Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

New York Pizza Exchange comes through in their promise. I exchange them money for pizza, and everyone leaves the exchange happier. Their pizza is cheesy and delish and the service in house is usually pretty darn good. They have a nice patio that features live music some evenings which is always lovely. The train is a slightly annoying situation, but is relatively infrequent and semi-entertaining. I highly recommend you exchange your money for pizza at the NY Pizza Exchange. I can promise you the pizza tastes better than your cash.

Customer service is the worst! Then again what do you expect with unprofessional management along with a weird name.
(1)Amy H.
I did not read the other reviews prior to coming here but My Husband and I loved it!! We sat outside on a Wed night. It was just a few families on the patio. Our server was AWESOME!! Very nice, and was not pushy let us enjoy sitting and taking our time ordering. We got two salads to start - very ordinary nothing fancy but I enjoyed it! I got two slices of plain cheese pizza well done (YUMMMMY) and The hubby got some mean meat pizza with extra meat and he LOVED it!!! He said the sausage was prob the best he has had!! I enjoyed the patio, the service and the food. We will def come back!! Prices were reasonably as well.
(5)Brian A.
I've never actually been but I've ordered delivery so my review is based solely on the food. I have to say I was quite impressed. The pizzas are huge and the slices are huge. It's your standard pizza but everything on it was fresh and delicious. I will be ordering from here again.
(4)Michael M.
Good local pizza place. A few draft beers. I would recommend a calzone over their pizza.
(3)Laila L.
It's just okay. It isn't real NY pizza. I'm from NY/NJ and my crust should be a bit more crusty so that when you bend it, it cracks a little and the grease slides down your hand. They also don't get their sauce to cheese ratio correct. Pizza is supposed to have sauce, not just cheese. I also prefer sliced sausage vs. crumpled. Since it is less than a mile from my house, I'd order again. It beats Pizza Hut and Papa Johns.
(2)Natalie H.
Pretty average za. The last 2 times we've ordered from here the crust was soggy and tasted like it was a frozen pizza. Really salty too. Don't waste your money.
(2)David B.
I used to eat here all the time when I lived in Vinings! It was a lot more charming before they started building all around it...they took the small town feel away from Vinings! That's not the pizza joints fault. Their pizza is close to NY pizza. They always had a friendly wait staff. The biggest negative was the train. If it still runs through Vinings, watch out as this restaurant was right on the tracks...it is deafening when it comes through.
(4)Taryn M.
Good! Typically our number one. I am from NJ/NY area so this comes pretty close to the real thing. Try the baked wings with garlic sauce they are Addicting! The pizza is great the for the price it's worth it.
(5)Pete H.
Beyond mediocre... Can't comment about the food but the service is abysmal and the cleanliness of the restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. Also, the staff and management appear to be comprised of a bunch of high school kids complete with books and other study crap scattered in their portion of the restaurant. Would benefit from some type of management presence or even a hint of ownership or pride from those who do work there. In summary, this is a pass. Location wise it's great. I'll be back once this place has been razed and a good dining establishment has taken over.
(1)T K.
Food was horrible. Calzone was cold and mozerella sticks tasted like cardboard. One of the worst pizza spots I've ever been to. They only had one waitress so the service was bad
(1)Emilie G.
Amazing pizza! This was my first time here, wasn't sure what to expect, but as soon as I walking i was greeted by a friendly waitress. She took care of my bf and I very well. They have a great drink menu and lots of pizza choices. If you love garlic they have a really good garlic sauce!! The place is cute, it's looks like a pub but it's a pizza joint. Will come back for sure!
(5)Stephania H.
I did not like the pizza, taste is not bad but the dough is so thing that when you grab the pizza everything falls apart.
(2)Tristan A.
It's ok pizza...that's it not returning. so tired of these Atlanta establishments with NY in their titles. They're all the same..just a major letdown.
(3)Kristin M.
Pizza was average and the waitress must have been near the end of her shift As she practically helped is out the door. This was definitely a one and done experience for us...there are too many other places around to have average food and subpar service.
(2)Mike B.
Stoping throughout Cobb County, this pizza spot is decent. They several different options on their menu, but the the sicilian slices are money in the bank. If I had to order a whole pizza it would definitely be the "CANT BEAT YOUR MEAT" its packed with several different meats that just falling off the pizza. Back in the day they had several different nights with entertainment such as Trivia, and Poker night. I wish they would incorporate that again. Those were perfect night to go and enjoy a slice.
(4)Tanner H.
Great pizza and great prices. Even their plain cheese pizza is awesome. Their White pizza was very good. Nice place to just come, hang out and enjoy a nice pizza. Sometimes Vinings can be a pain to drive/park in, but this place has plenty of parking.
(5)Brandon L.
From Lexington and in Atlanta for the weekend. Staying at a hotel and this was one of the only places that delivers here. I tried a make your own pizza, with Meatballs, Italian sausage, and banana peppers which is one of my favorite combinations. I've got to say that I'm really impressed. Didn't skimp on the toppings and it's a great pizza. For all of the people complaining that the "NY" part of the name is missing still got a great pizza I'm sure. Just not the style they were expecting. Definitely recommended.
(4)Dynomutt F.
They refused to trade me a slice of NY-style for the three slices of Papa John's I had brought. The current pizza exchange rate is 2.4 PJs to 1 NY-style. I was even willing to take the loss and not ask for the difference in pepperoni slices, but they still refused. Worst pizza exchange ever.
(1)Danielle H.
I will be giving them a call tomorrow. Worst pizza I have ever eaten. My boyfriend and I have been coming to this place for 2 years and the last 3 pizzas we have ordered have tasted like play doh and have very little sauce just on one corner. I want to call and give them a chance to redeem themselves since we live a mile away and its quick delivery when needed and I enjoy sitting on their patio in the summer... I'll update after the call
(1)Ruth C.
Not good pizza. I've heard from a few people how great the pizza is here and clearly these people don't know what good pizza is. And this is far from NY style. Stiff, cold cheese on "crust" (chewy flavorless bread) with ketchup-flavored marinara. The restaurant itself looks like it could use a good scrub down, especially the floors. I appreciate that it's a neighborhood bar atmosphere but still... My 2 slices took forever, and the waitress wasn't very friendly at all. I won't be back.
(1)Kirk L.
After moving into the area, we decided to give NY Pizza Exchange a try - I hadn't eaten there in over 10 years, but I remember liking it. And overall, despite some "sticker shock" (we paid $52 for 2 large specialty pizzas), we enjoyed the pizzas. Nothing special, but certainly good. We got a "Can't beat the Meat" and an Aphrodite - the toppings on both pizzas were great, and the sauce is solid. The downfall, as it is with many pizza places, is the crust. It's not horrible, but it's pretty bland and is much more a vehicle for the toppings than a contributor. It really baffles me why so may pizza joints can't make a good crust - while a fantastic crust is very difficult, a good crust is not hard. The large pizzas here are 18 inches - that's a big friggin' pizza. 1 large is probably enough for 4 people unless you've got 4 big eaters. In a nutshell, I'd definitely go back, but I'm also going to keep looking around the area for the pizza place that will be "our pizza place."
(3)Steve B.
Solid. Tremendous value for some New York slices. It isn't quite Northeast (NY, NJ or CT) but get it while it is fresh. The bar inside is very good. Dining is pretty straight up, no chaser. Can't go long with a Large Pepperoni and Mushroom. For Atlanta people, it might be Grade A. I also recommend the calzones. I'm a calzone guy and they are a notch under Mellow Mushroom. The prices in Atlanta terms are average (Atlanta pizza is more pricey than up north pizza and just about half as good). The Reuben pizza was recommended. I'm a big reuben sammich kinda dude but i don't know if I want that on my pizza. That sounds kinda gross! Well worth the try and may have to update the review someday to let you know how that goes. Grade: C
(3)Leiy M.
The service is horrible at this location. Just by my greeting (or lack thereof) alone, I will not be eating here again! I Stood at the counter for a good 5 minutes waiting to order my food while one guy is on his cell phone and the cashier is fiddling with her nails. The pizza is just mediocre. Definitely not a great recommendation.
(2)Christine M.
Consistently good pizza. Nightly dinner specials. Fast, friendly service. Great for groups & large parties.
(4)Lou G.
"Pizza is a lot like sex. When it's good, it's really good. When it's bad, it's still pretty good." In the battle of the New York style pizzas, it is fair to say that the pizza here fails right at the weigh in. It is a decent pizza, but far from "NY style". With that out of the way, i would say that I like the place. A casual restaurant in a good Vinings location, New York Pizza Exchange has been there for me for business lunches, eatings after the business meetings, and family dinners on the drives back from Six Flags. The salads served in huge bread bowls are a unique offering here. All the food on the menu is good, with no big winners or losers. Service is hugely inconsistent, from good to rude, and you never know which you will get. Prices here are a little high for what you get. Overall, A-OK.
(3)Andre M.
White pizza with chicken and spinach is yummy in the tummy.
(5)Brian A.
Enjoyed lunch there today. I was alone, and honestly was quite rude talking on the phone the entire time. The waitress was outstanding, and the food even better. She indulged me, still delivered top notch service while refilling my diet coke 4 times. Wish I remember her name - she deserves some kudos. Highly recommend checking these guys out for a decent NY pizza. It's not going to beat the restaurant you remember from back in Brooklyn - but it's good stuff for sure! What made it even better - $8 lunch!
(4)Jenny L.
I've been twice and the first visit was better than the second. We made our own pizza both times and both times it was delicious and loaded with the toppings of our choice. The second visit we stayed for trivia night and the waitress took that as an opportunity to not check on us again. We had to ask another server to refill our drinks. If people are staying at least an extra hour after eating their main entrée you would think you would keep checking on them in case they wanted to order more.
(4)Jang C.
After reading some of the reviews, I feared for the worst when I came into this place. Luckily it turned out okay. It is not a bad pizza place. Either that, or my standards are dropping. I ordered 3 different slices. I thought they were going to reheat pre-made slices. Instead, it looked like they were freshly made. I think they got their dough, cut it in half, dressed it, and popped it in the oven. If they didn't, oh well. They sure fooled me. I ordered the cheese, PMS, and the Can't Beat the Meat slices. I overestimated myself and couldn't finish all 3. I think 2.5 slices would be the ideal amount if you want to get full. It also probably depends on which slices you order. The 2 meat filled slices probably brought the density level higher. The crust seemed decent. It had a nice, thin crust. The end crust had a nice crunch to it. The crust had a decent browning to it too. The crust didn't taste too bad. But I'm too used to the delicious crusts of Fuoco, Antico, Varasano's, and even the Corner Pizza. The cheese slice had a ton of cheese on it. I think it had way too much cheese so I couldn't taste the sauce. Also, the cheese tasted stale. They need to use fresh cheese and not too much of it. I think I remember reading a review saying the ingredients were still raw. The mushrooms on PMS did look raw. When I took a bite of it, however, it was cooked, fortunately. The PMS wasn't a bad slice. The Can't Beat the Meat slice was quite heavy. It lived up to its name. It had a ton of meat. I can see why people would say this pizza is greasy. Well, with this much meat, it would be greasy. I don't mind the grease. It's a good slice for meat lovers. I think Yelp's current rating of 3 stars is an accurate rating. It's not terrible, and it's not awesome. It's about average. I wouldn't mind coming back here again.

Had a terrific lunch over the weekend! Pizza, Beers, and Football!! The wings, pepperoni rolls and caesar salad were terrific and the specialty pizzas was amazing - 1/2Canarsie Killer 1/2 Aphrodite! The best in the area! The friendly staff handled our special requests without hesitation and flawlessly. With 11 HD TVs, we got to watch multiple games at once. Coming back with a larger group on Saturday and taking the family next friday for the live music. Can't wait to try other pizza toppings. See you soon NYPE!
(5)Ashley A.
Meh, food is terrible. Their white pizza doesn't have ricotta cheese at all, its more of a cheesey garlic bread in the shape of a pizza. Service is atrocious, received the wrong food and called to let them know only to be argued with!! Never again.
(1)Scott S.
Best pizza I have had down here. A little expensive but worth it.. White pizza is great
(4)Jason D.
Average pizza at best. Our PMS pizza came out with barely any tomato sauce at all. So, it was basically crust, cheese and pepperoni and sausage. Yeah. Service was meh, and actually the highlight of eating there were the trains that went by close to the restaurant, especially nice as we sat on the outdoor patio. Just a disappointing trip. (And I'd have let our server know about our dissatisfaction if he'd have come back to our table earlier than when we were ready to go.)
(2)l h.
My one-star rating is based solely on service... Because we never received our food. My boyfriend and I arrived at 7:30 on a Sunday night. It wasn't very busy. We asked for a seat on the patio and ordered a couple of drinks. The drinks came fairly quickly and we placed our order for a Caesar salad and a 14 inch pizza. As we waited, other customers were seated around us. One by one we watched them receive their food while we still waited for ours. Eventually- after about an hour- we were able to stop our young server to ask about our food. She returned shortly with a look of embarrassment- she couldn't find our order anywhere and had no recollection of what we ordered. By this time, every table around us had pizzas and salads. I realize this is a first world problem but it is still very irritating to sit for an hour only to be told your order has been lost. We asked for our check, paid for our drinks, and left. I'm appalled that they didn't insist on comping our drinks at a minimum. We definitely will not be back.
(1)Amy D.
I usually don't write a restaurant while I'm waiting for my order, but I couldn't resist. I was seated at a filthy table without any notice from the 'blind' waitress. When I asked her to wipe off the table she completely missed all the crumbs in front of me--duh. Then she delivered my drink and disappeared. Had to ask another waitress to take my order or I would have been here a while and then have to tell my boss, "the waitress did it". I don't know what my food will taste like, but I'll update my experience following. Wish me luck.
(1)Jesse P.
I had a salad with cold cuts, which was good and came with plenty of meat, olives, and other veggies. We did not try their pizza. I'd get the salad again. What's with the candy brought out with the check? dum dum lollipops?
(4)Jeff K.
Got pizza there last night was extremely good. Atmosphere is amazing and staff is extremely nice.
(4)Peter J C.
Nice atmosphere, good beer and band. They need call it Pizza Exchange. The pizza is definitely not NY. Taste like frozen , Don't even attempt the Sicilian, the Monster slice is a small NY slice ,go for the Stella on tap instead
(1)Michael R.
Horrible service!!!! Not dog friendly either. We sat at our table for over 10 minutes without any acknowledgement. We'll never know how the food is bc we will NEVER return!
(1)Susan Y.
Friendly service but took too long to come back and take our order. Food also took a bit long to come out. My lunch break is only an hour, so I pretty much had to quickly eat and go once food arrived. In my opinion, they're menu is a little over-priced. Fettuccine Alfredo wasn't so great but the Aphrodite pizza was good. Not sure if I'd eat here again. Too pricey for average quality.
(2)Lesa B.
Loved it! We ordered a large half Can't Beat The Meat half The Canarsie Killer and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Yes, it's a bit pricey but I think it was worth it. There was plenty of toppings on both halves. I enjoyed the flavors of the meats on both. The crust around the edges was perfect, crispy, light and chewy. I would have given them 5 stars if the center of the pizza was just a bit more done. There was a band playing outside but it didn't take away from the ambiance inside. We were interested in the NBA playoff games going on inside. I would definitely bookmark this place for our next visit to Atlanta.
(4)S W.
If you are looking for a good pizza with freight trains whizzing close by your table, this is the place! The outdoor seating area is very peaceful, except for the occasional CSX loco rumbling by. It is great for train crazy kids, any boy age 2-12 will love the setting. In the winter, they have football all weekend, and a decent beer selection, for a restaurant without a bar. If you want good pizza, order a whole pie, not by the slice...their slices are reheated. Good food, good setting.
(4)Kate C.
I always ordered from Mellow, now I will continue to do so. Called for delivery at NYPE and they told me I was on the edge of their "delivery map." (this is after I listen to them discuss openly whether or not they will deliver to me) I literally live on the edge of the map, but only about halfway down their map; they will travel another 2 miles past my house, but won't turn 300ft to the left off the "edge" of their map. Odd. Glad I didn't give you my business. A rainy Fourth of July sucks! If you guys would have been honest and admitted you were slammed because no one can barbeque, i would have been understanding. Please learn how to use a hold button and thank you for inspiring me to open a Yelp! Account.
(1)Bill B.
this place could have it all if they showed any effort. the location alone should make this place a gold mine if only the pizzas weren't so sub par. tastes like everything comes out of a bag. I've have decent service there so its not all bad, but on the whole its just not great food. if you choose to go always gets a whole pie as the ordering by the slice will disappoint you for sure. also, avoid the mozzarella sticks like the plague!
(2)Scott S.
The pizza will not blow you away, but it's pretty good and this place is the most kid friendly establishment I've ever seen. Mine never tire of sitting outside and watching the trains rumble past from maybe 40 feet away. I have always found the servers to be particularly nice and we enjoy eating here a couple times a month.
(3)L E.
One of the better pizza joints in the area. I got great service. The pizza is good, but it does get crowded around lunch. Even then, the servers are attentive and friendly.
(5)Joe P.
I have recently rediscovered this place and I am in LOVE! I have found my pizza from there and I can't order anything else. It's the Joe Boli pizza on their white sauce. This pizza is like heaven. The base is a white, garlic cream sauce (all though you can get the red sauce too) topped with their spinach mixture and then covered in cheese. Their pizza dough is a flat crispy dough New York style. But, what sells me on this pizza is the spinach mixture. I don't know what they do to it, but it is amazing. I think it pan fried with cheese, garlic, oil and probably some other seasonings. But, it's off the chain!!! I have ordered it with chicken before, but the chicken seems to be dry compared to the rest of the pizza and takes away from the spinach. Honestly, this pizza does not need anything added to it -- I was just trying to get more protein. I always order this pizza as is and it is a winner! I get a large so I can have it for multiple days. A friend of mine and I went and ordered the The Canarsie Killer pizza and added jalapeños. This was also a really good pizza. It's a lot of meat for me and I did miss my spinach. ;) The jalapeños were fresh (not pickled) and very hot! Which I love hot stuff and she does too so that was fine with us. I have also ordered the Antipasto Chiarelli and this thing is huge. You can easily feed 2, if not 3, people from this salad. We had it with the creamy garlic dressing which was the best! The service is always great and they will make recommendations if they feel you are not heading in a good direction -- which I love and wish more places did that.

After a late night event and some confusion over their operating hours (the menu says they close at 11 on Saturday, Yelp says they close at midnight on Saturday, my hotel said they close at 10 on Saturday), we stopped in for dinner. Although we arrived with a party of six, including three teenagers and a small child, just before the 11:00 Saturday closing time (at 10:50), they were very nice, seated us immediately, didn't rush us out the door, were very attentive, and served us some fantastic food. The Greek salad was surprisingly good (did not expect that in a pizza joint), the fettuccini my daughter ordered was well made and the portion was huge. The pizza I had was well made, cooked perfectly, and delicious. The selection of good beers like fat tire, Stella, blue moon, and an IPA I was unfamiliar with, made it difficult to decide. The courtesy of the staff was very much appreciated! Very good food, good atmosphere, and ... Did I mention the great service?
(5)M T.
Gut bomb pizza, bathed in grease.... Server was friendly, but messed up co-workers order. Kitchen was very slow during the lunch rush, not a very good experience....
(1)kay s.
This was my very first time trying NYPE. I ordered the pizza with a quote time of 35-40 minutes and I waited damn near two hours! I had to reheat it in the oven because it arrived cold and soggy. Even though I was credited with a refund, i can't say I will even go into the restaurant to try it since the delivery experience was a nightmare.
(1)Carrie Neal W.
Today, I really wanted some *good* pizza delivered. Some really big, cheesy, way-too-much-for just me-pie, brought to my door. Alas, I do not live near a place that delivers one of those I reallllly enjoy! But one of my favorite spots - that does deliver within a close radius, you lucky Smynings folks - is NY Pizza Exchange. My most favorite thing they do?? Pizza, classic cheese or maybe half-and-half with pepperoni. After that, several of their pastas are tasty (if I'm feeling really indulgent, the baked ziti is super-tempting) and the salads are highly-splittable and usually good. Great for delivery if you live close enough, and a good spot to meet a girlfriend with kids for lunch during the week (this is a VERY family-friendly kinda place). Be prepared to listen to the trains go by regularly while you're there, especially if you eat on the nice patio. Service is generally good, prices are reasonable....but boy do I miss not being able to get their delivery!!!
(4)Todd K.
Best ny style pizza in atlanta!
(5)Darren H.
WEAK!!!! That was the first word that popped into my mind after taking my first bite. Why is it that businesses espically pizza joints think that by slapping "New York or New York Style" on the side of your building naturally upgrades the food you create. I think there should be a taste test given to every business thinking about using this moniker and if you past then you get to use the title. There is nothing spectacular about this place at all, just a regular place that not worth driving out of your way for. I hate to say it but I could drive to the mall and eat at Sabbaros and get better pizza than this. Save your gas money if you really want mediocre pizza, Papa John's delivers :-)
(2)Marcus G.
Not overly impressed with the food or service. The atmosphere was great. It has more of a sports bar feel than a pizzeria.....
(2)Bob L.
This place is awesome! If you want the real deal, grease and all, then this is the place. They have just enough cheese, sauce, and dough to make a perfect pie. They are known for their "White Pizza". You have to try it....especially if you are a fan of garlic. Also, add pepperoni to the White Pizza and it is even better. Good prices, good service, awesome food. I eat here once a week if I can. I will say this to add to the first sentence....They don't take short cuts and be prepared to dab a little with napkins. Sometimes the pepperonis cause a little puddle of goodness.
(5)Elizabeth H.
NY Pizza Exchange has been around forever- actually the last time I was here was in high school, over 8 years ago- yikes!! The service was great and very attentive. We sat on the patio to enjoy the awesome weather- the only downside for some people, might be the train crossing, it can get super loud! For dinner we had a small greek salad (plenty for 2 ppl) and the Aphrodite pizza- feta, olives, fried eggplant, red onions, tomato- very delicious! We also shared a pitcher of Sweetwater 420, only $14- not bad considering we got at least 3 beers out of it each!
(4)Scott K.
My fav pizza in Atlanta! Love the outdoor seating!
(4)Matthew L.
This place has changed hands a few times over the years but still turns out a pretty good pizza pie. When the Reuben Pizza was taken off the menu by a new owner, I wrote an email expressing my dismay which was replied to very promptly. The manager assured me that the pizza was still available and that it would be put back on the menu with my name on it if I wanted! Now that's service! If you like a Reuben Sandwich give the pizza a try.
(4)Naveen D.
My Florida buddies have been raving about NY Pizza Exchange for a while. Yesterday I had an opportunity to try it out. It was great! The garlic dipping sauce is a must! The regular pizzas are pretty thin and tasty. 18" is enormous but was just right for a table of 4 hungry people! We loved the breadsticks and dipping sauces. But really, that garlic sauce was awesome. Add it to your pizza and watch the flavors pop! Seemed great for groups and families. I may bring my folks here soon!
(3)Chriss F.
Nice staff with good pizza. I usually have either the calzone or spaghetti w/ meatballs. They give you plenty of food for the $$. I wouldn't say OMG this is the best pizza place in the world but it is consistent. Sit outside if you can get a table :)
(3)DeVon R.
I've eaten at NYPE twice, once when I first moved to GA about 15 years ago, and the second time was last night. I first discovered the place while driving by with some college buddies who were in town visiting and we stopped there from pizza and beer. Other than that, I don't recall one thing about this place. Well flash forward to yesterday, I recently moved to Vinings, its MNF and I needed food for a good buddy who came by to catch the game and so we ordered a simple pepperoni pizza. About an hour after eating, his stomach started making all these gurgling sounds and noises like it was a volcano getting ready to erupt. Long story short, he had to rush home before the end of the game, and I made four trips to the bathroom overnight. The pizza didn't taste funny or strange or anything, in fact it was rather unremarkable. I think at one point I may have remarked, if you had told me that it was frozen pizza, I would have believed you, it was just that unremarkable of a pizza. Needless to say, a third of the pie went uneaten and will be thrown away. My search for good pizza continues...

Listen, I'm not a New Yorker. No, really. I'm not. I cannot claim to *really* know anything about pizza above the Mason-Dixon, but I know what I likes- and I likes NYPE! The pizza is tasty, the staff is extremely friendly, and the pizza prices are good. Over the summer they ran a wicked nice lunch special that was 4.99 for two slices and a drink. As others have pointed out, if you choose to dine here, the patio is fun, but it's in the Vinings Jubilee section, so a train track runs right past the building. Also, the pasta is a bit weak and a little too expensive for what it is. Save your pennies and go to a real italian place for some non-defrosted meatballs and fresh pasta. Overall: Fun place, good crowd, nice place to go with friends or for a solo lunch. The pizza is fairly awesome.

Average Pizza. A friend and I ordered this place for delivery to avoid the typical chain places. Their online ordering system was fairly easy to navigate. They estimated that it would be 30 minutes for delivery but 20 minutes later our pizza was delivered piping hot. So hot that the cardboard box was getting mushy. This pie must've gone straight from the oven into the box and out to the car for delivery. The size of the pizza was huge. Their large is definitely a large. The slices where massive as expected with NY pizza and it was moderately greasy...most NY style pies I have tried have been fully saturated in grease. It was nice to see a pie that wasn't drenched in the greasies. The crust was average and the sauce was good. The toppings all seemed really fresh. My dining companion insisted we get a pie that had sausage (not my fave) and the sausage crumbles were pretty damn spicy. I scraped off as much as I could. Next time I will insist we do not get the sausage, ack. I would order from them again if I am in the area but I won't make a special trip to Vinings to eat here.

It was fine. Got it as a takeout order, and the driver got confused so by the time it got to me it was cold. The taste was pretty good, though. I just got baked ziti, and it's pretty hard to mess up baked ziti. Overall I'd try it again, but I wasn't floored.

NY Pizza Exchange is directly across the street from my boyfriend's new apartment, so after a long day of moving we headed over there to grab a few beers and lunch. The location is perfect, you get a great view of Vinings and the surrounding area and the patio is awesome. We immediately ordered a couple of beers and after the server promptly brought them to us and dripped beer on my leg--who doesn't want beer dripped on their leg? No really...who doesn't?? We proceeded to order lunch. I got the spinach calzone and my bf ordered the eggplant parm. sandwich in a pan-ini with chips and potato salad. Our food came out to us pretty quickly and my calzone looked good, but my first thought was..."man, his pan-ini looks amazing!" Now, a little background, when I ordered my calzone I asked if there was garlic in it and the server told me there wasn't but that I could add it on. I chose not to and good thing, the spinach had some weird garlic thing going on. And the word weird for me isn't a positive thing. This isn't to say it wasn't good..or maybe, alright..but I am definitely not lovin' it! My boyfriend enjoyed his sandwich, probably not as much as I would have, but he liked it. I'd like to come back because it's right across the street and also I'd like to give their pizza a try.

Okay, it crushes me to give them 2 stars. I've been eating here since I was kid but this is not the same place from my childhood! The service was not bad but it wasn't good. The pizza was boring, the sauce was bland, it was actually a very disappointing meal. I won't say it was terrible, I kind of feel that pizza and sex are two things that no matter how bad, they could never be described as terrible! Just left me unsatisfied and wanting more from someplace else.

My boyfriend and I went here on our first date so we go back from time to time and I just can't do it anymore. The pizza cannot compare to Mellow Mushroom and Blue Moon Pizza. The salads are really weak. For example we got a "caesar salad" and I could have made it better at home. The dressing was crap. I used to like the outside seating and live music, but now I just can't get myself to go there because the food just "meh". I think they need to reevaluate their menu and try some new recipes.

I've been going to this spot for about a year and half now, and whenever we go, we are never disappointed. Their pizza is a bit on the pricey side, but it's really good (and I know my pizza, I'm from Jersey!) I like that they can mix white sauce & red sauce on your pizza (try it, it's good!) When you order a salad, it's served in a bread bowl, that's about the size of a legal sheet of paper! All edible and sauce is brought out for you to dip it in! Today I tried the meatballs & mozzerella and had some white and red sauces mixed on the side. Oh holy hell! How delicious is that!? I did however need gum when I got back to work because I REEKED of garlic, but I'd eat it again if given the chance! The train that passes thru is quite obnoxious, mainly because the tracks need oiling, but like many before me have said, the kids love it!

Being someone who is not crazy about NY Style pizza, I was very content with my pizza...The location I have to say is amazing, the train tracks and the scenic view make this place a great pizza place to sit and enjoy the views with some good friends :) The service was alright...hence my 3 stars..its a pizza place so I guess they don't really care much for the service... The pizza on the other hand....is totally worth it and it has just become my fav place....I like it better then Fellinis....try the pizza out...you won't be disappointed!! :)

The pizza is decent. The crust is too thick to be NY style but it's probably acceptable for the south and all the Midwesterners that live here. I didn't like their version of white pizza, however. Thought it was super greasy and not very flavorful.

I like this pizza. Used to go there very frequently, it was almost our default Saturday lunch place. Service is robust, and pizza is always hot and fresh. Service is friendly, with some occasional novices who don't know what their doing, but that was alright. If your stomach is strong enough to hold a pint of mustard for at least the time you need to drive home to your bathroom, Reuben pizza is a MUST. With the sauerkraut on the side. I love it! They also have some weirdnesses like Peanut Butter and Jelly pizza, but that's for freaks like my husband. They have a nice patio outside, but beware of the trains passing by with the loud 'whoooooooooooooooooooooooo" every 15 minutes. It will set your years on fire, but it's fun for kids. The place is kid friendly. I think it's pretty reasonably priced. WARNING: Be careful ordering any custom "pay-by-topping" pizza with white sauce: they have this rule that white sauce counts as "2" toppings, so don't be surprised when your bill is higher than you expected.

I've never actually eaten in the restaurant, it's always been delivered. Good variety of sandwiches, strombolis and others. The food is good, order takers are fine and the delivery is speedy. Also if you ever ask for anything extra like parmesan or crushed red pepper it always comes. As the name suggests it is NY style pizza, so fold it over and enjoy!

Blah. Not impressed. Pizza was waaaay too salty. They were having trivia night and the dj was terrible. We won't be back unless forced :)

DON'T GET THE SPINACH CALZONE! It's funny, I had just read a review on this site about how the spinach calzone has a weird spice/flavor thing going on with it...but I somehow forgot that when I chose to order it! Trust me-- it does! Have you ever made a spinach dip with the Knorr's spice pack from the grocery store? This is exactly what this calzone tastes like-- as if they stuffed it with Knorr's spinach dip-- weird! In case you are not familiar with this spice pack, it does not contain any Italian spices and you mix it with mayo & sour cream and serve cold with crackers or vegetables. Hence, these sort of spices are quite an odd pairing for a Spinach Calzone! Also, the sauce is of the ketchup variety with a load of sugar dumped in it. On the positive side, the crust was nice and light and had a decent flavor to it. Also, my husband ordered the Stromboli and it was fine. Bottom line, if you are a foodie or pizza connaisseur, you will be gravely disappointed. But if don't care that much about food and just want to have a couple of beers and watch some games or sit out on the nice patio with your kids, you'll be a fan.
(3)Jessica O.
I've given it three tries. Service is slow. Pizza is never right. Sometimes greasy, sometimes too much cheese. Today there was a large splotch of some spice on my pizza that made it taste really strange. Not a fan.
(1)Christine H.
hawaiian pizza = thin slightly crisp crust + not too much cheese + not too much sauce + best hawaiian in atlanta! pepperoni rolls = greasy pepperoni + gooey cheese + salty pesto sauce + total guilty pleasure i'm a thin crust pizza lover. always have been. always will be. this place does the best affordable thin crust pizza in atlanta. sure, i could go to one of those fancy new coal oven places, but my practical side feels much better about spending less than $20 on a darn tasty large pizza. young people beware, this place is very kid friendly - especially on weekend nights. they do live music that keeps things fun and lively, and it's a great addition to the atmosphere on a cool summer night out on their patio. NYPE = great pizza without breaking the bank

I forgot about this place, and I pass it by a lot in my travels. Guess that says a lot about how I feel about it. I remember when they opened up, I was in the 3rd grade. A friend of mine lived in the neighborhood behind them and we walked up to get a slice. Back then, it was a DUMP, but it suited us well and it was good pizza. Years later they became the popular place to go in Vinings, expanding, cleaning up, adding nice decor, etc., and while it's a lot nicer now, it's also more expensive, more packed out, impossible to park anywhere remotely close, and usually full of socialites who believe what you wear is the window into who you are. Not cool on all counts, and the food has suffered too as they've built their customer base, no need to reach out and get more now I guess. They have a few menu items that stand as better than the rest, but typically everything is just average, on par with Blue Moon or similar smaller chain places, for the price you're left with a bad taste in your mouth. There's plenty of better pizzas out there if you're more concerned with food, and less on atmosphere.

I'm a huge fan of good Pizza, and quite frankly, this just isn't it. The food is pricey for Pizza and just not that good. I've tried this place for lunch during the week and dinner on a weekend. The salad also looked like it was fresh out of the bag from Costco, very disappointed. Stick with Mellow Mushroom around the corner if you have to have Pizza in Vinings.
(2)Sabrina S.
Awesome pizza and salads! They have an outside patio as well, right in downtown Vinings. Get the antipasto salad on a baked bread... mmmmm
(5)Kim B.
Had to remove a star because upon going back for a visit over the weekend, I discovered that they have changed their menu and the Baked Potato Boli is no longer available!! I was extremely sad to see that this, along with all their other out-of-the-ordinary strombolis were no longer on the menu. The white pizza (with added onions) was pretty darn good, though!! Was delighted to see that our regular server was still there, after 3 years!

Live band outside every thursday and friday. Great pizza, wine and apps! Love the train.
(4)Wallace S.
The pizza here is thoroughly average, to the point of being bland. I was surprised at the number of children in the restaurant, but I guess thats to be expected for a pizza joint. The price for the pizza was incredibly high, I think I spent around $35 for a large pizza and a couple of sodas. I doubt I'll go back.
(2)Stuart D.
Above average neighborhood pizza joint. This place exemplifies that old bit of wisdom, "pizza is like sex; even when it's not good, it's still pretty good". NYPE's pizza is pretty good; price-wise, it's fair to a little pricey. Boozehounds beware; they tend to lose their liquor license from time to time. Very kid-friendly, especially early in the evening. The patio is a nice place when the weather's right, but the passing trains get *really* loud every 20 minutes.

After having gone to the NY Pizza Exchange a couple of times to eat and enjoying ourselves and the food, we were pleased to find out that they were willing to deliver to our neighborhood. Well, were pleased until we actually tried to get delivery. We called, placed our order, and waited. And waited. And...waited. After an hour and a half, we called to find out what was going on. No one seemed to know at first, but then it came out that the driver had gotten lost and had tried to call, but the cashier had taken our number down wrong (770 instead of 404). When the driver called the wrong number, whoever answered told them that our address was wrong (because of course it was--for them!), so the driver turned around. Okay, fine. So we asked when the pizza would be coming. Keep in mind--this is an hour and forty-five minutes into our wait. The manager said that they were re-making the pizza. By this time we were really hungry and annoyed and declined the re-make. The manager got mad and said that it wasn't their fault because they tried to call. But they tried to call the wrong number! When my husband told him that that was unacceptable, and that we didn't want the pizza, the manager hung up right in his ear. The pizza was okay, but not worth that kind of treatment. It certainly was not our fault that someone got the phone number wrong, and we probably would have been okay if we had just gotten a sincere apology. But hanging up on a customer? Just because we had pointed out that it was their mistake and that we didn't want the pizza anymore? They must have too many customers and are trying to get rid of a few.

OK, I am not cheap by any means... but this is why I will not go back to NYPE: I call one evening to order a small veggie pizza and an order of cheese sticks to go... total: $27.00 I told the girl, "that can't be right!" and she checked and it was right ... 20.00 for a 14" veggie pizza... oh and BTW, that is as is not with extra items! I am not sure who they think they are charging this much but if they are, the staff better either be REALLY hot (which they are not), or the food better be the best I have ever had in pizza (which they are not), or the atmosphere better be extravagant (which it is not), or there must be SOME justification for the price (which there is not)... So how the do they stay open charging 27.00 for those two items? I am not sure but that evening I canceled my order and I will never return to eat there to find out! I think NYPE needs a reality check. I got the same thing, just as good at Pizza Hut for $ 15.00. Is NYPE worth the extra $ 12.00 on a to go order? The answer is NO!

I wanted New York style pizza and I was in Vinings so stopping at NY pizza exchange was a no-brainer. I planned to order carry-out and take the pizza home with me for later on that evening. When I walked into the restaurant, I was expecting to be overwhelmed by the yummy smell of pizza being made but, surprisingly, even though there were pizzas coming out of the oven regularly, I really didn't smell much of anything. "Hmmm...a sign maybe?" The guy who took my order wasn't rude just not very welcoming at all. The restaurant was very chill at the moment so he could've taken the time to talk to me, find out if I'd been in before, ask how my day was going...something. Instead, no smile, no offer to make suggestions for a first time guest, no conversation whatsoever really. Customer service is a really big deal to me and it greatly enhances my experience... it even makes the food taste better. "Hmm, another sign maybe?" I took a quick glimpse at the menu and decided to order a large, half-cheese (which the menu said was their specialty) and half PMS (Pepperoni, Mushroom, Sausage). I copped a seat and waited for about fifteen minutes before my pizza was boxed and ready. It looked amazing when I peaked into the box and finally, with the pizza in the car with me, I could actually smell it; it smelled great. By the time I got back home, I was hungry and super eager to taste the pie. Verdict? It was ...pretty good... but it was nothing to write home about. The flavor was nice but it had a kind of an overly chewy texture. The cheese, which was supposed to be their specialty, was actually my least favorite. I've had much, much better. The PMS was good though. It had a nice flavor with a bit of a spicy kick. I'm usually not a fan of sausage but I loved the taste of their sausage. It was the crumbly, spicy kind that resembled ground beef, which for a non-sausage lover, just worked. So, in summary, it was an O.K. pizza experience but I probably won't be back.

We came at a time that was the end of the lunch crowd in Vinings waited a half an hour for our order finally went in to ask and were told that they just forgot our order so I would never recommend this for somebody in a hurry all we ordered were salads and slices

This is a cute spot in Vinings. I like how the train runs right next to it and gives it sort of an old timey feel. There is this band that plays there two Fridays or so out of the month...2 guys and they're really great too and add to the atmosphere.

I always feel bad giving one star for something, but I can't help this one. I went here once with my friends and it was great (around June of 2013). I went again with the same friends less than three months later, and boy was it a mistake. I'm not quite sure if management changed or what, but it was a complete 180. The food was horribly greasy, they were stingy with the toppings on my pizza, and stingy with the toppings in the calzone as well. Also, the second time I went, I was trying to make the best of the experience when I found a twig in my calzone- yes, a twig. Like from a bush. Yeah, never again. At least we made it into a joke. I won't be back.
(1)Lane M.
I love this pizza place! But I loathe there customer service, I always feel as if I am a bother when I call to place my order and go in to pick it up. Which makes me not want to patronize this business.
(3)David K.
On a whim I decided to come here on my lunch break last week and it was pleasantly surprised by a few things. First, I was pretty much alone in the restaurant when I arrived. Despite that, my food was extremely fresh and made to order. Caesar salads can go bad in a hurry. So can pizza by the slice. They do both well here! I appreciated the Home Depot employee discount, too.

I don't have high expectations of pizza in Atlanta since I grew up on NY pizza. But I will say they get pretty close. When I fold up my slice and after a few bites, oil is dripping down my hand, that's a win for me. I ordered a Hawaiian slice which was just okay. Not much Canadian bacon on it. I also ordered a regular cheese slice which did not have enough cheese and the dough was a little thin and tough. But the flavor was pretty good where I could accept the NY pizza title this spot has given itself. I would order extra cheese to give it that extra push towards great. We went during lunch time and were seated right away. Service was great for a mildly busy afternoon. Prices were good since my two slices came to 6 bucks. My co-worker had a calzone and said it was the best she has had. And it looked quite delicious. I would definitely recommend giving it a try.

Ordered Take out. The chicken wings are awesome! They are baked & big. I ordered sauce on the side. The wings were great even without sauce. The pizza was good. We did half& half. The crust was perfect. The pizza was not greasy. Plenty left over for breakfast.
(4)Joel B.
We had a large half-chicken, half-sausage, all mushroom pizza. Crust was very good and not overdone at all. The chicken cubes were large and plentiful. The crumbled sausage was also plentiful. I'm not a sausage fan (due to the caraway seeds -- hate 'em) but my wife likes it and that was her side. I had the chicken and it was very good. Overall, there are many, much better pizza places in Atlanta but this one is pretty good.
(3)Reyna W.
This place is so fun and laid back! The servers are great and upbeat. Great place to come with a group for a party or to watch the game. Very cool decorations on the walls and of course the pizza is so yummy!
