Don't be whimpy, try the curry duck. They will do a double meat dish with the jerk chicken too. Worth every penny! I'm an oxtail fan myself, but that's only because I love GAPS and Nourishing Traditions Diets. I have to admit thought I did break my six months without wheat to try their dumplings with the national dish of salty fish.

We didn't expect it to look nice on the inside because the outside is a little shabby. The service is great and food was too. I ordered the jerk wings on a bed of rice, plantains, and Mac and cheese. EVERYTHING on the plate as delicious!!! My husband had curry goat, cabbage, and roll. His was good too. I also like the fact that they had beverages from Jamaica as well. Ginger pineapple drink? YES!

The rice and peas were good. Tasty. The plantains very good. The slaw/house special salad was ok, probably won't have it again. The brown stewed chicken was very good, but the oxtail was tough and a disappointment. I hope it was just an off day and not the regular way it's cooked, since oxtail is my go to dish wherever its on the menu. The flavor was good, the gravy good, I just wish the oxtail was tender like its supposed to be.

Every once in a while you run into a place that is so different and unique that once you leave you think; "I gotta try that place again". Mercy's is such a place. Now I don't know authentic Jamaican cooking from a hole in the ground, but this place charmed the hell out of me, I loved the food and the ladies behind the counter treated me like I was a relative. They had scratched a lot of the items off the menu because they had just returned from Florida. They did have Jerk Chicken, Curry Chicken and Curry Shrimp. I opted for the Curry Shrimp with Macaroni and Cheese and Jamaican House Salad. With all of these, I found the dishes loaded with flavor and delicious. They have these bottles of Scotch Bonnet sauce which isn't as hot as I thought they would be but really quite good. The restaurant itself is kind of seedy but clean. About six tables in a small space. They don't serve alcohol but I'm not sure if they have anything against a BYOB deal. All in all, just a great place with great food. Truly a hidden gem. Only drawback is that they only prepare limited quantities of stuff, so when they're out, they're out!

Amazing homemade style food I go at least once a week - every thing I have tried is so good. Call ahead for the fried fish! Also love the curry chicken and curry goat - yum yum. Beef patties are spicy and they have Ting!

The place doesn't look like much, but the food is awesome. I got the jerk chicken lunch special with macaroni and a corn muffin. The chicken is so tender and flavorful and it comes with rice which is delicious with the spices from the chicken. It's some of the best chicken I've ever had without a doubt. The macaroni is surprisingly good as well. Not the best I've ever had, but certainly good. The corn muffin is homemade (unlike the rolls - at least I think, anyway) and it's very good. I had the sweet tea, but I definitely don't recommend it as it's pretty bad. I just get water instead now. Anyway, if you like tasty food then I recommend checking this place out.

Went here 3x's so far. The service is pretty decent. They prepare the food quickly. The jerk chicken and oxtails are wonderful. The curry chicken... not much. They give you a lot. I always save leftovers for later. The rice is ok too. The cabbage isn't very flavorful though. I still like the food overall though.

Delicious! I love hole in the wall restaurants and this is a gem in Columbus! It's a small restaurant with home cooked Jamaican food. I got the jerk chicken, rice and beans and steamed cabbage! This is a must try if you live in Columbus and you're looking for a tasty lunch!

I haven't really eaten much from here, but I was in the mood for some beef patties for lunch one day so I dropped in. Well I was more than pleased! It was delicious! The crust was nice and flaky and the meat had just the right spiciness to it. Gotta go back for me!

Yesterday was my first time eating here, and I must say that I was the opposite of disappointed. There was an older woman (who I assumes owns the place) who was very friendly when she greeted us. They have all the items they serve written on a dry-erase board, so it took us a minute to pick what we wanted to eat. The woman recommended the rice and beans for me to try, and she walked in the back and made me a small plate for me to sample. Needless to say, I decided to get the rice and beans. I had the jerk chicken with rice and beans, cabbage, macaroni and cheese, Jamaican beef patty, and she even gave us a cornbread muffin to try for free! And I must say that her cornbread was like no cornbread I've ever tried before. It had kind of a sweet taste like carrot cake with corn pieces on the inside, and it was just absolutely delicious! It was the only meal I ate that day, and I was full for the whole day. I recommend that you visit this restaurant, you won't regret it. Their hospitality alone would just make you want to come back again and again. :)

Good but not your grandma's Jamaican food. Very standard Jamaican food nothing specular you couldn't make at home or find in many other Jamaican restaurant. I would recommend this restaurant because the food does taste decent and is okay if you are in the mood for Jamaican food. They ran out of white rice, mac and cheese and a few other things by 6:00PM so be wary of the fact they might not have what you want.

Food was great. Wen you drive up you may say "I don't know about this place". It was tender Jamaican jerk chicken with great flavor. Macaroni and cheese is good and brown rice with beans and the sauce is yummy. The side salad is more coleslaw than salad. Great place and people are nice.

Delicious! May not seem like much from the outside, but the food is simply devine! Jerk and curry chicken are both wonderful, oxtails, beef patties, curried goat, steamed cabbage, even the rice and beans are all great. Small staff, but they are all very friendly and bend over backwards for their customers. All in all, a very good place to go if you're looking for some authentic Jamaican food!

Mercy's was served at my friends retirement party; I'd never tried Jamaican food but I will be putting in my order tonight.

The food is good, but you definitely don't get what you pay for. The prices are too steep for the quantity of food given. I'm from Atlanta, and these restaurants are all over the city. You get way more food for much less money. Also, they never have anything. I have been there a few times, and each time they're crossing something off of the menu that they've run out of. You would think that they would pay attention to the items that they run out of the quickest so that they can make more the next day, but nope! I definitely don't see how they get so many great reviews. I guess it's because they're one of the only Caribbean restaurants in the Columbus area. Even still, the truth is the truth. Try them for yourself, and you'll see what I mean. They won't have any jerk chicken, or they won't have mac and cheese, or a few other items will be crossed off of the menu.
