Mamma Mia! Always enjoy coming here: great calzones, good hot subs, fantastic pizza, and tasty salads, the greek salad is a real touch of class. It's my top pizza place in the ATL. The patio is always a chill spot to have a few slices and down a few beers. The white pizza pie with spinach, artichoke, and tomatoes is what I dove into this time and it was a taste surprise of the most welcomed kind. Oh, Fellini's Pizza which another reviewer spoke of, it tastes like cardboard and it only has one salad which is just a bunch of bad iceberg and a dressing of undetermined origin. How that place appears to gain more locations each time I visit this city speaks to the ATL's questionable culinary destiny.

Meh, I've had better. Despite the mixed reviews, I decided to try it out because it's near my house, and I haven't seen any other place in Atlanta that has a Buffalo chicken sub listed on their menu. I got take out, which I was glad I for. While I waited for my food, it was obvious that service lacked simply by looking at the faces of the diners. They had that abandoned look. Anyway, I get home, open my sub and find......a chicken Philly sub?? Damn, they gave me someone else's sub. I tried to call back several times but the phone line was busy and gave up. Chicken filly was okay, not great and not bad. We also sampled the pretzels. Just okay. No seasoning, some butter on the bottom. Thank goodness we had some marinara on hand bc pretzels don't come with any, which they should if they don't have any seasoning on them. My husband got a calzone with a few extra topping. It was huge and bland. The ratio of dough to filling was absurd. Overall, where's the seasoning? Garlic, salt, pepper, oregano, red pepper flakes -- where are you??

Love the laid-back atmosphere and the food! It's very unpretentious, solid pizza and calzones. Drink a beer and chill for awhile. :) Service has always been great and I've never ordered something I didn't like. Good pizza. Whaddaya want? ;)

Love the bar, meh on the pizza. O'Keefe's bar and Avondale Pizza Cafe are joined together. Great bar with good prices and friendly attentive staff. So far have eaten here only once recently. Our pizza was OK. The crust is very good, the ingredients were fresh, but the sauce is nothing to write home about. We'll be back to try other menu items--we like the staff and like to support local businesses--but will get our pizza elsewhere in Avondale or Decatur (Savage, Fellinis, Mellow Mushroom).

I love Avondale Pizza Cafe the MOST!! Fresh ingredients, tasty sauce, and the crust is fluffy. always receive quick service. Request: Please offer delivery! When I finally break down and succumb to my pizza cravings, I just want it delivered to my door.

really disappointed LOVED the SUPRIMO white pizza--lots of sundries tomatoes, cheeses and artichokes but now that pizza's changed the tomatoes are fresh, the artichokes are few the taste and flavor not nearly the same so...if the ingredients cost more, raise the price but don't skimp the only advantage I see is that they don't have to change the menu for new prices very disappointed...wont make the trip to avondale states for pizza again.

This review is strictly for the service, not the food. When we were done eating, we needed to leave relatively quickly. We've always been able to walk up to the register and pay. The cashier told a member of our party that "you have to pay your server". She did not bother to say anything like "I'll send her right over". I went up, upset because this young lady was not only rude, she was rude to someone that has difficulty walking. Instead of apologizing or being nice (you know, customer service), she told me not to come up with attitude. Our server then thought it was a good idea to jump into the conversation and say the same thing. This continued on until I asked for a manager, at which point the cashier told me that was not necessary. She continued to argue, so I just spoke over her and said, twice, that I wanted to speak to the manager. When he came out, he also made excuses instead of just apologizing, taking care of the of the issue, and moving on. The cashier gave the most insincere apology ever, and kept arguing with me. I've never had these kinds of issues, and I hope I never do again. At least the food was good.

This place never disappoints. Every time I've ordered there (for pick up or in house) has been amazingly delicious. What I love about this place is the consistency of the food. It's always good. The staff is friendly and the kitchen cranks out the orders fast. Their subs (toasted) are seriously one of the best I've ever had. They are right up there with Chicago's PotBelly, which was my original gold standard for toasted subs. Now this place is. Highly recommend the Club Sub (toasted) and the Avalanche pizza.

My prior review was a little tepid- I gotta say that lately the pizza has been terrific - crispy and delicious. We stop by a lot more than time to time and it has become one of my favorite, most consistently good pizza choices. My favorite is my own special -no mozz, feta, tomato sauce, bacon and spinach. Omg - so crisp and tasty. Decent well priced drinks - full bar, fresh salads, and yummy brunswick stew is great on a cold night. Mary Beth on Mondays and CT Mike on Sunday's will take good care of you. Sidle ion up to the bar on the O'Keefe side for grownup relaxation in a neighborhood pub setting.

The only reason we decided to try this place was because of the GLOWING reviews.. Which im confused about because this place really isn't that great. . Moving along.. The pizza slices were HUGE. Which is good , However, the pizza was a tad bit undercooked.. Which is.... Not good. We also tried the wings, which were bland and barely seasoned or sauced. Very bad . on the bright side, the service was OK. I will not be returning.

Nothing fancy, but the price is right. Every time we have come, the food, is hot, fresh, and tasty. Service is friendly and the atmosphere is just right for a neighborhood pizza place.

Honestly, had to move the rating down because of bad experience the last time because there is NO excuse for bad customer service if you're a regular customer who orders the same thing daily for the past few months. We always get the same thing all the time when coming. I usually meet my hubby for dinner. His usual is ice tea and hot wings. I ordered pepperoni calzone. For some reason, the sweet tea was a little off this particular night. The sweet waitress, Kelly, who usually know husband and his co-workers' orders was there. He told Kelly about it and she acted like he troubled her so much, sighing, and giving mean looks. She came back with another cup of green tea and slammed it down. How rude. I don't care how busy (which wasn't at all) or what a bad day you had, you could fake it out and be nice to your customers, especially if they're your regular. My hubby does not have Yelp but I do and I will talk about it. He is not the type to complain and is patient, especially at waitresses because he know they are underpaid but there is NO excuse for bad customer service. None. Zero. Nada. The food is is still good, that's why they come on a reguar. However, now, he and his co-workers refuse to come back...EVER. They lost their regular customers. It may not be a big deal that they lost 6 customers but they need to get their act together to keep customers loyal.

This is a good place to stop in with family especially if you have kids. They have some tasty pretzels and sandwiches. I haven't had any of the pasta to make any comments. The wraps were not what I was expecting so I would not recommended ordering on a personal note. The pizza is tasty and loaded with the toppings that you order. Also if you order a side item you get your moneys worth. It can be a little crazy if you try to order something for take out on lunch, they get busy. Usually they get the order correct. The staff is pretty friendly and they care that you have a good experience and want to come back. It is a place I am happy to go for a meal.

Yes yes yes! Cheap, delicious NY style pizza. Finally. Good pizza in Atlanta. And it's near my house. Ahhh...I've waited a year for this. This place is pretty unassuming. It's located in a strip mall. There's carpet on the floors. The decor is...I don't know. It's not good. It reminded me of every family pizza joint I went to as a kid in Iowa. But that gave me a damn good feeling about the place bc the Midwest has GOOD pizza. And I wasn't wrong. We ordered a large sausage and onion 'za [holy grail of pizza - must order at every new pizza place as a test] for less than $14.50. Great price for the quality ingredients that came with. Real cheese. Homemade crust. Slightly sweet sauce (key). Heavily seasoned ground sausage (I love it!) and sweet slices of onion. We also ordered onion rings and wings. The rings were fine - frozen, but fine. The wings were really good, they just need to cook them a little longer to get a better crisp on the skin. Focus on the pizza here - it's all that matters.

I cannot be happier with this pizza cafe, and I am so lucky to live in walking distance. The food is always fresh and made in house from scratch. I'm particularly impressed with the freshness and "realness" of their tomatoes. When I get subs at any other place, I can't stand having tomatoes on them because they always taste like... Well, not like a tomato. Like fake. But the gigantic, fresh tomatoes at APC transport me back to my grandpas garden in rural Romania. So far I've had their salads, pizza, pretzels, and subs. And they're all so good that I have a hard time deciding what to order, each time. Besides the excellent food, the service is fast and courteous, and the prices are definitely fair. Definitely worth your time and money.

We were surprised how good the pizza was. Pasta was good too. The place needs to be cleaned up and upgraded as it looks so bad. For a casual night out this will be in our list since it is close to home.

Not bad, not amazing. Been craving good pizza, especially NY pizza. Got the lunch special, 2 one topping pizzas and a drink for $5.99. Price was not bad and the slices were big. Crust was a little puffier than I would like. Got one with extra cheese and the other with onions. Pizza came out quick and at glance noticed that they probably have cheese pizzas made ahead and add the toppings. The pizza was a bit dry and burnt on some parts of the crust. The bottom was a bit burnt. Wonder if ordering a full size pizza would remove these issues. Regardless, I was just whelmed. Not over or underwhelmed, but just whelmed. I will check another pizza place to reference my experience. However, it still seems I need to order my NY and Chicago pizzas online to get authentic slices from those cities - they are just costly so I don't do it often.

Just moved to the area, and stopped by last week after a long day. I sat at the bar, and watched the hawks game with what seemed like a pretty regular crew. Everyone was really friendly, and the food was really, really good! Another nice little gem in the Avondale Estates area.

Why 4 Stars.......Because its a small local establishment with a friendly staff, cold beer and well above average pizza. We stopped by as a traffic diversion and ordered a pie and a couple of beers. The pizza was a thin crust peperoni with sausage and green peppers crispy with a nice crusty char. This place is more dive than high-class dine, but the people are welcoming, the service fast so stop in and enjoy.

I would give this place 5 stars but they don't deliver (their yelp page and website are out of date). The times that I have eaten here it has been delicious. I love their calzones. And the salads are quite good as well. Hoping they get delivery again soon!

We went here last night for the first time ever even though my friend lives very close by. 6 of us me up and had a great night and I'm delighted as it was my idea. :) Meridith was our server and she was the only one on duty so she was bartender also. Its in a strip mall having being forced to relocate. You walk in the door and to the right is a room a cafe like place, if you stay in the bar there are tables and booths and of course you can sit at the bar also. We opted to stay in this area as it looked to have more athmosphere. There is an Irish flag hanging and O'Keefe's written on the wall. I was very confused and as Im Irish born and still live there I asked? the owner's name is O'Keefe, thats where the Irishness ends. The beer was on sale for $7 a pitcher so the guys opted for that, I stuck to my bottled beer. One of us had a can of English cider, unless you like tart cider don't have this. I love my cider and this was not good at all. We ordered the White pizza pie, thin crust with spinach, tomatoes and artichokes, we added bacon, olives and something else and it was to did for. This pizza is only available in large and not by the slice. We also ordered a large Greek salad and this was enough for 5 people. All in all it was a great meal and we will definitely be back.

I was expecting at least decent food based on the other reviews here, but was disappointed. The service was good, food was pretty terrible. I had an oreo cheesecake and bf had two slices of pepperoni. The slices were large but dry, tasteless and overall poor quality cheese and pepperoni. If you're looking for pizza, Fellini's and Mellow Mushroom's pizza is much much better. The oreo cheesecake was just sad. The oreos and the crust were soggy, the cheesecake was warm. It was not fresh and had probably been sitting out for a while. I ate as much as I could but really couldn't finish it. Will not be back again.

Came here after Wild Heaven for some pizza mid day on a Saturday. It was nice to see some TVs with some college football but I waited at a table for more than 5 minutes and no one came to greet us. I went up to the register to place our order but the waitress told me she would come take our order and bring us drinks. After another 5-10 minutes, no one came to greet us still so we left. With that kind of service, I question the product and length of time to receive the order.

Pizza was good but not great. The center of the pizza was very soggy, making it difficult to eat. However, service and cleanliness of the building was great. Only went once, so maybe the next pizza would be better.

I decided I needed to nosh after a show at the nearby Academy Theatre. My yelp app suggested this place might still be open, so I buzzed right on over. And I'm glad I did. The atmosphere is laid-back, shares an open wall with the neighboring, neighborhood pub, and just seems like a cool place to hang out. I was about to order a small pizza and take part of it home, until I realized they do pizza by the slice. I then ordered two slices of pizza, topped with mushrooms and onions. Now please hear the distinction I'm about to try to articulate: The pizza is fantastic. The sauce is right. Hot & fresh is the name of the game, even at that late hour. I'll go back just for the pizza alone. The thing I didn't like: toppings were uncooked onions and mushrooms (fresh though they were, indeed) piled on top of the pizza. I'm sure this is simply the mechanics of how a by-the-slice pizza gets made, but I don't like the end results. Throw some more cheese on there. Or use some grilled onions & mushrooms or something. Or maybe next time I'll show up with a posse and we'll order an entire pie. Because the pizza underneath those toppings was really, very good.

Coming from a city, New Haven, that makes the best pizza in the country, I've always believed that it's hard to find good pizza in Atlanta. This place consistently makes a good pie in addition to delicious salads and sandwiches. I love the pizza crust as it is always crispy and not too thick. The slice holds up well even when it has a lot of toppings. Good prices. Great service. Try a slice of the Cafe Combo. Amaze balls!

This place has pretty good food. I really enjoyed my veggie burger. They are getting two stars because their poor customer service. I've been to this establish twice and I've encountered the same bad attitudes. I'm a vegan and asked for no cheese on my veggie burger and no butter on the bun. The first time they brought it out to me with cheese remnants. When I asked for a new one both servers acted like rectifying the mistake was a huge inconvenience. On my second visit I tried to explain about no cheese and the mistake that was made previously. The server rolled her eyes and walked away WHILE I was still talking. Needless to say, I will be speaking to the manager and possibly not returning.

OMG is the only thing I can say about the food! I had the house salad with blue cheese and the meat lovers slice. AMAZING! I came here for lunch with a party of 7. I wish I had more time to really kick back and enjoy. My only issue was the service. Didn't give a complete explanation of the menu or the daily special. After I ordered and re-read the menu I learned I could indeed order something that she told me I couldn't. Then had to chase her around to change my order. And she failed to give us refills on our drinks. She would only do it if we asked. One person would ask and then she would refill that person and walk off. EVERY TIME. That was crazy! But the food was awesome! So I'll be back. Without question!

The first time I stopped by this place, it struck me as your run-of-the-mill family pizza joint. It's not fine dining by any means, there's a stuffed animal claw machine in one corner of the slightly dated dining room, and a very casual crowd. I honestly wasn't expecting much when I walked in, but that's what the beauty of this place is. You could pick this strip mall pizza joint up and place it in any suburban community without anyone really noticing, but after trying the food, you'd have a really tough time matching it. Their pizza is a classic New York style, but unlike most soggy, floppy imitations in Atlanta, they actually get a firm crisp to the bottom of their crust. The tomato sauce is thick enough to stay in one place, but distributes well with each bite. The mozzarella is cooked at that just right temperature that gives the cheese those little browned bubbles throughout the pie, while being consistent throughout the whole pie. I would put their pizza up against a lot in Atlanta, and I'm confident that they'd fare well against pizza that is priced at a much higher price point with a much hipper atmosphere. The only reason it's just shy of 5 stars would be the neighborhood and the slightly dated feel of the spot....when it comes to their pizza, this place is worth skipping one of your usual Decatur haunts to try. The prices are low enough to make you keep coming back. Hopefully these guys will start delivery again, I'll definitely keep doing take-out until then!

If I had to sum up this place in 10 words, it'd be, "Skip this place and go to Savage Pizza around the corner." OK, I think that's 11 words, but you get my point. I was totally underwhelmed by this place. From the 7th grade school lunch flavor of the pizza slices to the not-medium-when-I-asked-for-medium hamburger, this place is just not the business.

One of my favorite places to go. Being a misplaced native New Yorker, a good slice of pizza is few and far between anywhere else. This place has got the recipe figured out and I love it!

Love coming here for lunch! The food is good and consistent. They have several lunch specials like one slice, salad, and drink for $5.99 or two slices and drink for $5.99. The servers are friendly and usually give good service even when they get busy at lunchtime. On nice days, there is an outside patio area. Unfortunately, though, the food usually does take a while to come out, so I plan for a long lunch when I come here. It's worth the wait but it's not a "quick" lunch place.

I've sampled a fair amount of pizza in Atlanta, and Avondale Pizza Cafe stands near the top. It has a humble exterior, a comfortable interior, and solid NY-style pizza. I've ordered by the slice and by the pie, and the high quality has been consistent. The wait staff is also friendly. If you're in the area and looking for a good slice, give it a shot.

So, I haven't been to APC since I was in high school, so imagine my confusion when I didn't find it where I left it!! For those of you who are in my shoes, it's now over across from the WaHo in the same strip as the Sal Army and Our Way. The good news? The location has changed but the food hasn't! J and I headed out to use up a Savage Pizza gift certificate and got all the way to Avondale before we realized that neither of us had grabbed said certificate. Being as he loves a good pizza, I had a Scoutmob, and we'd been meaning to anyway, we decided to go for APC. Great choice!! The pretzels are delish (how can you go wrong with buttery bread?), the salad was plentiful (I made two meals out of a medium!) and the pizza was enough to feed a small country! We spent $35 before the Scoutmob and are still eating off of it! We got the BBQ Chicken Pizza and it was great; a nice hint of mustard bite without too much to overwhelm the soft crust and the rest of the flavor in the sauce. Our servers were great, we never lacked for something to wash it all down, and I adored the choice of B98.5's Big 80's Weekend on the stereo! We'll definitely be heading back there at some point to try out some more enormous pizza!

Nothing but good things to say about Avondale pizza, great pie, good service a nice place to meet and kick back with friends. I was out of country for a while so when I got back and they were not in the old location I thought another good one bites the dust. Ran across an old friend and after talking about a place to grab a good beer and catch up on old times, to my pleasure they told me that AP was alive and kicking and still turning out some tasty pies!

We love this place. Consistently good food, never had bad service. We typically like to build our own pizza - ham, bacon, green olive, extra done, double cut. They ALWAYS get it right, though there was the one mixup substituting bacon for broccoli! Haha, no big deal whatsoever. You cannot beat the the Tue/Thur beer specials. Very laid back, a lot of regulars, darn good pizza:)

This place is definitely a great spot for Pizza and wings in Avondale. They have fantastic wings here the staff is really nice and the price is right. They have Sunday ticket for football so I'll come over here to check out the games sometime. Go for the Avalanche pizza or the BBQ chicken, those are my favorites!

I've been jonesing for some pizza similar to a place back home called Pizza Oven (Canton, Ohio). This is the closest I've come to it for only one reason - the sausage! They use ground sausage which seems to be cooked and seasoned in house. I say this because that's how they do it back home, and this tastes just as good as that! The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 - I prefer a sicilian crust and provolone cheese. Normally, I don't like the NY style crust that seems to be prevalent in Atlanta these days. I also normally don't like to get slices because you can tell they've been half baked, topped, then baked again. I didn't notice that with the slice I got today. It was huge, crunchy, and yummy! No skimping on the toppings or cheese, and it was nice and fresh. Haven't tasted the salad yet. I got a small and there's enough meat and cheese to make a sub out of! Do wish they'd cut it smaller tho...would make the salad easier to eat. :) Also, the employees were super nice and very helpful and patient! It was my first visit and I didn't feel rushed looking over the menu like you do in some places.

We dominated a large with sausage, pepperonis, and mushrooms last night. 4 dollar house margaritas thursdays got my girl feeling great. Even recent promotion of scoutmod, the wait staff prepped for it and delivered a flawless experience. A little hole in the wall, that turns out to be a large cave, with great chill family local style atmosphere. "For what it is, 5 stars"

I've been to this restaurant before, but it had been over a year before Scoutmob brought us back. We went in on a Sunday night, and I was a little distrubed to see that although only half the tables were taken, the other half had not been cleared from previous guests. It was seat yourself, so we wandered around to find a clean empty table. Once found, the experience improved. Our waitress was quick and helpful. And the pizza really was very good. Definitely quality ingredients. We got a medium with roasted red peppers, pepperoni, sun-dried tomatoes, and artichokes and every topping was doled out in excess. A medium nicely filled us both up, and with the Scoutmob, a really good deal for $10! We sat beside the bar, which was half-filled with people watching the Braves game. It was obvious that this was a neighborhood-friendly place where locals often hang out.

APC has finally moved across the street into the strip mall with Our Way Café, Subway and Salvation Army. I'm not sure exactly when they moved, but I think they have been there for less than a month. It is a lot bigger and doesn't have the comfy vibe of the old APC, but it is pretty nice actually. Everything looks (and smells - mmm paint) pretty new. There is a pretty large space when you walk in with a few tables and a lot of booths along the wall. There are some TVs there and the counter is also there. Behind that space is another room that is closed off. This room is smaller and just has tables set up. It also has garage doors so I'm guessing this room with be open air when the weather is better. This is where they do trivia now. The kitchen is much bigger and better than the old one. Also, there is a bar area adjacent to the main room now which is directly connected and seems to just be part of the restaurant. It has its own name though (O'Keefe's I think). They have some new staff, but some of the old crew is still there as well. Service was actually really good for us - probably even better than the old place. I'd pretty much disregard that 0/1 orangehead review as I've been to APC dozens of times and haven't had anything like that happen ever. Given the timing of that review I'd guess they were transitioning out of the old location and into the new one and therefore deserve a little slack in my opinion. They have tables & seating and new menus as well, but the food is still the same. I had a calzone - it's pretty good and huge, but the proportion of dough to filling is still unbalanced (too much dough for the amount of cheese/toppings). The pizza and salads are identical to the ones at the old location. I'd say the new location is not as comfy as the old one and lacks the awesome patio but I bet the back room will be nice when it gets a little warmer. Overall, it's bigger and arguably better than the old location. 3.5

The pizza was just "eh"... the service was slow... I watched a server chase a customer out the door and yell at her for not leaving enough tip. Rude. I will not be back. Other servers stopped what they were doing to watch the argument outside.

Aw, the chicken salad is soooo good. And we get the white pizza with artichoke hearts and bacon. So. Awesomely. Tasty. Yeah, it ain't much to look at, but it's local-owned and in walking distance. And we probably eat there or get take out at least once a week.

The only reason I eat here is because it is close to my house. They also have trivia on Tuesdays. The few things I've eaten have been run of the mill. The buffalo wings are scrawny and not very spicy. The buffalo sandwich is okay. Sometimes the pizza is good. I guess I would have to say it is about what you expect from a place like this. You've eaten better, but you'll go back because it is convenient

This is better than Mellow Mushroom and worse than Fellini's. I heard they are moving locations soon, which is a shame, I like the building they are in now. I would be curious to see their new place. At best, Avondale Pizza is really nothing to write home about, it is ok. My wife prefers Avondale over Fellini's, I am the opposite. You wouldn't regret going but then again you wouldn't be missing much if you didn't.

Best pizza in Avondale! It has a very local feel with great prices on delicious pizza and beer!

The pizza as always been tasty and you have a really wide variety of toppings like you can get at the gourmet places at about half the price. The Cafe Combo and BBQ Chicken are two favorites! We go there fairly regularly with friends and sometimes we have children (under 5) with us and it's always fine and never an issue. The servers have always been great and super helpful.

This is our new favorite local pizza place! We've had weekend lunch there a few times and just had a large white pie delivered. The pizza is the best I've had in the area -- better than Fellini's, Savage, or the place next to Brick Store. Generously-sized slices; crispy, fresh-tasting crust. The sauce might be a little underseasoned for me. My BF likes their subs a lot. They don't have a lot of fancy ingredients -- the usual stuff. The place is pretty plain, too, but the separate bar area is cool (it has a separate sign, but it's the same place). Several big TVs in there, and the full bar is a plus. There are a few tables out on the sidewalk, but not really any place for a pleasant outdoor seat. The service has been awesome -- laid-back and friendly. Recommended!

The most bang for your buck pizza joint in Atlanta. The avalanche is awesome! Just get a slice, that will fill the avg. person up! The slices are HUGE! The bar inside always has regulars sitting around partaking in the libation of their choice. One strange thing about this pizza joint is it is dekalb avondale and decatur police hang out central. There is always cops eating in here? I guess Dekalb county cops dig pizza better than donuts. But hey, good people, Cold beer, good drinks, great New York style pizza all with a strong police presence...what's not to like

I've only had calzones here, but for good reason. They are the bomb. Pitchers here are of the full variety, and reasonably priced. They have a few TV's and a generally laid back atmosphere. I don't live in the area, but I find myself out here about once a month. I'm disappointed they will be moving into a shopping center. I don't know what the new setup will be like, but I can't imagine it will boast as nice of a porch as it has currently.

I have been eating at APC since its original location. I LOVE and often CRAVE the Chicken Cheese Sub. The food is consistently delicious and I LOVE that the wait staff know me. Oh, and did I mention how REASONABLE it is?!?!?!? I HIGHLY RECOMMEND APC!!!

The pizza here is awesome. Its a great place to stop in for a slice and a beer. The prices are super affordable and the fact that they sell by the slice is a huge plus. I had the Avondale Avalanche one day and it was great. This slice was a hefty size had a ton of toppings on it but nothing I didn't like. Its a great option if you just want one slice of pizza to be your lunch for the day.

This review is for their new location (I've been to both.) I'll admit, I miss the old location. The outdoor deck was great, and toasty even when cold outside. Their new spot is just bland. I don't want to rag on them for it too harshly though, I'm assuming it is money that motivated them to move. The plus about the new place is the bigger bar, I guess. The food hasn't changed - I still love the pizza (sauce is on the winey side, how I like it), and the service knows that I always order the pretzels. I swear, those pretzels are one of the few foods I'll accept gaining ten pounds over. Maaaan, they are so tasty. Calzones are great. Let's see, toasted club sub - great! I like to kick back here for the free wi-fi and yummy food.

this is the place to visit when you want good pizza and you kinda want to be low key. whatever kind of pizza you like they have it, and if they dont they will make it for you. not a flashy place, but it is quiet and comfy. check them out, you'll be back!

Let me preface this by saying that I was born and raised in New Jersey, where pizza is almost a religion. I have been living in Atlanta for a little over a month, and have been trying a pizza place here and there trying to find something that reminds me of home. So far, this place is by far the closest to what I am accustomed to. All we ordered was a large pepperoni pizza to go, which at $9.50 was an amazing bargain to say the least. The pizza was fairly good, not spectacular, but I would definitely go back if I get the craving for that old school NY/NJ pizza shop type of pizza. I gave 3 stars instead of 4 because the dough was a little puffier than what I'm use to, but again, that's just the style I grew up with. The pizza had just the right amount of cheese and topping. I promise to update and possibly add a star once I've had the chance to go back and try other things on the menu, but the fact that this place is 20 minutes from my apartment and I would happily go back should serve as a vote of confidence. I was informed that the owner is also a Jersey native, which is definitely a bonus in my book.

Good pizza! We will be picking it up next time though. Delivery took 80 minutes, twice as long as they told us, and pizza was barely warm by the time it got to us. AND YET was still one tasty pie. We got the white supremo (I'm averse to the tomato sauce) and it was damn good. Thin NYC-style crust, highly foldable but with a good crunch, not greasy. Bet it's even better hot out of the oven.

From someone who makes her own pizza or is willing to drive over 800 miles for her favorite pizza place from childhood, this pizza rocks!! The Avondale Avalanche and their Mozzarella Pretzels are fantastic! Both the food and the staff have yet to disappoint.

I swear, those pretzels are one of the few foods I'll accept gaining ten pounds over. Maaaan, they are so tasty. Calzones are great. Let's see, toasted club sub - great! I like to kick back here for the free wi-fi and yummy food.

You've eaten better, but you'll go back because it is convenient

this is the place to visit when you want good pizza and you kinda want to be low key. whatever kind of pizza you like they have it, and if they dont they will make it for you. not a flashy place, but it is quiet and comfy. check them out, you'll be back!

I will not be returning.

really disappointed LOVED the SUPRIMO white pizza--lots of sundries tomatoes, cheeses and artichokes but now that pizza's changed the tomatoes are fresh, the artichokes are few the taste and flavor not nearly the same so...if the ingredients cost more, raise the price but don't skimp the only advantage I see is that they don't have to change the menu for new prices very disappointed...wont make the trip to avondale states for pizza again.

Guys this pizza is for real. Sauce is bright like a San Marzano marinara. Crust is tender with nice pull and little touches like roasting the red peppers do not go unnoticed. Great place to take the family or to take home to them. There is close to zero atmosphere as others have pointed out but the servers are so nice it makes up for it.

Didn't feel like having anything heavy, I ordered the chef salad. It was huge although it only comes in Small & medium. Do not underestimate the serving size. "Will be back"

One of my favorite places to go. Being a misplaced native New Yorker, a good slice of pizza is few and far between anywhere else. This place has got the recipe figured out and I love it!

From someone who makes her own pizza or is willing to drive over 800 miles for her favorite pizza place from childhood, this pizza rocks!! The Avondale Avalanche and their Mozzarella Pretzels are fantastic! Both the food and the staff have yet to disappoint.
