This has become a tradition for our growing Midtown Music crowd. We always have breakfast here both the Saturday and Sunday of our stays and it always is great. The service is always as hospitable as you expect when you're in the South and their food is above adequate. I must have at least one serving of their J Christopher's grits; served with bacon and jalapeños. Amazing morning dish! We were just there and it was as great as always. Thank you J Christopher's. We'll see you next year again.

Met an Atlanta local friend who works nearby at GP while I was traveling on business. I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn about 4 blocks away (97 10th St NW) & walked to this resto for a 7:30 B-Fast Mtg. The place was colorful & well lit. Tables were clean & the dining room appeared to be neat & orderly. When I arrived my friend was already seated & I was offered a water right away by our server. I poured myself a coffee from the pot on the table & reviewed the menu. We decided on our meals & had to let our waiter know we were ready ... Several other tables started to fill up in the 10 mins we were there. I had the San Bernardino omelette which included chix, cheese, avo & pico de gallo. It was good .... Had the side of mixed-fruit & English muffin ... Interestingly, still no water!! The food was ok ... Not bad but just averaged. This place looks like it has potential but they need to work on customer service & the response time was less than adequate. 2 stars.

The service isn't the fastest but it's also not bad either. Our server was friendly and he was willing to get us what we wanted when we asked. They did bring me the wrong entree initially and I'm not sure what they did with it when they took it back but I ordered the spinach and feta skillet which was phenomenal. Their coffee is also really good - it's worth the wait.

We got here around 8:30 am on a Sunday morning. It wasn't too packed, but got busier as we sat there. Service was quick. I got eggs, home fries and an english muffin. I would love to tell you how they tasted but, when I went to put some salt on my meal, it came out way too quickly and my food ended up way over salted. I suffered through my salt meal and then order a biscuit and gravy, which was great. The biscuit was light and fluffy and the gravy was just so good, not too spicy (which can sometimes be the case).

I went for brunch on yesterday and everything was going ok until I found a long piece of hair in my potatoes. I was calm spoke with waiter first then manager came and apologize and offered to remake breakfast and said she would take care of my bill. So, the bill came I received a bill so I looked and I was being charged for an item that came with my breakfast. My breakfast total was like $12 bucks and the manager tried to charge me $8 bucks for my pancakes that was part of my meal. I was really upset she took care of it but it's the point. Why would the manager charge me for an item that came with my breakfast! I will not be returning!

This is a fine brunch joint, but I'm not sure it lived up to my expectations. I was sad to learn that the Ponce location closed recently as it was a close neighborhood stop for me. Visited the Peachtree location at about 11:30am on a Sunday and was seated right away (very welcome at any weekend brunch spot). This is a bustling place but not overly stressful. Service was great and food was fast. I wasn't super impressed by my turkey avocado skillet. It would have been better with turkey sausage rather than chopped turkey cold cuts and I'm pretty sure there was just a dollop of guacamole on top rather than actual avocado. Not necessarily false advertising I guess but also not very memorable. Standard breakfast food for the price.

Good little breakfast place. It's menu is extensive and it's kind of like the McDonald's of fat food breakfast but better. The atmosphere is brightly lit and comfortable. The service was very friendly and timely. The prices are very reasonable too. I'd go back for a breakfast.

I've heard so much about this place and let's see idk maybe I just wasn't completely sold on the eggs Benedict! It was good but it wasn't nothing that id break my neck to go and order again! My friend that treated me seems to be a big fan and when he ordered his cinnamon roll it came out on a warm plate but the bun was cold.. Weird.. And then our waitress was kind of air-head ish if that's a word lol really sweet but just.. Let me leave it at that. So the question is will I return? I can't answer that yet.. Let me know when the mimosas are poppin and I might consider!

This place was AWESOME!!! Their menu was classic yet diverse. The staff was attentive and very helpful with my food choice. Their granola blueberry pancakes were delicious. Although it was hard for me to chew due to my braces, the staff switched it out for the maple French toast. Their free wifi did not work well, it kept kicking me off.

This place should not be open. I had the grilled chicken salad. It had brown advocado slices and chicken from a day or two prior. I also tried the strawberry waffle the fresh strawberries were good but the waffle was disgusting. I tried the egg white and turkey bacon that was bad too. The service is ok they acknowledge you but rarely give refills and check on you after the meal is served. I just don't understand how this place is still in business.

Do not go out of your way for this place. If you can walk here or the drive is 10 minutes or so fine. If you are any farther just go somewhere else. It's not that it is bad. It's just OK though. The service can be hit or miss. I liked the servers for the most part. They just moved at a very slow pace. There were several mistakes with our orders (both days). I'm not sure if this was a server or kitchen issue. I did love the fiesta dishes and the turkey bacon/turkey sausage option. The coffee was pretty good too. I wasn't able to try anything else in Atlanta for breakfast on this trip. I hear there are many better options though.

I've eaten breakfast at this location and it's been fine, but their staff clearly has difficulty managing the workload when it's busy. Tried to place a lunch pickup order for me and my colleagues and was first hung up on while on hold, then on hold for over 5 minutes with no answer, and then their phone was a busy signal. They won't be getting our business with this level of customer service.

Big fan of breakfast? Well they specialize in it. It's not the fancy (what am I really eating) type of place but its normal, hearty good food. Pancakes, sausage, coffee, toast and such. I ordered the chicken crepes. Basic but they are so yummy! This is one of the best places to go to for "nothing fancy" just really delicious breakfast or brunch. Sometime you don't need the bells and whistles, just good service and savory food. That what I come here for!

I've always had "ok" experiences here, but this one was bad enough to Yelp about. The Coke was almost out and looked like sweet tea. Any remotely coherent server would notice. The server brought out the wrong omelette. When we said it was the wrong one, she argued, "No, you ordered (insert server drivel here)." What she claimed was something we would have never tried anyway. The replacement omelette took 20 minutes. Meanwhile, we ran out of our Sweet Tea version of Coke Classic. No apologies, no have a good day, no get outta here. Nothing.

Maybe it was their unique collection of art or the juxtaposition of it. Seeing a portrait JFK staring across the restaurant to Winston Churchhill and a pack of dogs is quite interesting. Or maybe being at the restaurant at 7:30am for a work related breakfast left me in a daze. Whatever the reason, my experience at J. Christophers was definitely a memorable one. J. Christophers serves typical American fare of breakfast and lunch with a 'flair'. You will find favorites like Eggs Benedict, Omelets, and breakfast skillets (served over roasted potatoes). What you will also find are Blueberry Crunch Cakes, blueberry pancakes made with crunchy granola. From a coworker told me they are the best thing on the menu. I would have to find out another day. I ordered the San Bernardino Omelet. The San Bernardino Omelet was good, but nothing spectacular. It's stuffed with diced chicken, avocado, pico, and cheddar and jack cheeses and served with an English Muffin and oven-roasted potatoes. The omelet was a bit dry for my taste and didn't offer much chicken. The English Muffin was pretty good. Potatoes were plentiful but needed additional seasoning. Luckily table salt and pepper is standard here. Considering our table had well over 20 people, the service was spectacular. Our orders came out correct and timely. Not once, did we have to ask for a refill on any beverages. Overall my breakfast experience was decent. The food was a bit lacking, but then again that's what I get for not ordering their specialty. (My coworker was very pleased with her Blueberry Crunch Cakes.) Service alone deserves 5 stars. J. Christophers worth a try if not for their breakfast, their unique collection of artwork is worth a look.

Lord have mercy. Bless their hearts. If you have lived in the south long enough you know "bless your heart" is a nice way of insulting someone. Jeeeeesh My friend and I went here on a whim for breakfast on Labor Day. We only picked this location because she had to go to work and it was close to her job. If she didn't have to go to work we would have gone to the location in Vinings. I figured they would be busy because it was a holiday. That's a given for any breakfast place...I used to work at one so I will generally cut a restaurant a little bit of slack on holidays because I know it can be a mess. I noticed the hostess didn't just double and triple seat the waiters/waitresses which was probably good because I think these precious lambs that work here are just a tad bit slow... My friend ordered their skillet after asking numerous questions because she hasn't even eaten at J Chrisopher's before. She asked for her eggs to be scrambled instead of sunny side up. I ordered the platter that came with the Blueberry Crunch pancakes and requested a bajillion times that my bacon be crispy. I can't eat bacon that is still oinking. I need crispy. Like almost burnt. Imagine my surprise as I see our waitress walking towards our table and the first thing that catches my eye is that my friend's skillet still has sunny side up eggs on it. She mentions it to the waitress and she's like "oh yeah I noticed that walking over here". GIRL!!! If you noticed that why didn't you turn back around and take it to the kitchen, kindly let them know they messed up and come back and notify us? But even still guess what else was wrong. My bacon. Clearly if I can still see fat on it, it ain't crispy. Sorry dear. She wanted to take my WHOLE plate back for that bacon. I was like sweetie just get a small plate so I can put the bacon on it and keep my food because I am starving. So she did do that but naw boo I'm not letting you take my whole plate to the kitchen. No. Ma'am. Siiiiiiigh I will go back to Vinings next time.

An excellent brunch selection at reasonable prices and friendly service. I rarely rate chain restaurants, but must say not being from the area I would not have had any clue it was a chain. The midtown location was clean, well sized, and had plenty of outdoor seating. I recommend it as a low-cost brunch option.

My oh my the gingerbread waffles scream, "amazing!" with every bite! They only serve it from thanksgiving til New Year's Eve. The offerings throughout the year are filling and tasty so do not hesitate stopping by for breakfast or lunch. Huge omelettes, great eggs Benedict, sandwiches and sweet waitstaff equal a grand experience and worth a visit when in decatur ! Also the booths can hold three people since they are so long and roomy- enjoy!

As far as breakfast/brunch places in Atlanta go, you can do better than J. Christophers. The atmosphere is generic and the food is about the same. I have been twice on Saturday morning and there was only a short wait both times. The portions are large and reasonably priced. I have gotten eggs benedict and an omelet both served with potatoes. The food is relatively tasteless and unmemorable. There was nothing horrible about my experiences here but also nothing worth writing home about. Parking is available in the deck next door and the hostess is happy to validate your parking ticket.

We went here in a pinch, and let me say that I won't be going back again. Better to hit Babs Midtown. Here's why. With a wind turbine blasting like they're testing a space shuttle inside the restaurant, plan on having your conversation compromised. The coffee was awful, leading me to suspect that their beverage manager doesn't actually drink it. Tasted like 6-months-passed Lipton tea. I ordered an egg-white omelet that had on intelligible flavor or ingredients - it was just a flat slab of egg whites that did nothing interesting. My co-diners had eggs benny, and it was painfully average. Potatoes were undercooked and tasted processed and not fresh. Last question: what in the world is going on with this city's breakfast choices? I'm at a loss. See my review for The Flying Biscuit and you'll understand my frustration.

The atmosphere is as good as the food, with large hanging pictures/paintings of presidents, musicians, art and other things it definitely fits in good with a relaxed wake up environment. Honestly the only thing I've ever had there is the eggs Benedict and coffee with the occasional fresh squeezed orange juice, but on that alone I suggest the restaurant.

My hotel was nearby and I ended up eating here three mornings in a row. Quickly prepared basic dishes served by a friendly staff. Great part is that it's half the price of a comparable meal at the hotel. In and out in 30 minutes!

Stick with the breakfast menu, and you should enjoy your J. Christopher's experience. Sure, it's just breakfast, but they know how to cook eggs to order, as evidenced by a recent trip with out of town guests. Our table ran the gamut from sunny-side-up to over easy, over medium and over hard. All eggs were cooked to everyone's satisfaction. I usually prefer to order a custom egg white omelet -- turkey, spinach, mushroom and feta -- but for a Sunday brunch splurge, the "Route 66" hit the spot. (Just don't tell me how much sodium and calories I consumed. I'm still in denial.) Service is very friendly, but not always efficient. Waiting for coffee at a breakfast place is frustrating. And paying an extra $1.50 for a tiny container of real maple syrup feels like a rip-off. And then there's those garish wall hangings. (I cannot call it art.) But those are minor nits, and I'd rather eat here than spend my Sunday morning waiting in line at the Flying Biscuit.

extra star this time for two reasons: open on Sunday at 7am, without blaring you to death with lights and sounds; friendly, but not obnoxious staff at 7am. Thank you. I never get brekkie out 'cause it's either too early or too late (thanks to ever changing work schedules), and the WH just makes me sick for an entire day. Extra star for our server being patient, and making helpful suggestions. Blueberry granola pancakes were stellar. The "short" stack is the size of two frizbees. Even though the corned beef hash came from a can, it was fried crispy and not terribly salty. A sunny up egg would've made it pop; I'll know for the next time. I like that you can order most of the menu ala carte as well...we were able to put together our own buffet for less than $20. The only bummer: the walk home is uphill ;-).

I wish I could give zero stars... This place was just awful, from the service to the food. I went here with a group of people for Sunday morning brunch, and the place seemed crowded and the ambiance seemed okay, so I decided to give this place a chance despite the not-so-good yelp reviews. First, the waitress tried to nickel and dime everyone at the table by asking us if we wanted cheese on our food, not telling us that they would charge like a dollar for a few sprinkles of cheddar. Lame. She also totally forgot to take someone's order. Rude. I ordered the eggs Benedict with the breakfast potatoes, and a few other people at the table got either eggs Benedict or their eggs Christopher which is the same thing except it has tomato or something. Of course, the food looked okay when it came out, but no one at the table with any sort of eggs Benedict-type dish had a runny egg. The eggs were essentially hard boiled. Really? Like a breakfast place doesn't know how to cook a runny egg? Come on. And it wasn't just my dish but it was EVERYONE'S dish that had these hard boiled eggs. These people are just screw ups. Plus the potatoes were super hard and grainy like they were cooked yesterday and heated up in the microwave. Who likes reheated crappy fried potatoes? Like no one. What an awful place.

Heed the reviews. Extremely slow service (at Noon on a Friday when the restaurant isn't nearly half full). My order came out wrong and I had to send it back. They gave me the wrong bread and overcooked my eggs. How do you mess up eggs at a breakfast-only restaurant!? That's your specialty!! The cinnamon roll was dry. Saving graces: The juevos avocados was really good! Fresh squeezed orange juice - yum!

We stayed at the Marriott Renaissance - we walked to this place for breakfast, which was enjoyable. It was crowded but not uncomfortably so. Our waitress was pleasant and the food came out fast. How was the food? Ok, it was ok. Don't get the blueberry pancakes with granola. Really, I'm not sure why I did. They were dry and granola needs yogurt or fruit not pancakes.

I went to J. Christopher's for the first time on a Sunday afternoon. We were a large party, so were seated upstairs. There are very whimsical and animated paintings on the wall which gives it a great brunchy feel. The menus are also cartoon-like which makes the place a little cheesy and chainy, though that is indeed what it is. The coffee is bottom less, and they have soy milk, which for me is always a plus. I ended up ordering the Billy Goat omelette, with grilled portabella mushrooms, fresh spinach, roasted red peppers, and goat cheese. I am very finicky in terms of healthfulness, and they were very accommodating with my substitutions for egg whites instead of regular eggs, and fruit instead of potatoes/grits. We were a large party, and the food was staggered, so we did not all finish at the same time. This was fine, but since we were there close to closing (3 o'clock) they were rushing us out the door, and being snide about the fact that they wanted us to leave. Despite the slightly rude wait staff, J. Christopher's is a solid spot for a breakfast that you'll expect.

The Service is really bad!! Nobody take responsibility to take care of customers. The head server takes no responsibility to guide or let waiters know of new guests seated . You need to either shout for them or call them out , ,to place an order. We waited for atleast 30 minutes with nobody taking an order , this was not even during peak hours..We were very disappointed , when we left the seater dint even bother to check if we had something to eat or not. She bid farewell without any clue whatsoever. Not worth coming here!!

I remember the time in my life when I actually thought J. Christopher's had good food. *sigh* I'm glad those days are behind me. To my friends: if you wanna do brunch please don't make me eat here. Thanks. It doesn't make sense to me that a place so mediocre could have such a long wait time, and yes - I'm totally guilty of waiting because my friend and brunch companion always, always, always chose JC's. Al. Ways. From bleh breakfast food to bleh service to huge wait times to their refusal to customize my omelet...the negatives are endless. The positives - I like English muffins?

This location of J Christopher's is my default "breakfast meeting" place for several reasons. First, the menu has enough variety to have something for everyone. Second, the location is perfect -- close to a MARTA station for those who take the train, and easily accessible by car for those who don't have access to MARTA. (Just make sure to tell your car-bound friends to park in the garage.) Third, on weekdays the place is empty enough that you can dine in relative privacy. The food, atmosphere and service all make this place worth coming back for more breakfast meetings. It's a safe option in that respect. After all, if you're having a business meeting, you probably don't really want the food to be the star of the show.

I go to J. Christopher's and there's nothing "wrong" with it, but unless the only places you frequent are fast food drive-thru's you've had better and most likely you make it at home better and cheaper. Some of the locations are better than others, this one has colors that just are not pleasing, but it's a convenient location to grab a bite, drop dry-cleaning and hit Publix. My favorite is the Goddess omelet or some variation of an egg white omelet that I invent depending on my mood and my husband's is the Nova and bagel Goldilocks plate.

There is nothing much too special about J. Christopher's in downtown Atlanta. Just your usual trendy breakfast & brunch cafe with okay food for relatively high prices. I ordered a coffee and omlette which ran me over $12. The food was okay, but the price will keep me from returning.

First timer at J. Christopher's and found it to be average. The coffee was really good - nice flavor. I ordered the Billy Goat (why do some places have to come up with silly names for menu items) - omelette with spinach, portabella mushroom, roasted red peppers and goat cheese. Came with roasted potatoes and english muffin. This breakfast was okay. Wish my omelette had been served hotter and the potatoes had some seasoning. As far as atmosphere, kind of bland with the exception of the random artwork displayed. Service was very good. For food only, I would give JC's 2 stars, but the service brings it up to 3.

True, breakfast is better thank lunch . . . but you can pick what you like and what you don't like here. So feel free to add to your order or delete. they accommodate. A nice feature. But for lunch, they offer a good spinach salad with goat cheese and grilled chicken. Ladies, get the dressing on the side, it's filling and pretty good.

I'll make this short. I ordered a seared ahi tuna salad for a late lunch and was pretty disappointed. The flavor of the dressing was pretty good, but the tuna had a lot of muscle/nerves which ruined the whole experience. I mentioned it to our waitress, but she didn't do anything to replace it or knock the price down. I don't think I'll be visiting this place again.

I've been dragged to several of these abominations so this is a blanket review of all J. Christophers, not just this location. I don't know how to describe this place. Gross? No. Disgusting? No, thats not it either. Delicious? Certainly not. Tasty? Nope. It's just....tasteless? Yes, I think that is the word. It must be something in the air inside their establishments or maybe my taste buds peek out from between my lips and see that we're going in there and they just shut down. Nothing in this place tastes like anything. I'm not sure how to describe it exactly because it is the wierdest thing. With places like West Egg cafe and Thumbs Up Diner I would be hard-pressed to ever set foot in a J. Christophers again. Oh, and the decor is just as tasteless. It reminds me of my Aunt Lucy's condo in Boca. Yikes.

Strawberry belgian waffle here is really good. They do not skimp on the strawberries and whipped cream. Waffles were light and crispy outside, just right. I had some caramel coffee thing and it was surprisingly good. Food was not heavy or greasy. I met someone here and it was a good place for a meeting. Waitress was attentive but did not interrupt us. Lighting is good, ambiance is quiet. I would say this is a good place for studying too. Would come back for coffee or waffles. It's true that it's just breakfast stuff that you can make at home but you can't blame them for that. So is Flying Biscuit and everyone loves them.

Yet another location of this Atlanta favorite breakfast spot, the feeling here is strangely a bit cozier than some of their older locations. We were seated in the upstairs loft area, and I felt bad for our server Ricky who had to climb the rather steep stairs, often with large quantities of food or drink in tow. Still, he was definitely on the ball and very quick to get whatever we needed. The weekend brunch menu is a little different then what's offered during the week, so be warned that some of your favorites may only show up in one place or the other. One thing that has always confused me about J. Christopher's is the incredibly bizarre artwork on the walls. In the upstairs room, we were forced to look at two weird paintings depicting terrifying clowns and an incomprehensible work including a ladder, two feathers, a floating platform, and some green beans. Yeah, its weird. Again, the food is always solid but nothing that will blow your hair back. It's a good spot for a quick, convenient, filling meal but definitely not a destination in my book.

I wish I had something new to offer on this chain, but I don't. Surprisingly, I found the experience to be universally consistent (and not in a good way). No matter which J Christopher's I eat at, I leave disappointed. The food is bleh, the service is bleh, and the atmosphere is bleh. Breakfast is probably one of the hardest things to do well. While most of the dishes are not complicated, I find that so few chefs can properly execute this meal. It's almost like the soup test for me. A good chef should be able to make a good omelette. I'm not 100% sure the problem is with the cooks at JCs. The product seems inadequate, especially given the price point. I've never had a good bagel there (or even a decent one for that matter), and the fruit has never been tasty. It doesn't help that most of the hot plates that I get have the fruit hiding under the omelette or some other hot item. The decor reminds me of an "upscale" IHOP and seems cheap. The wait staff is not well trained as they fail to provide good service regardless of location. Bottom line - eat breakfast somewhere else.

My husband and I have been several times. The food is always served lukewarm. We finally said something to the waitress, but it's just a little to late to us returning. Had a patty melt on the last visit. The meat had a really funky flavor and texture. One time my omelette was overcooked but cold. I had to get my corned beef hash reheated. The place is close to our house so we kept trying. I'd rather wait at Flying Biscuit, go to Waffle House or Silver Skillet. Especially for the price. $30 for breakfast for two is on the high side so I at least want my food hot.

I'm BACK! Yelpers! I was out of town but back and hit the famous J. Christopher's Now, I would not say famous to easy but the food was okay...just okay? Yes, that's correct....Just okay. I went here on a Sat mid-morning and had the sausage gravy skillet. Hhhhmmmmmm no sooo great...it was no Bob Evans but it was edible...meaning "safe to eat" There are tons of other nice morning breakfast food places here in ATL and therefore, I just don't know about Christopher's. However, I will give anything a 'try'...and I tried.

I had the sausage and gravy scrambler. I went by myself and am still kind of surprised at how few people in Atlanta will dine out at a casual place alone. I guess coming from up North I am just different. In any case, I had my newspapers with me, and was content. Service was great. Scrambler was mediocre, but not bad per say. Sausage lacked flavor, but worked. I mean it is breakfast sausage I guess. The potatoes somewhat resembled the kind you see at La Quinta or Holiday in at their free breakfast. VERY pedestrian! I need breakfast so this may have to work, but I did expect better. I can't wait to try The Flying Biscuit!

I came here for brunch, saw the menu, and got really excited cuz it seemed very tasty. Well, let me tell you, it is very underwhelming. I ate with 6 other people and nobody's food was memorable. The portions are large, but honestly it doesn't matter because nobody wanted to box their food anyway. My bf got a skillet and it was not good, I got potatoes, corned beef hash, eggs, and a biscuit - everything was ok, (corned beef was good) but the biscuit was the worst part, very flavorless & hard. So yeah, I'd say go to 1 of Atlanta's many other brunch spots before you go here.

I love J Christophers. This has been my favorite brunch spot forever. I come here usually on Sundays. Their freshly squeezed Orange juice is the best... need free refills =) They have awesome food for a good price. I don't usually like pancakes but they have really good blueberry crunchcakes. The setting is very chill and cute. There are unique paintings all over. Gives off a good country homey feeling. I have been to several J Christopher locations and have been pleased with them all.

My husband and I decided to try J. Christopher's since we love breakfast and it is so close to our apartment. My husband had eggs, bacon and toast. The bacon is advertised as "thick cut", but it didn't seem any different from regular bacon. Definitely not as thick as the Original Pancake House's. He also had a bite of his bacon that tasted like "rot" (as he described it). That may have been a fluke, but it was gross nonetheless.The toast was ok and the eggs were cooked well, but for the price and quality, it wasn't really worth it. I had the maple french toast, which was ok, nothing super special. There's a parking garage that's free, so that makes it pretty convenient. We probably wouldn't go again if it were more than 5 minutes away, but due to our laziness when it comes to driving anywhere/having to find parking, we may give it another try.

I have eaten at this location twice (once at a different location). I like it. I don't love it. Both times I had the bagel platter juice and coffee. Bagel platter is good, plenty of lox. The juice is ridiculously over priced and the 'house' coffee is not very good. The house coffee is the only one that you get free refills on, so that is what I get, even though it is not very good. My friend had hot tea (a tea bag and some hot water) for $2. That seems a bit much for a tea bag. The food is good. They get a good crowd. Service is good. I'll be back.

Boo! Kitchzy atmosphere & cheeky decor in a restaurant does nothing for me if I can't eat there. Hello, people, it's 2007 & we're one of the biggest cities in the U.S.. A vegan can find more to eat at a steakhouse than J. Christopher's. Choices? Side of fruit. Bowl of grits with no butter. Hell, I'd rather eat at Waffle House.

Summary: Decent Breakfast place. Nestled along West Peachtree on the ground floor of Plaza Midtown, J. Christopher's is helping this block to finally fill in. With a large number of condos and office buildings within easy walking distance, a solid breakfast place should do well both during the week and on the weekend. We arrived at 1:15 on a Sunday, and the restaurant was full. There were only two tables open, though the crowd had already peaked. J. Christopher's is dedicated to Breakfast, Brunch and Lunch and unlike every place that serves "breakfast all day," they mean it. The hours are 7am to 2pm, seven days a week. With their Midtown location, I really think J. Christopher's is blowing it by not also serving from 11pm to 4am on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. They should really try to capture the late night party crowd before somebody puts a Waffle House into the old Wolf Camera next to Noodle, and across from the Vortex, and runs away with Midtown's drunken dining. The ambiance is fun, even if the decor is a little confused. The seating and floor say "above average diner" (think, "somewhat nicer than a new IHOP"), but there is art covering every single wall. Some of the canvases are gigantic, too. The seating and walls don't really go together, but the overall environment is nice. There is sidewalk seating, a large dining area on the ground floor and a small loft area overlooking the main floor. The loft has some scary clown art, so if clowns freak you out, sit downstairs. For a restaurant that opened two days before we ate there, J. Christopher's has remarkably few teething issues: There was no host on duty, just a low table with stacks of menus. After standing there for two minutes trying to decide if we were supposed to wait to be seated or just take a menu and grab a seat, we opted for the latter (There were two tables that had been open since before we got there and more people were coming in). The manager came right over to see if we were doing OK, so I expect that we were supposed to wait to be seated. From watching people come in while we ate, it seems like the restaurant is still working out their procedure to get people to their seats. The drink service was a little slow too, but having just opened, I'm sure the staff is still trying to get their bearings. Our waiter, Josh, took everyone's order without writing anything down. My dish, Pantry Feast, was one of those where every selection has an alternative, such "oven-roasted potatoes or grits," while one of my friends built her order a la carte. Even with that and one additional order, everything came out properly. Everyone gave the food a thumbs up. My bacon, eggs, cantaloupe and oven-roasted potatoes were good. Not amazing, just solid. The blueberry pancakes were a different matter. I was a little hesitant to order pancakes with granola all over them, but what a nice surprise! The pancakes had real blueberries inside along with fresh whole blueberries on top. Juicy! The real bonus was the granola, which actually fixed something that has annoyed me about pancakes my whole life. I like lots of syrup on my pancakes, waffles and french toast. Waffles and french toast can usually take it, but pancakes tend to get really mushy. With the granola, however, they retained all the yummy flavor of blueberry pancakes while adding a good crunchy texture. The granola did not really contribute anything to the flavor, but it was a major bonus to the texture. In conclusion... Food: Decent Price: Decent ($10 for two blueberry pancakes, eggs, bacon, fruit and home fries -- all of it yummy) Ambiance: Decent (The art gives you something to look at if you're still not sure about the person you woke up with). Service: Decent and friendly (Sometimes a little slow, but they've only been open two days, so I'm not surprised that they're still learning the ropes. I certainly wasn't slow enough to be upsetting). Overall, I'm happy to eat there when I'm in the mood for breakfast and don't want to make the trek to someplace truly amazing like Highland Bakery or West Egg. J. Christopher's isn't good enough that I'm going to rave about it to people who don't live within walking distance, but it is definitely a solid and convenient choice if you are already nearby.

My partner Ray and I were out walking the other day when he suggested "I'll buy ya breakfast at J. Christopher's." Now that's kinda funny, cuz we live in the building (Plaza Midtown) but had not been there yet. I had one of their skillet dishes and it was delish...however, ask for the extra egg...two is not enough for all the potatoes, ham and good stuff you get. Liked the food....I just hate paying $25 for breakfast. Rest assured there will be no Waffle House on Peachtree (T Mobile got the Wolf Camera spot) I can only tell you , Denny's would make a killing if they opened in Midtown...but I doubt that will happen! J. Christopher's would be a fun place for a Yelp Breakfast!! There's an event idea...we'd just have to get there early or late! Business is booming..and glad to hear it on W. Peachtree. Wait till the Hotel Palomar opens also!!!

I love the skillet with the spinach, bacon, eggs, and blue cheese... but I don't get to enjoy it very often at this location. I once went and waited for over 5 minutes for a menu and when I asked what the hold up was, the waiter said "we ran out of menus"? Wad? Really? The place wasn't even packed. They need to get it together at this location. The Smyrna/ Vinings location is much better.

me & a friend went to j. christopher's for sunday brunch and had such a good time. we were a little worried because we thought there would be a ridiculous wait time, but to our pleasant surprize, we were seated right away. my girl often frequents this spot so she has a favorite server - he was our server this time and was such a sweetie! i'm all about customer service and our guy went above and beyond. shouts out to you boo! i was craving something sweet and really bad for me so i ordered a belgian waffle with a side of bacon. i practically liked the plate. it was soo good! the waffle was light and fluffy without being doughy. the bacon was good, too. not at all greasy. my girl ordered a mixed green salad (i forgot what type dressing she requested) and enjoyed it, too. it was my first time going to j. christopher's but it certainly won't be my last...

I had a really quick little breakfast here on my way to the GA tech conference center and it hit the spot. The staff was super friendly and cheery for it being so early in the morning, and didn't seem to mind at all when I asked for everything in to go containers so I could run out the door. I only got oatmeal and coffee, but my Irish oatmeal was very good, and based on the friendly service alone I would certainly come back here to try more of their offerings. Reading the other reviews, I definitely wish I had come back here for the chocolate chip pancakes!

Not been to the midtown location. went to the Roswell location for lunch. The building is supposed to be haunted. the waitress entertained us with tales of having seen and heard the ghosts in the building. That was the memorable part. I didn't enjoy my lunch. not a lot of options.

One Yelper put it best by saying that it's like paying for food that you could totally cook up yourself at home but don't because you're just to damn lazy. I dub this place with 2 stars because they give you a decent, relatively inexpensive breakfast. I got the Veggie omlete...came out flat (i like my restaurant eggs to be nice a fluffy!!) with nearly no taste.The potatoes and english muffin were good , but seriously, can anyone even screw an english muffin up?!?! My friend got the eggs benedict which looked and tasted much better than mine...should def go back and try that out. The waiter was very friendly, so that is one of the more redeeming qualities of the place. Better off trecking it to Crescent Moon or waiting it out at Flying Biscuit.

It took me quite some time to even notice that this place exists. I have walked by numerous times and not noticed this place. The inside is nice and quaint and spacious. The food is not so good. I have been bad twice and tried a standard egg, home fries, pancakes and also a special Godfather omelet. I would definitely prefer a McDonald's breakfast platter over this.

Wow, J. Christopher's is exactly what I was looking for this morning! I love being in Midtown because you just FEEL like you're in the thick of the whole city hustle and bustle. Conveniently, you don't have to feel the hustle and bustle when you're looking for a parking space. They have a parking garage attached directly to the restaurant! I was seated super fast, the entire staff are all bundles of smiles and friendliness. The service is at lightning speed. I'm incredibly impressed. I ordered the chocolate chip pancakes and it was perfect. Exactly what I wanted. I would definitely recommend this place. I know it's sort of a local chain, because they have restaurants all over the Atlanta metro-area. I can't wait for another breakfast in Midtown!

I always walk by this place on my way to school and yesterday I didn't have anything at home, so I thought I would treat myself to breakfast. I arrived at 10 on a Friday morning, there were 2 other people in the restaurant, the waitstaff was in the back counting their tips, I waited awhile and finally got some coffee. Service was mediocre in general. The place looks odd inside. There are these random huge paintings. There is no rhyme or reason as to why these paintings were chosen, it was all very mismatched, a weird painting of JFK and then a badly done portrait if some dogs . . . The menu is huge and many things sounded appetizing. I was in the mood for something savory so I ordered the spinach and bacon skillet. The menu said is was potatoes, with spinach, dried tomatoes, bacon, blue cheese, and 2 eggs on top. It was served in an iron skillet. Uhhh, it was soooo disappointing. I swear it looked like someone cut 2 spinach leaves into tiny strips and tossed them into a load of potatoes. You couldn't taste the spinach at all. The bacon, blue cheese, and tomatoes were also undetectable! It was basically some undercooked potatoes with 2 eggs on top, and it cost 9.25!!! It was edible and filled me up, but not good enough for me to ever want to go back.

In a nutshell, this place is cute. The decor is mismatched, with giant portraits of former presidents and other random paintings, but it works. I loved the fact that all the tables are set with coffee mugs already in place (How did they know I wanted coffee??). We had a bit of a wait, since it was Sunday and people tend to like brunch even more on Sundays (fyi: come early or prepare to wait for a bit) but it wasn't too long. I enjoyed my meal; I had one of their "build your own" omelets (bacon, cheese, onions, and spinach) with grits and an english muffin. Seriously, my omlete was delicious. Their menu also has other typical American breakfast items: pancakes, yogurt parfaits, french toast, etc. The wait staff seemed friendly - our waiter was nice. The restaurant wasn't absolutely amazing, but it was definitely worth the price. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a fairly quick and inexpensive brunch in midtown Atlanta.

Ive been here twice and i think that the brunch is okay. Its not the best brunch, but its doable. If you dont feel like going far and live in the area, its not a bad place to come and have brunch.
