Sooo good! I've been to other Flying Biscuit restaurants in Atlanta before but I was really impressed with this location. Great service and fun atmosphere. I had the Southern Biscuit Benedict. It's their play on Eggs Benedict but with pimento cheese and biscuits instead. It came with a side of their creamy dreamy grits. Heavenly. Others in my party had the biscuits and gravy and eggs and turkey bacon. Everything is reasonably priced and has a homemade feel. It's great!

This was my first visit to a Flying Biscuit, I see them all over town, and since our 1st choice brunch spot had way too long of a wait, I decided to give this place a try. My BF and I came on a Sunday during brunch rush, there was about a 20-30 minute wait. No alcohol is served, just juice and coffee. I ordered the Hollywood omelet, it was really nice, egg whites, spinach, mushrooms, and tomato coulis, which was more of a puree, but no big deal. The flavors were great and it came with a side of fruit and biscuit. The biscuit was wonderful! So fluffy and huge, I didn't love the cinnamon strawberry jam it came with, but it didn't ruin the meal. My BF ordered the piedmont omelet, it was way too much going on. It was so rich for a breakfast dish, so much meat, cheese, and onions, he couldn't finish it, I took one bite and it was just too heavy. The creamy dreamy grits were delicious and we also shared a short stack of buttermilk pancakes. They were good, nothing spectacular. Overall the food was good, and the service was nice as well. Give it a try if you're in the area.

Got there around 10am on a Sunday morning and it was starting to get busy. I got the Hollywood omelet. Pretty standard and it wasn't swimming in grease, but I thought the biscuit was pretty dry though. The fried green tomatoes were not good. They did not seem fresh. It tasted like they were made the day before and microwaved this morning. Good thing they were free with Yelp check in. Not a bad place for brunch but this probably won't be my go-to breakfast spot in Atlanta.

Flying Biscuit is an Atlanta staple when it comes to breakfast and brunch. Although their food is solid, nothing blew my socks off except for one item on their menu. Food: A great selection of traditional American staples along with lunch items such as sandwiches and salads. They even have soyage for vegetarians. Although they are known for their biscuits, I LOVE LOVE LOVE their grits. It's a must try. Service: Service has always been great every time. Although they don't take reservations they will take call ahead. Parking: This location is located in a shopping center so plenty of parking. Tip: Don't forget to use your Yelp App for a free order of fried Green Tomato.

What a pleasant surprise to check in on Yelp and be offered a free Fried green tomato appetizer. Yummy. Smoked salmon scramble is always good. As is the biscuit with cranberry apple butter. Coffee is a bit too strong for me but that is ok. Atmosphere is busy. Service was a little slow. Still one of my fav places.

Love flying biscuits, the shrimp and grits! Today we are going to eat a variety of food and drink all the beverages they have to offer.

Another soaring success by The Flying Biscuit. Very Berry Chicken Salad was just the thing to brighten up a rainy day! Wonderfully fresh, healthy summer flavors and a raspberry vinaigrette that was actually made from raspberries (vs the cloyingly sweet syrup you often find at other restaurants). I'll be back for this salad!

This is where I eat brunch as a local and is one of my top local brunch places to take out of town guests. Biscuits and their apple jam combo is amazing!

Love this place had the Egg-stavaganza. Very tasty. Came with 2 pcs of turkey bacon, chicken sausage, biscuits, and the grits. The grits are to die for. Love this place

Disappointed with this place! Our server was very nice but that's about it. The food was lackluster at best. My omelette was over cooked and lacked flavor. Their "signature biscuits" were luke-warm and hard as a rock; they were more like European scones. There were two "bus-boy" employees that were bickering openly with each other; that wasn't professional. Those two dudes should take a break and handle it out back. Lastly, I went to wash my hands and walked to the back of the restaurant, whereby an employee was spraying the mats with some sort of deodorizer. Those mats stunk up the whole place. Their management should pay for a service to replace their mats frequently with fresh ones. Although they had a good health rating score, I won't be back. Sorry Flying Biscuit, you blew it! Too many good options available for breakfast in town.

I went with my grandparents for lunch and although the restaurant was crowded, there was no wait. Before I came, I did a little research and checked out the cafe's menu, so I had an idea of what I wanted to order, but the descriptions of the options sounded so good. I decided to try their Not Your Mama's Pimiento Cheese Sandwich and was very pleased, although it came with a large side of potato cubes, which was a little difficult to finish. My grandma got a Very Berry Chicken Salad and continuously praised it. Because of his love for chicken, my grandpa ordered the Oven Fried Chicken, and from what he ate, he seemed to like his food as well! The waitress was friendly and checked up on us several times and the quirky decorations made this place feel homey. I liked it overall!

Been to Flying Biscuit, but not to this location before. Had the basic breakfast. 2 eggs, bacon (real bacon), their special grits, potatoes, and a biscuit. $16 including pre-added tip. It was tasty. Except that I don't eat biscuits. These were some big biscuits. Resembled baseballs. Kinda. Nice server that handled a very large party (20+) very well. Small portions, I was still hungry. Nothing bad, nothing great. It was good.

I have been to multiple locations of Flying Biscuit and it is always really good. The food is pretty consistent between locations, but each has their own feel. The breakfast food is a good as any diner, but a little less greasy and is somewhat healthier. The lunch menu has some great options and the shrimp and grits is actually really good. In fact the grits are Some of the best I've ever had. Super creamy. All this and every plate comes with a biscuit and apple butter. What can be bad about that?

I would move into this place if I could. Yummy breakfast. They offer chicken sausage which is a plus. I also has THE best soy chai in my life!

Ok. So I had the turkey pot roast. Amazing!!! I had it for breakfast with eggs and potatoes. Of course, a side order of grits. I was in heaven!! The turkey pot roast was very tender and so flavorful. A must try!!

Love this Flying Biscuit! I always order the black bean cakes as an appetizer (extra sour cream on top and crunch from the raw onions makes me a happy girl!) and then I get the creamy dreamy delectable amazing fattening delicious grits. Oh-my-lanta they are so good! Either my bf or I get the steak n eggs and we always remember to order it MR so it's cooked properly. It's a super tiny size price of meat so it's overlooks easily! The potatoes are yummy and have good seasoning. Another plate for the table is an order of their thick and hot flying biscuits. Add gravy-heavenly. They give you an apple butter on the side which I'll never pass up, and the selection of jams and butter is a nice + I also love their orange juice..is that weird? All in all I'll eat here anytime of the day. I try to order something new every time I go but let's face it.

I've loved every location visited, and have thoroughly enjoyed the eclectic mix of patrons (and servers)! Today: Biscuits, Eggs and Gravy with those "creamy, dreamy" Grits on the side. The coffee is well brewed and perfectly polishes off the details.

I have been to the original one by Piedmont many times so I was a little skeptical when this one opened. But I love the additional space of this one and the food has the same taste. The service has okay for the most part. We did have one time when the server took a long time to greet us initially. So if you want the experience but not the cramped space, visit this location.

Since the last time I came to Flying Biscuit I have moved to Atlanta and this place is one of my favorites!! When I go I always go during lunch time so I can get the chicken club wrap and grilled mac and cheese. Soooooo good! I of course get a biscuit on the side and the jam has grown on me. I absolutely love it now! If anyone from back home comes to visit me I always take them to experience the yumminess of this place!

At 1:30pm on a Sat in Springtime ATL, where every other place in the immediate vicinity has a 30+ minute wait time, it was wonderful to walk into FB and be seated right away! I was pleasantly surprised at the extensive menu that offered plenty of vegetarian options! It was a tough choice but I decided to try their Egg-Ceptional breakfast platter. This comes with 2 eggs, sunny-side up, over black bean patties smothered in salsa and topped with sour cream. I found the bean patties to be a little too soft and mushy for my taste and the tomatillo salsa too bland. I would have preferred a spicy tomato salsa instead to give then dish some spice and better flavor. As usual, the plate came with a delicious FB biscuit! Dipped in yummy apple butter, I could devour a dozen! The side of grits were rather unique tasting which caused me to inquire from our server what were their ingredients. I learned that these special grits contains white cheddar and a ton (!) of cream! This is different than your typical Waffle House simple grits. I was taken back by their overly rich creamy flavor. Not sure if I would order them again or not. Still digesting so that decision will have I wait. We had a wonderful server who was kind enough to take a photo of us to mark this special outing! Thank you FB for bringing such fun and fabulous food to our special day!

I've only been to this location once. It was a nice experience. My friend & I only had to wait about half an hour for Sunday brunch, which is a little better than the wait at most other trendy ATL brunch spots on the weekend. Service was attentive. Food was good.

Food was ok. Bad service. Didn't have this experience before at a flying biscuit. Perhaps the waitress had a long day but don't take it out on us! Never going back again. Updated after mgmt response: To clarify. The food was the same flying biscuit quality. No compromise there. After management response to my review, I will go back. At least. It shows they care.

I liked the Flying Biscuit. Mom wanted to go again to OK Cafe, which I have had enough of. I checked Yelp and Flying Biscuit came up. Years ago I had eaten at the FB in Chandler Park, and FB has Wifi which OK Cafe does not, so I decided to go for it. Nice, light-filled location. Very pleasant hostess and wait staff. The menu is heavy on eggs, but they did have oatmeal. Here's the best part: Wifi + a depth charge (coffee with a shot of espresso). What's not to like?

I've been to this place twice. The omelettes was a little above average but I really didn't see what the big deal was (especially about their biscuits). I thought their biscuits was a little too hard for my liking. They couldn't even hold Red lobster's jock strap in the biscuit department. I think this is one of those places that you had to do because of the name and just to say you went there. This review isn't going to be long because really wasn't much to talk about it. It's average. Overall grade: C

The Flying Biscuit was a good place for breakfast. A group of co-workers and I flew into Atlanta to start a road-trip to Chatanooga, Tennesee and stopped here for breakfast. And a great breakfast it was. I had a basic egg and bacon breakfast, as I'm eating paleo. I didn't try the biscuits or moon dusted potatoes or creamy dreamy grits, but they looked good for a cheat breakfast. The staff was friendly; the were a bit flustered that morning because their computers were down (no credit card payments, all hand written orders to the cook staff), but they kept everything moving. I've eaten at a few restaurants in the South and I'm seeing a trend of "funky" decor, maybe something late 70's hippie trying to keep hold here. Its fun and unique. This road trip method instead of waiting for connections will occur again in the future, so I'll be here again for sure.

I've been back here a few times for lunch. I can say that that our experiences have gotten worse. I still like their biscuits. They have an interesting flavor that I like. Not to mention their breakfast items are decent and unique as well. I think if you come here, you have to stick with the breakfast items. The other items taste mediocre. For instance, I tried their Biscuit Pot Pie. I love their biscuits, so I figured a chicken pot pie with their biscuits as the crust would be awesome. What I got was some mush that looked like vomit. I got horrified when I got the dish. It wasn't anything I was expecting. Their biscuits were tiny and crumpled up in the pie. The cream tasted bad, and the chicken was overcooked. It was probably one of the worst meals I had. I looked like they just got someone's half-eaten, leftover pot pie and served it to me. Also, their service is bad. Even when they're not busy, they get orders wrong more frequently than normal. Also, they're super slow. I can get my entree first and 30 minutes later, my table mates would finally get theirs. One time, my co-workers waited 40 minutes to get their food, while the rest of the table got theirs. This happened multiple times. I'm not sure what happened. Maybe they stopped caring or got new, incompetent folks to run this restaurant. Based on the last, few experiences, I give this place 1.75 stars.

Great food and even better service, if you could imagine that. The early bird definitely gets the worm at this Atlanta classic. Thanks Lottie!
Went here for a late lunch. It was MUCH easier to find parking than it can be in the morning or at noon. It wasn't busy but there were still plenty of people around. I had the Egg-Ceptional Eggs and my friend had the Piedmont Omelet. She said hers was good. And mine was good as always. I love how the eggs sort of coat the black bean cakes and the feta adds another layer of flavor. I am always sad to see when the plate is empty. I had the potatoes since grits freak me out. They go well with everything as the tomatillo salsa, egg yolk and sour cream end up making a yummy coating for everything. The service can be hit or miss, but I feel like this location tends to be more hit than miss. We ended up there for a little over two hours and the waitress was great. She kept refilling our drinks even after we paid and never once seemed like we were taking up a table or she just wanted us to move on.

Nothing traditional about this breakfast. Menu is very hippy not healthy. No black tea at all everything was flavored so my wife was not happy. Then we tried to use our yelp coupon for a oven fried green tomato and they said they never seen it before. Come on people it's on your yelp site. Tomatoes not so good by the way. All food arrived cold due to kitchen being overloaded by a large table. Our daughter enjoyed the biscuit, but her Mac and cheese was a griddled slab of day old bland Mac and cheese. Her mother and I being chefs she is very open to food but this was unappetizing. We won't be going back.

Visiting from Boulder Colorado and one of these would kill it there! The chicken sausage gravy is some of the best gravy I have ever had. Great atmosphere and the service is southern hospitality at it finest!! Let me know if you want to expand to Boulder, Colorado

It's ok, but it's not the original and overall while I have meetings here from time to time there's little that brings me back to this location. I do enjoy FB's brunch, but something's just missing at this location and I feel more like I'm at J. Christophers than Flying Biscuit.

Flying Biscuits Did Not Fly Today My wife and I have been fans of The Flying Biscuit since very soon after the original opened in Candler Park in Atlanta. Now we sometimes breakfast at the Northside location because it is close to our church. Otherwise, we prefer the original Candler Park location which seems to us to have suffered the least from the "franchization." Today was not our favorite visit. The kitchen definitely needs some help here. First, though we arrived early before the restaurant was crowded, it took way too long to get our order. When our order did arrive, the sausage was overcooked and very dry and tough; the poached eggs were almost "hard cooked," not the way poached eggs are supposed to be; the pancake was tough (not sure how you cook pancakes to not be tough, but it can be done). And worst of all, the "flying biscuit" definitely did not fly. It did not rise to the height of the flying biscuits that we have long become accustomed to; it did not have the familiar glaze on top; and it was SQUARE, not round. This biscuit really looked like the frozen biscuits you but in the grocery. (I brought it home, have not tasted it yet, so I cannot attest to the taste. However, I have already decided that SQUARE biscuits do not taste as good as round ones.) How dare these new owners screw up the Flying Biscuits! I can deal with the locations not having specials (like the Candler Park location still does). I can deal with owners that don't seem like they have an organic understanding of what the Biscuit is and should be. But they need to pay attention to the food! Maybe most of the problems we experienced were the result of a "bad day" in the kitchen. But the SQUARE biscuits, I fear, are an indication of a decision to change the restaurant with no understanding that if you change the really good biscuits, you comprise the business model and that it will never be the same consistently good, consistently funky restaurant it used to be.

The food is better than the service. I don't understand how at 8am on a Saturday there can be only 2 people working. Not to mention they were eating their breakfast before they even took our order. This annoyed me big time! I did enjoy my oatmeal pancake and roasted red peppers. One pancake is huge I couldn't imagine eating 3!

Having not grown up southern, I've never been a big southern breakfast fan. I will say, however, that the biscuits at this place are the best ever. So delish! In addition, as a vegetarian, I've never had a problem finding several options on the menu to enjoy. There are several locations throughout Atlanta, but this one is one of my favorites.

Surprisingly, this is the first and only Flying Biscuit I've been to so far. Currently, there are about a dozen locations spread throughout metro Atlanta. This Flying Biscuit is located in the same shopping center as a Houston's and Pero's Pizza and Pasta. I went for Sunday brunch and it was packed out. The wait was about 20 minutes, which wasn't too bad. The restaurant has plenty of benches outside for you to sit on while you wait and they provide complimentary coffee. The interior is very colorfully decorated from tablecloth to ceiling tiles. They've got a bar and an open kitchen so you can see the cooks feverishly working to make everyone's breakfasts. They serve breakfast all day, which is a plus. They also have non-breakfast entrees on the menu, which include traditional American items such as salads, sandwiches, dinner plates (chicken, meatloaf, steak, etc.), and desserts (peaches and cream, key lime pie, etc.). While they do have "supper" entrees on the menu, this location closes at 4pm daily. I ordered the "Flying Biscuit Breakfast," which consists of two eggs (done any way you want) served with their chicken breakfast sausage and grits. I had the eggs scrambled with onions, which cost 59 cents extra. The chicken sausage patties were small, but were very savory and tasty. The grits and eggs were fine, but the biscuit was a bit hard. I liked our server, but service was slow because the restaurant was so busy. In the end, the Flying Biscuit is not a bad place to fulfill your brunch food cravings.

Grumpy H.
The only thing on their menu I've ever eaten was the Shrimp and Grits. When an item is so good that this is all you order, then I guess that's saying something about the item itself. The shrimp are not rubbery and the grits and nice and creamy. The sauce they use for the shrimp is fantastic (it's probably a pretty simple sauce to make but, hey.....I'm a simple kinda gal). I order this at night when I'm working the night shift in the area. The parking is always a challenge in the day hours but the night hours are good. The service? It's grab-bag at best. Sometimes you get a winning attitude from the employees - sometimes you have to stand there and wait for their smile to catch up with their face.

Oh this place was delicious upon my first visit. Has Turkey sausage for those who desire a variety of breakfast meats. Love the green tomato breakfast meal & the pancakes were good, which is hard to mess up!

I missed out on the hysteria and fandom when this was hot and cool; this review is for the store on Northside. It's okay, it's fine. This is the second time I've come - they are now to the point in time of their maturity as a chain that the plastic tablecloths are slightly sticky, the servers aren't really passionate about what they do, etc. The food is fine. The parking here (as he gropes for anything useful to say) is hit and miss. It's a big ass parking lot that gets packed at rush times so you have to time your meals correctly. Oh, wait wait - they were a good environment to meet my client! We weren't interrupted and it was pretty quiet. There.

I've been to this location of The Flying Biscuit in the past but recently was given a restaurant.com certificate to use here, so last week we decided to go one night for dinner. When we got there they were closed, they close at 4pm. Needless to say we were upset, but decided to come back another day during operating hours. The other restaurants are open till 10pm, not sure why this location closes so early. Saturday morning we went back from brunch at 1pm. For brunch we both ordered the biscuits, eggs and chicken-sausage gravy. When it arrived it looked like someone had puked on a sliced biscuit. The taste wasn't all that great, but it was ok. I enjoyed the side of grits best on the plate and think that if they had just served the eggs on the side rather than between the biscuit and gravy it might have been much better. Service was ok here, but we felt really rushed to eat and pay. Our server started off great getting our drinks, taking our order, and delivering our food; but her follow thru was not impressive. We never got any drink refills on our coffee and water, and she sat the bill on the table before we even had time to take our first few bites.

I'm a hippie from California and ever since moving here, it's hard to find that eclectic mix of Southern & "hippie" food. This is the perfect spot for me - I love it. The food is awesomely delicious and the staff is great. My 10-year old had a specific order and they kicked ass and made it perfect for him! I have eaten at 2 other Flying Biscuit locations, but this one is, by far, my favorite. I've only eaten breakfast here but look forward to going back for other meals in the future.

I love Flying Biscuit!!! I wish they would put some benches outside while you wait but that doesn't keep me from giving them 5 stars. I always get the Piedmont Omelet...it's the best!!! And their customer service is always pretty good. If you haven't been you have got to go!!!
(5)
Jake W.
Pretty standard breakfast place. I'd heard lots of hype about it, but wasn't overly impressed. I got the vegitarian omelete, which was good, but nothing outstanding. I will say the creamy grits were pretty fantastic (definitely the best part of the meal). I'm not a huge biscuit guy, but I thought their's was pretty bad. Also, weird jelly (never been disappointed by jelly, but theirs was too funky). If you're nearby one, it'll get the job done, but don't go out of your way to seek it out.

Jana S.
I can't stand grits. I have never understood why people would want to eat this mushy, grainy stuff voluntarily - not to mention cover them with butter and salt. But I can now say that thanks to The Flying Biscuit I've been converted to a grit-lover!! These grits are DELICIOUS!!! I will probably still not eat them anywhere else, but these grits are to die for!!! The biscuits are obviously hand-made and tasty. I had the oatmeal pancakes and loved every bite of it. I also liked that there are several healthy options on the menu for those a bit more health-conscious. It is definitely well worth the price you pay. I will be back FOR SURE!!! I would say that they seemed to have problems seating larger parties. Most of the tables were for 4 people max and there were several large parties waiting outside for a long time. So, if you're planning on going with a larger party, I would probably make reservations.

Love this place, of course, not as much as my beloved midtown location, but the food and flavors are all there. This particular location is closer to Buckhead, so I've stopped in on my way to the mall or with friends, and I've never been disappointed with the food or service. FB is known for their biscuits, of course, but their grits are to die for, not to mention their selection of organic meats and vegetarian food. Great place to eat, as they serve breakfast all day, but if you're in the mood for lunch/dinner, i really like the love cakes and the turkey loaf!
(4)

Solid breakfast place, priced a little high in my opinion, but the grits were INCREDIBLE and I don't even like grits! Don't waste your time ordering fruit...GRITS!! Eggs were cooked perfectly and we had fast friendly service. We will probably be back next time we want to spend $25 on breakfast.

Been here lots of times. Service has never been good. Food is decent for breakfast, but other meals not so. I think many people must feel the same as this location no longer serves dinner and is usually empty.

Uhm so am I the only person living in the Atlanta Metro area that is not drinking the Flying Biscuit Kool-Aid? I swear everyone but me loves or likes Flying Biscuit. I'm going to start looking for the Kool-Aid ring around people's mouths. Moving on to why I don't like this place, one the food is meh. Like meh to the 3rd power. For a place to be known for its biscuits I'm wondering why I could stone someone with their biscuits. I mean aren't biscuits supposed to be flaky and soft? *head scratch* As far as the rest of the food, I've had better at Denny's and I Hop and you know that is sooo not saying much. The Flying Biscuit is just a chain restaurant with great PR in my opinion. Don't believe the hype.

I just love the biscuits. The food was very good and came in large portions. This place is very popular on the weekends, so expect to wait.

1st it was quick and easy to get in and have a seat.. Ordered the Iced Chai Tea..which was amazing. But I must say, I went there to try there well talked about Biscuits.. But I found them Dry, Dense, and way to Heavy.. I expected "Light and Fluffy".. (thumbs down) But there rosemary breakfast potatoes, turkey sausage, and eggs. Tasted so fresh and amazing. I will go back for that. There Creamy Dreamy grits.. Made my stomach hurt.. I guess they use too much cream. Service was ok. They could be a little more offering. But good in all. It was good..

First off, Its pricey. I don't see the point of paying top dollar for eggs and bacon. Waffle House cooks eggs and bacon for less $$ and just as tasty and don't give me that organic SH$T either. I can't tell the difference between a sweat shop egg or a free range organic egg. Eggs are eggs people get over it! Anyway I ordered the clifton omelette and it was a bit lacking. I wasn't impressed. Also I also had the fried mac and cheese and damn what a disappointment. It was room temp and lacked of flavor. I did like the biscuit which was very dense and heavy. It looks light and fluffy. So that was different. I think they should sell sausage biscuit sandwiches. I liked the decor and service was adequate. But once again its pricey. It was very loud and crowded in there. I think they should lose One table, that would give everyone a little more room at the tables. I felt cramped. I liked the biscuits and the others in my party loved the hollywood omlette and egg-stravanganza. I might give it anthor try.

I have always loved the Flying Biscuit. Nothing beats the original location, but I have been some of the others. This location, by far was the worst! I ordered the BLT salad and the highlight of the dish usually is the fried green tomatoes. They we're soggy, mushy and oily. The bacon was super greasy. And then there was the biscuit :( it was rock hard and tasted like cardboard. Not the mouth-watering fluffy biscuit I have had at other locations. My husband had the devil burger, which he has had at other locations and really liked. Here it was just ok. The manager did take the salad off my bill, but I still don't think I will visit this particular location again.

We love Flying Biscuits ... unique menu items, delicious & thoughtful, good portions. Their signature "creamy, dreamy grits" really are something special! The biscuits are good (especially now that they've stopped experimenting with sugar on top!) The decor at all locations is fun and quirky but, having been to several of their locations, I'll just say this location is my least favorite, despite the AWESOME ceiling tiles.

All you need to know: Fried Green Tomato BLT. Dear God in Heaven, thank you for bestowing us with such blessings. Service was friendly, prices were reasonable, BLT was crazy delicious. I'll definitely be back.

Flying Biscuit is one of the best brunch spots (close to me) in Atlanta. The fact they serve breakfast all day appeals to my boyfriend and I enjoy the love cakes. We love it so much; we have made it one of our "spots". Sunday morning, he and I made a lunch date for brunch at Flying Biscuit. We arrived around 10:30am; he was worried it was going to be packed, but I wasn't concerned because we were right in between church crowd times. The restaurant was crowded, but not packed, as the hostess directed us immediately to a table. The service was friendly. Our waitress was a bit stingy on the coffee refills, most likely because at the time I was ready for my second cup, a large crowd walked in and they were probably having to brew some more. There was no rush to order and we took our time perusing the menu. (Sometimes this makes waiters/waitresses a bit antsy so they begin to hover until you order.) My boyfriend ordered the Eggs over Love Cakes (black bean cakes, if you haven't tried them, you need to) and I ordered an omelet with mushrooms and goat cheese. The food was great!!! And of course, the biscuits were to die for. We paid our check and left satisfied and content.

Flying Biscuit was actually our 2nd choice for lunch last Friday. Came here only b/c we had a ridiculous time trying to find parking for "OK Cafe" in the shopping center next door. We decided on FB b/c my friend said it's never crowded during lunch hour (which I had a hard time believing) - she was right. Saw several empty tables. Been to FB many times but first time to this location. First, the place is kid-friendly. My friend brought her baby & her 4-yr old daughter. High chair for the baby, and a coloring sheet (which also functions as the kid's menu) for the little girl. Perfect so I can catch up with the mom. Service is great, too. I asked our server if they had wipes for the girl b/c she had jam & biscuit crumbs all over her hands - they didn't but our server brought two wet napkins & two dry napkins for her. Nice. I decided to get the "Egg-stravaganza" b/c it seemed to offer the best value. For $9.95, I got two large farm fresh eggs (I ordered scrambled) served with their signature chicken breakfast sausage, crisp turkey bacon, plus whole wheat french toast topped with raspberry sauce & honey creme anglais. in addition, the dish comes with their famous fluffy biscuit w/ apple butter, and a choice of oven-roasted "moon dusted" potatoes, creamy dreamy grits or a side salad. I couldn't decide between the potatoes & grits - the server kindly offered to do half & half. Yay for service! I'd definitely order this dish again. Eggs were eggs. Potatoes were potatoes. Sausage & bacon yummy. French toast - my dessert and yeah, yummy too. Best part of the dish - the OMG creamy dreamy grits! I don't think there's a more perfect name for their grits. Great lunch choice if you work in the West Paces Ferry & Northside Pkwy area.

Definitely a place I will be going back to in the near future. My first time going to this place, I decided to try them out. They serve breakfast all day as well. I had the Piedmont Omelet, one organic pancake, potatoes, grits, served with a biscuit and apple cinnamon applesauce to spread on it, and topped it all off with orange juice. The organic pancake I was not too pleased with (maybe because I have never eaten organic/natural flap jacks before, lol) which was a little too thick for my liking. Other than that, along with friendly service, I recommend FBC highly!

Food: Pretty good. I go for breakfast, and enjoy the well-done eggs and super-thick bacon. My husband does not share this sentiment. We both love the french toast, however. Waitstaf: Fail. This location's wait staff is a bunch of lazy louts. We have com here numerous times out of convenience, and really should have just driven across the road to Goldbergs. They pretty much universally ignore you after your order is placed. God help you if you need an extra plate or fork, or heaven forbid...a refill of water. If you happen to have your toddler and just want a nice bit of breakfast, don't even bother. I literally had to find anyone who would take my money so I could leave. Geez.

I don't understand why people rave per this place the way that they do. It is marginal even on its best day. There is more to a Southern breakfast than biscuits and you would think that this place would have the best biscuits in town - NOT! Waffle House makes better food than this. Save you money and skip this place. The food is abysmal.

Passing through the ATL and decided to stop for breakfast For breakfast I had the steak and eggs, served with a side of grits. It's been a long time since I've had an experience like this, but definitely overdue!

Flying Biscuit is the one of the most overrated restaurants in the city of Atlanta. How overrated...hmmm...here are a few examples of how overrated: a) Imagine the thought of George W. Bush Jr's first professor at Harvard...he probably thought (in a the best Chris Rock voice you can imagine)..."He's a nice guy, but I just dont think he's Harvard material, and honestly, I am not quite positive that hes not retarded either..." b) Think about the first time they called Harold Minor "Baby Jordan"--his high school coach probably said (in the best Chris Rock voice)-- "Sure, hes got a nice shiny bald head and can make a layup--but I just dont think he should be in the same sentence as Michael J Fox, much less Michael Jordan... c) The CEO of Burger King, tasting his first Whopper---(once again Chris Rock)--"I mean, we can call it flame broiled--but do you really think I want to eat this sh-- every day? EVERY DAY!!! Alright I am done. How is your name Flying Biscuit, but your biscuits suck? I am not sure how they managed to pull that one off. In fact, if I had a competition for the worst biscuits in the world, Flying Biscuit could be the sponsor, and then enter the competition and whip everyone's azz. I have tried to like a number of things on this menu...I even went as far as to try the pancakes and bring in MY OWN favorite syrup, and even that couldnt help them. Wanna lear how to screw up fried green tomatoes? Just call the chef at Flying Biscuit, they'll find a way. And if they cant find a way, they will make a way. There is nothing about this place that I like. It's too expensive (but honestly they could have free breakfast here everyday, and I would drive by without even turning my head). The food takes too long to come out..(I imagine its hard work for them to come up with ways to prepare crappy food). The service is mediocre ..(I dont blame you guys, I would be reevaluating my life too if I had to serve this crap everyday...). Ok, I am done....Whew... Hold on, wait...I cant give 0 STARS...damn you, Yelp!

Still a good place for a healthy, fresh, breakfast. Don't waste your time with the Devil burger or whatever they call it. Blah. Was supposed to be spicy. I guess since they opened more locations they had to water down things like spicy veggie burgers. Oh well. Stick to the breakfast. You will leave stuffed, $10 per head later.

Before going to this location I had only been to the one in Midtown, and then only once. Today a co-worker recommended we go to the Northside location so I was all like 'Hell yeah!" and away we went. We were promptly seated and lucky enough to get a window seat. I love looking out and people watching so this was a huge plus for me. My co-worker ordered an egg sandwich with bacon and cheese. I ordered the Egg-Stravaganza which consists of: Two large farm fresh eggs served with our chicken sausage, crisp turkey bacon, creamy dreamy grits, plus whole wheat French toast topped with raspberry sauce and honey crème anglaise. I opted for potatoes instead of grits. Yes I know. I'm sure a pro-grits mob will find me one day. Anyway, the food was really very good and the service was prompt and courteous. I truly enjoyed the entire experience. I will return!

This is our favorite place! Coming here is a reward to my son when he has made major accomplishment since this is one of his favorite place. We also bring friends here to enjoy the time with them here. An out-of-town friend had her first try of grits at somewhere else years ago and did not like it at all; now she tried grits here reluctantly and totally loved it. We love the food, and love the staffs more! It is a great place if you like breakfast food!!!

Came here a couple of weeks ago for a Saturday brunch when it was cold as balls outside. The inside heater was broken! Arrg. I ordered my usual which is the Exceptional Eggs dish with black bean cakes and tomatillo sauce. I also ordered a side of soysage which was just meh. The grits, eh (they are my favorite food next to cheese so I am somewhat of a snob when it comes to my grits!). My friend and I ordered like 8 mimosas between the two of us because we thought they were $2 each... WRONG. They were $4. Oops! Luckily the manager was nice enough to give us a discount even though it was our buffoon mistake! It's interesting this place is called The Flying Biscuit and the biscuits are actually the absolute worst thing on the menu! Hard as a rock, no flavor, dry, cakey, yeasty, BLEH.... everything a GOOD biscuit should NOT be. What's up with that? By the way, they also now offer the same goodness in wheat. Yay... no.

Pretentious. They do not take reservations, yet we could not be seated because my parents were parking their car (apparently they get a lot of prank patrons, or it's not worth their time to serve you a cup of coffee while you wait 2 minutes for your party to park their car). Instead, four couples were sat ahead of us. We were made to wait an additional twenty minutes. So, at this point, it would seem that a business which benefits from such an overwhelmingly large clientele would have adequate overflow seating. No. Four chairs, that's it. Oh wait, you can stand outside. Let's speed this up. We finally get seated. A waiter comes by to announce his presence and disappears. He takes a twenty minute break during peak time on a Sunday at 11am. We have to ask for our order which is clearly sitting on the rack in the back. A different, yet equally disgruntled, waiter delivers our order. Well, most of it. I'd like to say this was a unique experience, yet I could not avoid others reactions to this level of service. Some were standing in the middle of this chaos, having to flag down their waiter. There was a manager present, though his time was primarily dedicated expediting food. I have frequented the midtown location over the years. I love the meatloaf, biscuits and apple butter and "podge" This one seems very corporate, the food seems "different". The entire experience, save for long wait was rushed. Our bill was the only thing they seemed interested in providing us with. It arrived as I began to eat.

Based on the reviews here, I had avoided this place. I wasn't thrilled this morning to be running errands in grunge and get a call to join friends for breakfast at the Flying Biscuit. No chance of getting them to change spots either, as they had already given names and were already in line. Ah well, so down Northside I go to scare the Buckhead folks by my failure to use makeup this morning or carry a purse worth more than my car. Or even a knock off of one. With all that in mind, and great trepidation on my part, I wound up being pleasantly surprised. Or is it maybe like going to the dentist to have a tooth pulled? And afterward you are so relieved you're still alive you forget all your fears from earlier? Either way, the service we received was good - fast, efficient, friendly. I ordered biscuits and gravy and I didn't realize they were going to throw some eggs under that gravy, something I would not have ordered or wanted. But it turned out that they worked. They also passed the Star-Provisions-greedy-bastards-test, although I don't think any restaurant not made of gold should have this test in the first place - when I got my bill, they were about to charge me nearly $6 for a coffee with a shot of espresso in it. Restaurants out there please pay attention - if a grande latte, with two shots and buckets of cream and in some cases even chocolate, is under $4, there is something WRONG with your pricing structure if you are going to charge me a couple of bucks more than that for a coffee with a single shot of espresso. This is a 'bar drink' in barista world, it's called a 'shot in the dark' - quit overcharging me just to get your butt rape quota met for the day! At least when I pointed out to the waiter at the Flying Biscuit that I felt I was being over charged for my coffee, unlike the staff at Star Provisions that felt I should be grateful for the privledge, he corrected it and I paid $3 - something I can live with. I'd go back again, and I wouldn't even try to talk my friends out of it-

I really enjoyed breakfast at the Flying Biscuit. I love anyplace that is so committed to specializing in and serving breakfast all day long. I wish there were more places of this quality where I live. IHOP is not doing much for the profession. I have had an egg scramble (with goat cheese, sun-dried tomatoes and spinach) and the pumpkin pecan pancakes and I stand by them both. The coffee is good, and they have some Georgia-unique items (peach nectar, lots of Southern-inspired dishes like grits, fried-green tomatoes and more). Our waitress was fast, efficient and friendly. Although the place was packed and they got us seated fast, they clearly make their money by turning tables, since the food is a really good bargain. So you'll get looks from hungry customers standing outside the window in the cold that say "Hurry up man! I'm hungry and it's freakin' freezin' out here!" and looks from the staff that say "Are you ready for your bill?" Or maybe I just always have a guilty conscience.

Really good brunch spot. The black bean cakes under my eggs were wonderful, hopefully they weren't absurdity high in calories. They were that good. Even if you are not a fan of grits, the cheese grits are wonderful.

This place has a funky flair and the food is absolutely delicious. The downfalls are the wait times for a table but that just goes to show you how much business they get. I was pleasantly surprised yesterday with my meal. I ordered the steak and eggs, my hubby ordered the eggs and pasta. Yeah thats right, pasta with eggs. And my friend ordered eggs with black bean cakes. They are also known for their chicken sausage, which is really good! The temperatute inside the establishment could have been a little cooler but it wasn't terrible. I enjoyed my food and the service. Will be back!

Whenever I'm jonesing for a good brunch, I think of Flying Biscuit first. It's just so easy for me to eat there on my gluten-free diet. The food is classic brunch, with lots of egg plate options. A healthier take on Southern food with something for everyone. When they're good, the biscuits are really good. When they're bad, they're hard and chalky. The grits are creamy and delicious. Back in the day I loved the fried green tomato salad and sandwich. Now I go for the egg plates, which I find a bit overpriced for what you get.

This place is a little overrated, yes, but it's still good. I love their bake brie with raspberry and peach sauce, their french toast, pancakes, original biscuits (not whole wheat), and pretty much everything else I've eaten here. I do wish they would slice their red onions thinner, however. Usually, the slices are too thick and my meal tastes more of onions then whatever else is in it, unless I take the onions out.

Not a fan. I've been here twice, and both times I found my meals to be subpar. The biscuits weren't really my cup of tea. Do not get the oatmeal pancakes. It tastes as if they zest an entire orange peel or dump concentrated peach juice into the mixture, and the tangy citrus just doesn't compliment the heavy oatmeal. Especially in pancake form. Yuppie clientele seemed really impressed by it all, and the waitstaff was fairly nice- I was just expecting more after all the rave reviews.

I went here today straight from my red eye flight back to the right having returned from the land of milk and honey. I was wired on sleep deprivation and the possiblities with the woman behind the voice I'd been tallking to for about a week, that I was able to drive out of my way to go over here. The food was average breakfast, but we had the fabulous experience of watching a child vomit right before us, and a waitress slip in it while Atlanta radio personalities (Bert from Q100 and Jimmy Barnes) coo'd at new babies (Jimmys'). I don't know if I'd go back here again, if only because the food was indeed average and the ultra preppy stares at tattoo boy were not so reinviting.

I was surprised to find out Flying Biscuit had branched out to the Westside....hip....hip....horray!! I went on a Saturday morning around 11 or so and the wait was maybe 15 minutes. I could see how a Sunday crowd could get crazy with that big-ass church right next door. The service was a little slow, but I won't knock it too hard since our server was training. I ordered my breakfast of over easy - well eggs, veggie "soysauge", grits and potatoes. And the biscuit to boot. The grits really are creamy and dreamy. I have to admit; I've never really understood the biscuits there.....I'm not really a fan. They kind of remind me of Bisquick biscuits in taste. However, they sure are pretty! I sampled my friend's pancakes with peaches and they were simply divine. Very earthy. The coffee was good and strong-always the sign of a true breakfast spot.

I don't know why I keep coming here. I guess I keep getting seduced by the notion of a good idea, and keep hoping the execution will be better. First, this should be a basic no brainer, but it's unforgivable that the eponymous morsel (the biscuit) turned out to be old and hard and not warm. The cranberry apple butter is disgusting. I wonder if the Mexican wrap actually had any serrano peppers. If there were any, I could not detect them. It's advertized as "spicy," but I've had oatmeal that was spicier. Why were the eggs not hot when they arrived? The one thing that works here is the chicken sausage gravy. I think some locations don't offer it on the regular menu, but this one does. The service is very friendly, though not the best at being proactive and anticipating needs (e.g., coffee refills).

While it doesn't have as cozy of Feel as the Flying Biscuit in Candler, this location is about 5 miles closer to home. Also it's a little friendlier looking than the Buckhead location (Really Flying Biscuit where's the heart in that place?). The staff is pleasent and friendly, the food is what you expect from the Flying Biscuit, the servings are more than generous, there are plenty of vegetarian options, and most important the coffee is great. As mentioned in other reviews, the biscuits at this location are not as good as Candler or Midtown, but my wife and I found that the whole wheat version holds up to the other locations.

We went here for lunch and before we entered, my dining companion described the restaurant as "eccentric" The inside is full of bright colors-greens and purples and yellows. They have mostly squared 4-top tables (to give it a much more homey feeling, unlike the rectangular ones. The walls and ceilings have images of cherubs and winged biscuits and every table has a vinyl tablecloth decorated in busy, bright cornucopias of colorful fruit. Perhaps being from San Francisco instead of Cobb County gives me a different view on eccentric. This place just seemed like a typical neighborhood joint: a little kitschy, a little tacky, a little quirky, a lot of character. But by no means was it a place I would dub "eccentric" We went for lunch and the first thing I noticed was the vegan option on the menu. A couple vegetarian options and a vegan option in the south?!?! I was not expecting to see that and my friend informed me that that is not a normal thing at most restaurants. Indeed, this is one of the aspects that makes Flying Biscuit "eccentric". Granted, many restaurants I go to emphasize the "local, sustainable, organic" model, all have vegetarian/vegan/gluten free options, serve tofu at breakfast, etc, so this didn't feel like anything too out of the ordinary. I ordered the jambalaya, which came with a side salad and their signature biscuit with apple jam. Not to heavy on the dressing for the salad, just a touch of flavor with a lot of great greens. The jambalaya had great flavors, but you can taste the amount of cream and butter in everything (not exactly healthy, but perhaps that's why it's good). Now the biscuit was amazing. It was light, fluffy but not too oily. It paired perfectly with the apple jam. My only gripe is the service was a bit slow. But I was warned that things move at a slower pace in the south, so maybe I'm just being overly critical. They were still quite friendly and did manage to keep our water glasses full. Overall, a nice little neighborhood joint. Nice to know that there's a place where one can get contemporary twists on comfort foods

I am a huge fan of FB but was so disappointed with this location. People nice, service fast but it smelled HORRIBLE in there! There was a really disgusting area in the ceiling leaking water and I'm not sure if the smell was from there or not, but there were several room fresheners and sprays being used to mask it. It grossed us out...couldnt get out of there fast enough. Unfortunately we wont be back after that.

I'm not terribly impressed with this place anymore. I think this particular loction has declined since its opening. Sure, there biscuits are good and some things are just hard to mess up. They have a few specialties that are good. Since it's not a quirky little place in East Atlanta it's just not the same. I've been to several of the other locations over the years and my experience is the same. I feel like I am in a chain restaurant.

I like em. The original one off Clifton Rd has slanted floors, so the fact that this isn't slanted is a plus. Food is good. Biscuits are flying. Etc. Etc. My one gripe is that their grits in the shrimp n grits (my fave) isn't made the same as the original. It should be creamy, seasoned and thick. Like you can eat it with a fork and it won't run. The grits I had were not thick. They had to be eaten with a spoon. Also, they didn't taste creamy, it shouldn't be pure white but almost an off beigy color due to milk added. They tasted like plain ol' grits. I've ordered it twice and got the same result so it wasn't a fluke. Other than that, big open eating arrangement. Wait staff is friendly. Food arrives hot.

Are you looking for a biscuit so hard that you could throw it and it will break a window? I guess that's why this place is called The Flying Biscuit! Considering that the word biscuit is in this restaurant's name, you would think that's the best thing they have to offer. I went here for my birthday and i was very disappointed. The biscuits were cold and rock hard, not soft enough to cut and put butter or syrup on. They had a sweet taste, but they were so cold and hard, i didn't want to eat them. Did I come at the wrong time? The eggs were good, but who can't make good eggs? And the grits were actually pretty tasty, but they tasted like they were mixed with bacon grease, I just got that heart attack waiting to happen feeling from them. The sausage was probably a preformed frozen patty that I could have made at home. Save yourself about $15, go get a bag is Pilsbury frozen buttermilk biscuits, some eggs, and some Quaker grits and make your own breakfast! I'm still getting over that cold, hard biscuit? They're really known for these?? *Update* I tried this place again a few days ago (almost one year after my original review), at the Roswell Road location, but I just wanted to update this review. I found out that they serve two different kinds of biscuits, the a wheat biscuit which would be hard and a white flour biscuit. The waiter informed me of this and gave me a free sample of the white biscuit. It was actually pretty good, but still a little on the hard side, but still much better than I remember. The grits were still good, but IMO, you could make a meal of the grits alone. Anyway, I'm upgrading from 1 star to 3 stars based on the food, and I'm assuming that all locations have the same menu and recipes. ****Update, December, 20th, 2011***** The Flying Biscuit has become one of my favorite places to eat breakfast since my original review. I probably just had a bad experience for the first time. Their grits are still good and they have some other pretty good menu items. I like that their ingredients are natural and fresh. Just remember to get the white flour biscuit! The Flying Biscuit has worked its way up from 1 start to 4 stars from me!

PLEASE COME TO CHARLESTON. That should be enough. Just incase, this place is hands down, the best breakfast I've ever had. (Don't tell my mom!) The biscuits ARE that big of a deal. The grits ARE that good. The sausages the potatoes... I can't talk about it. Sigh. Seriously, one of the best things about this place is that while it offers a healthy, organic and even a vegetarian menu, there is no denying that this food is REALLY flipping good, across the board. To keep consistent with other reviews; the service was always very good and the atmosphere couldn't be better. Flying biscuit offers fantastic people watching, the restaurant itself is colorful and eccentric. It's just a happy place.

I like Flying Biscuit. I've been eating at one or another of their locations for years. They are best at breakfast meals. Eggs are properly cooked. Salads are good.I personally love the black bean cakes and the toppings provided. The fried green tomato sandwich is a wonderfully designed dish except for the tomatoes, over-breaded and mushy. Various meals are very nicely combined and presented. I love the grits. Three things to avoid: the biscuits (dry, heavy and I think they actually have sugar in them!), the coffee and the oven baked chicken. Especially the coffee. I keep ordering coffee because the menu has a lot of breakfast items. I really believe Flying Biscuit has the most odious, revolting coffee I've ever tasted outside of one of those hotel-room packets. There's a Caribou Coffee a few yards away, sharing the same parking lot. Next time I will just bring my own. The chicken is okay, but it should be fantastic. This place tends towards healthier types of food, which is why the biscuits probably don't measure up. It's pretty difficult to make a healthy biscuit that is also delicious. My husband thinks the grilled mac and cheese is delicious. I think it's a tiny, tough little overpriced square. I suppose it's a matter of taste.

This place is good. Not as good as everyone makes it out to be. I don't understand the hype over the biscuit. They are a tad dry to me and not enough taste (same experience at both locations). I love the grits but have to be in the mood for it because their grits are not traditional...they are a tad sweet and very creamy (I think they put cream in them). As for th entrees I've had very good entrees here. All in all good food but not slap your mama good.

I have been to this Flying Biscuit Cafe a few times. I have had the warm chicken salad and the Veggie Burgers a few times here. The food is always consistently good. I usually sit at the bar to eat. The staff here is always friendly and the place seems to be run very well. I haven't tried the regular biscuits, but the whole wheat biscuit is delicious. All in all, this is a great location for me to get me comfort food fix. To contrast, I don't recommend that you go to the Flying Biscuit Cafe on Johnson Ferry. The service there does not exist,...literally...(see my review) I will not hold it against Flying Biscuit as a franchise, instead I will just continue to going to the reliable location on Northside.

The Good - Rosemary "moon dusted" potatoes were seasoned to perfection. - Apple Butter, holy crap that's good. - Biscuits are amazingly just like mom would make. - Scrambled eggs were blissfully fluffy. - Service was exceptional. The Could-be-better (and how) - Rosemary potatoes could be a little crisper. I like a little crunch on the potato, and these were more chewy. - Gravy could be spicier. The Sausage flavor was good, but some ground pepper would knock it out of the park.

NOT Impressed. Quite disappointed because I've actually been wanting to try it for years after hearing the hype around it. Maybe I would have been better off with the breakfast options, but I was there at lunchtime and had already had breakfast. Very unfriendly service. Tried the Fried Green Tomato BLT. It was dry, and boring and the cashew jalapeno relish was NOT good. Friend got the soup & salad. Tomato basil soup tasted like marinara out of a jar..kinda felt like it should be served with mozzarella sticks for dipping. And ONE salad dressing option to put on your "salad" of solely mixed greens? Come on. The ONE positive of the experience: the grits. I MIGHT give them another chance and go back for breakfast some day, but I'm not in a hurry.

I took my wife here as a surprise one Friday evening, fully expecting a long line. However, the place was half empty! A big boost for this place, since my only FB experience was at the one in midtown and was everything I didn't like.... a long wait, horribly sparse parking and a very cramped interior. This Flying Biscuit is totally the opposite. :) The food was delicious :D This is someplace we'll go again and again :) BTW: Raving Brands sold off Moe's a few months ago... they still own FB and all the other restaurants they did before, including the soon-to-be-defunct "nasty" Mama Fu's.

Not being a Georgia native I found the flying biscuit to be a treat. Its really good stick to your ribs kind of food: Southern comfort food. The mac n cheese came in a 4 inch by 4 inch by 2 inch brick ( this is a good thing, trust me), and the collard greens were just right, not too wilted.oddly the biscuits were not worth mentioning. the portions are insane, but they kindly offered us boxes without the need for us to ask. the service was good, my drink was always refilled even on a busy Sunday morning. I can dig simple food, and this certainly beats a cracker barrel. You will not leave here hungry, but I know theres just has to be a " mom'n'pop " breakfast place thats willing to out do them, by adding just a bit more comfort and southern flavor to their dishes. Until i find that place, the FB is doing pretty good by me.

Ummm...okay. I liked it, but I didn't love it. I was hell bent on having a fantabulous brunch one Sunday and The Flying Biscuit seemed like a no-brainer. But something was missing. I'm not sure what. Just something. The food was tasty - I had the Flying Biscuit Breakfast (2 eggs, chicken sausage, dreamy grits) and while it was good, I can't say it hit the proverbial spot. Maybe I was just looking for something else. I mean, it wasn't a bad experience at all. The staff was friendly and attentive, we didn't have to wait and the parking was fine. Still...I wanted more. Oh well. Maybe next time. I'm sure there will be a next time.

Its very organic hippie kinda food in my opinion but I was pleasantly surprised how good the turkey bacon was. In addition the apple butter with the biscuit is just a divine combination. When my food came out it was a bit cool compared to everyone else's and the waiter noticed my displeasure and took it back and had a new one prepared and the manager came over and spoke with us for a little while I was very impressed with their service.

Meh. The food itself is good - it's the same quality as the one in midtown. So that itself is not an issue. All things considering, it doesn't seems like the place have the same spirit that the other FB has - over there (midtown), it seems that the waiters have great personalities. I guess that got watered down a bit with this FB. That and I am not terribly fond of the atmosphere. In midtown, you get a nice cross section of people of all sorts. In Buckhead you get . . . rich people of a certain color. Otherwise, this place is a go. And to be fair, it may be different during lunch time and dinner, so I'll try those times later one. I will say this, though: don't expect an exact clone of the other FBs.

Today, 2/7/2010, was my first visit. Lots of choices, but a little pricey for breakfast [but isn't everyone? -excluding waffle house. Lol] I went with the Piedmont Omlette. It lacks seasonings but the sausage has BITE! (whew) The home-made apple butter was pretty good but the grits really stole the show. I'll be returning to try a couple of other dishes. Hopefully I'll see some of u guys there.

Great breakfast spot. We got up late and got there around 10:30 or 11 and we sat right down. Service was friendly and fast. We both thought our breakfast was good and the biscuits might have been the best we've ever had. I will be back.

Yummy. So yes, we had to wait about half an hour, and we were starving, but it was soooooo worth the wait. I had the piedmont omelette with grits, and a side of fried green tomatoes. I know, odd combo, but I could not, in good faith, leave the south without some fried green tomatoes! So if it had to be for breakfast, well, so be it. And they were so delicious. Everything was delicious. From the biscuit with apple buttah to the omelette to those amazing fried green tomatoes. Drool. The grits were yummy too, nice and creamy. So good I got the cookbook. And am going to force it upon my brother (Dave F on Yelp New Brunswick, by the way, show my brother some love!). He's planning on becoming a cook, and this cookbook should help along that path, or at least make for some darn good southern cooking!

I have decided that from now on I will post the meal that I ordered at the restaurants. Since I am very picky and like to eat very healthy, I will share that with everyone else. First off I love this place. The setting, service, and ambiance is great. We once again had Giovanni as our waiter and he was as good as it gets. He is thorough, nice, warming, and rapidly fills my water as I drink them fast. Great job, Giovanni! What I Order For Lunch Today 3B Chicken Sandwich (Blue cheese, turkey bacon, breast of chicken) I turned the sandwich into a wrap. I took out the blue cheese and added goat cheese as it is much healthier for you. I also had them add extra lettuce to plump up the wrap. I also order the salad before the meal and asked for no biscuit. BIG TIP: If you order an entree than it comes with complimentary salad. However, if you order the salad before the meal than it comes on a larger plate.

I feel like if you're from the Atlanta area and you haven't at least tried Flying Biscuit then your life should feel a little incomplete. According to a few reviews some people are quite angry/disappointed with their experiences. I, however, am always a happy camper when I leave. I usually stick to the same 3-4 dishes that are basically eggs of some sort, grits, and a yummy biscuit with cranberry apple butter. I feel like that's their specialty and I live for that combination so it works for me. I would also recommend you try their whole wheat biscuit. I don't ever see it on the menu, but they do offer one and it's really good.

Our service was a little slow when my friends went here after a long night out on the town....but nevertheless.........nothing heals a hangover more than a monster biscuit and butter. Delicious isn't even the word! The food was delicious! I will definitely go back!

OK, I don't know about other people but I am going to describe my pet peeve (which is what happened at this restarant). Having never eaten there I asked the waitress how their Eggs Benidict was. Her response was " I have no idea, I don't eat eggs." How helpful. While I am glad to know that she is healthy....why doesn't she at least know about the items on the menu? Also, I hate to inform her but uhhh you are working in a restarant that specializes in breakfast, therefore EGGS!!!! Ordered eggs and bacon and the eggs were cold. Overall bad experience.

colorful interior. we were actually the only few in there this afternoon. had their breakfast the chicken sausage was pretty good. egg's ok my biggest mistake was change the grit to a tomatoes soup which wasnt goood at all. gf had one of their lunch menu sandwish which was average. i think that the more location they open the less "special" their stuff is. and could someone prove me wrong because i cannot find any better pancakes than the one i got from ria's bluebird

The Flying Biscuit offers many different choices for breakfast (all day) lunch and dinner. The food is high quality and cooked well.
(4)

The breakfast is delicious (I had the sausage gravy and eggs - it's chicken sausage, which is a great alternative to the norm)! I love that they serve fresh OJ in a large glass, not one of those tiny one-shot glasses. The environment is eclectic and fun, but the service is just a little slow (we were there on a very busy Sunday morning). The price is what I'd expect for breakfast. Overall a great restaurant!

Don't come here during morning hours. The line is insane!! 2-3PM is the best time if you don't want to stand in line. Food is pretty good but I'm so sad that the Flying Biscuit has been bought out by Raving Brands (Moe's Southwest Grill) and has turned into a franchise. I hear they plan on having 50 locations within the year. Let's hope the quality of the food/service does not go down!!

Cheesy grits are a must. The biscuits themselves might not be the worlds best, but slather them with apple butter and they're great! Loved that they let me substitute soy sausage for my meat option.

I had never been to any of these restaurants before so I am not sure how consist ant they are.First of all my wife and I went on a Sunday afternoon and I think we got caught in the church crowd so it was about a 30min wait. The food was a bit different than what I expected....everything is very southern.I ordered a BBQ Tofu burrito and it wasn't quite the BBQ I expected..it was more a subtle vinegar BBQ. I think it was pretty good. The portians were big. Biscuits come with every meal and I REALLY enjoyed the white flour one.The wheat for some reason is not nearly as good. The whole meal was pretty good.....good enough to want to visit again and try something new at least.

You have to respect a breakfast place that serves turkey bacon and chicken sausage as their primary breakfast meats, and they seem to at least offer the opportunity for healthy breakfast dining. Their grits do manage to be both creamy AND dreamy, though I think I prefer some with a little more texture. I was disappointed with their biscuits, which are huge, but a little too dry for my taste. Otherwise, a great meal in what seems to be the heart of upper middle class Atlanta...

I'm of fan of the original location, and I'll admit the food was decently up to par even if the strip mall location misses some of the charm of the Midtown spot. The scrambled eggs with salmon and dill and love cakes (black bean cakes with tomatillo sauce, feta and sour cream) are the best items on the menu. Two negatives - the biscuits at this location are absolutely inedible and the feta cheese used on the love cakes is odd. I've had it several times there now, and have noticed on all occasions that it is too soft and not salty or flavorful enough. I'm probably just being picky or maybe it's just a different type of cheese. Still worth checking out for their solid breakfast food.

Service is quick and good, but food was just ok. Grits were most def creamy and eggs were cooked to perfection. My biscuit was a little dry but I am sure it is just a taste preference. And the medium rare steak is NOT medium rare but that is what I get for ordering steak for breakfast. Overall a good brunch place to have in the A

Place is extremely nasty and dirty. I know the company that cleans this place and some of the horror stories I've been told would make your skin crawl. You are really brave if you eat at this place.

It's great!
(5)Caroline K.
(4)Sylvia Y.
(3)Khoi T.
(3)Velvet B.
(5)Keesha P.
Love flying biscuits, the shrimp and grits! Today we are going to eat a variety of food and drink all the beverages they have to offer.
(4)Meg R.
(4)Chandra S.
This is where I eat brunch as a local and is one of my top local brunch places to take out of town guests. Biscuits and their apple jam combo is amazing!
(4)Danielle A.
Love this place had the Egg-stavaganza. Very tasty. Came with 2 pcs of turkey bacon, chicken sausage, biscuits, and the grits. The grits are to die for. Love this place

I love this place. I have never had a bad experience here. The atmosphere is nice, the staff is well trained and their food is delicious all for a pretty good price. A+
(5)J. H.
(1)Dorena N.
(4)Adrienne T.
(3)David G.
(4)Nickie J.
I would move into this place if I could. Yummy breakfast. They offer chicken sausage which is a plus. I also has THE best soy chai in my life!
(5)Tina B.
Ok. So I had the turkey pot roast. Amazing!!! I had it for breakfast with eggs and potatoes. Of course, a side order of grits. I was in heaven!! The turkey pot roast was very tender and so flavorful. A must try!!
(5)Mary Margaret B.
(4)Danita C.
Went for my 30th bday for breakfast with my boyfriend my cousin suggested it so we went the food is amazing staff was great and it's worth wait if the are busy it's a must now when we come to visit:-)
(4)Kevin H.
I've loved every location visited, and have thoroughly enjoyed the eclectic mix of patrons (and servers)! Today: Biscuits, Eggs and Gravy with those "creamy, dreamy" Grits on the side. The coffee is well brewed and perfectly polishes off the details.
(5)M'Kaneghay H.
I have been to the original one by Piedmont many times so I was a little skeptical when this one opened. But I love the additional space of this one and the food has the same taste. The service has okay for the most part. We did have one time when the server took a long time to greet us initially. So if you want the experience but not the cramped space, visit this location.
(4)Sophia K.
(5)Nancy L.
(4)Dee P.
I've only been to this location once. It was a nice experience. My friend & I only had to wait about half an hour for Sunday brunch, which is a little better than the wait at most other trendy ATL brunch spots on the weekend. Service was attentive. Food was good.
(4)Chandran M.
(3)Charles S.
(4)The Geman Car Guru - Michael U.
Love this place! Great staff, food and the wife loves their grits. Oh yeah, their biscuits rock too...
(5)Steve B.
(3)Beau R.
(4)Jang C.
(2)Melissa S.
Great food and even better service, if you could imagine that. The early bird definitely gets the worm at this Atlanta classic. Thanks Lottie!
(5)Mindy B.
This place was a cheery stop on a rainy Sunday morning! We found it, thanks to yelp, and wanted to have a nice breakfast before we hit the road back to Nashville. The grits were definitely "creamy dreamy" and the chicken sausage was really great! I think the oven roasted potatoes were my favorite, I don't know what they were seasoned with, menu said it was moon dust, but whatever it was...it was perfect! I thought the biscuits were a little heavy, definitely no competition for Loveless Cafés Biscuit Lady, and someone was a little heavy handed with the cinnamon in the apple butter. Still, I would definitely recommend this place for an authentic southern breakfast when you're in the area!
(4)Leah G.
(4)Jeramy W.
(1)Peter Gof L.
Happy to have the opportunity to speak personally with the owner over previous minor issues. Resolved. Back up to five stars!
(5)Dog L.
Visiting from Boulder Colorado and one of these would kill it there! The chicken sausage gravy is some of the best gravy I have ever had. Great atmosphere and the service is southern hospitality at it finest!! Let me know if you want to expand to Boulder, Colorado
(4)Carrie B.
It's ok, but it's not the original and overall while I have meetings here from time to time there's little that brings me back to this location. I do enjoy FB's brunch, but something's just missing at this location and I feel more like I'm at J. Christophers than Flying Biscuit.
(3)Dana K.
I can't believe this was my first experience with the Flying Biscuit. YUMMY! I got the Hollywood Omelet and it was delicious, even if my picky 2yo wouldn't touch it. I will definitely be going back.
(4)Helena C.
we had the tofu scramble with fruit and potatoes, it was super yummy and great portion sizes! I will also mention I requested soy milk for my coffee and they had it! yay!
(4)Nathan M.
My wife and I stopped here by suggestion of my sister in law. The food was good and the service was also good. I would recommend trying this place out and the steak and eggs are a great choice (real steak).
(4)John K.
(2)Tom N.
(3)Cara K.
(4)Ah-Lawn-Ugh M.
The egg-ceptional breakfast was delish. The creamy dreamy grits were very light and yummy. Service was a bit slow but overall a good experience.
(4)Sport L.
I'm not a fan of the flying biscuit. That's just my opinion. It's breakfast food. I've had better. Our waiter was horrible at this location.
(2)Michelle S.
Piedmont egg white omelet and biscuit-enough said!!!! Great family own restaurant for those seeking a taste of the south..

Had a delicious brunch here on Sunday. It had been a while since I visited but it definitely didn't disappoint. I'm not usually a grits fan but theirs are amazing!! The potatoes are really good too :)

Realy Bad! I have been going to flying buscit on northside. It was never very clean. But today when I was wating to use the restroom. I saw there chef cleaning the toilet. Which there manager confirmed. I can not eat there know that fact!
(1)Caitlin B.
(4)Whitney T.
I love Flying Biscuit!!! I wish they would put some benches outside while you wait but that doesn't keep me from giving them 5 stars. I always get the Piedmont Omelet...it's the best!!! And their customer service is always pretty good. If you haven't been you have got to go!!!
(5)Jake W.
(3)Jana S.
(4)Travis B.
Good breakfast place. It can get busy on the weekends.
(4)Tilia M.
(4)Michael W.
Food is very good! Staff does a good job of moving people in and out. Sometimes the place is a little too popular for its own good and can be quite busy. I definitely recommend!!
(4)Nikki L.
Service is slow...the food was ok.
(2)Kayla F.
(4)H P.
Been here lots of times. Service has never been good. Food is decent for breakfast, but other meals not so. I think many people must feel the same as this location no longer serves dinner and is usually empty.
(2)Dee Dee C.
(1)Fabian W.
I just love the biscuits. The food was very good and came in large portions. This place is very popular on the weekends, so expect to wait.
(4)Natashia m.
(4)T. M.
(2)Stef S.
(1)Mrs G.
(4)Tejas R.
Great atmosphere, great food, fast service - what more do you need? Thoroughly enjoyed an efficient, satisfying meal on a Sunday afternoon.
(5)Michelle C.
All you need to know: Fried Green Tomato BLT. Dear God in Heaven, thank you for bestowing us with such blessings. Service was friendly, prices were reasonable, BLT was crazy delicious. I'll definitely be back.
(5)Stephanie R.

(4)Sarah H.
Geez.
(2)Fefe F.
I don't understand why people rave per this place the way that they do. It is marginal even on its best day. There is more to a Southern breakfast than biscuits and you would think that this place would have the best biscuits in town - NOT! Waffle House makes better food than this. Save you money and skip this place. The food is abysmal.
(2)Marc M.

(1)Adam W.
(3)Jennifer J.
(4)Wylie T.
The turkey hash is awesome! Perfect taste, portion, and texture. Can't lose...
(4)Jenn K.
Please let me have a neverending supply of their grits? Please? A vat? A trencher? Possibly even a turreen! The grits and biscuits here always help me soothe an upset stomach.
(5)Theresa J.
(5)Charisse M.
Yay... no.
(3)Dan C.

I'd go back again, and I wouldn't even try to talk my friends out of it-
(4)Chris F.
(4)Murray I.
Really good brunch spot. The black bean cakes under my eggs were wonderful, hopefully they weren't absurdity high in calories. They were that good. Even if you are not a fan of grits, the cheese grits are wonderful.
(4)Tanisha L.
(5)Brooke B.
(3)Rie S.
(4)Kim N.
(2)Sarita S.
PHENOMENAL! The food was excellent and the service was even better. Not much more to be said!
(5)Edward L.

(4)Milton G.
Excellent customer service Piedmont omelet was excellent grits were good but could be thicker and they have a very nice menu to choose from
(3)James P.
(1)Adam K.
(4)Stephanie W.

Truly middle of the road experience. Food was ok. Atmosphere was fun.

Unfortunately the Northside/West Paces location closes at 4:00 PM now. Don't bother trying to eat dinner there. What a waste.

Best grits I've ever had. The a/c was out and it was 90 degrees outside, but the food was worth it.

Great oatmeal pancakes, very unique menu with very accommodating and good service. Definitely a great local joint. However the price is high for breakfast

(3)Shannon W.
Just ate here and the food was cool but the service was bad.. I could here the wait staff talking bad about their patrons. Grumbling about what they don't want to do. Looking at the lemons as if they were spoiled. Just bad...

Love the biscuits and apple butter! Have never had a breakfast there I didn't like! Great food, service and will definately be back!
(5)Shawn M.

Breakfast!! Nothing can be more better then having a good heart breakfast :) and wow Flying Biscuit opened down the street from me :) I was soo excited and had to go check it out! I had the egg biscuit was soo good!! The biscuit was buttery and flaky! Very good :) Flying biscuit def gets a two thumbs up from me!!! Wish they would franchise nationally..its a great Breakfast place :)

(3)Sabrina M.

(4)Rilindo F.

(5)Irene F.

(4)Erinn J.

Great casual meal. (lunch or breakfast) Especially if you have a child. A
(3)Donald F.
colorful interior. we were actually the only few in there this afternoon. had their breakfast the chicken sausage was pretty good. egg's ok my biggest mistake was change the grit to a tomatoes soup which wasnt goood at all. gf had one of their lunch menu sandwish which was average. i think that the more location they open the less "special" their stuff is. and could someone prove me wrong because i cannot find any better pancakes than the one i got from ria's bluebird
(3)Jeff B.
The Flying Biscuit offers many different choices for breakfast (all day) lunch and dinner. The food is high quality and cooked well.
(4)Jessica B.
(4)Marina T.
(4)Cailin B.
Cheesy grits are a must. The biscuits themselves might not be the worlds best, but slather them with apple butter and they're great! Loved that they let me substitute soy sausage for my meat option.
(4)Charles R.
(4)Wallace S.
(3)Pickle Z.
(3)Rick L.
Service is quick and good, but food was just ok. Grits were most def creamy and eggs were cooked to perfection. My biscuit was a little dry but I am sure it is just a taste preference. And the medium rare steak is NOT medium rare but that is what I get for ordering steak for breakfast. Overall a good brunch place to have in the A
(3)Rob B.
Place is extremely nasty and dirty. I know the company that cleans this place and some of the horror stories I've been told would make your skin crawl. You are really brave if you eat at this place.
