Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Yes, this little restaurant is in BFE, Georgia, but for where it is, La Hacienda Mexican Restaurant is pretty good. If nothing else, they give you some great quantities of Mexican food for your buck. Here's how I ended up there. My boyfriend's dad was moving from Gainesville over to Braselton so after driving up to see their new house, we decided to grab some lunch together. One of the closest places around with good reviews on Yelp, happened to be La Hacienda, so we decided to give it a go. When we got there, it was past the lunch hour so there were plenty of places to sit and once we sat down at a booth, a basket of chips and salsa was whisked out to us. La Hacienda has really put some effort into making itself look authentically Mexican inside: lots of Spanish tile, stucco-looking walls and arched door ways, old-style Spanish lamps, etc. On a side note, everyone working there looked to be of Hispanic descent too, which was a nice, albeit unintentional touch of authenticity too. We were all pretty hungry so we ordered an appetizer of queso with chorizo along with a platter of fajitas, the Cinco fajitas platter (?), which was supposed to come with steak, chicken, shrimp, Spanish sausage, shredded pork and lots of veggies. The chorizo queso was a little disappointing - the cheese was so melty and runny it kept dribbling all over us as soon as we'd lift a chip out. It wasn't sticky enough. And the fajitas platter was by far the largest skillet of sizzling food I've ever seen. No joke - this platter was frickin' ginormous. Coupled with big servings of refried beans, yellow rice, flour tortillas and guac and sour cream as well - this was one giant meal. Each of us ate two full fajitas plus extra forkfuls of meat and veggies from the platter and it still looked like we barely made a dent in the thing. Also, I believe it was supposed to come with sausage, but none of us saw any in the food. Too bad. It all tasted pretty good though. While I wasn't blown away by the quality of La Hacienda, it still did a decent job and if you want a large portion of food, this is definitely a good bet. And really, how much more can you ask that far out in the booneys?

Best retried beans I've very had. I know, people don't usually write a review and mention the side item first, but these beans were great. I don't know what they do to them that no one else does, but these are head and shoulders above everywhere else. Other than that, the food was pretty average. My wife and I had steak tacos which were okay but the steak could've been seasoned more as it was pretty bland. Our daughter had tilapia and said it was very good. Atmosphere was very nice and restrooms were clean.

My husband and I visit 2 or 3 times a month. We've always had great service and the food is wonderful. My husband always ordered the Texas Fajitas. One time he said there wasn't enough shrimp (he counts them)! On our way out, we mentioned it. The next time we visited, he was served fajitas with more than enough shrimp. We let the management know we were more than pleased! Eddy is our favorite server, always quick and friendly.

My Go-to Mexican spot. Cold beer specials, friendly and fast staff, and good food. Try the chorizo!

Great atmosphere, food is good and a large variety. They have a salsa that is superior to most places in this area.

Gave this place two tries and was not at all impressed. First time the food and drink was bland and our waitress was friendly but she didn't speak English and had to repeatedly ask someone else to answer our questions. I also seriously suspect that they forgot to add the alcohol to my margarita. The second time, our server brought water and didn't come back for over 20 minutes so we ended up walking out. The appearance inside is dated and dingy and most of the booths have ripped upholstery. The area does not have many restaurants but does have a lot of competition for Mexican food - you would be better off going just about anywhere else.

4-star review? Really? Come on. Haven't we ever eaten at a Frontera or something that really is better? I have to say, this place is not horrible. It's just in the details, as it so often times is. The food we had was generally pretty good. I had the Supreme or Super Combo, whatever it is. You get a nice sampling of some of their goodies. It's tasty but the problem is, there is this underlying greasy or oiliness that is in everything, even the rice. You can taste it and feel it while you eat. Otherwise, the food is OK. The service is attentive though when asked our waiter could not really seem to recommend anything to us. His initial response was "everything" but it went down hill as he couldn't come up with much of anything he'd want me to try. If I were in the area again, I'd eat here but I'd have to be pretty impressed to give this particular restaurant 4 stars. I think they could get there with some details addressed but they simply are not there yet.

Wow all these 3 & 4 star reviews, I wish I would have gotten to eat at a place that could generate that kind of heat. Instead I got at best a mediocre meal that left me wishing I never wasted my money. So if you are heading back towards Atlanta save your money & find a better place closer to the city.

I am a lover of Mexican food and this particular location of La Ha as I have known it is the better of the two food and taste wise. -1 because the service lacked. I have been in 3 maybe 4 times now and it seems like my glass is always empty I'm out of chips are waiting impatiently for my check. -1 the last two visits have been lunch visits and both times there were multiple kids there. Just felt like someone working there was running a day care business while also being a server. They were playing and quite loud. I don't enjoy kids playing on my lunch break.

Shut the front door!!!! Great food at a fair price. My family and I just moved to Braselton , Ga and was looking for a good Mexican food restaurant . Sometimes tough to find in a new area without trail and error. We found LaHacienda on yelp , tried it and enjoyed it. Though the lighting was a bit low the food and service was on point. The food arrived fresh and hot. You can tell the salsa has been perfected by experience and a lot of time in the kitchen. We will be going back to try the margaritas !

We stopped by here because traffic on I-85 was stop-and-go and we needed to eat lunch, and figured this place was as good as any. What we found was a pleasant surprise. The restaurant was clean and spacious albeit dimly lit, and we were seated promptly. What blew me away here was the quality of the food they served. I ordered chicken quesadillas, which are normally a pretty safe and unexciting option: most restaurants I've been to simply slap chicken and cheese between two tortillas and slice it up with a pizza cutter. That wasn't the case here: the quesadillas were stuffed with delicious sauteed vegetables including mushrooms, onions, and peppers. The quesadilla was so thick I had to hold it like a taco to eat, but it was absolutely delicious. Also tasty was their wonderfully Georgia-style of sweet tea and their vegetable fajitas that I sampled. The only gripe I had with their food was in their Mexican rice; it seemed like they cooked the rice in a lot more vegetable oil than I am used to, which gave the rice a slightly different consistency than I am used to. Overall, it was a really good food and I would definitely eat there again if I ever find myself somewhere north of Atlanta.

This was a pretty decent little Mexican joint; however, there are several others in the area that I think are better. The chips are very thick, and wear on your jaw after a while. I had the # 11 (1 burrito, 1 enchilada, and 1 soft taco) and subbed queso for the enchilada sauce. the queso was very good; however, there was an enormous amount of grease coming out of the burrito and enchilada. I know Mexican food is not classified as healthy food, but the amount of grease turned me off a little bit. Overall, I do not regret trying this place out, the staff was quite friendly, and the ambiance was nice (I agree with Tyler G. that the place is very dimly lit) but next time I will keep moving.

Great restaurant it is our favorite place for fajitas and margaritas in the Braselton area. The staff is so nice and friendly, and our kids love it too! We always have a blast, and enjoy our experience.
