Best kept secret in all of ATL. I would consider their enchiladas as a last meal request on earth. You will not find this place except for by word of mouth. I was disgusted walking in per the rec of a few skinny hipster friends because this place is in a strip mall. A STRIP MALL. But what followed was magical. My fiance and I had to pretend like we don't binge eat while with said hispter friends, but we have perfected our order in our 15+ visits back after that first night. The perfect night and order for 2 entails: -PItcher of Skinny Margharita and ice cold Modelo Especial -Trio of Queso, Guac and Salsa -Double order of Smoked Chicken Enchilada -Double order of Shrimp Enchilada (yes, the enchilada's are their specialty, imo) -One more Modelo Especial -Desert good too if in that mood Total cost $125 or something after 20% tip. And voila, you have perhaps the most fun date in ATL. The vibe is upbeat, loud and personal on the inside. It's more "fun" than "intimate", but a sophisticated yuppie and slightly older Buckhead crowd. Tough to get a reservation on Thus/Fri/Sat (which is crazy considering their outward appearance on Peachtree and lack of advertising), so call ahead. You won't be disappointed unless you're like Jared from Subway.

Tucked in the very corner of a small strip mall on the southern end of Buckhead, the "Grille", as it is known to the locals, serves up outstanding original Southwestern cuisine in a casual, unpretentious atmosphere. In this part of the Peach-city, most restaurants have enough glitter, neon and general bling to attract even a blind man. Not the Georgia Grille...with its windowless facade and simple sign. Walking in however, gives even the first-time guest a relaxed, down-home feeling of southern comfort and hospitality. Dimly lit from the warm, indirect glow of a dozen wall sconces, this place exudes a homey and welcoming feel. We loved the walls covered with large original paintings honoring Georgia O'keeffe, a celebrated American artist from New Mexico and commonly recognized as the Mother of American modernism. We started our dinner with chips and their delicious guac which was chunky yet light along with some great queso and salsa. But we came for the enchiladas...chicken, shrimp and lobster. Each served with its own unique sauce. The shrimp enchiladas came with a tasty smoked red pepper reduction with a diced tomato salsa...too good! We learned that the locals actually pass their whole plates around when sharing different enchilada types to make sure the diner can enjoy the entree's unique sauce that was paired with that individual type of enchilada...watch it, those plates are hot! The "Grille" also makes a mean margarita by the pitcher which was enjoyed by many in our group while a few of us sucked on Modelo Especials. Great find! Highly recommended. Got to throw the Grille a nickel.

It's sad that it's taken me this long to make it to Georgia Grille. Tucked in the back of a shopping center in Buckhead, it's been around for 25 years! It's a neighborhood gem that doesn't get the praise that it should. We had reservations, though at 6 on a Sunday, we didn't need them. The place did get busier as the evening went along, as more and more locals and former locals came in. I noticed several mother-son couples enjoying the nachos and enchiladas and catching up. Wanting to draw out the evening for my birthday dinner, we started with Texas margaritas, and the chile relleno, black bean soup, and flauta to share. The flauta, filled with smoked chicken and served with green chile sauce, was quite good - smoky chicken flavor, crispy fried tortilla, tangy green chile sauce, and creamy sour cream. The black bean soup had great depth of flavor. The server brought us a basket of chips to get all the green sauce that the chile relleno was served in and rightfully so. Our plates and bowls were almost completely clean. For the mains, J got the pork fajitas with fried collards and apple red chile sauce, while I chose the shrimp enchiladas. I'm not normally a fan of seafood enchiladas, but so many had raved about them that I couldn't resist. I loved that the whole dish had been charred or broiled, melting the cheese on top and crisping the flour tortilla. The fresh tomato sauce on top was just the acidity and sweetness that the dish needed to balance the plump shrimp and rich cheese. J enjoyed his fajitas, especially the sauce. The fried collard that I tried on its own didn't convert me, but J said that it was much better with all the other components wrapped into a tortilla. The server had let me peruse the copy of their cookbook "Teaching Billy to Cook." I'd seen the recipe for blackberry and peach cobbler and knew that if they were serving it, I was eating it. I was thrilled not only by the birthday candle, but also by the taste of fresh peaches and blackberries, rather than canned or pie filling. You don't see much of that in January, so it was a real treat. I loved that the dough of the cobbler wasn't too sweet, allowing the fruit itself to be the center. Definitely a winning dessert. I got one bite of J's triple chocolate mousse, which was rich and smooth - a winner if you're a chocoholic. Service was warm and inviting, as if you're in someone's house. We'll be back!

Took a few folks from out of town here - the food was great - service started off terrific and then as a few more tables filed in it became a bit slower. We asked for our bill and had to split it - and then waited for over 30 mins - apparently the machine went down and nobody knew how to use the old fashioned hand swipe machine. Well they finally got it - a quick sorry and he bolted. Figured out why the next day when I went to use my card - he jammed it in the machine and actually crimped the card - would have been nice if he had been upfront and told me.

Southern meets Mexican. It's basically the best thing ever and we recommend it to everyone who ever wants to stay in the bucket and wants to find something that's worse other meets the Mexican border

Named for Georgia O'Keefe, The Georgia Grille is our go-to standby for Saturday nights, and I hate to rave about it because it is small, convenient, and consistently good. Make a reservation in advance. Excellent margaritas, fried cheese-filled jalapeños, and southwestern-style steaks. My lovely bride loves their lobster enchilada. The chocolate mousse is divine. Karen Hilliard is still running this restaurant, hands on, for over 25 years now, and it's still going strong.

We thought the food here was really good. The drinks were also really good. I had a margarita with patron that I thought was priced pretty good at 11.50. My wife had the skinny margarita which she liked. We ordered the chicken quesadilla for an and it was delicious. Just which it had a little more cheese. I had the flat iron steak but I thought it was a little tough. My wife had the fish tacos which were really really good. I would definitely come back before dinner for drinks because the margaritas were so good and probably apps. I don't think I would stay for dinner though. The Fish tacos I believe were in the apps section of the menu. Oh I also didn't really like the size of the place. It was really small, but it is buckhead/midtown on Peachtree road so there isn't much you can do about that.

I've eaten at Georgia Grill probably half a dozen times, and the experience seems to be sliding downhill with each trip. There are some things that are consistently bad, and then there are some things that are up and down. Note - I ate there last night. Consistently bad: The Surly Greeter. He does not EVER seem happy to see people come in, not friendly at all, and sort of feels like we're inconveniencing him by asking to be seated. If you're not a people person, please don't get into the hospitality industry. Sometimes good: The servers. Last night our waiter was friendly enough, and pretty attentive. I've been in there when we saw our waiter to take our order, deliver our food, and then take care of the check, but not one second more, even when it's not terribly busy. Also sometimes good: The food. The chips, salsa, guac and cheese dip are all great. Last night I also had the fish tacos, which were "meh". Mostly slaw, though I guess I shouldn't expect much fish for the price. The hubs had the chicken enchiladas, which were okay, but not significantly better than the significantly less expensive Mexican restaurant down the street. I've had the shrimp enchiladas on an earlier visit, and didn't find them to be that great. I think a fat cheesy enchilada overpowers proteins like shrimp and lobster, and really kills the flavor of what should be the star of the dish. It's our last visit to Georgia Grill. Not worth the price, or the surliness.

Still one of my all time favorite restaurants in ATL. Lobster Enchiladas are unbelievable!! Worth every penny. Margaritas are awesome! Love this off beaten path neighborhood gem!

Georgia Grille is my favorite restaurant in ATL. Great margaritas, chips and guac and enchiladas. This is the place to be if you like southwestern fare.

I adore this hidden gem in Buckhead. It's quiet, unassuming and full of terrific surprises -- like being a New Mexico cantina tucked in a random location. It's a fun place to meet friends for dinner. And on several occasions, we have done just that. Tonight our helpful waiter explained the margarita options -- so helpful in determining your beverage - do want citrus-y, tangy, super tangy, -- you get the picture. Our routine is simple: be seated, place our drink order along with an order for chips, cheese dip, salsa and guacamole and get caught up. Then we order dinner. Sometimes, it's a family-style order and share dishes around (not so charming but very friendly) and other nights, like tonigh,t we each order a dish and inhale the goodness. The Wednesday night trout special is pan sauted with a cornmeal crust and served over white beans with chives, red peppers and other yummy bits. Very yummy and very filling. My dining partners loved their shrimp enchilada and the chicken enchilada. Even the desserts sounded fabulous - peach and blueberry cobbler with ice cream. Yum.

Georgia Grille was busy on a Thursday night, I'm happy I made a reservation ahead of time. We enjoyed a drink at the bar while our table was prepped. I loved the key lime margarita! We started out with chips and guacamole, this place really knows how to make guac, so chunky and delicious. Our table had both the shrimp & lobster enchiladas. They were both phenominal but there was a temperature issue with the shrimp enchiladas and the staff took care of it immediately. The service here was impeccable and I definitely would come back to try more of the menu.

The food is fab, the bartender is best in the hood, Owner is charming. Love the ambiance. The sad truth is that I will never go again because of the James Dean wanna at the door what an annoying human being he is!
(3)Cary W.
Had the Tuesday night fried catfish special. It sits on a Tomatillo sauce and topped with jalapeño cole slaw (not spicy). I was glad that I skipped an appetizer, so I could eat it all. Apparently one of the top choices is Smoked Chicken Enchiladas and Taco Salad, which my dining friend had and declared delicious. Date night nice, but not fussy or overbearing. Service was attentive but not intrusive. I'll be back with Hubs.

Went to Georgia Grille on a Friday night. Small menu, small venue. Mostly southwestern inspired food cuisine with a seafood sazazz. The steak was cooked perfectly. And the stuffed peppers were delish! The only downsides were the high prices, and loud clientele (it was a bit hard to talk). Worth a try!
(4)Mary L.
We had a very nice experience here. The restaurant is very pleasant, with a good bar. Skinny margaritas are delicious! We all had something different, and the food was tasty, without a long wait. Service was friendly, and checked on us a few times. There was nothing I didn't like. Quite an enjoyable evening.
(4)Bobby L.
Great margaritas. Highly recommend the lobster enchilada. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.
(5)Gaylie F.
I have lived in Atlanta for a couple of years and have been dying to go to Georgia Grille....well, it lived up to the expectation! Billy, our waiter, was one of the best waiters I have ever had. Very knowledgeable, helpful, and kind. The skinny margarita was delicious. The lobster enchiladas were everything I expected and more! Can't wait to come back and try other options!
(5)Charlie V.
Excellent service! Great, attentive waiter! Margaritas were awesome to say the least; the alcohol to flavor ratio was spot on! I could not have had a better time. If you are looking for that busy, rustic- feeling, easy going, hideaway, this is the place for you!
(5)M V.
I was so excited about trying this place after my coworker suggested it but hate to say that it definitely did not live up to my expectations. I was told that I MUST order the lobster enchilada. I was definitely surprised to see the $28 price tag....especially since it did not come with anything else but the enchilada...(no sides at all..just one lonely $28 enchilada on the plate). The lobster was very fishy and chewy. Total disappointment. I picked out all of the lobster and just ate the tortilla and tortilla strips that came on top of the dish. My friends ordered the smoked chicken enchiladas and flat iron steak. Both tasted far better than my enchilada...but we all agreed that the food is extremely overpriced for the quality of food provided. I expressed to my server (who was also the bartender) that I was not happy with my choice and that the lobster was not only really fishy but also very tough, and the only comment he had was, "Yeah..I really like the chicken enchiladas better." Going to skip venturing into Buckhead for dinner and stick with the restaurants in Decatur. Service was OK ..friendly but definitely feel more attention should have been made after expressing my dissatisfaction with my entree. Total disappointment and annoyed that I spent $50 on lack luster margaritas, $14 chips and salsa and a $28 enchilada.
(2)Drew H.
This is a great spot because there are a variety of excellent dishes. The margaritas are strong and not too sweet. It is one of the few go to restaurants where there are more than three dishes I will order depending on the night. My favorites are the crusted chicken breast, pork tacos, and the lobster enchiladas.
(5)Charles S.
We ate at Georgia Grille only after having been turned away at the trendy Holeman & Finch across the street. Sometimes what looks like a disappointment turns out to be a great stroke of luck. This is Georgia as in "Georgia O'Keeffe," not as in "state of ..." The food is a essentially upscale Southwest cuisine. SW, not Tex-Mex. But you have to imagine that Georgia O'Keeffe's Taos was on the ocean because so many of the dishes are seafood. My brother had the signature dish: lobster enchiladas. He scarfed down every last bite and agreed to give me a taste only under pressure. The cowboy shrimp (cowboy shrimp?) were plentiful and terrific. I think of Georgia O'Keefe as dour and ascetic. Don't let that put you off. Georgia Grille was lively and fun. Give it a try.

Initially, the service was great but as the night progressed, it worsened. We placed our order at 8pm and at 9:15pm, the food hadn't arrived. We asked the waiter about it and he said that the kitchen lost our dinner ticket. He never apologized. He had to take our order again. The food came out 20 minutes later. We were starving and upset. Still the waiter didn't apologize and acted like nothing happened. I would not suggest this place for vegetarians, very limited options. The manager took two entrees off of our bill but never stopped by to say sorry. Overall, bad experience.

The Georgia Grille is one of my favorite restaurants in Atlanta. My family has been coming here ever since we first discovered them at a "Taste of Atlanta" event back in the 90's. Although located in the back corner of a strip center on Peachtree Rd., the vibe here is very cool. Southwestern decor featuring artwork done by famous local artist Steve Penley. They have a full bar with great margarita's. I usually start with either the black bean soup or a Cesar salad. They are both outstanding. For my main course, I ALWAYS go with the lobster enchilada. For desert, I don't remember the exact name but we refer to it as the triple chocolate. It is very similar to a cold chocolate mousse. It's amazing!! Almost forgot......great Guacamole!
(4)Nicole W.
This is a perfect example of "Hole-in-the-wall" I promise this place is amazing! from the guacamole and chips to the ever so satisfying eye opening margaritas. It is inspired by Georgia O'Keeffe and has a lot of wonderful Indian american art work. It is a great place for a romantic dinner. I had the chips with guac and the chile relleno for dinner. It was perfectly portioned! The chile was not spicy at all!! it was filled with a creamy mix of cheeses and then deep fried.... I about passed out when I took the first bite. I closed my eyes and tried to picture what chile relleno heaven looked liked. I came back to reality to see it was perfection on a plate. From the soft gooey cheese to the mild perfectly coked chile, the corn salsa was crazy good and I don't even want to talk about the sauce.... OK i will! the sauce... oh the sauce....I wanted it on my nachos, in my margarita, on my face. It was heavens way of saying thank you for choosing this hole in the wall.

This was a great meal. The service was friendly and efficient. We started with the the key lime Margaritas, and they were as good as advertised. When we wanted something light to start with, our waiter chips with guacamole and salsa. the guac was a little too chunky, but i found the salsa amazing. I ordered the portobello quesadilla, and it was light and fresh and very different. The lobster quesadilla was as good as others had said. but The most memorable part of the visit was when our waiter followed us to our car to hand us the purse we left behind. A great find. Especially as they did not care when we entered 45 minutes before they closed.
(4)Jay M.
I think that they are resting on reputation from years ago. Maybe after reading all these great reviews, I'd have to become a regular to get the great service and food that they talk of...but that's not going to happen. We had a party of 7 and wanted to split the bill 3 ways. Was told no, that's not allowed. Really? My sister insisted and her's was split off..but not the rest of us. I can understand for large parties...but 6 folks and 3 tabs? Couldn't do it. My order came as an ungriddled quesadilla swimming in garlicky sauce that totally over powered the salmon. Who does such strong garlic & salmon?? It turned to goo halfway through since the tortilla was raw and I stopped eating it. If menu stated uncooked quesadilla I would have known not to order it. Sister's lobster enchilada was cold and my wife's bean soup was a bean dip. The other half of our table did not have any complaints, but nothing was spectacular either. Nothing fun about servers; ours looked like an unwashed mountain man, sorry but he did. I can't stand it when a waiter reaches over me to get to someone else's dish or glass...can you please go around me? At the end of the meal he took away partially eaten plates without even a question or comment, so I guess they're used to it. Don't think the staff wanted to be here any more than it turned out I did; frowns all around. Loud space with no dampening at all. Could not hold a conversation across the table. Final grief was that no where on the menu did it stated that they would put a 20% tip on the bill for a table of 6..after taxes are applied! Come on...get real with the service and don't blame "our old computer system" for a handwritten 20% tip on my bill. But if I was as bad as he was...I'd probably have to write my own tip in also. Oh and mandatory 20% tip on a party of 6!!! Really? Service needs to be a heck of a lot better to get that kind of tip. I guess I got there on a bad night, but it was my last time regardless. Others seemed to fare better than we received that night. But do you really have to become a regular at a place to be acknowledged by manager, get good service and decent food? Shouldn't. ________________________ Sorry to add more to an already long review but necessary in response to Karen. Sorry, Madam but you are wrong and I am being honest. You're damn right we only tipped 10%...your restaurant, food & service was barely worth it. We made your staff take it off and tipped what was barely deserved. I've had some interesting times at many spots here in this great city...but nothing about your facility is worth the money you charge. YOU are "selective" in who you meet and greet...because of the O'Keeffe connection in your facility and my Mom is such a great fan of that artist too...she pointed you out to us as the owner. You never bothered to stop by and see this large table in the middle of your facility, only made extended visits to your safe regulars. Your waiters don't have the training needed to justify the tab and ours table manners are atrocious for the service he was supposed to provide. Not just in service but in overall attitude. Given how you have the guts to call me dishonest...why don't you be honest with yourself and use some secret diners at your facility after some time of not correcting issues? You might find out the issues mentioned but I doubt you will as you seem to only have blinders on and fail to see your facility as a customer...but only as an established fixture. As I stated and the end of my review...I guess I got there on a bad night. But you've ticked me off with your honesty issue. I will renew my efforts in downplaying your facility to everyone I know.

Excellent meal - great chicken enchiladas and shrimp enchiladas - Beth went above and beyond to ensure that we had a great experience - will definitely go back often !!

I went here with my grandparents when they were helping me move into my apartment. At first, it was kind of hard for us to find, but when we did and we walked in I really liked the vibe. It wasn't that big, but it had a really nice ambiance and everyone dining seemed like they were having a great time. I also liked that the walls were filled with vintage-y looking pictures and signs. I'm big on customer service and the way I'm treated goes a long way. A lot of the employees were running around looking pretty busy, but still we had 2 or 3 waiters besides our own that would come by to check on us and make sure that we had refills, enjoyed our food, etc. I also noticed that many of the patrons were greated with hugs and high fives, which I'm assuming means that they're regulars which is always nice to see. Moving onto the food; there weren't many items to choose from, but it seemed as though the food that they do serve is always made to perfection. I ordered the Salmon & Black Bean quesadilla which was AMAZING! I absolutely loved it and it filled me up completely. It seemed like a pretty unique dish; I'm used to chicken, steak, and cheese quesadillas but salmon was a nice twist. It included avocado/onion slices and American cheese - a ton of it, which was great for me because I love cheese!! My gram ordered the fried chicken salad, which she said was delicious, and I hope to try the next time I go there. I wish I could remember what my Grandpa got, but I was too busy enjoying my food! :) All in all, it was a really nice visit. I might add that right before I left, one of the waiters stopped and asked if we were visiting out of town because he hadn't seen us before. When I told him that I'd just finished moving in, he asked me about the school I'm attending and gave me a few suggestions for places hiring when I mentioned that I was looking for a job. I always appreciate anyone that goes the extra mile to be friendly, so that was definitely a plus!
(4)Matt D.
It's always a little scary ordering lobster in a land locked city after having lived in Maine, but I would come back to Atlanta just to get the lobster enchiladas here, absolutely amazing. A gem of a find in a sea of overpriced chains.
(5)J C.
This is a great restaurant. Food is delicious and unique. Margaritas are great. Guac and Corn chicken chowder wow!!!
(5)Leanne E.
If you blink, you may miss this joint. You can see the sign from the road, but the red entrance door is on the end. So, pay attention. This is such a quaint joint with attentive wait staff. We ordered the Chile Relleno, which was so good, and not spicy at all, so don't be afraid. While my sweetie ordered the Lobster Enchilada, I indulged in the Shrimp and Grits and honestly, the first words out of my mouth were Holy S-*-! The grits were some sort of treat from heaven above and it's very possible, I had an intense love affair this evening. The portions are hearty, so there was no room for dessert, but I will be back, so perhaps then!
(5)Terry M.
A restaurant in a run down strip mall??? Looks like a bad idea. Sounds like a worse idea. Get it out of your head. This place is GOOD. It's not Mexican. It's not Tex/Mex. It's not Latin. It's not Cuban. Upscale Southwest food....maybe. Georgia Grille is just good. The margaritas are dangerous...smooth are potent. Poblano Mac n Cheese!! Lobster Enchiladas!!!
(4)Elizabeth H.
Georgia Grille is a mix between tex mex and southern food ~ which I think is the perfect combination! To start we had silver margaritas along with chips & salsa and queso! The queso had chunks of peppers and jalapenos, very good and not too spicy. The margs were terrific, not too much mix ~ I'm the type of person that wants to actually taste the tequila! For dinner the boyfriend had pork chop fajitas served with collard greens, corn relish and apple salsa. A great mix of southern meets tex mex!! I had the chicken enchiladas and taco salad for dinner. The enchiladas were super creamy with the right amount of chicken to cheese ratio! The salad was a little odd - it tasted like iceberg lettuce and mayo. Strange! I highly recommend making a reservation - on a Wednesday night the place was packed! The restaurant probably has a total of 20 tables and a very small bar. As we were leaving the restaurant, our terrific server Ashley turned to me and said "You look like Chelsea Lately"!! It's funny, I get that all the time from strangers!
(4)Dan K.
Margaritas are yummy- chips, guac and salsa are very good - the heralded lobster enchilada was not good- and the cab wine was not very good - mushroom quesadilla was pathetic with two rolled up tortillas with nothing in them- over rated joint here
(3)Jean-Marc P.
My wife and had not been to this restaurant in ten years so we weren't really sure what to expect. What a great surprise to find that not only is it still good - it's really, really good - perhaps even *better* than it was all those years ago. It was great to see Chef Hilliard still in her Chef whites and working the line - the Georgia O'Keefe vibe still intact and it was an even bigger surprise to see Billy Kennedy on the floor. The food and service were excellent and we look forward to many more tasty meals at this Atlanta gem.
(5)Arika S.
Absolutely a hole in the wall spot, but such a great find! I would not have tried this place if it weren't recommended to me by a friend. The lobster enchilada is amazing, and the margaritas are delicious. I recommend the key lime margarita. I also tried the salsa trio app which was really good - particularly the jalapeno salsa. 100% recommend trying this place.
(5)Mike E.
A couple of my co-workers took me here for dinner during a recent business trip. This place isn't easy to find; it's tucked in the corner of a strip mall on Peachtree Road on the south end of Buckhead. It was a good thing that I wasn't driving, because I probably would have missed it the first time even with a GPS. The interior is pretty small, but it doesn't feel cramped. The menu can best be described as South-by-Southwest (or even Southwest-by-South) - definitely cooking with a Southwest touch, in honor of the restaurant's namesake Georgia O'Keeffe, but with a taste of the South's classics as well. Take the shrimp and grits. It can be really hard to get flavor into this dish, but Georgia Grille manages extremely well - Jalapeno cheese grits, Southwestern spiced shrimp, and an almost kimchi-like slaw serving as the bed for the dish. It was, in a word, outstanding. The queso sauce and guacamole served with the chips and salsa at the beginning of the meal were also outstanding. Probably could have made a meal out of that. Next time I WILL get the lobster enchilada!!
(5)Lindsay H.
Good service and great margaritas! The lobster enchilada and pork fajitas are both are delish!
(5)Sheena J.
LOVED the lobster enchiladas and margaritas! I'll definitely be back :)
(5)Eric C.
I went here with a party of 6. We were sat in short order, but it took a few minutes before an employee came to our table. Without a greeting of any type, our server started pouring waters, then walked away without a peep. As we were watching the staff, we observed that every one of them had a look on their faces as if they all just got into an argument and not one of them wanted to be there. The service got worse from that point. When we got the attention of the person that was our server, he had an attitude as if it was an inconvenience that we were there, and "what are we doing coming in for dinner and interrupting his time at work". He took our order, but heavens forbid we ask about the days specials. When our order came out, it looked good, but looks are deceiving. My sisters overpriced lobster enchilada was cold, as were the beans on my dish. Throughout the service, rather than walking an extra foot to refill drinks, set and remove plates, they would reach over, putting their disgusting armpits in our faces. When we received the bill, they had the nerve to tack on a 20% tip. The kicker is that our server hand wrote the tip, doing the math on the receipt, he based it on the taxed total, which is not how you are supposed to add a tip. The tip is based on the pre-tax total. When I inquired about this procedure, he stated that their computer is old and it automatically does this, at which time I pointed out that he did it by hand, showing his handy work, so I am not sure which computer he was talking about. We adjusted the tip to reflect the poor level of service we received. Not one of us, in our group, said it was worth ever going back. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Food- So so Service- Poor Value- Poor

I mean is this place a huge secret among Atlanta natives? I loved it. It's tucked away in a strip mall in the shadows of Holeman & Finch, Restaurant Eugene, and Willy's/Panera Bread. Haha. The margaritas were amazing. They were pricey, but definitely not just made with a mix. I think it was 33.00 for a carafe. Had the smoked chicken flautas. Really good. Not a massive dish, but a perfect starter. I think it was 6.95. Just going off on a limb picked the Lobster Enchilada. I had no idea it was their signature dish. So good. I definitely would go back to get this. The sauce around was so hot and good. We ended up eating it with our spoon. The mousse for dessert just topped off the meal. I don't think I've ever had a mousse like it before. It wasn't as soft as a normal one. Yummmmmmm! Service was fantastic. I"m not sure if we ended up being waited on by a waiter or the host. He made excellent suggestions and was very patient. We really liked the interior also. Candles on every table. There was a rustic look throughout the place. Very romantic in some aspects. Lighting was perfect also. Parking is free in the strip mall. I get it if some of you think it is overpriced. It's definitely not a cheap El Azteca. Really... if you want to keep the price down just split an entree and a starter.

Rib Eye was fantastic! As good as I have ever had. Our waiter was very friendly and knowledgable. I will make a point to go again.

As an out of town guest in Atlanta, I allowed my wife, a former Atlanta resident, to pick a dinner spot one evening. We had dined at the Georgia Grille many years ago while in town shopping, and I was excited she picked this delicious spot again. I am not a regular, and there is nothing about me warranting good service. We arrived a little after 7 on a weeknight and the place was half full. The waiter promptly came over, took a drink order, and within minutes, I was enjoying a delicious margarita and deciding which way to go for my meal. The restaurant filled up within 30 minutes, but the service did not waiver. It was obvious we were not locals, and I don't think that changed the way the waiter took care of us. He wasn't over the top, and he didn't vanish. My wife's order took seconds, as she had been craving the Caesar salad and lobster enchilada for some time. She cleaned both plates, minus one bite of the lobster enchilada for me. The lobster enchilada was too rich for me with its size, and if I was a regular, I'd ask for a smaller portion for $18, instead of $28 for the full size. Since I'm not a regular, this is a non-issue. As for my order, a salad with buttermilk-bacon dressing caught my eye. Anyone who is a fan of bacon and buttermilk will adore this salad. The greens are lightly coated in oil, and adding the thick, creamy dressing to the greens is a heavenly combination. I would eat this salad daily if I could. For my "dinner," after devouring some chips and what had to be freshly made guacamole to start, I had the fish taco and the black bean soup. An interesting combination for a meal to say the least, and way too much food for me to consume, but I love black bean soup, and I love fish tacos. Both were solid. I'm not sure why this place would be excluded from anyone's list, unless you're in the mood for a big hunk of steak or a trendy hangout. I think Georgia Grille was a delicious choice for our meal. The decor is fun, yet "ordinary" for restaurant tastes, and there's just something nice about pulling into a strip center and getting a good meal. Highly recommended.

This place was awesome! It was our first time and its one of the best restaurants I have been to. Fish Tacos were the best I have ever had! Chips and salsa are a must have. Might want to make reservations though.

I just had a perfect meal here! This is a quaint little southwestern-type place. I had the shrimp and grits, which were absolutely divine. They were served with julienned veggies, with a balsamic-y type of sauce, and they simply melted in my mouth. Shrimp enchiladas and chile relleno with a creamy poblano sauce were both equally delectable. The service is also attentive and friendly. If you don't have a reservation, be prepared to wait a good while, but the food is so worth it. I'm already planning my next visit.

This place never disappoints. Love the nachos. Crawfish Tostadas special is very good. And, of course, the Lobster Enchiladas.

Shine and Booty rock the house! It'd been awhile since I'd paid a visit to Georgia Grille, but tonight I returned. And my two favorite gents were on their game, as always. Bartender Booty and best server Shine were spot on, as was the food and the always great atmosphere at this longtime local fave. I went with two good friends and we had a laid-back and yummy meal. I had a tasty margarita and a good glass of chardonnay, other drink orders were a well-made vodka tonic and pinot by the glass. Tonight's meal picks . . . the very generous fish tacos - just slightly spicy slaw and dressing finished it off just right . . . the chicken quesadilla - interestingly with the grilled chicken outside the three-cheese quesadillas . . . and the lobster enchillada. All to share. Pleeeennty of food for three! Mr. Big even got a few bits of grilled chicken and a little bit of fish from an extra half taco for his dinner once I got home! All of tonight's "diners" were most pleased!

Found this place on yelp and tried it because of the great reviews. They were spot on, the place is awesome. So good that we ordered one thing at a time so we could try more: Margaritas are awesome and actually have tequila in them. The salsa was the best I've ever had. Guac was good also. The texas black bean soup was good but the real treat was the gumbo they had as a special, again, best I've ever had. Smoked chicken enchiladas were awesome and had this really good sauce on them. At that point we were full but since we don't leave here and won't be back for a while, we went ahead and ordered the strip steak, unbelievable! Very reasonably priced, you won't be disappointed.

One of my time favorite places in ATL. No Valet Parking. Intimate. The owner is always there, walking around, smiling, chatting with guests, the host with the cool slick hair-do is always super friendly. The guacamole is awesome. Margaritas will knock your socks off -- word to the wise, 2 drinks is probably where you want to draw the line. I order the shrimp enchiladas every.single.time. They're the best in the city. That cream sauce makes my mouth water just thinking about it!! Big fan.

Yep, this place is still awesome. I'm not sure if it's because I've gone during the week or just been lucky, but the service I've received here has never been anything but the best. And no, I'm not a regular or even recognized, and I've had different servers the two times I've been in. Tonight it was the owner's son and he was perfection. A genuinely nice and smart guy, the kind you want to invite to pull up a chair and dine with you. I arrived heinously late and my family had already plowed through some chips and a dip trio, so he brought out some extra to me since I missed out. He knew the menu inside and out, and oh, is it a good menu. I ordered exactly the same thing this time around (black bean soup and a shrimp enchilada) and it was as good as I had remembered. Even my sister who lives in Houston was impressed. Again, it may be due to the weeknight, but this place was pretty empty. Not awkwardly so this time around, but enough that I really want to make it a point to return to keep this fantastic spot around for as long as I can. They deserve the support.

this is the best little place in town that you've never been to and your friends have never heard of. it's southwestern / tex-mex with a southern flare. i had delicious margaritas, organic field greens salad (with a light vinaigrette), and the best damn shrimp & grits i've ever had. the shrimp is nicely seasoned and cooked perfectly. the grits are creamy and it's all topped with some julienne mixed squash and a drizzle of balsamic reduction that i just about licked from the plate. i'll be headed back to Georgia Grille just to taste all the other treasures on the menu!

Suggested by my boyfriend, we decided to have our "Christmas Dinner" at Georgia Grille before he flew out this morning. As an event planner and a bit of a food snob, I didn't know how to feel about a "nice" dinner in a shopping center. Little did I know, this small, charming restaurant would knock my socks off. Packed out on a Thursday night (and two days before Christmas) we made our reservations for 8pm, but arrived early to have a margarita -- on the rocks, no salt -- (or two) at the bar. Hands down, the service and staff are amazing. Never allowing our glasses to go empty, our bartender was indeed in the Christmas spirit, answering all of our questions and making sure we were comfortable and satisfied. Shortly after running into friends who raved about the restaurant, we were seated at a table for two and indulged in the flank steak and lobster enchilada after inhaling cheese stuffed jalapenos as an appetizer. After a couple more glasses of wine, we ordered the chocolate mousse dessert to top off the night. Best decision. Losing track of time, we slowly realized we were the last to leave the restaurant, but our server never rushed us or made us feel unwelcome. As we were getting ready to leave, the bartender sweetly came around and helped me with my jacket. Now if that isn't service, I don't know what is. Will definitely come back again. The atmosphere Georgia Grille provides lends itself to an intimate and warm setting, great for dinner among friends and loved ones.

I have been searching forever to find quality Mexican in Atlanta. Sure, I know the usual suspects, but after living in Cali, you realize Mexican can be so much better than whats offered here in Atlanta. In fact, it makes you wonder how can an experience be so much different depending on the coast that you are on. Although it was a tad bit pricey for Mexican, I was really impressed with GA GRille. The experience is very intimate. They have a small dining room that is partitioned to seperate it from the bar and the bar seating area. I got a few appetizers ranging from Quesadilas to Chips/Salsa Everything was pretty fantastic. Although I didnt dig into an entree, I was very satisfied with the service and the experience. The margaritas are nice and strong too!
(4)Katie D.
The food and service is consistently excellent!! It's a neighborhood hidden jewel. The lobster enchiladas are to die for. Can't go wrong with any of the margaritas! Try the key lime one!

We have eaten here twice and the experience was eerily the same both times. I have got to say that I was surprised by the number of favorable reviews by yelpers of high veracity. Oh well. Here is my take. The theme of this place is smart and engaging. And it is a cool looking place inside. Both times, we had the lobster enchiladas. And they are awesome creamy goodness- really, these are good! Both times, we arrived around 7ish with reservations on a Saturday night. Both times, we were seated in the area that looks like an enclosed porch. Both times we had the same server and both times he was terrible. We got menus and water fairly quickly. He took our drink and dinner orders and from that point on, we could have been on the dark side of the moon. We got the impression that this place is frequented by a regular clientele who the server knows and caters to. OK so we didn't know the secret handshake. But it is quite irritating to be sitting with an empty drink glass while Gomer works the crowd with his "aww shucks" routine- frittering from table to table to kiss up to whoever and completely ignoring our attempts to flag him down. Seriously we could not get the guy back to our table to order drinks. However, he did perk up when we asked for a check. No foolin- both times -one round of drinks! Jeeeizus!!!! Dissed by Gomer. Imagine our hurt! Good natured, we decided it was a bad night- the first time- and still left a decent tip. The second time, not so much. Those enchiladas are really good but they are not that damned good. Anyhow Annie got the recipe from the AJC. Have a nice life Gomer!

Fantastico!!! Was really excited to try this place again after going here last year and not ordering the best thing on the menu. The Dan's Margaritas are amazing -- best margarita I've had in a long time; can't remember a better one-- lots of flavor but just the right amount of tartness too. To start we had the sampler with guac, queso, and salsa. All were great although I could have gotten a whole order of the guac and queso. We also had the chile relleno which was delish as well! Then got the Lobster Enchilada as my entree which was increible! It was a little on the spicy side but totally worth it! Can't wait to go here again so I can try some different options on the menu.
(5)Jake W.
I liked this place more than the rest of the group I came with. Most people got more traditional enchiladas and such, while I got the shrimp and grits. The grits were really creamy and just a tady spicy and the shrimp were good and there were a lot of them. Their salsa is good, too. I liked the queso dip, which no one else seemed to like, but I thought it was good.

Good food, prices and service. We took our two year old son and the server lit the candle for him 15 times so he could blow it out. My son's quesadilla came out late, so they took it off the bill. I would call it more of an adult hang-out/date spot, but it is definitely kid-friendly. A very comfy feel. The lobster enchilada was tasty.
(4)Allison F.
FANTASTIC! Tucked away in the corner of a strip mall, you wouldn't believe how sophisticated (and popular!) this place really is. Authentic decor, friendly staff, superb southwestern cuisine. A few highlights: lobster enchiladas, filet of beef with mixed greens, and salmon quesadillas. Everything is so good, you'll have to return to this hidden treasure again and again to sample it all. Did I mention the staff? Oh yes, but I have to reiterate how incredibly warm, friendly, and attentive they are. I don't think I've ever been to a "nicer" restaurant. Thank you Georgia Grille! I'll be back soon!

So last night, the boyfriend and I wanted to try someplace new. He did a shake of the Urbanspoon app and Georgia Grille pops up. I was excited to go because I'd read great reviews of GG and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Southwestern food. So, we got there just before 8p - no reservation. We were seated immediately. The ambiance is really nice. It's dimly lit, relaxed and quite comfy. I almost felt as if I was in someone's home because of the warm decor. Our server came over and helped us with menus and upon prompting went through the specials for the evening. Despite the server's raving review of the lobster enchilada, I ordered the Cowboy Shrimp special and my boyfriend ordered a Caesar salad and the pork tenderloin fajitas. It took 45 minutes for our entrees to arrive. This was not cool. We had to track down the server to ask what the deal was and instead of an apology, he just goes, oh yours is up next. OK...but why is it taking so long??! Anyway... the Cowboy Shrimp special wasn't bad. The flavors in the white bean and bacon salad were pretty good. The spinach was not very well seasoned and the whole wheat tortilla that it was served upon... was super soggy and tasteless. The shrimp was well cooked but smothered in cheese. And because they didn't remove the tails, it was tough to eat. His pork tenderloin fajita plate was not very appealing to the eye and the fried collard greens could possibly be one of the worst things I've ever tasted - and I'm a Southern girl...I love collard greens! The fried collard greens were just bitter and tasted burnt. Ugh...bad memory there. Once he got past the greens, the tenderloin was not so bad. I really wanted to like this place especially with all of the great reviews here on Yelp. But... not this time around. Because so many of you had great experiences, I am willing to give it another shot but no time soon.

Tucked away like a secret. Its like walking into a big family meal. Very homey and warm atmosphere. We are a bi racial couple and by the looks thought oh boy what did i just walk in to but that was changed immediately. Staff was wonderfu, helped recommed dishes and very sweet. Food was delish. Prices were good too. A must stop while in atl. Loved it.
(4)Scott R.
I don't have much to add, because the other reviews give you a very good sense of the food and quality. If I have one negative, it is that it can be a little expensive for what you get. I live about a mile away, so it is a good place to go for a nice meal.

Last night Nancy and I had dinner at the Georgia Grill georgiagrille.com It's right across the street from our place in town. So we could walk to dinner and back. We started off with Awesome margaritas, then I had some chicken corn chowder that was just filled with good stuff and tasted creamy and amazing. Nancy had a caesar salad. Then came our main dishes, Nancy had lobster enchiladas in a creamy sweet pepper sauce and I had a flat iron steak cooked to perfection and melted in my mouth. On the side, i had mac and cheese in a sweet bell pepper and fresh greens in a light vinaigrette dressing. This place has been around for 22 years we were told by the owner. I hope it stays around for another 22 years because it was a fabulous culinary treat. If you're spending time in Atlanta and are looking for a unique twist onTex/Mex/American fusion food. Give the Georgia Grill a try. Word of warning, you may want to take a cab as the margaritas are very addictive and you don't want to drive if you've had more than one...

Whenever I dine here I tend to stick to the appetizers, margaritas, and dessert. The first time I dined here, I arrived too early for dinner and had to wait. The host asked if I had a reservation. I did not, but it was not a problem since they had just opened. I had the quesadilla, chicken tortilla soup, a margarita, and for dessert blackberry and peach cobbler. Everything was very good. On my last visit I arrived on a Friday night around 9 and had to sit at the crowded bar area. By 10pm, people were yelling behind me trying to get their drink orders to the bartender. The owner was there and she was serving tables. There was a lot of people dining there that night. The restaurant is very small and fills up fast. It's a good place to go if you want a tasty margarita.

This place was so cute! I love "secret" places like this, so appreciated the location being in the back of a strip mall, with no real sign-- a local friend took us for a friend's birthday, and it was definitely surprising to pull up to a random location and walk into a nice upscale place! I would have never known about this restaurant otherwise. Unfortunately, I hated our table. We sat a straight shot from the door, and it was a cold fall night, and people kept opening the door and keeping it open. Our server was AWFUL. I have no idea what else he was doing besides serving us, but he would disappear for extended, noticeably long periods of time. It was actually really irritating, especially considering we had a reservation, so they should have been expecting us, and of course it was for a birthday, so we were really looking forward to a relaxed night of great food and good service. Good thing was-- the bad service was not bad enough to overshadow the goodness of the food! Everything was delicious. Overall, it ended up being pretty pricey, but I think I would go back again! MAKE A RESERVATION. It would be an extremely bad idea to come without one, this restaurant is tiny and it was packed.

This is our neighborhood go to restaurant for any occasion from a lazy Friday night to birthdays. Consistently excellent everything they do is quality, we have never been disappointed. Best margaritas in town. Just like Cheers, where everybody knows your name. An Atlanta jewel.
(5)Mary Kate S.
Best spot seems only locals know. Family owned. Incredible food, service, & drinks!!!! One of my fave places in ATL
(5)Sarah M.
This place never fails to impress. The food is Tex-Mex, but fancy Tex-Mex. With drinks, prepare to spend some cash. My BF and I got a pitcher of margaritas, the dip sampler, and two entrees, and the bill was around $85, I think. But it's worth it! The lobster enchiladas are to die for. Believe me, they're worth the high price tag. This place is kind of in the back corner of a strip mall (right by Peachtree Battle). I've never seen this place ridiculously packed, and it may be because of its location. But I see that as a good thing! That means no waiting for me! The guacamole is heavenly -- get it. Margaritas are top notch too. And the service has always been stellar.
(5)Jenny R.
This place is way over-rated. An overall restaurant experience includes food, service, and the ambiance. At this restaurant, the seating is cramped, the air-conditioning is underwhelming, and the noise level is very, very loud once the space fills up. The bathroom is across the hall (no air conditioning) and gross. The service is fairly quick, once the orders have been placed. The food is good, but not great, and sometimes not accurately described on the menu. Shoestring fries with chipotle ketchup turned out to be regular fries with regular ketchup....The main courses were good, but some of them were quite greasy or heavy.
(2)ML V.
Fantastic place, can't wait to go back. We had two different margaritas - the Dan (similar to Skinny Margarita) and the fresh key lime. Both were delicious. Wonderful waiter was personable and knowledgeable about the menu. Had the shrimp and black bean pancake for an appetizer, sounds odd but tasted sooooo good. My entree was a special that night - halibut lightly dusted with flour and sauteed, served over mashed potatoes and an exquisite sauce, with mango-onion relish on top. My husband got the shrimp enchiladas and raved about them all night. Menu is upscale southwestern with some southern touches like catfish and shrimp & grits. Ambiance is cool casual, music loud enough to just notice it, not so loud that it's obnoxious. All in all, a perfect restaurant - amazing food, great drinks, and warm service.
(5)Carolyn B.
I am really surprised that this place received a 4 star average. It's located in South Buckhead next to Panera on Peachtree. I went a couple months ago and it was OK at best, and not cheap. I am much more forgiving if a restaurant is just so-so and the price reflects that mediocrity. The service was good and I appreciate that unlike pretty much every other restaurant in Atlanta, they have self parking. In their defense, I dined with a group of 12 so maybe it's hard to pump out that much tasty food at once. The margaritas and the company were the best part.
(2)Laura Z.
When down in Atlanta for business, I decided to come to this restaurant for a business dinner after the fantastic reviews here on Yelp. I was not disappointed at all! While the manager was a little off at first and thought we were weird for finding his place online (he does not use the internet), he quickly warmed up to us and directed us on what to order - and he gave us the best recommendations. Lobster enchiladas, fish tacos, shrimp and black bean cakes, may have all been some of the best items to have ever entered my mouth. While I definitely overate and left feeling like I had gained 800 pounds, it was totally worth it.

The Georgia Grille is located in Atlanta, Georgia on Peachtree Road on the south side of Buckhead near Piedmont Hospital. This Southwest Mexican restaurant is to die for. The Georgia Grille intermingles the flavors of the Southwest with the hospitality of the South. For over 20 years, Karen Hilliard and her staff have been serving her unique interpretation of Southwestern fare in a casual, kicked-back style. From the aroma of her famous Lobster Enchiladas which a Maine Lobster (8 OZ) in a smoked sweet red bell pepper reduction with fresh diced tomato salsa and is my personal favorite dish, to the old wormwood bar where top shelf margaritas and a thoughtful wine selection are poured, to the signature Coca Cola cooler, you know exactly where you are when you step into the Georgia Grille, and you can't help but smile. The Flat Iron Steak is also very good and is a "natural angus beef steak" pan-seared and served over smoked red pepper jus with Southwestern macaroni and cheese filled roasted poblano pepper.
(5)F H.
I had no idea this was a southwestern restaurant, but ended up being pleasantly surprised. The margaritas were a little too sweet; next time I'll get a different blend. The enchiladas are very popular here and came highly recommended, and for good reason! The lobster enchiladas were amazing and the chicken enchiladas were almost as good. The entrees are pretty over-priced, so we probably won't go back.
(2)Rebecca O.
The one (small) drawback to Georgia Grille is its popularity, which regularly defeats its undersized and intimate, yet social seating area. Planning ahead and securing a reservation pays off when you're sipping (or gulping) an authentic margarita from the bar as the always-personable host(ess) escorts you to your table. Once seated, a charismatic server rushes tableside to welcome you back -- even though your last visit was months ago -- and to inquire about topping off that margarita. Georgia Grille offers outstanding Southwest-inspired food from just-as-outstanding people. Terrific art on the walls is colorful and vibrant ... quite the perfect compliment to the delicious food and drinks. My personal favorite and always satiating selections: shrimp & grits accompanied by a margarita on the rocks with salt. See you there!
(4)Dan C.
I had no idea I would have to travel to Atlanta to find great Tex-Mex. The only way I found this place was because a good trusted source recommended it highly...and it did not disappoint. The food was fabulous. I had the lobster enchilada which was amazing but the highlight of the night was the carafe of "Dan's" margaritas and the jalapeno salsa with chips. Wow. I could have just had those two things all night and been happy. The enchilada was the icing on the cake. This place is truly a hidden gem.
(4)Lindsey M.
I love this place! Not sure if the daily specials are still the same but I went on a Tuesday not too long ago and my husband had the fried catfish- I am still talking about it. IT WAS DELICIOUS! I always love the more Mexican influenced dishes but the catfish (which I don't even like usually) will beat out my normal order! Yum
(5)Rebekah A.
Great neighborhood restaurant. If you're not looking for it, you will probably never find it, even though it is on Peachtree Road. The restaurant is small so to be sure that you get seated right away, definitely make a reservation. The food is southwestern with an emphasis on mexican cuisine and seafood specialties. I love the shrimp and cheese grits. They also have a great selection of wines. Just watch out... with drinks, an appetizer, entrees, and maybe a dessert... you'll be spending a pretty penny... but worth it every once in a while in my opinion!
(5)Andrea R.
Lobster enchiladas are a classic.
(4)Lori F.
Georgia Grille is basically a tex-mex cantina, with a few southern surprises thrown in. The margaritas were yummy, but the apps and entrees we sampled weren't anything out of the ordinary. Service is extremely pleasant and attentive.
