Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

They make it easy to be a fan. Homemade corn tortillas. Honestly I could stop here. This isn't close to the norm in Cumming. So much yum. Cheap, tasty, strong margaritas. Great salsa, and LOTS of it. Great service. Inexpensive. Yum fajitas. Good queso. I can't believe I waited as long as I did to try this place!

This place is great! They are reasonably priced and very quick with your food. They have the best Chile rellenos and their house margaritas are awesome and cheap! I'm pretty sure they also never use a microwave unlike Mexican restaurants I've been to recently whose food was cold in the middle. Their staff is always courteous and on top of their game so to speak, you never run out of your drink or chips or salsa. I wish they'd put one around Bethelview so I didn't have to fight the traffic on the square to get to them. But that's my only complaint!

I'm only talking about the food when rate this. I had ground beef nachos with were supposed to include melted cheese, right? Instead what I got were tortilla chips, ground beef (I'll talk about this more), a dollop of sour cream and lots of guacamole (more on this). About the ground beef; let me say it had a very odd flavor, much like canned dog food smells, and it wasn't seasoned at all. No garlic, no cumin, maybe salt, and no pepper. It was sorta smooth, not crumbly like ground beef always is. My husband tasted my nachos and says "that's not ground beef!" For the guacamole; again, no flavor. Lemme say if I had gotten just plain mashed avocados I could have added some salsa to it to pizzazz it up. But no, they used unripe avocados which can't be corrected in anyway to cover up the bitter aweful taste. I don't know about the folks who rate this place as anything over a 2*. This was the poorest excuse for Mexican food I've ever tasted. I didn't rate a 1* as the service and waitress were good.

This place has fast service and good food. They bring out a pitcher of salsa as soon as you sit down.

I absolutely love Los Rios! They are always very quick with their food and it always tastes good! I will keep going back!!!

This place is still going strong and has only gotten better! They expanded the dining room so there's a lot of tables now (but it still fills up). Still great food and great service, the staff there is wonderful and really works like a family. We love sitting at the bar and chatting with everyone, and they make us feel very welcome. Highly recommended for a great meal out.

OMG! This is the best place! Wonderful food at good prices, STRONG drinks, economical and one of the most efficient restaurants I've ever seen!!!!! You gotta go here!
(5)Colleen M.
The service was very good and attentive even though he refilled my tea with diet coke. The prices were very cheap but when they brought out our tacos we saw why. There was hardly any product inside of them. I guess you can sell it cheap if you're actually not giving the clients any food. We only spent 17 bucks there but it's the last 17 bucks we'll spend there.

We are here now and the food is superb! Authentic Mexican food! Everything very tasty! Will come again! !!
(4)Ashley C.
The food is great and service is fast and wonderful. I would recommend the Texas fajitas or quesadillas.
(5)Mike V.
Great food very reasonable prices. The white cheese sauce on the nachos is delicious. Stephanie our server was friendly and attentive. I would definitely recommend this place. And also try Bello Italian down the street behind the movie theater. That's where I work. Mike Vonland

Great, fast, and friendly. Nice environment and not too loud. I eat there frequently on Sunday afternoons. Eat with a medium group and it's quick and not too busy.

This is our Go To Mexican place in Cumming, GA. We've tried most of the other Mexican places in the area and this is the best...although I wouldn't have said that just by judging from the outward appearance. The food is wonderful every time and the prices are really great too. We usually get our meals, a coke and margarita for around $20 bucks. The service is really fast too. 99% of the times we have been there, we had our meals on the table within about 5 minutes after ordering. This will definitely continue to be a staple for us for a busy night when cooking is not an option.

This is one of the better Mexican restaurants in the area. The menu is typical of a standard Mexican place but with a little better quality food. We've eaten here a number of times and haven't gotten one of those "Keep it warm until someone buys it" type of plates. They have a bar area and frequently have live entertainment. If you are looking for standard Mexican, this is a pretty good stop.

About a month ago we were looking for a new Mexican restaurant to try out. I came across this one online and saw the great Yelp reviews so we decided to give it a try. We hesitated a bit when we pulled into Tri-County Plaza, not exactly what we expected. But there was a line out the door so we figured between the line and the good reviews we should at least give it a try. We put our name on the list and expected a long wait since there were so many people there but we were seated fairly quickly. As someone who loves salsa, I was happy to see they brought a pitcher of it to the table with the chips. The salsa had lots of flavor and just the right amount of spice. We ordered fried burritos and chimichangas to split. I thought a chimichanga was basically a fried burrito but these 2 dishes definitely had different flavors. Both were delicious. Same great food / service the 2nd time. We'll definitely go back.

Ok first time here, but made a good impression. Server was there after we sat down and took our drink ordered. Stepped away for minute and brought our drinks followed quickly by a basket of warm tortilla chips and a pitcher of salsa. The salsa was different then most it looked almost like ketchup, but had a very nice flavor. Server returned to take our orders, one son had Chimichangas and the other had some combo platter. I ordered the Texas Fajitas for one. The server replaced our chips before our meals came, which came quickly and quite hot. Both boys enjoyed their meals very much. My fajitas was more then I could eat and that has never happened to me in the past, my one complaint about them was there were not enough vegetables, if you can call that a complaint. Being just my first visit I did not want to give 5 stars till I tried it again.

Good Food !! but most importantly from my point of view, are the cheap beers!!! OMG Such a deal ... Will recommend it !!!

Celebrated my birthday with friends and our children. Got there at 5:30pm. My girlfriend told my husband that she called and made reservations for 9 people. When we arrived we gave them our reservation name only to be told they didn't take reservations. So, that was confusing but luckily they were able to seat us right away. The food was really good as well as the menu prices. The margaritas are strong! Good but very strong. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining but sometimes too much tequila can ruin a margarita. I then ordered a beer. Since they were pretty busy, my beer mug was very warm. I just can't drink warm beer. They were happy to replace with an ice cold mug. Server was friendly but not always around. I gave it 4 stars because it was our first visit. We left at 8pm and the line was out the door with new customers so clearly this place is popular. Will definitely come back.

LOVE THIS PLACE. Nothing fancy but the food is fantastic. I have never had anything I didn't enjoy. Cheese dip....excellent and friendly and fast service. Take out orders are always ready and quick checkout at register.

This is our "go to" for Mexican food. Awesome service and great food. I highly recommend the chicken fajita nachos .... A lot of chicken, cheese and veggies. They offer it in a half or full order.
(5)Curt A.
I give it 4 enchiladas because I had the Enchiladas Supremo for lunch, 1 chik, 1 beef, 1 bean, 1 chez.no beans/rice, $8 plus drink and tip, $12 total. Good enchiladas, but not great, had this weird "tan" corn syrup sauce on it, The chips were light and fresh and they bring a big carafe' of salsa, Service was fast and friendly. Lots of TVs but the decor is "dingy brown". Bathrooms are clean. It's located at the other end of the Publix shopping center near the car wash and Golds Gym. I would go back for a quick lunch but the decor is so ugly I would hesitate to bring guests.

Overall the best Mexican food in Cumming. Fajitas are some of the best I have had. Prices are awesome.
(5)Jessica G.
Food and service are superb! Fabulous find for a inexpensive Mexican restaurant. The chorizo dip app is my fave!! It's already busy which I take as a really good sign. I have never left here disappointed.
(5)Carrie R.
Best mexican food in Cumming. In fact, I live in Alpharetta and I will drive all the way up to Cumming just to have mexican. The cheese dip is good. The sweet tea is perfect. If you want a margarita, they are large and strong here. Only one is needed. The food is great and it is all cheap which just makes everything better. I love it!

This is an update to my first review. My family is now a regular to this location, we've been 4 times. We still love the food. The last two servers we had were awesome! I had to order something different from the usual so I tried a new menu addition at the recommendation of the server. It was a dish created by one of the servers and named after him for that matter. It is two fried burritos (flour tortillas): one beef and one chicken. The outside was covered with queso. Let me tell you they were yummy!!! As a side note, what the heck is the secret to their salsa. It is amazing!!! My wife never eats salsa and she loves it. It is highly addicting making you want more and more. I could come here literally just for their chips and salsa.

Food is good! However, we went there Saturday nite after our children's birthday party and while inside someone broke into our SUV and took all the gifts for our kids. This wasn't a first time thief! They punched below the lock and boom they were in. Again, good food but you might want to take a bus, cab or a train! I called the restaurant and told them what happened and he stated "thanks for the advice" we will tell people to lock their car- really???? Doesn't seem to matter!

People keep mentioning, it is as good as what El Rio used to be,It's the same family that used to own El Rio. We love love love Los Rios. The food is good & consistent & priced right. My Family & I have been fans since they opened the doors! We as a family can go eat & have a big beer & Rita's for around $30.00

I like this place! I have been a regular since they opened, and love it when i get a chance to catch lunch here. Service is always fast and friendly. Occasionally there is some miscommunication between the waiter and the kitchen, or they forget something, but they are always quick to make it better. When you arrive they immediately bring chips and an enormous "pitcher" of salsa, I think it's a Cumming thing. The chips are always fine, the salsa is fresh but mild. The usual rice and refried beans accompaniments are solid. Have never had a bad meal here, and the friends I have brought all left happy. Okay, I have to admit that I am giving at least a 1/2 star of the rating because they have .99 draft beer! Great service, good food, cheap beer! Yay!
(4)Ken G.
Food was ok but they didn't have enough wait staff. Orders were wrong but got fixed. Too bad it was a bday dinner ad they didn't even celebrate. :(

Amazing food and great location! My boyfriend and i go here all the time. Never have had a bad experience
(5)Ryan A.
Met a few couples at Los Rios and we all brought our kids. Food was great and the staff was pretty attentive. Nice surroundings and pretty inexpensive. Good margaritas, plenty of chips and salsa, and the meals were quick and tasty. We'll definitely come back.

Los Rios is everything that El Rio used to be! I went to dinner at Los Rios on a Friday night around 7pm and the dinning room was packed. When i arrived, people waiting curbside for a table so I expected to wait about 20 minutes or so. But to my surprised it was only a 5 minute wait. The menu has all your favorites from El Rio, and I'm sure a few other combo options. I ordered the Bean Burrito, Rice, and Cheese Quesadilla Combo from the vegetarian section of the menu, and I was not disappointed. The food was delicious and very filling. My only complaint was that the quesadilla was slightly oily from the grill. I also enjoyed a strong house margarita! It had a kick to it and I was feeling good as I enjoyed my food! The service was fast and the wait staff was super friendly. I have already started to spread the word to my friends and family to jump on the Los Rios Bandwagon. This is the place to go for good Mexican food in Cumming. I will definitely be returning here for more of those strong house margaritas and great food.

Since the place we used to go closed down this is our new favorite mexican restaurant. Very good. Place is always packed and that is a good sign. Fast service with great food at a good price!
(4)Daniel G.
My coworkers and I visit about once or twice a week for lunch. We love the food and the excellent service!
(4)Trey C.
Service was ok to good. Wife got one steak and one chicken fajita but it lacked much flavor. I had traditional fajitas and the were similar to my wife's not much flavor. Margaritas are pretty good. I'd go back but probably try something different.
(3)Julie J.
Good food for great price. Love the Sunday beer specials while watching some football. Quickly becoming one of my go to places.
(4)Kirk B.
To be honest, I'm basing this review on one meal. I ordered a beef taco salad, and it was below average compared to many others I've eaten elsewhere. OTOH the chips and salsa were above average. The two fellows I had lunch with eat here often and really like it, the reason I was here with them.

What a clever play on some espanol - everyone moved from El Rio to Los Rios. I've been eating at El Rio for years and was always a very big fan. We went there last Saturday night and it was okay, the food was good - the service sucked. Then I found out that all the help from El Rio had left and opened up Los Rios. We went on a Friday night and the place was really busy, no wait - but tables were sure turning around. That to me means fresh and fast food. It was great and tasted exactly like El Rio (I'm quite the expert). The service was much better than we had received at El Rio the week prior. The shopping center and location kind of suck. It's not super easy to find, but GO. It's the best Mexican food in Cumming.
(4)Jessica R.
Real deal Mexican food! Huge and delicious margaritas. Great prices. Crowded on a Monday night! Food was very good. I will be a regular for sure!
(4)Kelly L.
It's like El Rio used to be! The food and the service are both great. Best fajitas ever.
(4)S W.
Very average Mexican food that is typical in the area and people think is great. This place just opened up the other month and is owned by the original owners of El Rio and tastes about the same. They aren't serving alcohol yet, I'm guessing they don't have their liquor license. The food was alright, nothing special and quite bland. After lots of salt and salsa over top of my lunch, it tasted much better. They bring a lot of salsa to the table for you to pour into small bowls. Like a very large maple syrup dispenser full of salsa, we went through at least half of it during lunch. Service is good and the prices are very reasonable for lunch. Somewhere between 2 and 3 stars, but nothing special.
