I was truly impressed with my 1st visit to Cafe640! The atmosphere was welcoming and quaint. The salmon with spinach and rice was amazing. Not to mention, Ticia, the GM was very pleasant and attentive!!!

Great food and drinks. Nice outdoor patio. We ate here a couple of times while staying at The Highland Inn next door. Great place!

I liked the location and atmosphere a ton. My only problem with the place was that it charges so much for not that much food. I got french toast and it was mediocre. Next time I'll try the burger and fries thought, those looked much more filling.

Ok, Where do you start... BOGO burger Monday, half off wine Wednesday, awesome covered patio, great food or the great service. This is one of my favorite go to "hangouts". Let's start with the Café Burger- Angus Ground Chuck, Gruyere, Garlic-Herb roasted shiitakes with garlic aioli with House fries; probably my favorite burger in Atlanta. Next adventure... Headed out one night with no real agenda, just wanted to sit outside. We were so excited to discover half price wine night that we stayed for the pasta specials. Everything was great as usual. Cafe 640 has become one of our favorites ... True story!

We had my bridal shower here today and everything was amazing! The staff made sure everything ran smoothly. We got our food fast and everything was delicious. My guest had an amazing time. Thank you for everything!

Very diverse food menu - - it literally can be daunting at times due to the sheer magnitude of options. This, alas, is not the worst problem to have. Patio typically gets packed on the weekends - great people watching, and general experience. Service is shotty at best, never figured out why. Massive NFL projection screen on Sunday. Otherwise, inside is sexy at night, dimly-lit with a good looking crowd. Cafe 640 wears many hats, but does it well. Can be a little expensive. Just saying.

I really want to love Cafe di Sol (aka Cafe 640 on Open Table.) I guess you do have to wonder about a place that isn't sure of it's own name. The menus say Cafe 640 but the sign still says Cafe di Sol - talk about confusing the customer from the get go. The food looked great - see the pictures I posted. My chicken was tough and tasted as if it has been cooked many hours before and the fruit was definitely out of a bag (but they did let me substitute it for the typical 2 eggs - which was very nice). The gravy and biscuits were great but tough old chicken breasts makes one feel they are visiting Wendy's late hour drive thru window. If you decide instantly to have brunch on a Saturday or Sunday they are a great place because they don't have a wait and are available on OpenTable. The food is good just not great. I would definitely come back though. Their Apple Butter is to die for and worth the $.50 they charge you to have some!

I'm a regular at Cafe 640 but the brunch has inspired me to write them a great review. This place is the perfect blend of great food, atmosphere, and service. Lets start with the atmosphere. On a nice day underneath the trees on the patio is not only extremely pleasant but one of the best people watching spots in the highlands. The service is wonderful, I've never had a problem. Servers are genuine and helpful and the food comes out promptly. Lastly, the food is outstanding. The southern fried chicken and biscuits with gravy at brunch along with a Bells Two-Hearted was enough to put me in a blissful food coma and cure my hangover. Apart from brunch, they have my favorite veggie burger around, a fresh and delicious salmon salad, and a great Latin flare with the Ropa Vieja, which you should get, all at reasonable prices! What more do you want?!

I fell in love with Andy's Burger at the "Battle of the Burgers" held last October. I thought it was the best tasting burger - Angus ground chuck, melted Gruyere cheese, garlic herb roasted shiitake mushrooms, and garlic aioli. And they grill their burgers in a smoker which was like the cherry on top for me. So it's no surprise that's what I ordered today ... oh it was so juicy and yummy just like I remembered :) Andy's Burger is $11, and comes with a huge order of their house fries. The fries are also really good, and sprinkled with some kind of seasoning salt that gives it a slight kick. Skimming through the other Yelp reviews, it seems pretty unanimous that everyone loves Andy's Burger :) My friend and I came for brunch, and my friend was eyeing the brunch entrees. She decided to go with our server's recommendation - Fried Chicken Biscuit smothered with a tarragon mushroom gravy, which also came with eggs ($10). I had some of the chicken biscuit and it was very good - but a little too rich for me. My friend really enjoyed it though. Service was very friendly and good. Restaurant was near empty at 11 but packed by 12. Nice patio in the front too. I'd definitely come back for brunch ... no let's be honest here, I'd get the Andy's Burger again in a heartbeat :) FYI - free parking is available in the lot next to Highland Inn.

So I felt the ambiance was amazing until our server TIM came he was already frumpy but that is not why I am giving this venue a 1 star. We asked for straws for our drinks and he tossed them on the table (strike 1) We were a group of 4 and 3 of us had cash but I was using my debit card so I kindly wrote my order on the back of the receipt to make it easier for him. He brought me out a cc receipt for my total order to sign but I got home and checked my acct he charger me for my order, the entire tables order, and took their cash (strike 2 & 3) We are a group of bloggers and we meet up for brunch every Sunday so of course we will be giving a bad review and never going back to Cafe 640! Update: I spoke to the manager and he was super sweet! I upped the stars to 3 for his amazing speaking voice and concern!

Yesterday marked by second visit to Cafe di Sol. I arrived with a friend for lunch. The restaurant wasn't very busy as there was only three other tables occupied beside ours. The weather was perfect so we opted to sit in the patio. I have always been a little concerned with their patio chairs as they look very flimsy at first glance. For starters, I ordered the hummus tray. The dish came with cucumber, carrots, olives (with the seeds), and warmly toasted pita bread. The hummus was fresh, creamy, and very tasty. I highly recommend the dish. For our entrees, I got the Andy's burger and my friend got the house burger. Both dished came with the season fries. My burger was really tasty and juicy. The fries were fresh, crispy, and well seasoned. Overall, the place is great for solid food and offer a great patio for people watching as well. I will definitely come back!.

Turkey burger w/ cranberry sauce was good- would have preferred it to be on a bun rather than toasted pumpernickel, but that didn't prevent me from devouring the entire burger! The house made chips were a mix between potato & sweet potato- a little over fried and greasy, but again, didn't prevent me from devouring all of them. It took a little while for our table to receive our food...but it wasn't an egregiously long wait. Service was pretty straightforward on this visit- nothing above & beyond but nothing bad either. Funky cozy place, dominated by the patio out front facing North Highland Ave. Small parking lot around the side, otherwise, parking in the area is tough if it gets crowded. Would probably come back to try this place for brunch sometime.

Meh is right. I've driven by Cafe 640 countless times without stopping and I'm just going to keep on driving. While the enclosed patio was nice, they need to install some kind of buffer on the glass door to keep it from slamming. Seriously, every time it was closed it was so loud it interrupted my train of thought and conversation. An easy fix and a big ambiance booster. But really where things went wrong was the service. Slow, slow, slow and totally unapologetic about it. The food took forever and a day to arrive and when it did come, it was not impressively tasty. We had the zucchini quesadilla and the burgers... not one of the best burgers in town, that's for sure. An ample portion, though, with lots of fries, so at least you won't leave hungry. I'd come back for a beer (they had a decent list) or one of their supposedly signature cocktails and enjoy the patio when I've got a day to waste, but that's the only way I see Cafe 640 working for me.

If you're like me, you tend to overlook the chicken on most menus. I mean, chicken is what you get when you're paying and your date orders the lobster platter with duck confit and a side of caviar with truffles. And why not? You can make it at home cheaply and easily without breaking a sweat. If you don't agonize over it's pedigree, you can walk out of the grocer with a $5 bird, easy. I get it, but if I may entreat you, put the lowly yard bird notions aside. Cafe 640's Roasted Chicken should not be missed. It's served with softened sweet brussels sprouts and braised onions. The skin is crispy, salty and delightful and stuffed with tangy soft goat cheese that oozes decadently with every bite. The meat is consistently tender, flavorful and juicy. Cafe 640's menu changes slightly seasonally and during the warmer months, the chicken comes with honey glazed garden vegetables. It's fabulous. Now, the service has never been all smiles and "welcome" and "we're glad you're here" and all that. In fact, I'm sure I've been often enough, been greeted by the same host and waited on by the same servers enough to be recognized, but I don't see myself getting anything more than the succinct scripted spiel. Ever. And that's OK. I'm just there for the chicken.

Somewhat pricey drinks, but well made and truly the best French fries in Atlanta. Monday night half off burgers are well worth it!

Don't know what it is about this place, but I love it. Everything was fine today except for the smell of sewage in the air. The servers did their best to cover up the stank, but it was there. I had two Peroni's and a burger and it was great. Oh, PS, Scoutmobbin' it I was.

Brunch was pretty good, but the place is entirely too loud. Other than that, it's a really neat atmosphere with a good menu. I had a good but slightly too salty spinach omelette with grits and fruit-- coffee tasted a little too burnt and somehow kind of weak at the same time-- and my company had the eggs Benedict, which he found to be very good.

CUE THE ROCKY MUSIC --- HELLO 200TH REVIEW! Cafe 640 is well deserving of my 200th review for Yelp. This place is a sure fire tasty and budget friendly treat. My two friends and I had 3 amazing burgers for $23 dollars making half price burger night a great deal for a Monday Night! First off, if you order a burger --- GET THE TURKEY BURGER. Hands down, this was one of the best burgers I have ever had. The burger was cooked perfectly and the gobs of cheese made it heavenly! But it really went to a new level with the addition of a cranberry spread and the pumpernickel bread. Even if it was not burger night, it would have only been $9. The side of house made chips was lovely. The sweet potato chips were the best in the mix! While I didn't have a beer for the night, they do have a good amount of draft beer. I always respect a place when they support local breweries. Lastly, the huge TV for football --- OH YEAH!

Food-A solid 3.5 to 4 stars. Service-1, maybe a 2. On a rainy Sunday night when it wasn't busy at all. It took forever to get everything from water, to someone to take our order. We all got variants of the burger. I got mine with cheese and caramelized onions. It was cooked properly and really tasty. It might have been because I was pretty hungry, but it was still a good burger. They make their own fries, so they get points for that. There was something really salty on my burger and I love salt, so that's saying something. If they improved the service, they'd definitely get a bump. Otherwise, I'm sure I can find a place with comparable food and better service.

The decor was nice. The place was small. It was pretty dimly lit, but I was grateful, for it was a bad hair day. The odd thing, there were no 2 person tables. All the tables were for 4 or 6 people, so when we were actually seated. The 2 of us, were at this huge table. Ah well. Shrug. We ordered were 2 mimosas and their "homemade" limoncello. They were awesome. The mimosas were cool and fresh, the limoncello was spot on. It was lemony, and potent. It was smooth, not granular. Very nice. Our meals took like 30 min to arrive., I ordered the breakfast egg sandwich. It was good , but it was held in place by a large toothpick, and slid everywhere when i tried to eat it. I ended up having to use a fork and knife to cut it up. it just fell apart. But it did taste good. Nothing spectacular. Just how you would expect an egg sandwich with bacon, cheese, and lettuce to taste. For a side I got roasted potatoes. (meh). My friend ordered the turkey sandwich which I thought was absolutely delicious. It was ground turkey served with a cranberry sauce, and tasted like Thanksgiving in a sandwich.Very moist , well seasoned and Yum. Would recommend getting a side of extra cranberry sauce, because all that ground turkey could use something extra. For a side she ordered, truffle mac and cheese. Which I thought was DIVINE. I ended up ordering an extra side of it for me. I would prob go back here..but now I know was to expect, and what to order. Truffle mac and cheese please! Tip: Mondays, Buy one, get one free burgers.

4 stars for the patio and the to die for french toast! I love the patio, it's so cute with really good energy! Shaded with beautiful trees and decorated with strings of lights here and there. It's the perfect place to get together with friends, have a few mimosas and eat a delish casual brunch. I've been a few times now and have gotten several things. The burgers are good, the eggs benedict is tasty (the hollandaise not quite lemony enough, but that's a personal taste issue), the croque madame just the right amount of fancy. The service is fine, always friendly. BUT... The french toast is amazing! It's hard to mess up a standard french toast, so the bonus here is the toppings. It's smothered with fresh, warm cinnamon sugar apples complete with a generous dollop of cinnamon cream cheese and syrup. Yum Yum!

Just revisited Cafe640 last night.. Scoutmob reminded me it was time to pay another visit.. Burgers and Roasted Chicken all excellent as usual but was blown away by the creamy thai chicken curry soup!! Service was fast paced but friendly, Some 20 something ladies were haggling over splitting the bill down to the penny. (the menu clearly states no separate checks) so I left our server an extra big tip to make up for their rudeness!!

Seven of us had dinner last night. surprised to see so many 3-4 star reviews on here and i give it a whopping 2 stars. service lacked. i had the turkey burger, and my bread on my sandwich was burnt crisp to the point where i couldn't cut it. it was as if they threw charcoal onto my plate. for a small restaurant like this, the place took foreeeever to bring out the food. it almost seemed as if people who got there 5 minutes later go their food faster than us. the only pro about this place was the buy 1 get 1 free burger on monday. they also have $15 wine wednesdays, but i don't think i will be willing to come back. i don't want burnt food nor slow service.

Just had lunch here with my new friend Amanda and I was pleasantly surprised as to how tasty their burgers turned out. I had the Angus Chuck with Gorgonzola and Caramelized Onions. Yum Yum! Good stuff. I also tried a bite of the Andy's burger and who knew that Garlic-Herb Roasted Shiitakes would taste AWESOME on a burger? Good stuff. I have yet to check out the Ropa vieja nachos that Bobbin W.'s raving about but will have to keep that in mind for my next visit! We got a chance to sit outside in their patio seating area, the weather was perfect and the burgers were amazing. I also enjoyed their seasoned "skinny" fries.

I Yelped and Scoutmobbed this place. Tim, the hopefully soon to be assistant manager was very nice and pleasant. I came for their famous burgers as per Yelp reviews but instead opted for a Tim recommended Salmon medium cooked on a cedar plank with spinach and carrots(traded in my sugar snap peas for the carrots). But first the appetizer named Ropa. That thing was served on a tortilla chip and it has some kind of pulled pork and jalapeños among a few things. It was delish! Next course and main meal was the salmon. The best salmon I have ever tasted and I have tasted quite a few. To round it off, was their bread pudding. My night is now complete. Thanks for the best all around! But let me get to the point. In short, this place has a lovely quaint ambiance, delectable food selection, great waitstaff, and in the end, well, I can say I had a FoodGasmic experience!

stumbled upon this gem on vacation in Atlanta! best bloody mary I've ever had! the truffle mac n cheese was to die for, and my salad was perfect. my boyfriend got biscuits and gracy and I couldn't help but eat half of his too! great place, good service

Overall I will give this place 4 stars because the food was good, which for me is the most important part of my dining experience. I will definitely go back, even without my scoutmob ;) There is a clear focus on taste and good ingredients at this restaurant. The zucchini quesadilla was da bomb, but I do recommend only using a small amount of the green salsa it comes with (wasn't a huge fan of that stuff). The dressing on the spinach salad was SO YUMMY that I ate it by itself... and then licked my fingers... don't judge me! The grilled chicken was pretty tasty too and tender (I hate dry chicken, so this made me happy). I like the outdoor patio for a warm day and the covered patio for a cool day. When it's sunny outside the patio feels very cozy and relaxed. The indoor space is nothing special, but it does have a large bar that could be good for hanging out with friends. As for the service, it seems that this is not a priority at this restaurant. The staff appears to believe in "holla at me when you need me" kind of service. But I felt that when called on, the waitress was very friendly and prompt.

Got the burger with carmelized onions and gruyere cheese. And la chica bonita got the turkey melt with the mac and cheese. Needless to say it was all awesome. Even the french fries were something that I would go back for, very thin and not greasy. Burger was thick and fresh and her turkey melt had that quality taste that you look for in that white meat. Great service as well and our waitress honored our scoutmob without a single ounce of sass which happens more often than not. I will be coming back.

Pretty good appetizers. Love the onion rings, hummus plate and fries. The brownie was a little hard and there was a scoop of whip cream rather just have a scoop extra of ice cream. One time my friend got a bug in her salad it happens I guess. Never happen again though.

Last evening my sister and I decided it would be lovely to go to our old haunt's (Cafe Diem) new owner, Eclipse di Sol. We, like everyone, sat out on the lovely covered patio surrounded by well-kept trees, bushes, flowers, and even herbs! Yes, we identified rosemary growing heartily on the edge of the patio and made jokes about homeless people straggling by at night and deciding to flavor their 40's with sprigs of rosemary for an extra dose of class. We are demented. Anyway, the food here is lovely and well-presented. They have a good amount of tasty appetizers that we decided to get and just split for dinner. My sister said they have an amazing grapefruit martini that even I would like (not a grapefruit fan.) It was actually very refreshing and sweeter than I had envisioned it to be. Very nice. They also have a veggie burger that they make themselves and my sister said it is outstanding (it's not vegan so I couldn't try it.) They do have brunch, but the menu is a little odd- I think it may be one of the poshest brunches I've ever seen- fancy wine-braised pork shoulders, shrimp and peppers with gravy, and fancy grits, just to name a few things I could remember from the menu. But they have eggs and bacon as well. This place is also fun to go to with a group- last time I went there my group just ordered a bunch of appetizers and tried some of their many tasty adult beverages and enjoyed the patio.

This place has the worst service I have ever experienced. My boyfriend and I stopped by today for some brunch and were snubbed almost immediately. First, two servers waffled over whether or not they wanted to seat us for a full five minutes, while awkwardly glancing at nearby open tables. Finally, the grumpier of the two lead us to a table on the porch. And then we sat there for thirty minutes. In those thirty minutes we failed to see a single waitperson, even after our glasses of water were emptied. Other folks who came in after us and were seated on the porch had their drink orders taken and were served almost immediately. We decided no food could be worth being outright ignored for such a long stretch of time and left, even though we had a Scoutmob. (We went somewhere else with great service and paid full price.) We were warned that the food would take awhile and I honestly wouldn't have minded if there was a wait to be seated, but rude waitstaff and inattentive servers are something I won't put up with. I will definitely not be visiting this business again, and I will tell all my friends to avoid this place. (If I could give this place zero stars for zero service, I would.)

Great little brunch place with little to no wait on a Saturday around noon. Food was solid, but I wouldn't call it a party in my mouth. Had the eggs benedict and a pancake on the side. Maybe the hangover was messing with my taste buds, but the hollandaise seemed a little bland. Tasted the ham more than anything (although the ham itself was delicious... apple-smoked). Think it needed some lemon in it or something. Pancake was unbelievably fluffy - had a lot of lemon zest and some dried cranberries. Kind of tasted like a muffin.

no kidding! gruyere cheese and shitake mushrooms on a perfectly cooked burger ...and, unlike 99% of the other diners, I like my burger burned and the best, crispiest shoestring fries. terrific place consistently

Thanks again, Scoutmob! You never fail to finally get my ass into restaurants that I've walked by/driven by/said I wanted to try for years. Kudos to you, sir, for motivating me with 50% off discounts. I went to Café Di Sol on a brutally cold weeknight for dinner with one of my BFFs. Despite the cold and our early evening meeting, the restaurant was pretty packed (and was stuffed to the gills by the time we finished our meal). And it has a cozy ambiance perfect for a relaxed dinner with friends or a date. We both dined on appetizers and sides; butternut squash ravioli for me, ropa vieja and mussels for her, and truffle mac and cheese for both of us. We both wanted the delicious-sounding house cured salmon, but sadly they were out. Despite that setback, everything was scrumptious! Everything! I want to go back and eat it all again and again. I'm a huge mac and cheese fan, and this was easily some of the richest and best that I've ever had. It's creamy, gooey, flavorful and topped with seasoned breadcrumbs for the right amount of crunch. Aside from the aforementioned lack of salmon, I only have one complaint about Café di Sol. Their service. It wasn't terrible in a way that would make you seriously contemplate the amount of tip you should leave. But it was brisk and bordering on rude. Come on, buddy; it's really not going to kill you to crack a smile.

Went there for Sunday Brunch this past Sunday. It was incredible. Any of you yelpers that have seen me eat, know that I barely touch my food, even if it's incredible. Lets just say there was no more food left after I was done with it. I had the berry pancakes, cheese grits, scrumptious bacon, and an egg! OMG, it was so good. The pancakes were made from scratch (not mix which seems to be the norm around here) and wasn't the size of the damn plate that it was served on. It was normal, pancake sized. So good.

Was in the mood for a burger and R.G. suggested we go here. I ordered the "Burger", cooked medium, with Gruyere and caramelized onions. The middle of the burger was more on the rare side and I considered sending it back but didn't. Hell, I ended up eating every last bite. It was good and a bit messy. I have mixed emotions about the house fries. They were shoestring type with the skin left on and were fresh, crunchy and hot - all good. However, they were too salty for my taste and had a tad bit too much oil on them. The upside, saved me some calories as I didn't eat all that many. Service was very good. However, I think there was only two other parties inside besides us so I wouldn't have expected anything less. I like the atmosphere - the wood tables, wood floor and soft lighting emanate a feeling of warmth. They also have a nice patio. I will come back here, sit on the patio this time with my favorite drink and try some other menu items.

I love this place. Hands down, they have the best patio in VA highlands. To top it off, it's dog-friendly. It's a great brunch spot -- no one can turn down the fried chicken biscuits... those things are famous. And I love their bloody mary's - they make my Saturday! They have a lot of great sandwiches, fresh veggies, very tasty salads. My new fave is the arugula-beet salad, it's delicious. And now for the grapefruit martini -- these things are amazing (and a little dangerous too :) Cafe di sol is my first thought when I want to go out somewhere in the neighborhood. I love the bar crowd too!

I stopped by here after touring around Virginia Highlands with a friend. We're both new the area, and Cafe 640 looked like such a cute spot to stop in for a Sunday lunch. The decor and ambiance is charming, I especially enjoyed the light-adorned patio and quaint tables. I got a quick peek at the inside, which also seemed delightful. I ordered the soup of the day and a small house salad. The soup was chicken chili, which was delicious, although a little salty. The salad was fresh and bright, and definitely a winner in my book. I looked at their brunch menu, but I wasn't hungry enough for one of their heartier dishes -- I definitely will be coming back to check out their Bloody Mary's and their Eggs Benedict. Service was polite, quick and efficient, and we were in and out within an hour, although I could have lingered for awhile.

Where to begin?!?! The Sunday atmosphere at the bar is like none other! Mimosas flow and the Grapefruit/rosewater martinis never stop. We had the chicken biscuits but substituted the tarragon gravy with sausage gravy per the bartender's recommendation. It was truly spot on!! After a certain time the bartender decided it would be funny to perform a flash-mob (random occurrence of synchronized performance) and was very good at getting everyone excited about joining. Was a very fun and energetic environment with great food to boot. That was just my first experience there. Our next time in was on a Monday night for their Buy-a-Burger-Get-a-Burger, yep I said it. The Andy's burger was on my mind from the Battle of the burgers last year and the Turkey patty melt was very intriguing as well. I opted for the Turkey Patty even though I crave the Andy's Burger regularly. The Turkey melt was more flavorful than any I've had. It was spicy and sweet all wrapped into one. After dinner we had a limoncello that I understand to be homemade. As the Italians say "Bene"!! Long story short, I highly recommend this restaurant and have made frequent return trips!!! Great drinks, Great food, and Great People!!

Having dined there several times over the years, I was willing to try it again, since I had gift certificates that I had won about a year ago. However, the other times I have eaten there, were never great experiences, either in cuisine nor service. There were a bout 6 people dining there yesterday afternoon when I was told to sit where I wanted. While waiting for my date, I showed the waiter my gift certificates and he promptly walked back to the kitchen to talk to a manager. He came back to report that they were invalid. I then asked to speak to a manager. The manager came out and flat out refused to honor the certificates which did not have an expiration date. He said that they had changed owners, so this was not any of their issue. I added that this was not a good way to run a business, especially in this economy. He said basically, "Too bad" and walked back to the kitchen. I have yet to find out whether he was the owner or just a manager, but the poor attitude has left me feeling pretty disgusted. There was not even a shred of understanding or compromise in the handling of this problem. Now, my $50 worth of Cafe di Sol gc will remind me of a spoiled date and poor attitude, instead of a happy win that could have turned out very differently.

This is one of my favorite places to eat in town. I literally have dreams about the turkey burger, and Andys burger is easily top 5 burgers in town. If you're in the brunch mood, try the brisket omelette - will blow your mind! And for drinking - Rosewater martini.

Do you remember when Cafe 640 was Cafe Diem? Back in our college days my bestie, Kim and I used to visit all the time. Sometimes we'd visit Cafe Diem before hitting up the Masquerade. It was also called Cafe di Sol for several years before recently changing to Cafe 640. Since there were no small tables available, we were seated at a large 6-person table. I'd take this any day over those teeny tiny bistro tables we've been sat at other restaurants. I can't stand when you have to juggle plates because the tables are so small. I decided to try the much hyped Grapefruit Rosewater Martini. Sounds great, right? Too bad it is just that - hype. Well, at least it was to me. All look and no substance. I couldn't taste anything but Grapefruit juice. I saw a ton of the Grapefruit Martinis being made at the bar, so perhaps my taste was off that night. Next, we ordered appetizers - Ropa Vieja and Hummus. Ropa Vieja is a shredded beef and Cafe 640 serves theirs on colored tortilla chips with cilantro, topped with cheese and a creamy sauce. It was definitely filling and the Ropa Vieja seemed to be cooked very well. The hummus, was absolutely perfect. It was served in a deceptively large bowl. It looked small, but it contained a ton of hummus. And the cucumbers, carrot sticks and pita triangles were plenty to mop up all the tasty hummus. Instead of full-blown entrees we chose sandwiches instead. Me: the Andy's Burger with garlic shitake mushrooms and gueyere cheese, my SO: Reuben Sandwich. My burger was juicy, albeit very greasy, but the flavor was highly enjoyable. I'd love this with a good brew on their patio on a warm summer day. As for the Reuben sandwich, you know how you visit a deli and get a sandwich like this and the meat is piled so high you examine it from every angle, not quite sure how you'll be able to fit it inside your mouth? Well, that's not the case here. They are stingy with the meat on this sandwich, although the house made chips, a combo of regular and sweet potato were really tasty. Assemble your peeps and snag a table on the patio on warm spring and summer months. They seem to have a great beer selection, so it is definitely worth throwing back a few on a weekend afternoon on their patio.

Really had no plans on eating here, just stumbled in after the L5P Halloween festival. Had a couple beers and noticed the food coming out of the kitchen. Couldn't resist. The bartender service was excellent. She was very attentive and took very good care of us. Had the Turkey Burger which was perfectly seasoned, moist, and filling. I'll return!

The Café Burger is, to date, the best burger I have had in Atlanta. Crazy good. Add to that the great ambience and the fun environment, it is one of Atlanta's true hidden gems.

While its not fair that I give this place a review due to my purchase of one, yes ONE, cocktail. I figure what the hell. The spot is connected to what appears to be another restaurant (or perhaps its just the dining room), but they looked very seperate. I was somewhat confused with the seperation. Drinks were a tad bit overpriced, hence my purchase of only one. I hate this part of the highlands because the parking situation is always sucky. Its also hard to find because its in such an ackward location. Pretty diverse menu, and I think they do sometype of happy specials on food. I just cant remember. Too bad I wont be back to find out.

I was contemplating whether to eat here or the Flying Biscuit, on the bench outside of the restaurant, I was rudely told to get up unless I planned on entering. I will NEVER eat here.

I live in the neighborhood, and I really tried to like this restaurant, especially for those sunny days, when you want to sit outside and eat some food with a nice beverage. Both my husband and I were not happy with our food. I had some sort of pasta and it was bland (my husband cannot even remember what he had, nor can i- if that tells you anything) Anyway, I really dont understand all of the great reviews here. I would say this might be a great place for drinks, but thats about it.

Came into Cafe 640 on a Friday to get some apps with a friend...delicious! Emily gave us great suggestions: calamari, antipasto board, and smoked tuna dip. Yum.

Had a late lunch there this past Saturday. I have been here before and it was ok, nothing overwhelmingly good or bad, but since we were in the area, we stopped in. We sat in the outside portion, but it was heated. That was fine. We ordered our food. A friend got the hummus as his meal. It appeared to be very similar to the picture posted on here. Well, except you can't exactly tell that the hummus is rather runny, yes--it was more like a thick, mushy soup! It tasted absolutely disgusting. When the waitress came to pick up our plates, she HAD to notice that the hummus was virtually untouched. However, no questions were asked. The other issue was that one of us substituted chips for fries and the other substituted fries for chips with the impression that these could easily be interchangeable. The menu indicates that some meals came with chips and others came with fries. When we finally get the bill, the person that ordered the fries was inexplicably charged an extra $1.50. When the waitress finally comes back, we ask her if that was correct. With that scheme, the person ordering the chips should get a credit of $1.50 for not getting the fries. Or, there should be no extra charges as this is seemingly an equal substitution. Waitress' response: "well if it's a big deal, I'll take that off the bill. But yea, it's an extra $1.50 for fries. I thought that was pretty clear. But if you really want me to take it off, I will." We was FURIOUS! We wanted to say that I'd rather just take it out of her tip, but we all refrained from reacting too harshly. She came back with a new bill, taking that extra charge off. We left all annoyed by this. Truly disappointed in this restaurant's service, but I believe that if your food is average at best, you MUST do something more to get customers to try and return there. There are an abundance of other restaurant choices, and so I think I'll pass on ever going back here.

Bad service followed by decent food. Ordering the house fries as an app for 5$ is a must. Burger was bad. Bun to meat ratio was way off. Ruben and beer selection were great! I used scout mob and knocked off 50% for my date. Cool date spot in the best part of our city.

Cafe di Sol: great atmosphere, ordinary food. How to describe this? The food was a little rich, yet a little bland. My steak was a little tough, though I hesitate to blame the restaurant for that. They probably do their best to obtain the best steak they can find. My friends were probably grateful for the 4 minute intervals during which I was consigned to chewing and could not talk. On the other hand, for $20, I can imagine something a little more than the meat and a pile of french fries. Okay, so they were the best french fries ever. Still, they're fries, they occupied 3/4 of my plate, and it was an expensive plate. So, I ate the steak, had a couple of fries, and that was that. The chard appetizer was stellar. It had pumpkin seeds on top. Yum! We went on a scoutmob promotion with a friend, and we had a great time. But, the food was merely ordinary. The wine was outstanding. I had two glasses of Malbec, and it was genuinely good. Our waitress was equally great - she was attentive, together, and found just the right balance between sweetly interested and intrusive. The food was just okay. The atmosphere could really work for a date with a hipster type, and I feel more culturally tuned to Atlanta than I did before.

This is a nice standby casual cafe in the highland area. Has a great patio. I find myself drifting in here as a fallback brunch or late night option from time to time, since it's always open and surprisingly never a wait. Food tend to be liberally seasoned with butter, gravy, or other flavored oils--boy do they love their gravy here--and it found a fan in my less-than-delicate taste buds. Andy Burger was quite decadent, and I was a big fan of the shrimp and grits. However, they took the shrimp and grits off the menu two months ago which prompted me to go with three, not four stars. Brunch items featuring the gravy are usually a good bet. There are inconsistencies in both services and cooking. Fries were just okay, a little soggy and overly salty. Mussels are sometimes not fresh. They run out of ingredients or have waiters disappearing or take too long for food to come out at unlikely times (e.g. not too busy). Onion soup is just plain poor. It's probably also true about them getting worse as of late. Overall still a very pleasant neighborhood cafe. Just bring the shrimp and grits back already!

I don't know what it is, but for some reason, the Andy's Burger at Cafe di Sol makes me want to be a better man. It may have been the just-red-enoughness of the succulent, medium-rare patty, or the fact that it was absolutely oozing garlic aioli, but I fear I may never know the satisfaction of a new 'favorite burger' ever again. Cafe di Sol has ruined me for every other burger.

I had a shrimp poboy - the shrimp were good but it was really just a sandwich. The fries were awesome. The beer selection was sweet. Bottom Line: You can easily do worse, but you can probably do better.

i wish there were more places like this. i stood there for 15 min just trying to come up with an appetizer. i'm glad i knew exactly what i was going to order for the meal. i choose the hummus as an appetizer. it was great. the hummus was really good and creamy and it was a great addition to the hot pita. the olives were good too. i had the turkey burger and it was the most moist turkey burger I have ever had. it was so delicious. i cant wait to go back fro another appetizer and some more burgers.

on a whim, eight coworkers and i decided to head out to Cafe di Sol to celebrate the end of finals and also to grab some drinks and eats. My car got lucky - we happened to find parking right in front of the bike shop, but be warned, there's a sign there that says you can't park. we chatted with the bike owners though, who said that they were closing up shop for the night, so no biggie. i love the atmosphere of cafe di sol. they had a covered patio that we opted out of, as this was one of atlanta's rare sleeting/ice nights, and instead asked for a table for nine. i thought the lady would have a heart attack, but instead went and rearranging a bunch of tables for us real quick-like. i love how this place is so chic and casual. the tables aren't all parallel or aligned, there were candles in tall red containers flickering at us from all directions, so populous it fit the winter/holiday mood very nicely. as we all sat down and our party of four became six and eight and finally nine, the waitress came around and asked for drinks. i wish the service was a bit faster, especially since after three drink calls, an appetizer call, and then finally an entree call, we were all pretty darn hungry. it's mostly our fault though, so i can't really blame CdS. the food - wow. i wasn't there for long so i ordered just a side of fries and out they came, a very large portion of shoe string fries covered in parsley, seasoned salt, possibly some garlic. they provided me a small tub of mayo which i immediately rejoiced about (having visited belgium this summer), but as i came to find out at the end of the evening, greasy fries + mayo don't mix well on an empty stomach. i sampled some of other folks' plates - the home chips were delicious (mix of sweet potatoes and non-sweet potatoes cut VERY thinly), the olives were beautifully fresh - and everybody's portions seemed to be well-sized and nicely plated. they weren't able to separate our checks individually but we could pay with multiple credit cards, i'm not sure how the rest of the night went but i was pretty pleased with the 1.5 hours i was there! i will be going again and this time for something more extensive than a bowl of fries :) and no more mayo for me.

Ropa vieja nachos. Need I say more? Well, yeah... Yesterday evening, I enjoyed a dual app spread at Cafe di Sol, enjoying the weather on the front patio. Shredded beef sat on each red tortilla chip, topped with cilantro sour cream and seeded jalapeño slices. While the dish seemed small for $9, it was sufficiently filling. I also requested a side of broccoli in an effort to eat my veggies. It's hard to make a splash with steamed vegetables, I know, so the broccoli was tasty but like any other cafeteria accompaniment. My friend's zucchini quesadilla appetizer looked inviting, too, allowing us to enjoy a meal at non-entree prices.

So my friend and I decided to try this place because there was a Scoutmob. Had never seen or heard of it but had driven by millions of times. Oh my god. Had brunch there are it is a new fave! I had the southern fried chicken biscuits with the pine sausage gravy instead of the mushroom tarragon gravy. To die for! My friend had the turkey burger and fries which she thought was delish. Our server was very nice and although the kitchen was slow we werent forgotten about. The have a nice bar and I'll be back to try some drinks as their drink menu seemed very extensive. I give it 5 stars because I don't even like breakfast but I loved it here.

I'm on the fence about this place, and will be sure to write a follow-up review the next time we dine here. Went with the hubs for a Valentine's Day late lunch/very early dinner (we only had the babysitter until 5). I made reservations for 3 since it was Valentine's Day, and was pleasantly surprised at the moderate to small crowd. We were seated immediately. We were given a brunch menu, which I definitely did not want, so I waited for our waiter to see if there were any other options. It took a good 10 minutes for our waiter to even come to the table. When he did arrive, I was told only the brunch menu is being served right now...darnit!!! I was really looking forward to trying several appetizers, drinks, and dessert...we were really planning on being here for a little while! Well, we decided to just get something quick then head off to somewhere else for drinks and dessert. I ordered the grilled Mahi Mahi sandwich. It was pretty good...your typical Mahi Mahi filet, not anything special. The house chips...especially the sweet potato ones, were delicious!! A few were a little stale and flimsy, but overall good. Hubby got the turkey burger..YUM! Before he almost polished the thing off, I had to grab a bite...and I mean just a bite! Like another Yelper said, definitely the best turkey burger in Atlanta!! Back to the service. It was not bad, but not that great either. We had 2 waiters...who looked a lot alike, except one was a little older than the other. Neither ever stopped to ask how we were doing, etc. We were also sitting by the door, of which, they had open the entire time! It was like 60 degrees outside, and it was very chilly and irritating. Several of the staff, including who I believe is the manager, saw that I was freezing, as I was rubbing my arms every time they walked by. Although my first impression was not the best, the sweet taste of that turkey burger (which I wish I got!!), is enough to make me give it another shot! I will definitely be back (during the DINNER menu), probably when it gets a little warmer and we can sit out on the cute patio!

The veggie burger, which is buy one get one free Monday-Thursday from 5-7pm is outstanding. One of the best veggie burgers (made out of lentils) I've ever had! Make sure to get it with the fries instead of house chips.

Meh. long story short, I find few things more miserable than paying for shitty service. Went here with my sweet sweet girlfriend on a whim, thanks to scoutmob and my underemployment, and left thoroughly unimpressed. The food, we both had different burgers and split the zucchini quesadilla as an appetizer, was pretty boring but at least the burgers we waited 45 minutes for were cooked correctly. The service was slow, inattentive and lackluster.

Great deals on cheap burgers during the week and a nice little patio outside is a great way to chill on a summer afternoon. All of us were happy with our meals and I'd like to come back sometime to try some other things on their menu. Look for the yelp deals :)

That's a *solid* three stars, with room for more on a future visit. We went Sunday mid afternoon and ate off the brunch menu, which was different from the lunch menu online (so we had to pick out new meals, no big deal). The clientele was a mix of older people and young hipsters. We fell somewhere in the middle. I felt like it was a place I could bring my folks, but still meet up with a girlfriend for dinner or drinks. The decor inside felt like it was just there. I didn't find it cozy or inspiring. So we braved the heat on the patio (it wasn't bad at all under the fan and with tall glasses of water), and it was very cute. I'd love to do the patio again one night soon. The food was delicious for the most part. We shared the tomato/mozz salad and the tomatoes, olive oil and basil were wonderful, but the mozzarella wasn't as awesome as we'd hoped. Hubby D had the turkey burger (yum, I will go back for this myself when I can have burgers again!) and chips. Chips were standard home chips with sweet potato chips mixed in, not too greasy which was nice. I had the mahi-mahi sandwich. It was good, but I didn't feel like I was experiencing all the flavors together, it was almost like they'd hit here and there, one piece and section of the sandwich at a time. One side of my fish was painfully salty, but it only lasted a couple of bites. I was offered options for sides, so I chose grilled asparagus. On our bill there was a $2 up charge for deviating from the standard chips, but that seemed odd since choices were clearly presented by the server. Service otherwise was just fine, no long waits for anything, but nothing above and beyond.

Did you know? Cafe di sol has brunch every Saturday and Sunday til 4pm! Besides flying biscuit, waffle house, and jchristopher's, there's not that many places that offer good ol' breakfast on the weekend. My boyfriend and I were going to Highland Bakery but somehow made the wrong turn and was on N Highland, not highland. We just decided to come here at that moment after seeing some people wait outside the door. It's one of the best kept secrets for brunch! My boyfriend had the southern chicken biscuit with mushroom gravy. I was a bit worried it may be too salty, but not at all! The chicken was fried to a good crisp, and placed on top of a buttery biscuit and covered with delicious gravy n chunks of sausage. It also came with 2 additional pan fried egg. They were crisp on the bottom and the edges, which I thought was a little bit weird. I like my eggs juicy and smooth. Id gotten for myself eggs benedict, which was twisted -- black forest ham and spinach. The novel combination was pretty good. The black forest ham was a little bit more tender than the traditional canadian bacon. The spinach also added a good texture, but they kinda over did it by adding too much. It made it a bit bitter, but thats just a little negative feedback -- I still loved the dish. The potatoes on the side were well roasted and I do love the crisp on those, but not on my eggs. Overall, no wait at 11am on Sunday and an eggs-cellent breakfast = 4 stars. I enjoyed my visit and I'd definitely recommend this to anyone who's craving for brunch.

Love the pefectly muddled mojitos here. Strong, acidic, tart, and tasty. I have been here numerous times and have tried the following dishes: Mussels in a red curry broth sauce were great and had enough broth to be sopped up with buttery grilled baguettes, yum. 4.5 stars The ropa vieja, a slow braised shredded steak served on red torilla chips attempted to be nacho-like, served with sour cream, cheese, and jalapenos but was missing something. The meat was a bit dry and did not have enough flavor. It certainly did not taste slow braised. 3 stars. The butternut squash ravioli also did not measure up. The dish may be for the minimalist eaters out there who don't like too much extraneous flavor and truly enjoy the taste of turnips and snap peas on their own. I love my vegetables but I need something to give them that zip, especially in a pasta dish. The butternut squash filling was too subtle and the sage brown butter paired with it was barely visible, let alone tasteable. 2.5 stars Andy's burger is my personal favorite. Yummy gruyere, garlic-y shitake mushrooms, and garlic aili bring an explosion of flavor. I've had it cooked medium both times, unfortunately, the last time the medium was cooked more like a medium-rare and tainted my burger experience. The burger was too mushy and blended all of the creamy textures together. 4 stars. Overall, I am a fan and continue to return. I think they are now changing names to Cafe 640 since they are on 640 N. Highland. Go Figure.

This place is very solidly a three star place. First, good things. The waitresses are very pretty. The food is good. It is good food. Not great food. Not fantastic food. Nothing extremely memorable. But it is good food. Sometimes you just want good food. Sometimes. Strangely, there was something missing from each plate. I document as follows: I got the pastrami, dijon and onion biscuit, scrambled eggs, and grits (that I had them add cheese to to make cheesy grits). I requested scrambled light and the eggs came scrambled hard. It was weird because the salt was not evenly mixed throughout the egg so some part we very salty and others were too simple eggy. The pastrami and biscuit were good. The cheesy grits were too creamy for my liking but otherwise they were-- meh-- good. Boyfriend got the bacon-banana biscuits and sausage. The pancake was yummy enough. The bacon and banana were in perfect symphony, but the quality of the batter itself was off so the pancakes were meh. There is only one sausage too. It was delicious sausage, but just having one made the plate the smallest one we got. Friend got the mushroom omelet. I did not try it. There was only toast, no jam or butter. Buddy got the Gorgonzola burger and fries. I thought the fries were VERY YUMMY. But I love fries. Fries, fries, fries. He said the burger was supposed to have caramelized onions but the onions were not, throwing this burger off. He said it was good, but lacking one essential flavor. A flavor he could not pin point. The waitress also did not come by often enough. No water refilling. Ugh. I asked for ketchup halfway through the meal. It came promptly, but it took halfway through the meal to get her. We actually discussed this place and decided that it is a solidly three star place. Good but not great. Solidly just good. PS: We came because of Groupon or Scoutmob. I forget.

Le sigh...where to start? My friends and I had a couple of problems initially, and because the problems were righted, this has become a 2-star review. We showed up for a bday dinner on Saturday night with no reservations. Say what? A host on a Thursday night told me I wouldn't need reservations. So, we were sat in exile on the frigid patio, which just would not do. We asked to wait for a table with "little hope" (yep, hostess said that) that we'd get inside, but we said we'd wait anyway. 45 minutes later we were moved inside, so problem #1 is now solved. Yeay Cafe di Sol. Problem #2 was a little harder to solve: they were out of a fave appetizer and a fave beer! Say what again? The Devils on Horseback (aka bacon-wrapped dates) were sold out and so was the Allagash White. After expressing annoyance and casually dropping that I was going to review this place, an Allagash magically appeared. Warm, but at our table. Problem #2 sorta solved. The food that we did order was pretty good; we had hummus, butternut squash ravioli and calamari. The calamari was probably our least favorite, but the hummus and ravioli were delish, and all washed down with their grapefruit-rosewater martini. Def. worth drinking. A Scoutmob saved us from totally hating our experience; I'd go back, but eh...there's other spots.

Short and brief. This place gets 4 1/2 stars. The Salmon Salad (dressing on the side) was probably the best salad I've had in ATL in a long time. I got it medium rare. I will come back time and time again just to have that. I am OVER their patio furniture though. I hate when the chair makes marks on the back of your legs and you can't wait to get up. If they fixed that, and maybe a little interior design, then I'd go up. Sorta' true it's not a kids place cause there are random smokers on the patio, but there were plenty of kids there . . . so just bring the iPad and you'll be set :)

I went here for dinner and was able to use a Groupon for it (our server was actually excited when she saw the Groupon - this was fun). We started with the mussels, which were tasty but not that remarkable. For my entrée, I had the grilled mahi-mahi sandwich with the house chips. I also thought this was good although a bit messy. My dining companion had the hanger steak with house fries. He didn't love it. He did eat all of it but said it was just OK. At the time I went, I remember thinking that there were not a lot of things on the menu that sounded good to me but, after looking at the menu again, I don't know what was wrong with me that day. There are actually a lot of things that sound good to me, although maybe not good enough to make me rush back. I would return but I think I really need to find the dish here that I love and would be excited about coming back to get.

Having dined on the patio hundreds of times on apps and wine, this Sunday was my first foray inside. We lunched on a chilly Saturday and once again found the curse of Scoutmob alive and well- this place was hopping with toeheaded children and big groups of college kids. We waited about 10 minutes for a table and were slightly squished into a table on the side. Service here never pleases - but its usually not bad enough to complain about. Our server didn't hit the ball out of the park but he was attentive enough. I love the cheap Cono Sur Sauvingnon Blanc here. We ordered - the burger, the turkey burger, mac n cheese for our half-pint, the french dip and I had the salmon salad. The burgers were delicious. I have grown to absolutely love the turkey burger here and the beef burger was devoured by my friend. I've never seen anyone order the French Dip but it was really great- the horseradish picked up the flavor and our only complaint was the the "dip" was so small it was hard to dunk the soft sandwich. My salad was overdressed - and the pickled veggies didn't add much. The salmon was well cooked but the rest of the salad was just overrun with the vinaigrette. Cafe di Sol never disappoints for drinks but I'll add it into the weekend brunch/lunch rotation now...

I went here on a lovely spring Saturday afternoon, sat outside, and had some delicious healthy food. My goat cheese, beet salad was quite good, although tiny, which means I also mooched off everyone else's meal too. Banana pancakes were pretty good and a nice stack - too many for one person. They didn't get the order correct though - the bacon was missing! The chicken salad in a croissant was not entirely as healthy as it should be, but their spices made it unique. Yum sweet potato fries! And the last meal was the french female version of the croque monsieur (the dame something?) which didn't wow me since it has eggs, but my friend liked. Not the friendliest waitstaff, but my reservation gave us a lovely patio spot in the sun and that's good enough for me. Good brunch place for a large group and cheap enough meals.

I give it two stars only because of the fond memories of Eclipse de sol. Where's the style and sense of a distinguished lounge that it used to be?? The food is still great though, and I guess the only thing totally the same. They do have Orin Swift Wine the Prisoner there, so thats redeeming. They now have tv's and sweetwater posters in leu of local art. I don't know, maybe it's just nostalgia but I don't get the same vibe. I'm big on ambiance and dare I say the word classy, and it seems to have lost some.

The weather was so nice out last weekend that I was able to grab a late brunch with my friend on the patio of Cafe 640. I previously reviewed it for dinner, but had been waiting for nice weather to try out the brunch. Brunch was absolutely fantastic and I highly recommend it -- especially with the 50% off ScoutMob discount. I had the bacon banana pancakes served with maple syrup and banana butter, while my friend had the southern fried chicken biscuits with mushroom gravy and sunny eggs. Can't say enough positive things about brunch here. The waiter did a great job helping us out but wasn't overbearing. Just perfect for the spring/summer.

You probably wouldn't think a trendy place like this would have a kick you in the face kinda burger! Well you would be wrong. This place had one of the best burgers I have had this year! The chill vibe was refreshing. The waiter was seemingly trying to get us to stay longer rather than rushing us out the door. This was not to rack up more money on drinks as we were drinking diet coke and water. The location is not the best and if you are eating outside you may be overwhelmed by the dude cooking on his smoker 10-15 feet away. (we ate inside) Overall I was pleased with this place and quite surprised by the quality of the food.

I've been here dozens of times and only had one negative experience, which was 100% because the server, who I haven't seen since, was being an ass. Chugging magically delicious greyhounds on the slightly shaded patio in the fall is one of my all-time Atlanta bests. It's hands down my favorite brunch spot and mysteriously always seems full but not too crowded. Everything I've ordered or stolen from someone's plate has been tasty, most very especially the fried egg, gruyere, bacon, and caramelized onion sandwich on ciabatta. And buy one get one free burgers on Mondays. Hell yes.

Great place in the Highlands! I had the Turkey Burger on Pumpernickel, it was excellent. The calamari was very lightly fried, delicious, and the mozzarella sticks were lightly fried in what appeared to be Panko bread crumbs. The ambiance is lovely at night with the red string lights on the trees. Perfect place to grab a drink on a summer (or any other!) evening. Drinks - the Sangria was pretty good, not my favorite, but the Capirania was AMAZING. My friend said the burger was the best he ever had - it had pineapple and some cheese on it - it looks so so good, I'm going to get that next time. We'll definitely be back!

After my initial review, I was contacted by the new manager to offer a gift certificate to re-experience Cafe 640 after they changed management. Although I never took her up on the offer, I have come in a few more times for their weekly Wednesday wine special. I do have to say that I have had a bit of a changed experience. I would argue that the menu has greatly improved. The veggie burger with jalapenos and Gorgonzola is my new go-to after a recommendation from our server. Tasty. The wine list is reasonable and the fries are still the tops.

I was generally unimpressed with Cafe 640 - the mussels were good, but nothing crazy special. My margarita was a 6 out of 10. The brownie with ice cream is good, but nothing special - same case with the rigatoni pasta. Overall, everything was just plain Jane, but more expensive than plain Jane at other venues. Parking is a nightmare, and it's really loud inside, FYI.

My friend and I tried out Cafe di Sol last night since it has been one of my bookmarks for places to try for a few months, and we have vowed this year to not keep going to the same restaurants. We ordered the mussels, calamari, and house chips with gorgonzola. The chips were amazing and the mussels were so good we ordered another bowl, we couldn't get enough of the Thai red curry broth. I wasn't a fan of the calamari because to me it seemed a little soggy. The flavor was nice it just wasn't cooked well enough for me. Overall, we had a really good dining experience. The food was good, the server was personable, didn't go missing for 30 minute intervals, and as soon as we would need something, he seemed to magically appear. The ambience was nice as well, very laid back, comfortable atmosphere. I would recommend this place and I will be returning as well.

The burgers and service are both great :) The beer selection is varied and priced fairly. We had a great time and will be back! Only one thing keeping it from being a 5 star, it was so incredibly loud that my boyfriend and I had trouble hearing each other when sitting across the table. I'm sure this would be a great place for a (quieter) lunch :)

We enjoyed the food, drink, service, and atmosphere and were all set for many return visits. Until we got the bill, that is. For two of us, they added an automatic 20% gratuity (including the original full price on our bottle of wine even though it was half-price night). I'm a good tipper, and I would have left 20% on the full amount of the bill, but it pissed me off that they didn't even give us the option. There was nothing on the menu to indicate that this was their policy, and I have never encountered an automatic gratuity on a party of two. We won't go back, just on principle.

This is not a good place to try on your own. This describes 80% of the restaurants in Atlanta. However, some restaurants you can try alone, sit by yourself, and strike up a nice chat with the bartender or there would, of course, always be that other person who just happens to be by themselves and both of you can talk about inconsequential things like the weather. This is not the place. Everyone here is either paired up or in a group and they all seem to be having such a great time. Why, I don't know. Maybe because they are in good company because it's certainly not from the food. The menu is limited and subpar and the service is sketchy. And it's all so dimly lit; perfect setting for date nights. But the martinis particularly the one I had (a healthy 8oz Manhattan) made up for it. Either way I won't be back by myself.

This is one of my favorite Sunday Brunch spots in Atlanta! TWO WORDS: Chicken Biscuits! GOOD GAWD! So yummy and iCOuld not even think how they made that delicious mushroom gravy!!! Also, I sipped a delicious limoncello and that went perfect w/ my brunch dish! This is a must-try brunch spot! We went following our 11am church service and there was no wait! ABSOLUTELY delicious!!!

Daily specials. Great food. Interesting menu. Could become our new brunch place. Update. Has become our new brunch place. Bloody Mary's and grapefruit with rose water martinis. Russell is our favorite server we ask for every time. We've never waited for seating even though the place is always bustling.

This restaurant has one of the best patios in Atlanta! The food was great as always. I really enjoyed the mussels, the ropa vieja and the chicken picatta. The rest of.my family loved the burger and tne trout special. While we have never had a bad service experience, we were especially impressed with our server Ciena. She was very personable and attentive!

Really delicious food and drinks! $3 mimosas. Stayed at the Highland Inn right next door and went here with my boyfriend for dinner and brunch. Excellent drink specials and beer and their cheese board and Chicken Cordon Bleu Sandwich was delicious and tasty. For brunch we did the Egg breakfast Sandwich and the single sweet potato pancake. That came with a spiced cream cheese spread that was almost like a frosting. Service was great and every one was really friendly. Would definitely come back!

I've been to 640 for brunch, lunch and dinner, and I'm always satisfied and happy. I love their $3 mimosa specials during weekend brunch, and their brunch specials are always fresh and delicious. If you're in the mood for a turkey burger, you've got to have their awesome turkey burger - OMG So juicy, and the cranberry spread they use on it gives just the right sauce! Save room for dessert too. The brownie sundae is oh so moist, topped with ice cream, and never disappoints! The bartender is always pleasant and creative, and the host and servers are down-to-earth, fast, and professional.

A nice relaxing place for lunch on a weekday. Can get crowded on the weekends, especially brunch. Fresh menu. Whether you order just appetizers or go for the entrees, really isn't a bad choice for either. Pretty loud when the place is full, so pick an off time. Easily walkable for those in VH or Poncey Highlands.

Meh, decent service but the French dip sucked. Beer could've used some ice, the silverware looked liked it had been washed a million times and they were playing Olivia Newton John. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Had the Avocado Eggs Benedict for brunch and they were yummy! Had chipotle sauce on top. The bloody mary was amazeballs and had a strip of bacon and blue cheese stuffed olive with it! Have been here before for 1/2 off wine night and it's a great place for it with the patio. 2 thumbs up!

Brunch at Cafe 640 is waaay better than dinner. Went here for the Monday buy one burger get one free special. Starting with the positive, there are lots of burgers to choose from and my burger with cheese and bacon was actually pretty tasty. Some of the side items are not as great, so if you absolutely have to go here, then just stick with the fries and burger combo. To be honest, it was the poor service and bad attitude of our waitress that really ruined our experience. Our receipt was wrong and she was convinced that it was right. She was so unapologetic about the mistake it was absolutely embarrassing. Eventually we got the new check but it took too long and way too much energy to get it. This place has 4 star potential as evidenced by my previous brunch review... It's just that the service was so disappointing that it really put a damper on the entire dining experience. My formula for success and loyal customers is this: Good food + better wait staff = return customers every single time.

Went here several times a few weekends ago when my mom was staying next door at the highland Inn. This place has an awesome patio and a great interior as well. The bartender/manager is so sweet, and our waiter was great. We came in the morning for brunch on the patio which was lovely. The charcuterie plate was so good that we got it twice! Also a great place for late night drinks. We will be back.

Based on the suggestion of one of my colleagues, I had the Turkey Melt Burger. It was delicious! I will definitely be back soon. Also had the Grapefruit Rosewater Martini. Not a big grapefruit fan but this drink was perfect.

Not worth the visit. The menu would be awesome if we still lived in 2003 and we got stuck with a super annoying server who seemed to get a little too familiar with my lady. Tall lanky blonde fellow who kept getting really close whenever he checked on our table. I understand the patio can be a little cramped but leaning in to the point where its borderline uncomfortable and awkward is not a fun time out. Perhaps one day we will give it another shot and maybe sit at the bar.

This is a nice spot. The patio is great for relaxing and people watching and has a lot of shade. The food was ok - I got the grilled Mahi sandwich and it had some good flavor but wasn't anything exceptional. The grapefruit martini looked delicious. I went with the mojito but will likely try the martini if I go back; the mojito was a little weak for my taste. Overall it's an enjoyable spot, but with so many great places in the area I probably won't be heading back anytime soon.

Just finished an amazing brunch. If I could have licked the plate clean, I would have. Great service; was busy but we were seated and got our food in no time. Loved sitting on the patio, listening to the water fountain, drinking mimosas and enjoying this beautiful spring day. I will definitely be back.

I really love their rose water grapefruit martini. The food is pretty good- some things are better than others. Their salads are my fav thing to get. The French dip is just ok - that's what I ate that night and wouldn't get it again. It wasn't warm and toasty.

I loved the patio...the service was great and I enjoyed the neighborhood. You need to get there early but this place is not huge. There is a cute thrift store next door you can check out afterwards or be totally bad and hit the cupcake shop nearby also.

Ok, so I just got back from Miami (which made me appreciate Atlanta that much more), and I wanted to go out tonight. So a friend and I hit Cafe di Sol to get mojitos in honor of my trip. Wow. They were amazing. Some mojitos I don't like at all, but these were sweet and very tasty. Plus they came in ADULT sized glasses. That's right, a good 8-12 ounce drink that got me more than sufficiently tipsy. For dinner I got the turkey burger, which ended up being incredible as well. It is easy to overcook turkey, but this sandwich was moist and came with a cranberry mayo. It may sound a bit odd at first, but it was neither overly sweet/fruity, nor did it reminisce of Hellman's. Just a wonderful spread that complimented the meat. I'd highly recommend it. I have not tried the other items in a long time, so didn't want to bias my review and give the place 5 stars for the stellar cocktail and burger, but definitely is a good start, and will be back for more of the soft-lighted ambiance indoors or the twinkling outdoor patio tables at night.

I had a burger with a few Gruyere, bacon, and grilled onions. It was pretty good, as were the fries. Actually the burger was very flavorful and juicy. I gave them three stars because they really need to improve their service. The food is tasty but you can't run a restaurant solely on the food, or you may risk losing would-be return customers. Our waiter was constantly running around the restaurant, but didn't really seem to be doing anything. There was no soap in the restroom, we told three people and during our visit it was not taken care of. Yuck. They forgot to bring out a side of bacon, he probably forgot to ring it in, but when it finally came, it was burnt. I also had the rosewater grapefruit martini, and it just tasted like grapefruit juice. I came to this restaurant once before, only I didn't stay to eat because after we sat down fifteen minutes went by before someone said "Hi, my name is __________ and I'll be your waiter". Then when that moment came, he added, "I'm really busy right now so give me one moment and I'll bring you guys some water" Ummmm....okay :/ So fifteen more minutes go by, I'm starving as were the other two I was with, and we left. Oh, yea, we still didn't have our water. We ended up at JCT Kitchen that day. Anyway, this is Cafe 640's review so let me just say the food is tasty but be prepared for poor service.

Every time I go here, I find something new I like. This weekend, I found the deviled eggs. They are pink, like picked beets, and they will change you on the inside forever. Downside: only three to an order, which means we had to cut the last one in half. Perhaps it would have been better if we'd dueled for it? Also, the blue cheese chips went nicely with our beer while we waited for a table. I've figured out what it is about the burger: the burger itself, as in, the patty, is not that great. The bun is not that great, either. What makes it special is the garlic aioli, which is so strong and so overused that you can smell it from outside the restaurant, and the mushroom cap, which is moist and adds a nice texture and flavor to what would otherwise be pretty ordinary. Lipstick on a cow, if you will.

If I could give it half a star I would. The experience was terrible!! We were running around at the zoo so we hot and tired ordered a glass of Reisling. I guess they were out and added sugar to a Chardonay. It's a much heavier wine. When I discovered the sugar at the bottom of my my glass, I asked our server who insisted it was normal. He's been studying wines and has deemed himself an expert declaring that was completely normal, like I'm an idiot, Instead of admitting they were out, he thought he could get one over and we would never know. Good grief, are people that dishonest? I understand you're out of wine but that level of dishonesty is unnerving! Not to mention my burger was suppose to be med/well it was well under medium. Needless to say I didn't send it back.

Brunch till 4 on Saturdays.. can't go wrong with breakfast foods on a lazy afternoon : ) Like most people, I was drawn to the restaurant because of the Scoutmob. I ordered the Southern Fried Chicken Biscuits... oh my gawsh it was so good! The plate came with two biscuits with chicken on top and mushroom gravy over the whole thing, along with two sunny-side up eggs. When I first looked at the plate, I was so sure I'd still be hungry by the end but I was definitely stuffed by the end. My friend order a grapefruit martini, which was really refreshing on that warm day. Service was prompt and everyone was friendly. I would recommend checking out the place when the weather is nice since the restaurant has a wonderful patio out at the front. Parking is kinda confusing since there's an adjacent lot but it's to the right of Highland Inn (which is next to Cafe 640).

Granted, that one star is based on not being served any food. We attempted to go there for brunch this morning when the restaurant was not even half full. We took a seat, were brought menus and water. The end. We waved and made eye contact several times to no avail with the one waiter who was doing something. He turned and walked away each time this happened. This is while the other waitress stood, hungover looking, near the bar scarfing down food. After about 20 minutes we got up and left. As we walked out the door, the staff lounging by the hostess stand said, "Thanks. Come again." Yeah, right.

Dined here with my extended family and kids...7 people in our party (2 kids). The service was terrible. Our server seemed annoyed that he was waiting on us...didn't even speak to ask us if we wanted drinks...just hovered near the table looking pissed. Then when we asked him about the antipasta plate and if we should order more than one for our group he just sort of shrugged, said he didn't know...the experience was actually quite weird. The food, however, was great and we enjoyed our meal...but perhaps they should switch to counter service. I wonder if the owners actually read these reviews...everyone seems to agree that the service is poor...yet nothing seems to change. Too bad, I know we won't be back.

Been to this place probably 4 or 5 times: Typical meal consists of their quesadilla and their "Truffe Mac n' Cheese" and have shared a veggie burger! The food is good... won't change your life but I have always cleaned my plate... that's all I've tried though and I will stick to it. but seriously folks, the MAC N" CHEESE is CRAZY GOOD!

I was in on a weeknight, and was really impressed. We stopped in for a quick bite and drink. The Falcons game was on, and I asked for a table with a view of one of the tvs at the bar. The hostess told the front manager, who actually lowered the full wall screen tv just for us. Great service! There were lots of people seated on the enclosed patio, so the dining area was pretty empty. My spinach salad (without egg) was absolutely fantastic, and the hummus plate was delicious- better than brick store according to some at our table. The boys also enjoyed their burgers. The beer selection was notably good, and with the food and service, I'd definitely recommend this place to others!

I lunched and dined at Cafe di Sol numerous times over the summer. They had several selections that were weather-appropriate and consistently yummy. We often had a hankering for the grilled mahi sandwich with grilled pineapple and pepper aioli. Their cobb salad was also very good, robust with plentiful toppings [we always traded out iceberg lettuce for the elitist arugula]. So it was with great disappointment that we returned tonight to discover they had done away with a few staple, reliable items. I do understand the need to switch over to a more seasonally relevant menu and look forward to the produce and fruits the new season brings. There wasn't anything spectacularly autumn-driven on the menu. The mahi sandwich is still on there, but now with a riveting, timely . . . cucumber dill tartar? We ordered the spinach gnocchi [a new item] as a starter. It was fine. I didn't bother to indulge in it too much because it reminded me of frozen dinners in college. I hate when I go out to eat a restaurant and am reminded of frozen dinners in college. At this point, the lights are dimmed even further, going from the "romantic" setting to "Helen Keller." It was obnoxiously dark. We asked our server if the lights could be turned up ever so slightly so we could see our food, or, you know, each other. We were told that nothing could be done about the lights, but that we were more than welcome to move to a table closer to the TELEVISION. The glow of the TV at the bar was the greatest source of illumination. That, for some reason, reminds me of nursing homes. I hate when I go out to dinner and I'm reminded of nursing homes. It was so dark, patrons were using their cell phones to illuminate the menus. Servers stupidly stood over them, waiting for contracting pupils and retinas to adjust. I'm not sure what the point of this feature is other than to mask whatever victuals they might be setting out in front of you. Perhaps it's in the spirit of Halloween. Whatever the reason, it's annoying. I hate it when I go out to dinner and feel like I'm hiding in a closet waiting for the monsters to get out from under the bed. The hangar steak with fries was pretty good. From what we could make out between squints, it wasn't overcooked. The trout was fair but not worth the wait. When you're made to wait excessively long for your food in the dark, the expectation is that it's being made bigger and awesomer in the back. I am going to wait the 3 or 5 or 6 months that it'll take Cafe di Sol to change their menu once more. I have had good meals there, but their current selections aren't remotely intriguing.

You are led into a room. Seeking help, you are ignored. At your breaking point, someone finally offers assistance. Though you state your needs in a precise and cordial manner, each is delivered incorrectly with an air of indifference. You bring attention to these problems, but are led to believe that you brought it upon yourself. You spend the rest of the day mired in a shame cycle. You self-medicate by devouring two boxes of Thin Mints while thumbing through your yearbook, sobbing like a preemie. "Where did this take place?" you ask. "Guantanamo? Abu Ghraib?" No, the above describes a recent brunch at Café di Sol. What should have been a joyful meal amongst friends turned into something worth contacting Amnesty International. Forgoing the patio, our group chose to sit inside. We were the only patrons to do so, which made the epic wait for anyone to address us that much more egregious. Five minutes. Ten. Servers darted past as my hunger reached seismic proportions. Raging hypoglycemia almost forced me to toot rails of sugar off the table. Mercifully a waitress took sympathy, and fielded our drink order. Thus began a comedy of errors. I requested English Breakfast tea. She returned with Earl Grey. Some think the two are interchangeable. They are not. Earl Grey tastes like how my grandmother's rowhouse smelled: part potpourri, part gym sock. After pointing out the mistake, she returned with a box housing all their teas. Chamomile Sunset, Lavender Remorse, Summer's Eve...no English Breakfast. When I pointed this out, she said, "Uh, yeah, we don't have that." I asked why she didn't just say so in this first place. "Because we have Earl Grey," she replied. Bad start. I placed my order: softly scrambled eggs with cheese, bacon, cheese grits and toast - nothing spectacular. An long wait ensued - again, no big deal - before my plate arrived. A sad heaping of dry, over-cooked eggs sans cheese huddled next to two greasy planks, toast the hue of midnight, and a crock of jaundiced muck - every component, exquisitely awful. First of all, if I am paying eight dollars, the eggs should be cooked right. Don't give me that malarkey that I shouldn't expect softly scrambled when the restaurant is busy. The lesbian artisans cooking at Gato Bizco deliver perfection no matter how swamped. Ditto for just about every other brunch place in town. And to forget the CHEESE?! Egads. Not wanting to wait another thirty minutes, I conceded defeat and only requested new toast. I was given more burnt toast. I believe grits can make or break a breakfast joint. Consider Café di Sol broke. Wan and soupy, I managed two spoonfuls before casting it aside. Brined leather - bacon, presumably - rounded out my plate of despair. Allow me to recount my favorite moment. A side had been left off a friend's plate. When informed of this, the server said and I quote, "Well, what do you want ME to do about it?" Embarrassed, my friend shut down. I wish I'd said, "You can start by giving us our time back so we could go to Ria's Bluebird, Sun in my Belly, or Stone Soup Kitchen instead. While you're at it, I also want you to resurrect my father so I can ask where he hid the money." If you seek unpredictability, attitude, and Earl Grey, then you have found the place. I, however, will be at Gato Bizco marveling over a fantastic brunch served with a smile.

I really hate to give Cafe di Sol a two star rating, because as much as I love the food, I don't think I should tolerate the service I received on Friday night. My friend made a 9pm reservation that afternoon. We were meeting there, so when a friend who got there early called to say that there was no reservation under my friend's name, we were pissed. We got there and no one, I mean no one knew who took down the my friend's reservation because 'we don't have a hostess'. So I guess someone just wrote it down on the back of a receipt and didn't think much of it. When we were told we had to wait 20 minutes for a table (after we had a 9:00 reservation) my friend asked to speak with the manager. My friend has been in food service for many years, so she knows whats what. The manger (balding white dude with a weird accent) just brushed her off and didn't even apologize for the mistake his employee made! He gave us a round of drinks, but we weren't seated til 10:00!!!! Again, I love their food, but the staff needs more training and the manager needs to acquire more people skills.

I had eaten their burger at the Battle of the Burger so I couldn't wait to try the full sized version. I was supposed to meet a friend that was late so I ended up sitting at the restaurant 4 hrs trying things. Everything I had was really delicious. Andy's Burger is my fave in all of Atlanta. The shrimp appetizer was really delicious and my brownie sundae made me want to lick the plate.

Worst brunch ever. The service was practiically non-existent...oh, except for this exchange: Us: I'm sorry, does this come with a different side? Server: What do you want ME to do about it? Comedy! Welcome to Cafe di Tude. Your food will suck. You'll pay too much for it. You'll hate yourself on the way out. I'm serious--avoid for brunch at all costs.

Whatever you think you know about this place is probably wrong. This place is a gem. The real highlight at this place is brunch. Best brunch I've had in Atlanta. I mean that. Even just something like their breakfast sandwich croissant is just incredibly good. Check it out, y'all. Worth it.

Just finished dinner. Nice friendly sidewalk cafe with inside seating also. Chicken picatta was delicious and so were the mussels with the leek and curry sauce. If you're lucky you'll have Russel for your waiter. Great guy, and great & friendly service.

Great location and ambiance, friendly service, food was somewhat disappointing. The outdoor patio was great for a summer evening meal. The live music was enjoyable and provided at an appropriate volume. The menu had a great selection of burgers, salads, and sandwiches. Our party generally agreed that the hot dishes were disappointing and seemed a bit overcooked. The house chips and fries were very flavorful though. Based on other reviews, I will definitely try them again for a burger sometime.

I just received some over the top service from Cafe 640! The manager Tesha personally delivered to the Inn next door for me. I called her from Massachusetts and very last minute! She could not help me fast enough to make my daughters birthday special!!! I have not personally eaten here but as a seasoned restaurant-frequenter I know that the hospitality in the service is 75% of the restaurant experience. I feel like with management like Tesha, the rest has got to be amazing! I will definitely eat here when I am in town! Michele

We've had fantastic meals here before. I would love to comment on the amazing brunch my husband and I had this morning (6.6.2015) at Cafe 640. Unfortunately, we never got service. On a patio with at least 3 servers and no more than 9 occupied tables, we never got service. After waiting ~15 minutes, my husband asked the hostess, Sam, who our server was. After not seeing her for ~5 more minutes - 20 minutes after being seated on a patio with, by then, 12 occupied tables - we left. Service isn't even terrible - it's non-existent. We won't go back.

Love this place. We are from Nashville but sometimes eat here for dinner and then again for brunch! The patio makes you feel like you are in a european cafe. Mature trees wrap around it and for some reason, it's never packed. The food is great, the service is friendly. The drinks are lovely. Many healthy salad options. Yesterday they had BOGO burgers which we thought would be fun for kids. Four of us ate for $19! This has never happened in our family. They felt like they were late getting it to us and gave us a free appetizer of our choice while we waited. We hadn't even finished the appetizer and the burgers were out. My daughter had a cold and Carol went out of her way to give her extra tea bags and honey and a to go cup of tea. Sometimes they have live music and we've seen the same servers there for years. They must enjoy their jobs. You can tell they do.

The Pros: A really great spot for a casual, laid back brunch. The patio is amazing, they are very generous with the champagne in their mimosas, and the food is delicious. The serving sizes are huge! I've had the French toast, brisket omelet, and the shrimp and grits. All are great! Plus, a carafe of mimosas (with a full bottle of champagne) is $18. I've never had their Bloody Mary, but I often sit at the bar and watch them make them - they look fantastic. The Cons: The food always takes a very long time to come out. If you're not in a hurry, it's no big deal, but I always end up spending way too much money on mimosas while I'm waiting for my meal! There is a shared parking lot, but if it's full (which it often is) you'll have to search for crowded street parking.

Since the change from Cafe del Sol I've been in love with this place.. I visited today with a large party of friends.. Some from out of town and others who had never visited before.. Everyone LOVED their food just as much as I always do when eating here. Great food and drinks. Unfortunately, we missed the note on the menu that says they don't separate checks however, the manager was able to assist us and save us a lot of time and headache. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! it means a lot to my friends and I and we will continue to patronize this establishment and I highly recommend others do too

Jay was out server and he was absolutely darling! The place has a Parisian vibe, but more of an Italian-ish menu. Definitely order the grapefruit rosewater martini! It is serious the best thing you'll drink in your life! It seems they get awards for it yada yada. I ordered a pasta dish and split the cappers with my "date" who also ordered another pasta dish. The pasta was al dente (surprisingly rare find in ATL) and full of flavor. I had them throw in some grilled chicken for protein. Tip: Mondays are BOGO, so if you want to try it this is the night!

The antipasto board is much yum. I was angry at the olives for having pits, but that wasn't their fault and the bloody Mary and the truffle fries talked some sense into me and calmer heads prevailed. Nice atmosphere. And Friday was a jazz trio. They did a good rendition of "Never Can Say Goodbye" The waiter was friendly, performed the nearly impossible task of talking is into a dessert... Even after my fiancee accidentally took a picture of his lower region while trying to Instagram a cute dog (BTW dog friendly)

I had good memories of Cafe 640. I took my parents and wife there tonight. I don't know what happened but it was not a good experience. I wish I could have pressed rewind and not gone. There was some issue with service. Seemed to be a lack of workers or some inner kitchen behind the scenes issues going on. My tabbouleh salad was not good. And not like I usually have had from there. Very bland and just kind of strange. Our pasta dish was pathetic and had maybe a half inch of oil in the bottom. It looked like someone that had no cooking skills put it together. For $14 I expect much more. I wanted my wife to send it back but we did not. It was not good and I felt embarrassed I had suggested this place for our dinner outing as my parents had never been. I have eaten here a number of times and thought it was on my good list. I remembered it was being good. There are too many great places in this section of Atlanta to try it again. I'm sorry Cafe 640. You lost me on this one.

Definitely try the veggie burger! My first one ever, and I wouldn't mind having one every week. The turkey burger melt is great also. I like the front patio dining experience. Mondays are buy one burger, get one free!

Cafe 640 is among our favorite regular eating spots. While not perfect, it is without fail always a very solid choice for the food, drinks and very friendly wait staff. Good wine and beer lists, and the rose water grapefruit martini is delicious, it's a great spot to visit for brunch or a low key dinner. I can be a pain for servers and cooks alike, and I've even pretty consistently ordered a breakfast sandwich that is not on the menu with tremendous results and a supportive staff. The patio is shady and beautiful even on the hottest days, but beware some crowding as locals are well aware of this fact. It reminds me of a European bistro patio. Inside is less charming, but works just fine if you're looking for a quick delicious bite to eat.

They have half of certain bottles of wine on Wednesdays. Love their patio seating for people watching poncey-highland and summer nights. The patio string lights give it a soft romantic atmosphere. The indoor area has big tv screens that's great for game days and brunches. The mimosas are great and the hanger steak is one of my favorites!

If your on a budget & have taste for a burger, they're really good, especially on Mondays when they're BOGO FREE! nothing spectacular about the service, but it's a chill spot.

Went there for lunch today and I was so less than impressed. The place wasn't busy at all and the service was verrrry slow. My veggie burger was lifeless and just flat out blah! I ordered sweet potato fries and they were cold and over cooked. If you want a lame and forgetful dining experience, this is the place for you! I will definitely not be going back.

I find myself coming back here for brunch and I'm never disappointed. I also love that there is never a line or waiting time to get seated. I got the shrimp and grits and they where made just right with sausage and yummy grits. My friend got a croissant sandwich with grits and a sweet potato pancake. She licked her plate clean. I had a bit of her sweet potato pancake and loved it. It comes with maple syrup and candied pecans-perfect. I do have to mention that it was slightly burned but we didn't complain or send it back because that's the first time they have ever gotten it wrong and we come often. Yeah, they get a break. I got hot chocolate and since I'm not a coffee person, loved it. Great accompaniment for my meal. They do have great mimosas and you can order a carafe if you have a large group with you or want to share. 4 stars because the food is great, the staff is friendly and there is no wait on a Sunday brunch afternoon.

Huge disappointment the other night. I went to celebrate my brothers birthday and before my brother got to the restaurant I preordered a brownie sundae and asked the server to bring it out after the entrees with a candle . But first let me set the stage ... The service was awful . I'm assuming it was that the dining room and kitchen were just short staffed because I only saw two servers the whole night . The food was below average . Usually I am very happy with the food, especially the turkey burger , but tonight the food was cold and my brothers shrimp were well over cooked . We ate. Didn't complain . Then we finished our meal and the server asked infront of my brother if he would like his birthday dessert . My face dropped I was so upset he ruined the surprise . It came out 30 minutes later , without a candle . I am sad that after this I am no longer a loyal customer .

Great brunch/lunch spot. Loud bustling vibe inside and out but not too much. (We Went saturday at 1pm) Good made to order food at reasonable prices--house made breakfast potatoes rock-get an extra side. Traditional eggs Benedict was first rate if not slightly over cooked(which I never mind....) lg. Caesar only had mid grade parm, but tossed fresh!

I LOVE the new menu. I had the wild mushroom ravioli tonight and my boyfriend had the trout. Everything was perfect. It would have been nice to have bread with our meal. Our server was odd, but he got the job done :) There was a slight disturbance when we entered the restaurant, so we were never greeted. Our waiter never mentioned the special pasta trio and I noticed that the waiter serving the table behind us didn't announce the special of the day, even though there was a blackboard in front of the restaurant that listed the special. The customers at that table asked about the special and the waitress had no idea what the trio was. She had to leave her table to find out what the special was. Even so, "Pasta Trio" could mean anything, so the waiters should know what it is.. The waiters need training and motivation. Otherwise, everything was great. We really like the patio at this restaurant. Great place to people watch. Cafe 640, you were wise to nix the eggplant parmesan sandwich. Your new menu is great.

I love to sit at the bar here, even though they do have a beautiful patio that overlooks Highland right next to the Highland in. Wednesday why nights are my favorite because wine bottles are half off. I brought a friend here last night who have never been before and we sat at the bar, we started our meal with the truffle mac & cheese. I know it's a side I don't but it seemed good for an appetizer and we were right! It's only five dollars and you get a nice serving of the most delicious macaroni and cheese that's not overwhelmed by truffle. My friend got the shrimp Poboy and french fries and we were both so impressed that the fries were obviously cut and house, not pulled out of the bag. We shared a plate of oysters Rockefeller which were the best oysters I've ever had in Atlanta. I spent a lot of time in the gulf so I know oysters. I had the chicken piccata and I substituted the polenta cake for pasta and it was absolutely delicious. I think this is the most underrated restaurant in Atlanta! The patio, and the private parking lot alone make it stand out for me, not to mention the food oh my God the food. It's fantastic. I also love restaurants that support local artists and they always have different artwork on their walls. Just go and see for yourself, I love this place.

I come here quite a bit as it is very convenient and a group of us meet here regularly. There is a nice patio and they updated some of the furniture recently, and the service is usually pretty good. The food is decent, not bad and not outstanding, but good and fairly priced. There are a couple of items that stand out: black bean burger, the arugula salad is quite good, and the turkey burgers are good. I wish they could do something about the sewer smell in the women's bathroom though! I think they have tried but I think it's a complicated problem to fix and that's why they haven't. I heard they have a really good brunch on Sundays but I have not yet tried it. All in all it's a fine place to have a drink and grab a bite, esp on the patio.

I've been coming here for about 3 years on and off so maybe its time to write a yelp review. The service is always great. Russell has been there for years and genuinely loves it, so you'll be happy with him for sure. Ive sat with jay twice and been quite happy. Everyone there is nice really. The food is great, but some menu items completely outshine others. For example, the truffle mac and cheese is great. The grilled grouper sandwich is amazing! The arugula/beet salad and mushroom ravioli are also show stoppers. I have never been a huge fan of their fries though... But I'm not big on fries anyway. I guess that's for you to judge. Anyway treat yourself to cafe 640. You'll be happy you did.

i had a birthday brunch here of about 12 people. I was satisfied with my food but unfortunately they were short staffed that day so food took a while. I made a reservation and someone called me about an 45 mins before the reservation and rudely asked if i was still coming but she realized she was early and apologized. the waiter was good but you could tell he was frustrated about the crowds and not much help. once we asked for something and he sarcastically joked, good luck, but brought what we asked for. I may have to go back and experience on my own but the food was good. (I had the sweet potato pancakes and chicken sausage and eggs) they just weren't equipped to handle a party of 12 so i can't give it 5 stars. parking is very limited

Oh Am Gee, this place is fantastic for dogs. It has a sheltered patio that you can sit even when it's raining. We had brunch there on a drizzly morning and we could still sit & eat with our dog next to us. I ordered shrimp & grits and the grits were creamy. Just the right amount of cheese and good amount of shrimp. YUMZ

...brunch at Cafe 640 in North Highlands consisted of the Cafe salad (organic mixed greens, shallots, cherry tomatoes, goat cheese, dried cranberries w raspberry vinaigrette) & the half Cafe blackened chicken salad sandwich on multi grain bread! Excellent pricing, delicious food and exceptional service. On a scale of 1-10, I give this spot a 8 1/2!!!

One of my favorite spots to est in Atlanta, great for a cute date. They have had the same menu forever but its spot on. Some highlights: - turkey burger with cran mayo - grapefruit martini's - craft beer & wine selection - HALF OFF BOTTLES ON WEDNESDAY - Burger specual mondays - roasted chicken stuffed with bleu chz - mussels - FRENCH DIP SAMMIE Service is spot on most of the time, but its casual service. Its super close to inman park and some bars on highland. If your lookin for a cute place for wine and to bring your sog etc, here ya go

Love this place. Good drinks and nice service.it's a nice patio aswell. live Music from 5 to 8 on Sundays. They got a pretty good picker on the patio. The people who eat brunch here however are terrible. Some are still lingering around at 5pm and are rude demanding douche bags. This just proves my argument that everyone should have to work in the service industry for a year after they graduate high school. I think the douche bag cliental would decrease and you would learn how to tip. Always 20% if not more. Tipped employees in Georgia get $2.13/hr. ( which they never see). The food is good here. I had a po boy and my hommie had the turkey burger. We didn't talk when the food came, inhaled it and ordered 2 more 3$ mimosas to celebrate the supreme court ruling. TREAT YOURSELF!!! I think we should have got the $6 mimosas in a wine glasses in retrospect. I'll be back for sure, it's really chill here during the middle of the week.

I love coming here for brunch! Great drinks (the grapefruit rosewater martini is delicious and my fiance raves about the bloody mary) and a quality charcuterie/antipasto tray with yummy meats and cheeses, plus olives and a pickled egg and a slice of grilled bread. It's one of my favorites in the city! They also do half off wine bottles on Wednesdays, which is a great deal! The outdoor porch area is fabulous too, especially in the spring/fall when it's mild out. This is definitely a top spot for when you just want to chill with a nice drink. I've never been super impressed with the entrees I've ordered here, so that's the only reason I docked a star. The food has always been good, but not fabulous, and there has always been something kind of off about the flavors for me, at least for the dishes I've ordered (salmon salad, roasted turkey sandwich), and the house chips have an odd flavor to me and my fiance... we just don't really like them. I do recall though that the truffle mac 'n cheese is delicious!

Went here for Sunday brunch. It was pretty packed so appreciated the fact they take reservations. Location: Next-ish to Highland Inn; there was a parking lot for the restaurant but it was also a lot to be shared amongst two or three other restaurants. We ended up parking on one of the side streets. Atmosphere: A lot more spacious than I expected it to be. Cute and casual on the inside, nothing fancy or special but felt homey. Food/Drink: The food was pretty tasty. Ordered the biscuits and sausage gravy and it came with eggs and grits (my pick over the potatoes). The biscuits and gravy were really good, soft biscuits. Eggs were eggs. And the cheese grits were pretty tasty, too. Had the Bloody Mary and it was good, had a kick to it. While I thought it was a decent Bloody, my husband claims it was probably one of the best he's had, and he's been somewhat of a Bloody Mary connoisseur lately. We did have to wait about 45 min for our food to come out but the hostess/maybe manager came to our table about 20 min after we put in our order to let us know it was taking a little longer and apologized for the wait. We understood considering it was busy at that time and the fact we were a table of 12. Service: The service was part of what made it a pretty good experience. Our waiter wasn't the most attentive (meaning he wasn't hovering every 5 min) but he was on top of it and accommodating with everything our table asked of him. He was also friendly and cordial. The same lady who apologized over the wait time of the food was really helpful and patient in the beginning as far as seating 12 people. That's not always easy when the restaurant is crowded and there's not tons of space to work with. Really good experience all around!

I met my friend here for brunch the other weekend. The weather, which had been unseasonably cold for way too long here in Atlanta, finally, finally started feeling like spring, so we agreed to try out Cafe 640 and possibly snag a spot on the coveted, covered patio. Apparently, everyone else in Atlanta had the same idea, because when I arrived around 1 PM it was full up. No matter though, they had the doors and windows wide open, so I grabbed a tall table with a prime view of the street and settled in. The menu for Cafe 640 isn't huge but it's solid and almost everything offered during the week is available on the weekend plus brunch favorites like pancakes, French toast, steak and eggs, and the like. I decided to try out their tabbouleh salad with grilled chicken, and my friend got the huckleberry pancakes with sausage. The tabbouleh salad was larger than I expected: lots of tabbouleh, carrots, grape tomatoes, cucumber and goat cheese with a lemon vinaigrette and warm pita squares and a generous serving of grilled chicken topping it. Wow - by the time I got through with that salad, I was stuffed. It was pretty tasty (especially for a place that isn't solely Mediterranean), but I wasn't blown away. And judging by the voracity with which the pancakes, syrup and butter were consumed, I think they were a hit too. Service wasn't bad, although at by the end of our lunch, we had empty water glasses which weren't refilled before we exited. And the check was split and processed quickly too. Overall, I think a lot of the appeal lies in the patio. The food's ok (not outstanding, just fine), but the ambiance, I'm sure is what's earned this place good marks. It's got a great covered patio, a great location of the Poncey Highlands, and a great view of the street traffic. So if you want a nice place to kill time, have some lazy drinks (the drink menu's extensive) and maybe an appetizer, I'd recommend it. For a great, memorable meal though, I'd look elsewhere. Maybe Pura Vida next door.

I L-O-V-E this cafe. I'm serious. You have to eat here at least once. We spent valentine's here, followed by mani/pedis and the bookstore. The day could not have been more perfect. Try the liver, your whole body will kiss you!

I loved the atmosphere of Cafe 640. Perfect for some Sunday brunch and people watching. I ordered the Florentine Benedict with spinach and fried pancetta, and it was tasty but nothing to write home about. My boyfriend got a Bloody Mary that I got a sip of and enjoyed. We'll be back!

This place is beyond M to the EH from my experience this afternoon. The server is who made the experience crappy, followed by the food. First off she was friendly, but then kinda aloof when we started asking for silverware, salt, water, etc. Her attitude made my group of friends feel very unwelcome. As for the food, I had an overpriced and overdressed house salad, sans cheese. It was deep dressed with the vinaigrette dressing that I could not even finish it. Six bucks for this?! Me thinks not. TL;DR: Cafe 640: never again.

Good food / always consistent. I've been coming to this brunch spot for about5 years. In the last two their services has gone from superb to mediocre. There has been many occasions that I am seated and not attended for 15 minutes or more. This is not an isolated issue as it has happened more than twice. Pls train your staff, there is a reason why this place is not crowded on a Sunday at noon.....

Dinner: Grilled Chicken Panino: Grilled Chicken Breast, Baby Arugula, Roasted Red Peppers, Provolone Cheese, Balsamic Vinaigrette on a Pressed Hoagie Roll with House Fries Food: 3/5 Atmosphere: 2/5 Service: 5/5 Average: 3 This place was a little over-rated. It seemed as though there were a lot of regulars there when I went with friends for the first time. Our waiter was extremely nice and very quick. The food was... meh. It was not worth what I paid, I'll say that. I was expecting something slightly more impressive and tasty but did not get it. While I understand I only had one sandwich at this place so I do not have a lot of room to say the restaurant is over-rated, my friends only somewhat liked there food too. Maybe if I happen to stop back here for some reason I will be impressed by another menu item, but as my last experience holds... it's just ok.

It was my birthday, and as much as I would have liked to completely forget about it, my friend insisted on taking me to brunch. I'm glad he insisted. Cafe 640 got my day started with a big-old grin. Table on the patio, a delicious cup of coffee, and this beautiful plate of fried chicken biscuits with two eggs, sunny side up. The gravy over the chicken and biscuits reminded me of an Italian marsala sauce, with savory mushrooms. In true Todd fashion, I flipped the food vacuum switch and that stuff was gone in a flash. A perfect way to start celebrations for the 17th anniversary of my 29th birthday. Ha!

The one star is for the water. It was cool, crisp, and delicious. That's where our story unfortunately ends. I won't mention the peculiar smell. The one that smells slightly like a nursery covered with the pungency of cheap candles. I will mention the fact that after waiting around 30 minutes on a slow night for service we defeatedly left for better service down the street. I'll go back for the water.

Worst Friday night experience: We walk in and are hit in the face by a sewer smell. Turns out, Highland Inn (next door) was having some serious issues, and it was affecting (seriously, seriously affecting) the smell of Cafe 640's dining room. After being seated inside, we requested to move outside to the heated patio. None of this was a huge deal. What was terrible was the service we received from our waiter (a tall fellow with a hat). Every time he came to refill water/coffee, he leaned over the women on one side of the table, pretty much leaning on them to reach glasses that were not far enough away to warrant that rudeness. When my boyfriend asked how a dish was prepared (fair enough question), the waiter made a [terrible, awkward, un-funny] joke that insinuated he was going to mess with the food if my boyfriend ordered it in a special way. Boyfriend made sure to order a very simple sandwich. Every time someone at the table ordered another beer, the waiter pretty much rolled his eyes. When it came time to pay the check, we started to point to who would pay for what items, but he cut us off to let us know that they didn't split checks. OK, fair enough, that's not unusual. No problem. It was just unfortunate that his delivery was very possibly the rudest I've ever experienced. Hey, buddy -- you don't have to be a waiter at this restaurant if you're so unhappy! We were pretty surprised by how overpriced everything was, not to mention we were charged for an extra beverage. I urged my friends to correct the waiter, but NOBODY at the table wanted to deal with the guy anymore. He was that obnoxiously rude. I wanted to mention this to the manager/owner (the woman who had originally seated us inside), but, again, we all just wanted to get out of there. We agreed we wouldn't return. Restaurant management: Your food isn't bad! You have a nice patio! I just wish your server had allowed us to have a better dining/drinking experience on a lovely Friday night. We won't be back.

Great hamburgers; really great rose water grapefruit martinis, nice patio. I really enjoy this place and it's never been crowded when we've gone (which is nice for us, but I don't think it gets the credit it deserves). Reasonably priced.

What a interesting place. I came here for a burger because I heard this place was good and it did not disappoint. They have much more than burgers, and everything looked great, but the burger I had was simply great. The service was great as well. A really neat place.

It was alright. I got a burger and it was fine. Not great, just fine. I got brussel sprouts as my side and they were pretty tasty. I went on a Wednesday and they had half-off bottles of wine, so that was fun. Overall, it was an okay place, but nothing special.

Have been there couple times last week (May 2014). The food was excellent. You can feel that the really experienced chef is in the kitchen. Tried their Mushroom ravioli, it was perfect, al dente. Lobster was wonderful to. Very decent beer selection. But the biggest thing I enjoyed is a very friendly stuff. Made me feel so cozy and welcome. Not just fake smiles, but sincere interest in a client.

Brunch is what we came for and brunch was had! Brunch was, just OK. Kinda disappointing actually... We had 10 people for Brunch which can make or break an eating experience. ew sat outside on a beautiful day, the porch was real nice. Most of the time, servers fail when they have that many but our server did very well. She smiled the whole time and looked like she was enjoying herself. She was fast on the water and drinks and the food came out fairly fast. We even had someone arrive after we had ordered and they still got their food with ours...good job Cafe 640! The menu looked great with a good variety of items to choose from. Omelets, to French Toast, to burgers...I was initially impressed. I settled on the Croque Madam. The portion was nicely sized but the food was just really bland. Everyone commented on the blandness. I heard a lot of, "Eh, it's ok". The inside is very nice and like the ambiance of the place. The deck was pretty cool although a little noisy being right off Highland. There's a small lot over by the Highland Inn for parking. If you don't make it there, take to the side streets if you can. Parking is at a minimal but so goes that part of town. Worth a try! Maybe lunch is better, maybe I'll find out soon.

What a disappointment! Used scoutmob to go here yesterday and it was a huge waste. The place itself is not bad, cute atmosphere. I ordered the roasted turkey sandwich, and had to wait 45 minutes for my food! And on top of that it wasn't even good, the avocado on the sandwich was soggy and strange tasting, the spinach on the side had a burnt taste to it. The server was horrendous, he left trash sitting on the table until we had to ask him to remove it, same way we had to ask for cutlery and napkins when our food came. Overall it was a bad experience and I would not recommend this place to anyone.

We are coming back. This place has been changing its name quite a bit since we lived here, but the Scoutmob and good reviews drew us. The atmosphere is pretty cute, lots of good energy. The patio is nice but it was loud the other night, so we sat inside. The bar is nice. The service was good, although a little slow since it was so busy (the server apologized, and we didn't feel disrespected by having to wait a bit). We had the mango jalapeno martini, the hard root beer, the antipasto plate, and the pastrami reuben. The mango jalapeno martini was awesome. It had more of a tinge of jalapeno flavor than a whole bunch of jalapeno spice, which was good. The hard root beer was good, but since I don't usually have much sugar, I got kind of high off of the cane sugar (note to self...). The antipasto plate was really good. I usually eat vegetarian, but sometimes I like a good cured meat. The local meats were nice, and the cheese was really good. Even the bread was good. The marinated mushrooms were delicious. My dining companion had the pastrami reuben, and said it was as good as the pastrami at The Wrecking Bar (which is a positive comment). We will definitely be back.

I came here two days in a row thanks to Scoutmob and friends wanting to try it out. On day 1, I came in for brunch. My friend and I were looking for somewhere that had a late brunch (past 3 p.m.), served mimosas, and was something new for both of us. This place serves brunch until 4. We got there around 2:30 on a Saturday afternoon and I was surprised at how busy it was. I had the croissant egg sandwich. The gruyere pulled me in because it's one of my favorite cheeses. And it was tasty. A little greasy overall, but tasty. We also had a carafe of mimosas which were more champagne than OJ, which I appreciated. On day 2 I was still thinking about the place and suggested it when he said he wanted pub food and I said I wanted a sandwich. Again, we came in around 2 on Sunday and the place was filled almost to capacity. This time I had the cafe burger and subbed fries for the cafe salad (+$2). I loved the salad, light but full of flavor. And the burger was one of the better burgers in town. Maybe it was my love for gruyere again that made it so amazing but I thought it was cooked perfectly, not overdone like at a lot of other places and the garlic-herb roasted shiitakes gave it a different flavor profile than any burger I've ever had. Looking forward to coming back on a Monday for the BOGO burger specials they have. Service wasn't great either days but wasn't terrible either. Just took a little while for our waitress to come around and check on us from time to time.

This place is laid back and comfortable. Small menu, but what's on there is great. The wait staff is fine and the patio chairs leave a little to be desired. But a great place for lunch any day. Except Monday. I have been here several times and have yet to have a bad experience. the "nachos" are a favorite. They do have their own parking and it is located in a great space. I do recommend

I was recently lured to Cafe 640 as a result of their Scoutmob promotion. I must admit that I was initially somewhat skeptical about the place, as Scoutmob has recently seemed to turn into a mechanism for drowning restaurants to take one last gasp for breath before sliding below the surface. Fortunately, Cafe 640 is a welcomed deviation from the norm. Food: Cafe 640 serves French bistro fare with an underlying American twist. During my first visit, my dining partner and I opted to start with the blue cheese chips, which were topped with a generous amount of gorgonzola cheese and sriracha. The fresh cut Idaho and sweet potato chips were impeccable and the sriracha literally kicked the dish to the next level. For an entree, I opted for the blackened chicken salad sandwich, which was served on a croissant and was incredibly flavorful. I decided to upgrade the side to mac n' cheese, which subsequently proved to be a disappointment. Although aesthetically pleasing in an individualized bowl, it was severely lacking in flavor. Service: Friendly and efficient. I didn't feel like I received substandard service because I was using Scoutmob, which tends to be the case at many other businesses. The waitress also didn't include the compulsory 18% gratuity, which was refreshing. Atmosphere: The decor of Cafe 640 is incredibly simple, but it's welcoming nonetheless. I'd consider the patio one of their greatest attributes, which is heated in the winter. Cost: Moderately priced, but well worth the cost. Appetizers are $5-$9, sandwiches are $9-$11, and entrees are $14-$20. Other: Parking for Cafe 640 is located to the right of the front entrance along the side of the Highland Inn. Additional spots are also available in the lot behind the Plaza Theater.

The wife and I are on vacation and are staying at the Highland Inn. Turns out that right down stairs is Cafe 640 and we're too tired to look for elsewhere to eat. We pop in for a snack, since we missed lunch, before taking a nap, then off to dinner. We walk in and they tell us that we can sit anywhere. We choose the patio since it's so nice outside. Gotta take advantage of the nice weather before summer rolls around and being in the sun is an invitation for melting of your skin. We sit for a minute or two and a waiter comes and takes our drink orders and gives us menus. "What's good here?" Him: "Depends what you like." The wife: "What do people rave about here?" Him: "The burgers, the salmon, the...." We finally decide that we shouldn't eat too much, so an appetizer it is. Hmm.. These stuffed peppers look interesting. The wife: "Tell me about the stuffed peppers." Waitress: "They're the size of a cherry tomato. They're more sweet than they are spicy.. They're one of my favorite things on the menu." The wife: "Okay. Let's do that." So we sit for a bit, long enough that I go to the hotel to check-in while we're waiting and when I get back, the food is just getting set on our table. Perfect! The stuffed peppers come back and it's really more like bruschetta. It's a piece of french bread with tomato and the stuffed peppers in a cream sauce. Not anything like I was expecting. There are only two pieces, so we each get one, pray and start. The stuffed peppers are extremely good. I'd even go back and get it again, if I weren't here to try more places. I told the wife that I thought the cream was the worst part of the whole dish, but even it was pretty good. I thought it could have used a little more flavor, but it was by no means unpalatable. We walked out with a bill of under $10 before tip. Atlanta, you're 1 for 1 for good places to eat.

I LOVE Cafe 640! The turkey burger melt alone is enough to merit my five star ranking. This burger is phenomenal, coming from someone who has yet to try a turkey burger that I like this is a very generous compliment. To be honest this is the best burger I have ever tasted, of any kind including beef. YES it is that damn good! It comes with a generous portion of house chips. The manager is always very friendly and comes around frequently to ensure that each guest is enjoying their dining experience. As far as customer service is concerned they hit the nail on the head. Every person I encounter here has been great. The salmon filet is also very good, but I cant seem to get enough of the turkey burger so I dont get it too often. BOGO free burgers on Mondays!

Thanks to Scout mob I've been here 2 times and both times enjoyed my food and the selection of beer. I like the fact that they offer french fries and chips, both made by hand. This time around I had the fish sandwich with chips. The dressing/sauce they used in the sandwich went very well the seasoning on the fish. I liked it but what I liked more was the salmon salad that my fiancee had. The salmon was well cooked and had an awesome flavor to it. There is also a good variety of beers available and patio seating. I would say this place deserves another visit for the brunch options, especially with a Scout mob.

The glowing Yelp reviews put this place on my radar and the Scoutmob deal put it on my calendar! So glad we went for brunch -- can't wait to go back for dinner and lunch. Cute, casual, understated space with friendly wait staff. My brunch pal had the spinach salad with salmon (looked delish) and I had the spinach and caramelized onion omelette with potatoes (perfectly cooked and not greasy). This place is becoming quite popular - call to let them know you are coming (re; make a ressie). I should mention there are lots of TVs inside - so be forewarned. Fun spot for a meal before exploring the area or taking in a walk along Freedom Parkway. Parking can be a challenge - you can park in the nearby lot for the hotel.

Well, after hearing my friends rave and rave about Cafe 640 and their offerings for Sunday brunch, I was delighted to finally be in town this past weekend and able to partake. And I must say - Cafe 640 did not disappoint! In fact, it was sublime! I ordered the Southern Fried Chicken Biscuits which are served open faced with homemade mushroom gravy and two sunny side up eggs. Even though the fried chicken was true perfection, for me the mushroom gravy was the most outstanding thing I've put in my mouth in years (I haven't had gravy this good since my grandmas cooking when I was younger). At my friends urging, I also ordered a single blueberry pancake as a side and will freely admit - it may be the best damn pancake of my life, with the freshest of blueberries. And as good as it was (and believe me, it was GOOD), I tried my friends sweet potato pancake (which was the special pancake of the day) only to discover that it was even better!!! (a nearly impossible feat)! The only thing that could have made the pancakes better would have been if the syrup was served hot (I'm sure they would have accommodated had I asked). To top off this terrific meal, the owner came by and asked how everything was... After a short discussion she learned it was my first visit to 640 and quickly said, "in that case I owe you a mimosa!" And that my friends, made a magical meal, spectacular! Lucky for me I'll be back in the A this coming weekend and have already firmed up plans to return on Saturday to try their lunch menu and this wonderful sounding brownie sundae I keep hearing about (I'll review this after my upcoming visit). I implore my fellow yelpers.... GO CHECK THIS PLACE OUT!!!! You will not be disappointed. (and did I mention, the patio is perfection in and of itself)!

You had me at cheese plate! Great location, great food, great service. Was able to use a SCOUTMOB so a reasonably priced meal was even cheaper. The "Mrs" and I had dined in a restaurant at the same location several years ago and remembered it as being "un-rememberable" so we were a little skeptical to go since we weren't sure it was the same place. Well, it is not. The covered patio is great no matter what the weather is, and it the large dining area connects to a bar to create a neighborhood joint feel. Parking is easy in the adjoining lot for the Highland Hotel, and they are on Open Table so reservations are easy to make on those busy weekend nights.

My experience at Café 640 started out a little shaky, but it definitely turned into an awesome dining experience. I'll start at the middle: the food was fantastic. Between me and my two buddies, we ordered the braised beef omelet with potatoes and grits, the Café burger with fries, and the Southern fried chicken biscuits with mushroom tarragon gravy. Everything tasted perfectly homemade. I didn't know this would turn into a country-cooking restaurant, but that's pretty much what it turned out to me in terms of the quality of the flavor and seasoning of the food... but with a classy near-Midtown Atlanta twist. When we arrived, we sat there for about 20 minutes and still no one had served us, so we went to find someone and we ultimately talked to the manager. Everyone including the manager was very apologetic and the manager offered to comp mimosas for us. I informed her that I and one of my buddies did not drink, and asked her if we could have a single pancake each (which was the same price as a mimosa) as our comped item and she graciously agreed. Can I tell you that pancake was divine! That was the best, most perfectly cooked pancake I've had in a long time and my buddy gobbled his down in seconds (which kinda shocked me!). I devoured mine at a more reasonable pace, but I enjoyed it just as much. It contained very fresh blueberries. The blueberry flavor was almost overwhelming, but I couldn't complain too much because it was indeed delicious. The food was so good that I'm still thinking about it days later. This place is awesome and I think I'll brunch there again on Sunday! Or maybe i'll use the Scoutmob during the week!

This is definitely one of my favorite brunch spots in Atlanta. I have been here twice for brunch and have had great experiences each time. I love the location, free parking, outside patio and the ability to be seated right away. I had the crab cake benedict the first time I was here and I really enjoyed it. I was a little disappointed when I tried to order it again and was told it is no longer available. Our server was very accommodating and allowed me to create my own brunch order! I also had the grapefruit rose water martini which was pretty refreshing and tasty. I hear the turkey burgers are really good so I'm planning to order that next. I really like this place and consider myself a regular since I plan to visit often!

I got the salmon. It was really delicious! Love the atmosphere and feel to this restaurant. Nice red wine selection. The service was good at first, but as it started to get busy, we had to wait 15 minutes for our check.

Alright, okay, tastes good, anyway... Café 640 has changed names since my last visit. Apparently it wasn't a very spectacular affair, since I had no idea I had eaten here. When I walked through the door, I remembered everything. Funny how that works. Funny how that parking works. There is barely enough parking for the amount of drivers in this area, but this is unsurprising. Café 640 is located in a very cozy part of town. No room for parking lots, here! At any rate, I had to park at the Highland Inn. I would like to give Café 640 a hand. G and I had a wonderful server named Jess, who was able to give us great drink recommendations. I chose a dry Argentinean red wine, while he ordered the rosewater martini. Both were very good picks. The appetizer menu is "safe" and has a lot of options you would find anywhere else. Such as calamari, truffle mac & cheese, hummus, and crab cakes. Next time, I plan to try the mussels, as they were the most "adventurous" on the list. Ha. I ordered "the" organic, grass fed chicken which was stuffed with goat cheese. What? Cheese? Give me that. The chicken was served in a delicious cream sauce, on the bone, with brussel sprouts and carrots. I was probably given about 9 oz. of chicken, and could not finish it all. I was very satisfied with the care and preparation of my meal. Chicken is usually "the white girl" pick, as my friend Xun will tease. BUT I was happy with the unique flavors. The salmon entree was also very good. It was served with light and fluffy sweet potatoes and (what looked like) creamed spinach. Mm, I got a small taste before G and I silently annihilated our plates. This visit to Café 640 was no comparison to my last. I will definitely be back!

Great brunch. Would have been nice if they had a children's menu.

Love sitting on the patio here while enjoying a couple drinks with my wife on a fairly regular basis. Freshly squeezed vodka drinks and ropa vieja are our favorites.

Worst service I've ever had. Consistently slow, but one time a server actually insulted me for no reason! He acted like he was on something. The other servers had to cover for him, and did an okay job. But we will never come back. There are too many places with great food and service to waste time here.

Great place for dinner with girlfriends. The grapefruit rosewater martini is so delicious and I think it gets better every time I go. The Cafe Burger is great, but this time I decided to branch out and try the mussels. They were pretty good. Not the best I've ever had, but the coconut curry broth was different and very good. I would definitely order them again. Service was a bit slow, but I wasn't in any hurry and our waitress was very sweet.
