The VERY BEST Caribbean food in ATL, when it comes to ... Oxtails Caribbean Punch Curry Chix Beef Patties Jerk Chix King Fish I had never had oxtails until coming here and I stepped out on a limb and I have been in love ever since...You must try this place

I was in the area for work and I just happen to see this place. The curry chicken was delicious! It is different than what I am used to but it was so good. I also ordered oxtail to take home to my husband and he loved it. BTW, the beef and chicken patties are spicy!

Food is SPECTACULAR! I have been eating at All Island for the past two years. All Island introduced me to coco bread....YUMMY Even the punch is delicious (but very sweet). I usually mix the punch with iced tea to cut the sweetness a bit. The service is normally very quick and the employees are pleasant. I refuse to try any other Jamaican venue in the Atlanta Area, it's that good.

Great food! Today I ate at another Jamaican restaurant which is not as good. The portion size has been reduced but the food is very tasty. Love the jerk chicken plate with coco bread. Love the food! Jerk chicken & oxtails are fabulous. Check your order in take out for missing plantains.

Unfortunately they did not have any curry chicken! :-( I settled for the oxtails, rice & peas, and mixed steamed vegetables. The oxtails was very small & did not have any meat or much flavor. The steamed vegetables was 2 small spoon servings. I expected more from this place.

Ate here today. Upon entering the restaurant I noticed their glass door was filthy. I ordered the brown stew fish. I should of left when the guy taking the order didn't know what brown stew fish is. I ordered anyway. The fish was $29. I want my money back. The fish was TERRIBLE. Dried out as if it was cooked the day before. The cabbage was just as bad. This restaurant used to have good food. I wonder if there's new owners now. I won't be returning. Feel like I made a donation .. That's a lot to spend on a meal and bs SOOO dissatisfied.

Omg. This food is sooooo good. Ive been eatin here since i was a kid. The kingfish is flavorful and not dry like some other places. And the brown stew chicken is the bomb.

Best Island food I have had in Atlanta. I have tried others but no one can compare to Island Cafe. Well worth the drive.

I first learned of the Island Cafe when I was working for the County. The food was always tasty and portion size generous. Fast forward a few years and the Cafe has a new location (a few doors down from the old spot) and a new reputation of always running out of stuff. My last three experiences with the All Island Cafe are the reasons i will be looking for another Jamaican restaurant to spend my hard earned money. I live in Lithonia which is not very cIose to the restuarant, but because the food is okay and familiar to us we travel to pick it up. The last three times however within a 2 month period I or my husband have dropped in to pick up dinner and have been told they are out of curry chicken. I've gone during the day and their out of Beef Patties, ect.... (just ridiculous). Last night was my last battle with this place, after we were told once again that they were out of Curry Chicken we left and found a great seafood spot (King Fish) down the street. And while jamaican food will still be on the dinner menu often to feed my family of four, It wont be from the Island cafe for sure.

try the stew peas!!! try the stew peas!!! you will love it.....i am born american w/ jamaican heritage and the stew peas with white rice is the best dish they make....most people try the familiar items like oxtails, curry and jerk chicken, but you can't go wrong with the stew peas w/ white rice....its not like grandma's (probably cause her's has pork in it) but it is the best that ive had in georgia...also the soups are good and the jerk chicken that they make on the weekend is pretty good too.( i usually get it with oxtail gravy, yumm)

I was introduced to Island Cafe back in 2003 we I worked in Stone Mountain, I was hooked. But because I wasn't always at work when I had the taste for it like a dummy I would try another Jamacian spot and would always be upset. They have the best Jerk Chicken (unless its made at home) in a restaurant . Matter fact I'm on my way there now to pick up my lunch!!

My son and his girlfriend told me about this spot. I love curried goat and you can't go wrong getting it here. It was very good and not too spicy. Service is speedy. Oxtails are on point as well.

Met a friend for an early dinner on a Saturday and dined in. The menu is very limited, the rice was bland and dried out and tasted like it was made the day before. I had the curry chicken (also dry and day old tasting), my friend had the "veggie" plate which was the same dry rice with cabbage and plantain. Neither of us finished our plates.. (waste of calories). The service was unwelcoming as if dining in is not preferred. I've eaten at this place a few times over the years and what used to be "good enough" carribean food is now just food. Try some of the other local spots on Memorial. $15 for 2 small plates with water, plus tip...not a bad price but no recommendation here.

Look I'm not from the islands, but someone who was took me here a couple times and I gotta say it was good. I'm pretty particular about my food, and this place has done it well the 2x I've been. Had the jerk chicken and the oxtail. Not fancy, just basics. Taking off a star bc I would like better service.

Well it was the worst experience I have ever had at this restaurant. .first I watched 15 people get served whom all came in after me...And the funny part is I had already paid.......After receiving my food a hour later it was cold lol..I'm never ever going to eat here again..never! !!!!##!#####×0×

I have been going since 2008 and the food is still awesome. I love the grilled jerk chicken and their beef patties!

Went here yesterday. Oxail was delicious. they were out of beef patties so we had to go to Kool runnings for down the street. The cashier was a little aloof. Loved the rice and peas. the plantains were stale.

I was introduced to the Island Cafe back in college. I was hesitant at first but Ive never regretted it. Its a small place on Memorial Drive just outside the perimeter. They offer sit down and take out. Around lunch time its practically standing room only. The food is fabulously delicious. My girl was quoted at saying "This (food) makes me feel good." The service can be a bit slow mostly due to the volume of business they receive but you usually get your food quickly and in good quantities. If going anywhere near lunch ( 11am - 1pm ) Id recommend calling your order in first. I make it a point to eat there at least once every visit back to Atlanta.

The food is awesome...i was also a little reluctant to try the place because it looked like a lil shack, but my coworker convinced me to try it. Amazing.......i always get the beef stew with rice and peas. I can't say much more......its very tasty! Parking is fine......its usually crowded...very crowded on fridays and saturdays. Its also kinda far which is why I don't get to go to often :(!

Love this place and the new spot (next door)! Have been coming here for at least a decade...and the days of them running out of curry chicken! I normally get the king fish, curry or jerk chicken dinners. They all come with rice and peas, cabbage and plaintains. My daughter will always get the oxtail, which I know is very good, although I no longer eat red meat. The lemonade is ghettolicious! And for the real Yardees they have ginger beer and vita malt. You can't go wrong here. I have driven 25 mi to eat here. Thank goodness my church is on this side of town, so you'll mostly find me here on any given Sunday.

Disappointed. Food was skimp compared to past visits. Large plate came with 3 oxtails. We asked how many oxtails came in the small and he said 2. Made no sense. We have come here several times in the past and have received wayy more oxtails than the 3 given. The plantains were very small and we only received 2 with the large plate. In the past a plantain would have been half the plantain. The server made mention that we had arrived close to closing time which is not an excuse. We asked the to notify of the small portions
