The day has finally arrived: the Little Caesars in the shopping plaza across from Publix (alternatively known as the shopping plaza with ChocoLaté and Rainbow Natural Foods) has opened! I haven't had Little Caesars since I was a little kid back in northeast Ohio, so my response to the appearance of the Little Caesars sign above the storefront back in July was one of glee. Yes, there's also Athens Pizza House, Pizza K, and Rocco's at the various coordinates of the intersection of Clairmont Ave and North Decatur Rd, but none of those restaurants have called my name in the three years I've lived nearby. Little Caesars, on the other hand, has been piquing my desire for pizza twice daily on my walk to and from campus. Today was their first day open and their two promo guys were swinging signs all over the place, drawing attention to the fact that one can get a $5 large cheese or pepperoni pizza without any wait. Which is exactly what I did. And then I walked home and devoured three appropriately-portioned slices. The crust was not too thick and not too thin, the pepperoni was ample, the sauce had just a bit of kick to it, and the pizza wasn't too greasy. Perfect! I didn't order any crazy bread, but after I paid, the very sweet woman who worked the register gave me a coupon for a 99 cent 8 piece order of crazy bread and crazy sauce to be redeemed with the purchase of a $5 "Hot-N-Ready" pizza. Oh Little Caesars... I fear I might be seeing a lot of you in my future this academic school year! There isn't a seating area, so be prepared to take it home or to sit on the benches by Rainbow or Suno. Also, for the love of God, if you leave the plaza in a vehicle, please don't try and turn left out of the parking lot onto North Decatur Rd. Turn right on Clairmont and follow Webster back to the light, where one can turn left without causing a traffic mess.

Good for a quick pizza. Nothing too special but it is cheap so that is a plus. My only real complaint is that I went in to get a $5 Hot-n-Ready pizza but my pizza wasn't ready so I had to wait about 5 minutes for a fresh one. The pizza was hot, though.

Not a huge fan of their pizza, although it's good for quick and cheap when you're hungry or have the "munchies". And I got some wings from this place recently that were pretty damn OK. Wings! Wings! Who knew?

How can you not be a fan of the $5 pizza and $2 breadsticks? They are always hot and the cheese is always perfectly melted on top. Oh, you know what else they have for FREE?!?! (This is for all of the parents). They have "Pizza Pizza" Little Caesar bags of cookies for kids. All you need to do is ask for them. ' Yes, I know this meal might not sound like the healthiest, but bring it home, make a salad, serve some cut up fruit and there is dinner for the kids in a few minutes. Everyone is happy! Oh, I forgot! I asked if they would deliver pizzas to my daughter's party. They were more than happy to do it and did not charge me for delivery. Awesome in my book!

Get yourself a Hot n Ready pizza (cheese or pepperoni) for just $5. Works for any occasion. Need lunch? $5 pizza. Going to hang at friends house? $5 pizza. Need to bring something to a party? $5 pizza. For $5, there is never a wrong time to get pizza. Sometimes, if me and some friends are going to eat in the area, we will pick up a $5 pizza as an appetizer. I wish I were joking about this. Is pizza any good? It's not bad. But the price, who really cares?
