Some people love it as their neighborhood dive. Some for it's old charm. Others love it as a one off ironic Saturday night binge. Others just love it for the 40oz bottles of High Life and the incredible Hulk's. Why do I love it you ask? Well after a number of trips there and capping off the night of my 30th birthday I love everything about the Morris Lounge. I have been there when it was just 2 of us, for karaoke night and sang a Bobby Caldwell song, or just to dance with the locals. Plus the food is above average bar style food and they have fish fry! I have been hearing rumors off and on over the last couple of years about it being sold or closing. I would just assume the Claremont closes first. I heart Morris Lounge.

My family loves this place (young adults and seasoned adults) The Southern Fried Chicken Wing sandwich is my favorite recharge ...mmm good. People of all flavors join in the fun. The décor is old skool and the fun is non stop. Birthday parties are so much fun there. We've known the owners forever and they will welcome you to party in the place :-). I go because I love to dance - dance - dance.

I've had plenty of good times at Morris Lounge. It is a casual neighborhood spot, and that's a huge part of the appeal for me. The bartenders pour heavy and one drink is normally enough for amateur drinkers like me. I prefer to go on Fridays when the crowd skews older. I last went on a Thursday for karaoke and had a blast listening to the participants and watching the line dances. It's a "dive" bar, so leave pretensions at the door.

With one previous review as a 5 and the other a 1, I was hoping to come down on one side or the other. Instead, I have to split the difference. The Morris Restaurant & Lounge seemed like a quiet club house with ten bartenders that didn't care about the three customers. I feel like if I was a black customer, I wouldn't have been charged $8 for a mixed drink. No way of knowing. Maybe it would have more fun after 11:00pm or on a special night.

A nasty hole in the wall that should be leveled. Absolutely nothing good to say about this skanky dive
