Great salad and garlic knots! We got the smoked chicken ravioli and a football-size calzone!

Have ordered pizza from here before and found it to be quite good. Decided to visit the place and dine in with my daughter. I ordered the baked penne with meat sauce; my daughter ordered the spaghetti with marinara sauce. I was greatly disappointed. The baked ziti had very little flavor. My daughter, a picky eater who does eat spaghetti, barely touched her plate. I want to mention that it took us forever to be seated. There was one open table, and we were the only ones waiting to be seated. Several of the staff acknowledged our presence, but failed to seat us in a timely fashion. Once seated, our server, Lindsey, was very good. She is a very nice young lady. Not certain that I will give my money to Caprese's again.

Left this place very disappointed. Rude, and not so friendly server named Debbie. Served others before us when we got there 10 minutes earlier. Never ever telling people about this place. Pasta was very dry, and chicken tastes like sunny side up eggs.

Our go to place for real Italian food or pizza. A very nice ambiance. You can tell that the owners care about service and quality. Try the deli pizza. A small will feed me and I am a big boy. I always have some to take home.

I always stop here for lunch when I am working at the Home Depot next door. I have never had anything I didn't like from them.

Service (owner or manager) was rushed and rude. Wouldn't even let us sit at a booth when there were two open and available. But the gluten free pizza was top notch.

They still have the best pizza in the area and their buffet is cheap and delicious. The wait staff can be a bit slow but , not so overly bad that it affects my view on the food . Also, their calamari is very, very good.

I went with a friend yesterday and I have to say the food was great, yum. The three cheese ravioli was amazing!

Let's just be clear -- if the bottom of a pizza is soggy out of the oven, then you know something is wrong. Caprese has failed massively in its attempt to create a New York pizza. They do not pay attention to the thickness of the crust and its relationship to the amount of toppings. Not to mention the low-quality cheese which has that sandy aftertaste when improperly cooked in the oven. The lunch pizza buffet sounds like a nice deal, but if you can spring an extra dollar or two, I'd go elsewhere.

The Scene: I was way overdue for an oil change and didn't want to sit around reading old magazines while I waited at a nearby service station. So I decided to walk over to Home Depot for a little window shopping when a nice smell caught my nose. I didn't realize I was hungry until I smelled the gorgeous fragrance coming from inside. Date & Time: Tuesday June 5th, 2012 @ 1:35pm Dining Companions: solo What to expect: intimate little dining room in a strip mall between Home Depot and Kohl's Music: mix of soft rock, italian, instrumental Conversation: Easy to hear Decor: Average italian theme Service: Slow Liquid: water Ordered: Lunch Buffet ($7.95) Dislikes: Tables were not immediately serviced once customers were gone Total: $8.43 The Verdict: I was really interested in the calamari, since I've been having mad cravings.. .but the $7.95 lunch buffet just made more sense. It's by no means a wide variety. The buffet area is about as big as a hot dog stand. But the items I sampled were tasty. Pizza had surprisingly good flavor, but was very greasy across the top. Sausage marinated in tomato sauce with green peppers and onions was excellent. Mushroom Alfredo with ham shavings was good and the veggie mix was decent. The spaghetti was thin and chewy, maybe from sitting below the heat lamps and the meatballs were huge, but only average in flavor. Included with the buffet is a salad, which made this an outstanding value to me. My only complaint today would be one or two questionable pieces of lettuce that I picked off. My server was an older salt and pepper headed Italian women and her accent is absolutely adorable!!! There were several kitchen staff employees and the owner was here also, but there was only one server. No one lifted a finger to help her. Every table (no exaggeration) with the exception of two had dishes remaining from the lunch crowd earlier. I was slightly annoyed at first, but soon felt sorry for her as she struggled to keep me and the two other tables still dinning here happy. It made it easier to remain patient as it took her a while to notice I was finished with my meal and needed my final bill. Overall, very solid lunch for the money and beats most other 'same-old-same-old' options in the area.

It had a very nice feel and atmosphere. Waiters and hostess were extremely nice and helpful. Onto the food. My girlfriend and brother both got two different types of spaghetti which they loved. I on the other hand tried the seafood stuffing and was disgusted. I cut it open to find seafood from a can and tiny shrimp rarely found in any of the rolls. I was led by the menu to assume it was fresh. Thankfully the waitress took it off the bill when I sent it back. Not trying it again. Period. They get 3 stars from me due to my girlfriend and brothers experiences and plates. Just don't try the seafood.

This has been probably my favorite restaurant for the past several years. The food is always good the drinks are a good price, and service is always outstanding I highly recommend to anyone.

Years ago, this was one of my favorite Italian restaurants. But then it seemed like they changed over night. The food was not as tasty and the staff was not as efficient. Seemed like the food went from tasting fresh to tasting microwaved. I have been in there a handful of times over the past year hoping that it would be better. But it's not. The wait staff is generally two people and they are very very slow, with everything. There are other people standing around but they do not help. This is not a very big restaurant and the service should not be that slow even with two people. I think I'll give it another year or so and try it again

As a regular I find the location good and the pizza also. A previous poster stated the owner was gone? Was there today and Cookie is alive and well at his restaurant. Had my usual, the personal veggie deluxe and as usual brought halfvof it home. My wife had the " Caprese sandwich " this is a request item that is not on the menu. There are times that the wait staff is overwhelmed with large families and children, for the most part we never have an issue. Then again, I am not a high maintenance person. Just sit me down, take my order, drop off the food and provide two drinks. When my wife and I dine out it is "us" time and I don't need wait staff at my table every minute. In closing, good place. Another good meal today.

Not sure why this restaurant has such low ratings. I ate here the other night when one of our favorite Italian restaurants was closed and really enjoyed my experience. The food was surprisingly good I had a cheese calazone no ricotta and a Greek salad. The veggies in the salad were fresh and the dressing was delicious! The calazone was also very tasty lots of cheese surrounded by a sweet bread. The restaurant was clean and the service was friendly. I will definitely be trying this spot again :)

My favorite place for pizza and Greek salad. We order take out usually and like their side door entrance for pickups. It's been awhile, but tried their lunch buffet once and it was a great deal and provided multiple choices too!

I really enjoyed the spinach and walnut ravioli. I had it in a vodka sauce which was very good. The bruschetta was amazing and I would go back just for it. Our waitress was very good and timely.overall a great time. The atmosphere seems to be more casual, plastic table clothes and plastic cups but overall very good.

As a family we have eaten here a number of times. They have some of the better pizza in the area. They also have an excellent red wine vinegar house salad dressing and we very much enjoy the garlic rolls. It does get busy on weekend nights so you may have a wait.

We visited on a Sunday afternoon around late lunch. I should have looked at the menu first and noted that the crowd of kitchen staff sitting watching t.v. was a bad sign. We were the only customers in the restaurant. Before we had the chance to look at a menu we were shuffled to our table. I only ate a small Greek salad and my boyfriend had the chicken parmesean sandwich. Both were just OK. The health score was also an 86 or 87. We won't be going back.

I ordered a salad here and the dressing was awful -- almost all red-wine vinegar, it was so sour. The salad was mainly iceberg lettuce, so it didn't taste like much. For the entree I ordered a manicotti. The portion was very small that even as a petite woman, I found myself hungry afterwards. The dish only had 2 little rolls about 4 inches long. They were swamped in a pool of white cream sauce. The dish wasn't cheap, around $12-13, and at lunch too. I can't remember what my husband ordered but it was not memorable. Not a good value, very disappointing in quality.

Food was acceptable neighborhood pizza joint fare, but the service was horrendous. Never again. The staff was inattentive and rarely made it back to our table.

Pizza was good, service was not. There were only a few tables occupied yet my drink sat empty. Our server had no personality.

With sadness I write this, Caprese is not worth going to unless you are into subpar food and service. This was once a great small neighborhood Italian eatery. The original owner (I believe was from Argentina) really KNOWS how to make good Italian food. But now, no different than going into an Olive Garden or worse. I tried giving this place another chance since my last visit. I can't never understand why this place, even under the original owner, can never seem to find decent servers who performs in a professional manner? Prices have been raised some since 2009, understandable given all the food/gas inflation over last 3 yrs, but substituting quality ingredients w/ cheap low quality ingredients is a huge no no in my book. Take the seafood stuffed shell I had tonight, it came out luke warm and the seafood stuffing was junk. Super small shrimps 80-90 per lb type, super small bay scallops??? C'mon, I had better at a cheap $8.99 buffett! What made it worse, it was not very fresh and when I complained about it, they popped it into a microwave and brought it back out. WTF? I wish I know where the original owner went, because I would sure visit him when I can to taste real Italian food again.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century.
