Great burgers. Great atmosphere. I loved visiting this location!

After a trip to the aquarium, this is a great spot to grab a bite to eat. Staff was very friendly and prices are reasonable. Service is very fast too. It has cool diner decor as well.
(4)Victoria B.
Cool burger restaurant. Our waiter was awesome. Friendly service located right across from the Georgia Aquarium the sandwiches are big and the burgers are yummy love the toasted crispy buns. Oh and there's a small jukebox at each table which for a nickel plays any song you like. Wish their were more than one restroom though.
(4)Saket M.
Amazing burgers!.. Vegetarian Burgers!! They can change different burgers with veggie patty. Burgers are spicy and tasty. :) Must eat here!
(5)Charles A.
First visit this location. Super fast delivery of very hot, well prepared food!! Lot better than my experience at Taco Mac a couple nights ago. Waitress was quick and attentive. In and out quickly. Plus a delicious dessert!!
(5)Danielle S.
I went here after my sister and I went to the aquarium with her two kids. It was super close to the aquarium, so very easy to get to. We had two kids, so they put us in a booth in the corner. The waitress was super accommodating and helpful. We ordered two of the kids meals for us and the kids. The sliders were actually a decent size. My sister and I aren't huge meal eaters, so honestly, between her, me and her 2 yo, we were fine with the 2 kids meals and a milkshake. Their milkshakes are super creamy and delish and their burgers taste fresh, not frozen like so many other fast food places.
(5)Kim M.
The food is wonderful the waiter Charles was a delight. There is one rude nasty crybaby waitress Leslie who doesn't realize that working together get you a better tip she changes my mind about eating there at lunch time. Sorry Johnny Rockets you lost a lot of business because of her attitude
(1)Luke S.
Just ate lunch here. I would give it 6 stars if it could!!! Food and service were phenomenal!! I got the smokehouse double burger. Probably the best burger I have ever had.
(5)Nissa E.
Whenever I want a good burger....this is one of the places I go! I love the 50s look, i hope they NEVER change it. I get to play a fave oldie song for a nickel. I love it! They have locations everywhere..i've even gone to one in the Miami Lakes area! I recommend it! p.s. two words: Oreo Shake
(5)Sylvain P.
I'm not used to write bad reviews but... We waited so so so long even with many employees watching empty tables and guessing "who will move and clean it". Then, we had a table, we ordered and again we waited .... a long time. The food was OK. The worse was that they moved the trashes in the place to empty the table with their hand in the trash. I have never seen that before. The place was not clean. I hope I was not lucky and it was their bad day but they made me write my 1st bad review.
(1)John S.
Was in area for work and decided to go to Johnny Rockets in stead of my standby Baja Fresh. Service was ok but entertaining and the burgers we decent. Milkshake (oreo) was to die for, which made it all good.
(3)Jonathan C.
I have always been a fan of Johnny Rockets, the 50's atmosphere, the jukeboxes and good food at decent prices. I often visit different locations when I am traveling and enjoy the fun atmosphere. However the times I have visited this location the service and food quality have been sub par. After our waitress took our drink order it took 10-15 min before we saw a drink. I know she was busy and had a group leaving but management and the other wait staff let all of her other tables fall the wayside. The burger came out and the meat was overcooked and the toppings were thrown together like something you would expect from McDonalds. The wait staff had grumpy attitudes with fake smiles made it a get your food and go environment instead of a fun 50's atmosphere.
(2)Karina M.
We stopped for dinner on 8/24. Our server So Journer was very attentive and had good customer service. Our food was on time and very very good. I order a chicken salad and requested grilled mushrooms on top and she made it happen, it turn out to be my best salad so far. My husbands Mexican hamburger was delicious. We had a good meal. What I noticed the girls talk a lot at the front desk instead of cleaning some of the tables.
(5)J D.
The waitress was friendly and the place was bright and cheerful. My root beer float came quickly. They made sure to give me some additional root beer. I had the bbq chicken melt. It was good, but would have been better with a bun instead of the sourdough bread. The onion rings a were a little disappointing. They were small enough that I thought they weren't there at first. This is definitely a no frills diner. You can see where cost is cut with their plastic cutlery. I would have thought the prices would have been a little lower considering their cost cutting. At $7, I would have thought my fries were included. In general, the food and the atmosphere were good however, I gave it three stars because of the pricing.
(3)Linda B.
Very good tasting meal. Nice clean place. Staff friendly. Its nect to legal sea food and coke cola . I recommend it all
(5)Crystal H.
This place was pretty good. Its family friendly and the staff were great. You are provided with 3-4 nickels once your seated, to allow you to operate the small table size jukeboxes that are on each table. This was a pretty neat experience. The only bummer was... The place was packed, so with all the table before us and currently dining requesting music... We never got to hear out requested tunes. No big deal though. Our waitress was very nice. She frequently forgot to bring things out yo our table that we requested, but she remained positive and so did we. Her wonderful upbeat personality kind of made up for that. The food was great and well worth the visit. The onion rings were the bomb and the milkshakes are handmade and delicious. This location is conviently located right across the street from the Georgia Aquarium. Its also in walking distance from The Coca Cola factory and Centinnel Park.

Johnny Rockets is nothing short of spot on food and service. Food: [5/5] Simple, direct, good old American food. The burgers were delicious, hot, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The vegetable toppings were crisp, fresh, and delicious. The fries followed suit. The milkshakes were remarkable. For a chain, this place surpassed my expectations and I left feeling fat and happy. Get the classic, standard burger if you desire that well-known taste of 50's Americana. Service: [5/5] Our server was fantastic - prompt, had a great personality, accurate, and friendly. As an added bonus, a few of them danced sequentially to some classic Motown songs as they played. In addition, at each table is a miniature jukebox where patrons can put in a nickle (that they provide you with as well) and select from a healthy selection of classic, 50's ear songs. Simple, engaging, and fun. The next time we head through Atlanta we will be stopping through this joint and happily giving them our money.
(5)Dany B.
The place does get busy. It's smaller than most Johnny Rocket's I've ever been too. But it's also the first Johnny Rockets to ever place a nickel on our table for the juke box. I can't rave anything good or anything bad for the place. The service was decent, we ordered our food we received our food. The only mistake made was my milkshake. Yes my cup came out with the orange dreamsicle, but the lovely metal cup that holds the leftover/extras was someone else's peanut butter shake. The Houston Burger was good. The jalapeños were lacking though, I thought I'd get a little more kick, popped open the buns to see 2-3 pieces. The picture on the menu and poster behind us has a handful of 'em. I had the half onion rings and half fries. I felt kind of cheated on the onion rings. I had a few, but I always thought you'd get a little more.
(3)Elizabeth V.
So easy to go there right before the aquarium. Was also my daughter's birthday and Staff sang happy birthday to her and danced to respect by Aretha Franklin. Food was good service was good.
(4)Mychael W.
Why does my brownie taste like a hamburger? After a day at the aquarium and hanging out downtown, the family and I had a taste for dessert. We'd already had dinner at the coal fired pizza place just around the corner, so we thought Johnny Rockets would be the perfect end to the evening. We sat at the bar and decided on an apple pie a la mode and a brownie sundae to share between the four of us. There weren't too many people at the restaurant because it was near closing time (isn't 9pm on a Friday a little early to close??). It was taking a long time for them to even start on our food, so I joked that they must have been baking the pie. I finally see them start to prepare the desserts and noticed the cook taking the brownie out of display case, unwrap it from it's plastic, put it on the plate, and head towards the ice cream. I asked the server if they could heat the brownie first. That was the beginning of my issue. The server said that they could heat it, but don't usually. He tells the cook and he makes a face, but then throws the one away and grabbed another brownie. I didn't pay attention to what he did to heat it. but when they gave it to me, it tasted like a chocolate hamburger. LOL!!! I guess he put it on the grill that they cook the food in, so it absorbed that smell and flavor. The apple pie crust tasted like grease, but my 13 year old didn't mind. My 8 year old still ate the brownie too. He said, "Yeah, it tastes like a hamburger at first, but then it's okay." I mentioned this to the host/server and he just laughed. He didn't apologize or offer to comp. I definitely won't be going back after that. Hamburgers are good. Brownies are good. Brownie burgers...not good...
(2)Glenn N.
Kids were happy, wife was happy, i was satisfied. Wait staff was extremely nice and helpful. Along with the beef, the cesar salad was outstanding.
(5)Julie A.
An easy 4 star. We were famished when we came upon Johnny Rockets. Thank you Yelp for suggesting it! I had forgotten I had eaten here in Jersey, but coming back was a treat. They have a great selection of burgers. I ordered their special for the day St. Louis burger ($5.89), and an Apple Pie shake ($4.49) to go with it. My son ordered the Rocket Single ($5.39) and a Peanut Butter shake ($4.49) to go with it. My son and travel chica and I all stuffed ourselves into oblivion. They have the kind of burgers you just have to force yourself to finish even after you run out of stomach. It's that good! Juicy, tasty, and fresh ingredients. Too bad I barely tasted the "kick" from the Tabasco sauce they said went into my burger. More heat please!! The apple pie literally tastes like liquefied apple pie with graham cracker bits and apple pie chunks. The place looks like a little diner and reminds me of Steak n Shake. I was craving it when I got back home so I went to Steak n Shake, but Johnny Rockets has a much better selection of shakes and burgers. Keeping up with the diner theme, the waitress gives you 2 quarters so you can play a song from the mini jukebox at your table. Johnny Rockets is on the other side of a building right across the street from the Aquarium.
(4)Nathan H.
We were headed to the aquarium with a total of five kiddos (four of which weren't mine for the record) and decided to stop by a quick bite. Sure, its a little corny but the service was fast and the kids (around 5 y/o) were entertained. They were given white diner hats when we sat down and the server gave them a nickel to play a song in the jukebox. The food was good but not great. However, the convenience and cost (considering its proximity to downtown ATL) made this a great find. I ordered a cheese burger with onion rings and thought it was as good as you could get at Sonic or any other fast burger joint. If you're going to the aquarium and park in there garage youll walk right by so i would suggest swinging in for a milk
(3)Joseph C.
This was place awesome!!!! Service was excellent and the food was even more great!!! Definitely recommend this to EVERYONE!!! Friendly atmosphere with great people.
(5)Madison I.
My husband, daughter, and I ate at Johnny Rockets over Memorial Day weekend. They were very busy, but our food still arrived in a timely manner and it was delicious. Our waiter was very nice and checked in on us often. I'm not sure why they have gotten such bad reviews.
(4)Jason H.
The place was clearing out as we entered, so the pace was slowing down aggressively. It still took about 20 minutes before anyone came to the table to acknowledge our existence. To be honest, the food was just meh. I could've gone to Legal Seafood around the corner and had a significantly higher quality meal for about the same price. And I wouldn't be hungry two hours later after a nice Legal Seafood meal like I was after eating here. We got the kids the hot dog meals, and while they ate most of them, neither of them said they would get it again. I ordered the sweet potato fries for the table and they seemed unnaturally sweet. I can't put my finger on it, but I suspect they may have been treated with something such as honey. My wife ordered the BLT which she said was good. I got the Route 66 burger. It wasn't really anything to get excited about. It looked like a parody of the menu picture. It came with lots of onions, but I had to dig to find the mushrooms. When the bill came, I was a bit shocked. I neglected to factor in the four milkshakes we got. The food is reasonably priced as long as you realize that fries and drinks are extra. So, what might cost $8-10 at another restaurant, will cost you a minimum of $12+ at this one. I can get a much better hotel burger in that $8-10 range than anything I could get at this rocket ship.
(2)Angeles W.
Two people CAN share fries, because burgers are HUGE. Route 66 burger (swiss & mushrooms) is delicious!!! Sweet tea = fabulous. I haven't had sweet tea that delicious at a restaurant in ages! Quick to seat us, service is FABULOUS, and the food is delicious. Just the break we needed from the Aquarium.
(4)Dwight S.
Great food and fast service. Malts were excellent for a hot day. Family ordered a Philly cheese steak sandwich, the American picnic burger, and the Houston burger. All of them were great to eat and we highly recommend them to others.
(4)Sarah K.
Pretty neat atmosphere. They dance If you play Respect on the jukebox. They give you two free nickles to do just that. It felt kind of dirty and old. Music was very loud. The ideas for the burgers were great but mine was not executed well. Burger was overlooked and sauce was minuscule. I definitely could have asked for some changes if I had known (first timer here). But the prices are great considering the proximity to the tourist attractions and they have sweet potato fries.
(3)Coby G.
I ate here when me and some other of my family went to the aquarium I'm Atlanta in this food was delicious I hope I find one in alabama becuase that is some of the best food I ever had
(5)Merrie D.
Ate here on a busy Friday night. Came in about 30 minutes before closing but greeted with a smile. Food really good for burger joint. Really large servings and can probably share fries/onion rings. Kids loved the tabletop jukeboxes-server even gave them change to use in them! Had peanut butter shake for dessert-great! Really nice and fun place to eat! Kind of diner vibe but was super clean-loved it!
(5)Desiree R.
Johnny Rockets is your typical greasy diner chain that serves generic but sometimes tasty food. It's quick and convenient. Having walked all around the Olympic park and Coca Cola world- this girl was about to pass out- thank heavens for Johnny Rockets and their fast and friendly service. I got the chili cheese dog and this baby hit the spot but good. Greasy cheesy goodness! Just a side note- this is a cheap place but you have to pay extra for everything... my food was only the chili cheese dog- if I wanted fries or anything else- all extra- just be aware. Overall a solid place for food. *oh and our waitress was very friendly and attentive* **and I like that they give you a couple nickels to play some songs**
(3)Lisa M.
This place is right across from the Georgia Aquarium. This place is all good. Burgers, chili cheese fries (with onions), and all the rest
(4)Hadi B.
Took 20 mins for someone to take the order. Food was average. Service was absolutely horrible. DO NOT GO HERE. WILL RUIN YOUR DAY !!!
(1)Wilson W.
Our go-to spot after going to the aquarium or world of coke. Jose gave great service and the food hit the spot. The kiddos ate up their food and had a blast playing the juke boxes.
(4)Ladonna H.
Great VIP service Enjoyed it very much. The waiter was so much fun and made this visit and experience.
(4)Brenda D.
I was in town for a conference and we decided to grab a quick bite of real food before the reception began. This might be a chain but it has great ambiance. I kept is simple with the slider and fries. The malts are out of this world - very thick and creamy. The waiter was a hoot.
(4)Wes R.
Since it is right downtown Atlanta it is a great location. Food was good and the service was great. Will go back next time we get a chance.
(4)Jennifer B.
My first visit at a Johnny Rockets & it was quiet memorable. The Boyfriend & I were headed to the Aquarium for his birthday & while trying to find a place to park we stumbled across this little gem. It was truly a blast! The whole experince started out with our waitress handing us 2 nickels to put in our table top juke box, takes our drink order, returns & grabs the straw despenser out from the back of the table. We grab our straws & proceed with our order. I was so thrilled to discover that you could replace any of their burger options with a boca burger. With this option open to me I promptly ordered the Route 66, 86 mayo, on a wheat bun, side of fries. Bobby went with the Philly & fries. Then came quiet possibly the most exciting part of the meal. Our HUGE milk shakes. Yum, Yum, Yum. What we ordered we got exactly what those taste buds of ours were looking for. I opted for the butterfinger & Bobby the chocolate banana. Both = deliciousness! : ) Can't wait to go back to this fabulous 50's style diner again! : )
(5)Tashmere S.
Everything is a la cart so that makes it a lil expensive for just burgers. The chili fries were average. The burge was ok, and I ultimately was not satisfied with the food. The waiter was cool. I will not go there ever again.
(2)Rob M.
Brought my cousin from Germany and two sons here today, after the Acquariumgreat American burger!
(5)Jenn D.
I really needed some fries and my friend really needed a milkshake, so we decided to go for a quick downtown lunch at Johnny Rockets. I probably wouldn't have reviewed the place given that the food is pretty standard slightly better than fast food burgers and fries, but the service was so good I had to mention it. Our waiter was so sweet, recognized my friend from previous visits, and everyone in the place just seemed to be in a really good mood. One of my guilty pleasures is the way they set the vibe with oldies and rockabilly tunes; they even give you a nickel to put in the table jukebox! I'm guessing the prices are so high because it's walking distance from the aquarium and tourists like their burgers and fries (ok...who doesn't? :) )? We did get a coupon for a free entree if we complete a survey, so I'll be back at least one more time.

Ordered a patty melt subbed onions for mushrooms cost about 5.50 very bland like no flavor at all except the bread, also ordered cheesey bacon fries they were covered with crazy amount of cheese and good amount of bacon for 4.50 also needed seasoning.

I started this review while waiting for my check. I gave them 3 stars. After receiving the check, they get 2. JRs is an old-fashioned diner that specializes in hamburgers and shakes. While I did not indulge in the latter, the former was a tasty specimen. I had the classic with cheese and Doug W got the St Louis. We got some fries and onion rings. DD got 2 mini hot dogs with fries. Everything tasted fine. not the greatest burger ever but fine. $30 for this feast however was more than this thrifty mom could take.

I enjoy this place. I love their burgers, you will get full off of them. They are a great size. I always get the burger with the mushrooms/cheese. They are also quick with their orders. Always look forward to seeing the smiley face that they put on the plate with the ketchup. If you are near one, you must try it. I just wish we had one in NC.
