Decided to give this place another try after many years. I won't be going back again. The soup was greasy and usually fried rice has vegetables but, this rice was dry and sad.

Just ate at City Garden for the first time. Double cooked pork was awful. Almost inedible. The pork was burned but the cabbage was almost raw. I also ordered pot stickers which were limp and uninspired.

if you eat here, your fortune cookie should read :If chinese place give you fork instead of chopstick, is sign of poor quality and disrespect to food.

1st and last visit. The eggrolls were old and hard and overcooked and cold. Entree was disappointing and service was terrible!

I've eaten lunch at City Garden for quite some time. They have a very good lunch special that is your choice of entree, fried rice, egg roll, and a small soup. Always very quick. They never fail to top off your glass either (tipping helps!!). For take-out they are also quick. I would leave work and be there in 5 minutes and almost everytime my order was waiting for me. The Sunday brunch doesn't offer a huge selection, but there is plenty of what they put out, and it is fresh. Great CHicken wings and Hunan Chicken. Good soups. One of my favorite places...great wait staff. See you there!!

This ol' girl has some age to her, and the exterior shows it as the building looks a little run down. Just on the outskirts of downtown hapeville, this is your typical chinese restaurant with the chinese menu you've no doubt seen. You know the one...some form of deep fried sesame chicken, braised wings or general tso's chicken (marked spicy, but it's really not). Interior is clean enough but they weren't very busy. It was just 11am though, so i'll cut them slack there. Clean interior, not a large staff at all, maybe three people, with one being the cashier. I ordered the chicken with chinese vegetables, which comes with your choice of fried rice and either an egg roll or soup (no substitutions). Veggies weren't as crisp as i'd like and the chicken was just okay. I didn't eat the fried rice so I can't help you there, but I don't think I missed much. Eggroll was filled with cabbage and not much else, and the fortune cookie was fairly stale. Yep, i've definitely experienced better and I suspect this place has seen better days, but maybe I got the wrong dish or they weren't on their A game. It happens. Not to simply slam these guys, the portion sizes were pretty big and my order was just under $6. I may give these guys a second chance to see if they turn things around. I hope so.

I've been a customer for over 20 years because it's close to work. The place has changed hands a couple of times and continually gone downhill. The food isn't good, the service isn't good, I think they've seen the last of me. The only positive is, for what you pay, the portion sizes are fair.

Really good Chinese food,. They are quick and give generous portions. Their Shrimp lo mein is the best. Place looks really run down from the outside. And if you decided to go don't be turned away from the smell of the place once you open the door( it has a very unique aroma which I believe has to do with the age of the place).

This place has been around for about 20 years and is a staple for Hapevillians on that desparate night who resort to Chinese take-out. It's pretty good. There is nothing fancy or special about the food or the inside of the restaurant. It is just consistent, regular ole' Chinese food. I like the Hunan Chicken and Mongolian Beef. Oh and the crab ragoons are yummy. On Sundays they have a lunch buffet. I used to go with my family after church as a kid and loved it. The fried bananas were always part of the lunch buffet and are great.

I ordered delivery through the BeyondMenu app, and I was impressed with the prices. The delivery charge was only $2, the food arrived within 45 minutes, and the delivery driver was very polite. I was genuinely shocked by the large portions. The sesame chicken was actual solid chicken instead of nugget type filler meat. A small $2 order of Chinese donuts came with 10 and they were delicious! The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because the egg rolls were absolutely awful.

Funny but not funny. I'm not a fan of Chinese food because of the rumors of a lot of places being unsanitary. So when my boyfriends cousin came home with Chinese food I immediately began making jokes. Telling him his chicken looked like cat lol. Anyways he began to eat his soup and a minute later screamed out "OMG". I laughed and said "what theres a roach in your food?" When he walked over to show me the soup.... Behold a roach ! This place deserves to be shut down. Can't expect too much from a 2 star restaurant.

Ordered for delivery on a cold rainy night. They said it would take longer than it actually took to arrive. Service was friendly and efficient and food was really good and reasonably priced!

I really like the food here. Service is fast and very friendly. It is hard to get friends to come eat here because to be honest it looks like crap on the outside. But once they make it in the door they are usually fairly impressed with the food.

Never ever ever order from here if you are hungry now and don't want to eat super late. I ordered tonight while staying in a hotel from the hotels Room Service menu. I was quoted 30-35 minutes. About 1 hour and 35 minutes later I finally get my order. It was lukewarm and I only knew I was eating food because of texture and temperature unfortunately not from any flavor. The customer service is horrible. She said I was wrong and didn't care. Never again. I hope this place closes down forever. They have no business running a resturant.

I ordered from the "room service" menu, which was actually a third party vendor who takes orders for local restaurants. The Chinese food was serviced by this restaurant. i would certainly NOT recommend ordering food from them and if I had it to do over again, I would have driven or even walked down the street and eaten at McDs... and I NEVER eat at McDs! The Crab Rangoon was so overcooked it was nearly burnt, had no flavor in the filling and the only taste was that of the grease it was cooked in. The Seafood Soup was supposed to have scallops, shrimp, crab, lobster, calamari... However it was primarily over cooked vegetables in a red spicy broth and there was maybe 3 pieces of shrimp in a quart and very little else. The Noodles that came with the soup were delivered as a side item so they were cold, gummy and all stuck together. Usually Chinese food is a good value, but this was way overpriced and the bill for soup and an appetizer was over $25 with the $3 delivery fee included. This does not include the tip. Bottom line: the convenience of delivery to the Hampton Inn @ Atlanta Airport is not worth the price.

Unfortunately this is the only chinese food place in Hapeville. I was really in the mood for chinese food and decided to order from City Garden despite reading the reviews on here. I ordered sesame chicken with a shrimp egg roll. the sesame chicken ....I don't even think I tasted any chicken. the breading was so thick and the sauce has a strange after taste. the egg roll only had one piece of shrimp inside of it. but still tasted fine. the delivery was extremely fast, but I would never order here again.

It's really sad that this is the only Chinese place in Hapeville. The dishes are like a fast food chain was attempting to make Chinese food, with much worse results than expected. The chicken inside any deep fried dishes has the consistency of a McNugget, and all of the sauces I've had with any sweetness (orange, sesame, and general tso's are the ones I've had specifically) have left a strange and unpleasant aftertaste. One night, I was desperate for Chinese when I was in the area, and decided to forgo any meat-dishes based on my past experience. So I asked for just some vegetables to the woman on the phone. I pick up my food, and when I get home, it's only cabbage in a strange thick, white sauce. Ugh. No broccoli, carrots, or anything else. I tried many times, but I give up on this place.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
