The food was good, but the experience ruined it. We wandered in on trivia night. I am not a fan of it, but I understand why bars do it. The issue was with the audio. The equipment is either bad or was not set up properly. It sounded awful with a lot of cracking and squelching. It was quite distracting. We sat at the bar because it was a full house. Our bartender was friendly and helpful. The drinks were ok and everything is priced ok. I ordered the Krispy Kreme Burger. It is clearly awful for you, but given the opportunity I had to try it. It did not disappoint. The combination of sweet and savory was tasty. Instead of buns there are Krispy Kreme donuts. It comes with a 1/2 lb black angus burger topped with applewood smoked bacon, caramelized onions, American cheese and barbecue sauce. All of that combined for a very good experience. The fries were fairly good too. I do not know if I could eat the whole thing again, but it was worth it once to try it. If we had come in on any other night it would have been a much better experience. They have to figure out the audio issues or cancel trivia. This is easily a 3 or 3.5 without the issue.

I only visited here again because my date wanted to try out the food. The Krispy Kreme burger was interesting as the buns were composed of Krispy Kreme doughnuts. o.O This made the burger a tad sweeter. I mean a doughnut is already sweet, but I think this was a tad sweeter because of the onions. The caramelized onions, yes caramelized, could have contributed to its overall sweetness. Overall the patty was pretty big; it was about an inch in thickness (?). The burger itself came with fries too if you're wondering or curious. My date and I shared a taco appetizer since our appetites were small. We settled on the Italian tacos since it came with 2; perfect for sharing. :) The burger was interesting. I would def suggest giving it a go. I am not a red meat, burger eating gal, but it was pretty tasty. If you're trying to shed extra weight or trying to avoid excess calories, um, I'd stay away from this menu item as it does have bacon in it as well. At this point, I didn't care very much since I was already consuming half a dang (unhealthy) burger. lol. I think this place usually holds a lot more adults, but on this particular Sunday evening, parents were out with their kids... And the little ones just killed the atmosphere as they laughed, shouted, and kicked the booth ( where I was on the other side O.O ). Kids are kids, but the recommendation was that this place was not really children friendly. This is more of a place for either happy hour or a casual dinner. I hold strong to my 3 stars. Service-wise, it was a tad above average. Perhaps if there were half stars, I would have rated it as so. The waitress did come and re-fill our waters and asked how we were doing, but there was nothing too wowing that would warrant another star.

I love this place. I have not had a bad experience here yet. Best thing about it - it's not overly crowded. Most of the places to eat around the Mall of GA are swamped during meal times. It's hard to find a place to sit down and eat - the whole area is over capacity. My family and I routinely come to Parma Tavern to get a lunch or early dinner after some shopping therapy.

Have eaten here an several occasions and have never had a bad meal The Cesar salad is THE best and the pizza can't be beat. Servers are great and super friendly. I would highly recommend for a casual lunch or dinner

Came in on a game night. Place didn't seem super crowded, but it still took a little long to get some service after being seated. We checked in on Yelp and were happy to get a free item for checking in. When I asked the server I was told the item is no longer on their menu and I noticed the offer was valid for early September 2014. We went in January 2015. I had a buford burger which was perfectly fine. Nothing to complain about and nothing to rave over. It was quite simply a hamburger. The fries were pretty good tasting as well. I'd like to go back again one day to try the Krispy Kreme burger. Doesn't look like my cup of tea, but still seems interesting to try.

I visited Parma on a late Thursday night. Single lady from out of town looking for a nice drink and some good food. Bartender Mike made a delicious Grey Goose martini. The Big Shrimpin pizza was amazing! I took some back to my hotel and it was still just as good cold. They were only making pizza that late so I couldn't try the Krispy Kreme burger. I would love to try more of the menu. Music was good too.

Love this place!!! Delicious food always fresh. Wait staff rocks!!! I have always had great servers. They always have a few good craft beers on tap. I've had a number of different food items and I would recommend them all.

Amazing food and amazing service! I had the Krispy Kreme burger and it's probably hands down one of the best burgers I've ever had. Something definitely worth trying! I will be going back!

Nice hang out spot with friends or a loved one. Throughout the night I tried the eggplant chips, justin's kettle chips, mac and cheese, and chopped mozzamato salad. Don't judge, I have a healthy appetite!! All of it was delicious. Good beer and wine selection for the connoisseurs. Good food, good drinks, and good times. Will def be back for more. Also, if you are bored on a weds night in Buford, I heard they have trivia. Enjoy!!

First time coming here. Not really impressed. Our waitress does not seem like she's real happy to be here. She reviewed the menu with us but clearly only because she had to. She was also pretty slow at brining us out our food, which we had seen sitting in the ready counter for a while. We ordered the truffle fries for an appetizer which were good. We also ordered a pizza and the Krispy Kreme burger. The pizza sat ready for about 10 minutes before it came out, but not before they stuck it in a microwave to try and reheat it. The burger is large and very greasy. It's also extremely sweet. Not to mention I ordered it without onions and it came out covered in onions. If you like that sort of greasy sweetness go for it. Pretty sure we won't be back but you live and learn.

Great food but the restaurant could be cleaner. Good beer, location and server's are friendly

This place is amazing! We had heard great things about Parma so we decided to try it. The pizza was phenomenal and the chicken club was pretty good as well. If you love buffalo sauce then you HAVE to try it- one of the best I've had!

Visiting Atlanta during a recent business trip, Yelp app guided me here. Didn't realize it was Wednesday's trivia night but I settled in and ordered dinner nonetheless. Had the lobster ravioli. 5 pieces of decent size with good size. Inside the pasta was stuffed with a good size of lobster - at least more than I expected. Atmosphere - trivia atmosphere. The host walked around greeting folks and really made it interactive. He told jokes, played songs, and constantly talked that you were constantly entertained whether participating or not in trivia.

Parma Tavern is a cool little spot. It's a tad bit upscale and offers a nicer bar experience than many of the other options out here by the Mall of Georgia. The food: The pizza is excellent. Really, really good. My fiance got the Krispy Kreme burger and was not that impressed. It's fun and sticky, but the meat wasn't seasoned and the burger meat itself was just not great. He got it with a side of Parmesan Fried, which were really good. The Drinks: It's got a full bar and the prices are reasonable. It seems pretty busy and there was a decent (slightly older) crowd. The Service: Waitress was polite and prompt. Overall, I recommend and will return in the future.

  • Helen P.

You have to try the Krispy Kreme burger at least once, just to say that you've had one. Honestly after a few bites it gets to be a little too much, but it's bonus bragging rights!! I remember having the pasta here and it wasn't anything special. I would not rule out coming back but it was not my favorite.

I'm rating on the quality of food alone....everything else was just ok. We went on a Thursday night with no kiddos so I guess you could call this date night. From the moment we walked in the place was so loud I couldn't hear myself think. Full of loud mouthed bar groupies. We waited for a table a short time and while waiting I noticed there were only two servers working the entire restaurant. Surprisingly the service was ok. Not long after we sat down the Parma sponsored softball team walked in and it all went down hill noise wise. A couple of those meatheads were yelling and screaming like they own the place. Yelling at the bartender, the others at the table sitting across from them. Maybe they were hard of hearing I don't know but they sure made it known they were there. Let's talk about the food....spinach and artichoke dip was outstanding. I had the parmesan crusted chicken which was awesome and the wife had the carbonara which was a special for June. It was really good as well. This is a great place to hang after work or with a group on an impromtu weekend night out but date night, no. If the softball team is there turn around and walk out. We'll come back but maybe on a Tuesday!

I must admit, I always "eye" the donught burger and wonder what it would taste like but I have yet to try it. Instead, I have truly enjoyed their other dishes: pumpkin pizza - squash ravioli - and burgers. All are delish! The service is great and the decor of the restaurant is pretty cool. My husband and I are fans!

My wife and I randomly found this place after a long walk through nearby Mall of Georgia and this has been "our spot" ever since. We've tried almost everything on the menu and fallen in love with it. with over a dozen visit under my belt, my go-to is the parmesian crusted chicken and the dozens of people I've taken here and reccomended it also agree. The ambiance is similar to a local sports bar but a few shades classier simply because it's not a chain and the decor is better quality.

Great place to eat. Good service, healthy menu, very cool hipster scene. Just a great spot to chill and hang.

  • Jared S.

Krispy Kreme Burger is heaven on a bun. And the bun is a freakin' donut! If I had one week to live, I would devour these sugary fat stacks several times a day. Even if the service was slow (it wasn't). Even if the place was dirty (it wasn't). Even if the cost was outrageous (it wasn't). I would still come to eat this masterpiece. My favorite burger so far. Ever.

Parma has the best Italian food around. the sauce is amazing. The pizza and Italian specialities are not like any other restaurant in the area everyone I have brought there just loves it. Yes it can be very noisy at times which can be a deterrent. They just need a bigger place.

Krispy Kreme Burger! The thought of this made me want to puke I hate Krispy Kreme donuts. But I have to admit it was surprisingly good. The meat was good also. I just had to try it. Went there for a birthday party for my nephew. The service was great appetizers great and the beer selection was good. Chaimy on draft, so good. Nothing was bad. I would recommend this place. Amy was such a great waitress very attentive and fast.

First of all the wait staff could not be any nicer. They are super friendly and very knowledgeable of the menu. Our waitress made some great recommendations and took very good care of us. They have lots of great beer choices and lots of specials that change monthly. I have eaten here two times now. The pizza is very good. The crust is so good. They were so nice to us. We ordered the large pizza. Because it came out a little smaller than they thought it should be, they made us another pizza. We were not expecting that and really didn't notice but my husband was thrilled. He had lunch for the next day. I had a side Caesar salad with my pizza and the dressing was wonderful. My daughter had the crab stuffed ravioli. It came out beautifully presented. It was very good. We had to end the meal with mini cannolis. All in all great food and amazing customer service.

Our first visit to Parma Rustic Tavern. It reminded me slightly of Ray's Killer Creek wood panel style. Beautiful restaurant. Normally I am not a big pasta fan but thought it would be a nice place to eat lunch. Plus it is something new for my husband to try and enjoy as he goes to work in mornings and do not get to eat out as much. We both ordered the Classic Lasagna and side salads. The lasagnas were delivered to our table on a plate with a small HOT frying pan and side of herb rosemary sprinkle log roll! It was that good!!! Better than Ippolitos!!! Afterwards, we both ordered two miniature cannolis. These were very small for the size, smaller than the ones you would find in Publix deli but delicious nonetheless. It was a pleasurable lunch experience and will like to eat here again soon.

I loved the ambiance of the restaurant, very good feel and decor. Pizza and pasta dishes were very tasty. My low review is based on service only. Our server was very friendly but I think she was the only person working other than the bartender. Our beers were sitting on the bar for her to pick up for the longest time!! It was frustrating because we couldn't get her attention almost like she was trying not to look at us. They really didn't seem that busy either?? I had to get up and walk up to her to ask her to bring our beers. If you're on any type of schedule, you should probably skip this place.

Went for lunch during a recent road trip. Good food, relaxing atmosphere. I had the Dona Rosa pizza, which sounded suspiciously like a pizza margherita, although there was also a pizza with that name on the menu. I was right - a pizza margherita with a pseudonym. In any case, it was excellent. The crust was crispy, thin with a fine edge. An examination of the edge showed the proper structure of a dough that was proofed properly and allowed to rise correctly. Although the menu describes a dough made with honey, it was not sweet or sugary in the least. (That's a good thing for this Yankee) The cheese blend was excellent with a proper melt and just enough stringiness to add a nice mouth feel to the pie. The tomatoes were nicely distributed and tasted fresh and slightly acidic. The only negative side to the dish was the failure to distribute the garlic properly. All of it seemed to fall in one quadrant of the pizza. A little "manual readjustment" solved that problem. My wife ordered the Buford burger. It was cooked properly but the beef blend had a slightly unusual taste - not a bad taste, but different. The accompanying French fries were hand cut and excellent. My wife said that she would order something else next time. We ordered the special banana bourbon cheesecake to share. It was eminently forgettable. The bananas were under-ripe and the bourbon in the cheesecake had not been reduced, so the alcohol smell and taste permeated the dessert. Most unpleasant and, at eight bucks for a small slice, horribly overpriced. Similarly, the iced tea was weak and mostly ice with a little tea. This is one of my pet peeves. Brewed tea is cheap. Why do restaurants charge nearly three bucks for a sixteen ounce glass of ice with a dollop of tea? SUMMARY: Pizza - excellent Hamburger - Good, but not great Dessert - simply awful Iced tea - weak and overpriced Service - fine

First time visiting Parma. Decided to visit after seeing a movie at Mall of Ga. We ordered the kettle chips which were amazing!!! Hubby had the 76 burger (monthly special, not a menu regular) Whig was over and beyond!! I had the classic lasagna. If you come to an Italian eatery you have to try a classic right? Well it was delicious! Also great drink selections! Great first impression, we'll definitely be back.

Came on a Saturday around noon. We were greeted and seated promptly by our server Kim. She was very polite and courteous and took the time to go over the menu with us. The food and service were top notch.

LOVE the interior of this place - beautiful! The staff was very friendly, loved our waitress! The menu has great choices and a nice beer menu! My food was really tasty - I had the crab ravioli, YUM. The sauce was fantastic. I had a caeser salad as my side - also very good! I would give this place 5 stars - but the when our food came out..it wasn't hot. Just warm, my only complaint!! I will definitely be going back!

We were hungry after spending the day house hunting & shipping, so my husband wanted something close by & we both wanted to try something new. This place was perfect, as it was about 3 mins from the mall (Mall of Ga) in one of the many shopping centers off of Buford drive. Once we arrived, we parked in the back because the front was full. We walked in and waited for about 7 mins at the front before anyone told us that it was self seat. This annoyed me because the girl who ended up being our server actually greeted us, and decided to not say a word about it. She passed us by 2 or 3 times before she decided to say "seat yourselves" Also, there were 2 woman at the bar who watched us stand at the hostess table as well and didn't notify us. It wasn't until we turned around to leave out that we were informed. Once we had a seat, out server came by, she wasn't very friendly. Not rude, but just not warm & friendly like what one expects from a waiter. She wasn't the best, but certainly not the worst. On a positive note: The food is GREAT!! I dined in with my husband & 2 kids & everyone enjoyed everything! We started off with the spinach dip fondue, which was a meal in itself! It's served with marinated cherry tomato slices & sliced garlic with tortilla chips. For my entree I chose the Parmesan crusted chicken, which was also yummy (the sauce on the chicken was some type of creamy Dijon sauce, so you won't enjoy it if you don't like Dijon mustard, but I love it & loved the dish all the same! It's served with Alfredo over penne pasta, which was a perfect way for me to test out the Alfredo without actually having to order it. It was good by the way, perfectly seasoned, and creamy. My husband ordered the Krispy Kreme Angus cheeseburger, which was absolutely DELICIOUS! The buns are real Krispy Kreme doughnuts, icing and all!! The burger itself was flavorful & seasoned to perfection. It's served with grilled onions, bacon, American cheese & barbecue sauce (which I typically don't like on a burger), but just a little, didn't take away from the burger or overpower it, it was just a tiny bit. The burger was served with what looked & tasted like hand cut fries. We NEVER order restaurant burgers, but ya can't pass up something like this lol. Our kids gobbled up every drop of their meal, they had cheese pizza, this too did not disappoint. The pizza looked good, but unfortunately they weren't sharing with mommy. For dessert I had the Carrot cake. It wasn't that great. It was a 3 layer cake, served cold & full of all sorts of odd things that I'm unsure of what they were. There was coconut, carrot, and something I noticed something green after we finished off majority of the cake, I was afraid to ask what it was. The icing was super sweet, but it wasn't traditional cream cheese icing, it was more of a whipped icing, which went well with the cake since it was served cold. Overall, the carrot cake was just ok, I wouldn't order it again. I ordered a mini cannoli for my daughter, and this will definitely be my dessert on my next trip to Parma! It was SO good!! I only got to try the filling because my daughter pretty much swallowed it whole lol. It was dense, and sweet, and oh so tasty, I could just eat it alone off of a spoon. All and all, Parma is a great place to dine. It's cozy, clean, the server was tolerable, the prices are awesome and the food is EXCELLENT! I gave 4 stars because our first impression was that we weren't welcome in the restaurant & that pretty much set the tone for me. They should put a sign up if it's self seat, especially if there's a hostess stand at the entrance, otherwise there's no way to know. Great food, ok service, will return.

Tonight was my first and last visit. Maybe Monday at 7:00 PM was the wrong day and time to come in, order a glass of wine, and place a to go order at the bar. The bartender and his guy friends were loud and throwing the F bomb for everyone in the area to hear. They really didn't seem to care who heard or who they might be offending. I would not write this review over lots of F this F___ing that! I draw the line at the bartender telling a story for all in area to hear about grabbing some girls t-ts! Then his little buddies were all laughing and going on about how they F___ing heard that. Really? I was offended by the lack of respect the bartender had for me as customer that he did not know, let a alone being a women! Seemed more like a college bar than a restaurant . I would NOT recommend Parma for a girls night or a family. So it really doesn't matter how good or bad your food is if you let the bartender and his friends use offensive language and tell nasty stories. Maybe that is the atmosphere you want and I went to wrong place!

Love this place! The staff is amazing and we feel so welcome every time we come! All the dishes are amazing and they have specialty items that change frequently. It can get a little loud when there are big parties or bar crowds, but everything else about the atmosphere is very enjoyable!

First time here, husband and I tried the Margarita pizza and the chicken Alfredo, both very good. The space inside is small so it wouldn't be good for large groups but it isn't too small for a date night. Will be back!

A great lunch and happy hour spot. I haven't had the pleasure of going for a full dinner yet but I'm looking forward to going back. We had a super lunch starting off with a fresh local craft beer. They have many to choose from and it varies daily. I got a turkey club on ciabatta. Excellent!! The bread was super fresh and the bacon crisp. The fries were so good I could have had just them alone!!

  • Kendra H.

I gave this place a 5 star the first time, but a 4 star now cause they no longer have lobster ravioli, now they have "crab" stuffed ravioli and it wasn't nearly as good. It was just like a crab stuffing with no visual pieces of crab at all, when they had the lobster it was all lobster hunks but the crab was disappointing. Other than that the Caesar salad was awesome and desert was pretty good too.

My first time here and it was a super fun experience. My bestie and I came for an early dinner and the atmosphere was fun and welcoming. The lighting is darker, making things feel more intimate. We ordered some parmasan fries to start off and we devoured them, they were so crispy and delicious. I ordered crab ravioli and she ordered chicken pesto sandwich. Every thing tasted deliciouss, our waitress was super attentive and she got us everything we needed. This place is great. You're missing out if you don't give it a try.

Rainy Saturday afternoon... On Yelp searching for places to eat (I'm new in the area) found Parma. Walked in and seated promptly, ordered the chips and bruschetta to start... The kettle chips are AMAZING!! Must get! .. We then shared the Krispy Kreme Burger.... It was pretty damn good. I'm very picky with having utensils and cups clean and they were! Will keep coming

Went here for a Sunday lunch before catching a movie. I had the Parmesan Crusted Chicken and substituted the penne Alfredo for whole wheat penne with marinara. The chicken was absolutely delicious. Very juicy and the Panko that they covered it with gave it a great crunch. Very highly recommend this dish. If I had to complain then it would be about the pasta, as it was overcooked. Much to far past al dente. But this is a danger with a whole wheat pasta. Overall, a great meal and I would certainly return.

Updated Feb 2015 Family eats here at least once a month. The variety of choices is enough to satisfy all the picky eaters we have. Food is always excellent and service is very good. Upped from 4 stars to 5 Original review Decided to check this place out due to the good Yelp reviews. My wife was hesitant due to "tavern" in the name. Needless to say, Yelp did not steer us wrong. Most of the places in the Mall of Georgia area are chain places, so Parma is a refreshing addition. They have quite a variety of food - italian, sandwiches, burgers, wings, so it is a good place when everyone in the family can't agree on a single type of food for dinner (which happens to us quite often as the kids get older). There were 4 of us, and we all ordered different dishes (French dip, lobster ravioli, Parm crusted chicken, and fettuccini Alfredo. Everyone really enjoyed their dish, and the truffle aioli was a HUGE hit. We are all looking forward to our next visit, so we can all try something new on their menu.

Looked for a casual place near Mall of Georgia to bring co-workers who had just flown in for the week. I carefully weighed options and needed something that wasn't a chain restaurant, wasn't too fine-dining since we were all dressed very casually, and something that wasn't "lunch casual" (a hole in the wall). Based on the high ratings, I chose Parma. The atmosphere and decor here were spot-on, so I was hopeful. We were all starving and ordered the kettle chips app. Two hungry men and me and we barely touched it. I've had this app done well at other places and you want to put your face in it, but here it was just not great. The chips were slightly burnt and the amount of toppings so skimpy that it was just dry overcooked under salted potatoes. Not promising. When our meals came, I noticed no one had nice things to say about the food. My pizza was such a disappointment. It actually tasted like someone made the dough out of a just-add-water kit. No rich yeasty taste, no toothy crunch outside with soft inside like I expect from a wood fired pizza oven. It was BAD. There seemed to be no yeast because it had no rise in the crust at all. I've seriously had better pizza from a frozen box. And the "cream sauce" drizzled over the Piccante pizza was gross and seemed like a way to cut corners and re-use a sauce that is probably in several other menu items. They would seriously do better if they just bought in flatbread like I do to make pizza at home when I'm being lazy. My co-workers did not have anything to say about their entrees, but from the general vibe I got it wasn't anything to write home about. Yelp fail! I just don't understand the reviews for this place being so amazing. I purposefully steered away from the zillion chain restaurants in the area hoping for a more rarefied experience, but this place was exceptionally disappointing. Based on what I ate there I would never return.

I met a friend here for lunch this past Saturday, and I thought the food was delicious! I had the portobello sandwich, and it was very flavorful. The fries were very good too. My friend had an entree salad that she enjoyed. Will definitely be back!

Parma is a good stop if you're escaping the stampede from Mall of Georgia, but just good. You'll find something you're in the mood for, but probably nothing too outside the box. They do tout the ephemeral "Krispy Kream Burger" like a few others in town. I didn't oblige, but I'm sure it's wonderfully memorable. We split some of the kettle chips. Thick-cut, covered in scallions, and cheese. Great app to split amongst three people. I'd definitely get these again. I had the Chopped Chicken Gorgonzola Salad. Where most of the salad was great, the roasted chicken was cold and a little off-putting. I'd totally order this salad again, but I think I'd ask if they could warm up the chicken instead. Overall, Parma is a great choice for lunch. Nice and reliable.

2 dollar house pints thats not bud light? YES! This place is pretty good. The food has always been good here and the drinks are cheap. Ther only downfall is that there is only one waitress for the whole floor. So if tehres a larger group that comes in than yours, goodluck with service. If they hired another waitress and charged me a dollar more for the dish, i'd be much happier. Get the krispey kreme burger. Get the parma burger. Get the chicken parmigiana. All food has been good here. Havent had a bad meal yet.

First time to visit. We were a party of six. Ample sitting as we had an early dinner. Every one ordered something different and we sampled each other's fare. The eggplant chips with sauce were awesome. As was the Justin's potato chips with a mild white dipping cheese dip. Burgers great as was the pasta and the French Dip. Their fries are hand cut and fried perfectly. The only negative was out of two beers I initially ordered. Service was attentive and friendly. Watch your check which we had adjusted due to multiple checks. We definitely will repeat.

From NC, visiting Atlanta for my 14 y.o. daughters Spring Break. She wanted to visit a friend in Buford. It was about 10 pm by the time we drove 40 minutes from Atl to Buford. We asked her friends mother where to get a bite to eat. My wife and I were very pleased with the service, live Music and quality of food. It was Elite 8 NCAA basketball weekend and live music...just what I wanted. We ordered the bruschetta and split a wedge. My wife ordered the 8 inch Margherita pizza, I ordered the sliders with brisket and hand cut fries. It was all delicious :-) The waitress was personable and attentive. I would go back if I ever get a chance.

What would a girl do without "Living Social?" I was open to driving to Buford after purchasing their groupon. It is small, clean and situated in a nice shopping center. The service was good and the food was surprisingly delicious. One should not be on a diet when approaching...their Krispy Kreme burger was nothing short of amazing. My husband ordered it and had tears in his eyes. The flavor was robust in the beef and the grilled Krispy Kreme dougnut bun was fattty perfection! It seems strange, so I let him be the guinea pig for once we saw it on the menu. I wished I had because my Parm Chix w/penne was average. The Mac and CZ skillet was FREAKIN BANGIN! Fresh cut fries were so tasty, crisp and fresh. It sucks that this place is 25 miles away, perhaps that's best for my waistline. They have live music on Fridays and Saturdays.

I've been twice: burgers, fried crab ravioli, and the cheese fondue dish are all excellent. I give Parma only three stars because only ten minutes after their musician took the stage my ears were ringing and any hope for conversation at the table were gone. If you do go, do so before 10p on the weekends. Good music should enhance the experience, not clear half the bar in fifteen minutes.

Great atmosphere, the best pizza I have eaten since I can remember. Pretty good selection on draught. The General Manager came and introduced himself to my girlfriend and I the first time we ate there. We came back that next day and my burger was cooked to perfection. This place is seriously awesome.

The food here was the food you would receive at a standard Italian restraunt. The food was average, beside the fact that an Italian restraunt did NOT have pizza. It would not be my first choice of restraunt to go, but it wouldn't be my last!

Great place for the nightlife and drinks. Thursdays are usually jumpin. The food isn't bad. Try the Krispy Kreme burger. You won't regret it.

I frequently here a lot. Live music with great bartenders. It's a great place to meet new people if you're out in the dating scene. It has a nice mix of ages from 23 and up. I've had tacos, wings and pasta from this place and they're always good. I just honestly wish it was larger. It's so small it starts to get crowded very fast. Especially on $1 beer night. If they moved, I'd follow.

Back for a game, a couple Stella's, those addicting egg plant chips and a pie. Spot on as always. Good little pub. Servers are always in a good mood.

The Burger Tour was in the mood for Italian and just happened to stop in Parma and noticed........the Krispy Kreme Burger! Ok, fine...Italian goes on the back burner and let's have a burger. A big burger, cooked medium(they even print that on the menu), with bacon, mild and sweet bbq sauce. American cheese, and carmelized onions. Made complete by two Krispy Kreme's. I actually had a variation of this burger six months ago with Sublime donuts and this one gets an edge because these donuts were bigger. It was fun to eat too, because I couldn't put it down. I had to keep holding it because the donuts go a little soft. Part of the charm. John the manager came out and said hi and we swapped opinions and such. Always nice to see anyone in charge no matter how busy a place is. It shows good leadership and customer service. Oh yeah...more food......we started with Italian tacos. Really good, and a nice twist on an appetizer. These are popular here and it's easy to see why. I liked the combo of flavors. Also, someone got a wonderful salad with a caesar type dressing and gorgonzola cheese. We also had very fine service from Kim(who's married. It's ok Kim..... No, really, it's fine.) and also liked the overall atmosphere.

Parma Tavern is a dim-litted restaurant/bar located just past Mall of Georgia. It's in the same shopping center as Chipotle. I've been here twice, and I tried the same thing both times. My purpose for coming here was solely for the Krispy Kreme donut burger. The burger consists of a medium patty, cheese, bacon, grilled onions, BBQ sauce and of course, two donuts as the buns. I've always loved the concept of pairing sweet and savory foods together, so I definitely love this burger! I usually get it without the onions and BBQ sauce though, per my tastes. I also get my burger medium rare also. It's perfectly sweet, salty, and juicy all at the same time! It does get sickening after awhile though. My patty was pretty under-seasoned, but I'm assuming that's because there are so many flavors going on already with the burger. The first time I got my burger with a Caesar salad, which was normal and fine. The second time, I substituted for Parmesan truffle fries. They were bland even though they were piled with Parmesan cheese. The fries itself are not very tasty. I love the truffle aioli that comes with it though! Service was normal and friendly both times. My waitress did confuse my order since I didn't want onions and BBQ, but our whole table had various specific orders, so I understand the confusion. I would definitely recommend this place if you want to try the donut burger! It's a must-try when it comes to the burger world. Food-3.5 Service-5

The good was excellent! The Parmesan Alfredo could have been cheesier but overall the good was expertly prepared. The Mista salad is great for anyone who loves a good balsamic vinaigrette. The ambience if the place is a little weird because it is upscale but the music that is played is techno club music but it is not a club and does not offer a place to dance. But if you can look past this the food and place are both great.

So I dined here last week because I had a restaurant.com coupon for this place. The fiance and I both had the Buford burger which was ok. Instead of regular hamburger buns, they use ciabatta bread. The bread was delicious, but the ratio of bread to meat was definitely off. I found myself with a whole lot of extra bread left over. It wasn't that big of a deal however because they have this slightly spicy, tasty olive oil concoction at each table that I used for dipping to eat the rest of my bread with. I would've given this place 3 stars but I took one off because of the service. When we came in, we weren't greeted by anyone so we figured it was a seat yourself kinda place so we just sat ourselves. We sat down at a booth and noticed that the table was slightly dirty. It wasn't disgustingly dirty or anything so we decided to stay there. We sat and sat, then about 5 minutes or so later, we were finally greeted by our waitress. She was about to hand us our menus then noticed that the table was dirty so she went and got a towel without handing us the menus. Instead, she handed our menus to the people sitting at the table next to us, who had also arrived AFTER us. So because of that action, the table next to us were served before we were. When we finally got the chance to order, it felt like the food took forever to come out. I mean, how long does it take to grill a burger? So the bottom line is, they have good ciabatta bread but it's definitely not good enough for me to want to come back!

Food is pretty good. I got the chicken pesto sandwich. I give it four starts because the service was just not all that. Granted it was busy, but the waitress would go completely missing for several minutes at a time. I got up two times and walked around the restaurant to try to get the check.

Great place!! I caught on to this place when they were brand new and felt like a more formal alternative to the chain places nearby. The food was fantastic. I love their chicken sandwich. The service was also above average. Great ambiance. Since inception it's changed a bit. The atmosphere is more of a pub than a quiet place, but the food and service have remained fantastic. I love the new feel to the place, too! The servers and bartenders ALWAYS seem to be in fantastic moods - it must be a fabulous place to work! The bar is full service, really cheap, and not stingy with the pouring in mixed drinks. I love it here! What a great place to spend some time!

Went here the other day for lunch and then the next day for dinner. I gotta say this place has incredible food. I'll lead of with saying GET THE KETTLE COOKED CHIPS! I got them both times I came and ate to the plate both times. I had the Krispy Kreme burger of legend and it measured up. Burger was well seasoned, bacon was just the right blend between [k]rispy and chewy, but it got rather smushed when I tried to pick it up and eat. Just use a fork and knife (for a burger you say? I know) and you'll be fine. I also had another burger, but the name escapes me. It's right above the KK burger on the menu and I comes on flatbread of sorts. Again, burger was very flavorful, bacon at the right chewiness, and overall great meal. Service is ok, nothing mind blowing, but there also pretty new so can't blame them to much. The only thing this place was missing was atmosphere. I went in on a Sunday might at 6:30 and there was one guy at the bar and 1 other couple dining. It just didn't feel like a tavern nor a place that I'd want to have a dessert and coffee at because I wanted an excuse to stick around for longer. Regardless, the food is incredible and I'll definitely be back to sample more of their menu.

This place is a pretty decent local restaurant/bar... I'd give it more stars if it were cleaner or maybe even a little more brighter (since it's so dim inside and I usually like to SEE what I'm eating, just in case) I had the French Dip (without the onions) - it was pretty good except they put a little too much truffle aioli sauce on it... so next time, I'll make sure to get it without because it doesn't need it. I also tried the wings which were good. I do not suggest getting the artichoke dip... it made me gag. The pizza was pretty good. It takes just like Pizza K, and I like Pizza K...but Parma charges more than them. I think next time I try the pizza, I'll get the supreme with more toppings so I can fairly judge.

I came here for a pretty low-key birthday dinner and I can say that it was perfection. We started with an appetizer of macaroni and cheese, which I must say was the perfect combination of crispy topping and cheese-y goodness. My entree was the barbecue chicken pizza, which while good, was probably the same fanfare that you'd elsewhere. Though thanks to the waitress' recommendation, we got a dessert. I forgot the exact name, but it was a mousse-chocolate-cheesecake thing. And let me just say, it was one of the best recommendations I've ever had. It was delicious and completely worth it. Though besides the food, service was wonderful. Waitress was extremely helpful with recommendations and was quick with service. Also, the chef was nice enough to come out and check on how the food and service was. Short to say, this was a restaurant that was on par with something that I'd find in Atlanta and the next time I'm in the area, I'll be back.

I was surprised to find such a modern sophisticated place here. In the land of chain resturant *ell- this is an independant gem! The decor is modern, minimal, dark wood, high bistro seating/booths, low lighting. Nice ambiance- w a mixed crowd. The service is typical, friendly southern style. Our waitress was a young collegiate who was not versed on the wine list but overly zealous to do whatever she could to please- which was sweet. Our app/meal/salads were not timed accordingly- this needs some tweaking. The menu offers a nice selection of classic Italian dishes w a contemporary twist as well as pasta, burgers, gourmet style pizza, salads & small plates. Everything was very fresh, well seasoned w ample portions and very appropriate price/quality. We shared the spinach artichoke "fondu"- not bad- I've had better but it was creamy, cheesey w a good balance of veggies. Served w Tortialla chips- I prefer toasted pita or french bread. For dinner I had the Penne Bosco & the side salad Misto- both were excellent. The pasta was perfectly cooked, tender chicken, tangy sun dried tomatoes, nice balance of cheese & mushrooms w/o too much olive oil. I tried a few of the Cali whites & moved on to a Spanish red- the wine options are fair @ best. Stick w the micro brew/crafted beer options. Live music on weekends. Acoustics could be a bit better, smaller bar, huge parking lot front & back.

ATMOSPHERE: It is a small Italian/American diner. It is very clean and comfortable on the inside. SERVICE: Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the food. She made many recommendations which we followed. The drink and appetizer were immediate, but the entrees took forever to come out. We were only one of two tables in the restaurant. That is the only reason for a less than perfect score. FOOD: My friend and I had a great time here. We ordered the $2 Parma Ale and the Kettle Chips and they were both delicious. The beer is a light ale, but has a good flavor. The kettle chips were covered with a bacon alfredo sauce that was incredible. We decided to go all out and split a small meatataria and split one of the famous Krispy Kreme burgers. The pizza was basically meat lovers pizza with sliced italian sausage on it. It was delicious. The burger came highly recommended by other yelpers and the server. It is two donuts with a medium cooked burger in the middle. The burger is covered with cheese, sauteed onions, and BBQ sauce. Now for the flavor. My friend and I had differing opinions. He really like it, I thought the donuts were too sweet in contrast to the hearty taste of the rest of the entree. It was just okay for me and not something I would order again, but was fun to say I tried it. OVERALL: I would definately come back. I had a great experience with great food.

I went to Parma Tavern with a friend not too long ago and I go to say the environment is very very nice even thou it was full of people.. Now the service was not that great and the food was really my disappointment, I dont know if it was because they were to busy on the kitchen but even the quality seem like i was eating a TV dinner for a fine dinning price.

I was in town for a Bat Mitzvah my ladyfriend's family was throwing. After all that unleavened bread, my body was craving some fat and carbs, so thanks to the reviews here on Yelp, we headed over to Parma Tavern to eat and drink to our heart's content. Based on what I saw here, I knew going in I'd have to have the Krispy Kreme burger, and I steeled myself for what I thought was sure to be an odd and possibly unpleasant experience. O mercy me. O heavenly amazingness in my mouth! I was so wrong to judge before I ate... the burger, with its two donuts, perfectly seasoned and cooked patty, incredible bacon, not-too-cooked onions, and tangy-sweet bbq sauce, was perfection in my mouth. My tastebuds have never been so happy. Oh, insider tip. You know when you have an awesomely juicy burger, and you get a little puddle of the drippings on your plate? The drippings from this burger are mixed up with said bbq sauce as well as frosting from the donuts. Take your (unbelievably good) fries and dip 'em. Trust me. You'll thank me later.

Had lunch here. A-ok place. Nice atmosphere, a little quiet. Ordered MAc n Cheese for the appetizer. Delicious. The cheese was flavorful and unique- not your typical mac n cheese which is good. Nice amount of chicken too. Good for 2 people. Sweet tea was good- was a surprise to me since I'm pretty picky. Lasagna. This was ok- if they used some of the 'mac n cheese' in it, it would have been fantabulous. Maybe not enough ricotta or garlic- something was a little missing. But it was good. My fiance's french dip looked really good and he enjoyed it. The fries are really good- tasted like they were potatoes just a few minutes before- flavorful- I think they used sea salt which is a plus. Everything tasted homemade and to order. Drink specials sound good too if I went back for dinner. Reasonable prices. I would go back.

To be fair, I've only been here twice so far and only have eaten one of those two times. Perhaps after I eat a few more things and have the opportunity to be waited on, I could bump up my rating for the place. The first time I went with a couple of buddies; and we had beers and dinner. I had the Lasagna. It was fine. The portion seemed maybe a little small; but it was tasty enough. It was served in its own little cast iron crock if I remember correctly which gave it a nice presentation. The first visit was around 7:30, so I guess still too early for the rumored crowds I heard about the place getting. There were people there but it certainly wasn't "off the chain." This most recent time my buddy and I went to have a beer or two; and it was later in the evening, around 9:45 or so. The crowd was packing in this night so I could see it getting a little crazy maybe. The place was busy with a decent mix of a crowd, including some older patrons, which I like to see. Nice mix of men and women with the scale tipping, this night at least, maybe a little more towards the women. I can certainly appreciate that. I heard the crowds here could get pretty big. I can say that this may be at least one of the new places to go and hang out since lots of other old standards around Gwinnett Co seemed to have died down or even off in some cases. It's nice to find a new option that's worth re-visiting. I was also happy to see they had Allagash White in the bottle. A good beer always makes my day and improves any experience. While it is located just a few doors down, this place is way better both in food and crowd than Buckhead Pizza had (now closed). I'm sure we will be back. Hopefully, I will get to try more food the next go around. I could see this place getting 4 stars before it's over with. Lots of others on here seem to think so.

Below mediocre when it comes to food and bad service. This is more of a bar rather than a restaurant. It's very loud. We ordered artichoke dip for appetizer and it resembled the typical bar dip. Then we had penne and pizza for dinner. Also below average. Definitely not worth the price. I guess this place is ok if you are looking for causal place to drink with buddies. They had live music as of 10pm (nn Saturday). The ambiance wouldn't please families or couples looking for good food and mellow atmosphere. Our server was very inattentive, constantly chatting with coworkers and others. We waited for 5 min until she came to take our order once she brought drinks. We had to gesture for her to come over, otherwise it might have been longer. The same thing happened with when we finished our meal and wanted to order desert. Then she forgot to bring the dessert menu while talking and laughing with somebody just few feet away from us. We ended up not ordering desert and left. Very disappointing.

Most unique place to eat in Buford or anywhere close to it. If you usually like to go to Atlanta to eat at a good place and have a good experience, save your trip sometime and check this place out. Love the farmhouse tables and pendant lighting. Awesome delicious food! Get the loaded kettle chips to start! Penne De Bosco is my favorite dish and the Krispy Kreme burger is good. Been here three times so far, and I give this place four stars because the last time we had horrible service.

I have never had a bad meal at Parma, and I have been coming here since they first opened. I recommend pretty much everything on the menu. Now I would give it 5 stars, only if they bring back the awesome brunch menu they had previously! They still do some sort of brunch on the weekends, but if you were able to enjoy what they had before, then I'm sure you'd want it back as well! The place is almost like your neighborhood bar, and yes they serve liquor! Thursdays and Saturdays seem to be the hot nights, when the place is overly crowded and open til late. There should be more bar seating, or high tops. The staff is wonderful, and they try to remember your name... Cheers!

I love the food, but what really keeps customers coming back are the cheap beer and lots of gorgeous women. On the Thursday (aka Thirsty Thursdays), they have $1 beers which can really lead to some great times. Later that night, they clear the tables, and bring in the DJ for people to dance. Its the best mini club experience without having to go in the ATL. O Yea ! Did I also mention $1 Dollar Beer!

My boyfriend and I were checking out the menu one afternoon and Kim invited us in (we had already eaten that day) but she urged us to come back, so we had to check it out! We came back on a Sunday afternoon around 4pm. We sat in the dining area and Kim was our server. She recommended the Spinach & Artichoke dip which was so creamy and delicious. Cheese blended together with white wine served with crispy tortilla chips. My boyfriend got the "Krispy Kreme Bacon Cheese Burger" - it is a bacon cheese burger with two Krispy Kreme donuts as the bun! He said he really enjoyed it although the burger was cooked a little well beyond his liking. I had the "Manmosa" cocktail - Blue moon beer, orange juice topped with champagne! Tasty! I also had another IPA I think called two hearts - tasty! I'll definitely be back and sit at their beautiful bar!

Parma hit the right spot today at lunch with a yummy menu and reasonable prices. The atmosphere is okay, but not great. The waitresses were friendly and I enjoyed the 80's tunes (not sure if that's standard or someone just knew that I was in a "99 Luftballoons" mood today). I had a small plate, the mac+cheese, as my meal. It was the perfect lunch proportion and was so gooey and delicious, with chicken and carmalized onions adding a special touch. We had fried eggplant as an appetizer. The chipotle aioli dip really made this dish. I didn't have a drink, but they had a decent beer menu and a small craft beer selection.

They're new to the area, with a new way of getting customers. They offer a certificate where you get one entree free, if you pay for your drinks (even soda). So, I'm game. Wifey and I go for an afternoon lunch date, just outside the Mall of Ga. It's a bar; it's Italianish, but not really. It's on a strip mall, next to my fav. burger (5 Guys) and froyo (Tutti Frutti). The waiter comes and suggests to try the eggplant crisps (DELICIOUS!). We order the special lunch of the day ($5-spaghettini pomodoro) and the beef/sausage lasagna. The lasagna is quite good, but the portion is smaller than your regular Italian restaurant would give you. The pomodoro is somewhat bland, but nothing that a lil salt and peppa couldn't fix. The prices are normal range for Italian Restaurant...but it's really a bar. One thing that sounded cool was their 30cent wing & $10/Yuengling pitcher promotion for the Saturday NCAA games. Might be tempted to go one day. I think most people will like the food and atmosphere, and likely come back (like myself), but it gets 3 stars because it lacks a clear identity. It's Italianish...but it's not...it's a bar. It's a sports bar, but not really, b/c you don't have the Taco Mac-style multitude of big screens. I didn't count, but if you wanted to watch 3 football games simultaneously... your best bet is to sit at the bar. Oh, and the prices for beer are lil bit higher than the average bar...unless you love NCAA Football. Overall, it's good. I'll choose Seaya's (sushi sports bar) or Arena Tavern over Parma, but they got my favorite beer on special...but on Sat only.

Krispy Kreme donut bun for a burger?? It may seem disgusting but the sweetness of the bun and the savory flavor of the burger go perfect together. It was incredible!!!

After reading the reviews, we decided to give Parma another shot. We had visited shortly after they opened a few years ago, but had not been back. No reason other than we sort of forgot about it. We walked in right behind a table of five. We could have been seated immediately at one of the high top tables, but being a short person, I really can't stand that type of table so we opted to wait for a booth. Walked up to the bar and were greeted immediately. Hubby ordered a beer and I got the Dougie Fresh. It was a refreshing drink although I couldn't really taste the vodka in it. I like my drinks strong. It makes me think about the fact that I am drinking and I feel like I tend not to over drink...my logic. We did not have to wait long for the booth which was nice. We had a little trouble reading the menu...old eyes and dark room, but I had already gotten an idea of what I wanted from their website. We sat there quite a while waiting for a server to acknowledge us. Okay, I had heard the waitstaff was flaky, so I wasn't surprised but hubby was getting antsy. He was able to catch the attention of the hostess who then located our server. From then on the service was pretty good. Hubby got the chicken parmesan and I ordered the chopped mozzamato salad. We also ordered the spinach artichoke fondue. It was good, but like an earlier reviewer, I would prefer with baguette or pita instead of tortilla chips. Hubby was very pleased with the Parmesan chick and my salad was sooooo delicious. All of the different textures and flavors in it were just what I wanted. We were close enough to the kitchen and the service window that we could see the quality control guy doing his job. that was comforting. it was further comforting that I witnessed him reject something. Its nice to see someone dedicated to the task of making sure the food is up to par. We had another drink from the bar...hubby with his beer, but this time I ordered a Crown and ginger. Lawsy, that girl made it just like I do at home...pour the Crown over ice and wave some ginger ale near it! Very yummy. Dinner was finished and hubby decided we needed to see the dessert menu. We decided on the caramel cake to go. When the server brought it to us, she put it in the bag with the leftovers we were taking. Right before we left the table we looked at it and were amazed at its tiny-ness. Seriously, you know when you have the obligatory birthday cake at the office and ask for only a sliver since you just ate way more than you would normally for lunch and you just can't cram anything else in your mouth? It was about that size. $6. I mean its not even enough to share. Won't go that route again. All in all, driving past a sea of boring chain restaurants, finding Parma close enough to home to feel like its your neighborhood place, makes me think this will be our new go-to for a nice dinner when we just can't eat another burrito, sub sandwich, or hot wing. Give them a try. The prices aren't crazy and the taste is definitely good.

Parma is a nice neighborhood tavern across the street from The Mall of GA. There are a lot of beers available and most of them are from the independent microbreweries. The most famous item is the Krispy Kreme burger. Yes it's a burger with Krispy Kreme doughnuts as the bun. I thought it would be disgusting but the flavors actually went well together. The service is very friendly and every time we've been in we have had excellent service. Go try the Krispy Kreme burger once just to say you did it.

I had a livingSocial deal for Parma Tavern so my family and I gave it a try. My son, wife, and I shared a krispy Kreme burger (ouch on the calories). however, the burger was delicious (don't eat too often if you value managing your weight). The chicken pesto sandwich was good. overall good restaurant worth the value. Bonus they have free wi-fi.

We were sitting in my boyfriend's family home when suddenly Atlanta Eats comes on and gives a good review to a restaurant in the next suburb over. Swayed by the adorable 12 year old talking about how she loves the goat cheese pizza we thought why not? Well, being the foodies we are, we made a reservation that night. Now, I am from California and an unused to this restaurant in a strip mall thing unless it is a weird underground sushi restaurant in Studio City. I thought immediately, okay, this place is going to be terrible. I was wrong. It was actually pretty good. Will I be salivating over it in San Francisco counting the days until the next visit to my boyfriend's parent's house? No. Will I say lets go after we come into town and need a good meal that doesn't empty your pocket? Yes. Extra points to this place for serving Allegash White. One of my favorite beers. We started with the truffle Parmesan fries, the Italian tacos and the eggplant "chips" with a spicy remoulade were all tasty, even the Italian tacos which were basically chicken parmigiana in a flour tortilla. I had the lobster ravioli, which were good but very, very rich. The best thing on the tale though was a dinner companion's salad. This thing was amazing. Overall, good place, good food, maybe turn down the music a little.

I decided to try Parma after getting a free entree coupon and so happy I did. I think this place is a nice twist to the usual places around the mall. Great customer service. If you get a chance check this place out.

This is the first time I have felt the urge to write a review on a restaurant but after tonights experience...I definately have the urge. The service was not only below par but the food was delivered to our table cold. Even after the food was re-heated in the microwave the taste of twice re-heated food isn't very appealling especially for the price we paid. If you feel the urge to eat there the pizza looked pretty good but I would advise Buckhead Pizza a few doors down.

The spinach and artichoke with gruyere cheese fondue was fabulous and the lobster ravioli had chunk lobster tail in it. Great service and the food was stupendous. I'll definitely go back!

We went for dinner. I had the chicken parmesan and it was nice and cheesy like I like it. I also had a couple of cocktails that were poured well. The eggplant appetizer was good. They had live music the night we went and they are open late. Overall a good experience.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations.
