Looking for vegan options in the Atlanta Metro area? Dulce Vegan is worth a visit. This little cafe serves up a whopping dose of authentic southern hospitality with a smile, and don't forget the sugar! The next time I'm in Atlanta, I plan on a return visit.

This is the kind of place that vegans dream of. I couldnt ask for more than a sausage & cheese biscuit for breakfast, except maybe a cupcake for dessert (dessert after breakfast is allowed here). Ducle Vegan delivers the goods and their menu is 100% vegan. I have been several times now but cannot seem to stray from the breakfast sandwich. It's just so damn good. I usually (always) get a dessert as well. I have tried their cupcakes and some sort of cookie. I ate it too fast to notice what kind it was but it was delish. I also really enjoy their coffee! They do offer plenty of lunch food items if you're not in the mood for breakfast. The cafe is on the smaller side but I have always been able to find seating, so no big deal. I wouldnt say that this place is really bustling or crowded like other breakfasty spots in ATL but this is a plus to me. Vegan or not, check this place out!

I didn't come to the Dulce Vegan Bakery for savoury food, no siree! I came here for the vegan baked goods. I had been obsessing over their facebook page for a while, looking at all the pictures of delicious looking baked goods. I made two trips but would almost certainly be a regular if I lived in Atlanta. The Dulce Vegan bakery is in a part of town I hadn't yet explored but seemed pretty nice. Parking was easy in the lot right next door. The first time I visited I went with my sister-in-law and two friends. Service was friendly, fast and efficient. One friend opted for a coffee as they had just eaten something at home, another chose the the breakfast biscuit with vegan bacon and the lavendar soya latte and two of us went for the cinnamon buns. I got a cappuccino with soya milk. The coffee was fine, the milk didn't curdle which was the most important thing. The cinnamon bun on the other hand was indescribably good; moist, flavoursome and decadent. It was also humungous, I thought I wouldn't finish it but it was just too good. I tried the lavendar latte-not my thing to flavour coffee but interesting. My friends enjoyed their food. My second visit was unaccompanied, other than a couple of books. I got a maple and pecan scone and a soya milk chai latte. I like the fact that you are given a choice of milk alternatives (soya, coconut, almond and hemp) to maintain a bit of diversity in your diet! The scone was pretty nice though I should have asked for some jam as it was a bit dry. The chai latte was perfect. If I were to come again (I will do for sure again one day) I would try out one of the cheese cakes. 5 stars for delicious ethical cinnamon buns and chai latte.

Awesome Vegan Bakery! Dulce is a great place to grab brekky, a snack like cupcakes to share with friends or even have a custom cake made! I love their spicy chocolate cupcakes and savory scones. They also make amazing vegan cheesecakes and a a whole spectrum of vegan desserts. Definitely worth the drive to Dulce!

This place is just lovely. The breakfast/lunch options are delish and the coffee is excellent. I stopped in for a quick lunch during my last visit to Atlanta. I tried the Reuben sandwich with a side of chickpea + lentil soup. To finish off the meal, I had a vanilla cupcake with chocolate frosting (plus crushed hazelnuts on top!) and a vanilla soy latte. My dining partner(s) had the black bean burger with a side of apple-fennel slaw. Each of us agreed that our dishes were outstanding. The whole experience fortified me for the ensuing drive to Montgomery later that afternoon. In addition to great food, Dulce has a friendly staff and a nice dining atmosphere. The next time I'm in Atlanta, I'll be sure to return. I hear the breakfast sandwich is awesome.

Very nice coffee and bake shop in a great location! Stopped by this morning before heading to the airport. I enjoyed a lavender latte with a lemon scone. It seemed like the cinnamon rolls are the best item on the menu since everyone waited for the fresh batch. Hopefully I'll enjoy it during my next visit to Atlanta. The staff was also great!

A friend of mine had raved about this place in Kirkwood forever. I am not vegan or vegetarian and so I didn't quite buy her enthusiasm (she's literally the president of veganism--so clearly I thought she was slightly biased) But Dulce is gooood. Dulce is beyond good. I had the chai latte with coconut milk, and I also had a lemon tart from the bakery. I loved that I could have my chai with coconut milk. THE perfect blend of flavors. The tart was scrumptious and I basically ate her almond croissant. For a non vegan I was worried that the barista would judge me for my lack of knowledge and my plethora of questions but she wasn't. Service is just as great as the food and their very knowledgeable on their produce. I walked away feeling like if there was a Dulce on every corner I could take a stab at veganism--oh well! :)

I was excited to find this place and try it out. They were friendly, other than that I wasn't impressed. Maybe I are the wrong thing or went at the wrong time, but it was not very good. I had a cinnamon roll and it was dry and tasted like it was made a week ago. My friend had a cupcake that was decent, but nothing special.

This has quickly become our new go-to brunch spot. Everything is vegan! They have THE BEST cinnamon rolls, I haven't had a chance to try any of their other pastries, because cinnamon rolls. For brunch I've tried the Mediterranean Plate and that TLT sandwich (tempeh bacon). Both were SO GOOD. I haven't had a good sandwich like that since going vegan almost a year ago, it really hits the spot. They have this chipotle aioli that's super delicious also. Can't wait to go back!

Clean, cute, cozy, and super yummy. Vegan breakfast sandwiches aren't super common and they offer pretty much any kind you could want, with a huge smile.

Ok, so this place is ridiculously cool. It is likes little retro cafe, where you order at the counter and then there is a long bench with little tables and chairs. They have lots to choose from along the lines of coffee and teas, or signature hot drinks. Breakfast has pastries, fruit and granola parfait like options, and build your own breakfast sandwiches. I built the tower of awesomeness on a biscuit with tofu egg, tempeh bacon, chipotle aioli, avocado, greens, and tomato! The service was very attentive and courteous! The chef even answered a bunch of questions about how she accomplished the flavors with various ingredients...very thoughtful and helpful!

Bummer, visiting from Indianapolis and drove here only to find that the bakery is closed to the public. They do still take phone orders.

What an amazing place! I've never had a bad experience here, and have tried everything on the menu including the specials, drinks, soups. and probably each of the baked goods at least twice. We recently got out wedding cupcakes from Dulce, and everyone in attendance raved about them- didn't even know they were vegan until we told them! I wish I could recommend specific things, but you just have to go... Breakfast sandwiches, cakes, savory sandwiches, space heater coffee...and gluten free goodness too. Thank you, Dulce!

I can't wait for these guys to reopen. So nice to have in the neighborhood--delicious breakfast sandwiches (the Angela is amazing: vegan bagel with vegan cream cheese, cucumber, kale and tomato), yummy baked goods (lemon scone is great), Yerba mate and coffees, and a friendly staff.

I got lost trying to find this gem, but luckily there were locals walking around! It's located in between the strip brick looking building. Anyways, thanks to my fellow yelpers, I walked in well informed of what to order and what to expect. My hub, a true carnivore, had the breakfast sandwich , which I made with an English muffin topped with soysauge, cheese, eggs, and bacon..for extras I chose avocado and chipotle aioli..He loved it. #Do it! Thanks me laters. For me I ordered the yogurt and quinoa which came with a side off their apricot jam(use all of the jam!)..YUM! So refreshing, light, fulfilling, chewy, rich and hit the spot. I also got one of the coconut cupcakes... OhMyLanta.. The best vegan cupcake I ever had..! Scratch that....THE BEST CUPCAKE I'VE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. My hub got the sweet potato slice of pie covered with pecans..yum! It hit all the savory spots right on and wasn't overly sweet. Such a nice experience . Next time I'm in town, I'll definitely have to swing by. I Recommend this gem Big time!

Everything here is Vegan! Everything! If you are fasting or living a vegan lifestyle this is a wonderful dining choice in Kirkwood. The desserts are moist and flavorful and the meals I have enjoyed here have all been good. It is a quaint little shop with seating for around 25 I would say and some outdoor seating as well.

This place had some great breakfast items. They had super friendly staff and a fun selection of breakfast pastries. For myself I tried the vegan coconut yogurt parfait and my husband tried a fresh baked cinnamon roll. Both were great!

This is my go to Vegan spot for dessert! I haven't met a cupcake that I didn't like. I recently tried the cinnamon roll which has always been sold out during past visits. Dulce does not disappoint when it comes to vegan sweet treats. I haven't yet tried the food but I will definitely give it a try!

Cupcake oh sweet cupcake. Dear God moist cupcake. Not crumbly soft cupcake. Why my elation for a cupcake, I am a wheat free person. So I have dreams of soft yummy bread items that I usually can't have....fear not my wheat intolerrent buddies I've found a little slice of heaven in town. Kirkwood, you have created a monster. My comfort food spot. First a stop at la petit marchet then a walk down the street for a sweet delight...oh heavenly cupcake. Creamy frosting. Somebody better be going to Kirkwood soon...I'm gonna need one of these tomorrow. I digress. This sweet little spot is just that little. When you walk in the door bam it's in your face yummy treats and delights the hipsters behind the counter are cool, but in the two times I'd been there didn't exactly seem pleased to see me LOL. Maybe I was giving off a vibe, I can do that you know, everyone has their days. You have to park out front there may be some parking behind this spot but I hate searching so I end up in front of the dog training place next door. If you walk to fast you will pass this place, so I feel kinda in the know when I go directly to it. "I'm part of the in crowd." Final thoughts Seems like a cool place for carry out. The items see mnemonic to be baked with love, have a ginger tea...that is if you lime ginger.

When there are reliable, wonderful vegan restaurants, a vegan/vegetarian couple can go and order from the menu without concern. Dulce is such a place. A vegan bakery and cafe with great build-your-own breakfast sandwiches. Try bacon egg and avocado with greens and chipotle aioli on an English muffin. French press coffee, organic teas, scones and cupcakes with flavors like lavender, blackberry, and ginger. Great quiet small space for a Sunday morning. We happily commute here from West Cobb. Wonderful. Oh, and do not miss the cinnamon rolls. Really. Don't.

What is there not to like?? I mean, really. As a new vegan, this place is so worth the drive. I live about 35 minutes from the bakery, but find myself longing for a vegan baked good or lunch from Dulce. So, when I have time, I will drive over and it is always worth it. Not only are the baked goods sweet, but one of the sweetest and my favorite part of the bakery, are the sweet, kind, and friendly staff. Those girls make my day when I walk in. They are always cheerful and just precious ladies. They are so helpful and always have a kind word. It seems to me that they love helping others through nourishing and cruelty free food, but to have an experience that also makes the soul smile. I love Dulce and I am so glad to have a place like this in Atlanta, even if it means a little bit of a drive for me. Thank you for all you do.

As far as Vegan Atlantans go, I would move to Kirkwood just so this could be my morning coffee spot. They have anything a non vegan would want for a hungover breakfast on the weekend or a sober early morning commute breakfast on the run. They start serving lunch at 11 and all the sandwiches are under $10. They also have a lot of GF options!

Finally returned & got to try new things. The sausage/egg/cheese biscuit was delicious, but very tall! I'd recommend sticking to 2 fillings or getting bacon instead of sausage, unless you're able to unhinge your jaw. Also had a cinnamon roll (can't go wrong with that) and some hummingbird cake. Don't judge, I didn't eat it all in one sitting. I really adore Dulce. Expand to Augusta? Please?

Small, mini-menu, but what's on it---fantastic! :D I enjoyed a sausage, egg, & cheese (vegan, of course) breakfast sandwich on English muffin--which is more like a perfect, moist biscuit. NOTE: They serve breakfast all day which is a BONUS!! I nibbled on the English muffin first to see if it was good on it's own and I almost wanted to dump the sandwich out and just eat that! Delicious! Then I took a full bite and was surprised because it was SPICY! WTH? I determined it was the sausage and promptly removed it... and now, folks, we have the perfect breakfast egg & cheese sandwich. Sooooo good! You won't be thinking vegan when you're eating this beautiful sandwich. You'll be scarfing it down forgetting to chew until liquid! Mind your manners! I was pleased to find that they had a nice list of loose leaf teas--I had a cup of my traditional green--*liquid jade*--heavenly! The service was good, the girl at the counter was very sweet. When she brought my plate over, i was wiping crumbs off the table--she promptly grabbed a squirt bottle and rag and cleaned it up for me. Lastly: we finished this fine meal off with a delectable treat... the vanilla on vanilla cupcake. You can't go wrong here. But DO keep in mind that the word VEGAN doesn't mean healthy... so try to reign yourself in on the sugar high. :P

Amazing. Don't leave without a cupcake. Get it to-go though, your boyfriend/fiancé will figure out that it is vegan if you take him there. In his words, "This is the best cupcake I've ever had!!" "It's vegan." "This cupcake is gross!" He's wrong, they are totally awesome. Their menu is small but that's good because it means everything on it is made with care and tastes excellent. I wish they were in a better location where there were less homeless people hanging out around here. As a lady the outside neighborhood is a little too rape-y for me.

This place was very cute and the woman behind the counter (owner?) was super friendly and accommodating. I'm not a vegan, but I enjoyed everything that I had there, it's just good stuff. While I was there, a woman and her mom were picking up a HUGE order for some kind of event, and they were squealing over everything in their boxes. Good sign!

So, I'm not vegan. Or vegetarian. And I only vaguely understand the implications and constraints of not using or consuming animal products. I've been meaning to adventure into Kirkwood more often and give this place some lovin', and thankfully the barista did not mind me asking genuine but ignorance-revealing questions when I arrived today like, "So... of all the pastries you have displayed, what's the most 'vegan' one you have? Like, the one that I would *definitely* not be able to normally eat at a non-vegan coffeeshop in its non-vegan form." I ended up with a carrot cake cupcake with vanilla frosting ($2.75; delicious but small, but the delectable frosting made up for that flaw) and a coffee of the day ($2) and thought that I was going to limit my dumb questioning to a grand total of one. Then I realized that they didn't have sugar substitute packets, only brown packets of Sugar in the Raw and something yellowish in a clear plastic bottle which turned out to be agave nectar (I asked). Another look at the drink condiments counter and I realized: there's no milk or cream, 'cuz DUH everything is vegan. Perhaps the baristas have to deal with newbs like me all the time and they've gotten good at allaying our fears, because when I sheepishly (nyuk nyuk nyuk) asked whether they had milk substitutes, she opened the fridge door to show me that they had regular soy milk, vanilla soy milk, Rice Dream, and coconut milk. Score! Dulce Vegan has a great space: it's open, airy, large, and peaceful. They need some art on the walls, though; it's a little sparse. Having only visited there once, I'm not sure what the scene normally is, but I read my two fellow patrons as fitting the "hipster-indie women's studies student" profile. Which don't get me wrong, I'm all down with. But maybe they could sense my non-veganism and were giving me the evil eye, social justice style. This place is real cute and I'm all for socially conscious consumption, but it just doesn't make it into the four-star category for me. Four-star means "HOLY CRAP I CANNOT WAIT TO GO BACK THERE!" But Dulce Vegan is definitely someplace one ought to try at least once.

While I am not vegan, I still really enjoy the food, atmosphere and coffee at Dulce Vegan! The first time I came here, I got the egg and cheese biscuit and a coffee. Both were delicious - vegan cheese is not for everyone, but for vegan cheese this was the bomb. They use quality coffee, the staff is nice and friendly and your food comes out fast. Their baked goods are to die for and all the scones and muffins I've tried from them have been excellent. In a great little part of town and good for both vegans and non-vegans.

So we ordered a cake from Dulce for my sister-in-law's baby shower during the Christmas holidays and a few days before the event, I called them to add one more cake for my mom's surprise birthday party. The lady on the phone was extremely professional and even though I called them at the last minute, they went above and beyond to accommodate my requests. The lady making the cakes came in extra early on the day of pickup to make the additional cake. The cakes were delicious and were a big hit at both events. I definitely recommend Dulce. They're pretty amazing!

I'm no vegan, but dang I love this place. Popped in for a lunch meeting and was greeted with some super sweets peeking at me from behind the glass. I swear the cinnamon roll was screaming my name. Knowing I had to eat "real" food before I could have dessert (thanks, Mom) I ordered the tempeh, lettuce, and tomato sandwich. Heaven in a sandwich. Super fresh ingredients, and the bread was some of the best I've ever had. The cinnamon roll was as good as my eyes wanted it to be. The cafe itself is kind of basic and bare boned, and (at least on the day I was there) extremely warm. They've got wifi but I wouldn't necessarily consider it a comfy place to while away the hours. Plus, you'll scarf your food down in seconds so may as well just eat there and then head elsewhere.

I'm torn in writing this review because I really liked on half of this place but the other half...not so much. We were out of town and came here for lunch based on it's yelp reviews. The lunch part was not great. I had the chickpea curry soup which was really good but my chickpeas were crunchy and underdone. I also had the orange walnut salad...good but not memorable. My husband had the tomato soup an red pepper hummus sandwich which was under seasoned and just didn't have enough oomph. Something definitely missing. THEN we had the desserts. A chocolate cookie, pumpkin chocolate chip muffin and someone else had a cupcake...all amazing! The baked goods got a five but the lunch itself was a 2 or 3. I bumped the review to four because they do have amazing service and I think the menu is going in the right direction...it just needs a little bit of help.

I honestly would have given 5 stars but I didnt like that I had to wait 10 minutes for them to count out their cash drawer before I could pay. On the up side my cupcakes were pretty much the best cupcakes I've ever had. Period. I got a double chocolate something and a chocolate coconut and let me tell you, im pretty happy right now. In the future I will try their food, but cupcakes were the reason I came. Happy birthday to me!

I was a bit sad when the coffee shop that was formerly here shut down but very pleased when this gem popped up! Definitely a go-to if you're in the area. Pros: I can drink chai lattes here! Why? They have a variety of bases...other than soy (also an allergy). Almond, coconut, and hemp milk are all on the roster. AND they use Cabbagetown Chai! Not to mention their regular house brews have also been fairly good. The ladies who work here also get an A+ for customer service. Usually it's a very quiet place to get work done if I'm there midday. Cons: I can't eat a lot on the menu- they do have some gluten free options though like soups and salads but I'm normally there later in the day when my sweet tooth kicks in they only have a cupcake or two and some biscotti that's gf.

So happy to find a vegan restaurant in the area while I was visiting. This place is very quaint and has an artsy feel to it. The desserts looked amazing displayed on the shelves and I wanted to try them all! I've tried the lavender chocolate chip scone which was nice and soft and delicious and the cardamom cupcake which hit so many spots. Their coffee is good and you can have you choice of alt. milk! YAY. Their sandwiches- breakfast and lunch- are fantastic and made to order. The girls who work there are always very friendly and nice to my boyfriend and me. I love this place, I'll give them all my $. The downside is that it gets pretty pricey but it's all vegan and delicious so I don't mind paying extra for it.

Nope. Went in for breakfast and they had some older looking biscuits or bread like things, they did not have the cinnamon buns or really anything that looked appetizing. I ended up with a 4 dollar hot chocolate that wasn't worth it. Went to dunkin donuts for breakfast!

Disclaimer: First, I'm neither vegan nor even a vegetarian. Second, I'm not likely to look for qualities in a coffee houses that most do (more on this below). Regarding their coffee and food: very good stuff, even for a carnivore who appreciates the herbivore life. Breakfast sandwiches (served on a muffin, bagel, or biscuit) are VERY good and hearty, as are their excellent soups. Chai is okay, cider is moderately good, same with their coffee. Their pastries are good, but c'mon, real milk makes everything better. :) Now here's where the rubber meets the road for me: Coffee houses are places I go to get work done. This place also happens to be where my creative group meets. Overall, it is low key, has a solid amount of natural light, and high ceilings. The perfect place to work on a project.

I have been running into this duo for years at all sorts of events and vegan bake sales, so it came as no surprise (when I walked in for my wedding cake appointment) that I immediately recognized the owners! I was sold right away- I have been enjoying their vegan Twinkies, cupcakes, cookies for years, so I knew they would be the perfect people to make our wedding cake! We met with them, my parents came along, and we sampled a few different cake styles. My carnivore, and diabetic dad, was only allowed a bite or so of each sample, but we caught him sneaking crumbs off of our plates. That is a testament to how incredible their baking skills are! We ended up with (my all time favorite) mint chocolate cake, and I brought them in an idea of what I wanted, a Marimekko pattern, and they laughed, then brought out the same exact patterned Marimekko tea towel from the back! Perfect! So they already owned a sample of what I wanted on my cake! They are in the process of opening a spot in Kirkwood, and in addition to their fantastic vegan baked goods, they will also have soups, salads, and sandwiches made with organic, local, and seasonal ingredients. They say they will also have a full range of teas, coffee and espresso drinks. Opening day should be soon. Heck. Yes.

Overall amazing- went for breakfast and their breakfast sandwiches were incredible (homemade, warm English muffins and bagels). The kids loved the English muffins with jam. The lattes were incredible and we had a spectacular lemon pound cake type thing

I'm not vegan or even vegetarian but I love this place! Their baked goods are incredible, especially the wide variety of cupcakes. The day old cupcakes are cheaper than the fresh-baked ones and still very delicious. I also get their bagels a lot, and even though I think they only have plain and everything, I just cannot get enough of the everything bagel. The plain vegan cream cheese is the only flavor they have but I think it is just as good as real cream cheese, yum. I've also been pleased with their sandwiches (both the lunch variety and the "egg" and "cheese" biscuit were great). My favorite savory item, though, might be the grit cakes with roasted tomato and avocado, which are seriously amazing. The coffee is very good (batdorf & bronson dancing goats blend), though it seems they are often out of it and need to make a new pot, which is OK with me and they at least warn you. They have all sorts of vegan milks but I tend to have my coffee black, and it is good enough for that. Sometimes I get a latte or other specialty drink with coconut milk, which is good but maybe not quite as nice as it would be with real milk, but this place is vegan after all! I saw that they now have an assortment of vegan popsicles but I have yet to try any. Free wifi with password and plenty of power plugs. It's usually not that hard to find a street parking spot nearby and the spots are roomy. They have about two patio tables outside which are pleasant when available.

So good you'll want to pack up things at home and move in next door. I tried the following cupcakes: Banana Chocolate Chip w/Chocolate Frosting, Mocha, Lemon - one each with frosting of Lemon, Strawberry. My favorite cupcake was the lemon with strawberry frosting. These cakes are moist and the frostings are amazing, unlike some I've had that taste like pure sugar. That aside, I also had a cinnamon roll. When I purchased it, she told me to heat it up a bit and it will be gooey. Very glad a took that advice (admittedly I ate some before heating the rest and it is good either way). In fact, this cinnamon was even yummier than the cupcakes! (even though I picked out the raisins, which are luckily not baked into the dough but just mixed into the cinnamony goodness between layers. I can not wait to return to Atlanta; ahh, if only I lived closer!

So while still in their soft opening, they've got more yummy baked goods in their displays and I got to try their tofurkey sandwich for dinner the other evening. Having never had tofurkey, and not being a huge tofu fan, I had my doubts. . . .but it was a really delicious sandwich. Slices of tofurkey were covered in a red cabbage and fennel slaw with slices of apple on a yummy soft bread roll. Really good, didn't miss the meat at all! I also grabbed a cinnamon roll from their display, it was huge, moist and decadent! SO GOOD! I never used to understand how vegans could stand giving up meat and dairy. . .but if they eat like Dulce Vegan they are eating really really well!

The sausage biscuit was ok. The sausage was a tad dry and crumbled. The biscuit was pretty good. I added agave to it. The chipotle aioli was very spicy but good. I'll give it another shot, the bacon might be better.

Chicken Salad Sandwich ($8.50) - made with tempeh, almonds and cranberries. Literally the best sandwich I've had. I'm not kidding. They still are usually out of half the menu by lunch time but what they have is out of this world.

My current fav for weekend breakfast. You can't beat their sausage egg & cheese breakfast sandwich on an english muffin. Holy not-an-animal. To be honest, I haven't had much more because I can't stop eating that damned sandwich! The last time I got a chicken salad sandwich to save for dinner, & ended up eating it about an hour after the breakfast because it looked so good & I couldn't stop thinking about it. Afterwards I was miserably full, but with a huge smile on my face. Typing this makes me want a sandwich...

A wonderful part of the vegan scene of Atlanta! I discovered this place through yelp, and thus I discovered Kirkwood. Such an eclectic neighborhood and from Dulce Vegan, you can have a perfect view of the beautiful fire station. Really, the fire station is beautiful. I started coming here for the cupcakes, and have since expanded for breakfast and want to come for lunch some weekend. Their cupcakes are perfectly moist and a great size. The flavor varies on the day, so don't have your heart set on something. The breakfast sandwich also had great flavors, especially with the aioli. There's also a large selection of teas. The service is a little unpredictable, probably because not many patrons are inside usually.

Love this place! I ordered a few dozen for my birthday a while back and the process was very easy! I ordered and paid over the phone and picked them up 2 weeks later when I needed them! Quick, easy, and delicious.

my boyfriend thinks we're in a monogamous relationship--and we were...until i came here. now, i can't think of anything else except all that glorious vegan food! torn between a lunch and breakfast option, i went with the vegan egg, bacon, and cheese biscuit. sadly, they were out of biscuits, but the wonderful employee suggested i try their homemade sourdough english muffins. (the bagels are also homemade). it was divine. i eat like a rabid wolverine anyway, but i may've set a new record with this one. it was gone in possibly 4 fairly unladylike, yet blissful, bites. also, their english muffins are about twice as big as regular ones, so this isn't a small sandwich. you'll likely need to share a cinnamon roll because they're only slightly smaller than a mini cooper countryman. better still, they're soft on the outside and topped with the creamiest drizzle and chock full of raisins and gooey cinnamon goodness on the inside. cinnabon can suck it. the inside's a little small, but who really cares? with food and service this good, i surely don't. i will definitely be back, and will likely dream of little else until then.

I really need to have a Dulce closer to my house. This place is truly a great find for me. I returned and this time secured a ginger cookie and a nice, light and airy iced lemon scone. I would fight you for that ginger cookie. Seriously. It was that good. I bet if you took a dozen of those to a potluck and didn't mention where you got them from, no one would ever guess they are vegan. The ginger cookie is moist, and has just enough of the ginger flavor. It's a perfect way to chase a meal or to enjoy with a cup of coffee or tea. I saved the scone for the next day and had it with my morning cup of coffee. Very tasty and it still tasted fresh even though it was a day old. I will say that I'm not sure about all of the desserts here. My co-worker had a chocolate cookie and while she ate it all, she didn't seem enthused about it. But, she ate it, so figure that one out? I'm looking forward to returning to Dulce.

Love this place. Both the food and the staff are great. Delish local chai from Cabbagetown. I wish I didn't live across the country so I could go there every day!

I want to move in next door to this place! They have amazing food and coffee as well as desserts. I met a (non-vegan) friend here for lunch one day and we had the most amazing meal. I got a TLT (tempeh bacon-lettuce-tomato) sandwich with the apple-fennel slaw, a lavender chocolate chip scone, and coffee with soy creamer. If my meal sounds too exotic for you, they have more standard-fare sides, desserts, and meals, too. I forget what my friend got, but she raved about how tasty everything was. Delicious, high-quality, and most of all, ethical. Their all-vegan, all-organic menu changes based on what's seasonal and local. The location is in a new-to-me area of Atlanta, and I found it appears to be a mostly residential neighborhood, with lots of free street parking. I felt comfortable getting there, parking, and walking a short distance to the restaurant by myself. I'll be making the trip back up to Dulce as often as I can!

Everything here is vegan and delicious. Lots of sweet treats but don't forget about the lunch and newly added breakfast items. My favorite sweets: Apple tart, cinnamon roll, cupcakes The "chicken" salad with homemade crackers is amazing. The TLT (tomato, lettuce and tempeh) is tasty. The lentil soup is delicious (not always available) as are the customizable breakfast sandwiches. Their menu varies daily but most items stay the same. Though I give it 5 stars it has 2 flaws: Its hours during the week (closes at 6pm) and its prices are slightly high.

The cakes are unbelievably good for both vegans and non vegans. The last time I ordered the (vegan) german chocolate cake for the birthday girl who is vegan, all of the non-vegan birthday party attendees could not believe that the cake was vegan. I'd love to tell you how great it was too but I actually didn't get to get a bite before it was devoured and gone! As of today, I just placed another order for 3 small 6" speciality cakes for sampling for another birthday party. The staff is always friendly and accommodating and the vegan cakes are sure to be the talk of the party!

One of the best vegan spots in Atlanta. I dine here several times a week. Excellent service and the food is too good. Also, PATRONS, please realize this is a small operation, Leave your bad attitudes and ridiculous requests at the door.

Delicious vegan baked goods and yummy veggie sandwiches are served with a hot cup of coffee or tea in a friendly, colorful atmosphere. That's Kirkwood's Dulce Vegan. The almond scone is especially delicious. What a great addition to Kirkwood! I can't wait until they're open full time.

was in Atlanta for work and ended up going to this fine vegan place, though I am not a vegetarian but here and there i do try vegan food. Have to admit that it was one of the best vegan food i have ever tried in my life. I was recommended to try the the tempeh, lettuce and tomato sandwich. It tasted like full of nutrition and ingredients felt very fresh. I also tried their ginger cookie and it tasted very good.

Dulce Vegan is awesome!! They make great, tasty sandwiches and their desserts are not ones to miss! And if you have a special event and need a cake or cupcakes, don't pass them up. The ladies at Dulce Vegan made a cake for my husband's birthday/graduation celebration. I gave them a few ideas for the decoration in addition to the desired cake flavor and they did an awesome job! The artwork was amazing and we felt like we were looking at a painting. The cake was moist and so yummy! Even the non-vegans loved it and scarfed it down. Wished they were in Midtown but well worth heading over to Kirkwood (which isn't very far) whenever we get a chance to indulge in their yummy sandwiches and baked goods! Love this place!!

Dulce Vegan Bakery and Cafe has phenomenal sandwiches (breakfast and lunch), salads, teas, and baked goods. I have not tried their coffees yet, but I am sure they are equally impressive. My husband, who is still a vegetarian and once meat lover, adores the TLT sandwich, as do I. I highly recommend this restaurant to all patrons searching for delicious food in a relaxing atmosphere!

Dulce Vegan is great! Atlanta was in desperate need of a cute vegan coffee shop/bakery/sandwich place. It reminds me of a smaller S'Nice (located in NYC). The staff is always smiling and friendly. All of the food and baked goods are absolutely delicious! Also-Try their "Dirty Chai Latte" because it's amazing. Thank you Dulce Vegan for existing and for being so good! PS- I also love the vegan art work on the walls and I appreciate the use of Dr Bronners soap in the bathroom!!!

KeithKNOWS, been there, Ate There! If you are searching for a place that's 100% vegan, using organic local/regional ingredients, I've found it for you. I've always enjoyed Dulce's desserts, so I finally went to their location in Kirkwood to try their food. It's a cozy, quaint spot with plenty of warm atmosphere. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich, made with tempeh and a hearty soup. My guest who happens to be vegan, enjoyed the chickpea sandwich, we were both satisfied with our delectable choices. Dulce also offer guests, soups, salads, sandwiches, teas, coffees, soy free, and nut free options. So the next time you are in Kirkwood, stop by and try their Hummingbird cupcake, you'' love it!

This place is just the cat's meow. Second time coming here, both for lunch. I've tried the TLT sandwich, the balsamic tofu sandwich carrot ginger soup, and a lemon scone. Everything, seriously, has been amazing! In fact, I have a cupcake that's currently waiting for me in the kitchen and I'm sure that is going to be quite fantastic as well. Service here is great. It's a small shop and you order at the counter and can pay either then or later. I suggest you pay after because chances are you'll need to grab a dessert to go for later. I wish Dulce was located closer to where I am because it sure is great to be able to order anything and everything off of the menu.

  • Becky S.

I am not vegan by any means but when this place opened up near my house I went to check it out. I had a scone and iced tea. Both were fantastic! The scone was magically buttery and light. The tea was the perfect strength and just slightly sweet. I will definitely be back to check out their other offerings. Oh, and I am very concerned about trans fats and figured that a vegan bakery must have to use a ton of shortening in their baked goods, but I checked their website and it said they are trans-fat free. Yay!

I'm pretty much over Yelp, but this place needs some love. Shit is on point here. You're eating this stuff and it's like: damn this is tasty shit. Not: damn this is tasty for vegan food. and shit. Some of you may yearn for that rich taste of butter - and no you're not going to find that here. But the goods here are still very satisfying in their own right. You don't feel like you're eating some kind of recipe that has substitutes. Cakes and cookies and scones are all nice. Plus they have hemp milk. 5 stars for pulling off tasty vegan goods. Sevananda has decent offerings no doubt, but these are tastier. ps. Miwako you should take Jim here so you can write what he ate! oh I can't golly gosh darn wait!! pps don't be scared by possible limited offerings on display- they just opened. just try something- don't be afraid and walk out like a little bitch because there aren't mountains of baked goods spilling off the shelves or they don't have that EXACT thing you are looking for because you're used to going to fucking Burger King.

We stopped in for lunch and it was a great experience! While the menu was limited there was something for anyone - sandwich, salad, and a soup type dish. I had the Tempeh, Lettuce, Tomato - a play on a BLT. The tempeh was seasoned perfect and the chipolte aioli added great flavor. I did not go for the baked goods this time but the cinnamon rolls looked very tempting! Highly recommend if you are looking for a vegan wonderfulness!

Wonderful lunch fare at this small neighborhood bakery/cafe. The TLT (tempeh lettuce tomato) sandwich was incredible! Got two vegan cupcakes to go and, I am not lying when I say, they are best overall in Atlanta in my opinion. Usually, cupcakes are too sweet. These were just right. Especially the peanut butter one. My only complaint with this place is that the sandwiches are much too expensive and they do not come with a drink or side. Can I get a little bag of chips or cup of pasta salad?

I'm vegan, and part of the reason I love this place so much is kind of obvious -- I can eat everything on the menu! I don't have to worry about whether it's vegan or not because it all is! That being said, their baked goods are AMAZING. The English muffin they serve as a part of the breakfast sandwich reminds me more of a biscuit, but it's delicious. Their scones are TO DIE FOR! Cupcakes are awesome too. I haven't had any of their lunch items, but I'm not a huge fan of the breakfast sandwiches. Don't get me wrong -- I crave them and I get 2 every time I go. But I am very easy to please when it comes to food. I like it all if it's vegan. I enjoy the flavors of the breakfast sandwich, but let's just say it's not something I would give a non-vegan to introduce them to how yummy vegan food can be.

I have to say it does not live up to its reviews but it's definitely worth a stop if you are wanting a vegan baked treat and you're too lazy to bake it yourself. It was 1 o'clock when my son and I went to Dulce on 6/2/2012, so we didn't want anything too heavy on our stomachs, just a light lunch. We both tried the BLT with tempeh bacon. Now, again, it's 1 o'clock and it's extremely slow in the cafe with only one other patron sitting down working on a computer. There were two hipster girls behind the counter and one guy in the back cooking. The streets were nearly empty for some reason this weekend in Decatur so there was no excuse for one of the girls to tell us they didn't have enough chipotle aoli for both sandwiches. This created this odd 5 second pause where my son and I were looking at the girl and then at the cook who had just come out to deliver this grave news and back at her. I knew my son was thinking the same thing as I: well, MAKE SOME THEN!!!!!! But, no, they just looked at us, even though I'm pretty sure they make the aoli in shop, and it would simply mean taking chipotle chilies and vegenaise and mixing it in a processor. I felt like this was simply laziness. My son decided he'd take pesto on his sandwich instead. I also ordered a can of soda. The bill was nearly 17 dollars. The sandwiches simply weren't worth the cost. Not only could we not have what we wanted out of laziness from the cook but two little strips of tempeh does not a sandwich make. The ingredients were fresh and the bread they used was delicious but it was not toasted which took away from the texture of the sandwich. They skimped greatly on the tempeh with those two thin slips of fakon. My son then ordered a banana-vanilla cream cupcake for me which was really good and moist but would only have a wow factor if you never bake for yourself. It was nearly 3 bucks and was a mini cupcake. Again, if you never bake at home, this is more than okay, but if you are a good cook like I am, it's a bit jarring to pay 20 bucks for two skimpy un-toasted sandwiches, one can of soda and a mini cup cake. There was a tip jar to which I did leave a tip because one of the girls was exceptionally sweet and nice and brought my cupcake to the table. But besides that I was not that so impressed.

My favorite dessert is strawberry cupcakes. Or strawberry cake. Anyway, I love strawberries something fierce, and Dulce Vegan has cornered the market on strawberry-based goods in my book. I ordered a strawberry cake for my birthday, and it was the best strawberry cake of my life, hands down, vegan OR omni. My highly carnivorous parents-in-law loved it so much they snuck second slices, and then later ordered another strawberry cake for their non-vegan daughter. IT'S THAT GOOD. My omni husband loves their cinnamon rolls, and insists on them every time we go in. They also have a wickedly excellent tea selection, for all of my fellow tea snobs, and the owners know how to prepare it correctly.

It's a bakery and a cafe. But it's not really the best place for savory treats. I had lunch today and it was probably the least of my favorite vegan meals. That's not to say that it was bad, tasteless or anything like that, it's just that other restaurants do vegan, vegetarian and raw better. But their sweet treats aren't as good as this place either. The size of the place is great, but running a bakery and managing lots of produce and such must be hassle as this isn't the only bakery that doesn't do savory well. Having said that the LEMON POUND CAKE IS AWESOME!!! The baked goods are great. I guess if you really need something to balance out the sugar, the savory stuff works. I like the gals running the place and its has a great, neighborhood hangout vibe. It's a good location, great colors and all the things necessary to pass a great afternoon.

Fantastic baked goods! Amazing breakfast sandwiches (seriously, the 'sausage' tastes SO much like sausage. But cruelty free and healthier ;)! A MUST GO for vegans anywhere near Atlanta- worth a drive. They also always have great gluten free options and are VERY allergy friendly. I would recommend Dulce Vegan for those allergic to eggs or dairy...and everyone!

A new vegan and so excited about vegan versions of my favorite baked goods. Biscuits, Scones, and Cupcakes...Oh MY!! I met my (non vegan) friend for lunch and she enjoyed it just as much as I did. The "chicken" salad sandwhich was really tasty. I can't hardly wait to go back. I know the menu is limited but understand it changes weekly and I plan to go once or twice a month. So excited!!

The only reason I didn't put up 5 stars is because I haven't had a chance to try everything yet, ha ha ha. Dulce has fabulous vegan baked goods! I'm vegan, but I usually bring a non-vegan person with me to Dulce, and they are always wowed by the treats there. So happy they finally have a real brick and mortar place! I'm only concerned about my waistline . . .

It's so nice to walk into a place and not have to worry about finding something meatless to eat. While the selection at Dulce is limited, the food is terrific. The eggplant parm sandwich is quite tasty. It's not greasy, has the right amount of sauce, and just tastes darn good. The peach tempeh sandwich is good too, but it didn't have near as much flavor as the eggplant. The rolls for both sandwiches are surprisingly tasty, toothsome, and "normal." The only issue I have with the sandwiches is that they cost around $7 and they didn't come with any sides. A nice vegan cole slaw or potato salad served along with the sandwiches would have been nice. The ginger spice cookie is incredible--chewy, dense, and so flavorful. Dulce proves that butter and eggs don't need to be in cookies. The iced teas are great too; it's refreshing to have an iced tea that has some flavor. The cafe is cute, modern, and colorful. The staff is friendly and accommodating.

Disappointed! Since I left NYC a few years ago, I've been dying for some real vegan cake (like Vegan Treats) which is impossible to find in this area. There was all this buzz from my vegan friends about Dulce Vegan but it's a hike for me. I finally made it down there recently, craving a good slice of chocolate or vanilla or red velvet cake, or at least a cupcake. So I go in there (around 1pm) and in the case, there is a single slice of carrot cake (ugh) - the remnants from a whole cake - and no cupcakes. There were a few scones, a zucchini bread (ugh) and a gluten free cookie. I asked the girl if they had any more cakes available and she said she didn't know - they might - not now - but later. That's it? For a place that calls itself a BAKERY? I can't come back later because it's an hour drive. I bought a scone so I wouldn't feel like a complete failure, and some other gluten free bar thing that was supposed to taste like peanut butter, but tasted like bananas (::cries::). I left very unfulfilled, without my slice of cake or chocolate craving fix (my tab was $6 for two small things). I get how the vegan crowd likes to support each other and rave that other vegan establishments are "amazing," but this place doesn't earn it from me. Sorry.

Heck. Yes.

I made me first visit last week to dulce vegan bakery. I found it very nice and friendly. I ordered a chai on a cold day. It made me happy I will go back soon.

Sorry.

Cute little place. Best split pea soup ever. Tasty chickpea burger and coffee. Nice quiet place for lunch, worth seeking out.

Really. Don't.
