The location is sketchy....but the food was great! The "Fajita Quesadillas" was off the chain and it was HUGE! The Texas Margarita was on point as well! The service was good too! I reccommend this place to anyone....I dont know If i'd personally go after daylight....but its a good look! My order was: 1 Small Fajita Quesadillas ($7.00) 1 Texas Margarita ($5.00) 1 Cheese Dip ($3.50) Total was $16.05 I was full as a damn tick!

This place looks totally sketchy. Like barely looks open. But it is. and Thank goodness for that. The inside was clean. Servers said hello and smiled as soon as we walked in. The chips and salsa were fresh and flavorful. We were shocked about the LOW prices. VERY AFFORDABLE. I got the chicken fajitas for 1 which was plenty of food for 2 people it was $9.00. I also had 2 margaritas that tasted delicious and well, thats was all needed for the night! ha. If we are ever in College Park again, we're going to this hidden gem. I would also recommend going before night time....as we left after dusk and two police officers were monitoring the restaurant patio.

No. Just hell no. the only reason why this place gets 1 star is because their jack Daniels wings are great & the margaritas are cheap & on point. HOWEVER, the customers are the epitome of classless, ratchet, ghetto, ignorant minorites. Some friends & I went on a Friday night... first & last time ever going. It was all cool with the drinks flowing & our nice waitress taking good care of us. After maybe an hour we decided to go sit out on the balcony as the DJ cranked some nice modern day tunes.... about 30 minutes after sitting outside gun shots (YES GUN SHOTS) rang out right in front of the damn Mexican restaurant. Smh. Everyone went into a frenzy... running inside.. going to get their own guns.. idk. My girlfriends & I hid in the women's restroom for about 10 minutes. Not to mention I somehow ended up getting ambushed by some bear looking man while I was trying to make my way to safety in the bathroom.... What is the world coming to when people are shooting in front of the Mexican restaurant? Smh.. just no. There are other more safe Mexican restaurants for you to enjoy. Skip this place.

Pretty decent. My friend and I were seated and served pretty quickly, and the majority of the food was good. I wasn't too fond of the taste of my taco, but I enjoyed my rice, refried beans, and tostada, and my friends enjoyed her churros!

I had an absolutely wonderful experience tonight at this restaurant. The sign in front looked much better than most businesses on that stretch of road, so I pulled in. But then the entrance was dark and not so inviting, and I couldn't see anyone going in or going out, despite many cars in the lot. I went in anyways, but I can see why some wouldn't. The owner, I would guess, welcomed me and a really nice young man gave me choice of table, and did a great job making sure that I was taken care of. He brought f.o.c. yummy nachos and salsa and the Corona that I ordered, and he suggested the Texas fajitas, which was a great choice. Service was quick and attentive, the food serve quickly and hot, portion was big and the food taster really good. Owner also came to see t hat all was perfect. The bill was brought promptly, and price was more than reasonable...under $20, so I gave a good tip! I'll return whenever I'm in town.

Wow. Just wow. This has to be the sorriest excuse for Mexican food I have EVER had! The "enchiladas" (because that's what they had the nerve to call them) were flour tortillas, unseasoned meat and tomato sauce. Horrible. To top it off, our waitress looked like she rolled out of bed and barely made it in for her shift... Heffa looked dirty! But here's the kicker: When I tried to send back the beef enchilada she told me that if I did (as opposed to just eating that nasty crap or exchanging it) that she would have to pay for it. Then proceeded to bring out her running totals for the food that had been sent back! That blew me. I'm just glad I'm not the one who paid for this foolishness.

Horrible service. Believe my friends and I were in a community which doesn't accept outsiders much. It's like these Hispanics were brain washed into caring for ignorant locals being one chimed in, rudely, to a conversation we were having with the manager. It took over an hour to get food for only 3 individuals yet two families came in after us and the groups were larger, yet, they received their food first. Then the manager had the nerve to offer us coupons......? As if!!! We won't be back dude!!

The Shrimp Queso didn't come with any lettuce, sour cream, beans or rice which isn't usually the case for "Real" Mexican joints. Had to pay extra even for freaking sour cream! The service was subpar and at the end our waitress saw a few dollars laying on the table and yelled " Is that mine?" smh... Didn't even wait til we left hunting for a tip. Food was pretty good but I won't be returning. Just didn't feel the true Mexican vibe that I'm used to! Still looked like Red Lobster inside. Prices weren't that bad though!

Ok, so definitely very reasonably priced! Cheap Food and Liquor... The food was ok, so if you want your cheap Mexican restaurant this one is for you.. the food is ok.. not the best but the price is cheap.

Came here in January for cheap food and good drinks. Our dinner was ruined by the noise of remodeling work performed in the back. Saws and hammers do not = romantic ambiance. Food was decent. The kitchen was blazing fast (entrees & drinks for a 15+ party in under 20 minutes!). However the quesadillas were a little dry. You get what you pay for here.

A friend and myself decided to somewhere for lunch and both agreed on mexican food. We ended up at El Nopal located in College Park. I've always noticed this place but never eaten here before. Its in the location of the old Red Lobster. Very packed on Sundays since its one of the few places that serve alcohol in the area on Sundays. It can be very seedy looking at sometimes with the adult novelty shop right next door, a tattoo parlor on the other side and a strip club right across the street. Upon entering we were seated and greeted almost immediately by our friendly waitress and given the typical small appetizer of chips and salsa that most mexican restaurants offer. The menu is all over the place and too extensive to really make a quick decision on what to eat. They have way too many combinations and from experience when you have something like that going on when they are busy it probably takes forever to get the food out. Because of the inside decor and the lack of patronage during the lunchtime hours I decided to keep this simple. I ordered a beef nachos(4.50) and chicken tenders with fries(7.00). I also order a Coors Light beer(3.50) to go with it. Didn't take long for the food to come but I was not impressed at ALL. The nachos were what I expected but was smothered in cheese. Who could have ever that you could put too much cheese on nachos. It was so cheesy it basically killed all the other flavors on the plate, thats it they even seasoned the beef but I could not tell. It was only handful of chips and they tasted stale and burned. The chicken tenders. Where do I begin. They were not tenders at all. They were about the size of McDonalds chicken nuggets, they brought me two packs of blue cheese, enough for two full salads and a plate of tenders aka nuggets that wasn't satisfactory enough to be classified as a kids meal. This was not worth the seven dollars at all and the waitress didn't bring the fries that went with the order. Sadly enough I had to push through and eat this sorry meal just to feel like I got my moneys worth. After telling the waitress about my fries she says "yes I know". So you didn't bother to correct the order and bring my fries? Which I'm glad she didn't considering the rest of the meal but her lack of accountability bothered me. So minus the fries the chicken was ($5.00). I paid left her a two dollar tip and left. I don't think I will be going back to this place no time soon if ever. If I seriously have to choose mexican from this area I'd would go with taco bell. At least I know what to expect.

What I ordered and what I got were not even close to the description or the other Mexican joints I have been to. We had to chase down the waitress to refill the drinks. Decent chips and salsa. The place was a ghost town at 1200 on a Thursday. This place has it's days numbered.

The food is very cheap, but kind of blend. I had the chicken quesadilla (spell check) and it was ok just wish it had so more flavor. I was going to give this place two stars because while I was eating with my family, two people came to my table and openly try to sell me air fresheners for a $1. I was so angry. This is why I don't like going to resturants in Black neighborhoods (FYI I live in the area). But the saving grace was that my brother left his cell phone at the table and the waitress called the contacts to search for him to give it back. Just for that I will go back, but bringing taco seasoning..

El Nopal is like the hidden gem that's in the hood! It's over on Old Nat..yeah everyone has heard about that street but it's very safe..no stragglers outside of the restaurant..the food is AMAZING..they have changed their meat seasoning and it is wonderful..chips tasty..dip as well..and its one of the cheaper spots. Compared to over hype places like Uncle Julios who charge an arm and a leg and it's not even authentic..around 8ish it does turn into a "slightly" urban scene..but who cares..i come for the FOOD! def try it out.

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
