Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Excellent taqueria. This place does not belong in Buford. It belongs in downtown or Midtown. This is not cheap Mexican. It is quality. If you want to be boring get the fajitas. They are as fresh as fajitas can be. If you want to be a little more daring and get a truly great meal, stick to the tacos. The calamari taco is out of this world good. Margaritas are handmade. No sweet-and-sour mix. This place is for foodies, not overweight rednecks looking to fill up on refried beans.

I stopped in here because I wanted a quiet spot to sit and take some time to myself after a happily hectic weekend. I brought my book and had a party-of-one date before heading home where my office awaited my return, filled with reports and projects I need to complete. I first noticed the newness of everything (upon inquiry I discovered the Cantina has been open about a year), then the friendliness of the staff. I ordered my standard test if every Mexican restaurant--the Carnitas plate. While I prefer my car it as slightly more tender and a little more seasoned, I appreciate the authenticity if the recipe. It wasn't drowned in sauce (no Carnitas should ever be served with sauce!), it wasn't overly salted, and I wasn't served a plate full of fat and gristle. And no sour cream disgraced my platter. What I was served is a plate of lightly seasoned, tender pork with a side of Mexican rice and a small bowl of pinto beans, a small salad of lettuce and tomato, fresh onion slices, and a bit of guacamole, and foil wrapped tortillas. I believe it was the owner who came out to help me, and one of the staff (Jaime) also checked on me several times throughout my meal. I would recommend stopping in here for a meal, or tapas and a drink at the bar! The location may feel odd, since it's right next to a gas station, but you'll forget all about that as soon as you walk inside. This isn't the typical gas station ghetto eatery. Its a full-on restaurant with extremely reasonable prices and a friendly, relaxing atmosphere. Oh, and the sweet tea? Definitely delicious.

Over priced small portion Mexican food..... Save your money and go to an authentic spot like the place next to Exxon on South Lee!

This is great Mexican food in a very unassuming location attached to a gas station. Have passed by here many times and after seeing all the cars, we decided to give it a try. First off, the wait staff is extremely friendly and helpful. They really made us feel welcomed. Margaritas were very good and rather large. Wife went with the traditional lime and I opted for the mango. Both served in small canning jars. Pork Carnista was perfectly cooked and properly portioned. Meaning it wasn't so huge I couldn't finish it. Beans and rice served with it were good. Wife went with a spinach enchilada from the vegetarian menu and said it was excellent. Restaurant is very veggy friendly. Sister went with a pork quesadilla and proclaimed it excellent as well. Definitely one of those nice "hole in the wall" finds that will become our regular spot for good quality mexican food. Just don't let the unassuming exterior fool you, step inside for some good service and even better food.

Good stuff, not many cars ever when I've been but the food is consistently good and prices are reasonable.

Legit Mexican food. Tastes fantastic and the atmosphere is amazing. Probably the best Mexican food in town. Definitely give this place a try!

Ugh. No idea why other reviews are so high. This wasn't even good Ameri-Mex. I ordered enchiladas ensenadas, billed as filled with shrimp & crab, with a creamy sauce & poblano rice. The rice was plain w/ some cilantro on top. The plate was blazing hot, yet the enchiladas were cold. Not even tepid, cold. The "crab" was imitation, which is ok IF THEY TELL YOU THAT ON THE MENU. My hubs got quesadilla Laredo, which were also underwhelming, and also just warm at best. The margaritas are weak & poured from a bottle, not made. Service was friendly, though!
