I'm not big on Chinese food (I don't like most foods with sauces) but I like Chicken Lo Mein and I like Phoenix and Dragon's Chicken Lo Mein. Definitely not a sit down place, but good for pickup/delivery

I came here to check it out after seeing the previous review. The parking lot was small and the inside seating even smaller. I think there were 2 or 3 tables for 2 and looks pretty much a take out place. We tried the moo goo gai pan and general Tso chicken lunch specials. For the price as far as food quantity goes, it gets 5 stars. For 2 lunch specials we got a ridiculously large portion. The usual entree section, a double fried rice portion, soup, egg roll, fried wontons and chicken wing! like I said, a LOT of food! The general chicken was pretty good. It has red sauce that was slightly sweet while slightly spicy and 4 pieces of broccoli. The fried rice was very plain ( the brown version) with no veggies. The moo goo gai pan was very average with lots of garlic and lots of veggies. Unfortunately there wasn't much chicken so it stays average. For portion 5/5, taste 3/5 so overall 4/5. Also want to mention it was dirt cheap. Only 13.08 for both specials!

Who knows if the food is any good. After two & 1/2 hours of waiting for a delivery, I gave up hope, had some oatmeal and called it a night. I certainly won't be calling them again. Especially since when I called at an hour & a half, they said the driver was enroute ... Must be a really bad driver who can't make 3 miles in an hours time. How do they stay in business?

unforgettable and not in a good way. I had beef with broccoli. While the veg and meat tasted fine the sauce was hugely over salted (or soyed as the case may be) . The rice tasted of rotten milk. There is no dairy in an asian restaurant so it baffled me. egg rolls too greasy. The chicken wing was delightfully crisp and moist. The only pleasant bite of the meal.

The food was great vegetables in entrees are fresh and crisp!!! This restaurant is rated amongst the top 100 Chinese Restaurants and it definitely deserves its ranking. The prices are affordable and portions are plentiful. Its is open until 3am wow! Quality is not affected by late hours. Lunch Specials are $5 - $7 and the Dinners are 8 - $15. 13-5 for House Specials. This is not a sit down with a date restaurant. This is an order out restaurant, but there are about 2-3 tables if you want to eat inside. Man this is the best takeout in the area and it can definitely compete (food/service) with sit-in Chinese restaurants.

I will never order from this place again. It took over an hour for them to deliver my order, which was just Mongolian beef, egg drop soup, and Chinese donuts. I paid almost $12 for the Mongolian beef and the container was mostly just filled with onions. There were maybe 12-15 small, thin pieces of beef in the container. For almost $12. The steamed rice that came with it was dry. They didn't give me wonton strips for my egg drop soup. They didn't give me any plasticware or napkins. I called to let them know how I felt about how my order went and the lady I spoke with wasn't very apologetic or nice. Do yourself a favor and order from anywhere else, unless you want $12 worth of onions instead of beef.

Can't add much more than the others. But 1. Terrible delivery service. Took over an hour to deliver fried rice 2. Food has no flavor 3. They stopped answering my calls when my order went missing 4.by the time my food came I was pi$$ed off and no longer hungry Awful. If this was the last place to eat on earth I'd prefer to die hungry. Stay away!!!

The food was awful. I ordered crab rangoons and they had no crab in them only cream cheese, the wonton soup wontons had no meat in them and the soup was neon yellow. The food took an hr and a half to be delivered and was def not worth it. I will never order from here again.

This place has the luxury of being among a very small number of super late night delivery options, and they abuse that fact. The woman that answers the phone, who informed me on my last order, that was woefully inaccurate, that she owned the place is condescending at best. Considering how mediocre the food is, she should be a little less of a horrible human being. The delivery drivers are clearly operating off of a Mandarin to English dictionary and cant even navigate the streets of Atlanta. By the time your food arrives, tepid would be a generous adjective to describe the food. As for the food, let's break it down. The Crab rangoon is the Phoenix and Dragon equivalent of chips and no salsa, unless you consider the side of sweet and sour sauce as salsa. The egg rolls and spring rolls are equally unimpressive If you were to ask yourself, what is the hardest thing to screw up on a Chinese delivery menu, what would it be? House fried rice! That showed up to my place as Egg foo yung. I'm not sure what that is, but I"m glad I looked before dude left my driveway and I caught it. That was the most unappetizing thing I've ever seen. Sadly, it would have been better than what I actually ordered. When the House Fried Rice finally arrived, I could have done better in my own kitchen. If you are the owner of this place, fix your sorry excuse for a restaurant soon. If you are a competitor, extend your hours, and put this miserable excuse out of business.

I will make this quick, if there were a rating less than 1, I would have given that. Stay away, find someplace else to eat, or just dont eat at all. No question that this is the worst fast food chinese Ive ever had in atlanta. The fried rice tasted rancid, the flavors very strange. Ended up dumping our food out and calling it a loss.

Food was poor. Mostly edible but not worth the money. I only ordered from this place because it was open and delivered late. Sweet and sour chicken was boring and fried rice didn't have anything with it. Normally friend rice has bits and pieces of vegetables. The pot stickers were better than the rest of the food. The doughnuts were meh. Delivery was slow, especially for midnight but maybe they are the only late night place open and with delivery.

This is by far the worst chinese food I have ever eaten. delivery is extremely slow and they brought the wrong order. When I called to inform them them, the lady was blatantly rude, unapologetic and placed me on eternal hold. She eventually resorted to hanging up on me and telling me that she couldn't find her manager. BUYER BEWARE the food is terrible and customer service is even worse!!!!

If I could give this place negative stars I would. This was the worst tasting, overpriced chinese take out I have ever had. I am so angry that I wasted my money on this place. "Wing Extravaganza", please. I ordered lemon pepper wings and they delivered the most tasteless, dry nasty hot wings I have ever had. The bbq spare ribs were like rubber - literally. DO NOT EAT FOOD FROM THIS PLACE. I am surprised these people are still in business.

DO NOT EAT HERE. I'm not joking, this is the absolute worst food I have EVER ordered from a restaurant, fast food or otherwise. My bill was $30 for two people and neither of us could eat our food. We ordered delivery, had I been in the restaurant I would have asked for my money back. I'm not joking, the food was rancid. I ordered Mongolian beef and Pad thai. Neither were edible. So sad, I wish the health department would check these people out. Seriously, be careful if you choose to eat here.

I give it a 1-2 star rating. The food is meh, my Mongolian beef was a mountain of onion and green onions, not cooked down enough--still have that raw bite and onion heat..not many pieces of actual meat to balance it all out! The spring rolls were bland, the fried rice had awesome flavor but had so many tiny thin stringy bean sprouts it's felt like I was eating noodles...but tasty ones. Idk it threw me off.. The fried dumplings were alright and the sauce was good. Dragon soup was also good big chunky bits of vegetables but had a strange after taste. Wasn't a fan of the hot and sour soup. It wasn't that hot.. At least the Wonton soup was a success, that's virtually impossible to jack up... They get +1 extra star because they delivered to me around 2am. Point!

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE! Delivery took 1.5 hours (they said it would be 30-40 mins), order was wrong, and food was horrible, bland and un-eatable. When I called to complain, the lady was extremely rude and actually said "since you ate some of the the food, we can't serve it to anyone else so we will not give you money back" really?? Wouldn't refund our money or do anything to remedy the problem. Worst service, worst food, waste of time and money. I wish we would have checked reviews before ordering.

  • Nate S.

I should have read the reviews... I felt like I was in danger eating this food. We stayed at the Mariott for our wedding night and wanted some late night food. Biggest mistake I've ever made. The wings and fried rice were uneatable. After waiting an hour and thirty minutes to get our food I wish I had just got to bed hungry. What a waste of money...

This was the worst experience of my life. After the delivery driver dropped the food off 1 hour and 17 minutes after I placed the call, I inspected the food and it's garbage. It looks like someone drove over it... I'm visiting from DC and I thought we had it bad... This is ridiculous. DONT DO IT. I called to complain and the nice lady's "accent" got thicker and thicker to the point where she couldn't understand me. As soon as I told her I would want to speak with the manager, she replied, "it doesn't matter... we all family. So if you don't like it, don't order from here again." I'm sorely disappointed. The pictures represent $50 in delivery from Phoenix & Dragon.

The food was edible, but not good. The delivery was horrid, took 2 hours to get there, the driver called me and insisted they were standing at my front door when they were then preceded to insinuate I don't know my own address!! I will never order from them again...

  • L S.

My delivery order was incorrect (wings and side sauce). No offer to redo the order. Advised to come into the store to replace the sauce which was an extra charge (specifically saying "I can't come back for that" - understandable I guess...). Called back about the wings, answerer stated she was going home and she would call back in 10 mins. No call... I had to leave my house to go to the restaurant and no one was available to fix my order or issue a refund. Left the food on the counter, submitted a stop payment request via my bank, and picked up food from Gyro King. The one wing I had was not that great neither was the one shrimp toast. Unfortunately, I had somewhere to be, hence the delivery option, and didn't have the time to wait an unspecified amount of time for someone to help me. Defeated the purpose, I guess. Avoid.

Worst Chinese food ever, seriously. Pad Thai was made with american egg noodles and tasted days old. Crab Rangoon was stale and inedible. Delivery driver was dirty. Kung pao shrimp was awful. I have never thrown away so much food.

My order was suppose to be delivered in 45 minutes it is now over 1 hour. So I called to see how much longer it was going to be. The lady on the phone was so rude to me she screamed at me that they are busy. Not very good customer service. I hope the food is better than their customer service.

Worst customer service. When I walked in a lady was talking with a customer. She was kinda rude. When she was done she asked me am I ready? I said yes.. I was look at the menu then she told me is it gonna take more time in a rude way?? That's probably the worst thing u can say to the customer.. That lady said she was tired. But still she need to learn how to talk to the customer.. Then she was screaming with someone else on the phone... Not coming back...

Delivery was an hour and 15 min late. When the food DID finally arrive, it lacked both flavor and freshness and had tons of MSG. To top it off, they screwed up the order, giving us the wrong soup and didn't include rice. If I could give them negative stars I would. I don't know how this place is still open.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Worst delivery experience in my life. Incredibly slow delivery time. Cold inedible food. Half of the order was missing and I was told she could not correct the credit card charge to reflect what was actually delivered, instead I was told to drive to the restaurant the next day and pick up the missing items. Are you kidding me?

Ordered for dinner delivery and it came surprisingly fast, and with a lot of food, but the entire experience was otherwise, entirely MEH. The fried rice was just that - rice - with maybe two small slivers of onion. No egg, peas, carrots or any other vegetable in sight. The plain white rice was fine, no major complaints. General Tso's was drenched in a sweet sauce, but not spicy in the least. The chicken was breaded and deep fried. It was OK, but again nothing special. I've had much better. House Lo Mein was plentiful and greasy and salty, just like I like it. Most of the additions were chicken, but there was also pork, beef and a few shrimp. Everything was good (pork was best) except the shrimp, which tasted fishy, so they ended up in the dog's plate. Would have liked to have more green onion pieces in it. Both of these were ordered as the combination dinner, so in addition to the entrees and rice, each of us got 1 fried chicken wing, which was pretty decent, and an egg roll, which were 99% cabbage. There might have been some minuscule pieces of meat in there, but I couldn't tell. The wonton soup was in need of some flavor. The broth was weak and the 2 dumplings in it suffered from the same "where's the meat?" problem as the eggroll. After tasting mostly noodle in the first one, I opened up the second one and found perhaps a pinky-nail's worth of meat. Hot-and-sour soup (the taste of it I got) was acceptable. Nothing to write home about. Overall, I was impressed with the delivery speed, the amount of food for the money. But nothing really wowed or even delighted me. I'd try it again if I was desperate for Chinese late at night, but as it stands, I will be seeing what OTHER Chinese places around me will deliver, and try them first.

This review is for the wings only - I haven't tried any of the actual Chinese food. That's right - Phoenix and Dragon offers 40 different flavors of chicken wings. And unlike the wings I've gotten from most Chinese restaurants, these aren't breaded. They're American-style non-breaded chicken wings in a variety of flavors. We ordered 10 each of the Lemon Pepper, Garlic Parmesan, and Buffalo Triple Hot wings. The wings were a good size. They were pretty greasy, but I guess wings are always pretty greasy. Note that if you want bleu cheese or celery, you have to pay extra for each of these items. The Lemon Pepper wings were probably my favorite of the three flavors. I think they could have been a little more lemony, but they were pretty tasty. I also liked the Garlic Parmesan wings. They weren't really garlicky enough for my taste, but then again, most things aren't. I didn't really like the Buffalo Triple Hot wings, though. Not only were they not hot at all (come on, people - if you're going to call something "Triple Hot", at least make it a LITTLE spicy!) but they didn't have any noticeable "buffalo" flavor. My friend said she kind of wanted to go and cook up some wing sauce just so she could dump it all over them. I concur. Two out of three ain't bad. I'd be willing to order wings from this restaurant again and try more flavors.

I ordered the THAI Green Curry entree. They delivered a Chinese version with Chinese vegetables that are not listed on the menu. I asked that they remake the entree as it was listed and the woman was very argumentative and offered me a six dollar discount. STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE. THEY ARE INCOMPETENT, ARGUMENTATIVE AND RUDE!! Order from any other restaurant than this one!

I get quite a few flyers for chinese delivery at my apartment (located by the Lenox Mall), so I decided to go out on a limb one lazy afternoon, and give one of them a call. It was a toss up between Ocean Garden, or Phoenix & Dragon, so I literally just flipped a coin. The value factor of the lunch combo is GREAT. I ordered two lunch combos, which come with a spring roll, a chicken drumstick, soup and some fried crunchy thingies that go with the soup (What do you call them? @_@). Lunch combos are around $6.00-$7.00, and the portion size was really generous-- it was an AMAZING deal, and I had enough leftovers for dinner! :D We had: - Family Style Tofu: One of my favorite junk-chinese dishes. All ingredients were well-cooked, and the sauce was flavorful and exactly what I expected from an Americanized-Chinese food restaurant. The tofu was well cooked on the outside, and tender on the inside-- exactly like how it should be. Great dish! - Mandarin Chicken: A little not what I expected-- maybe they got the dish wrong? I was expecting something... more orangy? and tangy? And chunky? Basically the dish I got was like the inside of a philly cheesesteak without the cheese, and with chicken instead of beef. Basically, chicken stirfried with almost carmelized onions. A little plain, but chicken was well-cooked and decent. It just wasn't what I expected from the name "mandarin chicken". Overall rating, food wise, this place is a 3.5/5. Value is a 5/5, so averaged, it's a 4/5 If you're looking for satisfying, cheap, american-chinese food, this place will definitely meet your expectations.

We decided to try it, and were not able to finish what we ordered. I am not one of those people who goes online and gives a bad review because I'm annoyed or in a bad mood, etc. We will not order from this business again. The egg drop soup was incredibly thick and had a funny smell and texture. The egg rolls weren't crispy and the cabbage inside tasted like old sauerkraut. The fried rice didn't have anything in it but something that turned the rice brown - I assume a soy sauce mixture. There were not eggs in the fried rice. The entrees we received were edible but not anything I would care to repeat. The Mint Chinese & Thai near Clairmont down by I-85 is still hands down the best delivery we've had in Atlanta. Too bad they don't deliver this far now that we've moved. The tamarind chicken at Mint Chinese is amazing. I am posting this because I don't want anyone else to have the gross experience we did. One other thing.... I told them to please use the gate code even if the gate is open because it gives us a chance to put the dogs somewhere before coming to the door. They didn't even get that right.

Too bad there is not a ZERO rating. Burger tasted rancid, fries and wings ice cold. You are a total idiot if you order from these people or will at least feel like one if you do. You'd be better off heading out to the Quicktrip for a 3 day old hotdog and substitute cheese nachos. This place sucks and any positive reviews must be shills, friends, and family.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
