I am new to Ga and have been looking for fresh seafood, that's not fast food or greasy, and this place just hit the spot! I ordered the appetizer combo as my meal which included fried shrimp, oysters, homemade potato chips, fried shrimp and hush puppies... everything was fresh and seasoned well and the service was good! This restaurant was very clean! I will definitely go back and try some of the other entrees on the menu.

A little on the expensive side, yet good food. Amazing seafood dip! If only this place were on the lake.....

Came in for a late dinner on a Saturday night. They have done a really great job with this place! The building was a vacant for a while before they came in, and you can tell that they did a great job cleaning and painting the place. It looks totally new and restored. We had an appetizer that I think is called coastal shrimp. it's like a bang-bang shrimp. Very good. Also, the special was snapper that was great, and my wife ordered the crab cake sandwich. Everything was good. Great place to eat!

Very similar to Third Coast Grill who previously occupied this space. Some of the items are a bit pricey for what you get but the food and service were good. The dining room was full of large groups but the service was on point and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves.

I would rank them a few notches below Red Lobster. I don't like Red Lobster. The mussels went uneaten, and the flounder had to be eaten with a knife, however the fish tacos weren't terrible. The highlight was the kids meals.

Ok- back again and lovin it!!! back to the great service in the bar with Ashley!!! crab cake sandwich is the bomb and a great deal!!! shrimp pO boy for mom- really tasty and a Stella! Or 2... Or 3!!!! love it here!!! Thank Ashley for remembering me too!! Happy camper!!!! Well, maybe it's holidays but food was good today but servers were - not motivated, fish was not cooked enough and we were not able to sit in a booth in a bar away from kids. Was also surprised to see a new manager so waited at least 4 minutes before anyone even came up front to seat us. So I won't cut my 5 stars as I met the owners and this is our one time for not so great service and obnoxious kids making a huge mess and the waitress took a long time to get to the cleaning up part- lazy! Will be back, still great crab sandwich and lobster bisque. Another not so good visit and 3 stars it will be. Hope they bring their A game!!!

Excellent prices and food! The lunch menu is all only $7.99! Popcorn shrimp is really jumbo shrimp. The customer service was nice also. The server attended all of our needs. I recommend the lobster bisque and shrimp dishes! Hope they are here to stay!

Solid meal. Unfortunately only one of group of 4 actually ordered seafood. My wife ordered shrimp scampi and said that it was very tasty. The rest of us had wings (good), kids Mac and cheese and fries (real good) and a burger (very good). The place was kinda dead for 12 on a weekday which seemed strange. But the service was good. I would go back when I am in the mood for seafood. I would probably give it a 3.75 if I could.

The food is okay. The service, eh. The employees seem to be in a hurry and since we live down the road we frequently get to-go orders, which often seem to be just thrown together. Tonight we ordered a fish and chips which we found had no tartar sauce when we opened the box, and a Coastal Burger which was very over-seasoned. The bun was also about half the size of the meat patty and very soggy. The hush puppies on the side were cold. There was really no reason for any of this as we had the food ordered and picked up within 15 minutes. Sometimes the food is really good, sometimes not so great.

Although not on the coast, Coastal Breeze has great seafood. The crab stuffed flounder is outstanding. Love the crusted sole too. The wait staff is professional and attentive. I'm a regular!

Great place to eat, great sea food dip . Loved it. The service was a little bit slow, but in overall it was good experience. I don't like fish a lot, i tried mahi mahi sandwich and i was sooo happy with that. It didn't have bad smell of fish....

My husband and I had our rehearsal dinner here and we had no idea we were the first ones until afterward! They were the absolute best. Everyone kept saying how much fun they had and how delicious the food was. Truly I think the rehearsal dinner food may have beaten out the reception! The owner was so kind and the service was killer! Cannot say enough about them. Price was amazingly reasonable too. Will recommend to all of my friends!

Have been back since I officially moved here and wow still great and still customer service oriented. Great upscale done right version of red lobster basically how red lobster wishes it was ..... But it's own style of food and treats once again I'll be back !!!

Quite and nice restaurant with good food! If you're GPSing the address to the restaurant try Friendship rd.. instead of Lanier Island Pkwy., it's been renamed within a year.

Loved Coastal Breeze! On the recommendation of the Hotel clerk at Hilton we stopped in for dinner. We were courteously greeted by the young hostess. Patrick was our Waiter. He was awesome and on point with going over the menu and taking our order. Our food came out fast and hot from appetizers to main course. Tilapia with Mango Salsa was really good. Veggies were cooked just right. The Fish Bake was really delicious too. Fried calamari was sort of like a tempura with green beans. Beer was nice and cold. They didn't hit us over the head with the bill. Not pricey at all. Highly recommend Coastal Breeze. Will definitely drop by next time we are driving South from New York.

We were a party of 9 (5 adults), and only 1 of us enjoyed their food. Food was not fresh. Tasted like it came out of the freezer. Will not be going back.

Solid place with very good fried seafood. We tried there fried seafood and their other entres. The fried seafood was very good and not oily. their ettoufe was average.

Went to the Coastal Breeze with the Gwinnett Foodies, 12 of us and we all enjoyed our food. The servers were very knowledgeable of the menu and very attentive. The food all looked good and tasted even better. We are going to schedule another meetup at the Coastal Breeze.

I am so glad this place has reopened. It was Third Coast, but that failed - probably due to high rent, not anything to do with the food. It was most disappointing when it closed. I have tried the Fish Tacos made with Tilapia, Crab Cake sandwich, Salmon BLT and fish sandwich made with Mahi-Mahi (Dolphin) and loved every one. I will try the Po Boys next time. The home made potato chips are great as a side. The Gulf Shrimp app with a rich creamy suace are to die for. The fresh grilled fish is always great with several sauces to choose from. The building itself is bright and beautiful with a huge bar. The staff is yound and energetic. What a great repeat performance for a local seafood place!

Just came back from an after-church luncheon with my darling sister earlier today and decided to eat at Coastal Breeze Seafood Grill because of the all positive reviews. I love seeing places around here get more recognition on Yelp. :) While my sister and I perused the menu, our waiter brought out our glasses of water and a basket of five mini rolls with sweet butter. I don't know what it was, but the bread and butter was goood! Too bad it wasn't endless bread because we devoured them in a blink of an eye. We ended up sharing the coastal seafood dip appetizer and the crab cake sandwich with homemade chips. The seafood dip was served in a ceramic ramekin along with six small pieces of toasted baguette. The texture of the baguette seemed day-old, but it held the dip well. The dip itself was a bit salty and heavy, probably due to all the cheese on top. There were only tiny "seafood" bits in the dip, so my advice would be to use less cheese, more shrimp and scallops, and if they'd throw in some crackers on the side, I'd be a happy camper! The crab cake sandwich seemed sloppily put together and the crab cake itself wasn't firm and broke apart easily. However, it tasted GREAT! The home made chips were addicting and probably among the best I've ever had. My sister especially liked the seasoning they used on top. While we were eating, the owner (I think) came up to us and started some small talk, which is refreshing. That doesn't happen too much nowadays. On another note, the place itself was dirty with crumbs on the table and booth cushions. And all the menus (main, drinks, specials) were sticky. There were a lot of service staff and hardly any customers, so I wish they would pay more attention to detail and the overall cleanliness of the restaurant. All in all, I would've given two or three stars, but the food was BOMB! If they were to take note / improve on the items I suggested, I wish more people came out to eat here. Oh, and thank goodness I did not take my car because it never would've made it through the construction going on right in front of it. If you have a lowered / slammed car (as I've begun to see more and more of around this area).. be careful!!!

Food was good. Nice selection. Husband had fish tacos with not much fish. Shrimp and scallops skewer was very good. Server could use more training. Never refilled waters. Never checked on our meal. He only had 2 tables.

I've been looking for a good seafood alternative to Red Lobster and found the reviews of CB. I drove almost 30 miles hoping it'd be worth it, since I had business near to the locale anyway. I arrived at 2:30pm on a weekday, so I expected only a short wait. There was no wait as few customers were in the restaurant. The hostess was very friendly, and showed me to a table. The waitress arrived quickly, and was also very friendly. Having studied the menu online, I already knew what I wanted, and ordered the lobster bisque, and the Sea Bake pasta lunch special. The lobster bisque was not worth it. True, it's been awhile since I've had it, so correct me if I'm wrong, but should there not be lobster in the lobster bisque? There wasn't a single chunk of lobster in the bisque, and it tasted a bit fishier than it should. I knew I should've ordered the crab cake. The pasta was totally worth it however, and certainly made better by the lunch special price. It had plenty of shrimp and scallops, and it was cheesy, creamy, and flavorful. I definitely enjoyed that. If I lived closer, I would certainly return, but as it is, it's not worth driving that far away from my house when I can find closer seafood places. If I'm in the area, I'll check out some of their other offerings.

We visited Coastal Breeze for the third time last night. The last two times were good. Last night I ordered the seafood pasta, which included shrimp, scallops and mussels. There were six mussels on my plate, one of which was spoiled. Unfortunately, I swallowed said mussel as I realized it was spoiled. It's always disappointing to be given spoiled food, but it was the manager's response (or lack of response) that leads me to write this review. Our server came back and said the manager would comp me a dessert. Knowing I'd spend the night sick, dessert was absolutely the last thing I wanted. He didn't even come by to express concern about serving spoiled food. At most restaurants the manager will come by if your steak is overcooked! I am disappointed that a seafood restaurant didn't notice the mussel was dead before serving it to me. I'm even more disappointed with how the manager handled the situation.

On, the parkway into Lake Lanier Islands Resort, Coastal Breeze Seafood Grill is one of the overall best experiences of food, fun, and fellowship I have ever had. On a warm, beautiful June evening I reserved the patio for an adult birthday party for my husband. Erik Nilsen and his staff set us up for a great private party. The tropical atmosphere and decor was perfect for a summer night. They accommodated our every need and helped us make it a special and memorable evening. The food was excellent, and all guests were served at the same time with hot and fresh meals. This howled a great deal of planning and preparation on the part of the kitchen staff to make sure our large party was served simultaneously. After having some difficulty with other restaurants in trying to reserve such an event on a summer Saturday night, I was happy just to find a place that could take us. But, I was very happily surprised that they met our every desire.

We had our rehearsal dinner at Coastal Breeze since we were getting married at Lake Lanier. We had about 30 people and had worked out a pared down menu since we had a larger group. The food was fantastic, service was great, and affordable (especially if you look at pricing we would have paid at Lake Lanier). I definitely recommend Coastal Breeze. :)

We loved the old restaurant at this location, so were excited to see someone took over this great space. A little nervous with the first reviews, but decided to try. We will absolutely be back again. My younger son had the crabcake sandwich with a side of hush puppies. Pretty big portion and a very good crab cake - very little filler, good spicy roumelade sause. He also had the clam chower which looked a little thick for my taste but he liked it. My older son had the sea bake (shrimp and scallops with penne in a cream sauce). I think there was crab on top too. He really liked it. It was not overly rich. Seafood seemed fresh and well cooked. I had the parmesan crusted trout with side of green beans. Got nervous after I ordered the green beans but they were nicely cooked - not overcooked at all, crisp, bright green. My husband had a caesar salad, and the shrimp appetizer. Caesar dressing was good - a little heavy on the dressing for him but I liked it. Shrimp app is like bang bang shrimp at Bonefish - crispy, spicy, yummy, It was all very good, reasonable priced, good portion sizes and arrived quickly and hot. Server was very friendly. Decent list of beer on tap and in bottle. Great place for a meal after the lake, after church, or whenever. Enjoy!

I will give 2 stars just because our waitress was so sweet. The service is great! The food however- is terrible. My husband and I both Only took a few bites of our meals- I'm kind of surprised that the waitress didn't notice that and offer us our money back or free dessert. I got lobster bisque which was pretty terrible. Tasted like canned bisque. Only a rare piece of lobster and it was smaller than a crumb and soooooo dry. Gross. I also got a crab cake sandwich which had an absurd amount of shell in it. I'm surprised I didn't break my teeth on it! I was so bad I had to spit it in a napkin. My husband got a grouper sandwich and he said it was terrible. The bread disintegrated because it's not the appropriate bread for that type of sandwich. The fish had zero seasoning and was overlooked. I'm not sure why so many people have given this restaurant such high reviews. We eat a lot of seafood in both divey/beachy and nicer restaurants so I do feel like I'm more picky. Obviously, I'd never return.

Showed up around 8PM on a Friday night with out of town guests. We had never been here and were craving seafood. The good: The food was pretty good. Not earth shattering, but ok. I don't feel ill yet and I haven't barfed in the parking lot so those are plusses. The bad: The service was horrible...I began to wonder if our waitress quit after taking our appetizer order. I can only assume there is some tear in the fabric of space-time behind the wall to the kitchen because drinks went without refills, the sands of time slipped by and I felt myself aging slowly... The decor and atmosphere made me think an episode of Trading Spaces happened between the owners of a Zaxby's and Bahama Breeze. So... The food was pretty decent but I wouldn't recommend sitting in this waiting room.

Saturday 1 or 2 in the afternoon we decided to check this place out. We walked in and awkwardly waited for a couple of minutes until someone came up to greet us. We requested a table outside (if they were seating outside) because it was a beautiful day and even better to eat seafood outside pretending I'm in the Keys... The Hostess set up a table outside, but literally put the table touching the railing, so that all 6 of us could sort of sit side by side and look out to the street and not each other... LOL.... Felt like "time out" so we fixed the able ourselves.. We were the only ones outside and the area she sat us in had food on the floor and even a huge shard of broken glass.... The waitress then came out and apologized that the Hostess was new, which I guess would make sense .. poor thing! She recommended Jalapeno stuffed shrimp with cheese as an appetizer and we also ordered coconut shrimp. The stuffed shrimp was actually pretty tasty, we were glad she told us about it as it was not on the menu. The coconut shrimp, I would not order again. They weren't bad, but they weren't great. We enjoyed ice cold beers as we waited for our food. I didn't really want to order a meal for myself as I wasn't that hungry so I just kinda ate from everyone else's plates ;-) My little sister ordered Fish & Chips and it was ok, the fries here are great. My mom ordered a Mahi sandwich and that was pretty good; just the right size. My dad ordered Lobster Bisque and that was good too! The prices here are very fair for the food they serve, in my opinion. Our waitress was fantastic, she was quick and very friendly. I would recommend and will definitely be back

Service isn't that great! Food is okay...went there a cpl of weeks ago and we had to ask for refills and she took our cups off the table instead of brining us new ones so we sat there with our food and no drinks...and then she refilled them with diet coke and we were drinking tea...she only had one other one top she was waiting on...May need to hire new servers.

Super impressed! We love good seafood in our family and eat it often both at home and on vacation. We have been searching for a place near our new home that reminded us of our favorite places on vacation. Coastal Breeze is this place! While it is definitely not fine dining, it is a fun, casual seafood dining experience. Between four adults and two toddlers, no one left hungry, unhappy or broke. We had seafood bisque, seafood dip and pita, fish, shrimp, and much more that was all hot, delicious and served with hospitality. We are going to make this a regular part of our routine!

  • Amanda K.

Our friends have raved about this place for a while. We haven't made it out all together to this location so passing by my husband and I decided to drop in. Our waitress was very young and did not do a very good job with remembering to fill out water glasses, I had to keep asking. The lobster bisque tasted like tomato soup, I was so very disappointed. My husband had one of the sandwiches and enjoyed it. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing!

    (2)
  • Natalie H.

Take my advice: go to Fontaine's. Yes, you will pay a little more, but the quality and quantity of the food is so much better. This place is a joke! I had the lobster bisque, which I found to be watery and lacking in crab. The peel 'n eat shrimp that my husband ordered were ok. Not worth what they charge you. I also had half a dozen fried oysters. This is when I swore I would never come back to this place. They were the most pitiful size oysters I have ever seen in my life, and believe me, I've seen many an oyster in my time. Seriously, the hush puppies were larger than my oysters! The best comment pertaining to the food came from my husband when he was describing his fried cod, "this is like the kind you get at Captain D's." Yep, it was that bad. I always try to find a positive in any bad situation. So, I'll end my review by saying that the sweet tea was good and the bathrooms were clean.

Yelp really needs half ratings. This would be a 3.5er. Beer list is solid...with Sweetwater 420 on tap. Appetizers were great (the seafood dip). Grilled grouper was above average for my entrée. Both my dinner guests liked their dinner

  • Yulonda B.

We had a wonderful dinner. Everything we ordered was delicious and the cocktails were great. The food portions were plentiful. We started with the crab cake appetizer, spicy Bloody Mary and Tropicolada Frozen Cocktail (similar to a Piña Colada but better). Our entrees were the Seafood bake and Shrimp scampi. The customer service was good. No complaints. We will definitely visit again when in the area.

Wow, such a disappointment. This was out first visit...and our last. We walked in and were greeted by the manager. We told him it was our first time. He told the hostess and servers to treat us well since it was our first time. I asked what about the second, but I know the answer. Long story short, went thirsty, no extra plates that we asked for, went thirsty, cheese dip tasted like Parmesan cheese with melted cheddar on top, DO NOT GET THE GROUPER SANDWICH! It was literally three slivers of something similar to grouper. I'd guess an ounce each, waited for check way too long, as well as server to cash us out. By wait, I mean for way too long! It's a never again for us.

  • Heather V.

For this area, I'm giving 3 stars. The seafood was great!!! The Mahi Mahi was cooked perfectly and the flounder was absolutely yummy! Our friends got the fish tacos and the crab legs. Both said they were very good. The prices were really good. Great value! Why only 3 stars? The service was lacking (waitress was nice, but every other word was "I can go ask"), and the side dishes were not very good. The hushpuppies we ordered were frozen in the middle and the rice pilaf tasted like Uncle Bens. If you are up at Lake Lanier, I would suggest going here. There aren't too many good choices that aren't overpriced. It is a resort after all.

    (3)
  • Becky L.

It was okay. I ordered the stuffed shrimp. Which consisted of plain shrimp with a dollop of crap stuffing on the side so not really "stuffed". It tasted fine but not memorable. I am not sure if I could not make it better myself.

We've been coming to Coastal Breeze since it opened. Rock is among the best chefs in North Georgia, and he visits our table most every time we come. Having been the lead chef at Bonefish Grill you knew he could deliver, but his creations thrill the palate! The presentation is not ornate, but everything on the menu is fresh, excellently prepared and the sauces are inspiring. The coconut shrimp, peel and eat low country boil style shrimp are among my favorites. The salmon is delectable, the asparagus garden fresh and the hush puppies almost taste like a doughnut (sweet not bitter). My wife loves the sea bake is loaded down with cheese and full of scallops and shrimp. Get away from it all, enjoy the island reggae music and then head up the parkway to Lake Lanier Islands!

Horrible customer service horrible food . End up @ location while @ the resort. Ordered off the menu never got appetizer funny even though the food came. Messed up initial order. Server never came back to give us refills . Messed up my girls order as well . Not friendly @ all . Do your self a favor and keep driving pass . So much bad That me in my family experienced on our visit while on vacation. Management was sitting down @ table across from us with his family or something. Not 1 time did he come & ask us was everything ok . Kept running to the back . Not a good place to take family , long wait times on food when the place barely had customers. Even with the wait orders came out wrong. In to think yelp is the reason we ended up @ the restaurant lol the irony.

Wanted to try this place for a while. Huge let down!!! Blah food and we had to ask for everything from Appetizer plates to refills on tea. My guy ordered a fish sandwich and fries, it came with no condiments just a plain sandwich. When we asked for condiments it took forever. Oh and did I mention we were the only people in the restaurant side. Waist of time and money! So disappointed!

I happened to be in the area on Saturday night attending a friend's graduation a few doors down. I was famished after the ceremony and decided to give this place a try. I love seafood and have been to many seafood restaurants that are very well known across the country. Coastal Breeze rates five stars across the board! From my greeting at the door all the way to the excellent food ordered with great service in between by Lindsay! A member of my party has to eat gluten free and they were definitely on the ball with that by confirming whether something had it or not. What else can I say?

This place closed down in 2009 and then sat empty for 3 years or so. It has just re-opened in time for the summer Lake Lanier traffic. Food is ok, but service is hit or miss. I'm sure it will get better as it JUST re-opened a week or two ago. I had the Parmesan encrusted trout which tasted a bit fishy (may be frozen and not fresh?) but it was ok. Very casual atmosphere, other diners seemed happy with their food.

    (3)
  • Sarah S.

The seafood here is very good. Probably the best local place you can get it. But for the atmosphere we found the prices to be a bit high. I suppose it's ok because the food is very high quality but it's really a place you want to make plans for because it will hit you in the pocketbook if you're not careful.

  • Melissa Z.

3.5 stars. This is a wonderful and affordable seafood restaurant just down the road from Lake Lanier Islands. This would be fantastic choice for after a day at the water park. This place has a fantastic nautical theme! There's even a gorgeous painting of Lake Lanier at sunset. When you're inside listening to the happy carribbean music, look up and you'll feel like you're under a modernized tiki roof. The food is good, not out of this world fine dining, but for a casual restaurant, for the prce, it is a satisfying meal. My biggest issue with the food is quantity. I ordered the calamari for an appetizer and though it was very lightly breaded (good!) there was maybe twelve pices of squid on the plate and some fried pepper strips. I was hoping for a nice pile - but maybe that's just a greedy hungry American talking. Service was prompt and very friendly.

My husband and I really enjoy this restaurant. Erin has been our server several times, and she's great (very laid back but attentive). I would give the food 3/5 stars, but it's a great atmosphere with kind people. We'll be regulars

Ate at the bar, Stacy was tending. Friendly and attentive. Ordered salmon blackened with citrus sauce per Stacy's recommendation, sides of beans and broccoli. Everything was cooked to perfection. Looking forward to going back and trying other dishes.

  • Jason D.

Everything was great, from the service from our server "Sheila" to the food. Raw oysters were great and tasted fresh. Crab cake was really good with lots of crab meat, and shrimp was not laden down with tons of obnoxious coating. And the sweet potato fries were addictive. Wish this place was closer, we'd be here all the time.

This is one of the places we turn to in the buford for good seafood. It also helps that it is always quick and easy to get in and out with having a child. They always have different specials going that help keep the variety nice. Definitely a good place to stop for seafood on the way to the lake.

Love Costal Breeze - the food is fantastic and for a reasonable price. Try the Costal Shrimp - Chef Rock recommended and we love it! Key Lime Pie is to die for! And this is one the few fine dining establishments that has reasonably priced wine. The service if wonderful, the staff is friendly, the music is relaxing, and the restaurant is very clean - in fact, even the restrooms are clean and fresh - the true indicator of a restaurant's cleanliness! There is plenty of parking, beautiful landscaping, and the outdoor patio provides a wonderful dining experience with a caribbean feel. Definitely give this one a try! Ken and Becky Middleton 6/12/12 update: We've loved dining at Costal Breeze as the food is good, but wine by the glass prices were much more reasonable than some of our other favorite dining establishments. Dined there tonight and when the server brought us the bill we found the wine was $11 a glass! This is over twice what it was last week when we dined there - and since they do not post a wine menu - makes it impossible to know that they would double the price. So, unfortunately even though Rock is a fabulous chef - this one is off our list. Mr. Manager - let me tell you that doubling the price of a glass of wine without warning to your regulars is a very bad way of doing business. You just lost an at least twice a week customer. :- (
