't have a place to put the highchair that wouldn't be in the way. Didn't mind us sitting there. Staff was surly. Didn't really seem interested in 'righting' the wrong. I was pretty shocked at how nonchalant they were acting. I understand the necessity of fire codes, but I know that there were tables on the side where we could have fit. I did see that they had patio seating, although we visited during a 'non-patio' season. I will admit that. This was the end of my family donating money to Pastries A Go Go. I've worked in and visited enough restaurants to know that kindness works both ways. I know how challenging it is to work in the service industry, and I always try to do my best to be a good customer. But, my faux relationship with Pastries A Go-Go turned out to be pretty one-sided. There are a bazillion restaurants serving brunch who don't mind us joining them. It's a shame, too. I love finding reasons to cater to my sweet tooth and I love my breakfast places. I'd always order an breakfast and I never forgot pastries to go for the week ahead. I gave them a few tries, that's enough. Why give someone money to treat you like garbage? Unless, that's your thing.

Pastries a Go Go could only be better if they served lunch on weekends! I used to work on the square and fell in love with Pastries! I have eaten there on the weekends for brunch/ breakfast and it was tasty but my heart is loyal to their lunch! They have a real biscuit, though. That is not something Flying Biscuit can say (they serve rolls, which is offensive). You've got to go for lunch! I don't usually like potato salad. I may be an Atlanta native but I just can't handle potato salad like most people make here! Pastries makes a kick ass potato salad that I could eat for days on end. Weeks even! Give it a shot even if you don't love most potato salads. My lunch order is the Chicken Salad Plate. It is so amazing! SO amazing! It comes with fruit (whatever is in season) and this tasty poppy seed dressing (it's a sweet dressing that you can dip your fruit in) that will surprise you with the tastiness! You get a nice crisp bread, too- I like to put some of my chicken salad (so good you'll never want to eat chicken salad elsewhere) on it. It is a pretty healthy lunch for a decent price! Of course if you add the potato salad it likely isn't as healthy...and you must try the mice! Mice are so delicious! They're shortbread cookies (home made of course) with a bit of almond-y cream and then drizzled with some chocolate. They look like mice. If you can hold out long enough to look and not chow down on it! In addition to the food being outstanding!!! The people who work at Pastries are the best! After going in a few times they knew my order and were always glad to see me. They're really friendly and sweet. It really is worth getting in line if you go in the middle of the lunch rush. If you can't wait you can always call in an order and take it with you! They're closed on Tuesdays and stop serving lunch at 2 or 2:30 on weekdays. You can get your mice until 4 or 4:30 though- if they have any left!

I met a friend down in Decatur for lunch, his workplace being just a few blocks off the main downtown strip. Cute area, except the places he suggested for lunch weren't open. Hmm...where to go go? Pastries A Go Go, of course! It's a cute little place, with really nice people and some great smells coming from their kitchen. I ordered lunch, while my friend dined on breakfast. I decided to go with the Sandwich A Go Go, and made my own creation. I love making sandwiches, but most of the time it's too costly to make it the way I want at a restaurant. Not here...really reasonable prices. I went with turkey and corned beef on whole wheat, topped with dijon and smoked gouda and sprouts. Yum....a really hearty sandwich, but so fresh tasting with the sprouts. The potato salad on the side was nice too. As my cookie option I chose the classic chocolate chip, and it was the icing on the cake! I'm not sure I'll find myself down in Decatur anytime in the near future, but I'd definitely go go back to Pastries A Go Go.

So, I love chocolate croissants. They are one of my favorite things in the world. I cannot express how much i love them. EEEP! I even went so far as to try and think I could make them myself in my tiny little kitchen. I looked into it and was so not impressed with what I would have to do to achieve my delicious fluffy little piece of chocolate heaven. So, I broke down and remembered Pastries A Go Go. I had never been there and was slightly confused as to where to enter and ended up following several people with strollers into the A Go Go. Which I just don't think that strollers should really be brought into such a small waiting area. So, I tripped my way to the front of the line and requested a small coffee and chocolate croissant. I got the last one (well at least on the tray in front of me). Oh also got a small coffee, and it was like 3 bucks. Say WHAT? it was awesome. I get back to my apartment and I sit down with my cats to watch a movie and to eat my breakfast. I bite into my croissant and my taste buds start to dance for joy. CAVEAT: the croissant was delicious, but not really a croissant, it was more of a biscuit croissant now having seen their biscuits. So, based upon this I took the boy to breakfast that next Thursday. There was nobody in there (and NO strollers). We were sat immediately and were greeted by the awesome wait staff. They were ALL awesome and I truly enjoyed sitting there talking to them and listening to their camaraderie. The food was solid and the price was exactly where I like it to be. So, in short this place made me very happy and I will be back. CAVEAT: but not on a weekend or if strollers are entering my breakfast sanctum

Wish I could actually rate their food, but wasn't given a chance to eat any! We went in on a Saturday a little before 3pm - they are supposed to be open until 4. Didn't know their kitchen closed at 2:30 unfortunately. The 2 ladies at the counter looked at us like we were aliens and rudely asked if we needed something. Then just pointed to the lackluster and pretty bare dessert bar and said we could get something from there if we wanted. We turned around and walked out. I had heard good things about this place but won't be going back due to their attitude.

Have always hesitated to write a review of a place I love so much - worried that if word gets out too much the crowds will get too big... Throwing caution aside, this is the best breakfast place in Atlanta (ok, downtown Decatur), since, being a native, I feel I have the authority to proclaim such a title. Not since Snack and Shop in Buckhead was around have I been so willing to wait for breakfast. The place is not that big, but has a big patio, so depending on the weather, there could be a wait if you get here after 10:15 AM on weekends, and after 12:15 pm for lunch. The biscuits are amazing. (they just won one of the top biscuit in ATL awards in the AJC) The turkey sausage is homemade. Fruit cup is always delish with fresh fruit. French toast is huge, pancakes are really the best in town (one pancake does the trick). The Southern Breakfast - eggs, biscuit, cheese grits, sausage. for like $6.50 (you can choose your items, these are my choices). Veggie choices - Bob's roasted potatoes topped with veggies (i've probably had 20 lbs of these). Need I say more? They serve batdorf bronson coffee (dancing goats) in a bottomless cup, so come sleepy. Lunchtime (only on weekdays) is also a treat. Their sandwiches are made-to-your-order, (on house-made bread) but I recommend their daily specials - a hot plate item, a soup and side for about $7. Can't be beat. I will drive for their chef's or greek salad or any of their homemade soups. Also like their chicken and tuna, which come on a bed of lettuce and with fruit. The owner/chef Bob used to big a big-time pastry chef, so try one of the cookies, croissants, or personal-sized cakes (buttercream cake mm). He also makes cakes to order. As far as the service is concerned, Bob has the same people working here for years, and they are the best all-female wait staff in town. The wait can be long, but if you're going to wait in Atlanta to eat breakfast, I think you should wait here.

This is my favorite weekend brunch restaurant in Decatur. The reason is the eggs benedict. The eggs are poached to perfection and served on two halves of their fluffy biscuits. You get your choice of ham or sausage patty, and the whole thing is topped with hollandaise sauce. It comes with a side of potatoes or grits for a very reasonable $6.75. This type of meal makes Sunday morning naps possible. The rest of the menu satisfies as well. I have never ventured past the breakfast items, so can't report on the lunch. They have a tendency to overcook the bacon, which makes me lean towards the sausage. The biscuits are better than Flying Biscuit (overrated) by a wide margin. A good to-go order is a sausage and egg biscuit, big enough that just one will do the job. The worst thing about this place is the crazy waits on the weekend. If you make it before 10am or so, you will be okay. Any later and you are facing an hour wait to get a table. You can walk somewhere else and eat before that happens. The weekdays are not as crowded, even for lunch.

They do a good overall job as a diner, but they're especially good at a couple things: quick, attentive service (e.g. fast/often coffee refills), and extremely fast, consistent cooking. Bob really runs a tight ship back in that kitchen. Their biscuits are great- they seem fresh and are perfect for sandwich-making or soaking up gravy. They don't really have much in the way of "pastries", but they are a great place to go for breakfast.

I haven't been to Pastries a Go Go for much else than breakfast, but the breakfast is always superb! Their croissants are huge and soft and buttery, the biscuits are a meal in themselves, and the egg, bacon, and cheese biscuit I had for breakfast the other morning held me through the start of a day at summer camp and almost full for lunch as well! The bacon was cooked perfectly, which is saying something because I am super picky about my bacon, the eggs were also well-cooked, and everyone at work kept eyeing it and asking if I was going to finish. I'm definitely taking my fiancee back for some yummy breakfast pastries, especially since ABC is out of business now-- highly recommended! Keep in mind, though, that they close mid afternoon, so don't expect it as a dinner option!

I LOVE this little restaurant! I've been a follower for years, when it was located across the street. Sorta miss the original, funky little place, with all of its earthiness - but the new shop handles more people without sacrificing quality or taste. Bob runs a great restaurant, and some members of his staff have been with him for years - which says a lot about the place. Go whenever you want to spend time chatting over a terrific breakfast or lunch with a friend. (If you're on a rush for time, you'll miss the wonderful, relaxed atmosphere.) The eggs Benedict (served only on Sat/Sun) is the best! I also vary my breakfast experiences with omelets, which are quite the rage. Bob is a pastry chef, too. If you ever want a dessert which matches Southern Sweets, order yours here.

i got a cool lesbian vibe. they were super nice even though the kitchen was closed and i just wanted a biscuit. they let me buy a cold one. it was expensive. 2.75. but i thin it was worth it cause it was DELICIOUS!!! not a great selection (the glass counter was nearly bare) not a great location (i didnt like the mini mall style) A-OK

Sticky buns, cherry muffins, sugar cookies, chocolate bombs, lemon cupcakes, flour-less chocolate cake, croissants, flaky biscuits...my mouth is watering just thinking about the items I saw in their display case! Seriously, anything carb-errific is soooo good here! David, Leslie and I came here before our trip to the Dekalb Farmers Market this morning. Upon entering, I knew I had to have something sweet! The sticky bun looked so sweet...the taste of it was sweeter. The ooey and gooeyness of the bun, cinnamon, sugar, and syrup was so yummy! It was a good thing they called us for our table since my eye was craving for the cherry muffins! For breakfast, I ordered the Southern Breakfast with 2 eggs, turkey sausage, cheese grits and a biscuit. David got the Ham and Cheese Omelet with veggies and Leslie got a Biscuit Sandwich with a side of fruit. Everything was delicious! David enjoyed his omelet and loved the homefries. Leslie liked that the fruit was more than just melon. I loved the flaky biscuit and the homemade turkey sausage...nothing beats that! Pastries A Go Go will definitely be another brunch place on my list to go to on Sunday mornings!

Love, Love, Love, Pastries a Go Go. I get either the chicken salad with the poppy seed dressing or the veggie sandwich with a slice of smoked Gouda for a extra added kick! The food is always fresh and the cookies are always to die for. I usually eat here once or twice a week. I can't say enough about the freshness of the food!!! Reasonably priced and always fresh!

We went for a pastry and came home with 2 boxes full of food. My wife and I always had the impression this was a bakery...we were WRONG! We open the door this past Saturday morning to see bacon, eggs, french toast, and all other heavenly breakfast items on peoples' plates. The prices seemed pretty low, so low that we "over-ordered" thinking the portions would be small...wrong again! We had a half-order of the loaded potatoes, cheese grits, sausage/egg/cheese biscuit, sausage and gravy biscuits, and a sticky bun and couldn't come close to finishing. We were very happy with our meal...especially that sticky bun! The potatoes were okay, I probably wouldn't get them again though. Our server wasn't very good, so we had to get help from other servers to help pick up the slack. As far as breakfast places go, this is a solid choice but maybe just a notch below Crescent Moon Cafe (the Decatur standard). We certainly look forward to going back and trying some different things from the menu.

I really like Pastries A Go Go. In fact, it is one of my favorite breakfast spots. The sticky buns are truly AMAZING. Plenty of delicious things on their menu, however, their omelettes are awful. They do not completely beat the eggs before pouring in the pan and they put the veggies/meat directly in the eggs and cook them in there in stead of cooking the eggs completely and then putting the stuffing in the middle with the cheese. A gross, gooey mess is the outcome.

Ymmm, yummy biscuits. I love the flaky, buttery biscuits at this place, and breakfast all day long. When I'm hungry after a long morning, I treat myself to breakfast for lunch here! I always just get the basic breakfast combo and coffee. Nothing fancy. The coffee could be better, but hey, it's a diner with pastries. I can't wait till the weather warms up so I can sit outside again!

this is a very specific review. I am a biscuit hound. i went in here because i heard the biscuits were amazing. It was a really solid biscuit. i just walked in at peak hours and got 1 biscuit to go. Pretty much your standard white flour biscuit but yeah, it was good. The service though was great, they didn't have honey packets so they gave me a little cup to go. they let me charge $1.07 on my credit card. and they got me in and out at peak hours for a measly little order. only reason it isn't 5 stars is because it wasn't a GREAT biscuit

A friend took me to breakfast at Pastries a Go-Go as a Birthday treat. The interior reminds me of an art deco diner. Starving, I attacked my Greek omelet: scrambled eggs swirled with pepperoncini, banana peppers, tomatoes, black olives and feta cheese. I appreciated that the menu required me to choose whether my eggs were cooked soft, regular, well-done or burned. The biscuit, hailed as the best biscuit in Atlanta, lived up to its title. In this case, simplicity wins. I slathered that puppy with butter and raspberry jelly, eating it up like a piece of cake. Forget the Flying Biscuit's weird, hard, sugary biscuits. Pastries a Go-Go is king!

Did you just sink your teeth into the flakiest, most delicious biscuit you ever tasted? You did? Then welcome to Pastries A Go Go! Located in Decatur near the downtown CVS (actually in the same shopping complex), recommended dishes include just about all of the breakfast menu items, but if you want a tasty breakfast w/out breaking the bank, sample the biscuit variations, which start at less than $2 for an egg biscuit and go up from there depending on what you add. Everything, however, is reasonably priced. Other standouts include the Eggs Benedict and omelette dishes. Having difficultly deciding? Ask the friendly wait staff for a suggestion. They're genuinely a nice group of people and seem to maintain their cool no matter how busy it is. There is an outdoor seating area which allows well behaved dogs to sit under your table or off to the side. Trees shade the tables and amazingly enough the patio is not facing a busy street (like most restaurant patios) so it is relatively quiet and enjoyable to sit outside. This was a well thought out design and makes for a relaxing weekend morning. Simple fare, an easy going wait staff and a nice patio area join forces at Pastries A Go Go to crush the so-so pretentious breakfast chains. Why not come back for lunch during the week or pick up some bakery items to go! This is one spot to support!

French toast....bacon...sausage...gravy.... biscuit. who doesn't love breakfast!! Pastries A Go Go...my favorite place for breakfast. This is the one place that the SO and I frequent on a regular basis. We make the trek from the hood in east Atlanta just about every weekend, or at least every other weekend. The quality of the food is always consistent and always yummy. I don't have one favorite, I have several: - Perfectly cooked french toast that is crisp on the outside from the caramelization from being fried and warm and soft on the inside with a side of thick cut bacon cooked just right- crisp, but not burned. - Sausage gravy with an extra side order of sausage eaten like this: cut one of the huge biscuits in half, place a sausage patty on each biscuit, spoon the gravy on top of each sausage biscuit, and enjoy. It'll kill you, but you'll love it. - Southwestern omelet without the jalapenos and a side of bacon. I'm not big into poached, boiled, runny eggs, so I've not had the eggs benedict, but my friends love them. Speaking of eggs, if you like your eggs sunny side up where it's lightly fried on one side and just about uncooked on the other- this place is for you. That's how the SO orders his eggs. He hates it when they're overcooked where the yellow starts to firm up. At Pastries, his eggs are always cooked just right, which to me looks like an undercooked egg that's way too runny- gross. If you love good food that's inexpensive, head over to Pastries A Go Go. If you go, go early otherwise be prepared for a wait. While you're waiting, grab a cup of the Dancing Goat coffee and salivate over all the wonderful pastries and baked goods in the case.

I've only been for lunch - though I heard their breakfast is delightful. I enjoyed a great sandwich combo here - huge portions at a low price. The atmosphere left something to be desired. It's pretty bare bones and noisy as well. But crowded is usually a good sign, right? Right. The only complaint I had was actually that my croissant sandwich was SO rich and buttery that I almost couldn't finish it. The sugar cookies are to-die-for.

BRUNCH IS FOREVER SWIMMING in my subconscious, waiting to burst free long after sunrise. I crave the weekend, when we climb out of bed, throw on some clothes and stumble to the car. Always tuning to an acoustic set where Radiohead or Jude or Portishead provide a drifting soundtrack. I love brunch and the way the clouds in my coffee climb upwards when I pour creamer into a black cup. Pastries A Go Go grew on me in the best way possible. Where other spots no matter how subtle, give gimmicks, feed you themes, and inevitably end up believing their own hype, PGG gives nothing but quiet excellence. Deep in downtown Decatur and hidden behind a CVS, it's plain and simple with very few adornments. Walls feel bare white, the tables are plain and the staff doesn't wear uniforms - neither professional nor the L5P hipster tattoo variety. The servers are the same every week, hard working middle-aged women who do this all the time and do it without being cool. The brunch scene in Atlanta is wild. Arrive late with too many people in your party and you'll easily sacrifice three hours. The good spots are overrun because they were highlighted on a cheesy travel show and now everyone wants to fly there because they have biscuits in their name - even if there is much better elsewhere. PGG consistently delivers the goods, quietly, and with more excellence than many places with much higher profiles. I honestly thought I was bored. The first few times I ate here I was confused and thought little of the restaurant. I thought the patrons must be lost - or themselves boring. Then one day I actually paid attention. I noticed how great the biscuits are, I realized that YOU MUST TRY THEIR PASTRIES. As the months went on and we brunched here simply because of it's very close proximity to our house, it dawned on me that I was missing out on something great. Thinking that PGG was the epitome of blah only proved that I just didn't get it. It grew on me. With so many options for brunch and so many places I still haven't tried, when a weekend morning arrives and a choice needs to be made, I want to go to PGG. Forget trying to find a new place to yelp, I want the comfort, the quality, the excellent brunch with no fanfare at Pastries A Go Go. I find myself satisfied here. At other spots I feel like I need whole plates of food, with lots of options for me to feel content. All I ever require at PGG is a simple egg biscuit sandwich, a cup of coffee, and maybe a sticky bun covered in what amounts to sweet, melted breakfast joy with nuts and a portion size enough for two. Not safe for diabetics or anyone pretending to be healthy. This pastry alone changes my mood better than any medication and the biscuit is a staple and a must have no matter what else you order. Sitting here at work under the fluorescent lights on a Monday morning, Saturday is very far away.

I love this place! It's CHEAP! It's so GOOD! They have GREAT COFFEE! (Dancing Goats, one of my faves!) If you don't get there early, you'll usually be in for a short wait, but I don't have that problem because I always beat the crowd. The egg-and-cheese biscuit is always delicious, although they will go heavy on the cheese if you don't request otherwise. The biscuits are so soft and yummy. And their pastries are fabulous- the honey bun comes smothered in gooey, sugary goodness...always piping hot. Their muffins are soft, big, and sooooo good! In fact, I haven't had anything there that I don't like, and I've had a lot. Warm fuzzy props: they gave us an amazing deal when they catered a breakfast at my nonprofit. And they were the only caterers we've used that showed up EARLY!!

Crescent Moon is the "popular kid" in my neighborhood, but quite frankly, I think it is overrated and not worth the wait. J. Christoper's is not as popular, but you will still wait and the food isn't the greatest. Feeling uninspired by these options, with six year-old niece in tow, I decided to check out Pastries a Go Go. I'm going to give them my personal "Best Brunch in Decatur" award based on the following: *Less than 5 minute wait, depite the beautiful Saturday late morning hour, which is worth several stars when you have a hungry kid who eats like a man *Yummy cakes and pastries to oodle over--one of my favorite activities-- while waiting *Dancing Goats coffee (yeah!), cheese eggs (cooked to order with right amount of cheese), bisquits (gigantic, fluffy and crusty in all the right places), sausage (pork & turkey options) and homefries (again, plentiful, soft and crusty in all the right places) cooked to delicious perfection plus fresh (ripe) fruit cup to offset my guilt *Prompt, friendly service and choice of inside, outside, or take out dining to top it off So, ignore the sour orange juice, strip mall vibe, and bring your appetite to Pastries a Go Go. Just don't come too often because I'd still like to get a seat.

Don't ask me how I missed this crucial detail, but when I used Google Mobile to find A Go Go's address it listed it as Ponce de Leon Place. Living in the Poncey-Highland area for a time, I assumed it meant the Poncey Highland area, but in fact meant Decatur instead -- lesson learned for next time. Pastries A Go Go is located in a strip mall kinda place near the town square. I thought that patio was nice. Unfortunately, the food wasn't remarkable-- while not bad per se, it really didn't stand out as anything out of the norm. Perhaps I'm tainted by my love of greasy diners for breakfast? I also thought the wait staff seemed distracted for what didn't seem to be an overly crowded afternoon-- forgetting to bring a couple of dishes etc and not especially warm and friendly. That being said, this is not a horrible option if you're in the mood for brunch on the weekend and you don't want to spend too much.

"We have new kitchen staff today, so its going to be a long wait." So we grab coffee and croissants and hang out in the overflowing entrance and parking lot. We got seated faster than expected, and then that long wait kicked in. Yeah it took a while, even with the wait warning, and when the food came out, it wasn't hot. Sad cold hollandaise on the eggs benedict. I will be back though, under normal circumstances its probably a great breakfast spot.

Pastries A Go Go is a delicious breakfast spot. We go there once a month or so, but recently have switched to J. Christopher's down the street. Pastries always has a ridiculous wait for brunch, we're talking an hour an a half when we arrived at 10 am on Sunday morning. Walked into J. Christopher's and were sat immediately and they have a bigger menu. Pastries is great, though. Their eggs benedict, served on a biscuit or a croissant, are good, as is the french toast. Generally, though, I don't feel like waiting *that* long for brunch!

ummm, being a biscuit girl--these are GOOD! i had an omelet, but i was steadily eyeing all the beautiful, fresh looking salads with fruit that kept coming out! i must try these soon! i also had a cup of excellent clam chowder. although there was a slight wait, the food was well worth it, and great service to boot! there definitely will be a return visit (or 10) for me!

This is probably my favorite breakfast place in Atlanta, just because it so perfectly goes between being super rich and delicious but also doesn't go so far that you feel like you've had 5 meals after you leave, like often happens at other breakfast places. I've had both breakfast and lunch here, and in every combination its always been excellent. The breakfast foods are hearty and tasty, without being sickeningly sweet. The biscuits are to die for, perfectly fluffy and huge, and it only takes one for the whole of whatever you've ordered. All the food is super fresh and it shows, especially when you get a sandwich with lunch. The lettuce just has that perfect crispness that comes with good quality ingredients. Also the french fries, of all things, were perfectly fried crispy, and were salted just right. The coffee is good, but a word of warning is that they do not have a soda fountain so while you get unlimited coffee, you get Coke by the can, which could be a downer for some. One huge thing worth mentioning is the pastry selection, which is probably the best part. They have a very nice case up in the front of the store with a good selection of various pastries, little cakes, and cookies. The owner slash head chef is a trained pastry maker, and it really shows in all the stuff he makes. Its all really good, and you can get it to go if you want. I'm sure they'll also do catering of cakes and things, which given how good everything else is there, wouldn't be a bad idea to me. Overall, I am pretty a-go-go for this place, and visited it as often as I could when I lived nearby.

I've been coming here for over a year, and manage to add Quick Tips and Check-In's, but somehow missed writing a review. Simply put, it's awesome! You're greeted by pastry cases literally stacked over the top with mini cakes, sweet rolls, cookies, scones, and Bob's famous "mice". And it only gets better from there. All your standard breakfast fare, prepared however you ask. And weekend specials like biscuits and gravy that basically can serve as your entire meal for the day, they're that good! My favorite is the Loaded Potatoes - home fries with peppers and onions and cheese, plus mixed veggies or ham. Or both, if you really want it that way (and they're happy to oblige). Of course, you have to have one of their biscuits, regardless. There are nary a few that can make a Southern biscuit better than PAGG. They close for a much-needed 2-week Summer vacation, but you can bet we'll be there waiting when they reopen.

The biscuits come a close second to my Mama's! No joke, it is worth the drive from Buckhead to Decatur to this biscuit Mecca. The Decatur Arts Festival was today-the perfect excuse to get out of bed and fuel up for the day at Pastries A Go Go. There is a great little patio, and a splendid little display case inside the front door to hypnotize you while you wait for a table (Blueberry muffins, tiny little butter frosting cakes... mmmmmm!). The wait was about 5 minutes. The servers are very friendly, and I kept looking as they passed by to serve the tables around us with huge omelets, french toast, and biscuits the size of my hand. My biscuit arrived and it was spectacular! Fluffy, buttery, & melt- in -your mouth delicious. I noticed a little trend at other tables. A big napkin wrapped around the biscuits to take them home for later. Not me--I've learned to skip the home fries, grits, and other fillers and focus on the biscuit!!

Well, I had previously written a review for this place but I can't remember how many stars I gave them! However, I went past their storefront the other day and got a rude shock. They had taped a notice to the front door advising all their customers that because of the recession and higher food prices, Pastries A Go Go would be raising the prices on all their menu items. Okay, I get it. The recession is still a big deal but raising prices on your already pricey food? I could understand it if the portion sizes were a bit bigger but the amount of food you get for the price you end up paying is a laugh. And not the humorous kind of laugh. So, I just snuck a peek at their "new and improved menu" and nearly fell on the ground. Their Southern Breakfast which consists of two eggs any style, home fries or grits, toast or biscuit is now $9.00! Nine dollars! Unbelievable! For a bit less than that you can go to Thumbs Up Diner and get a helluva lot more food than that. They do have some good cookies and pastries and I will still buy those on occasion but count me out for those ridiculous prices on everything else. Oh, yeah, two weeks ago I was in there for breakfast (I was desperate and needed food fast) and ordered a glass of chocolate milk. It was not a very tall glass--and it was $2.95! Pastries A Go Go? More like, Pastries A No No!

This is my absolute favorite casual brunch place in Atlanta. I loved it when it was across the street in a very small space with plastic curtains around the doors and the air conditioning that worked overtime to keep all of us waiting around comfortable. You must try the sticky bun that is served gooey, messy, and warm, and big enough to split with a friend. It's just not right how tasty it is. If you get there after 10-11am, you may be out of luck...sometimes they run out, and I have shed a tear or two from the disappointment. Their biscuits are light and fluffy, bacon, thick, smoky, and salty. Everything is perfectly seasoned, even the chunky potatoes that other places leave bland. The owner/pastry chef makes exquisite desserts, so take some home. If at all possible, go before 9am when the wait is manageable. If you can remember one thing from my review, remember the sticky bun.

I have visited Dacatur from CA twice now, and have freidns take me to this place both times. It is no much to look at, not style whatso ever, utilitarian at best, metal chaire, plain square tables. But there are some places you can over look the such things because the food is such a wonderful experience. And this is one of those places. WE waited a good hour for a table, they said 20 minutes when we came in. But the food was definitely worth the wait. This tiime I got the Egggs Benedict, YUM, Anne got an omletter, light and flufffy and made with real cream!

I love this place - it's one of the few local joints that me and the BF actually agree on. I'm a true carb-ivore, and I absolutely LOVE their biscuits! The Flying Biscuit ain't got nothin' on PAGG's biscuits! They are huge (this is important), warm & soft on the inside and very flavorful. Too many biscuits taste like cooked dough - no flavor at all, might as well eat flour straight from the bag. But that is not the case at this joint. I also love their hashbrowns and sausage patties - it's so much food that when I eat there that is the ONLY meal I have all day! I go for brunch and I'm good til morning - no joke!

This place's biscuits are like a religion for my family. Every Sunday, without fail, we order takeout from this place. On a groggy morning, their sausage, egg and cheese biscuit is better than manna from heaven, but I've really never had anything from their menu that wasn't tasty. Absolutely the best brunch option in the Atlanta area.

Cheap breakfast sandwiches on excellent biscuits (no need for the flying variety!), Dancing Goats coffee, huge top notch muffins, all within walking distance of home. Thank you, Pastries A Go Go.

Solid goodness... for breakfast. I had the egg' s Benedict, and was pleasantly surprised at how well it went with the biscuits it sat on. The ham that accompanied the egg's B.. was yummy. The coffee was just coffee to me, but maybe I don't know the difference, not like a coffee connoisseur. My friend had the egg's bacon, and plain bagel.. and it was very good, he even commented on how delicious the bacon was.. nice thick, and crispy... The location is great with ample parking, and after wards we strolled around downtown Decatur to work off the food. I would love to come here with friends on a weekend.. it's not pretentious, but do send someone to come a little earlier to write down a name.. then they can walk around , maybe go to CVS to keep themselves busy hehhe.. Cause it's busy, I came and there was a 15-20 minute wait so I grabbed coffee and waited for my friend outside .. wish they had put out the tables so I could have sat with my coffee. OH .. Side Note.. Thank you so much to Leah F. for recommending me this place..

Yum! My groovy cousin took me and my sister there one Saturday...it was delish! We did wait a long time, but during the wait, we strolled to a really cute store just down the strip and I purchased little cat earrings...so cute! Oh okay back to the point... The food is really tasty here and reasonably priced...DO IT! Visit Count: 1

Eating in Decatur is so much fun! Great choices for every meal. PAGG is a fav and tied with Thumbs Up fir breakfast. Sweet Melissa is also in the running. Love PAGG 4 great carbs like panckes, biscuits, potatoes and their pastries, I also can behave and have a egg white Greek omelet and cup of fruit. They serve delicious Dancing Goats coffee and have outdoor seating. I agree that their inside is nothing special but I have always had friendly service..

Still love this place. We go with our baby almost on a weekly basis, and some of the waitresses know him by name. The staff is always friendly, and their food is very consistent. On weekdays I love their Sandwich a Go Go Sandwich, because I get a yummy cookie at the end, although I never seem to be able to finish it, it's great later too. My sides is salad and fruit. The salad isn't your typical side salad, it actually has huge pieces of lettuce with sprouts, red onions etc mixed with any of their dressings, all made in house! And on the weekends, you get their eggs benedict. No one makes eggs benedict that them. We have scoured Atlanta for someone to top it, but haven't succeeded, including top rated brunch places like Ria's Bluebird and Highland Bakery.

Pastries a Go Go is fantastic for brunch. I often order the yummy veggie omelet or Greek salad (attempting to be healthy) but then can't refuse the warm, gooey cinnabuns (they even have nuts!). The gourmet coffee is also a must. You will be torn while examining the tantalizing menu. Everything is so good! Decisions, decisions. It's a hard life....

I would say this is one of my favorite places to go to brunch in Decatur. The eggs benedict is absolutely fabulous and it comes with (depending on your choice of side) a HUGE cup of seasonal fruit . I've been probably 20 times and never disappointed. The only downfall is that there's usually a pretty long wait for Saturday/Sunday brunches -as you'd expect, but at least they serve excellent coffee while you wait.

good sandwhiches. be careful though, they give you too much freedom. and freedom of design can easily lead to failure. i always catch my friends getting mushy stuff (like tuna) on hard breads (like baget). As soon as they bite into it all the mushy stuff shoots out. all my friends absolutly love they're chicken salad, i have no opinion..

Pastries A Go Go is the best! I can't recommend them strongly enough for wedding and special occasion cakes. Bob did our wedding cakes, and they were gorgeous. More importantly, they were delicious; we still hear about them from our friends. Bob listened to exactly what we wanted and created two custom recipes. The cakes were so high-quality - rich, light, moist and delicious - and we paid much less than we would have anywhere else in town. Recently, Bob baked a "replica" cake for our first anniversary. It was a custom job, with special ingredients they don't normally sell - and he did it for $16. Go here for wedding cakes, birthdays, anniversaries, and you won't be disappointed.

I'm most unhappy. It was confusing when I went in the door; the only option seemed to be to stand in line at the counter with the people ordering takeout, only to be told that someone else would seat me. What's wrong with a "Please wait to be seated" sign? I've had pastries from Pastries A Go Go before, and they were really delicious - I expected to have a good lunch here. First of all, the fries came out smelling like a carnival - like the oil they were fried in was really old and nasty, and the fries themselves were mealy inside. I only ate about 5 of those - but I'm still re-experiencing them 4 hours later as I write this review. The club sandwich was okay, but nothing special. I asked for rye bread - I expected better bread from a bakery. What I got was pretty flavorless. I asked for "everything" on my club sandwich, and was told they were out of sprouts. I received a mushy winter tomato slice, a clump of onions all on one side of the sandwich, bacon which was okay, about a teaspoon of turkey shreds and the rectangular, compressed ham you find in the cold cuts aisle of the grocery store. It was all held together with some heavy-duty, oily mayonnaise. The iced tea was okay, but it came in a plastic lunchroom-type tumbler that looked about 20 years old - it was visibly chipped all around the edge, like a 3-year old had been gnawing on it. I looked at other people's tumblers and they looked the same, though, so all I can surmise is that they bought the tumblers used from a primary school cafeteria, or they have a mega-duty dishwasher that blasts them until they chip. I had a lemon butter cookie that was fine, nothing special, but tasted like the base of a black-and-white cookie without the frosting; it wasn't very sweet or lemony, just kind of cakey. I'm giving two stars because this place is okay if you're just hungry and need to grab a sandwich somewhere. But with so many other great places in this area, I don't think I'll be going back.

This was my second time visiting this establishment. The first time was cool, the waitress was nice and the food was good. This time the food was good but the service was ridiculous. The waitress seemed like she did not want to be there and treated us like it was our fault that she had to work there. Then she did not ask if we needed anything else, she just brought out the check and was upset because we wanted to order dessert. After ordering the dessert she brought the ticket and walked away. Ten minutes later she still was no where in sight. It was obvious that we were ready to leave when she dropped the tickets off since we had our jackets on and our bags on our shoulders. Anyway, after not seeing her for a while (and we had to get to work) I walked up to the counter and asked the manager if he could check us out. Without even looking at me he said (in a rude, disgusted tone) "give it to your server". I tried to explain that she was no where in sight and we had to leave. He did not even acknowledge my presence and walked away shaking his head like I was the most disgusting creature that he ever laid eyes on. Needless to say I would never go back there. Nothing is worth being treated like that.
