I am in LOVE with the Border & miss it every time I get an inkling for their amazing "Fried Burrito" stuffed with flavorful, shredded chicken and topped with a generous portion of their white queso dip. YUM-O!!! I spent four great years {college, baby!} in Carrollton & as much as I complained back then about the few dining options in town, I never passed up an opportunity to go to The Border. In fact my friends & now Hubs got to the point where they wouldn't ask where I wanted to go for dinner - they knew where my loyalty lay. Not only is the fried burrito absolutely scrumptious, their tacos de carne asada should be revered as well. Three perfect flour tortillas practically stuffed with steak & topped with cilantro; served with their green tomatillio salsa & a side of rice, perfection. And probably enough to share when you consider the chips + salsa and (obligatory) order of queso. The Boarder is also a fantastic place to meet friends for drinks; their prices can't be beat & service always gracious & super-speedy. For instance, a pitcher of Bud light is only $6.50! Just be aware that this is a college town, and The Boarder is located right off campus, so if that scene isn't for you - The Boarder might not be either. Although the upstairs patio (not the one on the lower level, near the bar) is usually quite & peaceful, perfect for a Saturday afternoon lunch...

The only time I ever went here is with my colleagues from work, as this was our supervisors go-to choice due to the convenience to our work location. Needless to say I am not a fan of The Border. The food is lacking and always extremely greasy. Never tried any of the drinks since each time was during the workday. I don't recall ever going here to dine while I was a student at UWG and I'm glad I didn't. This would be my last choice of places to dine in Carrollton.

Stopped in yesterday for lunch and overall it was just okay. My sever was very nice and the man who brings the chips around was nice as well. The prices are a little high and the food wasn't remarkable. I got queso, two tacos and beans. The salsa is made in house and you can really taste how fresh it is, which was a huge plus. The layout of the restaurant was very confusing for me. You can go upstairs and eat too. Probably will not be back

Love the food and the price is comfortable. Everyone my wife and I shop in, the service is great. Good comes hot and in a timely manner. Keep up the good work. I would recommend it to family and friends.

My personal favorite Mexican restaurant in town, however, the quality has definitely taken a hit in recent years. You once could not find a seat, and now they are usually never more than half filled. That being said, I think it's more a sign of Carrollton's growing number of options at restaurant rather than a sign of a restaurant in decline.

The food is amazing! I frequent Mexican restaurants at least twice a week. An the boarder by far Has some of the best Mexican food I have bet eaten. I would give it 5 stars but the service isn't always good

I would eat here again. In town for business. I've eaten at the Lazy donkey in town before. Either place is the same for me. Typical Mexican food made american style. Service was good. Eat dinner here. Food was typically priced for a place like this. No alcohol or desert for me. Just dinner. They do have an outdoors area that looked pretty decent. And they look like they can handle pretty good sized crowds. The location is really close to the University.

Great atmosphere, fills the craving for Mexican food and margaritas. Nothing too out of the ordinary here, has the usual Mexican dishes and plates. It's proximity to campus also helps it's popularity. Definitely give it a try!

The Border! Oh, how I miss the Border!!! Not the best mexican food in town (Lazy Donkey is the best), but the Border is right next to campus and you can guarantee it will be packed. The margharitas are pretty damned good, too.

DONT DO IT! THEY STEAL!!! AND ARE VERY RUDE ESPECIALLY THE MANAGER JESUS WHO BASIS ON HIS ATTITUDE SHOULDN'T BE MANAGING ANYONE!!! I would really give this restaurant, the staff specifically the server Larry Thompson, and the manager Jesus -5000 stars if I could. The place lacks class and isn't worth a pot to piss in. The hiring manager Jesus hires incompetent staff - Larry T. and trains them inadequately to perform their duties. Thus delivery horrible customer, which I believe stems from the manager himself. Evidence by my most recent trip to this establishment of one could call it that. Unfortunately for them I caught them try to STEAL from their customers as the server Larry had charged my card twice for 2 different and return with 1 check. When I confronted Jesus about the charges instead of simply refunding me the excess billed he became irate at the fact that I wanted a refund or proof of a void because "suddenly the card machine wasn't working." After some time of back and forth banter and being belittled by Jesus with remarks such as "this must be your first time in a restaurant," "you don't know how banks work" and "she has some issues" I was only able to get money back by first coming back to the restaurant and secondly refusing to leave without proof of the void check or my money in cash. I will NEVER step foot in establishment again and warn others against it! AGAIN THEY STEAL! DONT DO IT AND IF YOU DO CHECK YOUR BANK STATEMENT!

Located near West Georgia College, it's the best Mexican restaurant I've ever been to and I don't like Mexican food. It's one of my dads favorite Mexican restaurants. He went there often when he was working in Carrollton. The waiting staff are very friendly.

Not really my cup of tea... However, it's close to the college campus, and the students who aren't from Carrollton seem to like it. There are a lot of things with guacamole on them, so if you don't like it, make sure you ask your waiter if it's included or not. I haven't eaten here in years because I go to the Donkey for Mexican.

it is ALWAYS a good time when coming here. The prices went up just recently but the food is decent. Just like all mexican restaurant, the taste of the food is kind of the same no matter what u order. I come here for their chips and salsa. Awesome! The prices for drinks are reasonable. If ur on a budget, I would suggest trying the BURRO LOCO with beef tips. Make sure u have someone to split it with cuz its HUGE. It will come to 9 bucks. Tip not included. Also try FRIED BURRITO in beef tips for days when u just want a nibble. The place is clean and never had a problem with staff unless they are busy.. they tend to rush you out during these times.

Very solid place to go for some good Mexican food in a nice environment with excellent service. Don't let the outside fool you. Once you get inside you will be pleased with the atmosphere and the quick service. And the food is excellent at a reasonable price. I recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for good Mexican food at a reasonable price in the Carrollton area.

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
