My 16 yr old nephew is a fan of this place. He began eating this when living in Dallas and puts it on his checklist when visiting me in Chicago. We were leaving Home Depot which is on the other side of I 20 when he spotted it. He lit up!! Given we were headed to dinner somewhere else, I assured him he'd get his fish on the bone experience the next day for lunch. Drive thru has a sign that says call the number shown to place a drive thru order! After I finished laughing, I decided he should go in. It was so empty I thought it was closed. The windows were tinted and I couldn't see inside. And the store hours sign made no sense. It was clearly missing numbers. It said it opened at 1 and closed at 1 on Sundays. He was more than willing to get out and check and it was open. I have no interest in fish on a bone but decided to take a bite so I could properly review this meal. After all, I am paying for it so it's worth a review. The catfish dinner was $7.99 which were two whole pieces of fish!!! I posted pictures of the meal. I found it to be scary but he ate it all. If you like whole fried fish, this is your spot!

I could eat here EVERY.DAY. EVERYDAY. The food is sooooo good. I don't get to the Chi or Atlanta that often, but when I do I make my way to J&J. Unlike Harold's they know how to fry some fish!!! OMG!!! The food is sooooooo fresh and sooo inexpensive! I could literally eat this every day of my life. I'm really serious. I usually get the catfish, but the last time I went I got the catfish and perch combo ( because I was being greedy) and yes. It was delicious. From the coleslaw to the white bread, everything is fried to perfection. This place stays busy because it's just that amazing. And affordable. Highly recommend if you're in Decatur.

Catfish and Fries combo was fresh and very tasty. I will definitely be back for more. I will probably try the whiting plate. Hope that the Whiting Special will be a winner too!

It was tasty.. I only had clams and fries my daughter had wings and said they were delicious especially with the lemon pepper seasoning..... I watched people patiently waiting for their orders that they were taking home..I assume it was good because of the crowd. All in all.. It was good. Living ITP fried chicken to me equated to Publix ( the best btw) .. I end this with I felt the frying oil tasted old.... That's just me.

Atlantalicious!!!! Traveling to Texas, stopped ....what a find! Before your eyes mouth watering....no kitchen to hid in. Cook with gloves in plain eyesight....locals stopping in left and right lined up .....no fast food properly cooked,worth the wait. Fried no baked...this was my treat after a vegan vacation. Catfish ,chicken,hush puppies ,oysters,perch,tilapia ,crawfish....oh wow!

Talking about savoring for a mid day snack. When you haven't ate all day, he BBQ isn't ready at the family house, desperate times comes for desperate measures. What do I think of J&J? Here are some words - "EXTRAVAGANT!", "SCRUMTOUS", "SALIVATING", " SATISFIYING" Got to love those non-franchise spots peoples!!!!! Here's what you do when you are on the east side of town. Hop off 20, bust a youie (u turn in the middle of Wesley Chapel and feast on the beast fish sammiches in Decatur. Look forward to comin back to try more items because the price can't be beat along with good food. I can see a future update on this spot for a 5th star especially when Quantity over Quality exists! Grade: B (On point :)

I could sum this place up in one word: nasty. The whiting had a fishy aftertaste, the fries were soggy, and it tasted like they used old grease to fry the food. The only reason I gave two stars instead of one was the coleslaw. It was actually pretty good, albeit miniscule proportion wise. I will never eat here again.

First of all this place is NOT IN THE HOOD! WTF! It's off of Wesley Chapel Road in Decatur, GA. Now a few exits up I-20 To Candler Rd, yeah...that's the hood. You people crack me up! "The hood" LOLOL Educators, politicians, accountants, police officers, doctors and lawyers live within a few miles of this place. Don't let the media fool you! You run the risk of having your purse snatched out side of Stone Crest Mall than you do here. The hood! *SMH* Anyway, the fried wings are awesome. These are most likely what your mother fried back in the day, whole wings, seasoned floured and fried whole. The french fries are also amazing and really in expensive. You can get an entire styro-foam take out container loaded with them for just four bucks!

There were only two people working. I'm not sure if this is the normal schedule or what. I've only been once. The service was slow but the food was good and plentiful. I will be back for more. The cakes were not all that great ( in my opinion ). I also think this spot is open late ( drive thru only ).

It's in the hood. I clenched my purse while I waited. But it was soooo worth risking my life! Go here for Awesome fish. Places like this are hard to come by where you get quality fish, a great quanity, and great prices!! I will definitely be back much sooner thank later! Thumbs up and definitely 5 stars for this place!

The fried fish is typical. But the fried shrimp and wings is the business. Wings like your momma made them not them college dorm wings but the real wings.
