Pretty normal selection. I liked the old school feeling of the place, and they have a nice view in the back. They made a good Rob Roy (didn't pinch on the Scotch.)

Dated, decor and clientele. Food was subpar and overpriced. Staff was super friendly unfortunately the kitchen isn't very good. The scallop appetizer had 3 scallops - 12$. Ordered a burger medium- was well done. Ordered chicken francese- swimming in grease/butter- chicken wasn't breaded and fried as the recipe calls for, and was covered in green onion... Weird and gross. Returned the chicken, it was inedible. A server that wasn't ours came to the table and apologized and gave us a $25 gift certificate to return. very sweet but not necessary. Not sure if we will return... If we do I will update the review.

My girlfriends parents and I decided to try out this "Award Winning Steakhouse" Jeesh! I'm not sure who gives out the awards in this neck of the woods, but I think it's probably the brother of the guy who owns the steakhouse. I've been disappointed by service and quality of food before but this place really takes the cake. Where do I begin. It's Mother's Day weekend. Prepare for that. It's prom season. Prepare for that. Don't blame the volume of guests for your lack of professionalism. Hot beers, warm wines, getting to watch the supposed manager yell at our eventual server ,always a treat. I'm writing this to plead with anyone thinking of eating there please do not. Below is our detailed experience. We arrived at the restaurant vastly uninhabited, we were asked to take a seat at the bar and remanded to wait for around 25 minutes. During our wait we were served one Luke warm corona and a Luke warm glass of Pinot Grigio. When we were finally seated in our booth our server came up and said they were extremely busy and apologized, for nothing, up to that point. We ordered our drinks and our appetizer, the fried calamari, which was sort of fried and a bit mushy, and definitely from a bag. My girlfriend's brüt rose came with the champagne flute that looked like it had been washed in bacon grease and ashes. We ordered our entrees Two steaks, grilled chicken and the "Creole". It's pretty hard to fuck up steak so they were in the clear there but the "Creole": Good God!!!! was it bad. It was filled with unchewable bits of "chicken" and doused in a sauce that was red. The steaks were steak. The chicken was chicken. I had an empty glass the majority of the time and when I flagged another person down to get some soda water he promptly brought me another one and thirty minutes later I was greeted with a glass of soda and another excuse. All in all this place is no good. Seems like the only thing you can get their regularly is a sweaty glass of Dewars and bad service. Last but not least, 71 sanitation grade. Yuck.

Don't bother! We took our parents for a special dinner out and out of 4 of us, they got four wrong. Ordered a salad without bacon and got bacon. My husband was served Salmon that tasted slimy moldy and they forgot a side for Mom and Dad's steak was charred. They kept pushing free desserts and my husband and Mom are diabetic. One waitress or manager said "are you just trying to get a free dinner?" To my husband who was served rotten fish. They comped part of the bill, but still left a bad taste in our mouths. All the plates were hot and almost all the food was cold. Good luck.

The Ridge... STOP AND THINK!!! JUST DONT DO IT... THE SERVICE SUCKS... To many young kids that don't know what to do.. This place has to be loosing money.. We sat for almost ten mins and no one including the manager never came to our table in the middle of the floor.. The manager was to busy yelling at the kids about the music, and other things. They was also short staffed tonight so the manger should stepped up to the plate and got to work. So we left and went to Ray's on the river

Pretty awful, pretty expensive and has a 71 health dept rating. Had a party 6 and 4 of us became ill very soon after. Will not go back.

Busy. Relax and listen to Tony Mele taking you thru the great journey of Sinatra, Commodores, Billy Joel, Loe Rawls, Sam Cook and more. It's like a Vegas Dinner Club. Food Wise Bisque is good Scallops are good Having Pasta. It ain't that good Spinach salad very good. Richard the server was good But the kitchen was in the weeds Very long time for delivery. Thanks Tony

Says its was voted the best but really not sure what for. Went with the family and was surprised to be seated in what seemed like a back room past the kitchen. This was nice, kept us away from the crowd. And what sounded like bad karaoke. The food. Our son's order had under cooked noodles well raw and hard on the tips. My Cajun chicken pasta was suppose to be blacken but they forgot the spice. After sending it back they forgot the sun dried tomatoes. Chopped for leaving out a main ingredient. First time will be our last disappointing, not really sure how or who voted them the best of. One good thing is once a month they have a deal were you can bring your dogs to their back patio money goes to the Forsythe animal shelter.

Nice place, quite, relaxing, I want the food to be good but....day one steak burnt grill marks raw inside you don't flash fire a steak to get medium. Chicken sandwich day two extremely dry came recommended from the bartender but had better at chic fil a. Day three seafood extravaganza they redeemed theirselves scallops were perfect crab legs were awesome. Headed back for day 4 to test the burger. Stand by.... Epic fail! Who ever mans the grill at this place thinks patrons enjoy burnt on the outside medium in the middle. The burger is charred every where. Note to self only come on Wednesdays!
(2)Erica B.
Just finished dinner, I had a steak with potato. The steak was pretty good but the baked potato had to much salt on it. I do like the view and the service was great. They have great daily specials so overall it wasn't bad, would check this place again if I ever visit the area again.

Enjoyed dinner with my family on Monday night. There were thirteen of us and we all had a wonderful meal. The service was excellent. Our server was very pleasant and patient (we had four kids with us). Our beverages were never empty. The salads were all fresh and crisp. The lobster bisque was sumptuous, creamy and just enough spice. I had the trout oscar which was cooked perfectly. The only complaint from anyone was that the crabcake had too much filler and not enough seasoning. It was bland. I would recommend this restaurant to friends, just skip the crabcake.
(4)Cara H.
This is the first time I have given one star, but this is by far one of the worst dining experiences I've had. From receiving poor service to receiving the wrong entree and not being able to even get the servers attention to the long wait for our cold meal. Too many great options out there to try this place again!
(1)Warren B.
We've always wanted to eat here. We finally stopped to try it out. We started with the crab dip which was baked with marscapone and goat cheese. Amazing appetizer which came with garlic toast for dipping. I had the seafood sampler large blackened scallops, shrimp and an amazing crabcake. My partner had the steak and the best spinach salad I have tried. We both had loaded bakers which were perfectly cooked. The owners both came by to greet us and welcome us to their restaurant. Great staff and food. If that were not enough. They had an amazing band which performed jazz...Motown songs...etc. This made for the most enjoyable experience we've had in a very long time. I highly recommend this top quality restaurant. We will be going back very soon.

Went for first time tonight. Great ambiance! Great food! Great prices! We met the owner who was super nice as well.
(5)Dana P.
Service is slow, food is unexceptional and the people they had singing were bad squared. One and done for us. Not a place I will go back to. If you and yours like a old time(y) bar club atmosphere then maybe...
(2)John P.
Heard about this place and thought we would go for music and drinks. Unfortunately, we got here too late for music, so we settled for drinks. The bartender was fast and attentive. He didn't talk to us at all, and seemed preoccupied, but he was there when we needed him. $6.50 for a drink. I plan on going back for dinner next time.
(4)Pam H.
Disappointed right away. Couldn't sit in a booth in the back because there wasn't enough wait staff, said the host. But within minutes he sat two tables in the back. I Watched as the manager micro managed the staff all the while not noticing that our table had been sitting for five minutes with no attention. In the meantime, one waiter, one waitress, and the host passed by our table three times each. The manager, or owner, not sure which one he was, stood at the bar not noticing. It wasn't busy on a Sunday night so no excuse for the poor service. End the end it isn't worth the drive or the cost.
(1)Sean M.
As good as it gets! Very happy with the service, food and the atmosphere. Wish there was more places like this one in the area. Everyone was attentive and concerned with our service. We cannot think of a better place around town that can come close!
(5)Kimmy G.
I have to disagree with a few of these reviews. I actually love the food from The Ridge, especially the steaks. They cook them perfectly and you get high quality meats. I have eaten here several times and sampled a variety of their side items which were all really good. The atmosphere is fun and live music with a variety of people young to old. If you're coming for the food ask to be seated further away from the live entertainment and you'll be fine. The service here is always been awesome as well. Very friendly and attentive. Great steakhouse.
(4)Kevin S.
The Ridge is the absolute worst restaurant I have ever experienced. Dining there with my father so we have 50 years combined without ever sending food back. Our $50 worth of steaks were so over cooked they were inedible. The manager said they had a 1600 degree grill so I assume he means they burn everything. Their attitudes were pathetic. Under no circumstances will either of us ever go back do not waste your money here. The steaks are much better at Waffle House even and so is the service.

I went here for my birthday the other day and was pleasantly surprised. We were seated right away. The server was friendly and polite. When we ordered the buttered croissant rolls (which I highly recommend you do... See my tip), they were grout out promptly. They were delectable. When they brought out my fiancée's salad, they gave me an extra roll. Bonus points for The Ridge on that! We ordered our steaks and they came out in a respectable amount of time. I ordered the Filet Mignon and Lisa ordered the Ridge Special. Both were very good. My filet was a bit over-salted, which I attribute to an honest mistake rather than a major error. The reason is that it was only slightly over-salted as opposed to egregiously over-salted. Sometime a pinch is bigger than one expects. I'll let you know if it gets better upon my next visit. The ambiance is nice. Dark on the inside which has a cozy effect given the architecture and floor plan of the restaurant. I recommend you sit in the back by the window. You will get a nice view of the forrest and possibly see rabbits and deer running about. When we left, the owner of the restaurant came out to greet us and we talked for about 10 minutes. He is a very nice guy and cares about his restaurant and the customer's experience. His sincerity was evident and that is why I am giving this a five star rating. Despite my fillet being off, the experience more than made up for it. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a good meal in a cozy atmosphere.

Massive seating area, black Elvis impersonator, mediocre food that's overpriced... I don't think I left anything out.
(2)Keith W.
Very disappointing. My wife and I decided a 4th of July dinner was a good idea, but it wasnt the case here. Cant tell you one bit of information about the food, as we never got a chance to order drinks, let alone a meal. We were greeted in a friendly manner and seated quickly. Thats where the service ended. In the next 15 minutes, no one came by, let alone took any orders. The last straw was when a group was seated at a booth next to us and had drink orders taken immediately, yet the staff failed to acknowledge we were there. We did note a number of the staff near a bar area laughing and sharing pictures from their phones. Obviously too busy to take care of the customers. Sadly, the place wasnt very busy. We ended up leaving and going to Norman's Landing, where we enjoyed good service and a good meal.
(1)Libbi P.
We had 3 steaks and they we all under cooked rare. Salads we good and the kids chicken tenders were good.
(3)Catherine P.
Mind you, I haven't experienced the "Great Steaks and Seafood", but I have been here for drinks a coupla times with my cousin and others. This seems to be the only bar option in Cumming, as far as I can see. It's a pretty large space...there is usually a $3 or $5 cover. They have a DJ who plays top 40 mixed with booty music and country jams like Cotton Eyed Joe & The Devil Went Down to Georgia. Drinks are fine as far as strength & cost. Can take a while to get a drink at the bar. Watch out for sketchy country grabasstic nasty men...stick with your posse and you should be safe. Visit Count: 2

Never again. We have lived here for 10 years and finally decided to try it. We were told about the view and the food, so we went to check it out. We were seated by the exit/entrance where no one else was seated. No view. Everyone else was seated behind the bar with the view and the people coming after us were seated back there as well. Odd, but not a deal breaker. We were right next to the hostess station and got to watch and listen to all the servers congregate there and talk about going to party at someone's house after work. Right next to our table. Never experienced this at another restaurant like The Ridge holds itself out to be. The lighting was so poor that we had to use the table candle to try and read the menu. My wife ordered the sirloin which had no flavor but charcoal. Gross. I ordered the creole after asking the server for her recommendation. It honestly tasted like someone poured a cup of salt in the bowl. I could not finish my meal and we left as soon as possible. Never again.

If you like to spend the remainder of your day in the bathroom like my family did, come here. Seemed dirty and dated. Had a score of 71 posted for health department grade, lowest I have seen anywhere ever. Prime rib actually tasted good, it was part of Mother's Day special for like $25 with sides according to sign. It only came with one side, no salad, bread was extra. And they served my 2 year old a hot plate which they brought out with a towel, put it in front of him and said it was hot and walked away. My wife saved my son from getting burned. Who does that???? Bathroom had broken or missing doors on stalls also. This place was probably good in the 80's and seems to be on last legs. First and last time going.
(1)Christina F.
Used to love but last time we all met for dinner here, all 7 in our party got sick. Not even in the car to leave when our stomachs started gurgling and rumbling. We all made a mad dash to leave and had a pretty unpleasant rest of the evening. And each of us ordered something different! NEVER again...
(1)Robert L.
Thought we'd give this place a shot. I drive by it a lot and it always has plenty of cars. It was early Sunday evening. ..not busy at all. We were seated at a dirty table, but the hostess was nice. I wish I could tell you how the food is, but after 15 minutes of waiting without anyone even acknowledging we were there, we left. Will not be going back.
(1)Matt S.
Just went here for the first time on a date with my wife. We have been in cumming for 8 years and have heard great things about the Ridge. We had a steak and my wife had crab cakes. Both meals were great! Service was amazing and prompt. Our server Alexander was awesome! I'm not sure why there are so many bad reviews because this place was on a wait and very busy! We will be back soon!
(5)Lisa R.
Food is not very good, but if you keep drinking it would get better! This is the fourth time we've been to the ridge and we just keep on forgetting how bad the food sucks, you can get a better meal at a Piccadilly cafeteria don't waste your time unless you are a middle-aged person looking for a date! Yuck!! The steak smelled like burnt hair and the fish tasted liked nursing home food and all for over 80 dollars for two, gotta luv the great value!
(1)Terri S.
Our party of 10 went to The Ridge to celebrate an anniversary. We had reservations at 7 pm, but didn't get our food until 9 pm. Our glasses went empty, our server never came back to check on us, until we finally went up to the bar and complained. I asked twice for a glass of water and had to go to the bar to get one. What a joke! When we finally got our food, it was good, thankfully. We like the atmosphere and music at The Ridge, but unless they address the service issues we won't be back. They need to get a clue or don't deserve to be in business!!

I want so much to like this place. It isn't a chain, they have a live singer knocking out standards and Elvis (black Elvis is in the building), Steve the owner is nice and the location is great. The problem is, it just isn't good. Start with the place being so dark you can't see the menu without a flashlight. Not romantic dark - just dark like they are trying to hide something. My martini came cool - not cold. The second one was better. The food choices are good from a limited menu, but they are just plain bad. My wife had the ribs. Good flavor but cooked about 2 hours too long. They were dry and fell off the bone like plaster from a ceiling - in junks. I tried the shrimp and grits. There was so much BBQ sauce (an odd addition anywhere) I couldn't taste anything but the BBQ sauce that tasted like it came from a can. Our friends tried a couple of other items that ended up unfinished as well. Because of the music selection, this place draws an older crowd. Nothing wrong with that, but I get the impression they rely on the entertainer to draw clients rather than having decent food or lighting. Not pleasant and I don't recommend it.
(2)Oklahoma B.
Bartenders Chad and Nikki are always entertaining and quick to serve. Happy hour food is all I've ever eaten, but it's all awesome. Wings are consistently crispy. Crowd is older but it's good people watching.

The ridge is not closed down! This restaurant is awesome!

This is another that I went to years ago, but still remember the experience. As for the food, service and decor, everything was very nice. I absolutely LOVED their honey rolls! We would go often, then the "day of horror" came. We were enjoying the last of our salads and our dinner came. I moved some things over to make room for the plates, the waitress set the dishes down, and left. We began eating our steaks when I happened to glance over at the vinegar bottle still on the table. I noticed several small black things swirling around in the vinegar. At first, I thought them to be grains of pepper, but I picked it up to look. They were dead gnats! Not just a small few, but about 40-50! Like an insect graveyard! Mostly on the bottom, so they had been in there for some time! Of course I was highly grossed out! We called the server over, and she got the manager. Now, I can accept a fluke mishap, and a sincere apology, but how this manager handled it, left me wondering just how clean the rest of the restaurant was! When we showed her the insect grave yard in the bottle, she shrugged and told us that it happens all time in all restaurants. We argued that point, stating we've never seen anything even close to that in all our many years of eating out. She shrugged again, and said. "oh well, it's more protein." She ignored our disgust and then asked if we would like desert on the house to make up for it? My friend simply replied "No thank you, we're had enough portent for the day." we paid our bill, and have never been able to stomach a trip back there ever since.

E I come to a networking group here every Monday and come again most every Thursday for Family Night. The food and atmosphere are awesome. I would not be here twice a week if they did not have great food! I just noticed the review saying they were closed. LOL!!! Did I mention I am sitting in The Ridge having dinner right now? I think they posted on the wrong restaurant.
(5)Kris B.
Took my mother out for her birthday dinner. The host staff was distracted and had us waiting a while to seat us, though we had reservations and the restaurant was half empty. The food was very good, though a bit overpriced for this type of restaurant. Not sure I would go again.
(3)AK Y.
Hit here for dinner with another couple. Good service. Mix of steak and seafood. Place is big lots of tables and side Rooms with a back area that affords a nice view. Food was good portions. Then after dinner they turn large area into a dance floor. It's worth a visit for a nite out.
(4)Edward L.
This place really is a touch of club out in the burbs... since its in the north Atlanta burbs its a mix of over tanned, silicone country girls with naturals who simply don't feel like driving. I heard the word "fight" no less than 25 times which, in combination with all the John Deere ball caps and flip flops is not a complete surprise. I met a sweet heart of a girl from Blairesville.... like 2.5 hours away. My friends are always cool so it was worth it to hang with them. I'm learning that being an ultra elitist hipster is can cut you off from great people. Shoot out to 400 crew. If you live anywhere north of exit 12 and you want to go to a "club" without driving to Atlanta, give this place a try.
(3)Jennifer G.
The owner, Steve Campbell, impressed me when we first tried The Ridge a couple years ago by introducing us to the Lobster Bisque. Since then we always made The Ridge a place to go out to eat when my Mother In-Law visited from out of town (multiple times a year). But last night was the very last night we will ever eat at The Ridge because of how Steve handled our dissatisfaction with my MILs burnt steak. We sent it back and a new one was made but not delivered until the rest of us were just about done with our meal. At that point she lost interest and asked for it to be wrapped to go. You would think they would comp her meal (especially after we ordered several drinks, soups, 3 $25 steak dinners but instead the owner made it obvious that he was not happy to do so. From what I could see 3 servers were arguing with him about it so I stepped in. When I tried to explain my previous experience he interrupted me and said "Will you just get to the point?!". Boy did I!!! And let's just say several of the servers were THANKING ME for standing up to him as we left The Ridge...again, for the very last time! I posted my experience on FB and several responses supported the fact that they were not that impressed either with their experience. I am looking forward to this economy turning around and bringing him some competition. In the meantime, my husband makes the best steaks right here at home and with zippo attitude! The only thing we will be missing is the Lobster Bisque which gets too cold before you finish it anyway because he service it in wide shallow bowls. Bu-Bye Steve Campbell at The Ridge!!!!
(1)Ron H.
Great news..met the owner (Steve) last night..told him this place could be outstanding except the experience is "hit or miss"..you never know what you will get....explained my poor experiences with bad food (i could not eat) and he told me ..."call me"....of course I didn't know him and he still did not offer his cell number.....he went on to let me know all is good, their food is great...people love them...however, it was empty on a Sat night (because of the economy, rain, no rain, GA football, etc.)...Face Reality As it is, NOT as you desire it to be.

I have been going to the ridge for some time now, and its been decent over all. The last visit was not so good- I took a friend from out of town after a round of golf, and it was terrible! the steak was over cooked & very chewy. Also the service was very slow, and our drinks didn't come until after the food! to ad insult to injury our bill was $60.00- this for two beers, one bad cheese dip, and chewy over cooked sirloin steaks. I believe that was my last visit- what a shame as I love the atmosphere.
(1)Chris R.
Great scallops. But very overpriced martini then steak served waaay undercooked after waiting 20 min on corrected steak gave up and asked for checked, no mgr and no apologies. Won't be here again.

We went to The Ridge on family night Thursday. The dinning room features a wood burning fireplace, dark wood paneling and at the time was filled with Grandparents and their grandchildren. My party sampled from the special that evening which was prime rib. I had a salad, med-rare prime rib with squash casserole and shared key lime pie. The best part of my meal was the salad. It was a tossed salad with mixed greens, cucumber, cranberries and almond slivers. The prime rib was dry which is hard for a med-rare cut of meat. I'm not sure what was going on with the squash but yuck and the key lime pie tasted like a grocery store piece of pie ( I do like but don't expect at a restaurant). The other member of my party ordered their prime rib med (served med-rare), loaded bake potato (dry), and the spinach salad. The only part of their meal that was finished was the long island iced tea. I will be returning in about 30 years with my grandchildren, I'm sure the décor will be the same and I think I'll have a better review to write then.

A nice comfortable place to dine with generally good food and fair prices. Great specials on Wed and Fridays, best around. Angie, head bartender best in area. Unfortunately, the experience is often marred by a hostess with an attitude. Recently on a visit (we have been regulars up to this point) we asked for a table by the window. There were 7 empty tables. We were told they were all reserved at 7:00pm though it was only 5:20pm and we could not be seated there. The previous week when we tried to make a reservation we were told they don't take reservations. When we related this to the hostess, she promptly told us we were wrong and they always take reservations but reiterated they put us on the waiting list for a table even though they still had 7 tables sitting open for the next hour and a half. She was not at all helpful and when we asked to speak to the manager on duty, she said he wasn't there and was very huffy. At that point, we chose to go to another restaurant in the area where they care about having customers. A subsequent call to the owner was met with a voice mail and no response now for over two weeks. Unfortunately, this wasn't the first time we had experienced the "attitude" on the part of this hostess. It is a pity that a restaurant allows themselves to be put in this position of indifference from one rude and uncaring employee. It is unlikely that we will continue to be regulars as long as this attitude on the part of the staff and ownership prevails.
