This was the first time I had been to this location. I love Highland Bakery - it's one of my favorite brunch spots in Atlanta. While the food was good here, the service was a bit a slow. If you are just out for brunch I'd prefer their other Virginia Highland location - but if you have a business meeting in the building it would be a good and tasty spot.

Walked here from my hotel - Staff was super friendly and welcoming, there were a few options of seating : inside the mall area, inside the cafe area(where we sat) and outside(it was too shady). ice coffee was good! i got it 2 days in a row there. SWEET POTATO PANCAKES - you must get um !! - Highland Breakfast - perfection, but its not too hard to mess up eggs, hashbrowns and toast, with some crispy bacon - Herb roasted turkey sandwich - made with real real turkey, not that deli meat

Worst Cinnamon roll ever. I would be ashamed to serve this thing. Its just a big lump of thick dough with some cream cheese icing on top.

I'm 'upgrading' my review from 2.5 stars to 2.89 (still not deserving of a 3). Last time I was here, staff and stoic manager were stiff, cold, and unpleasant. There's a new manager now, who is quick, efficient, and doesn't look like she's gonna growl at you. Big improvement from last time- staff was nicer which made the place seem warmer. However, my biscuit was a little boring. Their famed sweet potato biscuit tasted like a stale donut with too much cinnamon, not anything like the goodness I had at the Va Highland location. The guy taking my order was careless so that I had to return for times - for water, jam, etc. Annoying. And slow- don't expect a quick bite here. It was also lame that they closed early on President's Day- a big shopping day.

After all these years of going to the one in VA Highlands I finally tried this location. I might be biased but I enjoy the other one better. I felt there was a little something missing on the food side. The service though was excellent as usual. I always have a great experience at Highland Bakery.

This place was AMAZING!!! It was my friends and I first time there. If you're not from the area, its hard to find. We called, and Danas gave us easy to find directions. It turns out, he was also our server when we arrived. HANDS DOWN BEST SERVER WE'VE EVER HAD. He was very attentive, patient, helpful, and friendly. As for the food, the peanut butter french toast was delicious. It is big enough to share between two people. The sweet potato pancakes were also amazing. One of the best places we've ever been to!

Amazing brunch. I chose to go to this location of Highland Bakery because it's a lot closer to my apartment in Buckhead, and there was no wait for 2 people on a Saturday at 11 ( which is rare). It's a tiny place, that also has outdoor seating. There's a whole display of yummy looking bakery items. My friend and I split the peanut butter French toast, half order of the Sweet Potato pancake and the Highland Breakfast. Everything was absolutely delicious. The Peanut Butter French toast was "outta this world". Not something you have everyday, but boy was it delicious. Packed with flavor between the tasty syrup sauce, peanut butter and made with Challah bread (best bread for French toast). The serving was huge. Top 3 French toasts I've ever had, and I always get French toast at breakfast/brunch places. The Sweet Potato pancake was also very good. A nice crisp on the outside with a very good taste. The Highland Breakfast came with eggs, choice of meat and side. We got the bacon and potatoes. The potatoes were very good with a nice crisp. The flavor was good and seasoned well. The eggs even had a great flavor. The service was great. Took a little long to get our food, compared to how many people were at the restaurant, but no complaints because the food was delicious and the waiter was attentive. There's few parking spaces but I was lucky and got one up front. Definitely recommend.

Went for lunch. The sandwich was great but the bakery good was shockingly bad! No signs describing the items, obviously damaged goods and of the two items I tried; both were inedible. I'm am shocked it manages to maintain any customers.

It was an early morning at the office and I was starving by 10:30. I suggested Highland Bakery, as I hadn't tried this location yet, and I love the Highland Bakery downtown. The Buckhead Highland Bakery is just a skip and a hop away from my office across the street. The men (and one woman) working the register and the kitchen were super friendly (especially to my beautiful coworkers). I ordered an omelette with a sweet potato biscuit. The omelette is a plain omelette, which was pretty cheap, but you can add on toppings with an extra cost. I added turkey sausage, mushrooms and seasonal veggies. The total ended up being $11.73, which deterred me from ordering a much needed coffee. However, the meal was so filling that I ate a little more than half, as it also came with seasoned potatoes. The omelette was only ok; the cost really turned me off. I can make my own omelettes for a fraction of the cost... The potatoes were beautifully seasoned (ketchup, who?) and the sweet potato biscuit was crumbly and fluffy at the same time. Overall a hearty meal, although the cost does leave a little to be desired. $11.73 for a to-go breakfast is a little out of my budget...

I usually go here for brunch the food especially the sweet potato biscuits are awesome. The only thing is this location seems to run out on a regular boo. However the sweet potato pancakes were a great substitution. It has a coffee shop feel and it's located in a business building so don't expect too much atmosphere. Recently I was there on a Sunday and the was lacking not too say they weren't trying they were just spread a little too thin. Still a nice quick brunch experience.

I just love the original Highland Bakery off of Highland. As I live closer to Buckhead, I have been excited to have brunch at the Peachtree location. Today I ventured out specifically to come here. To my great disappointment, this location is not a full restaurant (no fryer on premises so now Fried Chicken Benedict). Their menu lacked some favorite items or even a cup of coffee in a coffee mug. This place is a café version of its parent. It probably serves the Buckhead weekday business community well for a quick stop, but it does not satisfy a weekend bruncher looking for his favorites. There is also only cafe style seating, most of it outside on the plaza. This place should be advertised as a Highland Bakery Café in its signage so that expectations can be set appropriately. I left and went to one of the full service restaurants at Lenox Square.

I can't believe it, but HB is getting worse. WORSE! I don't know where they find these employees but they're clueless and super lazy. I have watched these kids stare (with arms crossed) or chat on their phones while the place is jammed and all I want is a GD cup of coffee super quickly. The management really needs to step it up and whip this joint into shape. I don't know how it continues to exist other than lack of options around the building.

Overall, really satisfying and great no-wait brunch on Easter Sunday. Walked here from the Westin (located same side of street.. about 5 mins away) and learned this location has been open for about 3 years. I first noted the one around Inman Park off Highland when checking out Parish just down the block from it. Very wonderful portions of solid breakfast food...menu can be innovative. Liked tapping into MSG's cilantro corn pancakes with black beans, salsa, and fresh garnish. Cappuccino was made with tight foam... really good, strong cuppa. Sad thing about this bakery is that it's eclipsed by a much savvier real estate and high visibility corner across the street, where Maggiano's is. Hard to see this off Peachtree unless one is looking for it. Glad we saw it! PS There is atrium seating 'outdoor indoor' inside of a large business building. Nothing but street parking. Glad we walked!
(4)Svetlana O.
I came in for a quick jolt of caffeine with their house coffee before finishing the walk down to Lenox Square. Their The rest of the menu looks really tasty as I watched some of the plates even be brought out. Might consider this place next time I am passing by.

Loved the sweet potato pancakes and the ricotta pancakes. The peanut butter French toast was incredible. Did not like the salmon in my omelette. It was too salty
(5)Jeremy B.
I've been to this place a few times on Sunday mornings and they've yet to disappoint. I'm glad a friend introduced us to this place, since the brunch wait in Atlanta is usually an hour or more. We've never waited more than 20 minutes to dine at this location! The staff has always been pleasant with no problems with any of the food. I'm glad they serve turkey sausage as a breakfast alternative and come with a big appetite if you order oatmeal for your meal. It's humongous!

My friends and I wanted to go get breakfast so we decided to go to highland bakery because they all had a great experience. Tip 1: There's a parking garage but no worries, you will get validated! There are seats inside but at the side of it you'll also notice tables with salt, pepper, and sugars and if you let them know that you'll be dining "in" and sitting outside they'll bring out menus for you. Tip 2: if you're planning on getting separate checks than just tell your server ahead of time. Their sweet potato biscuit buttery soft on the inside and perfectly crisp on top with cinnamon. It's a good portion size so sharing that with friends is totally doable if you're planning on getting a meal yourself. I had an earlier breakfast at 6:00am so I decided on the white bean chicken chili. It comes with a toasted bread on the size and is a perfect portion for a mini meal if you aren't feeling a full on meal. It's less than $5 for a cup!

Despite some of the negative reviews, I decided to come here for brunch today. Some points: 1) My husband & I sat for a good 10 mins before anyone came by our table. Once she did come over, she didn't introduce herself, & failed to bring part of our order (French toast), until we reminded her of it. The rest of our experience was alright, nothing special but not completely bad either. 2) The food was a hit/miss situation. We were told that they didn't have sweet tea, grits, potatoes, & Challah bread. We ordered a plain biscuit, the crab cakes Benedict, the rustic Italian with a side of turkey sausage & grilled chicken, & French toast. The biscuit, the Benedict & turkey sausage were hits. The rustic Italian was good but the bread at the bottom got so soaked by the juice & weight of the rest of the food, it was soggy and tasteless, & the chicken was not fresh. The French toast was made with regular wheat toast & I've had a lot better versions elsewhere, although the sweet cream & syrup were great! Decent place but I can see the reason behind all the other reviews. If I want to have the food again, I'll definitely be going to one of the other locations.

Amazing breakfast had an omelet with shrimp and peppers. My wife had the breakfast burritos with corn salsa and black beans. The service was amazing has atleast 3 different people check in on us. And they thanked us for coming in on our way out.

Tried this place for brunch a few weeks ago and it gave my favorite spot a run for its money! The portions were OUT OF CONTROL and the food was pretty darn fabulous. I had a create-your-own omelette with rosemary toast and potatoes on the side. My bf got some peanut butter caramel french toast dish and wasn't even able to finish it (this was a first!) The service was pretty slow, but they were also quite busy. They were friendly though. We had to sit in a strange little area sort of outside the restaurant but still inside of the main building. Felt a little like we were on a picnic or something, but the food made it all worth it. Definitely give it a try!

This is one of my favorite breakfast/brunch places, there's just no hassle. There's visitor parking in the deck - and Highland validates, the service is always on point and I've never had to wait more than 20 minutes to be seated (even on the weekend), it's affordable, and the food is GOOD. My go-to entree is the 'Crab Cake Benedict' - I can never resist ordering it, the egg is perfect, cutting into it you already know you're in for something good. The crab cake compliments it well, a very flavorful and well cooked pairing. With this entree, you're offered a choice of grits or potatoes, I always get the potatoes; another great dish on its own, and Highland serves a generous portion. The BF usually goes for the 'Cowboy Benedict' with cheese quesadillas beneath the egg and seasoned bits of corn strewn on top, and this dish comes with a very generous portion of black beans. If you're ordering it for the quesadillas though, prepare for disappointment: the eggs benedict are the star of this entree - the quesadillas are quite small and there's only a thin layer of cheese as the "stuffing". Again though, the eggs benedict are deeeelicious. There's also a huge selection of desserts for any post brunch sweets craving, I've only ever had the cupcakes, and they're divine, the perfect icing to cake ratio - perfect for cupcake sandwiching!

The Thai Shrimp wrap was really quite disgusting. I was expecting it to be cold and fresh, but instead it was hot noodles in a tortilla with a gross, warm corn starchy peanut sauce. Nothing Thai about it. And for $14, it is a complete ripoff. Not to mention, they charged me $2 more for shrimp than it said on the menu. When I pointed out the discrepancy, the cashier was like "yeah, I'll tell them." Right.

Looks like they're about to close this location. Dessert scarce in the display case. A customer called in and ordered 4 brisket sandwichs and after they went to making them did they notice there wasnt enough brisket to make them all. First and last time visiting this place.

This place is good for on the move eating, but had brunch here with my boyfriend and it was not bad but not fantastic. The Server gave us a free cupcake and hot chocolate. Great customer service and clean establishment.

the sweet potato biscuits are a MUST TRY! gives the Flying Biscuit a run for their money :) the standard coffee here is quite good - i am planning on buying a bag the next time i go. the ricotta pancakes (love that you can get a 1/2 order) and french toast w/berries (1/2 order!!) are divine! i can't wait to try the next thing on the menu! turkey sausage was yum. staff is friendly. can't always buy bread at this location and the staff mentioned that it's a new thing so call ahead or be prepared to just eat there sometimes. i love their fresh milled bread and have some in my freezer right now! honey wheat is great.

I've read good reviews about Highland Bakery and I wanted to try it out, so my family went to the location in Buckhead for breakfast this past Sunday. We came at about 8:45am to beat the morning rush. The food was average here, but the service was dreadful. First, I would not recommend this location if you are coming here with a big group. This location, housed in the Atlanta Financial Center, is more akin to a coffee shop and there's not really any seating for guests wanting to dine in. They had to create a table for our party outside in the entrance area of the Financial Center. Second, their computers were down that day, which caused a lot of problems. After being sat down outside, we waited for about 10 minutes for someone to come take our drink orders. No one came, and I went back inside to inform the employee at the register that our group was ready to order. After that, we waited another 20 minutes. We were very annoyed when a couple next to us (the only other party seated outside) arrived 15 minutes after our group, ordered, and received their food before we even received our drinks. I completely understand that with the computers being down that there will be some confusion. However, it should not have arisen to the level of bad service that we received, especially with a dedicated server put in charge of our section of the restaurant. I haven't given up on Highland Bakery yet. My sister tells me that the original location in Old Fourth Ward is worth going to. I will not, however, likely revisit the Buckhead location anytime soon.

I came here twice for breakfast first on a Monday holiday morning, and a second the day after because the first time was so good. The employees were super welcome and friendly and explained the menu and gave their recommendations. We had a bagel with cream cheese and their sweet potato biscuits, which were worth coming back for. I also appreciated that their large coffees were definitely large, and tasty.

Ok, so I'll start off with a disclaimer saying I'm a recent transplant from San Francisco, where brunch is a sport of sorts that gets taken very seriously, and thus have ridiculously high standards. But still, this place was a disappointment. Let's start with the coffee: mediocre. Mediocre or bad coffee at a breakfast place is something that really bugs me because it's a conscious choice. If the food is not so good, maybe it's because the kitchen was having an off day or maybe the chef simply didn't have the skill and creativity to design a better dish. The bottom line is that there are excuses. With coffee (a product, btw, that has 80-90% margins) it's a choice - the restaurant makes a conscious choice to buy good coffee or buy mediocre coffee, and Highland has chosen the latter. For food I had the Burrito de Huevos, to which I added bacon. I'm re-reading the menu and apparently there were supposed to be "sweet yellow corn, roasted red peppers, and onions" inside, but all I had were some scrambled eggs with stingy bits of bacon wrapped in a sad fajita-size tortilla (Ok, so there were two of these little burrito-ettes) with some cojita cheese on top and a healthy serving of spicy-but-otherwise-bland black beans on the side.

I love highland bakery! Always have and always will. I usually frequent the location in Virginia Highlands, but I must say this Buckhead location is a lot better to me. I have had a few hit or miss experiences at the other location, but the last visit made me not want to come back ever. It is only because the paranoia i have about leaving my vehicle on the streets for parking, and witnessing a patron's car windows broken. This location just gives a great vibe, menu is pretty much the same, however I did notice that they were not serving the country fried chicken benedict :[ It's okay, it wasn't healthy for me anyways. I always end up getting the classic eggs benedict and with roasted potatoes, this time with a side of smoked salmon as well. They gave a nice amount of the cheese hollandaise sauce here, and there was nothing wrong with our brunch. My boyfriend always gets the highland breakfast, he likes this location better as well in terms of ambiance, and to him the food just tasted better here. Parking is free, we parked in the spots that were reserved for highland bakery guests. If you park in the garage, you can get it validated. In my opinion, Highland Bakery is the best place for eggs benedict just because I love their cheese hollandaise sauce, I'm sure everything else is great to, but I can never resist getting the benedicts. My go to place for brunch will now be at this location :) Customer service is very friendly as well.

One of my favorite breakfast places in Atlanta. The breakfast sandwiches are delicious and big portion sizes, and the rustic Italian is fantastic too
(5)Rob B.
Unbelievably rude staff. Have never been treated worse by a restaurant employee than I was at this place and had to leave. Disappointing because the food is great. Will not be returning until staff changes are made.
(1)Cassandra M.
I had the Italian Chicken Sandwich. My friends both ordered breakfast. One ordered the Peanut Butter French Toast. That portion size was a case of Type 2 diabetes waiting to happen. She didn't eat .25 of it. It was insane. Good, but crazy big. My sandwich was pretty good. It is rare that I order a sandwich EXACTLY as it is served off the menu, pesto spread and all. It was hard to eat since the chicken was in pieces instead of a filet. But oh well. Food was good, service was friendly, no complaints. I'll be back.
(4)Karly G.
I love the generous portion of their food. I love their pimento cheese and p&b french toast. I love the fact that they have a person standing on top of a stool/box to level with the window where the food is placed and make sure every order is correct. Now that's what I call excellent service. I don't love condensation on those cupcakes that must have been sitting there a day old. I can feel the dryness from inside the cake just by looking at how much moisture has been sucked out of it. Otherwise, a great place to people watch. This place is always busy, which is good business for them.
(3)Ashley J.
Well, 3.5. I'm sure the other location is better. This one is kind of hidden, it's in an office building, and seems like it caters more to that than to be welcoming and warm to visitors. It's COLD in there (wear a sweater), it's un inviting, and full of suits. BUT the employees are SO nice, and the food was yummy. I ordered a gingerbread latte (plus for having Soy !) it was better than starbucks. They have all kinds of syrups, weird ones too like blackberry and apple cinnamon (yum). The sweet potato pancakes- AMAZING. Omg. the syrup is a browned butter sauce, oh my gosh. I had to ask for more. They are so good. please get them. The lemon blueberry pancakes, are OK. nothing special. My mom got them b/c she wanted something lighter, but we both left wishing that one had got the sweet potato and the other the PB french toast. that sounded really good. The sides were eh, the sausage was tough and cold. The cupcakes.....The chocolate pumpkin chai was good, their chocolate cake is very moist and flavorful. Red velvet- average. Carrot Cake- also average. Raspberry crumb bar- very good. Dense, rich , you'll need milk, or a cup of hot chocolate. You should definitely try highland bakery, just maybe go to another location for a cozier experience .
(4)Jenolee M.
I really didn't like the food. Ordered French toast and it was cold. Not only was it cold - tasted like the middle wasn't cooked. French toast tasted like it was cooked several days ago - definitely wasn't cooked the day I order it. Very different experience from the original location. If you want Highland Bakery food, go to the original. You will be extremely disappointed with the Buckhead location. Extremely disappointing ... I will never go back to the Buckhead location ... And it will be a while before I crave Highland Bakery French toast.

Overall, not worrh a visit. Few parking spots here, so have to park in a pay lot for 4 dollars per hour. You can seat yourself, but service is quite slow. We were there for 15 minutes before anyone came by to take our order. Coffee was mediocre. Sweet potato pancake was tasty and fluffy, with perfect syrup. Bagel was ok. Cheese melt was no good. Oatmeal was hot and pecans and walnuts on it were good. The bad service made it tough to enjoy. For instance, our coffee and OJ came 20 min after we ordered, and at the same time as our food. The bottomless coffee came slowly that no refill was possible. If you can get another waiter (we had a bald man), it would be better, but still not worthwhile.
(2)Robert B.
I work in the building. I've been here many times because there are few other options. The lack of customer attention by the staff is mind blowing. I have more than one time stood at the counter waiting for service only to have an employee take the order of someone that came in after me. I've come in, sat at a table (they ask that you seat yourself) and been ignored. This is not just once. I don't understand how the staff cares so little. I would close this place down if it were in my control and find a better option if I were Hines (the AFG property management company). Can I give this place zero stars?

So my best boy returned from his work trip this morning early enough for me to collect him at MARTA (no, I did not make it to the airport but I did offer) and us be able to have breakfast before getting to work. Eggs, my sweetie, and I got paid today? It's a good Tuesday already. I got up early and wanted to think of some place we hadn't been. I've enjoyed the Highlands location of Highland Bakery muchly, and since I was picking him up at Lindbergh and we work in Buckhead, the newer Buckhead outpost seemed like a good pick. Indeed, it was. He got scrambled eggs with bacon and a chocolate croissant. I went for the BLT - mixed greens, herb aioli, fried egg, bacon and tomato. OMG! It was delicious but ridiculously messy. And huge. A bit unwieldy, but a good order. He had to get me extra napkins, but then again it wasn't our first date, so no big embarassment. Just be warned about the potential mess factor if you're at a business breakfast or with other company you might be embarassed to see you with yolk running down your face. The breakfast potatoes were tasty and well-seasoned, as our nice server had indicated (I wish she told us her name because she was attentive but unintrusive and definitely helped make this a good experience - she asked all the right questions about cream v milk, croissant or toast, etc). With a parking spot right in front and a two minute drive to the office afterwards, it was a lovely start to our day. I recommend!
(4)Nancy R.
We came here early, which is key to avoiding the waiting lines. It was early enough that the inside tables were all open. FOOD: For brunch I had the Smoked Salmon Plate which is 3 slices of smoked salmon with your choice of bagel, slices of tomatoes, red onions, caper berries, cream cheese and salad. Not the best smoked salmon I had, but it was ok, and it didn't fill me up. So I got a large blueberry muffin too. All this with an awesome iced coffee was a good start for the day. They split your check too...an added bonus to your validated parking ticket.

I've visited this place multiple times and sadly, it's pretty unpredictable. I loved my omelette the first time I came (chock-full of ingredients and perfectly cooked eggs), but when I ordered it again a couple months later, it was rather sparse and not worth the money. I visited today for Mother's Day as a table of one, probably not the best idea. I ordered half of a grilled cheese and half a white chicken chili. The grilled cheese was just a little warm and while it appeared golden brown and crispy, it was rather soft and you could tell that it wasn't fully melted because you could still see the two pieces of cheese. I feel as if I'd came when it wasn't so busy, it would've tasted better. I still liked the sandwich though, the vermont white cheddar was great. I didn't really care for the chili, it was mostly just beans and the texture itself was like mushy beans. On the other hand, I loved the bread that accompanied it! It's crispy, cheesy, and has just the right amount of heat. Next time I come, I'm getting a whole loaf of it. While the service wasn't horrible for me, I did have to wait 5-10 minutes for simple things like getting a refill, takeout box, menu, and getting the bill. The servers were pretty frazzled, but did their best to be attentive. I sat at the entrance of the restaurant and could tell that a lot of people were unhappy due to waiting 20+ minutes for outdoor seating, and instead were waiting indoors.

Truth be told, we were supposed to go elsewhere for Sunday brunch, but my friend wanted to go here because it was less expensive. We gave in and let her have her way (when she proceeded to only order a biscuit and a cup of coffee). Not the most convenient location to get to or to find parking for, but if you're from the area I'm sure you'll think otherwise. There's a lot in the back of the building, just make sure to remember to get your ticket validated. We were seated quickly (surprising for a Sunday morning) and perused the menu, trying to figure out what to order. After reading several Yelp reviews (thanks fellow Yelpers), I had to go with a half order of the sweet potato pancakes, even though I rarely order pancakes. My friend ordered the smoked salmon plate, and the other ordered a coffee and biscuit (as I mentioned). The sweet potato pancake- just one in the half order- was worth the calories. It's more like a dessert than breakfast but it was sooooo good! I even used up the syrup, which I usually NEVER touch. It had to be homemade. The nuts on top added a nice texture contrast. The smoked salmon plate was okay. My friend didn't care for it, as the salmon looked a little fatty and had a greyish/brown tint on the edges, which she had to cut off. It came with a toasted bagel, which looked to be soaked in butter, and was served over a heaping bed of mixed lettuce and a few abnormally large capers. I may have liked it more than my friend, but not sure I'd order it. We couldn't really figure out why there was so much lettuce on the plate, but maybe ask for some dressing to eat it as a salad?? My friend liked her biscuit, but made sure to let us know how bad the coffee was. I can't confirm, but she is a coffee snob so who knows how bad it really was. It was a good place to try, but I'm not sure if I'd rush back for brunch. So many other local places!

Went here today for brunch. We called ahead to figure out where they were actually located cause with all the office buildings, it can get a bit confusing. The person who answered the phone gave excellent directions. They have limited parking right at the restaurant- perhaps 3 regular spots and 2 handicapped spots. There is a lot in the back of the building that they provide validation for- 1 hour during the week, 2 hours on the weekend. We wanted to sit outside since it was a great day. The estimated wait- 15 min. Ok. Well, were seating within a couple minutes. Surprised and happy. The host says he'll get us some menus. Maybe 5 min later...still no menus. Our waitress ended up getting them for us. We start off with water and a mocha for the boyfriend. The waters come out quickly. The mocha is another story. We wait..and wait. My boyfriend comments a couple of times to me, where is his mocha. I tell the waitress that we are still waiting on his mocha. She goes to check on it. She comes back out...still no mocha. Though I don't think it was the waitress fault, more the cafe's fault as I overheard her talking with another waiter about what was going on. I am thinking to myself, if they are to handle this right, they will comp his drink. When she brings it out, that is exactly what she does. Great job. I ordered the half order of french toast (which is plenty) with 2 eggs. The eggs were bland. The french toast was cooked with challah bread and was also not flavorful. The french toast came with some cream which didn't go very well with the bread but was nice to have with strawberries and blueberries. The syrup was horrible! Given these reasons, I didn't even finish the meal. Sad. Another issue that I had with our meal was that we had to eat it with plastic forks and knives. Really? Aren't you supposed to be more of an upscale place? When we ask the waitress for the check, she says she will bring us something sweet for us to make up for our wait. That's nice, I expect something small. But she comes back with a red velvet cupcake and a chocolate cupcake. Exactly what we would have chosen if we could. Very satisfied. I would have given this place 1 star, but the great waitress bumped them up.

Ate here over 10 times. Recently , the food quality has diminished. Waiter was good , but the other staff working were terrible. With parking already limited it was nice to watch an employee park in one of the three designated parking spots for the restaurant . Professionalism out the window . Management really needs to get that place back to it's potential.

I was told about Highland Bakery while in training in Dallas, it's that legendary. I've only been in Atlanta for six months, and I've already been to Highland more times than I'd like to admit. I'm an addict. If they had a "frequent visitor" card (which they should!) I would definitely have one. Everything I've ordered has been great, but the sweet potato pancakes? Oh. My. God. Best thing I've eaten in a long time. Orgasm on a plate, I'm telling you. In my opinion the Buckhead location is the best simply because you still get the same great food, and yet it's more convenient both in terms of Marta (across the street) and parking (validated). This would get four stars if their staff were a bit more enthusiastic.

I'll keep my review short and to the point since most others have written fairly detailed reviews of this place. Came here a few times on Sunday for brunch/lunch and while I can't complain much about the food, the service is downright embarrassing and slow as molasses. Just went again today with some friends and my family and we waited a total of an hour and half for our food. This wouldn't be so bad if it were happening to everyone, but we saw guests arrive an hour after us, quickly served and cared for, while we kept getting a waiter coming up to us, letting us know that our order was coming soon. Not sure if it was because our group was of minority ethnicities, but 3 of the dishes were not made well which just makes the entire experience worse since the principle, "the best come to those who wait" certainly did not apply here. For reference, we ordered 2 rustic plates, 1 bbq chicken sandwich, 1 pancake dish. The only person who didn't complain about the food was myself (one of the rustic plates), but I felt terrible for wife and friends as they seemed thoroughly disgusted. All of us felt management has some major issues that they need to work on, and it really takes a lot for me to get worked up regarding a meal to write a negative 2 star yelp review. Don't believe me, check out my other reviews. In short, we were thoroughly disappointed at the entire experience today and do not see ourselves returning anytime soon, which is sad because we received such high recommendations to check this place out and we live only a hop away. 1.3 stars rounded up, and a, "I hope you improve and treat others better than you did us".

Compared to the 4th Ward location, this Highland Bakery pales in comparison. However, by itself, it looks like a more modern Starbucks that serves brunch. So compared to Starbucks, this place is awesome - but I came for a Highland Bakery experience. The food is about the same at both locations, so I would recommend going to the original 4th Ward location for a better experience, a better bakery selection, and better service. THE FOOD: Always huge portions that make it worth your money. - Peanut Butter French Toast w/ caramelized bananas: very flavorful, but too sweet for my Asian palate. - The Rustic Plate: great salty brunch option w/ great grilled veggies, toast, potatoes, etc. - Corn w/ cilantro pancakes: a very close cousin & lighter version of the Cowyboy Benedict which I loved.

We've been here quite a few times. It's not quite as good as the original location, but it's not half bad. They have a more limited menu than the original location, but still a lot of the staples. Definitely one of the best brunch places in Buckhead. On the weekends you need to get there early if you don't want to wait. We seem to have the most luck around 9/9:30am. Later than that there is usually a bit of a wait. When its warm enough to sit outside, this usually helps move the line along pretty fast as well. I love the cilantro corn pancakes, the breakfast BLT and the burritos de huevos. Jeremy H often gets the crab-cake Benedict and that is really good too. Overall this is a solid spot for brunch. I haven't been there other than the weekend, and I haven't tried their lunch items or baked goods (which always look amazing!) at this location. I would definitely hands down recommend them for breakfast/brunch though. Enjoy!

Went here today for brunch and honestly when I first walked in I thought of walking out. Nothing on the menu pulled to me and the bakery display case was less than inspiring as well. Thank goodness we stayed. I had the half order of french toast, which is two huge slices of challah bread covered in fruit and cream. I asked for that to be placed on the side, mainly because I was worried about it being to sweet. Glad I did, I didn't care for the cream at all. I had a side of bacon and grits. OMG these have got to be the best grits in GA. I asked the I'm assuming manager on duty where they got them from, she stated they were milled at the main restaurant and cooked in cream. Just pure de heaven. The GF ordered the BLT and tore it up. It was open faced which made it hard to eat but she managed to do it. Coffee was good, service was okay. And that's really why this is a 4 instead of a 5. There were a lot of side conversations going on with the staff..loud enough for us to listen in. And sorta hoodish. The coffee in a to go cup instead of a mug made it sorta cheapy feeling as well. All in all, I'll be back. Might try a different location. Oh I didn't try anything from the bakery..looked rather plain and almost grocery storish.

This place is not good. I don't get why so many good reviews. Staff is friendly but never gave me napkins, I had to be asking for everything. Food has no taste, just plain like the same that can be made home. Not going back.

Amazing food; below average service. I took my two sons and a friend of my oldest boys for a nice Saturday breakfast before going to see Iron Man 3. There was a nice crowd, but they actually said they could seat us immediately. The hostess showed us to our table and we noticed that there was water all over the table and one of the 3 chairs. There was another identical table next to us with 4 chairs and no water. Rather than just moving us to that table, the hostess took one of the chairs, and went to get a damp towel to wipe up the water (I would think a dry one would have been better, but hey...). She wipes the water off the chair and begins to turn. I said, "Excuse me, but the table is covered in water as well." She quickly wiped that with the wet towel too. I touched the metal chair and it was still wet (that tends to happen when you use a damp towel to get water off of metal). I asked if she could go and get dry ones, so she ran off to grab one. While we're all still standing around, they finally sat a couple at the other table that I still don't know why we weren't moved to. The hostess apologized and said that a kid spilled their cup of water, but she didn't realize it was that much. By the time we were seated, I was prepared not to enjoy myself. Once I started seeing the amazing looking dishes going to tables around me, however, I knew we'd be in for a treat. The two oldest boys and I all ordered the Highland Breakfast and my youngest ordered a sausage, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich. I also added an order of French toast to share. The food came out quickly and piping hot. It was absolutely amazing. My son's breakfast sandwich was HUGE! He said, "Wow dad. I've never seen eggs this big!" The French toast was really good; I'm going to try the peanut butter French toast next time. Our server checked on us 2 minutes after we got our food and didn't come by again until we were finishing our meal and she was bringing our check. They were kind of busy, but not nearly too busy to check on us once in the middle of our meal. The location is convenient and the food is good, so I'm sure I'll be back. I'd like to see some better service next time though...

Okay, look beyond the location in a Buckhead tower garden and focus instead on the smell of fresh, rich coffee and direct your eyes to the cases of beautiful and delicious baked goods. You'll be greeted with a smile when you enter .... Dining in...please take a seat, we will bring you a menu and...coffee? To-go ....step up to the counter, glance at the backed goods, make a selection, and the kind folks will take of you. Brunch: We recently munched our way through their breakfast sandwiches (your choice of breads and meats (LOTS of options for both) and cheese. A create your own omelette, the best grits EVER and the sweet potato pancake with pecans on brown sugar syrup is DIVINE.

Come by here for a quick to-go breakfasty bit on a Saturday while waiting for some colleagues to meet me in Buckhead. The docking of 1 star is simply for the parking situation. There are 4 or 5 slots right in front that you need a Lotto winner's luck to get. The sign on the front door strenuously warns customers to not park in the Suntrust spots, as they'd risk a fine or tow, so beware. On the plus-side, they do validate parking, but I was feeling exceptionally lazy so I waited for a spot. The white-chocolate mocha was marvelous. Truly yummy, with great foamy goodness on top. The grilled cheese was quite decadent...I'm not sure exactly how much butter was sacrificed to it, but too much is never enough. Good chips to pair with, but my arteries were already cursing me, so I gave them away after sampling just enough to confirm I'd love more. Really wish I'd had the opportunity to have a sit-down, as the staff are just that friendly. From the welcome as I walked up to the counter to the check-ins as I waited for my order. Love this southern hospitality thing...can it be exported?
(4)Alyssa K.
Motherf'ing peanut butter French toast. I read about it. I saw someone receive it at their table. I knew I had to get it. This thing isn't French toast. It's like half a cake. It's probably best to order this if you haven't eaten anything in the last 18-24 hours. Even then you won't finish it. If you love peanut butter and French toast, you'll love this. I came here with three others. They all ordered different things (salad, ricotta pancake, sandwich) and they all really enjoyed their meals. Service was friendly and attentive, and the wait was only 10 minutes on a Saturday morning. I'd definitely return if I'm in Atlanta again!
(4)Hazel J.
Sweet potato pancakes: good Chocolate crossiants: no good Red Velvet cupcake: ok Carrot cake cupcake: ok i probably should have gone to the original one...
(3)Sara C.
I'm not a Buckheader, and while the food is fairly decent here, this location is just a watered-down yuppy version of the original location, which I used to visit before it became a hit. It is great if you are in Buckhead and want breakfast, given they serve it all day. Just the staff seems a little inexperienced at times and the small space feels more like you are in a train car than a restaurant. There is outdoor seating in warmer weather. Some of my favorite items include: -Hummus sandwich -Thai Peanut salad (or wrap) -Turkey Sandwich -Turkey sausage (you can get breakfast sandwiches or purchase items a la carte -Side salads, which are huge
(3)Laura C.
This place has great brunch items! The service is a little slow but it turns out really tasty. The breakfast food seemed to be better than the lunch options. Highly recommend the sweet potato pancakes!
(4)Rick F.
I've been waiting 4 months for Highland to open in the Atlanta Financial Center! It finally arrived today. A soft opening unannounced so as to work out kinks. Inside looks great, service personnel were plentiful, friendly and very helpful. The menu is amazing, great selection of breakfast, lunch and of course the famous desserts and pastries. I ordered the 1/2 soup and 1/2 sandwich, Chicken Chili, Ham & Cheese! was excellent. I'm looking forward to eating here frequently!
(4)Jessica S.
You like breakfast. I like breakfast. They make breakfast. Awesome. You want a half order of the Sweet Potato Pancakes with a side of Turkey Sausage. The perfect balance of sweet and savory without leaving you feeling like a beached whale. Sitting at a table I had amazing service and smiles from Darrius who made my early morning brighter despite the neverending rain. Lost one star do to lack of outlets for my now dwindling laptop battery, however I will return tomorrow to try one of their amazing sounding eggstraspecial breakfast entrees before the flight home. And if all is well i'll bump them up to 5 despite the lack of power supply. Next door to the MARTA Buckhead Station and the Westin Buckhead so who cares that its in an office building? Not this girl :-)
(4)Megan E.
Came here for lunch with my husband during the workweek. They're very busy during lunchtime with all the office buildings and mall close by. We sat outside and our waiter was great-not his fault we had to wait a bit for our sandwiches. When they did arrive all was forgiven-I ordered the hummus sandwich and loved it. The sharp cheddar cheese and hummus with balsamic dressing really make it-the bread is delicious too. My husband ordered the Italian chicken and ate every last bit so I'd say he enjoyed it. They come with potato chips (homemade I believe?) and even though they're really good I think I might try to sub a side salad or fresh fruit for a healthier option next time. All in all, it was a good meal and I'd definitely come back if I'm not in any particular hurry to get back to work for a meeting.
(4)Yasmin R.
Insane portions. For $24, cappuccino, OJ, French toast, two breakfast sandwiches.....fed both of us and plenty of leftovers. Love it!
(5)Heather B.
Finally got a chance to have breakfast there and it was delicious. The peanut butter french toast is pretty intimidating. I opted for a standard egg, potato breakfast. It was enough to feed 3 people. Highland bakery does it big! Just keep in mind that when you go there it might be in your best interest to share an entree and then save room for one of their amazing cinnamon rolls.

Went here with my wife before a Sunday excursion at the Lenox Mall. Had to stand and wait about 10 minutes before we were seated. We could get coffee while we were waiting, though. The design of the space isn't great: it got a bit awkward trying to stay out of the way of the servers and other customers. After we were seated, the service was also a bit lacking: our server forgot to bring knives for buttering our croissants, napkins, and forks for eating my sweet potato pancakes. As for the food: the coffee was delightful. The croissants are good, even better warmed up. The sweet potato pancakes were nice, but a bit too much of the same note over and over (rich, sweet and buttery); it would've been nice to have something lighter on the side, too. The smoked salmon on the bagel was delicious: the salmon was actually smoked, not just coated with Liquid Smoke. Price was reasonable, about $25 (including tax) for all of the above. TL;DR: the food is great at a reasonable price, but service at this particular location is a bit lackluster.

Went here again and was very disappointed in the service. It was busy so we waited 20 minutes to be seated but that wasn't the problem. We were seated and then not one employee looked at us or greeted us for 15 minutes!!!! They were lucky I even gave them 5 minutes! So we just left. I drove all the way from suwanee to this and was looking forward to the excellent experience we had last time but I am NEVER coming back to this place EVER again!!! I wish you could give no stars.
(1)Bruce W.
The worst service I have ever experienced ! My wife and I waited over 90 minutes and then we walked out ! The kitchen is too small for the seating capacity ! We watched two other couples walk out before we did. The waiter kept telling us we were next, it was forthcoming and after 1 and 1/2 hours for lunch we finally went inside to speak to the manager and he just shrugged his shoulders ! Pathetic !!!! BE FORE WARNED !

OK, If you look at most of my reviews, you see that I am not a hard ass. We went to HB this morning hoping the Buckhead location was just as good as the N. Highland location. Much to my chagrin we were let down. First off our drinks were served in plastic - paper cups?? Really are we eight year olds? Then my GF noticed that someones order was sitting in the "window" for at least five minutes. I give you one guess as to who's eggs they were...bing we have a winner! I notified the server that my eggs were cold. I received a not so nice look, and no apology. One thing i can say is there are way too many places to grab breakfast/brunch in this town and you will not catch me back here!
(2)Alex C.
Came here with a bunch of friends on a Sunday. They were able to accommodate the 10 of us well, however it was in the lobby of the building they're connected to. In this case, we had ordered the crab cake benedict. Overall it was alright. But my biggest complaint is that it had so much filler in it. It was more like a quinoa cake with crab, than a crab cake with binder. Hopefully the original old 4th ward one is better?
(3)David S.
After the first time trying this place out, I was excited to go back again. My first visit I got the breakfast burrito (Burrito de Huevos) and it was very good. I also got a white mocha coffee which in my opinion was better than Starbucks. I was very intrigued by some of the menu items so I wanted to come back. If you're thinking about the peanut butter french toast make sure you haven't eaten in a week! Ok, not necessarily a week but it's a big portion. This plate is actually a good conversation starter with nearby tables when they're like "wow" when the server brings it to your table. I'm looking forward to going back and trying the cilantro corn pancakes. Not sure how it will taste but the name alone makes me want to try it. The only reason I don't give it five stars is because I think it's a little pricey however the staff is friendly and I look forward to going back.

Can I give it a ZERO? If you have been to the mothership location on Highland this location will be a complete let down!! First when we walked in I thought I had just entered "monkey joes", their were unruly kids running, jumping, and terrorizing the Atlanta Financial Ctr. They were all over the furniture, up and down the stairs, and food was everywhere. The parents of these kids should be so ashamed and I blame the restaurant management for not stepping to the plate and saying something, it was ridiculous!!! Well we were hungry and decided to stay even in the midst of chaos, and I had my mind and stomach set on the fried chicken eggs benedict. We were told the wait was 20 mins BUT it took them 30 minutes to bus down at least 3 tables..OMG!!! I have never seen such a discombobulated system. So we finally get seated, the unruly KIDS are gone...and I look at the menu...NO FRIED CHICKEN EGGS BENEDICT at this location!!! A local favorite and it's not served here, I couldn't believe it. Decided to go with the french toast as a 2nd choice. If you have ever had the french toast before then you know how thick the slices are. Can anyone tell me how they expected us to cut the french toast with plastic-ware? How do you run out of clean silverware? Big Disappointment we will have to go back to the Inman mothership this weekend to satisfy the craving. Hopefully someone of some importance will be there so I can express my dissatisfaction in person.

I tried the cilantro corn pancakes, sweet potato pancakes, peanut butter french toast, shrimp and grits, and they were all amazing! From the bakery I had the sweet potato biscuits, and a coconut cupcake; they were spectacular. And I think the cupcake was the best cupcake I've ever had in my whole life. I was really taken away by the cilantro corn pancakes, there is nothing like it! It's a must try! I had outside, but it looked clean, both inside and outside. I would sit inside next time though, the birds were making me nervous and there were too many people walking back and forth. I went on a sunday and it was very busy, so service wasnt the fastest, but it was still not slow, and the staff was very considerate!

I love brunch and anything related to brunch; however, today's experience at this location was terrible in every single aspect of a dining experience. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I will say that my girlfriends and I did walk in 20 minutes before close; however, that should not give any restaurant a reason to provide the worst food and service possible. There were four of us and as two entrees came first, the waitress decides to then tell me that they ran out of marinara sauce for my entree and asked if I would like anything else. Excuse me? Sigh, why she decided to wait 20 minutes to tell I will never know. So considering that two of my friends already had their food, I didn't want to wait another 15-20 minutes for another poorly executed entree, so I opted to order a bowl of the chicken chili instead. The chili was probably the only decent thing that we had at our table. I could have done with less beans and more chicken; however, the flavor was pretty decent and the bowl size was ginormous! Besides that, the french toast was undercooked (which we had to return back), the turkey in the herb roasted turkey sandwich was completely dry and the messy greens on the plate were a sad excuse for a salad. I really am not a mean person, but there truly is nothing good that I can say about this place. :( I am a fan of the original location; however, this location definitely left an unpleasantly sour taste in my mouth. I think I'll just stick to driving a few more minutes out to the original location, if I ever crave Highland Bakery in the future.
(1)Rob F.
I've been here twice but on my last visit, I knew a yelp review was in order. The thinly sliced salmon platter was ah-MAY-Zing! It's filled with intense flavors that are still dancing on my tongue and I can't wait to go back again. The rest of the menu, I will probably never be able to comment on, as I'm pretty sure I'll be ordering the salmon every time. I like the location and the layout is cool, despite being a smaller venue, they've done some innovative seating in the atrium. Looking forward to many more visits in the future.

The opening of this Highland Bakery location made me wish that I still worked in the Atlanta Financial Center. However, it's probably a good thing that I'm a hop, skip, and jump away so that I don't find an excuse to go there every day. I don't know how they managed to squeeze into the old Starbucks space, but they did, and they're off to a great start. There's outdoor seating, 8 tables or so inside, and then another handful of tables in the AFC lobby. They offer their brunch and lunch menus all day, as well as a large selection of baked goods. I had the thai tofu wrap with fruit. It was good, but really messy, so I probably wouldn't order it again. My dad asked for his roast beef sandwich without the spicy sauce, and when they forgot to leave it off, they were apologetic and more than happy to fix it. I sent a fruit tart home for my mom, which was a hit as evidenced by the "tart was berry good" text that I got from her today. There are only a couple of parking spots out front, so park in the parking garage and they will validate your ticket. I will be back... their coffee bar would make for a great break during the day. Chai tea latte, anyone?
(4)Alexis R.
I've always loved Highland Bakery's food, but the one in VaHi is so crowded. I've been three times to this Buckhead location (once post-Sunday-church and twice during the workweek) and I've never had a wait. The food is truly divine. My friend got the unbelievable sweet potato pancakes, while I tried to go a little healthier with a Mediterranean sandwich (goat cheese, fresh tomatoes, arugula, pesto). It's casual, the service was great, and they offer you To Go drinks. Can't get much better in terms of a lunch. Capping off the experience are the mini cupcakes. Although you may not be ready to indulge in a full-size cupcake during your work lunch--at least not when you're dining with other people--Highland Bakery offers a two-bite selection of cupcakes for $0.99 apiece. You can satisfy your sweet tooth without sending yourself into diabetic shock. Always a bonus. I highly recommend checking out the new HB location, whether you're looking for a new midday work spot or you're craving a weekend brunch without the wait.
(5)Meghan G.
Ordered a chai latte, basil soup, and half a turkey sandwich. Soup was my favorite and everything else was good. Glad it was near my hotel!

My friend and I had been drooling over their takeout menu for a few weeks before we finally got the chance to go... but it turned out to be a little more of a dud than I expected. Usually we opt for Flying Biscuit, but we switched it up to try out the rumored Peanut Butter French Toast madness (or whatever it's called, no matter how you slice it, that thing is MASSIVE). We had the breakfast burritos (not bad, could have used some more punch or spicyness) and the PB french toast thing which will basically put you in a diabetic coma it's so sweet and it's almost like eating cake, but overly sweet cake. We couldn't even finish half of it together before my teeth started to hurt. SUGGESTION: try to get the syrup and bananas on the side, so you can control the sugar intake and share it with at least 2 other people, or 1 person with a strong strong stomach for sugar. Atmosphere: Thumbs down. We were sat in an office building atrium with cold metal chairs and paper cups for coffee *also, no refills or warmups =*( . Not the coziness I was hoping for.. I didn't know about the original location (which I will definitely go try, because it sounds like the atmosphere I love in a breakfast place). If I worked in that building, it might be a nice quick break or lunch place. I might go back again, but Flying Biscuit still sounds better, and even though it's also at the base of an office building, it's cozy and the coffee flows freely into my sturdy ceramic mug.
(3)Michael P.
Horrible. The bagel that I ordered, toasted with butter, is the most atrocious monstrosity ever. It is limp and greasy and flavorless. The service was very poor (stood at the register waiting to be served while four associates didn't even acknowledge my presence for a couple of minutes). In addition to the wait, no good morning, no smile...just a greeting that would be more at home at the Varsity - Whatya have! I'll never go here again. If I have a hankering for Highland Bakery, I'll go to the real one, not this Starbucks knock-off.
(1)Jason B.
I've been to the original Highland Bakery several times and they've done a terrific job bringing their tasty food and friendly service from Old Fourth to Buckhead. Four of us went in on a Sunday just before noon and as a previous reviewer said, there was surprisingly no wait. While this was nice, I think most people just don't know it exists yet. A Google maps search for Highland Bakery only shows the original and Midtown locations and details about the Buckhead address are buried on the contact page of highlandbakery.com . They could definitely do a better job of self-promotion...or not, we really enjoyed our nice, quiet breakfast. As far as the food goes, my wife had the Cilantro Corn Pancakes and I had the Peanut Butter French Toast. Both were delicious and the french toast - which is normally pretty large - was even bigger than any I've had at the original Highland Bakery. The service was great as well. The only negative thing I can say about the place (and I'm sure it's true of the Midtown location as well) is that it doesn't have the same character and historic vibe as the original. Even with the hoards of patrons at the Highland Ave location, I'll still go there for the atmosphere, especially if I'm taking out friends and family members from out of town.
(4)Mandi T.
The food is pretty good for the prices. One of the best deals in town for brunch, we sat outside for Sunday brunch and it was fantastic! Their french toast is very, very good. This is a good spot...be prepared to wait a while and they only have 1 BATHROOM!!
(4)M. W.
I've eaten at almost all of the Highland Bakeries, and I must say, this one by FAR is the worst! The service is beyond slow. I mean SLOW. And the people who work there don't have a sense of teamwork. If the woman who is working the coffee bar is busy making drinks, you would think someone else would step in and help! But no--you just wait . . .and wait . . and wait. Being that this location is at the bottom of a large office building, you would think that management would stress the importance of speed, as well as quality. No one has 25 minutes to wait for a smoothie. Also, no one has 20 minutes to wait for fruit and yogurt. I work in the building and I would much rather go out of my way to Starbucks, and get a quality cup of coffee and food in a timely manner, than wait for the people at Highland Bakery to decide to make my order.
(1)Mike A.
Great place to grab a sandwich for lunch. Normally when I hit up Highland Bakery I'm looking for a tasty lunch to go. This place hits the spot. I generally stick to the roast beef sandwich and have loved it every time. It's a great value, much heartier than you would expect from a bakery. It also comes with what appear to be homemade potato chips, a real plus.
(4)Erika M.
Completely disappointing. Parking - horrible. Breakfast BLT - 1.5 slices of meh bacon. Coffee served in paper cups. No brown sugar for oatmeal (only some weird "brown sugar butter" fake syrup stuff.) Inattentive service (um, oatmeal requires a spoon.) Sitting in the atrium of an office building - blech. Definitely moved inside instead of sitting there. Cannot recommend. Will not be back.
(1)Jeremy C.
I don't know how to describe the food but it's all good. I can tell you the portion sizes are extremely large so come hungry or ready to take half home. The staff are incredibly friendly which is a plus. Oh the cupcakes how I can't resist them.
(4)Alex E.
So I spent about 3 weeks in atlanta training for work. I would say on the average day I would eat breakfast from here . Im a breakfast guy, I eat a larger breakfast on most days . After eating here for the first time I was in love. The service was amazing after going 3 days in a row they remembered my name and greeted me when coming in each morning. The food was outstanding , (Highland Breakfast) is a great choice as well as the breakfast BLT. Good food, and good atmosphere. One of the better places during the day in the Buck Head area.
(5)B P.
Awesome food. I enjoy the vegetarian selection. Some plates are huge, like the rustic Italian. Coffee is excellent.
(5)Raven G.
Omgeez!! I work next door at the W and decided to stop in for breakfaast as opposed to going to my usual spot (corner bakery) across the street and highland bakery if officially my new spot! No more corner bakery for me! The food was beyond amazing and so was the service! my friend ordered the sweet potatoe pancakes which they didn't have so got the french toast which was absolutely heavenly! The manager heard us discussing how good the shrimp and grits looked and gave it to us on the house since they didn't have the sweet potatoe pancakes. This place has me sold and I will return daily! It makes corner bakery look like poop on a stick!
(5)Susan M.
We used to love to come to this location because it is much less crowded than others. The food has always been delicious. However, the service gets worse every time we go. The wait staff is friendly but seem extremely overwhelmed. We used to get prompt service but the last two times we've gone it has taken a very long time for anyone to come take our order and then 30-45 minutes for any of our food to come out (and no, nothing we ordered is special or complicated). I want to continue going because the food is so good, but I'm not willing to spend all day sitting there to get it.

I wish I could give 0 stars. This place is beyond bad - food, service, everything - just bad. Since I work in the building I've gone here numerous times and have been very disappointed every time. If I walk down for a latte at 2:00 in the afternoon, it should not take 20+ minutes. I have started walking two blocks to Caribou because it's faster and the coffee is a lot better. Since it's a "bakery" I would have at least thought the pastries would make up for the coffe and that wait. WRONG. I've definitely gotten better pastries from the manager's special section at Publix. Safe yourself the time and aggravation and go somewhere else.

Happened upon this cosy bakery on the way to lunch at Corner Bakery ... glad we stopped! They have a great menu selection which included 6-7 options for vegetarians. I tried their crab sandwich, which was a substantial serving with fries and a pickle. My friend tried their hummus sandwich, and it was an even larger serving. Both tasted good, although the crab could be fresher. They had their Christmas cookies out (very cute, very festive). We bought three of their little cupcakes for afternoon tea - the red velvet was unimpressive, while the carrot cake was the winner. I would probably go back for lunch but pass on their pastries.

I have been to the main location on Highland and was hoping this location would be as good. NO LUCK. We were greeted by major confusion and chaos. A large party with at least 10 children had overrun the lobby/dinning area of the financial center, it was crazy. Climbing over furniture, food everywhere, yelling and screaming. Even if the parents were clueless on social courtesy the management should have stepped in to organize or evict the unruly crowd. I wanted to walk out. I was so embarrassed as we had invited another couple to join us , having gone on & on about how good the food is at Highland Bakery. Every one was annoyed with mouths wide open even our kids, It was awful. We had traveled a distance to get here and had talked the food up so much that we were determined to at least stay and enjoy the meal and excuse the rowdy party. Well this was a mistake. I guess they were worn out by the previous group because it took 30 minutes to put the area back in order and at this point we were the only party waiting. We were given plastic ware to dine with. The main menu item that we love was not at this location, never expected that . The items they do have were still as large in portion as the main location but unfortunately not as tasty. If you are trying this location based on the reputation of the main location DON'T DO IT. We were not impressed and I don't think I will give it a second chance.

I went here in September with my friend. I ordered the Cornmeal Pancakes. They were plate sized but very bland even though they contained black beans, salsa, and a dollop of sour cream. I thought they were priced too high at $10.00. I would rather get charged $7.00 and get smaller pancakes with more flavor. My friend gave me two slices of bacon. The bacon was burnt. The waitress was very nice. I ordered a cinnamon roll to go. The cinnamon roll was dry. There was only frosting on the top, not in between each individual layer of dough. The restaurant and restroom were clean. Most of the people inside the restaurant were eating baked good and drinking coffee, not eating meals. I was able to park in one of the designated spaces outside the Bakery.

Yikes. Poor excuse for Highland Bakery. Paper cups and no atmosphere here. Even the food didn't taste as good and felt rushed. Fine if they knock 30% off the price but certainly not worth paying the same that you would a bit further south at the other location (or across the street at some of the competitors).

I love this place in Midtown for their great sandwiches. However, while the wait is zero at their Buckhead location for weekend brunch (a rarity in the area), I have ended up waiting on two different occasions just as long as a more popular brunch place just to be served! Sitting anywhere other than directly inside by the counters made for extremely slow service, from initial menus/water to receiving the food - up for 45 minutes this past weekend to get our eggs. I am not a restaurant complainer, but after already mentioning the slow service to management the previous time, I was disappointed to see no changes had been made this time around. It's brunch food - the food should come fast, and it should come hot. Lukewarm scrambled eggs after 45 minutes is a no-go for me.

I absolutely love this place. If you go to the Buckhead location be sure to sit in either Darius or Daynus (sp?) section. They offer superb service. I love the food, the service and the atmosphere. Sweet potatoe pancakes, vegan food and jalapeno foccacia bread.... MMMM MMMM MMMMMMM. If you're in ATL you MUST try!

An update from my December review. After many months, I decided to see if they improved. Consistency and quality has seemed to improve, so, at least tentatively, I think they are on the right track. It can still take a while to get your order to go, but overall, much improved.

First time there - thought the menu sounded fine online, and it was my husband's birthday, so a semi-special brunch occasion....what a disappointment. First of all the service was extremely slow, and our food took for-e-ver. Then when the food did come out, the grits were cold, watery, and completely unseasoned. I asked for another bowl of grits that wasn't cold, and--this one took forever as well--the second bowl was barely warmer. I ordered the tofu scramble, although I'm not a vegetarian - I just usually enjoy something a little more savory and some vegetables with my grits. Well it is obvious that no one in the kitchen is a vegetarian either - this dish literally tasted like someone who had only heard of tofu just chopped it up with some vegetables (cut to all different sizes, mostly very large) and doused it in Bragg's Amino Acids liquid, you know, "because that's the stuff those hippies eat." It was completely disgusting and sloppy, and I wasn't able to eat more than 2 bites. My husband's crab cakes benedict was okay, but the English muffin was soggy -- yet another indicator that our food had sat in the kitchen for way too long before being brought out. At least the server took my meal off the ticket when my husband told him that I didn't find it appetizing. I found it strange though that it in a place that small no one noticed that I put the entire plate of food by the edge of the table and never touched it during the meal, when we were 10 feet from the cashier's counter the whole time. Overall crappy experience. Only redeeming qualities were good coffee and......well, yeah, just the good coffee. Just goes to show I should go with my instinct and never brunch in Buckhead again.

My husband and I have been coming here since it opened. I love the one on Highland....always have....and so we started coming here. We've always had great service, the food is really good...and consistent...and we can walk here. Love it! However, several weeks ago, we went on a Sunday for breakfast and watched as people all around us were sat down, ordered and were served. Meanwhile, we'd ordered but heard and saw nothing more of our server. He was around...just not around us. We figure they are busy but we are getting antsy....then, out of nowhere, he shows up with a pastry and a "it's going to be a while." OK, I was hungry so the pastry helped. But where was the "service?" Apology? no. Explanation? No. But then it was more seating, ordering, eating and no breakfast. So, my husband goes in to find out what is going on and is promptly ignored. He finds our server, who looks right at my husband and turns around to say, to the cook?..."I need a rush on..." (whatever we had ordered.) Really? It's now been 45 minutes AT LEAST. People all around us are finishing up and they'd gotten there when we did. But now you're clearly aware we've been forgotten. And still no apology or explanation?? I know things happen, but it was clear that we'd been forgotten...once when he brought the pastry with no explanation and then again when we followed up and our order still wasn't even IN. So, we did something we never do. We walked. Now, we love this place and especially love some of the servers (Li Li, Christie), so we decided we would not go and slam them on Yelp. We'd wait, go back, and give them the opportunity to make it right. We did read another review from that very Sunday about another couple that walked...and saw us walk. But still, we love it, so we'll give it another try and at least tell them what happened so they have the opportunity to improve. So we did. We had a very nice meal, great service as usual. However, when I went to the front and asked to speak to the manager, I got "he's too busy." Not "I'm sorry, he's tied up. Can I help you with something?" Not "He's really busy right now. Where are you seated, I'll send him over." So, I'm done. I'm sorry that the kitchen is too small. I'm sorry that you have gotten so busy that you cannot provide the service your longtime customers have enjoyed until. I'm sorry that your really good servers are losing regular customers because you cannot manage what is going on there. Mostly, I'm sorry that I won't be enjoying my Highland Breakfast with you anymore, because I really liked it. But you have done plenty to ensure me my business is not important to you.

I love this place and the staff is very helpful and friendly. The menu has a wide variety for breakfast, lunch and desserts.

constantly let down by this place. $4 for a stale eclair? really? working in buckhead means i have to navigate my way through the ridiculousness that is overpriced, over publicized, mediocre-at-best restaurants during lunch time. the original hi bakery is awesome. this one...no. sorry. the service is hit or miss, they don't keep up with their daily special inventory, and yes, they are pricey for stale food.

First time ordering grits in Atlanta, was disappointed. At least the coffee was good. I'd go back again to try something different.

Amazing food but I like the atmosphere of the one in the highlands better!!!! The peanut butter french toast can feed 4 people!!! Don't miss the sweet potato biscuits - yum!!!!

Been here twice and have encountered the same problems both times. Visitor parking in the garage is too far from the bakery. The outdoor dining area seems more like a temporary set-up. It could stand to have some planters or be made to look a little more welcoming than a generic office building courtyard on a busy Peachtree. I was actually envying the happy patrons across the street at Maggiano's outdoor cafe. Even though our server was nice and obviously running around like crazy from table to table, we had to wait a long time to order and for everything else. Coffee arrived without sugar and another wait ensued. Our shared entrees arrived without an extra plate, which meant yet another wait. We dug in anyway and our eggs were ice cold and the salsa on our tortillas was dried out and caking like it had been sitting out too long. The menu looked so good, but we left unhappy campers on ever front.

There was nothing bad about it, but I expected more from a bakery. I had the "bagel" which was really a roll. As a roll, it was good; not so much as a bagel. Overall, I felt it was hotel food; fine but bland.
