Il Bacio is a solid choice for a good pizza meal if you are in the area. I have dropped in a couple of times, usually in association with a visit to home Depot but occasionally on a lark while driving by, and always had a pleasant experience. They sell pizza by the slice in the afternoons, and it is both affordable and tasty. The staff are nice, and the interior belies its strip mall location. As another review indicated, they are not going to win any awards for innovation, but here on Yelp it is getting reviewed by a bunch of foodies who go to high end restaurants. When you are in the area and need good food fast, you'll be hard pressed to do better.

I heard about Il Bacio from a friend who was hosting her farewell party there. Italian for "The Kiss", Il Bacio mainly serves Italian dishes, with some American dishes such as chicken wings and fries. The establishment's look and feel is modern, with no Italian feel to it, but the food makes up for that. The waiters were diligent and quick to seat out large party of nine. During our time looking through the menu and getting our drinks, we were served focaccia bread. Il Bacio is also the place where I first tried white wine. It was a definite compliment to my meal as it was tangy and not that strong for me. For my entrée, I orders lobster ravioli topped with shrimp and a mixture of diced tomatoes and basil lathered in a light wine sauce. It was very different from the standard beef ravioli I've had, as it was lighter on the stomach, but still filling. Afterwards, I had room for dessert, and ordered a chocolate gelato on top of a brownie. The gelato was very creamy and smooth, and, along with the brownie, satisfied my sweet tooth. I would definitely go back for the lobster ravioli and gelato, and have been trying to get my family to try it out, as we are all fans of Italian and Mediterranean cuisine.

I had some free pizza from here once, it was actually pretty good. They were serving pizza to people stuck in traffic. I finally got to eat there a couple of months ago. I was disappointed w my pasta, so was the person I was there with. It was overpriced and not delicious at all. $40 for 2 entrees and 1 salad. WTF? We didn't even eat the left overs in the fridge bc it just wasn't appetizing. Our service was good though, the waiter was very polite and attentive...too bad they couldn't make the food taste better!

I have no reason not to give 5 stars. Service was great (shout out to Christina). I mentioned I found out about their resturant on Yelp and they said that they use the reviews to improve their service and quality so you have to love that. Dinner portions were big so plan to share a salad and main dish. The tortellini was awesome and I highly recommend. Gelato was good too, but anything that is like mint chocolate chip is good. Plan to make it back here next year when we are in town. Until then.......keep smiling!

Came here on a scoutmob. The pizzas are alright. Not particularly interesting. The service was decent and the out door seating is nice thanks to umbrellas for when its extra hot. However, this place has potential to be a pretty decent pizza place if they upped the quality on their ingredients a little.

My husband and I go to this place about once per week. The food is always wonderful and they have an AMAZING gluten free pasta for my allergies. I prefer it to all other gluten free pastas that I have tried. The servers are always friendly and practically have our order memorized and the food out to the table from the moment we step into the restaurant.

We drive an 85 mile round trip just to eat there. The food is awsomely fresh, none of that prepackaged stuff.. Their Homemade Focaccia Bread is over the top. The menu is imaginative and appreciated by foodies. I have probably been there 30 times in the last 4 years and never had a bad waiter.waitress, they are all friendly and right there when you need them. The place is not huge,so that may help with the wait staff not getting lost like you see and some bigger chain restaurants. Has outdoor patio dining. Even though it is small, I have had family dinners there with 16 people and had no problems at all. you know.. I work hard for my money, and this is a place I don't feel ripped off leaving some of it there, you can tell they appreciate it. I just talked myself into making the drive tonight...

Been here numerous times and each time I have yet to find something I like, yet nothing is so terrible that I'm going to give this place a terrible rating. The food hasn't been stellar, but it's alright. I thought the place had a bit of a laid back atmosphere and seemed like it'd be a pretty nice place to consider/go to for a quick lunch. The service is also really nice. I think once was there a long wait I had to endure. I'm not sure why though. It did seem fairly busy, but other than that there usually isn't that long of a wait. =) The pizza looked/smelled really nice.... but I've never tried it. Sandwiches were so-so, and the pasta not very memorable. They're just Okay to me.~

Prices tad too high. Pizza good, sandwiches impressive. Pasta okay. I used to go there 2x/wk but no longer. The owners showed no appreciation for my business... not expressing any interest in engaging in conversation. Not a dinner place IMO... tables are crowded and uncomfortable. Reasonable quickie lunch, but management is much better at Pizzeria Venti... around the corner. They deliver Fri-Sun

Drove by this place countless times and didn't even know it was a restaurant! Discovered it through Scoutmob. Been back twice since then. The pizza is pretty good but I'm a big fan of the lasagna myself.

For the record, the restaurant is at the corner of Sidney Marcus and Piedmont, facing the former, which would have been nice to know since the address clearly indicates that it is on Piedmont. Ahem. Despite the frustration of hunting this place down, I would have to say it's a decent restaurant. I agree that it is more preferable for lunch than dinner, but make sure you are free for the entire afternoon -- the servers like to take their time. Focaccia bread basket tasted like packaging peanuts. Calamari was both crisp and tender. Made the mistake of ordering the Manhattan focaccia -- undercooked eggplant, oversalted mozzarella. Crème brûlée was tasty, but the layer of burned sugar was too thick. Would've ordered the gelato, but it was curiously missing from the dessert menu even though it's on display at the entrance. Don't be a twit and miss it like I did. Hopefully another Italian resto can open up soon in the area to give it some competition and a better alternative for the rest of us traveling around the flustercuck that is Buckhead.

The chicken salad panini is good, but this place has become less consistent recently. The only thing that is consistent is the menu which hasn't really changed in years.

The building is nice and cozy. The place was packed as a result of scoutmob. They also have very clean restrooms. We ordered a large la Diana for 17.95 with artichoke hearts, asparagus, sundried tomatoes, and mozzarella. The pizza was good as we ate all of it, but it was not as good as I expected. The crust was a little thicker than I prefer, the sauce tasted commercial, and the ingredients were somewhat bland. They also have gelato, which I found to be just ok. Overall, Il Baccio is nice but just not a top-notch pizza restaurant. Probably a 3.5*, but I will be nice because I love pizza and give II Bacio a 4*

The fish sole is VERY good - probably the best in the restaurant. It's very lemony, light, and tasty. I highly recommend it. You can sit outside in the patio and it's very nice in the spring/summer. The tilapia on mango sauce is pretty good too, but the sole on lemon is the BEST.

I remember this place a couple years ago when I just got back from 6 weeks in Italy and was going through ceprese withdrawal. I was desperate to find a place that had a decent caprese sandwich (its called the Bacio there) and so far this is the closest thing to the real deal. Just for that it deserves a 5 star. They add chicken to it, which wasn't too common in Italy, but no biggie. I've tried several of their pasta dishes but I can't remember all of them. I remember the: Linguine Alla Vongole : I liked it but if you are used to a heavy sauce this is not the dish for you (i got the white sauce, dont know how the red sauce is ). The pasta was al dente, which was perfect, I hate overcooked mushy pasta. This dish is more like a pasta in clam juice and clams on top. They gave a good amount of clams too. This portion was decent, not as big as some of their other portions. Fettuccine Alfredo: HUGE portion, very classic dish made well. I've had one of their veal dishes, but I dont remember which one. The broth/sauce was VERY flavorful but again its not a thick sauce. pizza is also very good. We got the largest traditional cheese . I don't know if their tomato sauce is fresh, nonetheless it was still good. I always plan on trying new things when I go there but I always end up getting the same thing because I like it so much.

After reading other folks review to select this place for dinner, I kind of knew what to expect. Il Bacio solidly met my expectations - namely that the pasta was good (but not as amazing as Figo) and the service was friendly. We were kindly greeted when we walked in the door and asked by more than one person if we were eating there or getting it to go. The staff was patient even as we read the whole menu two or three times. I got the arugula salad (thanks, Adrianne) - and the orecchiette with broccoli rabe (thanks, Deanna). Both were delicious, particularly the arugula, though I must say, it's not that complicated of a salad to put together. I got my food to go, so by the time that I got to it, the orecchiette and the broccoli rabe were both a little softer than I'd like. Also, the sauce was good, but had pooled in the bottom of the carton. The focaccia bread that came with it was really good - hearty but not too oily, as is somtimes the case. My friend got the bacio focaccia sandwich, and raved about it because it was just good ingredients, not to oily or doctored. I thought it was a little pricey, but the portions were so generous that it ended up being worth the value particularly since I had it for lunch today and my husband had it for dinner tonight.

The restaurant experience turned out to be pretty disappointing. Lured in by the advertisement of Sunday Brunch items. The quiche was good, but quite small given the price ($10 not including tax and tip). My friends got crepes and they were cold. No need to go out of the way to come here, nor come more than once.

Convenient but not flavorful or impressing. I recently moved closer to this establishment and figured I would give it a try. As others noted, I was rather shocked to find they had table service even though when you walk in the door you are given the feeling you order at the counter and wait for your food. I decided to eat in and check it out. There was nothing impressive about the dining area. Your basic table, chairs, and sirius radio playing music overhead. Large windows around you, but it's really not in a place that you'd want to people watch if you know the area. I arrived around 3 and was given both the lunch and dinner menus. The lunch menu had a small variety of sandwiches and a few other items. The dinner menu had a variety of items, but I was hungry and decided to order the lasagna since it should be something brought out rather quickly. I was served a small bowl of breadsticks with cold butter packs. It was dough cut into sticks and toasted. My lasagna came 30 seconds later served in a bowl. The portion was average to what other places serve. I was asked if I'd like parmesean cheese and I said yes. So they brought me a shaker of cheese. Not exactly what I was expecting. I was also brought shakers or garlic powder, red peppers, and italian seasoning. I was confused as to why until I started eating. The lasagna was overcooked noodles with ground beef and barely any cheese to be found. It was covered with a red sauce which to me was rather flavorless as well. I realized I needed to try and add my own seasonings, but it still isn't the same. While eating it, it reminded me of a beef burrito I could get with red sauce at a hole-in-the-wall Mexican place. The service was not good. I was the only table half way through my meal and I sat without anything to drink for a while. Eventually I was asked if I'd like a box, and I said I'd like tea so I could finish eating. The cost was: Lasagna $11.95 Tea $1.75 + tip I have to agree, you get better food, service, and ambiance at Olive Garden. Not sure if I'll go back since the pizzas will be made from the same sauce and such. Time will tell...

I had high hopes for this place after checking out their website. A group of six dined here on a Sunday night and did not have a great experience. Service was slow as they were understaffed. 5 of us ordered pizza while one person ordered gnocchi. I love gnocchi, but the version here was mushy and not good at all. The pizza was decent but nothing special. I think the crust was the problem. I will say the gelato looked good, but we didn't get to try it.

This was probably one of my worst Italian food experiences ever. I didn't know you could really mess it up so bad. The bruschetta was too thick and toasted. Gnocchi was gross n mushy. Calamari was just ok. The highlight of the meal was the gelato, which may not say a lot. I suppose the portion sizes were large and prices were reasonable, but nothing speaks louder than good food!

If you are looking for some great pasta, I would not advise coming to this place. The pizza has some redemption qualities, but nothing that keeps you wanting more. We decided to check this place out, as with most, because we were in the area. This is a table service restaurant, which was shocking for me, because from the outside that wasn't the impression it gives. The atmosphere is mixed, and feels like it should be a counter service type restaurant. A group of us ordered a combination of items, pizza, pasta, sandwiches, and appetizer. The lasagna tasted like Chef Boyardee, overcooked pasta, beef, and a really sweet red sauce; it floated in the red sauce. The bread sticks had no complexity to them, tasted like bread dough baked and served with packets of cold butter. The pasta dishes were less than desirable. The pizza had a pretty good flavor profile, but plenty of other places supersede the quality you'll find here. There was one redeeming quality, the gelato was amazing, but served in awkward plastic cups with sample sized spoons. Overall, I've definitely experienced better. If you have children the basic flavors will work over well with children. Nothing too spicy, fragrant, or overwhelming. I will not be back to this place anytime soon, unless I was craving some gelato.

Have been here a few times now and have settled on this being a 3 star kinda place. On to the pizza....the slices were huge, that is a bonus. The pizza took too long to get out, and then my pizza was lukewarm. How does that happen? Pizza should come out piping hot. The cheese solidifies a bit too quick, and that is nasty. I never really understood the 'pizza out of the fridge in the morning 'people. These are not my type of people! Their menu looks solid with some of my ole favorite standbys like Gnocchi, and they actually use Broccoli Rabe in their dishes, which was great to see. I was beginning to think that Broccoli Rabe was a Northeast thing since I can't find it down southbound. I give the pizza 3 stars 'just plain ole cheese in Atlanta' from the NY Pizza Guy.

After shopping nearby, a friend and I decided to find a Scoutmob deal and after seeing this, were hungry for pizza. She had grilled chicken and eggplant on hers, and I had the Parmese pizza - both were the small ones (12"), which is enough for 1-2 meals, depending on how hungry you are. You can get single slices until 4pm. Were were given warm focaccia to start, which was very good. Our pizzas came in a timely manner, and were delicious - these are artisan so don't expect Pizza Hut here. We wanted to save room for gelato for dessert, which looked delicious but both of us called it a day after 2 1/2 slices. We did both have a taste of the S'mores gelato on the way out and decided we'd definitely be back for dessert another time! Prices were reasonable for quality - I'd recommend it.

This buck head Italian restaruant is outstanding. Excellent food. Kids will not appreciate this beautiful place. Parking is no problem. Heavenly pizza. Really loved the tomato-Alfredo angel hair pasta with fresh asparagus. Eat here and I guarantee you will be back. Awesome casual atmosphere. Keep an eye out for the killer fresh custom kinds of gelato for dessert.

I really want to like this place, I really do! It's right by my office, so it would be convenient for lunch. Their Focaccia bread sandwiches are super tasty, especially the prosciutto. However, the service is just horrible! You get a lovely greeting when you come in the door and that is about as far as it goes. My last visit this week, I watched as servers bussed 3 tables, brought drink refills, walked past me multiple times and cashed out several other customers before someone so much as dropped a menu. It was more than 5 minutes before they did; I just sat there staring out with pleading eyes. I've only got an hour total for lunch folks! Finally someone dropped a menu and told me my server would be with me shortly, it was several more minutes. My waitress was nice enough, but short of taking my order she did little else. I had to flag down someone else to get my check and never got a drink refill. I almost skipped this last trip, I was worried it would be the same as before and it was just as bad as the last 2 visits. I doubt I'll be back. Oh, and don't think take out would be better. I tried that too....I think they made me wait twice as long for my food out of spite.

well i was refereed to this place from a friend who use to live in town. said it was his all time fav. place to eat, and he missed the lasagna pizza... so i decided i would give it a shot. upon entering the place was pretty small but smelled delish. there is a display case rite to the left of the door when u walk in displaying all their fresh made foccacia bread. yummmmm. so the decor and such of the restaurant is very urban/minimalist since the place isnt to big. just about 12-14 tables. however the lighting and the colors of the establishment it self are very warm and inviting. the food.... oh the food.... the menu is actually rather large and has more than enough options for most people who enjoy any type of Italian food. myself and my companion started with the calamari appatizer. So, not only was it so amazingly delicious, but also huge for the price, especially for midtown/buckhead atlanta. so for entrees i got the wild mushroom pizza. came out looking amazing as everything there seem to be doing (yes i was looking at other peoples food as it went by and on their tables.). and as i ate it. yes very very very good. not greasy good cheese great flavor all around. my companion got the evening special. which was lobster ravioli with asparagus and some sort of tomato in a garlic based butter sauce. he said it was very good and even though it didnt look like a lot was very filling. the service there was excellent. the waitress was very attentive and actually very friendly. all in all i think its a great place and probably has become one of my new top 10 places to eat in ATL. Everyone should try this place.. i dont think anyone will be disappointed.

I have been to Il Baccio twice. The first time I ordered the BBQ chicken pizza which was pretty basic - nothing really special. Then I went here again over the weekend and tried the penne alla vodka and it was delish! I have had this dish at other places in Atlanta and none of them did anything for me. The vodka sauce at Il Baccio is fabulous. I added grilled chicken to it and the chicken was tender and all white meat with no nasty fat pieces. My friend had the lasagna special which had chicken, spinach and a white cream sauce. He enjoyed it. The service was good. Glad I gave this place a second chance.

Mixed messages throughout the restaurant. Tables were all lined up in rows with one plant in the center. Atmosphere was cold, stark and blah. What looked like a brick oven was actually a commercial oven wrapped in brick appearing wall paper. The music was an odd combo of pop, rock, classic rock, hard rock and we thought we heard John Denver's Rocky Mountain High for one song. The food was ok nothing to write home about. Two of us had pizza one had pasta. 5 tables on a Monday and the food didn't arrive at the same time. The pasta arrived with slum coating on top indicating it was under the heat lamp a bit too long. While the pizza was good, flavor was not bold. The prosciutto ham was a little tough and stringy. Biting into it drug all the meat and cheese off the crust. They do serve bread but I think it is just pizza dough cut up in sticks. Butter for the bread was served in portion control servings but it was hard as a rock almost like it came out of the freezer. Won't be back. Better food and ambiance at Olive Garden.

The parents needed to go to Home Depot, I needed a free meal, so we met up here for lunch one lazy Sunday. I ordered the chicken and broccoli rabe panini with a mixed green salad (ooh, look at me, being healthy... ish). The bread was phenomenal, the chicken was dry and the broccoli rabe was, well, broccoli rabe. My mom ordered a "pizzette" which she assumed would be individually sized but it was definitely enough to feed two people. In fact, I had the other half for dinner tonight and it was pretty good, although the dough was a bit chewy. It was topped with artichoke hearts, asparagus, and sundried tomatoes and for me, that's always a winning combination. It seemed to take forever for our food to arrive, but our service was attentive and friendly. Il Bacio isn't going to win any awards for innovative cuisine, but I'd certainly return for a solid hearty meal if I had other business in this shopping center. That is, if I was able to resist the call of the Waffle House.

The homemade Triple Chocolate gelato is the best gelato I have ever eaten. My fiance got the greek salad with chicken and I got the avocado chicken sandwich and fries. All were great with good portions, but it was the gelato that topped it off. Would definitely go back for it.

So I never thought I would say this about a restaurant in a strip mall (at least its a Target strip mall), but this place is actually one of my favorite Italian spots in Buckhead. Granted, I traditionally order the same thing, but that is because it is soooo good! I'm a huge gnocchi fan and they have the best gnocchi in town. They serve it with a bolognese sauce, but their vodka sauce is to die for, so I always order it that way. Maybe I like it so much because there is vodka in it? Either way, if you're looking for a quick, casual bite (or want to pick something up to go) I would definitely recommend it.

This place was a huge disappointment. My husband and I came here because we had a Scoutmob. We sat ourselves and were quickly approached by a server who brought us our drinks promptly. Even though we were ready to order, he told us he would be back quickly. We waited and waited and he did come back. I noticed that he was actually busily working on the opposite end of the restaurant (stocking supplies???) and not even pretending to check on our table or anyone else's. There were multiple staffers chatting and hanging out in the kitchen and behind the counter, but barely any servers on the floor so we couldn't even attempt to order if we wanted to. 15 mins of waiting later, we had to flag down a different waiter to place our order. We ordered an arugala salad, a ceaser salad, and a margherita pizza. As soon as they brought our salads, we wished we had asked about portion sizes...their salads are BIG. Both were acceptable, but my husband only ate about half of his ceaser salad, and I only finished my arugala because I could barely stomach the pizza. If you go here, I would definitely recommend sharing salads. The pizza was just plain disgusting. The crust was thin but not particularly tasty, the sauce tasted like pasta sauce straight out of the jar, and the cheese and pesto had absolutely no flavor. We ate 3 of the 6 slices, and the leftovers tasted even worse. Halfway through our meal, a few large families came in and we quickly realized...everyone else was getting baskets and baskets of tasty looking bread, and we had never gotten any! clearly from other reviewers' experiences, that's the best part. too bad we were never offered any, and none of our servers (who we barely saw anyway) noticed. At that point it wasn't worth it to ask for bread, so we paid our check and left. Will definitely not be going back to this place, and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. The service is terrible, and the food is not even worth it with a 50% discount. Save your money and try someplace else in the area!

I've been twice, eaten here once. The time I was able to eat, the food was decent, the service was slow. The next time I went, I brought my family. There were about 10 empty tables in the place, and we stood by the door waiting to be seated for about 10 minutes. I walked out of the restaurant, and no one even cared.

Went at lunchtime for the pizza...someone had told me they had NY-style pizzeria slices available, so I just had to try it. I liked the crust, and the toppings were excellent, but the sauce is bland and faintly sweet (not in a good way). However, service was good, and what I saw of their non-pizza offerings looks promising enough that I am willing to give them another try.

  • Jerry T.

The pizza is good, it reminds me of a spot in the Bronx. Not exactly the greatest NY style but close enough. The chicken parm sandwich is really good and the gnocci dinner is too. The prices are good and the place has a nice feel. If you need to go shopping at HomeDepot, Best Buys, or Target it's a great spot to eat lunch and hit the stores. I wanted to give it's 3 1/2 stars but I went ahead a gave it 4 because the people are really friendly and the bathrooms are always clean.

My experience at this restaurant was so crazy. I walked in and was one of three tables in the restaurant, there were at least three waitresses (possibly for walking around I sat there for over 10 minutes waiting for somebody to come give me a menu and take my drink order once they did it took another 15 minutes for them to bring out a plate of pasta which was actually quite good but unfortunately it took another 15 minutes after I finished my meal for the waitress to come back and bring me my check. The food was great unfortunately the service was awful and I believe that if the service is this bad on the Wednesday night when there's three table some the restaurant look what it be like on a Friday or Saturday night!

Like everyone else who's reviewed this establishment, I only came because I was in the area. Me and the roomies went to Best Buy to get a new tv for fhe living room and we were hungry (and I was drunk). My roomate was paranoid of someone breaking in the car for the tv while we ate so we just ordered carry out. I forgot the name of the pizza we ordered and the website is doing me no justice by conveniently having Caesar and Tricolore Salads erroneously listed in the pizza section, in place of whatever the name of that damn pizza was. All I remember is it had chicken, onions, and mushrooms (which we had them nix because I'll gag). We also got a large order of wings, and I bought a Caesar Salad for myself. The wings and the pizza were equally satisfying but not "OMG WOW". It also seemed to take forever to get out the door and at one point I actually shouted (in a drunken stupor) "OMG what the HELL is taking so long??" as I'm chain smoking outside on the steps..lol incidentally, the food came out about a minute later. I saved the salad for lunch the next morning and the romaine was surprisingly fresh and crisp, and I was impressed with the copious amount of shaved parmesan. I live in midtown though so I would probably not go back unless to try the gelato.

My hubby and I came by here on a Sunday for lunch before stopping into Home Depot. We had eaten here a few years ago when the place first opened and initially were not impressed (something about the marinara sauce being orange not red, and really runny). However, this time around we got single (huge) slices of their different kinds of pizza displayed in the front, and we were very happy with the food. He got a slice of the chicken parm pizza and a slice of pepperoni and sausage, while I got a slice of mushroom, spinach and roasted red pepper. We loved all three, and loved it even more when our bill came out to $11. I'd give it a 3.5 and round down due to my first experience, but I think this is a pretty good joint for a strip mall and will go back.

Went back with a group of friends. Food still pretty bland, and this time the service wasn't the shining star I remembered. Sorry Il Bacio. Now you need to get better and then send me a good bogo or free something offer once you perfect your act.

I tried the pizza and the spaghetti and meatballs to get a feel for this place today. The pizza was just normal pizza. The sauce on the spaghetti was decent, but the meatballs were not very tasty. Gelato was good. I would probably give this place another try, if I even remember it.

We went to Il Bacio on a Friday during rush hour. The service was fast, the wait staff was both attentive and endearing, and the food was reasonably good for the price. I had penne pasta with vodka sauce and my date had the veal parmigiana. The penne could use more sauce and the veal was a little salty. The ambience on the inside was very nice, but we chose to sit outside, since it was a gorgeous evening. The patio overlooks Sidney Marcus/Piedmont, so city buses were the main scenery. I would definitely go back, because the service was spot-on, the parking is free, and the food is better than average. It's a great alternative to the other mid-grade Italian options in the city.

Get the arugala salad! Seriously. It's so good. delicious olives, grated strings of cheese and housemade vinagrette is so good I want to drink it. I've also enjoyed the linguine with clams - so fresh simple and full of flavor, shrimp w/ roasted garlic and rosemary, and of course the gelato. I don't live in the neighborhood anymore, but I'll drive over there for that salad. Service is friendly and family like. It's bright with windows all around and seems classier than its strip mall location.

I love this restaurant. I have never had better gnocchi, it melts in your mouth, hardly any need to chew, perfection. I also usually order the cold avocado pizza, I add chicken. It is cold, but very refreshing and filling. I have never been disappointed when patronizing this restaurant.

Been home from Il Bacio for the last couple of hours. Yum. As with all things, this one sort of slip under the radar since it was under construction for so long that I didn't think it'll open until. . it opens. :P So I have been going here for the past few months and so far, I am quite impressed with the service and menu. I haven't tried the pizzas yet (in fact, I don't usually go for pizzas anyway), but I love their pastas and entrees. My personal favorite is the Spaghetti Pepperoncini - which is basically spaghetti with olive oil, spicy sausage, pickled bell peppers and other stuff that I can't think of. If you can't decide, try that first. That and their lemon chicken too, as well as their Tiramisu (which ranks behind Golden Buddha* and California Pizza's kitchen as being the best in my book). Give this place whirl on your lunch break or dinner. *As to why a chinese restaurant would serve tiramisu, I do not know. AAAHHHHH!!!!

I've visited iL Bacio on several occasions and last night was no different--great/friendly service, terrific food and a really pleasant atmosphere. My friend and I decided to share the Calamari. Let me tell you, I think it was the best I have ever had. The batter was crisp and light and the calamari itself was tender. And the marinara sauce was really yummy. My favorite menu item is the 12" traditional pizza (Pizzette). It reminds me of Galla's. Last evening I ordered the roasted vegetable pizza which was also good. I was so full from the wonderful calamari that I only ate one slice. I'm looking forward to having a slice for lunch today.

Figo Pastas are attempting to take over the city. Il Bacio got to the new south Buckhead shopping center first. Same approximate concept - cute Italian joint, midway casual - but with a broader menu and depending on the dish, a bit more expensive. I didn't have the opportunity to chat, but the man behind the counter had a nice New York accent which gave me the impression that my pizza was about to be authentically made by a guy with Italian roots. Could very well be not true, but, hey, a nice first impression. Certain pizzas are made by the slice, and you're able to order whatever is under the shiny glass counter in the front that day. Usually something unique like artichoke pizza or some kind of seafood. I will also say that after eating just one piece, still hungry. So go for 2+. Or fill that void with the $4 gelato like I did. Guiltily, I continue to get the same pasta dish here because it was so freaking good the first time. The broccoli orecchiette had me at hello.

Shrimp and grits at an Italian place? Yes, on Sundays for brunch. And oh my goodness it's GOOD! I didn't have the pizza, but it looked so good after stuffing myself with shrimp and grits, I considered for a split second getting a slice just to try it. This place is my friends' favorite restaurant, and I can definitely see why.

This place was way off the mark. Ordered the veal marcella and not only was it not prepared as stated in the menu it tasted as though it came from the freezer section of a grocery store. I would have complained but I did not see the server for 20 more minutes when she delivered the check. The veal came in 3 slices about as thick as 2 credit cards stacked up and about 3 inches wide, drowning in a brown gravy substance. I opted for the mash potatoes and broccoli versus a side of pasta. The broccoli was actually good (reason for half of the 1 star). The "mad potatoes"...oh my, how many ways can you screw up potatoes? To start off, they have got to be frozen! Let me tell you. They were tooled into a log shape and deep fried, barely staying afloat in the brown gravy that is 1/2 inch from overflowing my plate. I also ordered water that never came and a Peroni. The Peroni came cold (the other half of the 1 star). Will not return.

Looking at all the so-so reviews I have to say that for the money (and for take out) this place is way under appreciated. My wife and I love this place. You just got to know what to order. The pizzas are good, especially the carmelized onion and gorgonzola pie. The veal and chicken saltimbocca superb. Personally, for lunch I really like the chicken parmesan il pannino sandwich. The marinara sauce is delicious. You just better be hungry. The portions are huge. My wife loves the linguine with white clam sauce. The arugula salad is always terrific and plenty to share with three people. And, oh yeah, the gelato is the real thing.

like pretty much everyone else we tried this place cause it was convenient. I had the shrimp parm sandwhich w/ greens for lunch, the mr. had the fried cod sandwhich... both were surpisingly good. we'll def. go back here when we are in the area. oh yeah... the pistachio gelato was very good, we ordered a small but b/w us and couldn't finish. the "salad pizza" that the dude next to me ordered looked awesome... so i'm going to try that next time.

Maybe we should have gotten pizza, or maybe it was an off night. Tonight my friend and I wanted Italian, and we had heard good things about this place. When we got there the place was empty. We walked in and all the servers were standing in a group in the back, no music playing, and the atmosphere seemed so unwelcoming. I ordered eggplant parm, and my friend ordered veal marsala. Both of our meals were absolutely terrible to say the least. My eggplant was mushy, tasteless, and that wasn't even the grossest part. I'm pretty sure the sauce was nothing other than a can of crushed tomatoes. It was disturbingly watery, and tasted like metal. I then went to eat the pasta on the side, and even that was awful! My friend's Veal Marsala was no better. Her dinner as well (which obviously was in a different sauce) seemed to be drowning in water, and apparently had no flavor either. Two polar opposite entrees, two identical problems. Our server never checked in to see how things were. I think she knew how grossed out the food made us because, when we asked for our checks, we were still sitting with nearly full plates of food that had only been picked at. She asked if she could clear our plates, and didn't ask if we wanted a box to bring home the food (seemed to be an obvious sign of her awareness to our dissatisfaction) I would maybe give it another chance to try the pizza, since that seems to be what all the good reviews are about. But, never again would I order an entree there. Really a shame for a Mom and Pop Italian place.

I kinda liked this place.. I always drive by and see it from the road. It looks cute from the outside. Its small and intimate on the inside. It wasn't crowded at all. The waitress was attentive but didnt hover (thank you!!). I really liked the bread there. And their vodka sauce was delicious! the portions were huge.. and the food tasted just as good, if not better, as leftovers. I will be going back soon!

Good pizzas. I lived across the street at the Aventine, so I got this food pretty often. The service there was always great. The food was OK. Its a great place to stop in if you want to get a bite to eat at a reasonable price. It isn't anything to go out of your way for but if you stop in you won't be able to say you are disappointed.

Had an authentic and obviously homemade pasta dish here... the Orrechiette and Broccoli Rabe with a very clean, albeit bland, broth. Added some pepper flakes and grated cheese that really set it off. Nice place in an area where there's not much to brag about right now.

Had lunch at Il Bacio today. This was our second visit. The first visit was wonderful and the food was very good. Today, though, was a different story. The pasta and the sandwich we ordered was good. I, however, requested to substitute the potato croquettes for the fries that are listed as coming with the sandwiches (somehow fries do not seem to fit the Italian atmosphere here). On the menu, fries come with the sandwiches and the fries are priced at $3.50 on the menu (the croquettes at $4.00). The waitress did not tell me that there were no substitutions allowed and our final bill showed the full $4.00 being charged for the croquettes. We questioned this and the waitress had the owner come over. He was very rude and asked us if there was a problem. We explained the situation and he rudely told us that there were no substitutions and walked away. I continued to talk to him and explain what happened as I thought it very rude to just dismiss me and my concerns. I ended up asking the waitress for the fries that would normally come with the sandwich. I had paid for something I really did not want (and the croquettes were not very good); if there are "no substitutions", then the fries should have been on my plate to begin with. The owner brought the fries to the table in a paper bag and announced to us and the rest of the restaurant that we had made the waitress cry! This was the worst case of customer service I have ever encountered. I might understand a manager mishandling a situation like this, but not the owner. We will not eat there again and I would suspect that the owner would ask us to leave if we returned. My partner mentioned to me what a jerk the owner was. The owner obviously heard this and came back to the table to demand that we leave and that he was calling security. This is no way to run a business and I really question the owners' description of the kind of the place they want this restaurant to be.

Its called Figo - and it does it much better. Don't get me wrong - some things are good (the pizzas mostly - but not the BBQ Chix unless you like really sweet sauce). The portions are a nice size but mostly lacked good flavor combinations, each dish just always missed the mark. One of the disappointments: Eggplant Parmesan (one of my fav dishes to eat and make) and this one is a blob of eggplant and sauce. :(

I went here a few weeks ago with my best friend, and we definitely plan to be regulars here since we're gonna be living literally across the way. It's kinda in a strip-mall type of setting....next to some random chain restaurants. So I wasn't expecting much when we first walked in. They serve everything a typical Italian restaurant would and have some of their own unique homemade dishes. Someone mentioned the pizza-salad thing she wasn't fond of, but we thought it was quite good. :) It's like a super healthy slice of pizza (haha...if that really exists). The service was spectacular....it might have been due to the fact that we were the only ones in there at the time, but either way, the owners and the servers were super friendly and suggested some great dishes for us to try. But anyways, I'd definitely recommend this place if you like good food at very reasonable prices.

Finally! Great Italian food in Atlanta. Lunchtime, go in for a slice and you'll swear it was just teleported to you from the Bronx (which for my Southern friends is a good thing.) Haven't had anything that wasn't fantastic and love their authentic Gelato. Tell Frank that "Jeff from Yonkers" sent you.

I've become a regular! Finally for someone who has almost NO loyalty to restaurants-I generally go to ones that are close and convenient-I found a place that keeps me happy. For the price, flavors, unique menu items to Atlanta (and having the owners actually present) -It's great. Try the shrimp parm! My only suggestion to them would be to add some fabric above the ductwork to deaden the noise when its busy. Love the patio and gelato, too. Give them a try before the lines start occuring-it's catching on. Michael G.

As Rachel Ray would put it...YUM-O! To be honest, I really wasn't expecting much out of this place. The only reason we came in here was because Tin Drum closed at 9:00! By the way, why do things in Atlanta close so early? Anyways, I wasn't sure if they were going to accept me in my gym gear, but they welcomed us with open arms! The menu is rather large and there were so many decisions to make! Out of my 4 choices the waiter recommended the Eggplant Parmesan Sandwich and spinach salad, while David got the Chicken Parmesan Sandwich with sauteed spinach. Now, I usually know if an Italian restaurant is good by the cheese they serve. I was very pleased to see that the Parmesan on my salad was fresh and not out of a plastic container! The eggplant was great as well! There was a good balance of not too mushy or too solid...and it did not taste too eggplanty (Is that even a word?!?!) David enjoyed his Chicken Parmesan and said the olive oil used to cook the spinach was superb. Even the fries were tasty! I'll definitely be heading back here, especially for the gelato. I heart the stuff and saw interesting flavors like Sm'ores and The Green Monster!

I went to the shopping center where Il Bacio is located only because I had a Starbucks gift card and I wanted to use it. I sat in my car in front of Starbucks and saw a man walk out of Starbucks with a pizza box and he sat in one of the chairs on the patio and began tearing into some pizza that looked really good. Especially with the way he was eating it I knew he was enjoying it! So I looked around to see where he might have gotten the pizza from and I saw Il Bacio. I didn't even get the chance to use my Starbucks gift card. I went to Il Bacio. I ordered 2 slices of pizza. Sausage and mushroom and Lasagne pizza. The Lasagne pizza was damn good!! So good that I went back the following day and ordered a lasagne pizzeta. I'm no pizza connoisseur but all I know is that it was delicious. The slices are quite large and the crust was thin and really good. I'm going back tonight because I told my friend about the pizza and he wants to try it too. Since I've tried nothing else on the menu I can't see myself giving it 5 stars. Also, just want to mention that the service was fine. Nothing outstanding but no reason to not back again.

Location: in the heart of buckhead shopping and more! Across the street from many Marshalls Homegoods and more. Great spot to shop and eat. Service: Servers were quick and knowledgable. Would have been nice to hear recommendations or something other than "what do you want" but it isn't a 5 star restaurant, so no complaints there. Drinks: I chose a cappuccino for my drink today and it was out of this world! I am a huge coffee fan and this was quite the treat! Tasted fresh and well made. Food: There were 3 menus to choose from which made it tough to decide on something. Sunday brunch menu, lunch menu, and the regular menu. I ordered the Chicken and Avocado sandwich. The Focaccia bread was delicious and fresh. Overall I would give 5 stars but my only recommendation is to come during lunch for almost 50% the regular menu prices. It feels more like a lunch spot than a dinner spot.

Worst experience I have EVER had at a restaurant in Atlanta. Super slow service, food wasn't great and then when I expressed my concerns with the manager and owner, their response was "we can't do anything. I'm sorry but oh well. I hope you come back." Are you kidding me? Am I being pranked? I addressed this with the owner out of courtesy because as a business owner, I would want to know if a customer wasn't satisfied with their experience. Contrary to what reviewer Chris M. said, I wasn't looking for or needed a free meal. I paid the bill before my conversation with the owner and I tipped our waitress very well! What happened to the customer being always right? There are too many restaurants in Atlanta to spend my money somewhere where I have to beg for great service and great food.

we came here on a quiet monday night after browsing yelp for a bite to eat in the area. we were greeted by a chef behind the counter and told to seat ourselves. this place is super cozy and clean, and there are a few tvs to catch a game or the news. outdoor seating is also available. our server came shortly after with complimentary bread, which was warm, crusty, and perfect with olive oil and balsamic. just enough to whet your appetite. I was torn between pizza and pasta, but ultimately decided on my standby when I can't choose, eggplant parmigiana with pasta marinara. my boyfriend ordered the milanese panini. food came out quickly. the sauce on my entree was watery and under-seasoned for my liking, however the panini was delicious. the breaded chicken was crisp but still juicy, the pesto was salty and herbaceous, but the fries were slightly overcooked. overall, food was decent. perhaps we caught them on an off night because previous reviews had us excited to check this place out. great service and fair prices make this a 3-star review.

Second time eating here, once dining in and then tonight to-go. Both times have been very good experiences. I've had: salmon with lemon, garlic and shaved asparagus over spinach Vodka Sauce pizza Gnocchi Penne alla vodka Calamari Caesar Salad The highlight for me was the salmon dish. It was cooked perfect and with little to no butter. Definitely a plus. The Gnocchi is homemade and great. Very soft and melts in the mouth. As you can tell I'm a big pan of their "pink" sauces. The vodka sauce is great as is the Bolognese cream sauce that is on the gnocchi. I ordered out tonight but last time I are there I remember the service being good- our waiter was attentive but not intrusive.

I really enjoy Il Bacio, where holy smokes, you get what you pay for! Portions are huge so ignore the price (some of the prices seem a bit steep) and enjoy! I've only patroned Il Bacio for lunch, but I'm sure its lovely for dinner too. For lunch, I've typically ordered 2 slices and split a house salad with a friend, but I'm realizing this is too much food, ha! I really either need to split a salad and have 1 slice, or have 2 slices, but split the 2nd slice with someone. Their red sauce is super tasty and flavorful with lots of fresh herb taste to it. I really enjoy their spinach and mushroom pizza as well as their sausage and pepperoni. Slices are huge at lunch; just look in the case as you walk in to see what's on special. I did divert one day and ordered the chicken and avocado sandwich. The price tag was around $9 and I see why - its HUGE. I easily could have split the meal with another person and if I want it again, I will (or plan to take leftovers home). I should note that their fries are also super delicious. Service is always great and I love the folks that own this place. They are so kind and friendly and make you feel right at home.

I went here this past Saturday. I wanted something different besides your regular Pizza Hut or Domino's Pizza. The staff was very friendly upon entering. We chose to sit outside on the patio as it was a very sunny day. The waiter was very knowledgable, upbeat, and friendly. We purchased a pepperoni pizza, with feta cheese and peppers. The wait time for our food was about 10 mins and it was pretty busy. 10 mins isn't a bad wait time for pizza. The sweat tea was delicious. The pizza tasted amazing. I will be returning. It was my first time having a brick oven pizza, and I think I'm hooked.

We ordered delivery so not sure if that makes a difference. We got the cheese ravioli and the penne vodka. I've had better of both at other places. Was really looking forward to a good penne pasta. The flavors just weren't on point and didn't really even taste fully cooked. Still can't find a good Italian place near me. Orlando had some amazing places that didn't break the bank.

Not the best pizza in the world, but I'm also a firm believer in there's no such thing as a bad slice of pizza. However, their gelato is amazing! I would go out of my way to stop by and get a cup (or pint!) of gelato from here. Try the green monster!

Don't be fooled by the strip mall location. This place is legit. Went there for lunch and had the grilled shrimp and bacon on focaccia. I highly recommend. My friend had a slice of the fresh pizza and a bowl of soup. Both looked delicious. Tried some of their made-in-house gelato which was definitely good enough to make a special trip to get again. Try the "Green Monster" flavor!

Not much of a real italian restaurant. Had the spaghetti with spicy sauce - totally drowned in some nasty oil that had certainly nothing in common with olive oil. Location is just as uninspired as it gets. Better avoid the place. The others did not have any complaints. The only reason I'm giving a second star.

I'm not eating meat right now, so I stopped in to get a veggie pizza. I just so happened to drive up on this place; I was hungry and kind of just stopped at the first open eatery that I came upon at 9:30 at night. I picked the Margharita Pizza, and I must say that this was one of the best pizzas that I have ever tasted. I will definitely be back!

Ignore all the ignorant haters. Food is top shelf. Atmosphere is relaxing. Family feel atmosphere. The owner, Frank, is generous and welcoming from the minute we walked in the door. The real magic happens behind the old style western swinging kitchen doors. You'd think that the head chef would be locked up back there out of fear of letting another restaurant pick him up. He not only cooks a high class level of Italian cuisine but busses tables, wrangles wondering guests, and creates a friendly atmosphere that elevates this place to the next level. Don't miss it.

What a gem. Great fast , cheerful servers and fabulous food. We come here every time we are in the are. Today. We ordered the tuna melt and shrimp mushrooom sandwiches..both came with a generous salad with wonderful dressing. The owners are great , they work very hard and everything is fresh. The bread is made every morning. We ordered the gelato.....omg! It was delicious. Next time we may start with gelato! Highly recommend this little place, we have been here six times now and totally love it. Perfect for a quick lunch or a leisurely dinner with wine.

There are no words to fully and adequately describe how foul the food is at Il Baccio. Even the waiter warned us about the food quality, citing that the potatoes were "nasty." Please do not spend your hard earned money at this restaurant.

From the moment I walked in the door, it became clear to me from the freshly baked itlaian breads and kind waitstaff that the staff of Il Bacio Pizzeria & Trattoria truly cared about their product. I took my very charismatic server's suggestion to try a certain pizza, something that I would not typically order, and loved it so much that I was compelled to order seconds.. (Something that I would typically never do ;) ). The staff and food was exceptional; I will most certainly be back. -Alexandra Drouhard

I just tried to place an order for delivery food from Grub Hub. I was pleased with the process until I started checking out and realized an $8.95 delivery fee was being added to my order from Il Bacio. Further down the checkout form, I noticed the "tip" box was empty, which got me wondering - do they want me to tip the driver more than the $8.95 delivery fee? So I emailed GrubHub customer service and asked how much of the $8.95 delivery fee would my driver get??? The response was ZERO. So El Bacio pockets all of the $8.95 fee. For what? To put my food in a box? Hmmm...so if I come and pick up the boxed food the fee is $0.00 but if you have someone drive it to me you are going to keep $8.95 but give none to the driver? Order canceled. GrubHub is off the list of delivery services because they don't explain this clearly on their web site and I'm sure drivers are getting jipped as a result. And Il Bacio is off the list of eateries to patron because you shouldn't be charging $8.95 to prepare delivery food unless you're giving some if not all of it to the driver.

It was a Thursday night and Kevin C and I were looking for a dinner place around the Lenox area at 9:30pm. Most places were closing, yet we still wanted to try someplace new. Il Bacio is on Sydney Marcus in the Best Buy/Home Depot plaza facing the street. They closed at 10pm, so we were stoked. We were one of two tables seated. Granted, it was late on a weekday. However, it took a while for our food to come out. I got the eggplant parm sandwich based on the suggestion from the waitress. However, when it came out, the bottom sides of the eggplants were completely burnt. After eating about a third of my sandwich, I felt like I couldn't eat anymore without the carcinogens making me gag. Thankfully it came with a mixed greens salad, so I still had some food to eat. However, there was nothing memorable about the salad. Overall, it was a very underwhelming experience and I regret spending $10 there. There are plenty of other Italian restaurants that do a better job of at least not burning the eggplant parm. However, Kevin said he liked his pasta, so if you're going to eat at Il Bacio, pasta is probably the safe bet. [59 of 100]

My boss raved about the salad pizza and wanted to treat me to lunch. I hated to tell her I don't eat pizza so I figured I'd just suck it up. Well to my surprise I FREAKIN LOVED IT! We had the Avocado and thanks to Il Bocio I'm now craving it. It's a must try.

Nasty and cruel owners! Over priced food... Most is frozen and bought from trader joes and sold at an unreasonable price. Cooks don't use gloves for ready to eat products and the owners bad mouth most guest, even regulars! After visiting this restaurant where a very good friend of mine is employed and being informed, I conclude that I will not be returning! And I advice the same for anyone. In addition...A glass of Their best merlot, mezzacorona, is the sake price as a bottle at your local grocery store.

While I thought the food was a little pricey given the atmosphere of the place, the food was decent enough. The portions were larger than I expected too. I wish they had a half portion option for a lower price. I could only manage to finish half my sandwich, which was enormous. Honestly, it was wide enough that it was actually difficult to take a bite! Given the price, it's not likely a place I would frequent regularly though, since it didn't make me go "wow" or anything.

Cute little place. I'll prob come back to try the pizza. Came here on a Sunday evening, a bit nicer inside than I expected, not fancy but still casual. We liked the focaccia bread with oil and vinegar. I got the orchichette with broccoli rabe with shrimp. It was kind of salty... Another person at our table got the lasagna which looked good though. And everyone else seemed to enjoy their dishes. It also kind of took a while for our waitress to take our orders. From the time we sat down to the time she actually came and asked for our drinks, she disappeared and then came back for our orders. But other than that this place is fine. I would want to try something other than pasta next time, maybe the pizza or gelato.

I lived around the corner from this place and had never tried it until the week I was moving, also VERY skeptical of ITALIAN food in ATL being from NY and having an Italian background, First i will say I'm mad I haven't tried it sooner, heavy where it needs to be but light at the same time, I always get a Cesar salad ( half portion) and a slice before 4 if I'm in for lunch, one of two places that loads anything on the slice for you and it reminds me of home! The Cesar salad come loaded with cheese which I love so be aware and the dressing last lightly tossed, no anchovy breath here!! And home baked croutons YUM! Now for dinner I've had the vodka sauce, the broccoli rabe garlic and oil, and the tortellini with grilled chicken and spinach, and the lasagna, all amazing, usually to go as I like to eat at home but when dining in, the waitstaff is attentive and this is not a pizza parlor so don't expect that atmosphere, they do have flat screens that are silent so that's a plus for the men! And TRY THE GELATO!! They give samples too! So it can't hurt!

Man I luv this place! Cheap, Fast, Delicious, what's not to luv! You may come here for the pizza, but you won't believe how good the salads are, and you can half any of them to go with your pizza slice! Noms. Plenty of yummy options for vegetarians and the slices are cheap! Save room for Gelato, they have some of the best (and most unique flavors around)!

Meh....The lasagna was good but not great as expected. Came at lunch so perhaps a dinner atmosphere would be different.

I was really excited to try this place. Walked in and there were several tables eating so it seemed legit plus they have gelato. We were seated promptly and provided menus. And that was much pretty much it. Three servers standing at the front talking. No one came to get drinks, see if we were ready to order, etc. The menus were down and we were waiting for 15 minutes. So after having the three servers go check on the other tables and never checked on us, we went and ate at Tin Drum!

Great Italian food, great deserts, great service, nice hard working owners! We really enjoyed the food and the Tiramisu was to die for.

The BIG boss from work treated me and two other associates to a holiday lunch. This place was great for a quick hours lunch. I had a cup of egg drop spinach soup, which had me at the table wondering if I could figure out how to make this at home. I also had a shrimp avocado sandwich on foccica bread. I would pass on that in the future. I would have just rather went with a bowl of the soup and the foccicia bread. We were able to get in quickly at right after noon with no wait, which is idea when you are looking for a place for lunch. Not much interaction with our server, she took our order, brought drinks and food, but other than that she was a no-show. The guy that was clearing tables kept our table clear of dirty dishes and empty glass, so he deserve much more praise that our acutal server IMO. No issues with parking as they sit across from Home Depot and share a parking lot with them.

After a number of disappointing meals at highly reviewed spots, we were pleasantly surprised with the quality of food and service at Il Bacio. The spicy spaghetti was so delicious - a light yet satisfyingly flavorful surprise. Spicy, garlicky, buttery goodness - a great combination of sausage, al dente pasta, and spinach. We also ordered a small pizza, and I'd recommend all to dip the crust into the spicy spaghetti sauce. Delicious! I have to say, I've passed up on many opportunities to write a negative review... It was a pleasant surprise to find a great dish with great service at a neighborhood pizza place.

My favorite neighborhood spot. The staff and owners are freindly and actually speak to you.The salads are always fresh and healthy. And the gelato's--OMG--homemade and taste just like the flavor. My fav is the coconut but she made one with champagne once that was out of this world. I love this place.

Almost a year later and we visit about once a week. This continues to be one of our "go to" places to eat. The food continues to be delicious and we always leave very happy.

I ordered food from here a couple weeks ago and it was awful. I normally love bruschetta... but this was the worst I ever had. It was WAY over-seasoned and essentially inedible. The bread was soggy when it finally got to me. It just wasn't good. I ordered the Parmese pizza which has Gorgonzola, caramelized onions, and prosciutto. Sounds good... was terrible. The pizza tasted like stinky socks and was also inedible. Prosciutto should be put on a pizza in small pieces, not large strips. It makes it really difficult to eat pizza with large strips of prosciutto on it... Doesn't work at all! Overall, food was really bad. I wouldn't recommend Il Bacio.

Excellent restaurant, certainly one of my favorites in Atlanta. The wait staff is very friendly, and I already know all of them by name. The food is delicious. Especially the gnocchi, which is the best I've had at a restaurant.

I have to downgrade Il Bacio to two stars after the visits I've had here during the last year. The items that disappointed me the most were the chicken and broccoli rabe sandwich and my past favorite dish, the spaghetti pepperoncini. Both dishes completely lacked flavor. The chicken in the sandwich was dry and neither it or the broccoli rabe had any spice or herb flavor. With just a little salt, scallions, or something (anything!), this sandwich could have tasted so much better. As for the spaghetti pepperoncini, I don't know what happened to the broth that used to taste so good that I wanted to dip bread in it; I had this pasta just yesterday and was totally bummed at its flavor. Service here is still very slow. I've had several different servers - when it's been busy and when it hasn't, so it has nothing to do with the crowd; they're just slow. And when I say slow - it means I have to wave them over to ask them for more water or my check. They don't do enough checking in. The one item that remains tasty at Il Bacio is the gelato, so I'll keep stopping by for that. :-)

The service here was very good. I went for an early lunch so there weren't many diners when I arrived. My waiter took the time to share his favorites and was very attentive. I had the chicken sandwich with mozzarella , tomatoes and spinach on focaccia. The fries weren't great but not a big deal to me. Good portion - brought half home. Would go there again.

I've visited Il Bacio on several times and have enjoyed my meals for all except this last time. Normally I order a panini or a salad and I'm good with it. However on my last visit, I decided to walk on the wild side and order one of the specials that day for $17. It was a mixture of lobster stuffed ravioli and shrimp stuffed ravioli and a light wine sauce. It was covered with red peppers and asparagus as well. This dish was NOT good. The sauce was just pathetic and I'm gonna say that the lobster in the ravioli was...was minced? I didn't want that. I wanted big chunks of lobster in my mouth when I bit into a ravioli. Why didn't it taste good? Some of the ravioli was undercooked though it looked interesting being striped like a zebra. The flavors were bland. I kept trying to like this dish, but it left an awful lot to be desired. Back to the sauce, it sucked and ruined the entire dish. I enjoyed the pre-meal bread the best. The service here is pretty good. My advice is to stick to the regular items on the menu and not go for the cook's creation of the day.

Always good service. The veggie pizza was great. I wish they had a bar to sip wine and have dinner for one.

The portions are large. I've ordered the Caesar salad, and didn't expect the gigantic salad I got. So if you're getting other food, may be good to split it. The gelato was really creamy, so good. I got the mint oreo flavor. Calimari is also sharing portion, comes with a lemon wedge and a tomato based sauce on the side. Good friendly service, and the food has always been on point.

I ordered 2 slices for lunch. It is a fantastic deal as others have mentioned. I was pleasantly surprised by the crust - it was crisp and flavorful. The cheese was really good too. But the sauce, for me, was way to sweet and similar in consistency to tomato paste. Everyone was very friendly when I entered - and the gelato was a force majeur - butI was going back to work so it will have to wait until next time. Yes, there will be a next time because now I am intrigued by everyone's reports on the pasta...and gelato.

I give them 5 stars for the food, the service I give them 2 stars, but then there were 15 of us in the group, but we were all there, seated and had our drinks and waited for about 25 to 30 min for someone to take our order. When they finally took our order we got the food fast and it was very good. We will be going bad, without a large group to see how it goes.

I think mgmt stepped up their game after reading some of the negative reviews about service levels. They had quite a number of servers for the small size restaurant, and I could see the manager busy directing traffic from where I was sitting. The food was better than expected, too, except for the complimentary focaccia bread which was a little dry. BACIO - $11.95 My friend and I shared this salad, which came w/ baby spinach, avocado (beautiful & fresh), asparagus (4 big stalks), shrimp (4 jumbo size but no flavor), roasted almonds, and served w/ a warm raspberry vinaigrette. Overall a good salad, perfect size for sharing, but a little on the pricey side ... but thanks to Scoutmob, not a big deal :) PENNE ALLA VODKA - $10.95 I ordered this b/c Lisa B raved about it in her review - I agree! Creamy pink sauce w/ a touch of vodka and proscuitto (except I couldn't taste the proscuitto) - sauce was DELICIOUS!! Portion was enough for 2 meals except ... I forgot to take my leftovers home :( Bummed b/c I really restrained myself from eating too much so I'd have enough to enjoy for lunch the next day. FRESCO - $6.95 My friend had the focaccia sandwich w/ fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, olive oil, and fresh basil. I had just a bite of the mozzarella which was very good - and her sandwich had so much mozzarella, she actually took some out. Otherwise she seemed to enjoy it. The sandwiches come w/ fries or mixed greens - she got the fries which were pretty good, and they were battered like onion rings. Overall, a nice casual place with reasonable prices if you're in the area and in the mood for pizza, pasta, or sandwiches. It's not a huge restaurant so you'll want to come early or call ahead for reservations. We went for an early dinner on Saturday, and the restaurant was packed. I'd definitely come back - I'd like to try the pizza, ... but I wouldn't be surprised if I got the Penne Alla Vodka again :) FYI - even though the street address is Piedmont Rd, they're actually on Sidney Marcus in front of Home Depot. Thanks again to Scoutmob for telling us about this place.

Single slice pizzas start at $2.50. If you're on a budget, that's the way to go. Otherwise, all their other options, even for lunch, are a bit higher than what you would expect from this tiny plaza location. I opted to go for the Bacio Focaccia sandwich with a side salad for $8.45. The side salad was very good but my sandwich was rather bland. My bacio sandwich consisted of grilled chicken, arugula, mozarella, and a tomato. While the ingredients seemed fresh, it needed a spread or something to the sandwich come together. I tried sprinkling parmesan and red pepper flakes on it, but it was still bland. I ended up going with good ole ketchup. :( My friend ordered the chicken parmigiano panini and said the same about her sandwich: much too bland. If I come back, perhaps I'll try the pizza and the gelato. That might fare better than the sandwiches. At least the service was good.

I was surprisingly pleased with this place! I am very picky when it comes to pizzeria's, but we were close so we decided to go in. I got a Panini, which was amazing. My husband got pizza and loved it. The gelato, though..omg...so good!

It went back here some years later after moving further away. And wow. The food has taken a horrible turn. My soup literally tasted like dish water. I was afraid to eat much it because it had a strange bleach taste in it. While the rest of my food was not as bad that, none of it was anywhere near what it use to be. Sad day for me.

About as mediocre as pizza comes. 2.5 stars. Not lousy, just incredibly 'Meh'. Completely unremarkable sauce, crust and toppings. The toppings were scarce to boot. Add in a really clunky online delivery system and you have a place you should only try in the absence of any better options.

Scoutmob deal made this 3 stars instead of 2. Lunch: $8.25 - $9 for a sandwich. The actual location/ambiance was just alright, but I definitely feel like it's overpriced for what it is. Food is okay for the scoutmob price, but the grilled chicken sandwich with mozzarella really wasn't anything special. Service is similar to that of a deli...don't expect much. They're trying to be nice, but service isn't their forte.

I didn't realize this restaurant was in the shopping strip near Home Depot. Even for a very small space, the food was decent and the service was ok. FOOD: The complimentary bread was foccacia which was decent. We started with the Bacio salad, which is Baby Spinach, Haas Avocado, Shrimp, Asparagus, Roasted Almonds, and Rasberry Vinaigrette. It's a large enough portion to share. I had the Fresco, which is Fresh Mozzarella, Fresh Tomatoes, Olive Oil, Fresh Basil on foccacia bread sandwich with fries. This is a great lunch dish, but not for dinner. Next time I'll try the pizza.

The name fools you. It is a much more casual place for dinner and lunch than you may think before you enter. They make pizzas, although I've never had one. The pasta is good, the best is the vodka sauce. Don't miss out on it! They have awesome bread and give you a ton of fun sauces and spices to make up your own italian dipping sauce. The salads are good too. I made a mistake with dessert though. you see, I love tiramisu and couldn't pass up not getting it. It was horrible though. For an Italian place, this is a huge disappointment. Service is alright, but i think it struggles because its not a very busy place. Its hard to be good when you're bored at your own job and not making any money. Maybe this place will boom, but without better desserts, better marketing on what they actually are, and better drink specials, I don't know how long this place will last.

I have been coming to this place for a few years now and was actually really shocked to see the rating in here. I have always enjoyed coming here and thought the food to be great for the price point. To be fair, the only I have ever gotten has been the Penne alla Vodka. It was so good the first time that I went that I can't get anything else, it really is to die for. The portion is huge and I ALWAYS have leftovers to take home for lunch the following day. My husband enjoys the manicotti, which I always end up stealing, and it's pretty tasty as well. I will continue to frequent this restaurant and it's my go to for Vodka Pasta :)

I've been meaning to come here for a while. Whenever I drive by there seem to be a dining room full of people who are having a great time... and I want to be apart of that. Well, I went, but I didn't have a great time (or good food for that matter). Andrew and I came here after a long day of shopping. Pizza sounded great and we were nearby, so it seemed to work. As soon as we sat down I couldn't help but notice the dirty floor. I mean, really dirty. Upon closer inspection I found a pacifier under the table next to us. I picked it up and gave it to our server. Also, it's incredibly loud in the dining room. I know this is a shopping center, but they could have done a better job planning the acoustics for the restaurant. We ordered a margherita pizza. A few minutes passed and our server told us that a few other tables ordered pizza, so it would be a while before we'd eat. She suggested we get a salad. We ordered a Caesar to split. The salad had no taste and after waiting almost 20 minutes for our pizza it was disappointing. We took home a few slices that weren't eaten and the next day the pizza tasted even worse. Normally my favorite thing to do it eat a slice of cold pizza for breakfast the day after ordering it. This was truly gross to eat cold and didn't taste any better after warming in the oven.

Went here with a friend from work for lunch the other day and got the chicken salad sub/salad lunch combo. Needless to say, I was delightfully full but not stuffed to the point of being miserable. The place is definitely geared to the lunch crowd. They sell pizza by the slice until 4pm which is great if you want a quick in/out lunch. I've also tried their minestrone and it's amazing. Same friend brought me a bowl back to the office one day I wasn't feeling too spiffy and it really hit the spot. It came with a quarter slab of foccacia that was very tasty and perfectly crusted. They have fresh gelato there in several different flavors, but being diabetic, I'll have to come in and sample them when I'm more prepared with a spare injection on standby... Their prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity you get, and the owner and his wife are always there nearby to greet you when you enter. I had a chance to speak with them when we visited and it was nice to see their attention to customers in such a busy area. I'll definitely be going back to try their pizza and other items in the near future. I've found my new lunch spot!

This place is sooo close to my apartment so I want to love it, but I just can't. They miss the mark on too many things and I've given them a couple chances. The bottom line is there are a few good things here so I'll point those out for everyone. The good: the vodka sauce, the bread that comes out before your meal, the awkward service The bad: tiramisu, chicken parm, the cafe-like environment, the awkward service Then there's everything else. I do still really want to try the gelato so maybe if I feel like giving them one more chance, I'll go back for that.

The french fries were actually really good ... I got the eggplant parmigiana panini and had the option between fries or salad. Asked the waitress and she recommended the fries. Not sure about everything else. I'm sure it's hit or miss. Cross your fingers.

Il Bacio is consistent. My boyfriend and I order pizza and other dishes to-go quite frequently since we live near by, and we've never had any complaints. I definitely wouldn't say it's the best pizza or Italian food in Atlanta, but it's great if you're looking for something something good that's not far away (if you live in the area) or pricey.

Gelato di Melone I really enjoy this restaurant. Not only is the food delicious they make the best gelato in Atlanta. I love gelato - on my last trip to Italy I fell in love with Gelato di melone (cantaloupe). To me, their Gelato tastes like the corner shop gelato store in Florence. Everyone in the restaurant is super nice and will go out of their way to make sure that you have a great dining experience.

Picked up dinner from here recently. The first clue should have been the empty restaurant on a Wednesday night (and I mean empty - only 1 other person picking up food to go also). We got a caprese salad, orecchiette and broccoli rabe, and shrimp marecchiara. The caprese was ok but really there's no way you can mess that up. Obviously this is not a fancy gourmet restaurant, but when I'm paying $13 for a pasta dish (that has no meats or proteins in it), I kind of hope its at least fresh pasta. The pasta was definitely fresh and while I knew the orriechette was a plain dish, I figured it would still have some flavor from the garlic but it didn't. I had to actually add more garlic at home to give it flavor. The same with the shrimp. There was just not much flavor at all. The very best part of the meal was the focaccia they gave you. I will stick to Mirko or Figo next time I'm looking for inexpensive pasta.

This is a tough one to rate for me - where's a half star when you really want one?? I think it's probably a 3 on the whole, and I ordered semi-wrong, but my meal was closer to a 2 on my first and so far only visit. Convenient, good service, well-priced - all plusses! I really liked my arugula side salad and it was a generous portion. I was craving pasta with a good pomodoro or marinara sauce (and unfortunately my favorite version at Osteria 832 was unavailable since they don't do lunch weekdays) and, sadly, I found Il Bacio's pretty bland. I hate having to add bunches of salt and, though I love it, too much parmesan to my pasta to try to get it to taste like something. The serving was huge but I didn't have much use for the leftovers given my initial feelings on the dish. The two glasses of a nice red blend that my helpful server suggested made things a little better, though! I will go back to try the gelato (glad I didn't realize they had that till I was headed out the door!) and the pizza or paninis, as several on the menu looked tempting. I will think carefully about what pastas I try and perhaps go with something more adventurous if I go with noodles again.

I had high hopes for this place. Unfortunately It didn't live up to those expectations. Pizza slices were big but lacking flavor. Prices are high but I guess thats the price you pay for eating in buckhesd.

This is a family owned and run Italian restaurant. The husband and wife team, Fran and Frank, are Italian, and pour their hearts into making their pasta, pizza, and gelato authentic and delicious. The servers are attentive, friendly, and go out of the way to make you feel welcome, We ordered the manicotti and a simple margherita pizza. The manicotti had a delicious red sauce and the ricotta cheese was perfect. Portions were large and filling. The margherita pizza was a good size for an individual and could be enough for two persons. The crust was crispy and light. You can see them cooking everything from scratch in the kitchen and could taste the difference when it arrived at the table. Prices are very reasonable and when combined with the great food and service Il Bacio is at the top of our list for a good Italian dinner with friends. Feel free to reach out to me with questions about each place or destination. I only write 5 star reviews to help you find the best each city has to offer.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
