Service was a 5. The food was a 2.5. The chips are thin and cool. The cheese dip is watery, tasteless and too salty, and all of the entrees ( even the peppers, onions and chicken in the fajita nachos, as well as a beef burrito and 2 beef tacos) were WAAAAY too salty. I'm also confused why we paid $5 for half a bowl of cheese dip. Every other Mexican restaurant uses the exact same size bowl and fills it almost twice as much. Our total was $31 before tip and I don't think the food was worth it by any means. Stick to La Bamba or Huey Luey's.

This is a very good Mexican restaurant. I realize some of the other reviewers it had bad experiences here. We here on a fairly regular basis and have not had any of those problems. One of the reviews did mention the chips out have to say they are not my favorite. However, the salsa is excellent. I especially like the mild salsa because most of the time mild salsa is nothing but enchilada sauce, but here it seems like a true salsa. I always get the steak burrito. It's very good, it's not good for you, but it is very good! My wife likes the burrito el carbon. If you're in the area I suggest you don't believe the 2 1/2 star rating that this restaurant has. Try it for yourself!

Went on a Friday evening, place was full but not packed. The service was poor. Waitress was slow and non responsive, took forever to get silverware even after food arrived. Food was cold because of wait time for utensils. Waitress did not seem to care even after we mentioned that we needed silverware. Don't plan to go back.

Good food, good service, nice atmosphere. Portions were on the smaller side, but we don't eat much anyway. Would come back.

We just left after waiting an HOUR when we were told no more than 20 minutes by the host. All the people that were there were upset too from waiting soo long when there was 8 tables OPEN! The kitchen stays in a constant state of "backed up" so even the service is SLOW. Will NEVER be going back. We will see if they will even be open another year with service time like that....

Went here for the first time over a year ago and it was fantastic (and packed with customers). The next couple of times were the same. I now think that they've changed management; the last couple of times were not good. Tonight was our last trip (and there were very few customers). Margarita was just ok. Steak was chewy. Beans and rice were lukewarm. Bar service was extremely slow. Very disappointing and not worth the $70 tab.

Celebrated my birthday here. Everyone in my party complained about their food. Only saw my waitress twice. Had to hunt down a manager just to get a drink from the bar. When I finally got my drink, I found 2 hairs in it. The manager took the drink off of coarse. In addition to that, they billed my card twice. It was over all a horrible experience. I will not be going back.

I moved to Dallas a month ago and I tried La Cocina because it is the closest Mexican restaurant to my house. The food was good, but it wasn't nearly the best I've tasted in Georgia. For the price, it is average at best. When I left Gwinnett County, I left behind 3 awesome Mexican restaurants that I will surely miss. The best one had prices comparable to La Cocina, but the food was FAR superior. The other 2 were dirt cheap and the food was still better. La Cocina will do in a pinch because it is close, but I will keep searching for a great Mexican joint. On the plus side, the staff was very nice and attentive.

Great Place especially if you get Rosario as a server. She is the best. She is in the Bar area and serves tables by the Bar. Don't get Seher or Kat as a server. They are terrible at serving.

This is by far the worst mexican restaurant experience ever! I had ordered jalapeños in my cheese dip and they used a canned version(not fresh) and just threw some on top of the nasty cheese. Needless to say I couldn't eat that at all. The chips were horrible, they must have been leftover from the previous day or two. I have never had bad chips at any mexican place, these had to be thrown out. All our other food was ok, kind of bland and the burritos looked more like taco bell burritos, actually taco bell may actually have bigger burritos! Which is sad for how much those things cost. Service was horrible, but at least they are under new management. It used to be an ok place to eat.. I would suggest any other mexican place in Hiram or Dallas, anything not this place. Los magueys is soooo much better, its def worth the 10-15 minute drive! They have actual mexicans making the food as well, makes a huge difference in taste and quality. Americans don't care if they serve you shitty food and this is evident with every american run business.

My husband and I was there July 3, 2014. He's been there several times and this was my first. It was awful. The re-fried beans tasted like they came right out the can....cold and the rice wasn't any better. My husband always got the spinach enchilada. One bite and he had to get rid of it. He said it tasted like a whole box of salt was dumped on it. We will never go back.

This is definitely a step above your typical strip-mall Mexican joint. This place has some serious pride. The service was great, and the manager stopped by our table to check on us. The thing that nailed it for me, was the carnitas. I feel bad for the fellow who had unimpressive carnitas. Mine arrived flavorful and juicy. I always appreciate a place that slow roasts the pork in-house. It's worth checking out if you're in the area.

So, we are sitting here wondering "where is the bottom of Paulding County Mexican food?" This may very well be it. You know you are in trouble when your entree' arrives less than 6 minutes after you ordered it. Particularly for something like Carnitas, which I ordered, and was a grave insult to the poor hog that died to make it. I have never had a worse example of what should be a flavorful slow roasted pork, as mine was bland and dry. To top it all off, we ordered a pitcher of the house margarita special, which was actually very good (this along with some good salsa earned the 2 stars) until we saw the $26 price tag ( more than our meal). This was our second trip here, unlikely that there will be a third. So, you tell me, is this the bottom, or is there somewhere worse in Paulding?

Good local Mex. Both the Dallas location and the Brookstone location make good stuff. Baja fish tacos, steak burrito, taco's al pastor all delish and above expectations. Frozen concoctions use good bases and taste great!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
