Look for the white side of the building in the strip mall. Overall, good enough. A little disorganized and our waitress was cute in how she mispronounced the names of some dishes, but good service. Food was good enough to come back again, but won't be rushing back. Nice decor, but it looks a little out of place for the theme of the food. Nothing stood out with any of our parties dishes but not any huge issues.

Good service, terrible food. Worst tortilla chips in Atlanta--they were stale! I had the brisket (jewban) sandwich and it was extremely salty and dry. Won't be back

Beautiful decor and good food! The place is really trendy and would be a great place for a date. Stopped in for lunch late one afternoon - quiet and not many people. The service was friendly and the food was tasty. I recommend the PBC and the Pibil tacos. The Teatro was meh - not very flavorful. The mole was also just ok, but I am very picky about my mole. Definitely lots to choose from on the menu - would stop by if I'm in the area again to try some of the other things.

Awesome place! I visited there last week. The tacos are amazing, atmosphere is fantastic, and servers are engaging and pleasant! Wonderful place to go with a date or with your family. Kudos to the managers and staff.

Moderna is an amazing blend of great restaurant and ambiance all wrapped into one! I don't know of another place in town that serves up haute cuisine that prioritizes "healthy and fresh" (lots of organic, "natural" meats, gluten-free, all made fresh in-house), featuring creative Mexican infused with French & Spanish influences and Mediterranean herbs and spices. So tasty and flavorful!!! All this, accented by beautiful modern eclectic decor, and warm and friendly staff, where often the chef will bring the food out to you personally! And since all this is cause for celebration...consider sticking around for the awesome DJ's as the place transforms late night into a very lively party scene!

First of all let me say where is jon taffer (host of bar rescue) when you need him most? I will say when my wife and I walked in we were in impressed with the ambiance especially for a strip mall establishment. We were even discussing how this this might be a good place to bring out of town family and friends... Well let's say I got ahead of myself with that comment. After taking it all in we noticed the menu right away. They literally had a total of 6-7 entree meals as well as 6-7 pages in total for the entire menu.... Something doesn't add up. The other 6 pages were dedicated to drinks. That's when we should have told our waitress thank you but no thank you. Still caught up in the ambiance we said well hey if they have only 3 items to cook those 3 items better be Gordon Ramsey good. So we ordered the queso gringo for our appetizer and was slightly impressed. It came out hot and we were like this should be pretty decent. My wife mentioned that she wanted to try the chicken enchiladas as seen on past reviews but didn't see them on the menu. We proceeded to ask and the waitress stated, "we are currently "revamping" our menu and have a temporary chef. Our thoughts were wait what, revamping and temp chef? Another sign to exit stage left but still we stayed plastered like a deer in headlights. We received our food, me ordering the Jewban sandwich and her the burrito magnifico aka the driest sandwich in the land and burrito gristlco (the meat was full of gristle and dry). The server brought my sandwich out and it proceeded to say sorry we don't have any fries left. My wife's side of rice tasted like the rice you would throw at a wedding, hard and dry. Needless to say the meal was beyond subpar and the waitress apologized without comp'in any of our meal as our dissatisfaction was without a doubt shown on our faces like a 10 yr old who didn't get what they wanted on Xmas morning. We left with completely changed thoughts and less $50. Never again, never again. I'd have a margarita here but rather go to Krystal's for a few sliders and would have a much better meal. So eat at your own risk while the "temp" chef is on the prowl.

Finally, quality mexican at a reasonable price! Specialty drinks are also outstanding. They have 3 choices of tortillas for your tacos (Flour, Corn, Wheat). The calamari is a MUST. We got 2 drinks a piece, an appetizer and 2 entrees. With tip, still less than $40. The decor is awesome, pretty hard to believe this place used to be a dirty old bar. They completely renovated it - it's got this Miami nightclub type feel. Service was great, food was even better. Only downside, it's way up near Roswell. Love this place!

Was in North Atlanta for memorial day weekend and decided to give this place a try. I agree with some other reviews that this place is going through growing pains (can't tell if its a nightclub or a restaurant). We tried a variety of tacos and they were all great. If I return to Atlanta I would definitely go out of my way to get back here again. The menu is very well labeled for people with food allergies!

Just had lunch at Moderna and have to report this will become a favorite! Food was great, fresh and clean tasting. I had the blackened salmon with Mexican rice and a healthy spinach, grape tomatoes and mushroom side. Salmon was perfect (I asked for rare), both in seasonning and in cooking - it melted in the mouth. Friends I was with enjoyed their meal just as much (veretarian enchiladas and fish tacos). We shared a gigantic piece of dulce de leche cake with fresh straberries on top. Mmmh Delish! The place is very cool looking; this is more of a bar later at night with live music on a small stage and they have a private dining room behind the bar that can accomodate 16 people around a communal table with a little stream in the middle and cool lighting. Also to note, priced just right for the quality, the area and for lunch (I think the same menu applies at night, making it a great place at all time).

Absolutely fanastic!! This place has it all! Ambience, incredible flavors, presentation! Now, that I've gotten that out of the way, we had been to Moderna previously, on a night when they had Salsa dancing. We loved the ambience (it almost feels like you're in an aquarium when the lights are on at night), the music and the dance floor. However, we had not tried the food. When I got a look at the menu, my curiosity was immediately piqued but its a fair drive from our house on the west side of town. However, when I saw a Living Social coupon for Moderna, I figured I would give them a try. After all, date nights away from the kids are crucial for a good relationship, right? Anyway, I digress. As fate would have it, time and schedule didn't align and we ended up taking our kids (8 and 11) to Moderna with us on Saturday afternoon for my son's birthday. It was a late lunch, early dinner timeframe and there were very few people in the restaurant. They had really cool music playing and the service was really fast. We started with the Guacamole Classico and chips and were immediately impressed with the fresh taste and well balanced flavors! Super yummy! We ordered a variety of tacos plus the Salmon Quesadilla and the Chile Seared Tuna. My wife was so impressed by the Salmon Quesadilla, she ordered a second one to take home with us! The Tuna was also quite good and was cooked perfectly for me. Almost like sushi with a seared edge. Its amazing how much flavor they seared into the fish so quickly! The tacos were available with a variety of shells, soft and hard, and the fillings were quite generous. I definitely feel that the portions were appropriate for the prices. With the Living Social coupon, it was a double value. We tried the P.B.C. (Crispy Asian white-fish, jicama slaw, salsa verde), Teatro D.F. (Grilled all-natural steak, caramelized onions, peppers, bacon, cilantro, salsa borracha), Brisket (All-natural slow-cooked brisket, smoked-jalapeno salsa, cilantro), Toluca Libre (blackened trout with lettuce, tomatoes and limeavocado remoulade), Pollo Frito (Crispy All-natural chicken breast, pasilla BBQ, jicama slaw). Did I mention we ate a LOT of food? Not only was the food and service outstanding, the servers were so incredibly personable that my kids really enjoyed themselves! They even brought a few candles (which we had forgotten) for the birthday boy's cake! Needless to say, we will be back to Moderna, with or without a coupon! This one's a keeper!

This place is GREAT!! Nothing like this around this area and definitley worth the drive if you have to travel a little to get here. Defintiely Miami-ish. I am from Miami and all of the ambiance was exactly what I like. The food was GREAT, and the service was exceptional. We sat at the bar and we were served by Josh who is one of the partners. He was friendly and accomadating and encouraged us to look around. They have a nice semi-private area for private parties which I definitely will use for out of town family and friends. LIke I said, food was GREAT, drinks were great..overall it was a very good experience and we will definitely be back. This place is definitley worth a try..I am sure that you will be a fan and defintely a repeat customer. GREAT SPOT!!!!!

Living in east cobb, you don't get to see a whole lot of in town quality dining with any versatility and that has long been a big pet peeve of mine regarding suburban living. That being said, after visiting Moderna on a friend's recommendation this past weekend, I was pleasantly surprised. Lately I've grown fond of craft cocktails which the selection at Moderna beyond satisfied my nightly dosage needs. Wish I would've been able to sit outside to enjoy the patio but the weather was a little cold that evening. As for the food, I would have to rate it as one of my top five experiences in Atlanta as far as mexican food is concerned, and being originally from California, that's more than impressive.

The food was some of the best I've had since moving from Texas. The ingredients are fresh and not canned or processed. The chef and his staff make the tortillas from scratch and you can taste the difference. We went today for lunch and the chef delivered the food himself and came back to check on us several times. We will definitely be back.

Inexperienced service. Bad drinks and bad food. Don't like strobe lights putting funky colors on my food. Have been on alka seltzer all day.

Visited this place today and it was okay. Walking in at first I almost turned around because its a bit dark if seated in back/booth. I'm the type of person that like to see every bite before eating. Upon seating I noticed how dirty the seat & table were. The place is white so its not hard to see hair & left over chips left on seat\table. Once I obtained a napkin to whipe the seat\table to my likeness I proceeded to menu. The menu is easy to read and not multiple pages like some mexican resterants. We ordered queso dip for starters which in my opinion was very bland even with jalepeno..no kick at all. Now to the entree which I had the salmon quesadilla which was very tastey. Diffrent from the typical mexican resterants, we also had the blackened tacos which was fairly descent. I wouldn't try this place again unless I'm in the area and it our only option..not a bad place just no wow factor as far as taste.. also to the owner, CLEAN THE BOOTHS & TABLES FIRST IMPRESSIONS GOES A LONG WAY..

Moderna is awesome. I recomend the Carne Asada taco, the Teatro taco, and the Cozumel Shrimp taco. I live and work in the Roswell / Sandy Springs area so I have already eaten here 3 times. The only specialty drink I've tried was the "No Mames" and it was delicious. Can't wait to see this place on a Friday night as I have heard about some live music events in the near future. Keep it up!

The interior is super cool and the wait staff seems new but they're learning. I'd go back to try it again. The food was good, though nothing about it stood out. I'll be back for a closer look.

Love the decor: trendy and trippy. Service friendly but not super attentive. Guacamole and chips tasty! Pollo taco very good, enjoyed the carmelized onions. The vegatable rice wasnt that great. Mojito a little on the sweet side otherwise good

HA! This place is a JOKE. We came to support our friend's first gig here tonight and the server charged us $10 for two "fiji" water bottles. First of all, when we ordered water she did NOT warn us it was bottled. ok... When we did get it, it wasnt even fiji like the reciept said When we confronted her about it she said its the club price. Pff, Ive NEVER been charged $5 for a water bottle! Not even at the movie theater would they charge this!!!!

The tacos here are a $1 before 6pm on Sunday I missed out on that but the tacos are still pretty good. Not his biggest fan of the frozen drinks but this one i ordered that came in like a mini container that you get to keep after was definitely worth it. I'll be back next time before 6 lol

I've been wanting to try this place for ages....it's sparkly colorful sign called to me. I was a bit disappointed. We were a party of 3 and were one of only 3 tables total in the place. I ordered a margarita, waited about 10 minutes, then ordered queso & guacamole. Another 10 minutes went by and they brought me the appetizers---still ok margarita. 5-8 minutes later, I got my drink. In a EMPTY RESTAURANT. The marg tasted weird. Not fresh, not like mix, just....weird and not great. Queso was blech. Guacamole was ok. Ordered 2 tacos (al pastor and carne asada) and they were pretty dry but tasted decent. The waitress had to come back twice to ask me what I ordered cause she forgot. They never asked if I wanted another drink. The lights also kept turning up and down. I dunno if that was intentional or not, but damn, I was about to have a seizure. Ambience is nice overall, but they might need to work on the restaurant half of their business more than the club part. Won't return.

This place is located on Roswell Road in Sandy Springs and boy has it undergone a facelift from the previous restaurant that was here. I'm not going to act like I know about contemporary design and all that so I'll just say the decor is very chic and stylish. It looks awesome inside of there. The lighting is colored and varied. This creates a nice visuals for the atmosphere, but it was hard to identify the ingredients in the food because the light distorted the colors. Small thing; some people just like to stare their food down before they inhale it. They have a wall that looks like it is made up of grass and moss. They have a big screen t.v. over the bar. I liked. Okay, I have to say the chips are freakin good. Slight nutty taste, crisp, and light. I filled up on those as I could not stop with the eating of them. I am gaurenteed to return just for that reason. The cheese dip is another winner. I think it is called Chihuahua cheese and it was a little bit spicy and delcious. I'm telling you, I will be back for that. It was lunch, so I had a bowl of corn and poblano chowder. It was awesome. I sucked it down as though it were my last meal. Others at the table had burritos, salmon quesadilla, chicken quesadillas, and chicken mole. Plates were cleaned, I tell you. Clean. Service was pretty good. One person got onions and peppers on their plate when they requested not to have any. They quickly fixed the problem. They were nice enough to give us individual checks with no problems. As I return and try other, sure to be fabulous, items on this menu, this may become a five star situation. I'll look forward to it.

Ventured here recently with a friend for an early dinner and we were pleasantly surprised. The building sticks out like a sore thumb (not a bad thing) in the strip mall it's in on Roswell Rd. Opposite end from Enzo. Slightly upgraded twist on classic Mexican dishes. We shared the tlyacoyo which was two masa cakes with panela, chihuahua cheese, salsa verde and grilled shrimp. It was delicious! Probably my favorite thing. We shared the salmon/spinach/caramelized onion quesadilla and each had a taco - cozumel shrimp (marinated in habañero) and calamari. We enjoyed it all. I had a sangria, she had a caipirinha de Brazil - both spot on for us. Service was OK. For it to be near empty and early for the dinner service, our waitress disappeared a couple of times for long periods of time. But everyone was friendly enough. They have a nice patio space which I'm sure will be busy as the summer approaches. The space itself is interesting and bit schizo. It is very spacious and nice inside with big screen TVs, a DJ booth, small dance floor and club-like lights. It doesn't really feel like a restaurant inside but more of a nightclub that happens to sell good food for a nightclub. They seem to have a lot of events here at night and it is probably a good time if you are looking for something in that area. It was just a little odd to have purple, blue and green lights strobing across our food. I will definitely return to try more of the menu.

This place just opened around the corner from Kungfu's place. We passed by it a few times and I dismissed it saying it looks too much like a Miami bar to serve me a real taco. The incentive that cinched our visit was a Scoutmob deal that popped up. I'm glad to report that this super ultra sleek looking place also serves super awesome food. It's located in a strip mall out in Sandy Springs, about three to four miles down from Nori Nori. They have a great selection of tequila, a great looking interior, and a great lighting and sound system that parallels any nightclub in town. There was a birthday party being held there that night so the atmosphere was much more club like than a restaurant. I ordered a tlacoyo, a paloma, and a chicken mole for myself and Kungfu ordered a Teatro DF taco and a Jewban sandwich. He says that he would've ordered carnitas if he saw them on the menu but the lights and the club atmosphere distracted him and he just wanted to eat and get out. I know, he sounds like a cranky grandpa at times but he's a grumpy old soul when he's hungry. We received our Teatro DF first and at the first bite, Teatro DF became the best gourmet steak taco to me in Atlanta. The steak was so tender and so juicy. I also expected we'd get a small taco but this taco was pretty huge. The size of two to three tacos put together and filled to the brim with glorious, mouth-watering steak. I think next time we're here, we're just going to order a ton of tacos just to try them out. Next we got our tlacoyo, a corn cake that's cooked just like a polenta with salsa verde topped with panela and chihuahua cheese and shrimp. We mowed this dish down as well. I loved how the warm corn cake melted the chihuahua cheese just so and the salsa verde cooled the corn cake so you wouldn't burn your mouth. The shrimp was done to a perfection and added a nice contrast of texture within the entire dish. I love this dish. I love it. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting. Next our sandwich and our chicken mole came out. Not a lot of places around town do mole. The chicken mole was literally half a chicken served to you on a bed of Spanish rice and a bed of salad next to it. The juicy chicken is dotted with panela cheese on top of its mole covered glory. The chicken is smoky with a hint of sweetness with a little bit of magical je ne sais quoi. I never like Spanish rice at any Mexican joint and Moderna's Spanish rice? I could probably just eat just the rice and be happy. It's that good. It reminds me more of rice from arroz con pollo dish and it's very well made. It's 1am and I'm making myself really hungry thinking about it. The Jewban wasn't bad but we both weren't really a fan of it. The ropa vieja was a bit too salty and the bread wasn't sweet enough to counter the saltiness. The meat though, good lord, the man knows how to cook his meats. All of them are just cooked to perfection, never tough, never dry, and they're all freaking juicy. My paloma was good, but then again, I've never had a bad paloma in recent memory. Is this a place I'd recommend people to come OTP for? Heck yes. It's hip enough to eat and drink and then to go party downtown or just to stay and party OTP. Their food is more than spot on and their bar is very well stocked with a great assortment of tequilas and cachacas! I'm actually thinking about having my birthday party here this year as the food is more than fairly priced and they have a great selection of tequilas. What more could a tequila lush ask for?

3 stars for the "meh" food (nothing special), 3 stars for the service (nothing special, sometimes quite slow), and 1 star for attitude. Went to stop by there Sunday for a quick taco, some lady that worked there almost hit us (she was taking a left into the lot, we were taking a right (hence we had the right of way), and she just went right ahead...silver car, DC plates). We got to the door as she was standing there on her cell phone and she snapped at us (after us avoiding her hitting our car) "We're not open til 3:00." It was not a "Sorry, we're not open yet," or even "we're not open yet," (or "sorry for almost hitting you in the parking lot") it was snippy and bitchy, like we were somehow inconveniencing her for thinking of eating at Moderna. We live very close by, and used to stop in occasionally when we needed a sub-par taco. No more.

Miami meets Mexico with Moderna, a sexy new taco restaurant with head chef Ignacio Barq. Ignacio was head chef at popular Red Pepper Taqueria off of Briarcliff. His new restaurant is great and priced so well I am already planning my next fallow up. We started the dinner with Moyetes which is Mexican bread with refried beans,Chorizo, cheese and salsa Borracha. It was amazing, and I would definitely order it again. The Moyetes was soft, and flavorful with just the right amount of spice. I then ordered the carne asada taco, the brisket taco, and the pibil ( pork) taco. They were all amazing and very authentic in the preparation. I would say that everyone of them was spectacular...Prices range between 12-4 dollars on the menu. I am salivating just thinking about the tacos. The place is posh great for a date. I am glad there is finally a descent restaurant on that part of Roswell rd.

What a "Cool" place. They have atmosphere, with a cool vibe, good cocktails, drinks and cold beer as well as food. The drinks and food are made fresh which is great. You can choose the Indoor bar or tables or hang at the covered Patio, The staff and service that evening was good.

I liked the design of this place and service was great as well. Parking is free which is always good. I went here with a group and it wasn't too crowded at the time we went on a Tuesday at 7pm which is great because we were serve well and fast. The food is good and the drinks are strong. Im kinda indifferent about the restaurant though it was nothing that sparked about it..its wasn't bad, but I probably wont go back to it.

TL;DR version: the tacos were bursting with flavor, trendy/modern decor, excellent service. I think that's all there is to say, really. And the guac was really good (almost as good as my homemade version, and you can get it "hot"). We ordered the pork, calamari, Teatro DF, and the shrimp. The pork one was a bit salty. But all in all, there was yummy in my tummy.

I don't write many reviews but the service here is horrendous. Mind you, I hadn't even made it into the establishment.Today, I called to inquire about the concept and the hours as I heard they close early sometimes. The person answered the phone, did not offer his name nor did he mention the name of the establishment. I asked if this was Moderna and he said, "Uhhh Yeah!" He started talking to people in the background mid conversation. I asked the operations hours and he said "Huh" and began talking to people in the background again. When I repeated my question, he replied very curtly that they were closing in 15 minutes (10:30). Later, I read on their web-site they should've closed at 2:30. I advised him of his sub-par service and he offered a half-hearted apology. To survive outside of the perimeter you have to provide stellar service to compensate for the smaller populations. Unfortunately, Moderna may meet the fate of many OTP establishments as they don't commit to service excellence!

Since a scoutmob was offered and my lovely work folk raved I decided to give Moderna a try. I can't visit places on work gossip alone because my co's don't quite know what they are talking about when it comes to food. They still weren't on key with this place either. All they have done lately is rave about how fabulous the tacos were. Well, not really or at least that wasn't my take. I ordered the shrimp taco and the calamari taco. Neither of them were all that good. I should also say that I am not really a fan of flour tortillas so that didn't help things. The issue I had with the calamari taco was that the sauce that topped it was too sweet and cloying. I couldn't get any true squidy taste and I love some squid. The shrimp taco was better, but not by much. The shrimp was overcooked and there were only a few that made it in my taco. The saving grace of the meal was the moderna salad with salsa ranch dressing. The $7 medium large salad comes with black beans, lettuce, roasted corn, pepitas, cukes, tomatoes, radishes, avocado, and perhaps my most favorite ingredient, masa croutons. The masa croutons need to become an app because they are awesome little cubes of fried masa goodness. You can also get fried tofu added for no extra charge. The $7 price tag doesn't look so bad when you add that in. I think it's $2 or $3 extra if you want chicken or shrimp added. This salad was awesome. I've already been planning another trip just for the salad. I should add that the slightly spicy ranch dressing is the final push in the star rating. I don't love salad dressings, especially not ranch (I'm a bad southerner, I know), but this shit is funnel-it good. To summarize the long winded column above: get the salad, make sure you order the fried tofu with it (despite the calorie count of the final dish), and drizzle spicy ranch on top. You can't go wrong with this combo.

Nightmare. Love their beans & rice. Husband told me to order by phone so he can pickup our meal as he was returning from work. Calling during operating hours voicemail came on during serving hours so I couldn't place an order. When my husband arrived & told them of my attempts they said I called the wrong #. Fyi, the voicemail gives the exact address of the location you're calling. ..duh. Next, when we opened the beans containers there was NO beans!! Only black mush. We're done!

I decided to host a pre-Cinco de Mayo celebration for my social group (Atlanta New In Town Meetup), and decided this was the perfect location because 1) It looked really trendy; 2) It was near my place; and 3) We saw it on LivingSocial. I'm really a sucker for all things glamourous and trendy, and being a transplant from NYC, I'm going to have a better time if I'm in a relaxing atmosphere. I loved the fact that they gave our group of 20 the VIP cabana space. There was a mix of purple and indigo lighting, and the vines overhead made it look like a set for "Midsummer's Night Dream". It was perfect for lounging and chatting. The problem is, the only tables available were essentially cocktail tables. It wasn't very conducive for eating, because you spent most of the time balancing your dinner in your lap. We also had two servers who seemed overworked and stressed out. People were going to the bar for drinks rather than putting in orders. When we arrived, it took me 40 minutes to get a cocktail and a Coke. My appetizer actually arrived before my beverage did, and when I remarked on this, the waitress made a snappy remark back. The food was decent, but nothing special. The drinks were very good. As a club/lounge, I'd think this place was 5 stars. Since food and service mattered, I can only give it 3. The manager really did his best to work with us, accepting our Living Social voucher, even though it was "not valid on special occasions" (apparently, two days before Cinco de Mayo constitutes a special occasion. Since the place was empty by 10 and there was no entertainment, I don't see how.) One member of our party had his credit card misplaced by the bar, and when it was found, received a complimentary shot of tequila. The manager thanked us for bringing in the group, and was an all-around nice guy. Things just seemed really chaotic and disorganized. Despite having 2 waitresses, we ended up having to hunt down silverware and napkins because there were never enough for everyone. It's almost as if they weren't expecting us to want food. If this were a place that just served appetizers and cocktails, it would have been amazing. The cabana is perfect for that. However, the next time I want to try the food, I'm going with one other person and sitting at a table. While they'll tell you they're great for large groups, the main problem was that they really weren't equipped to handle a party of 20.

When I walked in and saw the sleek atmosphere, I thought Moderna would be pricey. I was wrong. The menu had a lot of tasty-sounding items, and I went for a vegetable quesadilla. I don't usually like Mexican food because I find it greasy, at Moderna, the food tasted fresh, and it was well prepared. No pools of grease. It also was reasonable. Without drinks, it came to under $10 a person. The only aspect I didn't like was the service. It was friendly, but after we got our food, our server disappeared. She didn't refill our drinks until we finally flagged her down. It was a European type of service where the servers give you your food and then leave you alone. All in all, it was a great experience with delicious food and reasonable prices. I plan on going back.

The food was great and delicious. There was flavor in every taco I tried. The cocktails are fantastic and great variety of choices. The inside looks amazing and definitely gives you a Miami feel in sandy springs - give it a go !

A person I knew had found this place and we decided to go one night. The night we decided to go, however, i had been closed for a private event. So the following week, my partner and I decided to go on a double date with my best friend and her husband. The food selection is meager, it is quite expensive and honestly, not that great. The service was ok, but not very attentive, and it was not even busy. There may have been four other tables being used in the place, on a Saturday night. It appears as though it turns into some sort of club after-hours. The decor is nice. I like the uplighting, and the overall feel, I just wish there were more selection and the prices were not as high. I think I paid $8 for just a single taco. I know it is not a taco bell or anything, but still $8 for a single taco seemed a bit pricey.

Not like ANYTHING else around here. Great tacos and flavors and design. Fun, ambient music. It really does remind me of Miami. Except without all the Miami. So... BONUS!!

Truly disappointing in the 1st dimension of services industry i.e responsiveness. I hope you know it's simply unacceptable if a restaurant leaves it's phone unattended for hours, and no one gets back to you after reservation requests over multiple times. And yeah, that's you guys!! So you know what, I'll spare you with my business. Now go & hire a phone attendant:)

We were here as a group that had children and were eating around 5:30. I can give them somewhat of a break because maybe they aren't use to serving that type of group because it took HOURS to get served and the food was mediocre at best. Living in the metro area there are so many excellent places to eat. I would skip this place, unless it's more of a lively place that offers entertainment in the evenings that you might enjoy? Based upon our food and service wasn't worth it.

About this place.... Two stars are for the taste and price of the margaritas. Otherwise would have been a one for sure. Went here tonight with the hubby expecting a nice night out. We were impressed walking in-it was super nice almost an LA/Miami vibe, but it was mostly empty. We started off with a margarita and the cheese dip and chips. It was ok-definitely not worth the calories. The menu was very limited-I asked the waitress where the enchiladas were and she informed us that they are revamping the menu and the regular chef was out and they have a "fill in" for the weekend- should have been my sign to stop there but I'm a glutton for punishment. Ordered the burrito magnifico and he ordered a sandwich. Took forever which was fine with us... When it came out they told hubby they were out of fries! What? So they offered him grilled veggies. My burrito was pitiful- dry with cold black beans and hard "Mexican" rice. I asked for salsa and some fresh rice. The waitress laughed and apologized about the food situation... When we got the check there was nothing comped- not even a portion of our meals. Overall it was a very unsatisfying experience. I would go back to sit at the bar for a drink but never to eat.

I was hesitant to try this restaurant because the sports bar that used to occupy this suite was very dirty. Luckily my wife talked me into trying it and we both really enjoyed the experience. The brisket and chickens tacos were both very fresh and delicious. The waitstaff is well trained and pretty cute! The specialty drinks were a little pricy considering the small amount of alcohol in them. The drinks were tasty though. I think it is one of the most unique restaurants with a Mexican theme that you'll in Atlanta. It's second in my experience only to Agave. Apparently the place turns into a nightclub at 10, but we had other plans and could not stick around for the transformation. Despite its role after 10, the music wasn't overwhelming or irritating during our dining experience. Enjoy!

Well...the food experience was still good! My husband and I sat at the bar like we usually do and were surprised to see a new bartender and drink menu. The bartender introduced himself as VIP Bartender and new Sommelier (douche!) this guy was so full of himself. I commented on the wine list being different that what I remember from my last visit and he was quick to tell me that these are not his wine selections and that he will be making LOTS of changes. He said this in such a way that he seemed to be insulting the restaurant. Not something that management would probably want him doing with customers! I will go back for the tacos but plan to avoid the bar!!!!

Very welcome in sandy springs! Great laid back vibe and really good food. We went early but looks like it probably heats with music and dancing. Have the tres leches for desert, it was excellent!

I wish I could give this place zero stars. I had the same experience as previous reviewers. Ordered the calamari. They were out of calamari. Ordered queso dip with chorizo. They were out of chorizo. Ordered the jewban sandwich. They were out of fries and the substitute was a pitiful tiny ramekin of refried black beans. They actually had the tacos we ordered but they were mediocre at best. We were comped for the queso and sandwich, and I was given my 2nd margarita for free. The 2nd margarita tasted nothing like the first. No consistency. I'm not sure I accept the new chef excuse. The food should at least be there, right?? Do not come to this restaurant! This was the biggest disappointment for a long needed date night. We left and headed over to Pappasitos.

I would love to write a review, because the one time we went, the soft tacos and mixed drinks were wonderful, especially the Mojitos. Unfortunately, here we are on Cinco de Mayo and Moderna would be the perfect place to go, but neither their phone number nor website are working. If it's closed for a private party, let us know! :-(

Excellent food and service, wit ha nice ambience inside. The food and drinks are all made fresh - we had the guacamole for an app, carnitas and the blackened salmon - all were excellent. For drinks, the red sangria and a mango mojito - again both were very good. this is a great place to go on a date!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
