Hailing from Boston, and NYC where there is Large Caribbean communities, my expectations for this down south eatery were going to be tested. This is not a place I would suggest to any real Jamaican or Trini to eat. The chicken was dry and not flavored proper. The rice over cooked, and veggies... Blah blah. This is the place you go, if you don't know good island food.... Or you never had good island food to compare it to. Im a bit racist when it comes to my food ( Italians for my Italian food ) I didn't see or hear anything that made me believe that there was a old lady / man in the back with a gold tooth, and thick accent cooking up these meals. I guess I'll stick to Tasas's.

Pretty tastee West Indian food if you in the area. I've been going here since 2004. Oxtails is official and so is the Red Pea Soup. Grilled Jerk Chicken only prepared & served on the weekends & it is OKAY. Juici Jerk (5 mins up the road) got them beat by far with their Grilled Jerk! The Stew Chicken or Curry Chicken is a better choice or even the Curry Goat. I wasn't a fan of the Ackee n saltfish

I totally thought I have wrote a review for All Island Cafe...but I guess I didn't. I have been eating here for years...I used to work a couple of doors down and so this was where I would go for Caribbean food. I love the oxtails, chicken stew and the coco bread. All island is a little pricey but it's worth it in my opinion. Their foods and taste is always on point and doesn't disappoint. The only thing that would disappoint in my opinion is the portion size. Other than those dishes that I have listed, All Island Cafe's cakes are really good as well. Their carrot cake always satisfied and also their coco bread. Overall, if you are in the area and want good, legit Caribbean foods, stop by.

Love love love this restaurant. The BEST oxtails HANDS DOWN!! as a matter if fact the best EVERYTHING in the city.. the best curry chicken and goat the best stew chicken and the best jerk.. I've tried others in the neighborhood and they do NOT compare.. they give u a lot of meat and rice. I will drive from Lithonia every time I'm in the mood for island food.

I am new to Atlanta so finding the best of everything from food to nail salons have been work but THIS restaurant by far I have been super pleased with. A couple of friends and I checked out this place last weekend. We were starving and craving some really great Island food when a friend familiar with the city referred this place. Since I am located in College Park, I thought to myself "All the way in Decatur?!" but it's worth every penny!! The food is amazing and seasoned perfectly. I would give them 5 stars but they were currently out of ALL appetizers including plantains and beef patties. Terrible for customer service. They need to work on that. The ambiance also sucks but the waiter was patient and the food came out pretty fast. I had the curry chicken while my friends had the oxtail and curry goat. The absolute best! I am willing to drive 30 min from home to eat here from time to time but please God get better customer service! They have the potential to be the best in all of Atlanta. Just step it up a notch!

My first experience w/ Caribbean food in Atlanta. The food was okay but the service was very slow. I didn't know if I was supposed to sit down and they serve me, or if I was to order and then sit. Not a place I would return to considering I've discovered better places.

I don't have a whole lot of experience with island food, only Tassa Roti Shop in Marietta which I love, but I had a very good meal here. I had the oxtail but also tried the curry goat and jerk chicken. My oxtail was a nice portion of it, fatty and delicious in a savory gravy. Big pile of rice, two plantains, and some cabbage (not undercooked like another reviewer said, unless you are used to yours tasting like mush). If you can afford it go for the large--just a buck or two more but a much bigger pile of food. The curry goat I tried also had good flavor. The jerk chicken had a lot more gravy than I am used to but the chicken was very juicy with a nice spicy peppery flavor. One last note about the food: it is not overly salty. My dad's feet are a litmus test for saltiness and they were not swollen afterwards, haha. The actual restaurant feels very new.. A weird entrance and no clear indication of whether to just grab a table or what. Also wish they improved that 82 health rating. Very nice and appreciative staff however. I'll be sure to come back when in the area.

I had my food itinerary all planned out on my last business visit. I was supposed to go to the Original Jamaican Restaurant off of Edgewood but since I was working off of Panola and the local staff had a limited lunch hour, they took me to this restaurant. I was not impressed. I ordered curry chicken with peas and rice, plantains, and cabbage. The chicken was fatty, the rice was overcooked, and the cabbage was undercooked so I didn't eat much of it on day one. I can say the leftover food was much better on day two but, next time, if they can't hang, they can't go. I'm sticking to what I know is good.

I give it three stars because of the inconsistency. I've been given cold food before and a lot of times, they are out of what I'd like to order. The food is good but some days it's better than others. I don't know what happens on their bad days which they seem to be having more of. I love their coco bread and their lemonade. I usually order the king fish and sometimes I just get rice/peas with veggies and plantains. The service can be slow at times also.

I have been eatting here since 98'.Its a good spot to come with family and eat and relax. The food is good,I wont say hit or miss because i have been here so often i cant expect that much consistency. The fish can be a little spicy but i think i am the only caribbean person who dosent like spicy foods. The sliced king fish is often too tough as well. The punch is the best! In conclusion when ever i want jamaican food in atlanta i come here.

When I am in the mood for caribbean food while at work I come to this place. I have had the curry chicken, ox tails, brown stew chicken and jerk chicken. I really like their jerk chicken because is has a gravy to it which os good but hot. I don't get it often because I am kind of a wimp when it comes to really hot stuff. The food is good and the service is a little slow but attentive.

I think this is the old address and the new one is listed under the name "The Island Cafe"...but I'll copy/paste my review: Have been coming here for at least a decade...and the days of them running out of curry chicken! I normally get the king fish, curry or jerk chicken dinners. They all come with rice and peas, cabbage and plaintains. My daughter will always get the oxtail, which I know is very good, although I no longer eat red meat. The lemonade is ghettolicious! And for the real Yardees they have ginger beer and vita malt. You can't go wrong here. I have driven 25 mi to eat here. Thank goodness my church is on this side of town, so you'll mostly find me here on any given Sunday.

recommended from another Jamaican....this place has the BEST oxtails and their jerk chicken is rather good also.....they have actually expanded the inside so it's now a lot bigger but service can be kind of slow (kinda laid back like in Jamaica)......one thing I wish they were is fully stocked.......every time I come here they are out of something (usually the beef patties which btw are sublime or like last time they were out of ginger beer!).......no alcohol here which means no RED STRIPE......sigh....it is also located in the semi-hood but still safe since it's on the main street aka Memorial Drive......

They moved down a little ways, apparently three times within this same area lol anyways I was craving some oxtails and my bf recommended we go here. We got a oxtail dinner, with pea's and rice and cabbage. I have to say it was awesome!!! The oxtails weren't to soupy or dry...the cabbage was a great blend seeing as how I dont mess around with veggies too much but these were so great I enjoyed eating them! The rice and pea's weren't to hard or mushy either. This place is the place to go if you want some REALLY good jamaican food!!

My favorite place for Jamaican food in the A. The oxtail and rice and peas are as good as it gets. Can't wait for my next visit!

Some of the best oxtails around, and that was proven by my last visit, for they were fresh out of them, so I went in on the curry goat. That proved to be a great idea. This is another one of those Atlanta staple that has stood the test of time, if you have never been get on down and grab yourself a plate.
