This restaurant was the closest to a good Asian Hibachi restaurant. This place is good for guests from out of state who want simple Asian dishes. Anything with rice and meat is simple and good.

This was by far my worst Benihana experience I have ever had. We arrived 10 minutes before our 6pm reservation Saturday evening and were sent to the back bar to wait since there is almost no seating at the front. We spent was 25 minutes there watching people let their children run loose before they came to take us to our table. I made a pit stop in the ladies room and it was awful in there. First, my shoe nearly ripped off of my foot because the floor was so sticky, then there was no toilet paper but both toilet seats were covered in pee! To top it off, someone left a dirty diaper in the middle of the floor - so I turned back around and decided to hold it. Now, this would usually say more about the patrons than the restaurant, but I cannot forgive that an hour later when I made my second trip to the bathroom, nothing had changed. GROSS GROSS GROSS. At the table, the servers and chef were friendly, and I felt for them because the people we shared the table with kept making changes to their orders and special requests last minute, but they kept up with the demands and managed to keep the difficult group happy. That said, the food and sauces tasted really bland. Normally, I am loving the flavors of the shrimp and steak but this batch was barely seasoned and the steak was tough and full of nasty gristle. I had a tough time getting over the fact the shrimp were not properly de-veined, in fact many pieces had the slit in the back but they didn't bother to dig out the waste. Yummy, right? At $30 a plate, they need to pull it together. Overall, I am very disappointed and want to wash my hands just thinking of that night.

Not the best or most updated Benihana I've been to, but customer service was decent. Our chef was new, so I can't knock him for that....

First time at this location in a while....it was also my last. Had the Hibachi lunch. Service was bad, cook was bad. After getting order wrong, nothing was asked or done to make it right. Pretty much, oh well. Instead of fried rice we received warmed steamed rice with oil & soy sauce. Very stingy with meat & vegetables.

Service is consistently horrible whenever I come here. Food is decent but clearly customer service isn't a priority

I've been here several times for lunch and once for dinner. Overall, everything here is just fine. Nothing great, but no complaints, except for the price, I guess. I think dinner is overpriced, even for the amount of food you get. Lunch is more fairly priced. At lunch, don't expect all of the fun bells and whistles from the chef (e.g. onion steam volcano, cracking an egg on a spatula). The main goal at lunch is to get office workers in and out in an hour. Although I'm sure if you are there for a leisurely meal, you could get them to do all of the cool tricks. I almost always get the lemon chicken and I love that the lemon flavor actually comes through. Mmmm lemon. You can enter from inside Peachtree Center Mall (go down the narrow escalator near the information desk) or from outside on Peachtree Center Ave.

For Valentine's Day, I thought that going to get Hibachi would be a nice. However, it quickly turned bad once we arrive to the establishment. First, it is incredibly difficult to find. We were 10 minutes late to our reservation wandering Atlanta because there isn't any indication it's there. Once we arrived, there was no one there to seat us. After a while (aka me poking my head around looking for someone) a man very rudely told us we had to wait, because there were no available spots (I get that I was late, but come on). Once we were seated, a very demanding waitress took our drink order and gave us menus. Since it was Valentine's Day, there was a prepared menu that came with soup, salad, an appetizer, an entree, and dessert. They were NOT very accommodating of my shrimp allergy, and we never got dessert, even though we had paid for it. To top it ALL off, several homeless people came through and began to pan handle. There was graffiti in the bathroom and the food didn't even taste that good. I will never return to this establishment.

Two stars is generous, not surprising all of the restaurants average 2.5 stars. The food was bland. I've had much better ginger dressing on the salad. The salad was watery like some of the lettuce had been frozen. The chef was bored and did nothing to entertain us. Literally nothing. There is graffiti in the bathrooms. The hostess was totally discombobulated and it took forever to get seated even though the place was just half filled. The tables are meant for 6 people, 8 max. Ours had ten seated. This meant I couldn't eat with chopsticks because I couldn't put my elbows out, it was like I was in a straight jacket. No cellphone signal. No Wifi signal. Atmosphere seemed worn and old, like it was in need of a good remodel. I rather unenjoyable experience. I won't be back. Let me say that I have to question all of these five star ratings when there are so many 1 and 2 star ratings.

This place is ran waaaaay better than the other one across from Frank Ski's! The staff is more polite, there wasn't a long wait and the customer service on point! Our chef was a good cook, but his "routine" was kinda sorry! He needs to practice a little more! He dropped his shit too many times and he missed his pocket each time he tried...He blew it! lol!! But, at the end of the day, it's about the taste of food and he was great on that! So that made up for his shitty "Routine."

Me and my husband frequent the Buckhead Benihana and have never had a problem with food quality or service. We came to this location for a friend's birthday dinner. I felt like I was in a basement and the ventilation was horrible. Super smokey in this place. Not cigarettes but from the food. We apparently we supposed to have 2 tables but was only seated at one. The food here was very bland. I won't go back to this location again. I suggest going to the Buckhead location.

Tough one to review for me, but at the end I settled on 4-stars. I love sushi, and try to seek out a sushi bar in every town I visit. I had, however, little expectation of finding good sushi in Atlanta. So when I discovered there was a Benihana next to my hotel, I figured that was as good of an option as any. Benihana is the restaurant that introduced Japanese cooking to a larger American audience. I had never been to one before, and decided to give the venerable chain a shot. I arrived on a weeknight, when they feature the "All you can eat sushi" option. There is a set menu to this, of course, but it provides plenty of options. I had a bit of confusion at first when I was handed the menu and it stated that I could only choose 5 items. "This is not all you can eat" I thought, and switched my orders from nigiri to rolls. Another diner and I struck up a chat and he was also ordering this, and pointed out that it was five items AT A TIME. This makes sense (to prevent waste) and the sushi chef stepped in and said he would make me both the nigiri and rolls I wanted, no problem. I opted to start with five, but the chef was attentive and starting making the other items I wanted after I finished my first round. Rolls were presented beautifully. The spicy rolls were a bit of a letdown - just not spicy enough - but the rainbow roll was great. The Vegas Roll was beautiful - much prettier and tastier than the Vegas roll at my hometown sushi spot. Fish quality was good. Selection of types were limited, but I had several orders of two of my favorites - yellow tail and mackerel. Both were fresh and delicious. And the sake quality here is strong - the warm sake is of a much higher quality than your typical "neighborhood" sushi bar, which usually uses the generic Gekkeikan for warm sake offerings. Sushi is, to me, a form of comfort food. Japanese "soul food". And, not surprisingly, there wasn't a lot of "soul" in this big chain restaurant. It seems that Benihana is the place that people who don't know/like Japanese food go for Japanese food. It's the place that the one lone sushi fan drags all of their friends who have never eaten sushi to. It's the place where sushi-loving travelers meet at the sushi bar and chat about how much they love their own local sushi place (as I did that night.) But still, they delivered high quality fish and beautifully presented rolls at a reasonable price. I've paid more for worse sushi at trendy DC-area sushi bars. Add in the slightly higher sake quality, and this was a solid experience for me. If I were in the area again, I would go back.

possible food poisoning. i had the filet mignon, medium rare. it was served really rare. 10 hours after that, i suffered violent vomiting and diarrhea. my advice; just look at this place. does it look clean? no. that should have been my first warning. if you do eat here, make sure everything is well done.

Tonight was my first visit to Benihanas and it was really good! We were arrested fairly quickly and our waitress was very attentive. I had the chicken fried rice and a spicy tuna roll. When I say this was some of the FRESHEST tuna I've ever eaten...honey, it was good! LOL I will be going back to Benihanas!

We went in May during a convention. Food was better than the Benihanna two blocks from my house in Encino, Ca. Juan was our chef and fun even though we knew the show. It was a delicious treat.

I love this Benihana! The customer service is great and they really show their appreciation for your business. The last few times I've went, my cook has been Javier. He's a nice guy and a good cook. Lerna was my server the very last time I went and she was a sweetheart. A gentleman who I suspected to be the manager came around and made sure everyone sitting around me was satisfied and he also took our pictures and gave us a nice copy. But enough about the customer service, the food is good and I enjoy it, but the rice is a little bland. Also, the food doesn't taste the same reheated, so I don't recommend taking it to-go unless you're going to eat it as soon as you get home (or back to your hotel). I definitely recommend Benihana, you'll enjoy the experience and food!

This location is better than the one in Buckhead. I took my niece to an early birthday dinner last night to use her $30.00 birthday voucher the chef table sent her. We did not read the fine print where now an adult entree is required before you can use it where as before it was just worth $30 dollars. Anyway, we walked in around 7PM and there was no wait and the restaurant was not really crowded at all. I took off a star because the server was very slow. He did not remember to bring out our drinks which really annoyed me. Our Cook was really good though, he did a lot of cute tricks on the grill and the food was good. I would come back to this location again.

Disappointed. I've heard of people talk about Benihana, and hear rappers rapping about it, but don't believe the hype. I went with a group of friends during lunch time after a graduation, and even though we had reservations, we had to wait for 45min. There was 11 of us, and the manager tried to seat us all on one side of the table. Then, our waiter was rather impatient with us. (probably because there were only 2 waiters on duty, but that wasn't our fault) anyway, it was freezing in the place and when we told the manager, his response was "it's only on 70!" Really? The food was OK. The veggies were good, but the rice could have been more seasoned. The food was better than the service. Probably won't go back for that reason.

I have never been to a restaurant where the staff seemed to care so little about the customers. The hostess was less than helpful and didn't even instruct us what to do after we have left our name. It more seemed like she was suggesting we leave. We sat down at the table eventually and the waitress was unhelpful when I asked for advise about the menu as a vegetarian. She didn't even know what the dishes were served with. I said I couldn't eat tofu and apparently my only option was to take it off the plate as they wouldn't substitute it. She was very very rude. So eventually we decided to leave as we couldn't justify spending our money there. I have truly never been to a restaurant with such bad service. We looked on yelp and ended up at Tokyo boat in Roswell which was excellent if you are looking for hibachi and superb service!

I hate giving meh reviews but it had been about 10 years (easily) since I have been here and with a steep bill for the special occasion at the end of the dinner to show for it....I am just gonna say it: it's gone down hill. 1st - steps of service were super slow .... like "if you just bring me a glass of wine now all will be forgiven slow". Alas, I forgave her but only b/c she was a sweet heart and the coupon hagglers were the root of the problem. The chef was cool and his tricks were snazzy. My young sons enjoyed the show for sure. We left stuffed; had a good time at our little corner of the table. This is the thing....the atmosphere in the place was the biggest downer. I like a good deal for sure BUT when you sit there waiting for 20 mins to get drinks ordered as the other half of the table (both parties) haggle over what they GET for free, its hard not to just think MEH. Or, maybe just make your coupons easier to understand for staff or customers to deal with (granted I didnt see the paper, I just know it took 20 mins to get drinks on the table) -- either way....Couponing while out to dinner is a kill-joy. I am following my gut next time ....and will be heading up Buford Highway.

My wife and I came here for my birthday on my suggestion as I had never been to a Benihana. Luckily for my wife, it was my choice therefore she doesn't feel guilty. The service was fine, the quality of the food was where I had issues. The food didn't really have any flavor. They did use very fresh shrimp though. If anything, I can say that I have been there. Only once though.

Where do I start... Well we went here on a Saturday night for a friend's birthday celebration. After some members of our party finished drinks at the bar we were seated. It was a comical night, the service was blah and the quality of the food was horrible. Eight of our party ordered hibachi dinners. The hibachi chef was lame, lacked enthusiasm and did bare minimum. He couldn't seem to keep the orders straight (had no idea who had chicken vs shrimp etc) He looked like he had just rolled out of bed and had a look of angst when questioned about his mistakes on the order. My dinner mate and I ordered from the sushi menu. We had the sashimi sampler and a dragon roll. The sushi was not fresh at all, the edges of some pieces of the sashimi was dried out...ugh, disgusting. Based on my experience, I really can't say anything good about this location or see the need to return

We came here after a convention with my boss and co-workers it was close to the bosses hotel I love Sushi and was introduced to Benihana at my first company Christmas party 12 years ago. Since then I have matured taste buds for Sushi and tasted better Sushi from the Chef at the local Ralphs supermarket. The shrimp was too oily and our Chef was boring. Thank Goodness the company footed the bill. We waited a long time in the lobby the service was blahh! Would not waste money! But love the lucky Cat meow:)

1st off ...Food/Cook were great. Friendly staff. I was visiting ATL for a graduation. I originally wanted to go to the Sundial but it was closed for renovation. Since I don't live in Atlanta I tried to accommodate at least the graduate in restaurant preferences. He could have gone to 5 guys and been cool. A few weeks ahead, I made a reservation for 10 for a 12:30 after graduation lunch. My loving graduate invited folks that were not in mind when making the reservation. The place was packed ...other graduates had the same thing in mind. I'm writing this review only to give Kudos for the attempt at accommodation that the Beni's staff had. I needed to change the meal time (that is complicated for a group of 10). Then, I had the nerve to get there with 2 additions. Although we were squeezed around a 10 person table like sardines, the staff did a lot to quickly get us seated even with the tardiness and the additional party members. Provided separate checks (gratuity still included). Overall despite complications that I added, service and meal were good.

Do you enjoy waiting an extra 30 minutes for an on time reservation because your table was given away to someone ten minutes /after/ you arrived at the restaurant? Or maybe you enjoy being directed to a table missing five chairs while the hostess disappears and nobody helps you find new place settings for fifteen minutes? Or perhaps waiting an hour and a half for your chef to appear? If you can't get enough of any of these things, stop by Benihana in downtown Atlanta. Or save your money and go elsewhere; for this sort of price I'd expect halfway okay service at least. All of these things happened to our party of 20 when we arrived for our reservation. Never in my life have I been left at an obviously too-small table and then expected to run around the restaurant to find our own chairs and menus. The servers ignored our obvious problem while this was going on, serving other tables instead until a manager was finally found. Said manager was completely unhelpful, offering a halfhearted sorry and finally some chairs, and obviously making no effort to make sure that the rest of our evening was less of a hassle since it then took another hour for our food prep to even begin. We finally left two and a half hour after our reservation, and will probably never be returning. Two different complaints have been left with corporate, and so far there's been no answer or explanation for this behavior. It looks like nobody at this chain is really concerned with guest satisfaction.

Save your time and your money by sparing yourself a visit to this location. Was sorely disappointed in the customer service, timeliness in which I was waited on, and the overall atmosphere and cleanliness of the location. Have been to a several other Bennihanna locations and have had a much better experience, will not be visiting this one again.

I had the most horrible experience here today. Our table waited 45 mins just to begin the cooking process. I had a spicy tuna roll that was mushy and I could barely find the tuna in it. Now my stomach is doing flips. The couple next to us had to have their food boxed up to eat at their desks. Our entire table had a complaint to the manager. The cook was not entertaining and did not greet the group at all. It took the waiter 20 mins to bring back change. I was late going back to my office. The manager was nochalant about the concerns of our table. She had a that is not my problem attitude. I will not return to this establishment. I am very dissappointed in the service and quality of food. I have been a visitor to this location a few times in the past for business lunches and celebrations. I would not recommend this resturaunt to clients, my family, or visitors to downtown. Please take your business elswhere.

Okay. What Asian restaurant that serves sushi runs out of chopsticks??? Hello! I was forced to eat my sashimi and california rolls with a freakin fork. If I sucked at using chopsticks, that's fine. However, I happen to be quite proficient at the art of eating food with two wooden sticks. Grrr. Aside from that, everything else was decent. I went for lunch and didn't have to pay an arm and a leg for my food. Their lunch prices are actually really good. My lunch boat consisted of miso soup, spring greens with ginger dressing, edamame, 4 pieces of california roll, shrimp and veggie tempura, chicken teriyaki, steamed rice, 4 pieces of sashimi (tuna and talipia), and an orange. All that for $9. It was a ton of food and didn't take too long to make. My teriyaki chicken was overcooked and dry but I was so full off all the other stuff that I didn't even care all too much.

Ate there for lunch today- we choose to have the express lunch which is really convenient for people in a hurry. But it was nothing spectacular. The hostess stand is really odd placed and the ginger dressing on the salad is really different. If your in a hurry for mediocre food - good place. And the prices were not bad for lunch.

The food was great. I had the spicy hibachi chicken and fried brown rice. However, the cook was rather uninspiring. He looked like he didn't want to be there and ignored the requests of other guests at our table. He only became more responsive after complaints were made. He messed up multiple portions of their orders. Overall, I would definitely go back and won't judge the restaurant as a whole off the cook.

Bad sushi. Bad service (although to be fair they may have been understaffed). I had 5 rolls - didn't like any of them. Miso soup ok. Edamame good. Beautiful presentation of rolls - bad taste. My plates stacked up on top one another (no bussing whatsoever). Water always empty - had to ask for more every time. Would never go again, wouldn't recommend to anyone.

I was so looking forward to visiting a legendary Benihana. In Orlando all we have is Kobe's which is OK but not something I'd go to unless it was to celebrate someone's birthday. I must say I was very disappointed in Benihana. This location was small and had a dungeon-like feel being under the Peachtree Center. Prices are high and the food is bland. Benihana does not offer noodles as an option, only white rice. The mushrooms are sliced impossibly thin in the soup. The only vegetable you get with your meal is zucchini. And while the white sauce at Kobe's is delicious, the sauces at Benihana are forgettable. Armando our "Japanese" chef wasn't even especially entertaining or friendly. I'm glad I went once because now I know I'll never need to visit another Benihana.

WOW. I was in Atlanta for a work convention and a co-worker asked me what I wanted to grab for dinner. I only suggested Sushi and she said "Let's go to Benihana, they have an assortment of dishes in case you don't like your sushi". Man was she right. The place was packed due to the convention but we didn't have a wait at all. There was enough room to fill the place and as the place was filled, others waiting didn't wait long either. We sat down to a Chef cooking in front of us and was he talented. I have gone to a place like this before but my experience was "BLAH". Here, I was so intrigued and in awe. The dishes that was served to us was magnificent. We each tried each others dishes and were shocked from the way things turned out. Of course, I ordered my Sushi as well and it was amazing. I was too full that I couldn't finish everything. Our dedicated waitress was great and attentive to us. It's hard to be attentive in places like this since there is so many people and it's not a normal sit down place. It was a bit pricey but it was worth the experience at a place like this. I don't know about the rest of the Benihana's, but this one totally made up for my lost experience at Kobe Restaurant in MI.

Only 1.5 stars so far? I can't believe it. I was with a group of 8 so if it was bad, I suppose it was because my company was so good. I had the Benihana Excellence- steak and shrimp. The veggies were good, the rice was good, it was all served to us as it was ready so I was eating the entire time. I also ordered a mango pina colada smoothie (non-alcoholic) and for just a few bucks extra you can get these drinks in a ceramic figure. It was cute. It's a little pricey but it's a fun experience- and they don't throw shrimp at your head like Hibachi does so I LOVE that.

I have been to the downtown Atlanta Benihana location many times for lunch and for dinner. I recently went for dinner and had a wonderful experience. From the hostess to the server to the cook, everything was very nice and the food was absolutely delicious. Of course, there was more than I could eat at one sitting so I had a take home bag full of food to take with me. They thanked us for our patronage and were very courteous the entire time. I will definitely return!

Pretty lame all around. The food was dull and kinda greasy. I think the theory is to coat everything in garlic butter and soy sauce and hope for the best. When the fried rice is the best part of your meal, i think it says everything. I don't think our "chef" spoke any english which didn't exactly make him very engaging. His skills were pretty limited. I asked for my steak to be as rare as possible and it was handed to me well done and tough. The shrimp was ok but way too buttery. Dipping sauces were pretty bland also. If you like food that has all the spice and flavor of Piccadilly then this place should be right up your alley. Enjoy!

My coworkers and I go here for lunch. Our cook was very good and entertaining! The wait is usually short. However, the bathrooms were not clean at all! They have two stalls and they both were disgusting! other than that it's an alright spot if your downtown and you have a taste for Japanese food.

*Note: The location is wrong on the map - this restaurant is at Peachtree Center, which is in the block between Peachtree - Peachtree Center and International - Harris.* This location is kind of hidden in the bottom level of Peachtree Center. The clientele is mostly office workers at lunch and people staying in the surrounding hotels. Benihana offers pretty standard hibachi fare, but the food is never particularly good at any location. The food is generally very simple and bland and does not use high quality ingredients. You can probably get as good if not better food at any Asian food court restaurant honestly. The reason to come here isn't particularly for the food, but for the entertaining experience provided by the hibachi chef on the grill. Now, if your Mexican hibachi chef is absolutely bored and the least skilled hibachi chef ever, the entertainment factor is zero and you end up eating mediocre food that is way overpriced. Welcome to Benihana at Peachtree Center!!! 1

I thought Benihana was decent, but I can't really rave about my food. My date really wanted to take me there since I had never been, but I wish we had gone elsewhere. My shrimp was a little bland and not what I expected for the price. I'm glad I didn't have to pay for this mediocre meal.

I was really disappointed with the service that I received today (December 20, 2012). My husband and I both have birthdays in the month of December and are signed up for the Chef's Table; therefore we decided to visit for dinner with our two children ages 3 and 5. I told the server (young lady/didn't get her name) that I wanted two orders of the hibachi chicken/rice because my children would not eat that much of food. Well when the checks came my check was correct but my husband's was not. His check included his meal in addition to everything that we ordered for our children. There was an additional $20 on the check for two hibachi chicken. I spoke to the young lady and explained to her that I only ordered two of the hibachi chicken rice. She stated that she thought that I wanted that in addition to two hibachi chickens. She then proceeds to tell me that's why my children received the soup and appetizers. I then told her that maybe it was a misunderstanding and everyone at my table received the soup, salad, and appetizers; therefore I assumed that the children are suppose to receive them as well. I have only been to Benihana's twice prior to my last visit. The first time was for my birthday about five years ago and I received no discount (I had a birthday dinner about 10 people were in my party at the buckhead location). I then came last year with my husband and children again and ordered the same thing. Coincidentally we had the same young lady from last year, this year. I had a great time my first two visits. She remained polite but I could see that I needed to speak with a manager. The manager comes out and speaks with my husband and I. I then explain the same thing to her as I explained to the server. She then states the same thing that my children received soups etc and basically we should have said something. Now I am furious. I believe I also heard her say something to my husband about how we didn't want to pay the additional portion of the meal and that's when I stated that it was not the point. My husband is now furious as well and tells her that we have money to to pay it and she stated that she did not say that. Now I am sitting here thinking, that my husband and I both are not mistakenly hearing things. I also told her that I would not order that much food for a 3 and 5 year old. My children barely ate anything. The manager then states she will remove the additional charge this time. The chef also questioned the server about something she did wrong when she wrote up the ordered and she replied I'll take care of it and laughed it off. I believe this was the error she made and attempted to make us pay for it. There was another gentlemen at the table with us and he heard her as well. I was embarassed and felt as though we were being discriminated against for using our birthday certificates. The manager did not offer us an apology and placed the entire blame on us. With all the endless restaurant options in atlanta I will not be returning, with/with out a certificate. I have also contacted corporate.

I don't really understand why the rating is so low here. I thought it was great, but I also have similar joints to compare this one to. There is a place called Miyabi that is very similar to Benihana's and there you pretty much pay for mostly rice. I didn't feel like they pimped me on portions here, they had a great show (hibachi style), and two different managers came by to help clean up. We also got our picture taken (it was not a special occasion) and they printed and framed it free of charge. Our meal was complete. The meal included soup, salad, the main entree, and dessert. We had ice cream and it tasted great. I was not too impressed with the salad, though. The fried rice was really good. I suggest ordering fried rice with filet mignon & chicken.

Don't bother going here on a Sunday Night, it is virtually a ghost town. As the other reviews said the food is kind of bland nothing special except for the show and you better be lucky to get somebody good. I do recommend the tuna steak, this is probably the best dish on the menu that actually has a good flavor. The Benihana in Jensen Beach Florida is a lot better, but the food is pretty much the same at any of them.

I visited Benihana downtown on June 15, 2010 for lunch. I vow to NEVER step foot in a Benihanas ever again in life. The service was ABSOLUTELY horrible. The cooking presentation was absolutely ZERO. There was no onion funnel, the cook doing any tricks or anything like that. There were two occassions the chef (Eleo...I believe that is how you spell his name) left the grill while he was cooking our food. There was one time he saw a guest that he knew so he went across the room chatted for a moment with the guest and then returned to continue cooking. The other time one of the ladies asked did he have something and he left to go back to the kitchen. The food was bland and the rice portion was ridiculously small. The sauces were horrible. When I go to different hibachi restaurants all the sauces taste the exact same. Benihana I guess try to deviate from the norm which they need to stick to the basics. Also the ginger tasting salad dressing was different. This place gets Two Thumbs Down and is a disgrace to the Benihana's franchise.

We were the first table sat for dinner and waited 45 mins only to be on the salad course. The manager refused to accommodate us and even became angry with me for asserting that we received terrible service. This is my first and last time here.

Hibachi is always great for a group, you're always guaranteed a Great show! Benihana downtown is no different. I was there with my team the night before 2 Day Walk for Breast Cancer (Pink Ladies)! We were given shrimp for appetizers and it came with the meal! I had scallops with steamed rice and the usual veggies. It was good, but I will say it was a little overpriced. I think you are paying for the name. Hey it is Benihana!

My coworkers and I go here for lunch. Our cook was very good and entertaining! The wait is usually short. However, the bathrooms were not clean at all! They have two stalls and they both were disgusting! other than that it's an alright spot if your downtown and you have a taste for Japanese food.

As good as ever. Still the best of theses type cook at your table grills. Our cook, Juan was great and not only cooked everything perfectly but he put on a great "show" while doing it. My wife's hi ken was the best we had ever tasted.

I've had better. The food was alright and the show was somewhat boring. I would go to some of the local hibachi places or Nakato's.

Saturday night dinner. Was not worth the price at all. Ordered sushi full serving but was served a dish of portions cut in half compared to other resturants, I ordered the Samurai Treat; should of been a filet minion and jumbo shrimp, I was served whatever the japanese chief (Juan) decides to put on my plate at $35 a plate it's very disappointing food. I wouldn't recommend this as a resturant to visit. Keep looking you'd be better off at at a fast food spot..

the 1st time I went here, it was hard to find via GPS. So the 2nd time I went for dinner at 5pm and parked across the street from Benihana. The cook we had seasoned the food perfectly and it was better the 2nd time going. Love this place in any state I have been to them in CA and HI. They use veggies unlike CA and HI they use bean sprouts, this ATL one used veggies which I love since I'm trying to watch my weight. Will go again

This restaurant was the closest to a good Asian Hibachi restaurant. This place is good for guests from out of state who want simple Asian dishes. Anything with rice and meat is simple and good.

Enjoy!

Benihana is a-okay in my book. Is it the most traditional Japanese meal you could get? No. But that doesn't mean it's not delicious. This particular Benihana seems to draw a vast audience. Despite being right in the middle of downtown with all the big corporations, I still see many families and "casually dressed" people. Most opt for the hibachi experience. As for me, I try not to fall too much into "You are what you eat" category or rather, "You smell like what you eat," which is what tends to happen when you sit at the grill. In the back, they also have a bar, a sushi bar, and a couple of tables to sit at. My co-worker and I sat at a table and ordered from the grill. She got the chicken and I got the spicy chicken. The entree is ~$10 and comes with salad, fried rice, hibachi veggies and the entree. The salad is pretty fresh and comes with iceberg lettuce, matchstick carrots, tomatoes and orange ginger dressing. I though there was a bit of overkill on the dressing but otherwise, a decent salad. Fried rice is deliciously buttery as usual. The chicken was plentiful and flavorful. Generally, a decent, American-Japanese place to dine for lunch. One thing I did notice, I think they use a lot of MSG or salt in their cooking because I was ridiculously thirsty for hours after my meal.

Well, technically they have hibachi food. And if you like cheap cuts of meat being showcased by theatrics, then you should be okay. I don't know. It's okay. It should suffice. You know what you're getting when you walk into Benihanas. There aren't many restaurants doing what Benihana's is doing, which is Japanese-themed, table cooked meals. My recommendation is to skip Benihana's and go to the Korean-style BBQs you can find on Buford Hwy and Duluth where you cook food yourself. The meat seems to be a bit tastier.

Pretty good lunch sets if you don't want to sit down at the fancier grill table. $11 ish got me spicy chicken, scallops, veggies, fried rice, and a salad. Everything was delicious and service was on point. They also serve sushi, which a table next to me ordered. Seemed fine. By later lunch hour the place was packed! Takes card. Don't know about the parking situation, but the train stops right next to the food court.

For me, Benihana basically amounts to expensive stir fry and decent sushi, but hubs likes it so we go on his birthday. This year we were in Atlanta on his birthday, so we hunted up a Beni Hana downtown. First of all, this is maybe the worst location ever. You have to pay for parking downtown and walk to the restaurant. It is in the basement of a run down mall that looks to be on its last legs. Second, they had a ridiculously long wait for the middle of the week (almost 2 hours??), and the host wasn't exactly friendly. To the good, Benihana now has a salmon entree with noodles on their menu. I don't know if it is new or I've just never noticed it before. I much preferred this to the usual stir fry of meat and veggies, so I enjoyed this birthday trip a bit more than usual.

Arrived around 12:15ish on a Tuesday for lunch and the wait time is around 30min. So I wouldn't recommend going here for your lunch break. But I think they also offer express lunch...maybe I'll get that next time. Lunch time is either soup or salad with your hibachi meal. Make sure you let the waitress know....or else she will give you salad. Anyways, when the chef arrived. he offered us three sauces: -butter garlic -shrimp sauce -ginger sauce I liked the shrimp sauce the most. Butter was good at first but it was a little too salty after a couple of dips. Anyways, after the chef come out, my experience was a lot better! We were entertained by chef Linh and he was extremely nice and helpful! He gave us a great show (choo choo trains and flying eggs and much more) and cooked everything to perfection! I got the hibachi chicken (10$) while the bf got the lunch duet, he picked steak and scallops (14.75$). The chicken came with mushroom and I love mushrooms! We also were suppose to get green onions as well, but because everyone at the table didn't like green onions, they excluded that from ours as well. So boo. But I'll overlook it this time since the foods was good even without it. :) steaks was cooked perfectly and scallops was a good size! Totally worth the price. Overall, it was good! To end my lunch, I ordered the green tea ice cream and it was alright, wont order again. Overall I would come back again to try their lunch boat. P.s. there's public parking right across the restaurant for 5$ (2 hours.)

If you seek traditional Japanese food, look elsewhere! If you want Americanized Asian food, this is your spot! The wait is usually 20 minutes, minimum. They are great with the different specifications for guests. I don't have them but I have seen others who do & they are filled. Lunch time wait today was long and the cook has yet to arrive at the table. Not really crowded, just slow today.

Was recently here for the Primerica Convention. We had reservations at 8pm and did have to wait a long while. Our cook was Juan who was so awesome! Our runner was Hamid also great. the food was good and the price even better. I will say I did not like my drink which tasted more like a water down pina colada.

Came here with a group while at a conference. The restaurant was very accommodating and seated us within 10 minutes. The food was delicious and very filling. It is always very entertaining place to go. Our waiters were on top of everything. Refilling drinks and making sure all our special dietary needs were met. Definitely would recommend. Great variety of food selection on menu.

Standard hibachi. Servers didn't make us feel welcomed and it was a challenge to communicate. Edit one day later. All of us got food poisoning and were sick for a day and a half. Stuck in the hotel room, ruined trip to ATL.

$30 FREE COUPON ON YOUR BIRTHDAY. Go to their website and sign up. This coupon is only applicable after one entree from the tepanyaki menu has been purchased. Honestly, this is about the only time I will go. Parking right across and during weeknights, it is $7, or you may find parking somewhere farther for a couple of bucks less. Marta is also an option since it is only a few blocks away from a Marta station. It is easy to miss cuz their sign is so small, so keep a good eye out! MAKE RESERVATIONS ahead of time!!! YES. Please do, especially on the weekends and do not be late! FOOD: the food is indeed, delicious, especially their seafood. The surf and turf @ $29 was most definitely delicious. I also had the spicy hibachi chicken that came with mushroom and green onions, and at $19, I wasnt too impressed. I wish they get rid of the green onion and maybe replace that with bamboo shoots and maybe season the chicken and let it marinate in some seasoning cuz aside from the sauce, it really didnt have much taste to it. All tepanyaki meals come with onion soup (yum), salad with japanese ginger dressing (yum) a small appetizer of grilled shirmp with zucchini and onions (yum - although the onion was quite misplaced to me.) If you opt for fried rice, it is an additional $3.50 for one serving (bowl) of it... honestly, thats a bit much, but it definitely does make a huge difference in the meal experience. We had the steamed rice and the fried rice version, and the fried rice is delish. After the actual meal, you also get a scoop of either vanilla, strawberry or chocolate sherbert which finished off the meal nicely. I cannot give it more than three stars because we waited 45 minutes before the chef came out. Our waiter announced that he is still new several times, but his mistakes was definitely on our expense. It was a bit awkward and everything took so long that I was turned off by the time the chef came. It wasn't even a full house? Anyway, our chef was Linh and he was funny. He was very patient with the other folks in our table as well. There were four super fussy (and borderline annoying) women that was seated with us, and Linh definitely carried himself well in handling those women. All in all, it was okay. We had two tepanyaki entrees and nothing else, and our tab came to about $65. Thank goodness I had a $30 bday coupon. But still, OUCH. So, I say, take advantage of it during your bday, but other than that... it is a bit pricey and the wait was just too long.

This is my spot for lunch during Dragon*Con weekend. The staff and food was wonderful! The food was served fast and quite delicious. Now, it does it get very busy at times during D*C weekend, but it was worth the wait. Sadly, you don't get a cellphone reception at all. I think its due to being deep inside the building.

We came for the Bonzai Happy Hour. The Sushi rolls were great and huge! Our server was great and friendly. The only reason I gave it 3 stars was because of the lack of WIFI. Now, usually it's not a big deal for me. However, THERE IS NO CELL SERVICE IN THIS PLACE. For a downtown establishment, how do they expect business people to dine here and not have ANY service for the entire time they are dining? I mean honestly, you can't even "check in" there. Big fail for me. They are obviously stuck in the 20th Century if they don't thing this is important.

I totally love hibachi but didn't expect to be coming here on my trip to Atlanta even though I saw it on Google Maps. I am glad I did. Delicious food, even though I didn't finish. I came with a friend for an early lunch, a little too early even though it made me late for other things I wanted to do that day in Atlanta, but I wanted to take my friend out to lunch. Naturally, the place was pretty much empty when we got there, I really wish hibachi chefs were Japanese like they used to be when I first started eating at hibachi places as a kid. Now they're all Latino and whatever else. I'm not a prejudiced person, I just like traditions. Our black hibachi chef called me a "Yankee" and that felt kind of good, nice southern experience along with our meal. Salad was not good, but everything else was delish. Service was decent.

We made a reservation and arrived 15 minutes prior. We asked if we could sit at the bar and wait for our table, we were told the bar was full. There were 2 people sitting at the bar and it had about 6 chairs. While waiting for our table, an older lady told the young man at the front desk to ensure that everyone (whether you had a reservation or not) waited at least 10 - 15 minutes before taking them to their table. The food was over priced and I had food poisoning the next day. It was so bad that I could not leave the hotel room until after 8pm. Never again!

Met former coworkers here. i had hibachi spicy chicken. serving is enough for the right price. big place for a japanese restaurant. overall, food and service is ok. i hope they can do sonething with the after smell that sticks to your clothing. not ideal to get lunch and after had to go to work.

This place was terrible. Long wait for waitress to come to table to get drink orders 35min. Asked for manager to know why the wait. He was rude and short saying that they were short staffed. I love Benihana but I will never go to this location again....

My subpar experience began before I made it to dinner. I called into the restaurant 4 times to let them know that I was running late, none of the prompts got me to a member of the staff. After finally finding the restaurant and walking over from the parking garage, I come in to tell the hostess that my party arrived. We were about 10 minutes behind schedule. She greeted me with a blank stare. After telling her two more times that we were there and ready she finally responded to say, "You are late" as if that wasn't part of my initial statement when telling her the party had arrived. After a 45 minute wait, we were finally seated at our table and waited another 20 minutes or so because they were short staffed on cooks. Once our chef arrived, the experience turned around for the better. He was great and very fun. He allowed the birthday boy to have a bit of time on the grill as well. Overall, the service after we left the host was average but the actual host needs to find something else to do other than hosting if she wants to have an attitude with the customers.

(1)Kenneth N.

(5)Whitney T.
(4)Renee W.

(2)Lorie D.

Was really looking forward to a good meal but ended up with over cooked scallops instead. Service was subpar. Disappointing.

(3)Jennifer M.
Not a great experience. Surprised at the food, bland and small (meat and shrimp) portions. Will not return.
(1)Bryant H.
(3)Katie B.

(4)Sarah K.

(5)Turbo G.
Enjoy!
(1)Pat G.
My coworkers and I go here for lunch. Our cook was very good and entertaining! The wait is usually short. However, the bathrooms were not clean at all! They have two stalls and they both were disgusting! other than that it's an alright spot if your downtown and you have a taste for Japanese food.
(3)Charles C.
As good as ever. Still the best of theses type cook at your table grills. Our cook, Juan was great and not only cooked everything perfectly but he put on a great "show" while doing it. My wife's hi ken was the best we had ever tasted.
(4)John P.
I've had better. The food was alright and the show was somewhat boring. I would go to some of the local hibachi places or Nakato's.
(2)Ben H.

Went to Benihana's last year while visiting a friend in Atlanta. Funny I had never been to the one in Miami, but heard rave reviews. My overall experience was just OK. Nothing Major
(3)J L.
(4)Tobias R.

People...let's stop going to over priced places like this one and start going to "hole in the wall" restaurants ...for ur wallet and palates sake lol Anyways food here is ok..not worth the outrageous prices Also..the management here is brutal..they talk mad crap about customers The head chef: chef Lin is good and fast on the grill The others are mad slow..and boring Good news! The sushi rolls here are awesome thou..ask the server for the "spicy chili roll"...really good Try "no mas cantinas" in atlanta

(2)Sara M.

(2)Michael O.

(5)Connie H.
We went in May during a convention. Food was better than the Benihanna two blocks from my house in Encino, Ca. Juan was our chef and fun even though we knew the show. It was a delicious treat.
(5)Whitney T.

Was really looking forward to a good meal but ended up with over cooked scallops instead. Service was subpar. Disappointing.
(2)Liz S.
(3)Jennifer M.
Not a great experience. Surprised at the food, bland and small (meat and shrimp) portions. Will not return.
(1)Bryant H.
(3)Katie B.

(2)Mai T.
(4)Sarah K.

(5)Makeda H.
Always a birthday treat for me to enjoy dinner here with friends and family.
(5)Brian L.
It's a large chain hibachi. You know what you're getting here.
(3)Samantha H.
(3)John S.
(2)Kelly G.

(3)J L.
(4)Tobias R.
(2)Loren J.

Went to Benihana's last year while visiting a friend in Atlanta. Funny I had never been to the one in Miami, but heard rave reviews. My overall experience was just OK. Nothing Major

(3)Kristin L.
They were awesome! The drinks were cold and fresh! I'm gluten free not by choice and they accommodated greatly! Thank you Carlos your food was delicious!!!
(5)Paula M.
Was recently here for the Primerica Convention. We had reservations at 8pm and did have to wait a long while. Our cook was Juan who was so awesome! Our runner was Hamid also great. the food was good and the price even better. I will say I did not like my drink which tasted more like a water down pina colada.
(4)Marjorie K.
(4)Andrew M.

(3)Jhon C.
(4)Brion C.
(3)Nicolas M.
(4)D K.
(1)JP Y.
Met former coworkers here. i had hibachi spicy chicken. serving is enough for the right price. big place for a japanese restaurant. overall, food and service is ok. i hope they can do sonething with the after smell that sticks to your clothing. not ideal to get lunch and after had to go to work.
(3)Debra C.
This place was terrible. Long wait for waitress to come to table to get drink orders 35min. Asked for manager to know why the wait. He was rude and short saying that they were short staffed. I love Benihana but I will never go to this location again....
(1)Artieka S.
