Great scene packed on a Friday evening. Definitely still one of the 'it' restaurants in Atlanta. Not to be missed. Check it out next time you want a lovely friday evening.

Went for Buckhead Restaurant Week. Both the service and the food was excellent! Great value as well. Enjoyed a starter of beef carpaccio, main of filet medallions, and a delicious chocolate hazelnut torte for dessert. Would definitely love to go back again.

We decided to try the Buckhead restaurant week prix fixe at $25.00 per head A nicely balanced menu with perfect portions perfectly executed, the service was warm and friendly, KR Steakbar is now on my list and I will surely be back soon.

Went last night. Loved the decor, atmosphere, service (Rodney) and food...Phenomenal! Tried oysters, meatballs, cheese balls, a couple of pastas and the hanger steak...Yum! We had Brussels sprouts and asparagus as side dishes...and dessert. I will return. I enjoyed everything.

My husband took me here for our Valentine's date. Everything about our evening was perfect. We arrived 30 minutes before our reservation for 9pm, and did not have any trouble finding two open seats at the bar while waiting on our table. The atmosphere was very lively, yet cozy. Where you can actually hear each other talk, but not your neighbor's conversation. KR offered a 4 course prix fixe Valentine Menu. An appetizer, pasta, meat, and dessert. We both went for the Arancini risotto, which my husband could eat several helpings of, it's so good. For the pasta we had the pappardelle and the Orchiette Lamb. The orecchiette is a must try! I could have had that as my meal. It was so delicious, and a very nice sized portion. We both ordered the filet, which was a perfect medium rare. And for dessert- Olive Oil Cake... Wow, perfect ending to my meal. I tried my husband's chocolate crostada, but I have to say I preferred the cake. Service was excellent. We even received a call from the restaurant a few days later to check on our experience. We are huge fans of Kevin Rathbun Steak, but this is a new favorite spot for us!

The set up of this place is pretty cool, and the food is fairly decent. But, the real reason i have to give KR Steakbar 4 stars is because the last time I was there with Mister Ninja and two of our friends, we were drunk out of our minds from day drinking and taking several fireball shots and tried to order mind erasers. Needless to say, this place is a little klassier than we are, and they do not serve mind erasers. Honestly, I don't remember the 4 tiny plates we had with our lemon drops, which is what we ultimately had instead of mind erasers. However, they didn't kick us out, and that is important. And, uber picked us up quickly in a white Escalade. Even though I accused the driver of being a scammer (never seen a white escalade uber), he graciously agreed to pick up jack the westie terrier and take us all to karaoke on my playstation 2 until the wee hours of the night. I know. This is supposed to be a review of this restaurant. I've eaten there sober a few times. The food is pretty mediocre; lots of salty meat. The atmosphere and location are nice. I think the average 3.5 stars is unfair, but the original Rathbuns in Inman Park is far better.

BEWARE if you are planning a group event at this place.....Horrible customer service with total failure to keep their committments. Jason, the "manager" set up a rehersel dinner event for me 3 months out. He told me he would hold the room until I called back with the credit card info from my in-laws. I told him it would be right away. He said if anyone happened to call in the mean time he would first call me before booking the room. This was on Thursday. On Sat my in laws called with the cc info. He was not there but they left a message. On Monday he returned the call to them and told them "another manager" booked another party and they had preference. He never called me as he indicated he would, nor did he ever call me to tell me...I got word from my in-laws. His response to me after I called him (in his best passive agressive "manager" tone). ....is there another night we can book your event?...no idiot, a rehersel dinner is the night before a wedding. We will take our thousands of dollars elsewhere. We see where you fit in the managerial chain there at Rathburn steaks....joke!

Dinner was wonderful and service even better! We started in the hidden speakeasy with drinks and cheese. The bartender, Steve, did a great job recommending our cheeses. For dinner my wife and I both selected the traditional Italian steakhouse dinner with pasta then steak. We had the garganelli which was very tasty with the spinach and pine nuts. The steaks are where the restaurant really showed its character. My shell steak was cooked perfectly, very tender. The mild horseradish and espresso glaze were a nice combo. My wife ordered the KC veal strip which was a lot more fatty than we expected. Once we discussed with our waitress, she asked if my wife would prefer something else. She selected the filet medallions which came out quickly, cooked to perfection, and very tender. We were also visited by the chef and manager who committed to make things right. Completely unnecessary was the dessert provided (chocolate budino - chocolate and caramel with sea salt) which we really enjoyed. To Kevin R., your team and restaurant did you proud. We've been to 3 of your restaurants now and can't wait to get to the 4th!

Went there last night. Valet guy I think was just kinda bummed the whole night. It wasn't very busy. No cheery hey, how's it going, first time here?, last name?, enjoy your dinner, etc. Just hey, how's it going and a dreary thanks when I gave him the key fob. I love Rathbun steak, dry aged porterhouse is maybe the best steak in ATL. Like Rathbun's as well. This is definitely his least impressive spot. Restaurant was average busy for a Wednesday night. I think the overall theme of the night was that the food was good/average but nothing was really great. Nothing wow-ed me. Sorry to sound cliche. Had the crostini 3 for $8. Got the ham, rapini and tomato/clam. All were decent but lacked any outstanding flavor. The rapini was probably the worst of the bunch. You expect more out of a place like this. Assistant waiter dude was the first to ask halfway through the meal if we wanted any bread. It was good though with a good olive oil/balsamic dipping plate. Had the mozzarella app. This was pretty decent. Came warm with tomato sauce and a balsamic drizzle combo. Had to get the testina, the head cheese, after the waiter told me it was amazingly flavorful. It came warm with a fried/breaded type exterior. Poached egg on top looked very sloppy. The head cheese itself was good but lacked big flavor. If anything, I am a tiny bit salt sensitive but most of the food seemed like it was undersalted. Got the bacon also. I wanted to try a whole bunch of stuff. It was a little disappointing as well. I get pork belly but I mean there were just some excessively large chunks of fat that were not very flavorful or smoked well at all. Short rib came in an odd white sauce with crimini mushrooms that I think were raw. Not that I mind that but the dish didn't really work well. Pappardelle was good. Needs more sauce though. Best dish of the night? The roasted fingerling potatoes! That's saying something. There were some nice crispy pan roasted parts which were really tasty. Well salted. Service was good. Tad bit unattentive but nothing problematic. People were nice. All in all, you really expect a lot more flavor coming out of this place. Stick with the main Rath or Rath Steak. As we left, valet dude asked "do you want me to back up your car, it's just right there" in a very sad voice. I couldn't help but laugh inside and hand him a decent tip regardless. Oh yeah, they have anchor christmas ale on tap. I got a pumpkin ale though. It was good.

Don't miss this new restaurant from Kevin Rathbun! To say the service was incredible is an understatement. Ben (our server) walked us through each portion of the menu, of which he was extremely knowledgeable! Best service maybe EVER imo! The food...what can I say? Meatballs...maybe only 1oz, but they're made from all the Prime grass fed steak trimmings used on the entrees! What's more...they were med-rare!!! WOW!! Pasta...i chose the Orecchiette with lamb neck. Rich, perfectly hand made pasta...cooked to perfection!! Side dishes...if u don't order 2 sides of the Brussels Sprouts...you are doing it WRONG! The wine list is brilliant with focus on half bottles and value! Personally I love starting the evening with a Negroni! Stick to the Italian wines! So much care was taken to select each of these wines! Truly some very special selections available! If u didn't read all of my review...know this...KR Steak is a fantastic, classy, restaurant that will NOT disappoint!

I went to KR SteakBar with a group of friends for a birthday dinner. I've dined at Rathbun Steak several times and have always enjoyed it and so I was really looking forward to trying this one as well. We started with some cocktails and everyone enjoyed them, sorry I can't recall which ones as I had beer. ;) From there we started with the Salumi Misit and several selections from the Piccoli Piatti which were all excellent. We tried the artichokes, arancini, carpaccio (exquisite), octopus (some said this was too smoky), soft shell crab and rosemary potatoes. For entrees several of us ordered the Shell Steak, a heart of NY Strip with shredded horseradish and an espresso demi glace. Without a doubt one of the best steaks I've ever had and the others that got it, or even tried it, agreed. One person in our party ordered the lamb chops and was served 3 perfectly cooked chops that were also some of the best I've tried. We also ordered several sides to share and really enjoyed the butter beans, which are fried. They reminded me of soy nuts in texture and had a certain nuttiness to them. I've never had anything like them before and they were very good. There were also a couple orders of asparagus and trumpet mushrooms passed around. We ended the meal with desserts and this was actually the one let down all night. 3 of us ordered the Affogato, which we were told was a house specialty. We all agreed that the cardamom donuts were mostly tasteless and the vanilla gelato was just OK. The couple people that ordered the cannoli (which is gluten-free) did say it was pretty good. One note on the food here, they are very generous with the *salt*. I thought everything was great and didn't think the salt was really overdone but it was generous enough to be very noticeable. For example the potatoes had a prominent crunch of coarse salt, keep this in mind if you're not big on salt. The service was excellent as well. Our head waiter was top notch and they had a team clearing plates, filling water glasses and folding napkins if you left the table. Really top notch service. Overall we had an excellent time and I will definitely return.

My parents took my wife and I here for our anniversary dinner. We had reservations for Saturday around 8:30 and after a 10 min wait, we were seated. We ordered a few apps, artichokes, risotto, beets and the octopus. The octopus and artichokes were a little overrated, but the risotto the table absolutely loved. We had the Porterhouse for toe, filet mignon and ravioli. Although we had to send our porterhouse back twice, it had incredible flavor. The filet was hands down the best choice of the night. It was even better than my (previous) favorite Filet in Atlanta at Hal's Steakhouse. The Brussels sprouts were also pretty good. I was not expecting this place to be a top choice for me, but was completely surprised. This is definitely my new favorite restaurant in town. Our server was Robin and she and the entire restaurant had incredible service. We even got a follow up call the next day to check on our dining experience - very impressive. This restaurant obviously values customer service and works hard to please. We will absolutely be back.

I guess I just love everything K. Rayburn's does. His food is current, lively and always taste fantastic. So here is why it gets 5 stars. The service for one was perfect but that's because the guy was leaving to be a Sommelier next week. While the appetizers ( I think we had all of them) were a little small for the price were really tasty especially the artichokes but then again I am an artichokaholic! The best part of the meal was the special Spinalis. They only serve 2 per night! It is the cut of the prime rib that is just above the layer of fat that is above the center cut. It has great marbilization and incredible flavor. IT was cooked absolutely perfectly and seasoned to perfection. Best of all it was butchered perfectly without any unnecessary fat on the outside. Who cares what it cost, get the Spinalis you won't be disappointed.

Sigh....hmmmm...I am a little baffled by my first experience at Rathbun's newest place. I have and continue to be a big follower of his two places in the Inman area so was awaiting an experience that differed but excited my senses. The location is in the peachtree hills area..nicely set and easy to get to. You walk in and it has a nice feel that is similar to the other locations. We ask to be seated in a booth by the bar. It is my husbands birthday so we ventured away from eating at the bar to sit side by side in a booth. So far so good but then it takes a u-turn as I am waiting to get an introduction from our waiter with a spill on the place....u know the basics this is how the menu works , my favorites, etc etc. I was ready and willing to spend several hundred to experience this new place to its fullest. We got nothing but a menu and an statement that it is pretty explanatory along w a drink menu on the corner...I barely got to ask before he walked away. He comes back and says "find anything you like" ...for real! Finally my husband asks for the sommelier since we could not get a clear response to a wine selection. I wanted something unique different...I know enough about wine to know the countries and years that the wine brings. However, after a little pressure he did recommend a nice wine in a half bottle. I love the option for the half bottle ..it was a slightly chilled red which I enjoy. After much probing we got the waiter to give us a few of his favorites..really was that so hard. Eating is the experience along with the flavor so I hope they get this implemented into this new location because that has is not what i expected from a Rathbun location. I can not lie though the food was delicious..flavored well...and presented well. I am sure I missed on many other great dishes because of the lack of support in the experience. The salads colorful and did not miss on any flavor combination..the steak perfectly cooked I will give it another shot at the bar and possibly re-review.

Great steak. whatever the outer ribeye thing was- maybe the best steak I've ever had. Salty pasta. LIke really salty...it didn't make sense. there was a sushi type egg small dish that was great, as are the sweet breads. Loud crumby music for guys that wear leather shoes and no socks and like that. Great wine. Great Service. still 4 stars because i don't go out to talk to Buckhead scenesters

Really surprised to hear that this place is expanding when the food is just not good..which surprises me because Rathbun steak off Kroc is probably the best steak in the east coast in my opinion

Kevin Rathburn knows steak - as evidenced by KR SteakBar. Dry aging steaks add so much complexity to a high-quality cut. It creates an ultra-tender, deep umami. The shell steak preparation of fresh horseradish shaved over the cut adds a useful zing. For appetizers, the octopus was had just enough char to give character.

I love anything branded KR, so I had high expectations. The food was good, wine was paired by our server nicely, and staff was friendly. Nowhere in comparison as it's amazing older sister, KR Steak, but it's a good addition in a great location. I would recommend for a night out, but expect a twist on traditional meats and just because the name says "steakbar" doesn't mean that there are steaks all over the menu.

Well, it's always fun - yet angsty - when you introduce your boyfriend to one of your best friends. Will she approve? Will he approve? Will I have to manage all the conversation? ?Etc etc . . .Fortunately, my friends and J are pretty similar types . . . So last night, I was excited and optimistic all would go well - my friend is a big eater and foodie like me (and she's a thin little thing because she works out all the time so she can eat hardy! I need to take notes!) and she suggested KR Steak Bar. Till my recent displacement, I lived right nearby, and J and I had talked about going since it opened, but hadn't yet. Note - we had to look up the address to make sure we knew where it was, but just so you know, it is just past ADAC in that part of the "shopping center" plaza. It was good! We started with the calamari - three notes on it- it is grilled (nice change) and it is REALLY spicy (too much for my taste) and a really small "bar" bite or whatever they call it (J ordered a second one, it was that small) - and then the ricotta spread, which was awesome. We sat at the bar, something both J and I and my friend and I enjoy regularly when we dine out, and our bartenders were great and very attentive. We got the hanger steak (two orders) and it was really good. Med rare - perfectly done. (Side note - this friend and I met over steak, so . . .) I like most meat products like this and was pleased. Cocktails were nice - my vodka rocks, his martini, her wine . . . overall, definitely a good first visit and a place to which I'd return!!

The food was okay, but it didn't come close to making up for the horrendous service. We waited 25 minutes for our desserts before the waiter decided to come over and apologize for the desserts not having arrived. At that point I just told him to cancel the order and bring us our bill. We will NOT be returning. KR Steakbar - you failed.

Ok. I've been back a few times and really love sitting at the bar and having smaller plates. Perhaps there is better atmosphere on this side of the room. It's easier to hear your partner and the services is really fast and friendly. Everything is still pricey, but worth it. When funds permit, I'm a regular. My favorite is the orrechiette and brussels sprout bruschetta with a crisp white wine. Delish!

I visited this KR Steakbar shortly after they opened and was thoroughly unimpressed and left very hungry because the portions all came on a saucer sized plate. Well, they have changed things around and this restaurant is now superb!! We went with friends and did the chefs tasting menu. We could not have been happier. We had octopus, pork belly, grilled romaine, 2 types of pasta, chicken, steak and scallops. Every bit of it was out of this world! The portions are now perfect. Props to Kevin Rathbun for yet again another outstanding Atlanta restaurant

I am surprised at the low-ish ratings by some others. The place looks great, has fun cocktails (Sophia is a twist on French75 and very nice), and everything we ate was top notch. And boy, did we eat: started with lightly fried artichokes with lemon (eat the lemon, it is too good to be just garnish), coppa and cacciatorini salumi, cheeses - Harbison (creamy goodness) and Blackberry Blue. All excellent and we cleaned our plates. For the main, I (who rarely eats more than a few bites of steak) had the ribeye and ate every bit of that 6 oz beauty. I like it medium - sue me - but it was still flawless. Hubby had the shell steak, which had a delicious espresso sauce. The kale side was crispy and tasty. I tasted our friend's trout and it was quite good - his wife enjoyed the pasta. 4 people, 4 desserts, right? All were great - Tartufo chocolate something with cherries, pine nut tart with rosewater gelato, smoked strawberries and Semi-Freddo. All perfection and like all courses, clean plates all around. Add to that sitting outside in their secluded patio on a lovely late Spring night with very good service by the lovely Julie and we had a wonderful evening.

Bring back the leather chairs! They make the bar really cozy. White tablecloths over patio furniture does not make sense when you look at the rest of the place. So we sat at the bar and Nick was great. Had a nice bottle of burgundy with what we think as the best food yet that we've had here. Orecchiette with lamb was so tasy and paired with a side of the mushrooms - perfect. Arancini with smoked mozzarella and the octopus were also very good. Pappardelle with pork and beef ragu was perfectly seasoned.

We have been to KR a number of times in the past and have praised it as one of our favorites. However, last night was unfortunately different. We went for a special occasion and even though the food was decent ( not great as in the past... the pecorino and pepper pasta was bland) the waiter was abysmal .. Rushes us then ignoring us then spilling the bottle of wine... mixing drinks for another table... KR must have been short handed but it doesn't take away feeling like I had the bum's rush!

Great atmosphere but several things surprised me: * tried to order a drink and bartender told me he was slammed and told me he had 10 drinks in front of me to make. Wow. * ordered the ribeye as well as 2 other people in our party and we all kind of looked at each other in disbelief at the ridiculously small portion of steak. I honestly thought it was an appetizer. Won't go back.

Went to KR steak bar for my birthday and it was amazing!!! It was a nice, romantic setting. They sat my boyfriend and I outside underneath the lanterns and candle lights. We ordered the meatballs as an appetizer and shared it and we both loved it. We ordered the Hanger Steak and it was very good it's only 6 oz so it's kinda small, it was enough for me but my boyfriend was still kinda hungry. We ordered the potatoes and spinach. The potatoes were ok but nothing special.. I'll probably try something else next time. The service was impeccable and the waiter was very attentive and went over the drink menu and dinner menu with us, he also made some great recommendations. I give this place 4 out of 5 stars only because of the portion size for men is sort of small and they took a little long to bring the food out and to being the check, but It was worth the wait. Great date night place. We will definitely be back oh and sit outside if you can!

Delicious! We had a great time and our server was excellent -- recommending some great plates to share. Tasty drinks as well from the bartender! Honestly, I don't even remember what all we got, since we ordered a lot of things. I do remember trying a tasty salad, steak, risotto, scallop, ravioli and dessert. Cool environment as well. Had a great girls night there. Would definitely recommend checking KR SteakBar out and trying a little of this and that.

Huge disappointment. The food was good, and they definitely have the cool ambiance down, but that's where it ends. At well over $100 per person, the food was 3-stars at best. When a tiny little steak (4oz?) is $30, and it's mediocre (and a chunk of meat is ALL you get, no sides) - I question why this place classifies itself a steakhouse. It definitely does NOT live up to the Rathbun reputation by any means on the quality of the meat. Our server was very nice, available, and friendly, but had no clue about the wines. Instad of calling over their wine expert to answer our questions, he came back and confirmed that the wine we were considering was good. That's all he said. No qualities or characteristics. Again, at WELL over $100 per person, I need a little more knowledge out of my server. We ordered two different bottles, and both were complete crap. The first one was not drinkable, a total disaster. Second one was still quite awful, but a tad bit better. Desserts were great. Sides and appetizers were good, very tasty. If you're just going for a tapas-like experience, this could be good - but don't expect much on the steak side.

A really great bar in a perfect location. I loved the atmosphere and the food is great for a bar. We sat at the bar with no reservation and stared longingly at the patio while enjoying a great cocktail, a wine or 2, a great charcuterie and cheese plate and then later we split a shellfish pasta dish. We were there for nearly 3 hours just chatting and snacking and enjoying the scene. It is a delightful although loud space. Next time, I'll make a reservation and sit on the patio.

Great Drinks, Great Service....Food was lacking. To start we had a reservation at 9. We showed up a bit early to sample some of the cocktails that had been mentioned on some of the foodie blogs. The bar service was great, he made several of the house specials that we (a group of 6) shared and sampled. All uniquely different with an interesting touch. Very pleased. We were seated around 9:15 and the place was ridiculously loud. I mean, there was no way to even HEAR our server. She literally had to come to each one of us and shout in our ear with the specials, recommendations and any information. DO NOT go hear if you are with friends with interesting things to say. This is a great place for those annoying friends of friends that you sometimes have to allow to attend. I had the mozzarella salad, sweatbreads and rib-eye. The salad was good, a little bitter and slightly on the plain side of flavortown. The sweatbreads were probably the most interesting dish I had all night but the portion was so small. 3 bites, not even enough for me to share with our table. And finally $26 bucks for a 4 oz rib-eye that was slightly over done. I believe they cut the center piece out of a rib-eye which completely cut out all the tenderness and flavor the the cut generally comes with. Disappointed by the king of steaks. Rathbun himself came over and spoke to us before the meal. Loved the guy, if the food matched is personality this place would be a hit like all the others he has opened. Sadly my 3 stars is how I left. I wouldn't tell you not to check it out yourself, but there are so many other GREAT places even with his name attached that are better choices.

Honestly one of the best meals in the city. Came for dinner at 6:30 (with a reservation) on a mid-April Saturday night. We were seated immediately and we're promptly greeted by our waitress, Tiffany. As it was our first time here, Tiffany recommended a few of the menu items and we obliged. First, we had the Artichokes with Dill and Pangrattato. These are delicious, flash-fired artichoke hearts and were a real treat. We then shared the Tagliatelle Nero Pasta with crab, green onion, and chili. This is an in-house pasta made with squid ink and it was delicious. For our entrees, my fiance had the Chicken with Calabrian chilis & vinegar. The chilis paired perfectly and the chicken was cooked to perfection and was accompanied by a delicious sauce. My entree was a special Steak selection that was a cut between a Ribeye and a Filet. As expected from a Kevin Rathbun restaurant steak, it was absolutely incredible. KR Steakbar also has an impressive bar and wine list. I highly recommend considering KR Steakbar for a truly memorable meal in Atlanta.

Ben Is The Best Server in Atlanta (and - dare I say it - the best thing about KR Steakbar?) I am a huge Kevin Rathbun fan. I mean, seriously - we're so fortunate to have him here in Atlanta. Every time friends or family visit we go straight to Kevin Rathbun Steak. ....which is why it PAINS ME to give KR Steakbar only 2 stars. The food was, well ... t o t a l l y d i s a p p o i n t i n g. :(( I had a salad that was completely blah. Almost couldn't eat it. The most I remember about it were the nuts. My friend had the prawn appetizer ... Again, a disappointment. It's served slightly undercooked, (from a beer broth maybe?) (with head and tail attached). We ordered the porterhouse steak (around $70) and it was the smallest porterhouse I'd ever seen. And fatty. The pickled vegetables? Ugh :(. (Chef Rathbun, if you're out there, it's killing me to write this!) Having said that, I have two raves: 1) Ben the server. Chef Rathbun needs to truly recognize him for selling the food in a mouth-watering way. Ben is a superstar and so knowledgeable ... And 2) the almond cake. It was wonderfully delicious. I would go so far as to say, the best I ever had. Please do something about the food. Please?

Very, very disappointing experience. My wife and I made reservations here for our 21st anniversary and were really looking forward to out night out here. Dined here on 11/9/13. Saw KR standing outside when we got there, but never saw him inside the restaurant. Our first problem was the seating. They put us at a table for two next to the window. No problem until they seat the table next to us--literally next to us. we were all 4 practically sharing a table. The new couple coming to sit was so uncomfortably close that they asked the hostess to move but was told all the small tables were close. Our next issue was the food itself. We each did the $55.00 chefs tasting menu since we wanted a variety of tastes. It was explained to us by the waitress that she would ask what tastes we liked and then bring out a variety of dishes. We told her what we liked, but what we got was not what we asked for. We let her know we liked seafood, and we got black squid ink pasta with squid chunks. Not exactly our idea of seafood, and not edible--we sent it back. I'm a very adventurous eater and a foodie, but this was just bad. Also, funny that the name of the restaurant is KR Steakbar, yet we didn't get any steak at all. Overall we felt like the quality of the food and items on the tasting menu were not in line with the cost. We also had a bad experience with the swordfish belly. Really--the spongy, fatty belly as an entree? What an odd, disturbing texture and very, very salty. The final insult was that the waitress admitted that she forgot to pick up "the paper" when they sat us and didn't know it was our anniversary until we were walking out the door. We will not be returning and feel that this was the worst $160.00 I have ever spent on a meal, and I've traveled all over the world. A few days after our visit, I received a VM and an email asking us for our feedback on our visit. I left replies on both on our experience, but as of date of this review, have not heard back from anyone.

KR proved to be the perfect experience for our anniversary dinner. It started with being seated immediately upon our arrival a few minutes before the time of our reservations on a Saturday night. The gentleman seating us headed to the assigned table, but inquired if we'd rather have a booth that was open nearby -- which we did and he was happy to accommodate. The server, Ava, promptly arrived and provided excellent service and attention throughout the evening, making several recommendations and chatting about aspects of the restaurant, menu and selection options but not too chatty, and very informative. Then the highlight of the evening - the food - everything was cooked perfectly. Each course arrived very timely one after the other and the taste of each was off the chart - especially my husband's steak. He had their special rib eye cut and it was amazing. It was seasoned and grilled perfectly and we both agreed, was the best steak we've ever had. Ava's wine recommendation was the perfect match for our meal and when we return, we'll ask for her. We highly recommend KR and will be back for future special occasions.

We made a reservation for a large party a few days prior to our meal. The staff could not have been more accommodating and gracious. Service was impeccable as was the food. We had to add three people last minute and the staff made it happen. Everything from the appetizers, to the pasta, salads, steak and desserts was divine. I can't believe they served 22 people so smoothly and easily. The patio is beautiful! Highly recommend this restaurant.

Very good food and atmosphere, but if you are very hungry and do not want to spend a lot of money this is not the place to go, very expensive for 6oz portions of meat. The appetizers are great, the meatballs are amazing! The porterhouse for two is probably the best thing on the menu. While the short rib is very good just very small for someone who is very hungry and still growing! Loud inside, but relaxing outside.

Went to the New Years Eve fixed price menu night. Never fair to review on that alone, so will update this if we go again. Menu had good choices, but entrees were too salty. The serving sizes could be smaller. Good wine list. Our waiter wasn't great at guiding us on menu or wine list. I would still try it if you are looking at a place to go.

Just Ok, Left Hungry My wife and I dined here with friends for a birthday party. We thoroughly enjoy Rathbun's and had high hopes for KR Steak Bar. While the food was good, the portions were small, despite ordering several small plates. It was difficult to see inside the restaurant and while the atmosphere was interesting, it felt like they were trying too hard to be cool. Bottom line: definitely not a bad place, just not one of my favorites

I went to KR for a business meeting and it was an excellent choice. The filet was done perfectly and the service was friendly and helpful. I will definitely return.

I am a big fan of Kevin Rathbun restaurants but his newest was a miss for me. The service was poor and I wasn't impressed with the menu selection. I had high hopes but was sadly disappointed. I will stick to Rathbun Steak and Rathbuns.

We love the other Kevin Rathbun restaurants and decided to try this place for our anniversary. In fairness I Didn't know much about the restaurant. However having the term "steak" in the name implied, At least to us, that this was a steak restaurant. It was more of an Italian restaurant. This wasn't an issue but it wasn't was I was expecting. For our appetizer, we had the octopus which was extremely flavorful. The octopus was grilled and the dish had potatoes, white grapes, toasted pistachios and other ingredients. We really enjoyed that. Our next meal was the clam linguine. Well that was our last favorite. There were only 4 clams, and the white wine sauce was too light. It was really bland. For our main entree, we had the lamb chops. Those were delicious. The music was a bit loud. It actually seemed to get louder over the course of the evening which meant folks were talking louder too. So it's a noisy spot. Finally, my husband ordered a cocktail of Ketal One vodka and cranberry juice. The waitress should have warned him. The restaurant prides themselves in using fresh, local ingredients. However fresh squeezed cranberry juice is bitter. The drink was undrinkable. Our waitress did offer to bring us a different drink. However we kept it and attempted to sweeten it with simple syrup. Didn't work. Overall we had a good experience. Will probably go back.

RIDICULOUS!!! Good service and good food but beware of them adding more tip than what you've added to your tab!!! Called to speak to manager after $30 more had been added to my cc and he pulled the tab... I was correct. The manager from the start said he'd ensure they made it right. Only deducted the overcharged tip from my cc... really shouldn't have to worry about issues like this from a high end restaurant. IMO it wasn't made right! Won't go back!

AWESOME. We had an amazing time at KR SteakBar on Saturday night. As everyone says, the atmosphere is very cool. While "trendy," it still feels like a hidden away locals-only place. We sat in a booth near the kitchen, and - while it was a bit hot - it was very cool seeing all of the action. Kevin Rathbun was mingling with his guests, and even stopped for a picture at our table. He was extremely nice and gracious. THE FOOD!!! The food was truly exceptional. We had ravioli, lamb, and filet, and it was all some of the best I've had. The lamb was definitely the best I've had (highly recommend). Even the bread was delicious. Our server was great (she was very experienced, knew all about the menu, the restaurant, and Kevin himself). NEW FAVORITE!!!

I would call this a 4-star place (Baccanalia being 5) but I'm giving it 5 to even out the statistics--3.5 is so unfair. We discovered this hidden gem due to serendipitous circumstances. It doesn't look like much from Peachtree Hills Ave, but the food--especially hand-cut pastas--are amazing. Three visits have all yielded equally delicious and creative, unusual flavor combinations. Thanks especially to Nick, Jillian, Valerie, and Javier for incredible, way-ready-for-prime-time service. We'll be coming back as often as possible.

We loved our visit to KR Steakbar. We stopped by on Saturday night. The service was attentive and smooth, particularly for the first weekend of operation. Our server was knowledgeable and helpful, although we had to laugh when she prefaced some of her answers with, "I usually tell people that ...,' given that the restaurant has been opened less than a week. Really, though, she was lovely. The ambiance and décor are great. The place has a nice vibe and is elegant without being stuffy. We did not get to check out the bar, but it looked fun, as did the communal tables. We tried a couple of the signature cocktails. There were some good ones (my wife had the Sophia and I had the Toronto). We both liked our cocktails. The food was great and we left stuffed. There were four of us, and the server suggested we order a few items from each of the sections and share. That was a sound plan. We tried two items in the Salumi, two appetizers, two sides, three pastas, and two steak dishes. There was nothing we did not like. From the Salumi, we loved them both. We had had the capicola and the cacciatorin, the latter was made with boar and was my favorite of the two. The appetizers were very good. We tried the pork shoulder and the sardines. The pork shoulder was extremely tender and flavorful. The combination of the beans and onions with the pork was very nice. If you like sardines, you'll love this one. It is grilled whole and served with onions and fennel. In a word, Yum! Next came the pastas. We did the ox tail ravioli, the spaghetti, and the tagliatelle nero. All were very good and cooked perfectly al dente. The spaghetti was one of the table's favorite dishes. It had a fabulous uncured Italian bacon with it. For me, the ox tail ravioli was the star of the pastas. Next came the sides and meats. We tried the polenta and the rapini. The polenta was great, and the rapini was excellent. They actually went very well together, too. For the meats, we tried the lamb and the rib eye. The rib eye was extremely tender and very flavorful. The lamb was delicious. It was served with onions and balsamic glaze. I nearly licked the plate. Okay, I licked the plate. We capped off the meal with desserts. All were pretty good. The best was the olive oil cake with the pistachio gelato.

The Cliff Notes version......See and be seen place, New, hip, great drinks and good food although I think they are trying way to hard to drag us Good-Ol boys into the chic New Buckhead. Go for the scene have a drink and get out of there

Great place - staff, food, ambiance all were solid. We had artichokes , lamb tartar, and Nduja sausage for starters. We then had the papparadelle, scallops, and Shell Steak. Everything was really good. Not sure where other reviewers are getting their "too salty" reviews. We really liked everything.

Finally had the chance to get by here a wek ago and have to say that we thik this is Kevin's best restaurant (the other two are pretty darn good). Everything, from the food to the service was perfection, great job! We have reservations for a return engagement Saturday :-)

We went in last night with high expectations based on our experience at Kevin's other Atlanta restaurants but left not impressed. There were some very good things about the restaurant that we liked, atmosphere, service, interesting wine list. The things that we didn't like were the two seafood selections that were brought to us as part of the Chef's choice five course menu, the razor clams had an off smell to them and they were very gritty, and the worst was the swordfish main dish, I can only describe the first bite as a hot, mushy, foul tasting mess! When the floor manager came to inquire about how everything was we both told her about our bad experience with the fish and she immediately apologized and took the dish back to the kitchen, she came back and stated that Chef(not Kevin) said that it was the belly of the swordfish and that it was normal for it to have this consistency and taste? Sorry but I understand the whole "belly" concept being more fatty but this was just bad! She offered very kindly to have the Chef fix us something else but we declined, once you've bitten into a bad piece of fish it tends to spoil your appetite. They also offered to give us an extra dessert which was very nice of them but we were done by then. As most of us do, we work hard for our money and to spend $225 on a meal that didn't meet the high standards that you know that Kevin is capable of is a bit disappointing.

I was here with a few friends a week or two ago. This place is NOT a steakhouse! It's mostly Italian pasta dishes and appetizers with few choices of steak on menu. With that said, it's too loud to be a "fine dining" restaurant. It's definitely not friendly for older customers and children, so not family friendly. I mean, there are loud drunken people around for Christ's sake! "Somewhat" accommodating hostesses (the one checking us in was extremely vague regarding our waiting time) and our server barely had any wine knowledge. The pasta we had were not fully cooked and the appetizers were of meager portions. Seriously, the server told me that the dishes were meant to be shared. But how do you share 3 tiny pieces of meat with 4 people? With the price I am paying for the food, I expected everything to be more...sophisticated? I recommend this place to anyone who can stand very loud noise levels when they eat. My advice? Not worth the trouble of waiting for your table or worth the money.

I'm sitting on the line at 2 or 3 stars but will round up because ambiance and service were top notch. I came here for a business dinner with several others and ordered a fair number of items off of the menu. I had to laugh when the plates came out sized like tapas with sticker prices that should have been paired up with a normal serving. And not an American supersized normal, but normal for a nice restaurant. Head to the other two KR restaurants and you'll get a much larger quantity of the same great food without getting soaked. And this is coming from a patron that didn't even have to pay the tab the first time.

Rathbun's is one of my favorite restaurants so I thought I'd give this a try. I ended up just popping in by myself so I just ate at the bar, and it was a really nice experience. I kept it simple enjoyed the ribeye and a glass of red. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was cozy yet modern. Bringing my boyfriend next time because this would be great for a date night. Great patio, too!

The food was fine- not outstanding. The dish we most wanted was sold out at 7:30pm! Our major problem was the bill. It was $91.00 and we put 2 credit cards on it. The waiter came back and each bill was $55. We asked if the tip was included and he said no, that the "computer" made a mistake. He then brought a correct bill, but nothing to show he had credited back the first one. if we hadn't checked we would have given him a 40% tip!

First time at this great restaurant. Great group restaurant or date night! Noise volume is medium. The bartender Blake knew his spirits for sure. He was knowledgable, attentive and engaging with conversation. In fact I was very impressed being I am a former bartender. This guy is top notch! Our server was good. He was knowledgeable of the menu and tried to sell my date and me 6-8 appetizers/ all small plates for starters. We LOVE food and I mean LOVE however in moderation my friends. All of the plates we saw coming thru to the dining area were relatively small and great to share for 2 or with a group the 6-8 small plates would be perfect. We shared the amazing arugula peach salad and octopus. Both were outstanding and perfect to share. I had the "Shell Steak" AKA: NY Strip and if I were to guess I would say the portion size was slightly under 5oz. My date had the filet which was also a smaller size and it was prepared perfectly. We are thrilled with Kevin Rathbuns KR Steakbar! Can't wait to return! We will try desert next time! Can't wait! Well done!

The low down - pricey for what you get. Delicious food, small portions, creative cocktails, impressive wine list, very loud and casual ambience (too loud to be romantic), trendy chic farmhouse decor, be prepared to spend at the very least $50+ per person, perfect if you want to try creative tapas sized italian/steakhouse cuisine surrounded by a middle-aged local Buckhead crowd (not the overly done up/showy types but the tortoise shell glasses types). Valet or self-park at end of lot.

We have been big fans of the original Rathbun's since it opened many years ago. KR Steak Bar is Chef Kevin Rathbun's newest venture, and he could be seen all over the dining room and kitchen when we dined on March 23, 2013. I think for good reason, as the place is just getting going and there is much left to do. We had eight different menu items, liked (not loved) four, didn't like the other four, including a tuna collar appetizer that was just a mess, with little meat, but nice toppings. Good tap beer selection. Pastry Chef and Co-Owner Kirk Parks was also there and indeed the desserts were great, as they always are. I'd say give this place some time to get settled in and then try it. If you must go now, my advice is first, do not let them oversell you on food. Three courses is plenty (app, entrée, dessert). You can always add something. Also suggest stick to only the pastas and steaks for now as those were good. Finally, this place is beyond loud, so if conversation is what you want, this isn't the spot.

Everyone loves Kevin Rathbun (including me) he is a talented chef, and a nice guy who deserves all his success. I had the privilege of dining at his new concept KR Steakbar on opening night. I am not going to nit pick service issues (although there weren't too many) as it was opening night and it would be unfair to do so. I can't really complain too much about the food itself as I feel it was cooked and served as intended, but this is really where I must offer my opinion: The general concept of this restaurant is flawed. Billed as an Italian and Steak concept that features a menu of all small plates. In fact all the dishes are even served on the same oval shaped small plates. It became a running joke at our table as the "tapas" arrived. The presentation was boring, and laughable. For example small plate pasta dishes arrive all limp and lonely on these small oval plates. Pasta should be in a bowl. We sampled the linguini with clam sauce. The flavor was okay with a simple olive oil and garlic preparation but the dish begged for more sauce as it was very dry. Minor complaint we were not offered grated cheese, but again it was opening night. There was no sauce left to dunk bread in - half the fun of a dish like this, then again it was on a plate and may have dripped off. We also tried the fried artichokes, the same oval plate arrived with six little sections of cut in quarters artichoke hearts, with fried lemon. The dish begged for an aioli to dip the chokes in. The salumi offerings are high quality but the presentation of lonely meat slices scattered on those darn small oval plates is laughable. Ecco and a several other places in town have way better meat plates (and where is the cheese here?). Rathbun mastered the art of cooking steak at his flagship steakhouse in town, and the technique carries over here. We had the eye of ribeye and it was perfectly cooked and charred. We even were able to cut it using our butter knives as no steak knives were offered. Too bad it was a miniscule 6oz. portion. Same goes for the sides, also served on the same oval plates. All the portions here are tiny and barely enough to share. The prices are quite expensive for these limited portion sizes. I think the Buckhead crowd would like a more traditional menu set-up here with appetizers and entree size plates of food. They can afford it. Desserts were good including a wonderful chocolate hazelnut pudding, a shame it was served in an espresso cup - is Rathbun trying to put us all on calorie restriction? The name KR Steakbar seems to evoke a modern steakhouse, but as it stands now is more like a weird copy of Ecco in Midtown with some steaks thrown in for good measure. I'm sort of left scratching my head. I am curious to see how KR Steakbar evolves to meet demand. As it stands now, this place is very underwhelming.

KR Steak Bar is my new favorite spot. First- do not listen to any negative reviews. Regarding prices- the people complaining that they're too high should seek out a different type of establishment- Rathbuns restaurants are upscale spots with the highest quality ingredients- and- obviously, a world class chef at the helm. KRs price point is what anyone familiar with upscale dining would expect. We went on the 10th and had a party of 12- it was my birthday, and they made me feel like a complete princess! Our Server, Valerie, was outstanding!!! When my boyfriend brought flowers, they RAN to get a vase- and let me take it home! Drinks were mixed well and fast to arrive. Now the food. Eye of the ribeye- SO good, done simply with some greens on top. One of the best tasting steaks I've had. The pork pâté- it was mixed with some magical thing- I don't know what it was but I devoured it. A slow braised pork shoulder- tender, SO much flavor and the sauce was killer. Squid ink spaghetti- so good, pasta was perfectly al dente and tasted like the sea. Sun chokes- roasted- sweet and amazing. Rathbun is a master at seasoning things properly- everything he serves is SO flavorful! Everyone at our table was oohing and ahhing with every plate! For tapas, I thought the portions were large! The chef himself came out and wished me a happy birthday- the highlight of an absolutely perfect evening . Foodies-get to this amazing restaurant as soon as you can!!

I have been twice now since the opening and every time has been outstanding! The pastas are perfectly done, and the pâté is out of this world! The service is spot on as I would expect with any one of rathbun's restaurants. The scallops were great, the porchetta was great, the steaks were seasoned and cooked perfectly!

The carnivore in me wanted to love this place but the taste buds in me vetoed that default position to a degree. I wasn't unhappy with the experience but they definitely missed the mark on a couple issues. The service and facility were exceptional. Our waitress was helpful with the menu and very pleasant. She was a extremely soft spoken - to the point where my dining buddy asked me I was able to hear everything - but she was knowledgeable and made some very nice suggestions for us. She was also attentive without being intrusive which is my typical experience at a Rathbun venue - so kudos to the staff trainers on that issue - it always makes the experience better when you have good wait staff. We opted for the outdoor patio which was a great place to have a good meal. I saw some comments about the music and sound levels in the restaurant but I really didn't find that distracting while I was waiting at the bar or while eating outside. We decided to opt for a couple small dishes to share and then go it alone for the main course and dessert. The small dishes were pretty successful - although you should know that the menu online differs slightly from the current menu. We went with three items: grilled octopus, grilled bacon, and one of the Charcuterie selections. All three were excellent. The grilled octopus was tender and well-seasoned. It is an old favorite of mine but I typically had it ceviche style so the grilled version was new for me. Count me a fan!! The grilled bacon was very tasty. It was seasons with olives and calabrese peppers so it had a nice bite and the portion was perfect for 2 people. The charcuterie was fine but a bit lost in the mix with the other two exception options. For the main we both went with tri tips and shared the rosemary garlic potatoes. As I said, the online menu is out of date so the tri tips were actually served with asparagus and mushrooms rather than radishes. I note this because frankly the asparagus was the best thing one that plate - an option shared by both of us. While the trip tip was cooked and seasoned well, it was a tough piece of meat and very chewy. I have definitely had better products elsewhere including Rathbun Steak. My experience was a shared one as my dining companion also found his tri tip steak underwhelming. The asparagus on the other hand was amazing. I often here food critics describe food as "popping in your mouth" and this was truly the best example of this phenomena I have had in a dining experience. The asparagus was prepared with lemon it was amazing. We both tried it at the same time - not planned just happenstance - and both had the same reaction. It didn't quite make up for the disappointing steak but it did make the main a little more enjoyable. We also opted to share the rosemary garlic potatoes which were underwhelming. When you order something with "rosemary garlic" in the mix you expect some good flavor but I suspect the seasoning was lost in the deep fried preparation. The potatoes were crispy but bland. For dessert I went for olive oil cake with pistachio gelato. Again, my Sicilian roots drove me to something with olive oil in the name. I was a bit apprehensive because my previous experience with Rathbun's desserts has been underwhelming at best. In this case, I was pleasantly surprised with the quality. The cake was moist and very tasty and the gelato had a silky texture to it that was phenomenal. It was a nice way to end the meal. Finally, I do want to offer some kudos to Mr. Rathbun on the pricing. I found the prices reasonable which is not always the case when dining at restaurants run by celebrity chefs. I wanted to rave about KR SteakBar but I think the jury is still out on this one. While the experience was mixed, there were plenty of good things to warrant a return visit in the future.

Confused by the bad reviews because our experience was top notch. We are frequent diners at some of Atlanta's best restaurants and KR Steakbar can easily hold a place among them. Are the portions huge? No. Steaks are 4-6 oz cuts but are prepared superbly. This size of cut, though, IS a normal sized portion in the rest of the world. Only in the land of the oversized everything, USA, would someone consider the portion sizes unacceptable. However, the small portions also carry a small price tag. My tri-tips were $18 and my husband's cut was $19, I think. The portion of potatoes we had which were garnished with roasted garlic and parmesan cheese were plenty for 2 people and delicious! The appetizer course again was plenty of food. We had the lamb sausage (yummy), the bone marrow (our first time and it was very good), and the lemony artichokes (divine- make sure to eat the lemon, too). None of the first course was over $9 each. We shared the pasta bolognese which was $15 and was a rich portion of about 1 cup of pasta. Remember, these are plates MEANT for sharing. We finished off with 2 desserts which were $6.50 each. I had the olive oil cake (amazing) and my husband had the chocolate mousey offering which he liked as well. We did not have any wine or alcohol and our bill was exactly $100. Whoever said each person would be OVER $100 must either drink A LOT of alcohol or eat WAY more food than they should. We had a great table right by the kitchen and it was interesting to watch the staff and chef working. The restaurant was a little loud, but it didn't really bother me. I had no trouble hearing our waiter or talking to my husband. Please don't be scared off by the bad reviews like I almost was. This place is fabulous and if you think you want to go, you should!

Walk past the kitchen window as you walk toward the front. Stop for a minute and take a peek at the pastry team at work and beyond them the kitchen staff working magic at full tilt. Friendliest service in town - from the hostess desk, bar, servers, kitchen staff, chef and manager -- they all make the rounds to ensure you are having a delicious experience. Two visits down, I eating my way through/around the menu. Some highlights and a word of advise: WoA: leave room for dessert. Seriously, these morsels are made for sharing and enjoying. Suggestion: affagato, espresso, vanilla bean ice cream, pinola Think of this as an ice cream (homemade) float with espresso. Heaven on a spoon. Don't miss the artichoke. Make sure you eat it with a piece of the lemon. YUM! Tri-Tip - delicious. The hangar steak is wonderful. The tri-tip will leave you planning your next visit. Make a reservation and enjoy the experience.

This is the first time I have ever posted a restaurant review in my life but feel compelled to share our experience. Walking in we were so excited, as the place was crowded and the ambience seemed fantastic. Service was good but no question the worst steak my husband and I and our friends have ever had. There was an overwhelming taste of either propane or lighter fluid. I thought it was me, but after a few bites I asked others in our group of 12 how their meat tasted. We all were experiencing the same thing. Table mates that ordered pasta etc were happy, Brussel sprouts were amazing. None of us complained to the manager as it can feel like the goal is a comped check. Not the case here. Just completely and overwhelmingly disappointed. Sadly, as the atmosphere was great, we might return for cocktails but not for food.

Very cool atmosphere, great service, and delicious food! It's within an industrial area but what a great find! We were seated next to the kitchen so it was in a crowded, busy section. My friend and I were bumped many times. FOOD: The menu is a little confusing but our server was great at explaining it. Since I don't prefer cheese and don't eat meat, I had to order all on my own. My friends shared the courses, which is what you're supposed to do. Each course(antipasti, piccoli piatti, pasta, and contorni) is like small plates. The main course(terra e mare) is your own entree. I didn't get an antipasti to start. I started with Calamari which is lightly breaded calamari with fennel, green onion, aioli sauce for dipping. It was light and very tasty with the sauce. I had the Orecchiette pasta which is caramelized onion, pinenuts, and ricotta, but I asked for it without the cheese. The thick gnocchi-like pasta had a mild taste. For my entree, I had the Whole Redfish which is a whole fish with head and tail with blue lake beans and bagna cauda(fried onions). It was a massive dish definitely enough to share but I was the only one eating fish so I had a lot of leftovers. For the table, we got Potatoes and Brussel sprout sides. The potatoes are finger link potatoes with rosemary and garlic. The brussel sprouts with calabrian chili and lemon were so delicious! For dessert, we got the Olive Oil Cake with salted cream and candied marconas, and the Ricotta Fritters with apple butter and cider poached apples. The moist cake with the cream and nuts were a great combination. The fried fritters were lightly sweetened and delicious!

My honey took me to this place for my birthday, and it was an absolutely fabulous experience. The food is phenomenal, the service is very friendly and you can't beat the location. I enjoyed every minute of it. The server did a great job of pairing our entire meal from the appetizer, soup, salad, entrée, dessert and even the right bottle of wine. Overall it was a great experience.

Let me start with DRINKS! I had the most amazing "lemon-drop" martini here last evening. At the urging of an older lady who was raving about it, I ordered this cocktail, even though I stay away from sweet drinks. Yes, I was willing to go into diabetic shock just so I could spend some extra time looking at Blake, the bartender! Let me tell you that Blake makes the sugary rim mix extremely enticing by adding a spice to the sugar mix, one nobody would think of! I won't give out the details but you MUST come here to try this. And just as much as you will get lip candy when you sip on this cocktail, you are sure to get "eye-candy" too, because Blake insanely good looking! I repeat: INSANELY! I wish I was 15 years and lbs younger~! (Back off, he is my future ex-husband) FOOD: Please, if you want to eat like an animal, don't step in here, go to Rathbuns' steakhouse. This is a tapas styled set up and is best to dine here if you want to have a melee of flavors and you are willing to eat like a Spaniard. Yes you can get full from tapas, you just have to understand how to approach this style. I had a bite here about 2 months earlier, mainly, the octopus. On this visit I enjoyed every bite that was delivered via the Chef's selection choice. The octopus was my #1,2,and 3! Of course, all the meats/steaks were magical and delicious. PATIO It is a beautiful setting! I did not dine outside as I was unaware. It is hidden a bit. I did find out they allow small dogs within the outdoor setting. They have lanterns and just a relaxed quiet set up. I live 2 miles from the Rathbuns/Krog Bar, but I will drive to this location just to get that Martini! Ahhh, I will name it Blaketini. I think I hit on that man a bit too hard. Whatever...you only live once.

I'm going to keep this simple. Kevin Rathbun has a tendency to go heavy on the salt in my opinion. The polenta, the one dish we actually ordered an extra side of, was WAY TOO salty. Ruined! Everything else was just fine food wise. On a side note, they could tame down the rave music.

My boyfriend and I had a lovely date over the weekend. The cocktails were fresh and delicious. Tried a little bit of everything from the menu and devoured all of it! The service was impeccable. The server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. He gave us great recommendations! I also really enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant. The decor, lighting, music, was perfect. We felt very welcomed during our experience and can't wait to go back!

Don't believe the gripe! I was prepared to be thoroughly disappointed after reading all the other reviews, but I should've known better - this is Kevin Rathbun we're talking about after all. The man can do no wrong. Maybe going into it with the expectations of the smallest, most expensive plates you'll ever eat in the loudest restaurant you'll ever experience set the bar pretty low, but I loved this place. We went on a Saturday night and it was packed. Loved the location and the atmosphere. Now, on to the important stuff - the food! The bread that they bring out to start is AMAZING! The softest, freshest sourdough that is sprinkled with salt on the crust. They make it in-house and I challenge you to have just one piece. Salumi course: we had the pepperoni and the nduja. The nduja is a spreadable sausage. Both were very good. Appetizers: we had the buffalo mozzarella and pork shoulder. The mozzarella was really good. It was drizzled with balsamic and perfect with the aforementioned bread. The pork shoulder came with whole jalapenos and was just ok. Our friends got the lettuces and it appeared to be nothing more than very lightly dressed lettuce. Pasta: we had the pappardelle bolognese and the farina arsa orecchiette. I thought the orecchiette was the winner here but both were really very good. The portion sizes on both of these were more than adequate. It wouldn't be an entrée size meal but paired with one of their main course selections its more than enough for one person. Since my husband and I were sharing we got two pasta and two main dishes and it was plenty. Entrée: we had the hanger steak, which has an awesome char on the outside and was of course cooked to perfection. We also had the eye of ribeye which was to die for! We also tried the lamb chops, which our friends got that were also very good. All in all, it was a fabulous meal in a great space. Of course, it doesn't hurt when Rathbun himself is walking through the dining room, chatting with every table. Does this man ever take a day off?! Haters gonna hate. Try it for yourself - you will be glad you did!

Awesome service and atmosphere. Honestly though, the food was so so. I love Kevin Rathbun Steak, but Steak Bar just didnt meet expectations. Dishes are small, and to be enjoyed tapas style. So people coming here should not complain about price and quantity, it's a KR place for goodness sake. Short rib: ok, BLT's is better Mushrooms with egg: exactly what it says it is, some sauteed shrooms with an egg. Pasta: fresh handmade noodles, can't go wrong here Skirt and hanger steaks: nice but nothing special, skirt was extremely salty Lightly fried chicken livers: these are f*cking delicious, A+ Meatballs: weird, too much thyme Overall, it was a good but underwhelming experience.

Sorry for my delay in writing this review but I remember the place well. I went here with my Aunt and we both love Rathbun's other establishments. This one is off to a rough start though. The waitress didn't know the menu and could not make informed recommendations. Additionally, the small plates didn't seem worth it. At $28 for the hangar steak might as well have been at Rathbun's Steak House and gotten the ribeye for slightly more. The atmosphere and bar are all very hip and the decor is outstanding. The menu from pricing to theme and the staff (at least the one we had) need work to make this unique small plates venue work.

We have been to KR Steakbar when it was relatively new and had a disappointing experience. We just went back last Thursday and it was an entirely different place. We ended up ordering the chef's tasting menu. Everything we tried was exceptional, very flavorful and right on. Certainly I would recommend it..

Complete redemption. I have been asked to give KR another try. I did, as you know, come on opening night and they may have run into a few hiccups. Today I am feasting on the Chef's choice. It. Is. Fantastic! Cured meats to start, two appetizers to awaken the palate and then it's on, beautiful pesto pasta, filet cooked to perfection, octopus! Yes, octopus people!!! It's ridiculous! The kitchen is firing on all cylinders and all kinks have been thoroughly ironed out! Enjoy and indulge my friends!

What an amazing experience! I went there with my husband and loved it! Dinner was delicious! Will definitely come back. I think the lights were too dim and you could not read the menu as easy, but other than that, everything was perfect.

This has become one of our very favorite restaurants in Atlanta -- and we eat out a lot. We love the small plates, the dishes are creative and beautifully seasoned and the service is outstanding. The shell steak with expresso and horseradish rub is my top pick, but I also love the octopus, the artichoke hearts, the mushrooms and other sides. We will go back again and again. Reva E, Atlanta

Everything was great here except for the steak. The atmosphere was nice, service was good, appetizers and sides were great, but I made the mistake of ordering veal which I'm not really a fan of, and my wife's fillet was covered in fennel, which breaks the cardinal rule of steak...don't put junk on it. I wanted the ribeye, but couldn't get myself to spend $65 for it. I think it's time to rethink the steak menu here people!

Great dinner as always last night. Mask for Nick at the bar. Their cocktails are well balanced and very tasty. The food is great and the atomosphere are very appealing. There is also a cool Speakeasy in the back on the weekends.

Lovely Restaurant Week dinner, with wonderful service. Here's what I had...all good and delicious: Capaccio-Parmigiano, Micro Greens, Black Pepper Fettuccini-Short Rib, Arugula, Pecorino Tiramisu-Espresso Mascarpone & Cocoa Wear your best and strut down the catwalk...the sidewalk that leads to the front entrance is lined with windows, and is excellent for people watching. I found myself checking out people's shoes, dresses, etc.

Great atmosphere, but food was average at best. Steak was not up to par; told the waiter, who did not even offer an apology. Will not be recommending and will not be coming back, sadly, as the setting is great.

My lovely bride and I had our Valentine's Day dinner here this year for a change, and we are glad that we did. We started with a cocktail in The Bureau, the speakeasy behind the back of the house. One was a bourbon concoction and the other was based on ginger beer, and both drinks were stellar. For appetizers, we had the arugula salad and the beef tartar. Round two was meant for pasta, one pappardelle with a beef ragu and the second was tagliolini cacio e pepe. Housemade and fresh, the pasta alone is worth the drive. Round three was a big generous cut of ribeye for me and a whole lobster for my bride: no complaints and clean plates. The final course included semolina cake and chestnut tartufo. With attentive service by an experience server, this remains a five-star experience.

Randomly located in a residential area of Buckhead, I parked on the street across from the restaurant because there was ample parking and daintily walked over in my heels. The night was mild and humidity bearable, so my girlfriends and I opted to sit outside on their beautiful patio shaded by tall magnolias and hanging lanterns. Unfortunately, after sitting outside for about 10 minutes, we realized that we in fact hate the outdoors because of bugs, bugs, bugs. So we asked our poor server if we could move inside, and he and the hosts were very gracious at accommodating our request. Once settled in, the rest of dinner was absolutely lovely. The bone marrow, if you don't mind that sort of gelatinous meat thing, was rich and flavorful, the octopus had a bit more char than I would have liked, but it was all still very tasty. While their steak and grouper were very good, I'm a bit embarrassed to admit that my favorite dishes of the night were the garganelli spinach pasta and their Brussels sprouts side. The Brussels sprouts were grilled and tossed with jalapenos and lemon chunks. So creative! So good. The pasta was cooked al dente and had a rich (but not too rich) creamy cheese sauce. My only complaint was, why wasn't this dish bigger?? In general, the portion sizes were on the smaller side, which I suppose you should expect at restaurants like KR. But still, I was born in America and am used to my spoiled super size ways! Service was great as to be expected from a KR restaurant. I will say it took 3 hours to complete our meal for 4 but we were not complaining. Leisurely drinking wine and surrounded by good company and food makes one thankful to not worry about time. And our server, Joshua, was so sweet. It was my girlfriend's birthday and he brought out not one complimentary dessert but two! One was a key lime pie and the other a salty caramel hazelnut sort of sweet. And even though we were stuffed on food and wine, we still managed to scarf down both desserts. Thanks for a great meal, KR!

Table of 15, had a whole room in the back for ourselves. Service was great. Our waiter was amazing and took care of us very well. Food was very fancy. I ordered a half dozen of oysters and a half chicken. They were good! Vibe was good, bring money though, but it's worth it.

Love all of the Rathbus establishments. This one is new-ish so I hadn't been to it. They have a wonderful back room through the kitchen and we had an event for work there. The back room has a bar area and a room. The staff here were amazing and attentive, the food was spot on (massive prix fix menu with 5 courses at least). They gave us a great selection of varies wines for all tastes. This place is great for your private party!

Enjoyed the best birthday dinner ever!! Great atmosphere, wonderful friendly and knowledgeable service (Tiffany), and a gracious chef who delivered many of the courses to our table while explaining each selection. We decided on the chef's choice and there wasn't a bad bite to be had. With only a couple of comments about what we did not want to have, the chef made perfect choices for us. The chef's choice gave us the opportunity to try many things on the menu that we might not have otherwise been able to have. The server suggested an excellent bottle of wine based on our description of what we like. Very personable staff from the valet to the chef! Overall A++++ Definitely will go back.

Came here as part of the Atlanta Restaurant Week. We originally planned on going with the 3-course menu as part of the promo. However, after seeing the regular dinner menu and talking with the waitress (who was fantastic, super friendly, and very knowledgeable of the menu), we were convinced to go with the Chef's Picks. I suggest you do the same. Chef's Picks is $65/guest. It's a pretty good deal considering how much all the apps and entrees are separately. If you go this route, you get to sample a variety of foods from the restaurant. It's pretty pricey no doubt, but the way I see it is that we won't be coming here that often so might as well get the most out of this visit and enjoy the best it has to offer. Chef's Picks = 3 apps (about a $30 value), two entrees (about a $40-70 value and we were told it would possibly be one steak and one seafood) w/ 2 sides (about a $12-14 value) and two desserts. Everything tasted amazing. for $10 (not per person), you can get the spinalis cut of the beef. IT WAS DELICIOUS AND I COMMAND YOU TO GET IT! If you appreciate good steak, DO IT! It's has the juicy flavor of a ribeye but the tenderness of a filet. You won't regret but be sure you get there at a decent hour because they have a limited supply. Note the Chef picks out everything (hence Chef's Picks ha!). Long story short, everything tasted amazing including foods I don't generally eat, such as scallops and brussel sprouts. The steak was cooked to perfection. Perfectly pink with no blood but still juicy. The brussel sprouts and mushrooms we got were delicious and prepared in a way I've never tasted. This place is a game changer. You will get full off the Chef's Picks, which is another plus in addition to the variety of offerings because if you were to pick individual plates, your credit score would plummet. This is a great place for a date too! A lot of seating but it does get packed. Very modern yet rustic design along with that mood lighting nonsense. You know, so you can't see what you're eating. Maybe it's so your taste buds are heightened? I took a few pictures but not a lot. Didn't want to be seen as that guy...but oh well.

I have never been so ecstatic to update a review - yippee! 2 years later, I'm happy to change my 2 star rating to a 5 star - heyooo! We decided to come for Buckhead Restaurant Week, as KR Steakbar was offering an awesome $25 menu. Several friends had patroned KR Steakbar and proclaimed it much improved, and I figured enough time has passed - may as well give it another shot. I made reservations online for a Wednesday night at 7:00pm. I noted it was my friend's birthday and that we would love to sit outside, as I had heard the outdoor patio was lovely. I got a phone call reminder the day before and voila, they noted all the requests I had made. Great sign. We walked into the restaurant right on time. Our table wasn't ready so we sat at the bar (which had seats this time!) and ordered a round of cocktails. I was a little nervous that we were going to have a similar experience as last time, but hooray! About 10 minutes later, our table was ready and we were seated outside along the fence under the trees. Perfect. It truly was a perfect spring day - not too hot, not humid, just right for sitting outside. Our waiter Mikale was fantastic. Such a gentleman, super pleasant - he's everything that a great waiter should be. He immediately noticed that we had brought two wines with us (note: you can BYOB up to 2 bottles; $20 corkage for each bottle) and went to get decanters for us. A+ service! He brought them out, noticed some debris in both decanters, and went back to get two clean ones (plus a filter for our big cab sav). The cork broke on one of our bottles, but he was a star and successfully extracted the remaining half. And then Mikale made my heart sing: upon asking if they had morels, I was told not only did they have morels, I could have them however I wanted. HOWEVER I WANTED. Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat??? This is truly my idea of heaven: perfect outdoor setting, great wine, jazz, amazing service, wonderful company, and all the morels I could ever want. Some fresh delicious bread and wonderful olive oil were brought out and we chomped on that while perusing the menu, as everything sounded great and the idea of adding morels to allllll the things really made it difficult to choose. To buy more time, we ordered the formaggi misti and some coppa, which went really well with our wine. I really enjoyed the cheeses, especially with the honey and marcona almonds. I could easily come here just for salumi and cheese with a wonderful glass of wine and to enjoy that outdoor patio. Based on Mikale's recommendations, we decided to split an order on the tonarelli (add morels) and the maltigliata. Both pastas were on point, cooked perfectly al dente, and OMG the morels in that pepper sauce. Light, delicious, heavenly. I would highly recommend ordering both again. Hubby and I also decided to split the steak, quickly settling on the shell steak plus an order of the spinach. Although our steak was a little more done than requested, the coffee rub was really delicious. I immediately proclaimed that the seasoning tasted like what hubby makes at home. Delicious as can be. The spinach was out-of-this-world amazing. The chili oil really brought out the spinach and I loved the spicy taste against the coffee steak. And did I mention we added MORELS TO OUR STEAK? Because we did, and they were cooked in buttery deliciousness and made our meal. We ordered dessert, something I rarely do, and it was an easy pick for me: brulee lemon tart. This may be my new favorite dessert in the ATL. Its got all the wonderful qualities of a tart lemon bar (omg, that crust...) with the crunchy goodness of crème brulee. Very light, delicious, and splittable, as a few bites are very satisfying, especially when paired with a glass of prosecco. Our friends got a chocolate dish - it seemed like coffee ice cream with donuts - I have no idea what it was called, but also very very delicious. While having dessert, Kevin himself came and greeted our table and chatted with us for some time. I felt very welcomed by him in his restaurant. In two years, so much has changed at KR Steakbar. A perfect patio has been added, with bushes that shield the street/sidewalk from patrons, while large trees shade guests with super cool lighting that comes out at night (I thought they were bird feeders in the daylight, but nope - awesome lights!). The atonal music has blessedly been replaced with Sinatra and Ella, the busy menu has shifted to more pastas and steaks (I'm a font person, and I really like the design of this menu vs. the old), the staff are on their A game, and the food on point (and portions much bigger). Everything about KR Steakbar is what I love in a great restaurant and I am happy to say that I LOVE it. And for this, I will definitely be back.

I've never written a yelp review, but my dinner at KR last night was one of those meals that makes you want to tell everyone about it. We had drinks at the bar, followed by a delicious three course meal. We started with the burrata, fried artichokes, and the tuna. I love burrata and this is definitely one of my favorites I've ever had. Next we had two pastas-- the garganelli with a fresh pesto. So light and perfect for summer, I could have licked the plate. The other was the maltagliati with braised short rib. Short rib isn't my favorite but the flavored were still great. We got a few different entrees, but the highlight had to be the hanger steak with acorn squash purée and carrots. Oh my gosh, it was perfection. The steak was perfectly cooked and the combination of acorn squash and carrots was delicious. Can't say enough good things about this meal. Oh and our server Tiffany was great!!

I've only visited KR for a private rehearsal dinner in the back room, but overall I enjoyed it. First off, if you're planning a private group event, this is definitely a spot you want to check out. The back room is perfect for a party of up to about 50. Private bar. Private bathrooms. Plenty of space to hang out. Despite it being a private event, I thought the bartenders were pretty attentive and generous with the drinks. As for the food, I didn't think it was the most amazing Italian I've ever had, but I would probably come back. Service was friendly and they paced the meal out really nicely as to not rush us out of the restaurant. I think we even went over on time a little bit, but they didn't seem to mind.

Honestly, if you aren't giving this place a 5 star, you must be kind of stupid. Straight up. I live next door, and have been dying inside driving by the patio waiting for the time I would have a group of people to go with. Saturday night, my dreams came true. A group of 4 of us braved the windy weather, and made it to this newest edition of Kevin Rathburn's restaurants. We ordered the Chef's selection. It was $55/per person, not including drinks. The entire table had to order it, and it was a sharing experience. Let me tell you, we arrived at 8:30, and were completely stuffed when we left at 11:30. We had a togo box! There were 4 of us! Starting out, the place is completely cool. Subway tile, urban finishes. You could be in a warehouse, or you could be at your boss's house...I don't know. It is definitely impressive. We had an end booth, and it was by a drafty door. Those silly people that thought it wasn't really 32 degrees outside! It only happened once, and they know no space heater was going to work. Some people are just time-wasters. There were 4-5 courses, and each had multiple plates brought out. Out of probably trying 15 things, I liked everything except the meatballs. I don't like meatballs, maybe I am crazy. You tell me. Meat and Cheese plate, jalapeno Pasta for days, alfredo pasta, Brussels sprouts, scallops, and STEAK was TO DIE FOR! My Brazilian friend said it was one of the best steaks he has ever had. We cleaned our palette with sorbet before entrees. If you didn't know, this place is fancy. We had 2 bottles of red wine...and at $100 a head including tip, I am ready to go there again. Really, like tonight after I am done writing this review. My only complaint is 2 desserts to share. Pudding should be at least 4x. I can still taste that pudding! Not fair! Everyone should have their own pudding. Longest review ever. Best place in Atlanta in my book right now.

Just amazing. My wife and I shared the meatball appetizer (made from filet mignon!), fresh made pasta with clams, and as fine a steak as I have ever had. Flawless service. Go there. You will not be disappointed.

I frequently use KR as a place to entertain clients and guests when visiting out of town. I was HIGHLY disappointed in the unprofessional behavior delivered by the bartenders as we arrived 45 mins prior to closing time. To be treated as an inconvenience after asking for 1 cocktail at the bar was unacceptable. He walked away in mid-sentence throwing his hands in the air like a juvenile, roll his eyes, then proceeded to call the other bartender b/c he did know how to make a specific drink?? I will never recommend KR again.

KR Steakbar was a wonderful place to go to celebrate a special occasion. Though I loathe going to Buckhead, this isn't *really* Buckhead, as it's actually tucked away in a more residential section of Peachtree Hills. Valet is free, but not really needed, as there's not much else happening in this little shopping strip (at least on a weeknight). However, once you enter the restaurant, you forget you're in a residential area, because the interior is super swanky, romantic, and modern/trendy. Though this might be Buckhead, you can definitely see Kevin Rathbun's Inman Park roots come through. You'll want to dress to impress for sure. This would be a great date spot, a fact that many people at the bar seemed to be embracing. We started with the artichokes with dill and pangrattato ($10) and the much raved over grilled octopus with potato, charred onion, and orange segments ($11), and because we had a friend working the bar, were gifted an order of the arancini (normally $6). The artichokes and octopus were out of this world. Both were marinated first, before being finished in the deep fryer or the wood-fired grill respectively, and were packed with flavor in a thoughtful and exciting way. I would say that one appetizer is barely enough for two people, so you may want one per person and then share. For entrees, my date gave me a major case of order envy. That's not to say that my scallops were bad (they were amazing), but his 8oz shell steak, rubbed with espresso and horseradish and wood-fire grilled, was possibly the best steak I've ever tasted. Though he ordered it medium and I'm more of a medium rare girl, I think their medium was more on the rare side, so it worked out in my favor. This was a beautiful piece of meat. Our sides were the potatoes with rosemary and garlic ($6), which were super crispy with just a hint of spices, and brussels sprouts with preserved lemon and calabrese ($7). I love brussels sprouts by any preparation, and these were some of my favorite (but not quite displacing Local Three which has the best brussels in the city). My date doesn't drink, so we stuck with sparkling water, which was kept refilled with fresh glasses through the evening. We concluded a wonderful meal with a shared chocolate budino ($6), which was a rich but fluffy chocolate mousse topped with candied orange peel and roasted hazelnut. One of my favorite things about Kevin Rathbun's restaurants is the attention he puts on dessert, and this was no exception. While it didn't quite knock Rathbun's out of the spot of my favorite of this restaurant group, KR Steakbar came pretty close. I'm glad to have a good reason to come back to Buckhead!

We had a pre-planned meal and asked for the upgrade for the steak. Every course was out of this world. The chicken was a huge surprise and absolutely tasty. We've been there twice and we will be back.

Loved it! High quality service and food like every one of Kevin Rathbun's places. This one is in more of a residential area tucked out of the way. Our waiter was great! He knew the menu, joked enough to be fun without being overbearing, and kept the meal moving at just the right pace. We had burratta and bone marrow as appetizers, excellent. Then we moved on to the pappardelle and a steak. The cut was an off the menu spinalis. I had never heard of it but it's the cap on the ribeye. Our waiter described it as tasty like a ribeye but tender like a filet. He was dead on and it was amazing. The pasta was perfect. Finished up with zeppole. Another winner. We will be back. You should too.

Another great one of Rathbun's restaurants! I was slightly hesitant to try out KR SteakBar due to the negative reviews. However, we had a wonderful dinner here over the weekend and cannot wait to return. With the name KR SteakBar, it kinda surprised me that it's an Italian restaurant (before looking at the menu of course). Nonetheless, the food was amazing (all but one item). Service was top notch; our server's so knowledgeable with both the food & wine menus. We decided not to get any steak here because we always go to Kevin Rathbun's steak for that. ~ chef's choice cured meat plate - generous portion; everything was very good especially the prosciutto ~ octopus - so tender & delicious ~ carpaccio - the meat was good but overall this didn't have enough flavor for me... it was pretty bland ~ pappardelle in pork & beef ragu - apparently one of their most popular items; it was perfectly seasoned & had just the right amount of sauce; pasta made in house ~ olive oil cake w/ whipped ricotta & strawberry sorbet - amazing! the cake's so moist and everything just goes so well together ~ milk chocolate semi-freddo - so rich & delicious! I would've preferred dark chocolate but this wasn't extremely sweet as I expected Valet or street parking. Gorgeous outside patio's available but it was pretty chilly when we went so we sat inside. Open kitchen. Full bar is located kind of in the middle of the restaurant.

this place is awesome!!! We've heard such good things from friends so we were super excited to try it out ourselves. If we could give it more than 5 stars, we would!! We ordered THE BEST bottle of cab: Siva Sonoma. Highly recommend! It was crisp and cool, definitely a mood setter. The complimentary bread was amazing. I want to say it was somehow infused with olive oil and sea salt. So delicious! Our table decided to go the "chef's selection". I highly recommend this! It's all of the chefs favorite and most popular dishes, for a great price of $55 per person! We had a 6 course meal with the deal. Chef brought out a delicious selection of meats, 3 appetizers: risotto fried marinara balls, braised pork belly, and the INFAMOUS meatballs! Ya'll, I'm not kidding. These meatballs are amazing. Must try! Chef continued with two selections of handmade pasta dishes, then a nice offering of lemon sorbet to cleanse the pallet. A nice touch!! We were SO full at this point but the food was so good we couldn't stop! Next came the entrees: shell steak, fried egg pork, fingerling potatoes, brussel sprouts, and mushrooms. SO GOOD. like, food coma, y'all. Lastly, dessert. We got a pair of a lemon bar and DELICIOUS fried pumpkin fritters. those pumpkin fritters knock the pants off any pumpkin spice latte!!! Overall, our experience was beyond exceptional. Ed, our waiter (highly recommend) was delightful and made sure we had a great time. This must be on your list of places to eat in ATL! It won't let you down, I promise!

Valarie provided excellent service, knew every detail and provided insight based on our questions. We started with the artichokes and smoked formaggi fritters, both of which were wonderful. I also had the pork belly - amazing. My wife had the tonnarelli pasta; seems simple, but really is very good and quite flavorful. I've limited my steak consumption recently - my wife is sort of a chicke-pescatarian & I just haven't found too many great steaks recently, but I had the special which was a specific ribeye cut (can't recall exactly) with a fairly simple rub and some balsamico. It was simply incredible. Steak is back for me!

The artichoke appetizer might be one of the greatest dishes I have had in recent memory. Just had to toss that out there, You're welcome. KR SteakBar is another one of Kevin's spots in the city that hits the mark. There is just something about this dude picking random industrial spaces and turning them into mouth-watering food dens. Hit the bar with my mother, the feast ensued. Octopus dish, Artichoke dish. Solid conglomerate of flavor, on the real. Kevin can be seen making his rounds, guy is cool as can be. Came over, shook my hand, said hello to moms - - definitely wanted to make sure everything was copacetic, which naturally it was. Massive porterhouse for two, Yes please! We got this medium-rare and it was absolutely perfect. We devoured, and it doubled as my breakfast the next morning. My only beef (see what I did there) with this place is the crowd. Not really my scene as it's in Peachtree Hills and draws the Buckhead Betty crowd. Nonetheless, Kevin Rathbun does his thing as usual - - Krog is still my favorite.

This place gets a 10 out of 10! From the service to the food, they exceed expectations at a high level! For a truly amazing experience try the chefs tasting menu. It's a great way to try many different flavors.

Decadent and absolutely delicious. If you want to spoil yourself for any occasion, this is the place to go. There were 10 of us and the ambiance/service was excellent. We decided to do a "family style" dinner which gave us the ability to try so many different dishes. We started with the Arancini (my favorite), Meatballs, and Artichokes . Then the pasta dishes - Pappardelle (to die for), Tagliatelle, and Tonnarelli. This is the best pasta I've had in Atlanta to date and definitely rivals Boston and NYC. Next was he 26 OZ Porterhouse is a must for sharing and perfectly cooked. We will absolutely get this next time whether we are a party of 2 or more - AMAZING! Of course we had to end the night with desert - the Pumpkin Fritters are only on the menu for a short period of time and worth it. Overall, the experience was fabulous and I can't wait to come back.

Seems we may have dropped in on a bad night and we were part of a large party in the back room with a prix fixe menu, but the whole experience was completely underwhelming. The antipasti dishes weren't enough for each person to have one of each (meatball, peppers...), the three pasta options all tasted the same, and the entree (protein) portions were inconsistent across the table. My piece of swordfish was twice as big as my neighbors', same with the steak and pork chops. Everything was on the edge of salty and borderline overdone. I'd like to think it was an off night, and may convince my husband to return for an off-the-menu dinner, but would definitely not recommend for a large group or private party.

We usually go to Kevin Rathbun Steak for our special occasions, as it's our favorite, but they were booked for a private function the night we were going. We weren't at all happy with Rathbun's, so we decided to try KRSB. Use your GPS because it's so hidden away, if you blink you'll miss it. Our server was wonderful and spent a good amount of time with us describing dishes. We don't eat large portions, so we decided to just split an order of the Papardelle with the beef and pork ragu. I could have eaten that as my meal, it was a perfect size for me. It was delicious. There was just a hint of spiciness in it, the pasta was definitely home made and just wonderful. For an entree, I ordered the 6 oz. Filet with Eggplant and Roasted Garlic. My only complaint was that the eggplant seemed to be an afterthought. It could have been cooked a bit longer, but it didn't really add anything to the dish. Put some sort of sauce on it or something...it was blah. But the Filet was cooked perfectly, it was tender and just delicious. The garlic wasn't overpowering and it was just a great piece of meat. I did, however, miss my truffle butter that I usually have at KRS, but it was still really good. For our sides, we had the Potatoes (meh) and the Brussell Sprouts with preserved lemon and Calabrese, whatever that is. BEST SPROUTS EVER!!! They were quartered and seasoned with, I believe, garlic salt and a bit of lemon zest, and then deep fried. YUM YUM YUM. Can't stop thinking about them. Next time, I'll order the Pappardelle and the sprouts and I'll be in heaven. We'll be back!

Nothing wrong with this restaurant, but not as good as Kevin's other restaurants. We would return but would do it on a Cost + $10 wine Monday and would sit at the bar. We had birthday dinner reservations and it happened to be on a cost + $10 wine night. We love this concept as it allows us to choose a more expensive bottle (but with the price reduced to their cost + $10) than we would normally. They served us the bread basket with oil. The bread had salt on it which was very good. The oil was just oil and not a very tasty oil at that. We had the arancini appetizer and the mozzerella with asparagus puree and sesame seeds. The arancini was wonderful. The other appetizer was just okay. For entrees we had the lamb dish and the shell steak. Both of us thought the shell steak looked like the filet instead of the shell. The waitress assured us it was the shell. It was good but not nearly what you can get at Rathbun Steak. I ordered the lamb "cooked to the chef's specifications". Well, my bad. It was medium well and just seemed very overcooked to me. The seasoning also tasted like taco seasoning. Because it was a birthday dinner we were offered a free dessert. I wanted to try the lemon pound cake because it came with candied farro and farro is my current favorite grain. This did not dissapoint. The cake was flavorful without being heavy. The candied farro tasted like sugar pops cereal and the whipped ricotta was just like whipped cream. The service was interesting. The waitress was training a new waiter. When he was taking our order he couldn't answer questions about the menu. I wouldn't put a server on the floor that didn't know the menu inside and out. In fact, I would have them taste all or most of the dishes so they could speak knowledgeably about them. That said the service was attentive without being intrusive.

We just left the restaurant right now and I am totally pissed. This is so awkward that in this kind of classy steak house, they treat us like ... Because we were not like the others in the jacket and the suits. Although our server was thinking he is a king of the seven skies, the worse thing about our experience was the time he brought us the check. The check was 156 dollars but when he took my credit card to slide, thanks to the apple pay, he already added 32 dollars for his tip more to the payment which was not shown anywhere on the paper. If I haven had an apple pay I didn't figure out that he already added that much of tip for his shitty service. I cannot say that I don't go back to this place again. I will because their food was awesome, but next time I will definitely ask the manager about my concerns.

So this place is tucked back, sort of in an industrial park. I have been a fan of Kevin's ever since Nava. Dinner did not dissappoint. I started with the sweatbreads which the table decided they would share in. I followed this with the ribeye (shell), but I got the horseradish rub on it. This was pretty awesome as well. The beer selection is meaningful even though there is not a huge selection. Service was very prompt.

Love this place. We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this past Friday at KR Steakbar. The staff was very accommodating and the food was on point. The chef even came out to speak with us and offer us both a dessert of his choice to congratulate us. The location is in one of the more quiet areas of buckhead which made it more romantic.

Server asked us three times if we had bread brought to us as if he couldn't tell for himself. He got our wine order wrong which is not that big of a deal except the food was just mediocre. Pasta was bland. Trout app lacked taste and salt. Brussel sprouts were my favorite but over salted. Spinach was good. The Shell steak with horseradish had a funky smell to it...like burnt plastic. Fru-fru type dishes i.e. small plates. Left there still hungry.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
