Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

This was the venue for a business networking group dinner and panel discussion in mid-April. I hadn't been there for a few years and was surprised how much the immediate area around Villa Christina has developed. The old self-park lot adjacent to the venue was gone and a big building was in its place... so, where to park? I used a pay parking deck across the street, which was a bit difficult to get into and confusing to get out of, and I'm still not sure if that's where I was supposed to park or not. Better signage would help. Anyhow, once I got myself over to Villa Christina, everything was as it used to be... a presentable but not particularly memorable pre-plated dinner of chicken, potatoes, side veg, side salad in a functional but not particularly memorable meeting room. When the panel started, the servers in the room next to us were talking/laughing while scraping/stacking dishes, and unfortunately the noise coming through the doors from them drowned out our own speakers, until someone went next door and asked them to tone it down, which they did immediately.

If I could rate this place on feel alone, I would. Nestled deep in a strip of buildings where you'd never find it, it's truly a hidden gem. Parking is overly ample, and the restaurant itself is very nice, well designed, decorated, and laid out. Service is A+, food is A+. But what really stands out is the outdoor patio out back, it is truly breathtaking. If you can, eat outdoors. It's magical.

I come here maybe every 4 to 6 months for business lunches I love the the view and the arrangements here. It's so stunning. I've heard weddings/parties come here to use as a venue. I definitely wouldn't mind if mine were here one day haha. Parking - I usually just park at Autotrader and walk on over. I think I stay for an hour and half? I just pay 3 dollars at the machine. There is valet parking! I just personally like to park my own car. Not sure where else you can park besides in Autotrader's lot and valet. People - my water is always full. No complaints at all. Super nice folks here. Each time my server is on time and very helpful with everything. Props to them! Especially during crazy lunch times. Food - during lunches, it gets kind of busy, so we get the buffet. The buffet is fairly good! Salad. Sushi. Random things and someone to cut the meat. Nom. I get a plate or 2. :) Dessert - omg. It's heaven. They have tons. I swear I eat like 3 or 4. Ha. Not ashamed. Just love dessert! I am never disappointed. I always come here for lunches if I have to choose. I try really hard to avoid Dunwoody during bad times.

My work hosted our holiday party here and the food was fabulous! The steak was incredible, the chicken was moist, and desserts were decadent. Almost everyone had seconds, and many had thirds. Can't wait to come back for another dinner net month!

So let me start off by saying that I was by the least impressed with this restaurant as far as breakfast goes! I stayed at the Hyatt Perimeter which happens to be the hotel located right in the same building and as a Diamond Member of the hotel we receive a complimentary breakfast each morning while staying. My first morning was my last morning and here's why.. So upon arriving last Friday morning there was nobody at the greeter station, I had to walk around to find a host. After being seated it took approximately 7 minutes for a waitress to bring me a menu and take my drink order. After deciding on doing the breakfast buffet I slowly began to realize how excited I was that I wouldn't have to pay for this mediocre breakfast. It has your basics but that's just that. I grabbed some fresh fruit and ordered an omelette (egg whites with spinach cheese and bacon) simple right? Well wrong.. They brought my the full egg instead of egg whites. I understand I guess mistakes happen but to mess up and then have me wait 15 mins for a simple ass omelette was ridiculous I had to grab the waitress and ask her how is it that everybody else around me is getting there food but I'm not? She apologized and went to inquire about it.. Then when my waffle came out it was only one instead of the two that I asked for? Sheesh they need to work on listening skills and perhaps fire the omelette chef and waffle man.. Don't think I'll be returning...

This place is God awful. Don't go there for dinner. The Italian restaurant w a Greek twist. Makes sense. Horrible.

Very nice atmosphere and service. I would give it 5 stars but the Summer Jazz Concert that we attended recently was very unorganized and poorly executed. Waited hours for live music to begin and after 4 songs the stage lost power. Beside that it was very nice and I would definitely go back.

This was a last minute choice to take my cousin and his girlfriend who were visiting the A. Last minute meant, no sitter for me. I called and made rservations and advised them that I'd have a toddler. No problems said the host, as a matter of fact no reservations were necessary on this weeknight. The point is... the food was tasty, portion sizes were large (too much), the atmosphere was great. They catered to my two year old child preparing her a dish of fresh fruit (berries, melons, and grapes) and gave her a hungry man's portion of chicken fingers and fries. I loved every minute of it because I often get glares from diners when I take my daughter to restaurants until they realize that we both mean business, the business of eating. Treat us nicely, feed us and we are no problem. The only concern that I had was that my menu choice was not available. Other than that, I shall return, perhaps for one of the outdoors events.

The food and service is incredible. The Summer Jazz Series is incredible and kicks off on Father's Day this year. I highly recommend it!

this is a great lunch spot if you are in atlanta and have extra money burning a hole in your pocket. although, for 16 bucks, the lunch buffet is actually a pretty decent deal.

Best place in town!! A class restaurant!! Great service!!

I went here because it's right across the street from the office I was working at... and i'm eating this cold (from the refrigerated case) chicken sandwich as I type this... only because I need sustenance. The bottom bun is pretty soggy. I didn't want a chicken sandwich though, I wanted a cheeseburger. Not that I'm in a super rush, but 25 minutes should be enough time at 4:30 pm on a Tuesday to make a cheeseburger. When it came, it had bleu cheese on it. Isn't the default cheese for a cheeseburger cheddar? ...or at least swiss? The waitress offers to scrape the melted bleu cheese off the burger and put a piece of other cheese on it. What good with this do, if the cheese has already left its' oily STANK residue into the burger that I am so hungry for. Won't make a difference. As I looked around, I realize that this isn't a place for people who just want to eat, they want a third tier experience of pomp and circumstance. There are unnecessary details (which aren't really details) (more like tacky embellishments) all around this restaurant. So I went to that sad, cold deli counter. And I bought a cold chicken sandwich.

The Cafe is great for a lunch or dinner on the go! I love the burgers here as they are very big and come with a great side of fries! Call ahead to order so you do not have to wait. They have pick up parking along the outside of the building if you are on the go. Most of the business comes from the office buildings on the same street. The staff here is fast and friendly. DO NOT ASK FOR WATER ON TAP! They do not give out any water but only have it for sell in a bottle for a few dollars. The place is walk up only and the only seating is outside so this is meant to be take out. Just expect it to be take out and nothing more but fast service if you order ahead of time. Caffe Christina is open for lunch and dinner Monday through Friday from 11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. For more information or to place an order, call 678-686-4277 or email caffechristina@gmail.com .

Went here last night for a New Year's Eve dinner with my honey. For $75, u get a 3-course dinner. Everything was great. The beet salad was great with grilled chicken on top, the lobster was the best I have ever had and the dessert was also fantastic! They had a jazz singer and the place was very romantic and beautifully decorated. Can't wait to go back!!!

A lunch buffet that's great and that you don't have to feel overly guilty about. Not inexpensive by any means, but cooks that take a great deal of pride in what they do. When's the last time a cook explained why you should at least try the gravy with your turkey? Cool happy hour with free apps too.

WTF? How come I've never been here before? I am in love and no one can stop me! As my birthday week continued I jumped in my car from my office at Northridge & 400 with a friend and headed south on 400 not knowing where to go. I knew I was in for a fancy work dinner so I wanted something non meat focused and thought about where I can go that's different and I've never been to. BOOM! My friend had never been either so after missing the turn we found paradise lost. Valet on this cold January day was helpful. We walked in and were seated very quickly. It was a suit and tie vibe lunch place. I saw a buffet at the far end, lots of windows with a pretty woodsy view. When we told our server Donald that it was our first time he seated himself and explained that there are lots of companies nearby so the buffet is very popular. $17 for unlimted items, freshly made, different daily. This day's offerings were: mixed green with a spicy dressing with cucumbers, olives & shredded cheese. Caprese salad with house made mozzarella cheese. Succulent melt in your mouth turkey breast with rice, craberry sauce and grave. Al Dente butternut raviolis in a light vodka sauce, swordfish in a crawfish sauce and tenerloins of beef in a lovely vegetable beef reduction. After we grazed a bit of everything I opened my birthday gift. Without either of us saying a word Donald took it upon himself to bring me dessert with a candle!! WTF? A server that cares about his craft so much that a present cued him to bring me a birthday dessert? I will fight my girfriend to the death to take him home with me! The buffet offers dessert but I never got to see what they were this day. We were one of the last seated and he give us some other thoughtful gestures that I choose not to share in case he may get in trouble but DONALD and the MANAGEMENT at VILLA CHRISTINA you have unleashed a LOUD, PROUD YELPER ELITE and I will be a hash tagging, bragging, devoted loyal guest for the rest of my life! #villachristina

I've had a few business lunches here and this place has a nice feel. Perfect for a semi formal, not too casual date or business affair. The food is good in the Villa, nothing to write home about though. Pricey, but with my company picking up the tab, I didn't care too much. The real jewel lies in the Caffe side!!! The Goat & the Garden pizza is absolutely divine. I've had it many more times than I'll openly admit. I've tried some of the other pizzas once when they were brought to the office and they were good but if I'm paying, I can never stay away from The G&G. Sometimes the service is a little MIA in the caffe but they are nice none the least. Just may have to wait a few minutes if there's no one inside.

Lovely place for corporate entertaining on a big scale. My favorite holiday party during my insurance years was the one BB&T Insurance always held here, taking over the whole place. Excellent food for parties like these - your typical expansive spread as a buffett, and they always did an open bar (wee! Happy Holidays to all!). Nice staff. When my office was in one of the Summit buildings directly across the courtyard from Villa Christina, I also went over often for a casual lunch in the bar area or to pick something up from the little lunch store, Cafe Christina, adjacent to the restaurant. Great simple mixed green salad with deliciously marinated grilled chicken was my dining-in staple, and one of their tasty pizzas if getting to-go. Good spot for business lunches when you're in the area.

I'm thrilled with a bridal shower luncheon we had at Villa Christina. The facility is lovely, with a muted colour scheme, comfortable Beidermeier style arm chairs and excellent staff. I have attended weddings at the gorgeous outdoor area in the past, and was worried that when the Hyatt was built next door and bought Villa Christina, that the quality might decline, but I work in the area and go there often for lunch, and have found the food to be excellent. In advance of the shower, Renee Pickens worked with me to decide on the appropriate area and table configuration and recommended menu selections. We pre-selected three entrees, and we designed a one page menu with the shower's Eiffel Tower theme. Renee printed a menu for each guest's place. When I arrived an hour before, the tables were set beautifully, and included several small red rose arrangements on mirrored chargers on the tables. Two unexpected attendees? No problem, they quickly set up another table without intrusion or fuss. Our selected entrees were absolutely delicious...I had selected a pasta, salmon salad and chicken breast as options and had the chicken which came with Yukon Gold mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach, as did most of the guests. The chicken ...was moist, fork-tender and hot. The salads were a wonderful mix of artisan lettuces with a large piece grilled salmon. A wonderful event and everyone raved about the venue, service and food.

I'm shocked by the harsh reviews for Villa Christina. I just got back from a tasting of many dishes there, and I was very impressed by the vast majority of the food and the gorgeous patio. The garden is beautiful, perfect for an outdoor wedding. It also has, by far, the largest ducks I have ever seen walking around. We tasted several appetizers, and my four favorites, ranked in order of preference, are the coconut shrimp, artichoke cheese ball, beef Wellington, and the crab cake. The salads we tasted were both arugula-based and very fresh. The available salad dressings were definitely above average and made in house. I was delighted with 4 out of the 5 entrees we tasted. I highly recommend the salmon, filet mignon, stuffed chicken, and the stuffed eggplant (each being worthy of 5 stars). These were all well-seasoned and flavorful without being too salty. The marsala sauce and the ginger soy butter sauce are really tasty too. Villa Christina's main weakness seems to be the chicken - it tends to be on the dryer, tougher, blander side. I tried a chicken hors d'oeuvre, chicken breast entree, and a stuffed chicken entree. Out of these three chicken dishes, the only one that I even liked was the stuffed chicken, which was amazing - tender, juicier, boldly flavored, and exquisitely presented. Overall, Villa Christina provides an impressive selection of wedding food - definitely the most flavorful Western food I've ever eaten at a wedding. Overall, 4.5 stars for wedding venue/food. There are also free hors d'oeuvre at the bar during happy hour, which I think is from 5 pm to 7 pm.

I had my wedding here, and I have to say that it was the best experience, from the help and guidance I have received during the wedding planning process as well as the day of the wedding. One of the most exciting things to do during the planning stages was the food tasting ( I felt like I was in Iron Chef!! ) It was just awesome Lauren Mielcarz, our Villa Christina planner was absolutely wonderful and such a joy to work with! I couldn't have asked for a better venue! Our guests raved about all of the food, the grounds, the service.... you name it! My husband and I loved all the special touches... from the food in our bridal suites, the personal service we got during our wedding from Ashley (our personal server during the reception), to just the willingness to go our of your way to make our day even more special, by willing to work with other vendors to make the process even smoother. We were even given tons of to-go left overs to enjoy during our honeymoon!! We have numerous friends and family tell us that our wedding was the best one they have been to, and I couldn't be prouder. Def a great place to throw down a real party!! I really couldn't have asked for a better experience.

A great place for a lunch. Everything is made right there, before they lay it out, and they don't repeat themselves. When I last went, they had jumbalaya, salad, and a roast. A second trip would have meant something else. A great place to meet a client, if you're in the Perimeter area. Also went for an evening event awhile back -- strictly cocktails. Would be better if they had good beers on tap, other than stuff bottled. Again, stick to lunch here, and you'll like it.
(4)Miranda W.
Nestled behind a condo community on a hill overlooking the Perimeter is this hidden hem. This place is packed and bustling for the weekday business crowd, but kind of quiet and empty at dinner time. I wouldn't say that this is an intimate place - To reach my boyfriend's hand, and had to reach alllllll the way across the table. This place is better for more formal, impersonal business lunches. The grounds and ambiance are lovely and pleasant. Executive chef is excellent as well. I would come back, but for a work lunch, not for dinner with friends.
(4)Samantha H.
I heard so much about this venue and my expectations were very high. The services was very good and the food was delicious. We only had small finger foods since it was a after work dinner gathering, but we had a great selection of dishes. I would have gave them a rating of five stars, but the size of the restaurant was smaller than I expected and it was very crowded. Having a "full house" is great for the restaurant, but it was a little uncomfortable at times. Overall, I would definitely return.

Dear Villa Christina: why did you NOT tell us that you had a get-together for the "Atlanta Over 40's" from 6-9 tonight when we made reservtions a week in advance? The bar area was so loud with the desperate, over-40 crowd, with their overly botoxed faces and driving their 20 year old jaguars, that we had to leave our anniversary dinner due to the bar noise. NOT COOL! Thanks for almost ruining my night. Thank GOD, Capital Grill was more than accommodating!

A bit over priced but good food. Pizza could use a little less oil.
(4)Leilani B.
Excellent food. I ate dinner here with a large group and the service and food were impecable. The downside is it is very expensive. If you are staying i nthe hotel and order your food up to the room it's insanely expensive. I've had breakfast here a lot as I am a frequent guest at the hotel that is attached ot Villa Christina. Love the custom omelettes and they will even package it up for you to take with you if you're in a rush. Service has always been really good.

This was a surprisingly nice restaurant. Given the odd location (in a condo complex), I wasn't expecting much but the atmosphere was awesome. It was a Monday, so it was dead. I sat outside on the patio (all to myself). They have weddings there every weekend - absolutely gorgeous grounds. I wanted to try everything on the menu as it all sounded good. I had the crab cake w/apple slaw to start and it was good. The crab was fresh, very light breading and so it wasn't too heavy. I then had an arugula salad w/artichokes, sliced provolone cheese in a good dressing. It was good but not memorable. I ordered a pasta dish (but appetizer size) with homemade pasta purses stuffed with some kind of truffled cheese in a pesto cream sauce. Two words...awesome...awesome. The pasta was delicate and fresh and the sauce wasn't too rich. the truffle flavor was incredible. The staff was extremely friendly and talkative, which is what I find pretty much anywhere in Atlanta. It's too bad the restaurant is hidden because it really is worth visiting.

I just went to Villa Christina this past weekend. I have extra fond memories of this restaurant because I used to work there as a hostess about 12 years ago. My memories of this place were always so high; yet I was REALLY dissapointed at my last visit. I went there with a party of about 15 guests to celebrate a birthday. The host ordered about 5 appetizers. All of them were good. We had the ravioli, calamari, and bruschetta. The other 2 I can't remember so I guess it wasn't that great. I ordered the chillean sea bass which was pretty good. The fish was cooked correctly - leaving it succulent. My husband and five other friends, however, ordered the braised beef with scallops. I have to say the scallops were probably the worst thing I ever tasted in my life. Yes, it was that bad. They were rubbery and it smelled way too fishy. The beef was just ok in flavor and the portions were really not that large. This dish layed on top of parsley egg noodles. Which I think the concept sounds delicious; however, unfortunately the dish came out cold and so the noodles really just tasted like rubber. I would have given this restaurant 2 stars, but I decided on 3 because I really like the bartender there. She's really sweet and makes her drinks pretty good. I felt bad at the end of the night because on the way there, I kept raving to my hubbie about how great this place was when I worked there. I prefer to keep my older memories of this restaurant and that's about it...

Villa Christina is stellar! I had my wedding here two weeks ago in the pavilion and it was amazing. We worked with Lauren and her attention to detail and service was exceptional. The paved stone walkway for weddings is a beautiful walkway for brides, and the gardens were the perfect backdrop for pictures. Also, we decided to serve a southern lunch buffet and it was definitely a crowd pleaser :). Would highly recommend this venue to all future brides!!!

This is a review for CAFFÈ CHRISTINA TO-GO. I have no idea how the main restaurant compares to this. Phone ordering was pretty simple, I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich and the pocket burger for a friend. I was told the wait was 25 minutes. I came in a few minutes early and the food was ready. The staff was nice enough, they were kinda busy, but fulfilled their basic function of processing my payment and giving me what I ordered. The process of ordering and receiving food was fine. Food: Chicken Sandwich: 1. Ordered white bread, got wheat. 2. Not seasoned very well. 3. Chicken was very thick and would have been much better had it been butterflied. 4. Bun was soggy after a few bites. Fries: Seasoned alright, average. Best part of the meal though. Pocket Burger: Just a bunch of beef stuffed in pizza dough (think calzone with nothing but beef). No seasoning. I'd probably go back and try their Pizzas, those looked pretty good. I don't recommend the items described above.
