The mother of Jewish breakfast spots. I love this place. My goyim boyfriend and I come here about every weekend now. Most recently i had pancakes there and they were perfect. My boyfriend always gets a different omelette and leaves with a smile. They just do breakfast right. My Bubby also uses them to cater family meals. Couldn't recommend this place more highly.

I'm from NY/Philadelphia and am a total bagel snob. These get two thumbs up-- in fact, the whole place does. It has a true NY deli feeling and the service was quick, unphased by custom orders, and really kind. I'd definitely return!

This Philadelphian couldn't be happier to find Goldbergs. Had the lox/capers/cc on a toasted asiago cheese bagel. Hot damn, tasty shit.

Located a little down the street from my hot yoga studio in The Fresh Market shopping center. My bf, friend, and I stopped by and decided to dine in. There are two sides to the restaurant: To go and dine in. Very efficient. We were sat immediately and the service was quick and friendly. We collectively ordered a egg and meat bagel (sesame) with fresh fruit and a country omelette with a cinnamon rasin bagel and fresh fruit. A little disappointed in the selection of cream cheeses purely because I had a particular one I was looking for (a honey almond variation), but the number of options aren't lacking. Bagel was delicious as was all the rest of the food ordered. I only had one issue, and it's because our server kept dropping stuff (food/check) and leaving. If we were more aggressive in asking for things for our food (like hot sauce) this wouldn't be bad, but there's an offer on the door that lets you write a review and get 10% off your ticket and we didn't get a chance to mention it to the server before the ticket was dropped off and the server was gone again. Overall, this is a great place. Especially if you're in a rush because they sure are quick.

Nothing special about the Bagels and the cream cheese here. I visited this place to buy a bulk order of bagels and cream cheese being under the impression they are Gourmet. The bagels have variety of flavors like Rye, Pumpkin etc. you will not be disappointed if you are looking for the variety, but my disappointment came from the cream cheeses. Their website boasts a variety of cream cheese and when i actually visited the place they had only 4 or 5 varieties. I bought regular, Olive, chive cream cheese and around 30 bagels. Here comes the fun part, i asked our server to mark the cream cheese with the names on it and he was reluctant to do it. He kept asking me why and I said "to differentiate the flavors" ,the response tot hat was rather funny as he said you can know the difference by seeing which is true if they are something like blueberry or strawberry, but these all have the same color and I had to insist. But they had some muffin samples (blueberry, chocolate and brownie) and they are the best I ever had. Over all the pricing was okay but the muffins were the stunners.

I got food to go. I liked the setup for this Goldbergs better than the other one I've been to. I got the bagel and lox special, which comes with a small coffee. The lox wasn't too fishy like some places. The coffee was delicious. I also got a dozen bagels (you get 13) and matzo ball soup. The bagels are some of the best I've had. There's a huge selection of bagel types. The soup was good. A little salty, but had good taste and helped my sore throat.

Worst split pea soup ever. Had the consistency of baby food. Just not worth the price and I'm from Brooklyn home of Juniors where they serve real sour pickles.

Wayne and crew are still going strong. Something in the recipe I guess... Great for lunch if you can stand the (often) busy pace. It does tend to move along quickly, though - all tables were full when we went just after noon today, but the turnover was pretty quick. The sandwiches may be on the pricey side but, eh, they're big and delicious. Any can be heated up (toasted, cheese melted, whatever) and if you're a turkey lover like me, get the roast turkey with muenster, L & T (I get it on a toasted sesame bagel). While they now offer *cool* things like flatbreads, I think it's the classics they do right. Delicious (and satisfyingly simple) chicken and tuna salad. Still my fave bagels in town - and now, when you get bagels to go, your freezer bag isn't just a plain plastic anymore - you're getting a sturdier deal with their logo. Little things like this make me smile. Oh, and it's still a great breakfast spot- and they serve it all day, from 6a-5p, 7-days. Yums.

A poor excuse for a NYC deli. I've had rancid chopped liver twice when I went in on a Monday. Since they apparently don't throw out old food Latkes have shrunk and they undercook them. The new owner left his personality in his country of origin. I wouldn't go back if they paid me!!

Great classic NY deli here in Atlanta - but the whole time there this quote kept ringing in my head.....see picture It is a little peace of heaven...sweet pickles on the table, friendly service - GREAT Reuben - good cole slaw, great Chicken and Tuna Salad! We'll be back!

I am such a fan of this place. The service can be hit or miss and the weekend lines may send you running in fear but I assure you, you won't wait long and it will be worth it. Their food is so fresh and delicious and the prices are great. I always order the Nox and onions on side w/ 2 eggs over sleazy and whatever bagel I am feeling at that moment because YOU CAN'T GO WRONG.

After hearing so many Atlantans swear by Goldberg's as "the best", I finally made my merry way to the Roswell Road location on Saturday morning and, although our treats hit that bagel-cravin' spot, I'm afraid I'm just not a convert. Let me break it down into pro's and con's for this one... PROS: - Not overcrowded on a weekend morning (surprisingly) - The bagels are obviously fresh - They offer a vast variety of bagel flavors! Way more than Einsteins. - Decent cream cheese (we tried sun dried tomato, cinnamon raisin, and lox flavors) - Good portion size (I couldn't even finish my bagel) - They remembered their "regulars" (more than one customer came in that the staff referred to by name) CONS: - Staff was too informal- I felt like I was intruding on their time because I didn't know the menu and wanted to look - The lox. I didn't taste fresh at all. Ick. - The prices- two bagels and a drink came out to $15 (Seriously though... bagels are $1 for a bag of six at the store) I would definitely go back to try out their other bagel flavors- but it will have to be a "splurge" morning.

Went there for an early lunch today. Wife informed me not long ago they have a sit-down dining area so we decided to check it out. Kids got the hot dog off the kid's menu. Excellent. You know, had to sample it. Big bun (I cannot lie) and big hot dog. Very tasty, reminds me of Hebrew National or Nathan's. Fries were average. Boy had the fruit salad on the side and he enjoyed it. Wasn't into the pineapple today so I had to eat it and it was good. Sweet and not too sour at all. Very ripe. Wife had a salad. Decent, nothing fancy. Ranch was okay, not the best I've had. She also had the rotisserie chicken. It was dry. Not overly, but enough that it didn't taste that great. Not sure if it was from the night before or what but unless I see a better one, I wouldn't get it. It is a half chicken so certainly not your standard deli fare anyway. Her mashed potatoes on the side were good. I got the Brooklyn reuben. This was excellent. I always try to gauge the quality of a deli based on their reuben. The corned beef was not tough and even though there was fat on it, it wasn't chewy or rubbery fat. Good flavor. Decent size, good amount of quality kraut and the Russian dressing was slightly on the sweet side which I liked. Definitely worth going there for that. On the side was a potato salad. It was nice. The mayonnaise dressing was very light and not too heavy at all. So, if you go for the standard deli items, I think they do a good job. Will definitely go again to try some other items. Price was slightly on the higher side than what you might expect but for the quality, I think it was on par.

Excellent place to stop in for a bite to eat. We were craving some lunch on Sunday & a friend of mine told me about Goldberg's months ago. Very busy, even for the late lunch time on a Sunday, we had great (fast) service with some yummy plates. I had the chicken salad on a toasted, everything bagel with cole slaw. The sandwich was fantastic; piled high, freshly made chicken salad on a homemade bagel. The cole slaw was good, but not to my liking as much because I prefer a much tangier slaw & this was a little bland. My girlfriend had the brisket & she enjoyed that. We also split the reuben egg rolls, a cool twist on the classic reuben, which was so cool & an awesome appetizer. Love that they have a jar of pickles on each table (sweet butter) too! Atmosphere looks like a traditional dinner/deli w/ simple settings & a great place for kids. I will definitely be back & try some breakfast next time.

I'm a long time fan of this place. Great breakfasts and fresh baked bagels. Sandwiches are very good and the service is above average. Take out casseroles, sandwiches, salads, etc.. Lucky to have as a part of the Atlanta food culture!

Talk about authentic deli! When you can't be in NYC, this is the place. Amazing selection of deli meats, cheeses and of course smoked fish. Yea, they definitely know their Lox from Nova. Awesome all the way. Happy eating! Mike

Picked up small catering order for holiday party in which I wanted to represent a kosher station. Worked with Howard who offered suggestions. Elected the latkes, reuben egg rolls and a mix of veggie pierogies as well as brisket pierogies. All items were partially cooked to allow me final cooking before service . All items held up beautifully on the station, presented well. Quantities were generously more than I ordered , maintaining agreed upon fee. Very impressed! Thank you to all staff and thank you Howard!

The general atmosphere of the diner is great...and the food smells amazing. Felt like a sports bar but at the same time, a family diner. I ordered a Deli Burger which was delicious. The saukeraut and pastrami added that slight tinge that made the burger, served in rye bread, lively and flavorful. The onion rings were nice and crunchy. It was not very greasy which is atypical of the usual onion ring. Only complaint was portion size was too big (not exactly a complaint and also account for the fact Asians generally have smaller portion sizes) Would definitely go back again.

Atlanta's standards for Jewish deli and bagels should be higher. But given lack of competition, sadly this is the best our city has to offer. (I don't really consider General Muir a deli). The bagels are good, not great. The deli meats are good, not great. The whitefish and lox are good, not great. In fact, I think they buy everything except the breads, bagels and rotisserie chicken from a food service company. Pretty sure the whitefish salad is Acme Brand. The corned beef and pastrami sit in their deli case vacuum wrapped from their purveyor. That said, if your craving Jewish Deli, Goldbergs is about all we got. And bring some money, it ain't cheap.

We heard great things about this place and decided to try it with a group of friends. We ordered bagels, scrambled eggs, omelette, sandwiches and a salad. I think this is a good variety to base a review on. Nothing was exceptionally tasty - everything was average. The service was slow. The best thing we liked about this place is their coffee. It is really really good.

Great deli! Great bagels. Great pastrami sandwiches (had the California Ruben substituting cole slaw for the sauerkraut), wonderful omelettes. But probably my favorite thing I've had there is the brisket quesadilla. Sounded a little odd but I thought I'd give it a try. OMG. I've had it twice. I could probably do this place 4-5 times a week, and not get tired of it.

They have the best bagels and are freshly baked everyday! Their cinnamon buns are awesome too and use a cream cheese frosting that gives it a unique flavor. Great customer service here too, always served by a friendly face. Their subs to go are an all time favorite of mine and make a great on the go lunch.

Goldberg's is consistently good! Love their bagels, of course! Had scrambled eggs and bacon, side of tomatoes. Hubby had French toast and bacon - said it was good, but nothing special. Love the bread and butter pickles on the table.

Love this place. Have been going for years. Great service. They have a ton of bagels including gluten free. They also have sandwiches and salads and some traditional Jewish food. Jaime is the best waitress.

Gratifying Grub When Cavalia was in Atlanta some years ago, we chanced across this place for an early breakfast, but duing this visit we deliberately sought it out for lunch. Glad we did. The portions are hearty; good deli food. Some folks, in other reviews, have criticized the bagels, but I found my cranberry bagel to be a satisfactorily tender/chewy. Service was typical for this type of eatery. Date of Visit: 24Mar14

I would like to start by saying long lines usually are a good thing for me! I like knowing that where I have decided to eat is a popular destination. Today at Goldberg's Bagels and Deli it was the exception. I don't know what people are standing in line for. After waiting in the take-out line about 15 minutes we order. We then move to the cashier line to go pay. Nobody tells us where the food comes out, where we wait... Nothing. There's 3 different lines in the place. (One for the people willing to wait for a table, one for take-out orders and one line for the cashier.) It was utter chaos, customers were walking around looking for their food. After a good 25-30 minutes we get our food. I'm still excited to see how this "New York Deli" stacks up. (Obviously the lines of people tell me it has to be crazy good for people to endure the insanity at Goldberg's Bagels and Deli.) I got a pastrami on rye (my go to at any decent looking New York deli). The meat was dry and chewy. The bread was stale and hard. I was incredibly disappointed. I tried a bite of my wife's BLT... YUCK. The only good thing I can tell about this experience is, the fries were pretty good and the Simply Apple juice was good. I don't know what I'm missing with this place? Why do so many people endure the punishment for something so pathetic? I seriously would rather eat a subway sandwich.

I've been coming here since I was a kid as I have family in the area and now I work in the area. I'm not religious but I definitely consider myself an evangelist for their bagels (bagel game is STRONG). Unbelievably flavorful bagels/cream cheeses and friendly service. I love getting a sesame or pumpernickel and rye bagel with sun dried tomato cream cheese. All of their cream cheeses are delicious and their bagels are great toasted or cold. The lunch rush can be kind of stressful but you can eat at the bar next to the bagel display which is nice. And they have one of those sweet soda robots with a million flavors of carbonated libations to choose from.

I'm Jewish by heritage and traveled to New York and Miami every summer growing up. My favorite thing was going to the great Jewish deli's and having bagels with smear...this place is awesome! The bacon/egg/cheese on whole wheat bagel was so fresh and yummy. I love sitting on the deck and listening to the local group of Jewish business men chat...

I've been coming to this Goldbergs since my parents tugged me along as a baby in the 80s! As always, excellent food, prices, and very friendly service. Always fast and the atmosphere is low key. I usually come for breakfast/brunch and love the nova -- smoked salmon, cream cheese, capers & a bagel. The nova omelette is great too! Sidebar that their lunch deli is excellent and such a huge fan of the pastrami sandwich. We just moved around the corner after a few years on other side of buckhead, very excited to have this back for weekend brunch! Will absolutely be back for more decades to come!

Great food and service. Delighted to find the place while driving through Atlanta and stopped looking for breakfast. Had bagels and eggs and a side of smoked salmon, all excellent. Latke was not the best I ever had.

Ok food, bad service, crazy hectic, busy! I got a blt sandwich. The bacon was tough, the bread was dry and you have to put your own condiments on it- it comes strictly with just bacon, lettuce, tomato. Not sure why this place is so busy all the time? I would much rather have panera!

Went to Goldberg's for lunch today. Ordered the NYC Style Pastrami on Rye, Stacked and plenty of meat! Not as dry as the Tavern at Phipps but still dry! They used a slicer as well, should be hand carved. Pickle was horrible. Service was excellent. Still unable to satisfy my NYC style Pastrami craving. Onto the next recommendation Star Provisions.......... Beware of the parking lot, can be difficult to navigate durung busy times.

First time here, and it was a good experience overall. Our server, Jill, was super nice and took time to explain things on the menu. She also came by repeatedly (without being a bother) to make sure we were doing alright. My one complaint is that they undercooked my eggs over easy (too much of the whites was clear!) but I didn't complain so I didn't give them a chance to correct it...oh well. The bagels were up to par with NYC bagels and we liked the variety as well as the variety of cream cheese.

After passing this place so many times, we decided to give it a try during the lunch hour. The place itself is pretty much divided in half. Half is for seating and half for placing orders ect. They had a nice selection of fresh bagels and condiments. What stands out the most is the service. A+. There was little to no wait. We mentioned it was our first visit to the guy behind the counter and he explained what some of the menu items were. He also let us sample some of the chicken salad, tuna salad and potato salad. All 3 were tasty. I was surprised that there was just enough flavor in each without being overwhelming. You know like when you bite into potato salad and nearly pucker up because it's a bit sour or something? The menu was a reasonable size. It also listed that if they don't have the premade sandwich you're looking for, they can make it with the ingredients they have on hand. That's somewhat a rarity for me to find listed on the menu in a bagel shop. Usually hit or miss whether or not they will custom make something for you... Anyway, I tried the brisket sandwich. It was perfectly cooked. Cooked enough so there was no funny colored areas on the meat, but still moist. The only thing that topped off that sandwich was a little BBQ! The only bagel i wished they made was "spinach asiago." Overall, I'd give this place a 4.5/5, but since there are no half star ratings it gets rounded up! This is my new neighborhood bagel spot.

Hungry and maybe a little lost, I turn into a plaza and saw the sign for Goldbergs. "Sounds familiar," I say. I decide to hop in and have a bagel. Walking in, I'm a little disoriented. Seating on the right signaled a family sit-down restaurant but all the cases in the left signal deli and to-go central. I head straight for the bagel counter in the back and relish seeing all the bagels in a jumble. The incredibly kind guy took my order and while I waited for the bagel to toast, I peruse all the overhead menus. Hot sandwiches, soups, salads - all in a homey environment - nice! But one bite into by sesame bagel with hummus and lettuce tells me that this place also has good food. I may be a bit biased because a sesame bagel hardly does me wrong, but oh man, it hit the spot. I now know why Goldberg's sounds familiar; it has many good reviews on Yelp. Hey, it's not H&H Bagels, but I'll take what I can get. Now if someone can tell me why I saw such a huge proportion of men in the area driving little zippy sports cars.... Weird. Or maybe not.

First of all, I am ashamed to admit that I have never had a real New York bagel. But, that being said, I bet my bottom dollar that the NY bagels are way better than these. I really couldn't tell any difference between these bagels, or Einstein's or Panera for that matter. Good, but not killing me. I actually like Einstein's flavored cream cheese a bit better also.

We seem to get to Goldberg's once a year for a late breakfast and are always pleased with the food. We don't have anything similar in Tallahassee so not much to compare to. The potato latkes are very yummy and the coffee is tasty.

I love a good bagel from time to time, and Goldberg's makes a good bagel. They have a great selection of fresh bagels, awesome freshly made cream cheeses, and fantastic hearty sandwiches. The staff is always friendly and service is prompt. A great thing about Goldbergs is that eventhough it is reasonably priced to begin with, they always have coupons for buy one, get one free breakfast and lunch in those coupon magazines you get in the mail. :)

It's average.....Not thrilling I went to the spot on Roswell Rd located within a strip shopping center across from McDonalds. It's right next to one of my favorite hamburger joints, Five Guys. There is a decent little patio area and the interior is about average in dining room size. Similar I suppose to the location on E.Paces Ferry. The restaurant and dining area looked clean as expected with no noticeable issues I could see. We were seated at what I thought was an obnoxiously small table for 2. There wasn't a vast amount of room for dishes and cups. I ordered the 3 egg omelet with one meat which was chicken. It came with a bagel and tomato slices. At $10 I thought the price was a little excessive. The omelet only contained chicken and no other fillings like peppers or onions. I suppose I could have ordered them separately but why should I? Usually those items are included in most omelets made to order. The bagel seemed to be fresh, soft and decent with the cream cheese. The coffee was average with no real exception. I did have an issue with service as I though they were a bit rushed and not as friendly. Overall my experience was decent but not overwhelming.

Anybody that thinks these bagels resemble NY bagels in any way, shape or form needs to take a trip back to the homeland and refresh their memories. The chew on these bagels is about 2 days stale. I could buy some frozen Lenders Bagels at Wal-Mart, douse them in some Country Crock spread, throw them in a toaster oven and get better results. Holy crappy bagels Batman - Mr. Goldberg has obviously converted to Catholicism.

this is a good place. they have a great menu selection. my friend got the turkey burger and he loved it. so juicy and a great size. i got the corned beef sandwich on challah bread. the bread was one word-AMAZING!!! i should have asked to buy a whole loaf. this was truly a NY deli sandwich; piled high with beef and yummy to the last bite. i had only mustard and swiss cheese on it. it was pretty dry but i still enjoyed it. i got the side of pasta salad (that comes with the sandwich), too tiny a size to enjoy it. I'll get chips next time.

I pick up lunch for the office from Goldberg's periodically and I have to say they do a great job. If you like meat on your sandwich..this place is great..not just a few slices..the sandwiches are LOADED with meat.. I made the mistake of ordering a NY stack of pastrami because I was so excited to even find a pastrami sandwich..It took me two days to finish it for lunch, dinner and lunch again..haha...delish! I haven't tried the bagels yet, but plan to soon.

I have lived in Atlanta for 1 1/2 years and have not made it to the Goldberg's Bagel Company...until now! My sister lives on Roswell Road near the location in the new-and-improved Weiuca-Roswell shopping center (aka Fresh Market parking lot) so we stopped by for brunch. I've never been to a true NY deli before, but if I were to imagine one it would be a lot like Goldberg's. Why have I never visited this fine establishment before? There was a line for brunch, but it seemed to be moving at a reasonable pace. Since I just wanted a bagel sandwich, we ordered something to go and ate on the patio outside (this was before the temperature dipped into the 20's). I had mine with eggs, ham and cheese - yum! My sister got the white fish on her bagel. The staff was so nice and knew a few of the patrons by name. I wish I lived closer. I would visit there so often that they would learn my name, too. Maybe one day.

I don't know from bagels. A bagel is a bagel. But Goldberg's is an awesome lunch spot. Chicken noodle soup with matzo is perfect on a cold January day (like today) and it comes with crunchy, dry thin bagel slices on the side. What, yesterday's bagels maybe? Baked again to be really crunchy? Doesn't matter, they're amazing with the soup. Sandwiches are generous. Great baked sweets. Outstanding service. Lunch hour, you may have to wait a bit for a table, and there's a long high counter with stools. Tough neighborhood, since the world-famous OK Cafe is 50 yards away, but Goldberg's is a terrific option if time is short.

  • Joshua V.

I only ever eat their bagels, but I eat a LOT of their bagels. They're always fresh, perfectly toasted, and available with some really delicious cream cheese options. I recommend the Asiago (w/ Jalapeño Cream Cheese) or the Six-Grain (w/ Hummus or Peanut Butter). There's a veggie burger for lunch, but I wouldn't put this at the top of my list for vegetarian or vegan dining. The service is very friendly, and tolerant of regulars who stick around too long.

Austin lacks bagels. Oh sure, I can run by Central Market and grab a 4-pack of frozen H&H bagels, but we lack a truly fresh, real bagel in this city. Lucky for me I make it out to Atlanta a few times a year and Goldberg's is right down the street from my Nana's and my brother (separately. They don't live together. That'd be weird.) Goldberg's bagels are REAL BAGELS! And I can always bring some home with me. I love them with a schmear (they have olive cream cheese!), with lox spread, or as a lox sandwich. Sometimes I hit up the deli/bakery side, sometimes, I go sit down in the restaurant, but no matter what, I always get in touch with my inner chosen person at Goldberg's. In addition to great bagels, the po-boy at Goldberg's is so good I've flown home with it. Not your typical New Orleans po boy, but more like a sub/hoagie/hero/whatever you want to call it. I call it good. They also have amazing casseroles in the freezer that you can take and bake. The chicken/broccoli/rice is incredibly decadent and the perfect comfort food. I may not love Atlanta, but I love Goldberg's and am very glad I'll be there in a couple of weeks to get my fix.

Does not compare to any Miami or NY Deli. The guys who own it are very nice guys. The soup is good. The meats are not good. It simply does not rise to the level of a decent deli.

Real authentic New York bagels can only be found at Goldberg's Bagel Company & Deli in Atlanta. If you're a transplant from the northeast, you know exactly what I'm referring to. Bagels sold at massive chain restaurants cannot compare to bagels made fresh from a Jewish bakery. People come from all over bypassing sub par bagel shops to eat at Goldberg's. Plain, cinnamon raisin, poppy seed, everything, etc., all naturally soft and they don't require toasting. These bagels go well with cream cheese or butter and unlike other bagel shops, at Goldberg's; you can also get real Lox (smoked salmon) and other spreads and delicacies. My favorites are a plain bagel with butter, which is just over one dollar, and a poppy seed bagel with mustard, turkey and cheese; delicious and even better with a coke! Like a true bakery, Goldberg's also serves black and white cookies, assorted pastries and my beloved chocolate chip cookies filled with fudge. Breakfast and lunch sandwiches, knishes, are available as well as salads. To experience a true bagel visit Goldberg's at any of the locations listed below. There is a reason this place is always packed when I go! 1272 West Paces Ferry Road, NW Atlanta, Georgia 30327 (404) 266-0123 4373 Roswell Road NE Atlanta, Georgia 30342 (404) 256-3751 4520 Chamblee Dunwoody Road #A Dunwoody, Georgia 30338 (770) 455-1119

In a city full of phony "bagel" shops like Einstein's, Goldberg's has the best bagels in Atlanta, and they make a great Po boy sandwich as well. The service is always great, but ask for Anthony if you are looking for takeout at Buckhead.

Goldberg's is great, their bagels are fresh and more traditional than the super chain Einstein's across the street. It gets packed on the weekends, for late breakfast/early lunch time. Plus the guy who works the counter on the weekend, Ola, (I think is his name) always has some new free stuff for you to try. Definitely worth your time to check it out.

i read online that goldbergs was the best place to get a bagel in atlanta...this may be true...but being the best bagel place in atlanta is like being the smartest kid in a gang of retards...goldbergs bagel company is to bagels what whoopi goldberg is to bagels... anyway....if you want to eat at a good jewish deli...go to new york or miami....if you can't make the trip and you are in need of a distant relative of a jewish deli go to goldbergs...

The manager, Howard, provided the worst customer service I have received in a long time. I called and spoke with him about using a coupon for a dessert tray for an event I was attending at 5:30pm one night. When I arrived to pick up the other item at 4:45pm Howard told me he would not honor the coupon. When I asked him why he did not call me to let me know(he took my number with the order) he did not have an answer. So I was standing there dressed and ready to go to my event straight from Goldberg's and I had no dessert tray as promised. He made No effort to accommodate me and left me in a real bind. I would never have purchased the other things I ordered if I were not so pressed for time. To make matters worse I called Wayne at cooperate over the next few day and left several messages that were never returned. I was shocked and outraged at Howards refusal to honor the coupon and keep the verbal agreement we made over the phone. I will never use this restaurant again.

simple food, done right @ a decent price! try the lox on a bagel. try the pastrami. there will always be a line there so they get one star deducted but the staff is experienced and knows what they are doing!

It's been one busy morning! I woke up, took a shower, cleaned my bathroom, and made it to 10 am mass at Sacred Heart downtown. By the end of the service, I was starving and had a craving for a bagel. And not just any bagel, but a good one with lox and cream cheese and capers. (Yum!) I've heard good things about Goldberg's but I've never been there before today. I decided to go to the Roswell location because I also wanted to check out Abbadabba's as well. There was a line almost reaching the door when I first walked in. Maneuvering my way through the crowd, I made it to the "take out" area, where the trays of bagels, breads, and pastries are on display behind a glass window. I was immediately approached by a gentleman behind the counter who graciously asked "can I help you?" He must have noticed the bewildered look on my face, because I knew what I wanted but I couldn't find it (the menu is really extensive and whenever I'm "REALLY hungry" I can't think straight and sometimes I just start pointing!) But I got through my order (plain bagel, lox, cream cheese, capers, and tomato) and Anthony (the nice man) got it out to me in less than 5 minutes. I noticed that a lot of "regulars" seem to come to this location because he would greet them with the same enthusiasm and simply ask "Are you having the usual today?" How's that for outstanding customer service! And not only did I get the bagel I was craving (which was amazing by the way!) but on the way to the register was a self-serve Icee Machine in the best flavors ever--coke and cherry! I haven't had an Icee in forever. It's the closest thing to a 7-11 slurpee (it's a virginia thing). There was no contest in choosing Icee over my usual morning coffee.

I love this place for breakfast-the best bagels in Buckhead. The 88 health grade (B), however, has been posted for a month by the cashier and it's hard for me to not to stare at it when paying the check. Come on guys-can't you get someone out there to reinspect? It still can't deter me from those asiago cheese bagels & the yummy omelets. The staff here is amazing-some of the hardest working folks in the neighborhood. I also love those coupons for $5 off in the Savvy Shopper direct mail magazine.

Wow, definitely not what I expected! When you hear "Bagel Company" you immediately think it's a calorie factory, but I was happy to learn it's a deli, too! I've been twice to get a to-go sandwich and once to sit down and all three meals were great. Way overcrowded at lunchtime, but that just speaks to it's quality!

Agreed Jaye J.- I love Austin and miss it desparately but it does not have any good bagels. It made me sad. Fortunately, now that I live here I can get great bagels at Goldberg's all the time. My friend and I go almost every weekend to the Roswell location- seriously. We had to switch temporarily to West Paces during the renovation but now we are back in action at our original locale. Both are good but Roswell is definitely more spacious. It is not the best bagel in the world (I think Bagel Palace may be better), but it is pretty darn tasty. Plus the staff is friendly and consistent- it seems as if the same people have been working there for years. They also make a delicious latke and the corned beef is top notch, if you like that sort of thing.

This was the only bagel I ever truly knew before wandering out west. And remains the best by far. To be sure, had I gone north and east, I'd likely have found a comparable feast. But, alas, I am adrift in a western wasteland devoid of a good nosh. That said, there are plenty of other tasty eats to enjoy in Cal. But this morning, chomping through a long sought after and at last acceptable Sacto bagel, I reminisced of youthful innocence, naivete and pure oneg bagel (bagel delight).

Even though it's in a strip mall, it looks and feels like being at a deli in New York. Goldberg's turns into a real neighborhood deli early on weekends when people from all over the area drop in to pick up a box of bagels and some sides. The prices are better than you'd find at a big chain and the taste is world's better. It's a great place to grab a knish and read a paper on a slow Saturday morning. The staff is a little crusty too, just like a good bagel.

Without fail you will run into someone you know here, especially on a Sunday morning (so don't even think about showing up with bed head). It's a who's who of Atlanta, but how can it not be? As the only place in town for a good New York bagel, this is the place to begin your day.

just moved back to atlanta from new york and this is the closest thing i have seen to a real bagel shop outside of nyc, very good but i prefer tals on 86th with the crisp outside and soft inside, but i guess i will have to go to goldbergs for a very good bagel

Okay, I've worked in Buckhead for almost 7 years now, but only recently discovered Goldberg's. I am sad that it took so long. I guess I was just used to the stereotypical "sandwich" shop, of which I had become bored. Now, I crave the Goldberg's Brooklyn Ruben... Granted, it's not cheap at around $11, but it's certainly large enough for two meals. You also have the option to "supersize" it for around $15, which is closer to what you'd pay in NYC, but I have not found a need to do so. The other thing I love, is the huge choice of sides - wonderful, creamy potato salad, chips, fries and onion rings - that's right, onion rings! Sure, there are cheaper selections (such as the Po'Boy - also good, and very large), but if you are in the mood for a real deli-style sandwich, this is the place. The other thing: they serve breakfast all day long... I have been to lunch at both the Roswell Road and West Paces Ferry locations, and had a very good experience both times. The service staff has been excellent, and we are usually surrounded by what appear to be "regulars", many of whom appear to be transplants from New York. Kind of adds to the authenticity, in my opinion. I love going to a place where people know each other and the wait staff knows them.

The coffee is amaze, I am sure there is some kind of weird artificial ingredients in the flavored coffee but, I DO NOT CARE! When their bagels are fresh they are awesome and they will even "scoop" them out for you- it saves about 100 cals! The soup is good but, nothing to ride home about. The platters are a hit but, pretty sure when you add mayo to anything it is delicious :). I really could sit there for hours and make a meal off of pickles and bagel chips. My fav deli in the ATL :). Winner, winner.

I am a big fan of Goldberg's. Not only do they have fantastic bagels - they have a wide variety of other foods as well. My personal go to item on their menu is the breakfast sandwich - I get mine with egg, cheese and bacon on an asiago cheese bagel. Yum yum yum. It is one of the best weekend breakfasts and always hits the spot. The sit down portion of the restaurant has a lot of other good diner style breakfast options as well - eggs, toast ,etc. I'm really looking forward to going back soon to try the lunch and dinner options. They have lots of amazing looking sandwiches and wraps, as well as take and bake casserole type dinner options. Definitely check out this location if you are in the Buckhead area! You will not be disappointed.

Once again the staff has screwed up my to go sandwich. If I ask for something specific, I get something entirely different. My buddy called me from the deli to ensure the correct order. The preparer decided to do his thing thus ruining my sandwich! I see I'll have to go to another store because this one screws up!

For a weekday breakfast treat, we visited Goldberg's, even stopping in long enough for table service. I knew immediately what I'd be getting - nova lox and bagel on everything bagel. Once the server informed J that you could get everything on the menu at any time - meaning breakfast for dinner or dinner for breakfast - he got the pastrami stack. I was immediately thrilled by the jar of pickle slices on every table. Unfortunately, they were bread and butter, not kosher dill as I was expecting. So I only ate the one. Our food came pretty quickly. The bagel sandwich was pretty good, with the highlight being the lox. The tomato was a little on the mealy side, and I would've preferred more capers. J ate his whole sandwich and loved every bite. You pay at the front when you're done. All in all, it was a good experience, though a little pricey - don't get me wrong, they're quality ingredients, and they're fairly priced, but $35 on breakfast for 2 is not something that we'll be doing on a regular basis. #Yelp365 - 357/365

Our favorite neighborhood deli where we feel like family. This is a Jewish-style deli, so stick to the traditional deli foods and you can't go wrong (don't go expecting Panera). The service is fast and friendly. Our kids' only complaint is that they aren't open for supper.

I finally popped my lox bagel cherry! A deliciously toasted bagel topped with capers, tomatoes, onions, lox, and copious amounts ( perhaps too much) cream cheese. Service was quick and friendly. Gotta love the guy working the counter who called me love, sweetie, and baby about a million times! a bit packed on the weekend, but take out was fast and simple! I spied some rugelach there as well, so with that in mind Goldberg's is definitely on my breakfast rotation list.

This isn't a good location. Sit down Staff back chats customers, egg salad is frozen and wasn't thawed before it hit my plate. Free pickles don't make up for the short fall

I have always thought that Goldberg's was a Jewish deli until recently hearing that it is not Jewish owned. The crowd that comes in here is most certainly mostly Jewish, or at least that was the case this past Saturday. This past weekend we went here to dine in the dining room part; usually we just get a bagel and take it with us. The menu wasn't all that impressive to me, but they did have a couple of items on there that seemed good. I ended up getting the egg with corn beef hash. The food was ok, but lacked flavor. Service here was very very slow. It wasn't that the service was not good, as our waitress did a great job; it was just that the place was packed and way understaffed. They had about 3 servers taking care of the whole dining room and it made it slow to get seated, get our order taken, get refills and get the check; granted we were not in a hurry but they could staff up a little better here. Anyway, this place is great to grab a bagel and run but I would not recommend it for a sit down breakfast in the dining room.

I drive by Goldberg's twice a day, at minimum, and far too rarely stop in for bagels or a sandwich. This morning, however, I found myself out and about far earlier than I usually am on my day off and caught myself just before passing the turn into the Fresh Market shopping center lot. Since it was only about 7:20 in the morning parking was a breeze and upon entering numerous team members made themselves available to take and start working on my order. Though I have only been to Goldberg's a few times I have accepted the fact that I simply cannot enter this bakery and deli without a double-order of latkes... it just is not possible! Then again, the smell of fresh, hot bagels is irresistible and, as I should have predicted, I left with a small sack of everything bagels. Finally, I picked up one onion bialy simply because I was not familiar with these and am always trying to expand my edible horizons. I was not able to wait until I got home before I broke into my to-go tray of latkes and you know you really should not wait to eat these anyway because they are so much better fresh! The latkes are cakey-er than I have ever made on my own in the past and are way denser that I generally expect potato cakes to be. I am proud to say that I have graduated past my childhood affinity for fast food hashbrowns to become addicted to Goldberg's latkes, even though they do cost more than McDonald's way-too-accessible 2/$1 Dollar Menu deal. The traditional applesauce accompaniment served with the latkes is not exactly my preferred side (then again, I prefer mine plain), but the sauce is subtly sweet in a nice, natural way and if I were an applesauce fan I assume it would be right up my alley. Bagels are also a must at Goldberg's and it just did not seem right not to leave without at least one of these circular gems. My everything bagel was beautifully chewy and toothsome without requiring too much of a workout and little bits of the sides and center were still doughy and rich. Everything bagels just do it for me, even if my over-sensitive toaster doesn't agree with all of the little falling bits of goodness, and I am excited to have these around to enjoy throughout the next day or so. Lastly, the bialy. I checked out this one as soon as I got home and found it very similar to a bagel, but without a hole and with a slightly different exterior texture. Upon further research I found that bialys are made with the same dough as a bagel and are baked instead of boiled; phew, I thought something seemed familiar. The chopped onions piled onto the top of the bread added nice texture and flavor as well. In the past I have opted for the gigantic corned beef reuben sandwich that Goldberg's does so well and I cannot wait until I get back at a more lunch-worthy time for the gargantuan meat and bread creation. These guys are totally worth checking out or even going out of the way for!

So far so good! I have only tried it once, but the grilled chicken sandwich I got was yummy. The service was super friendly! And you MUST try their little chocolate chip cookie!! Best bagel in Atlanta...hands down. As a Northeasterner, I am always looking for some staples from the NY Metro. Obviously, bagels and pizza are at the top of the list. Goldberg's bagels are as close (very close) as you can get to a NY Bagel. Whether you're dining in our taking out, the staff is always friendly and very attentive. This place seriously may have the best service of ANY restaurant (all locations) in ALL of Atlanta. If you're looking to get your bagel on....rock out some pastrami....or mack on some matzo ball soup...Goldberg's is absolutely place. Nosh On!!!

Went there this morning with my fiancee around 10:30 and it was terrible. We each got coffee (2 different kinds), and both were luke-warm. We asked the guy at the counter if he could heat them up in the microwave, he just said "ok" and then proceeded to count money in the cash register. We hd to wait somewhere between 5-10 mins. Even after the coffee was hot, it still wasn't that great. We ordered bagels as well (2 different kinds, again) and both were average. Blah food and crap service. Don't waste your time here.

Great sandwiches and awesome breakfast! Their bagels and lox aren't fantastic but are good enough that I still order them on occasion. Treat this place more as a diner and a deli and not a bagel place and you will be happy with it.

I can't imagine breakfast without Goldbergs. My first experience was with their Nova special. Thick cuts of nova with a clean swipe of home made cream cheese across an everything bagel. Oy vey! Goldbergs is my weekly stop for breakfast and sometimes lunch. They have an expansive breakfast and daily lunch specials. My go to lunch item has to be either the Po Boy or the classic Rueben. Being a bit of a Rueben snob, Goldbergs ranks in my top 3. I typically get my meals to go, but the wait staff seems to have a good rapport with their customers. It's very hard to find a solid deli in the Atlanta area, but Goldbergs nails it with quality and service.

two words: Asiago bagel! Their famous asiago bagel is sooo good! I get it with chive cream cheese. They use real asiago cheeese and melt in in the middle. Mmm. Cons..the bagels are all I eat. The rest of the menu is just ok and a tad overpriced. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. This is the best place for bagels in Atlanta. It kicks Einsteins..you know what!

Service was quick. Manager brought drinks right away. Server came by often to check on us and refiled coffee manyb times and offered a to go cup. Food was excellent I had chopped liver, whitefish and salmon salad on a fresh everthing bagel. The wife had a cheese omelet, it did not have cheese all around. Order the lakers they were awesome.

Oh how I miss you, Goldberg's! I was back in ATL for the weekend and I came in to visit you not once, but twice! Can you please open a location in Scottsdale? Please? You have fantastic breakfasts - my favorite egg white omelettes in town and you don't even flinch when you get special requests such as toasting a scooped out bagel! Your soups, salads, and sandwiches are awesome. I miss your tuna fish and the attentive service and running into friends every time I go. I could go on and on. If you're looking for good deli in ATL, go to Goldberg's!

I recently visited Goldberg's for the first time, and I certainly got the full Sunday-morning experience (it was packed, but the line to get a table moved fast). I ordered the eggs with kipper and onions, a dish I'd always wanted to try. The kipper wasn't exactly what I expected (it was difficult to find edible portions of the fish), but the flavor was good. When you order this dish (for 10 bucks) you also get your choice of bagel, as well as fresh fruit or a potato pancake. The bagel (pumpernickel rye) was decent, but not as dense as real New York bagels. The service was fine, and the atmosphere was quite pleasant.

If you want excellent food in a relaxed friendly atmosphere, you want to go to Goldberg's. You'll be greeted at the door by the owner or other staff who are eager to make your visit the best. Servers are efficient and cordial. The whole staff supports each other like a well choreographed ballet to get your orders just the way you want, and to make your stay enjoyable. I go to Goldberg's often for breakfast. The coffee is outstanding, and they get my poached eggs just the way I order them (wellish). I love the turkey links and those grits. The bagels are to die for! For lunch the salmon salad is delicious. I'm a tea drinker, too, and can always get my favorite.

A jewish deli that has bacon! I love it. I've only had bagels once here. Yum. Standard delicious lox platter you'd expect from a deli. The brisket sandwich is heavenly (and enough to have three meals out of with the generous portions). The sweets are not their strong point. The savory is. If you're doing the takeout situation it's a little disorganized and checkout is always painfully slow. I will continue to go despite the crapshoot cookies and spotty service. I never go to a deli for service, I go for the food. This is a win.

  • Shannon C.

I think their sandwiches have entirely too much meat. I tried a chocolate croissant there and it turned out to be stale (although it looked absolutely delicious). I've been there 3 times, and so far I have not been impressed by the food, but for some reason I have a feeling there is something really tasty there I haven't tried. Their food just looks really good! Maybe I've had bad luck. I'm going to go back and give it another try.

Lovin' me some Goldberg's.... It's always nice when you order a sandwich and you can see them take the meat fresh out of the heater and slice it to order. Pastrami on Rye, or Corn beef on Rye are pretty much the only two things I'll get here. Not because I don't like any other item on the menu, I'm just hooked on my meat sammies.... How can you beat a juicy fatty piece of pastrami steaming off of your plate with freshly sliced rye bread folding from the hot meat. A large pickle spear and their amazing potato salad makes for a killer lunch! The staff is great, the food is wonderful and I love that it's right around the corner from me!

Christmas Eve and we're all itching to get out of the house for lunch. We call five different spots, all closed. What would be open? Um, how about Goldberg's? Duh. About eleventy billion Atlantans had the same idea for lunch, so it was crowded. We were shockingly able to nab a table for our crew of 8 without much of a wait, which was stellar. Then began the big question: to order breakfast or lunch? The soup of the day was lentil so I decided to go with a cup of that and what I figured would be a smallish sandwich: the BLT. Lord, was I wrong! When our server brought out the plate I looked at it and though there was no way it could be mine, but oh yes, it was. A double decker BLT, piled high with all three ingredients, especially the bacon. After the delicious and filling soup I was able to put away half before throwing in the towel. With sammiches this huge, this place becomes a serious deal since you can easily get two meals out of 'em. Add in the ginormous diet cokes they serve up and the friendly, bustling atmosphere and you've got a lunch spot worthy of some serious lovin'. La'chaim!

We stopped here for a late lunch and had a pleasant experience. I liked the kitschy decor and our service was good. The matzo ball soup was delicious!!! My salad was just a basic salad, but really fresh and exactly what I was looking for. I really liked how there is a restaurant area and a separate take-out area.
