I've been meaning to try this place out for years. It was very good. In one of my favorite neighborhoods in the city. I had the pork and green chile burrito. It was excellent. I'd go for 5 stars if I didn't pay $.75 for the sour cream and then they barely put any on there. Also, the chips weren't that good. But the few I did have, I dipped in their salsa and the salsa was great. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a good local burrito place. Local.

Usually ranks on the best buckhead lunch lists. It's sort on that awkward line between midtown and buckhead. Had the pork and chili burrito with chips and a side of guac. Burrito was pretty awesome, guac was decent.

One of my favorite spots to eat in Atlanta. It will not disappoint. Choices include burritos (duh), quesadillas and tacos. If you can catch a homemade tamale on a Friday, try it. It's a great lunch spot for those who work on the south Peachtree part of Buckhead, and don't want to walk or drive far from the office. Go for the pork and green chilies burrito if want want to taste their nationally recognized burrito. I personally go for a shrimp burrito with their creamy guac. Here's the break down: The Good - Super tasty: It's one of the best burritos in the country. You can cross-check my research on that. - Easy access for lunch. If you can walk to this establishment, it's a no-brainer for lunch or dinner. Parking usually isn't an issue at lunch either. - Tamales on Fridays. Just do it. - Beverages for days. Mexican Cokes, Monday Night beers, Cheerwine on tap, oh my. The bad: - Pass on poultry. I read a lot of reviews of people dissing the chicken. Skip it and go for another protein. This ain't chipotle. - Flimsy chips. Tough for dipping in guac, but they glide through salsa. - Long lines. This place is one of the best, so the lines tend to get long during peak lunch hours. Is it worth the wait? Absolutely. The Ugly: - Parking. I hate to say anything bad about this place, but parking can (on occasion, I might add) be tough around dinner, and lunch if things are crazy. It's a shared lot with Sufi's and R. Thomas, so it's bound to happen from time to time. The "Wrap" Up: - Stop by for lunch or dinner for fast casual dining from a solid local establishment. You'll see why it's one of the best. Foodies will flip for the pork & green chiles burrito. Get it grilled if you're feeling frisky.

I got the Green Chiles burrito, and it's one of the best burritos I've ever had. I definitely wish there were more greens (lettuce mainly) to give it that extra crunch. The small was more than enough to get me full and the free chips were a nice bonus. The restaurant itself isn't that big, but there is plenty of seating inside and outside. Prepare for a leg workout if you park in the lot in the back. The entire lot is on what seems like a 45 degree incline.

Bell Street Burritos opened October 2013 in the Brookwood neighborhood of South Buckhead (just north of Midtown). After short stints on Howell Mill Rd. in Westside (closed Summer 2012) and a location at Irwin Street Market (closed September 2013), hopefully this location is here to stay. It's next door to Sufi's and across Palisades Rd. from Saltyard. To park, pull into the narrow driveway between Sufi's and Bell Street. Tell the valet folks you're going to Bell Street and they'll let you self-park for free in the back. The parking lot is on the side of a hill so use caution when opening and closing doors. I was a fan of Bell Street's Howell Mill location and was disappointed when it closed. Fortunately, this Brookwood location popped up and it's not too far from Westside. It's a simple, small, casual burrito joint with picnic table-style seating right on Peachtree St. Indoor seating available too. Bell Street serves Mission-style burritos -- those giant burritos which originated from the Mission District in San Francisco. In Atlanta, they're most commonly served by Chipotle, Moe's, and to a lesser extent, Willy's. In terms of size, I think Bell Street's burrito is the biggest. Unlike the other guys, Bell Street is small and locally owned. At the time of writing this review, there are only two locations: this one and a downtown location inside the Sweet Auburn Curb Market on Edgewood. If you want to support local small business and/or are tired of the same old chain burritos, go to Bell Street. You won't be disappointed. The food is tasty, satisfying, and filling, and the service is good. The menu is simple: burritos, quesadillas, and tacos. I've tried both the burritos and quesadillas. I've yet to have a taco here. The burrito is too hard to pass up. The burritos and quesadillas will set you back about $5-8 each depending on ingredients. Tacos are $2-3 each. Burrito combos are available for an extra $2.50 (chips, salsa, fountain drink). They have tamales on Fridays. Conventional burrito protein fillings include chicken, pork, and steak. Unconventional burrito fillings include green chiles, potato, broccoli, and shrimp. Special burrito combinations are available such as chicken and broccoli; potato, broccoli, and green chiles; and steak and shrimp. I like the pork and green chiles burrito. The green chiles are mildly spicy. By default, all burritos come with pinto beans, cheese, rice, and salsa fresca (pico de gallo) in a flour tortilla. There are several additional ingredients you can add such as cilantro, jalapeno, onion, and even spinach. Some of these are free (e.g. cilantro, jalapeno, onion, various salsas) and some cost anywhere from 50 cents to a dollar each. Squeeze bottles with red and green salsa are available next to the fountain drink machine. In general, I've found the burritos to be fresh and flavorful. The burritos are served nice and hot in double-wrap foil. The proportion of ingredients seems just about right. The tortilla is soft and moist. It's one of the better burrito tortillas around. A handful of tortilla chips are included with most orders. These thin chips are presumably made same-day. They're appetizingly crisp and delicate. A little oily as well. The quesadillas are good. In both the burritos and quesadillas, I think the melted jack cheese is the best part. It's smooth, buttery, and slightly nutty. Almost addictive. For dessert, try a sopapilla. These are hard, deep-fried tortillas covered with butter, honey, and cinnamon. Very sweet. They also have creamy milkshakes. Calling in for take-out is a popular option. The restaurant is closed Sundays.

Yum. Had an epically delicious chicken quesadilla for lunch and seriously considering a return this evening. Yes, twice in one day. That good. The salsa fresco is fresh and tasty, as well. Parking lot is less than desirable, but consider the uphill climb an exercise to work off some of the cheesy, buttery goodness.

It's an okay place... A friend of a friend said this place has the best burrito in town. My friend and I would somewhat agree. I suppose it's because of the baked beans that threw everything off since we're not fans. The burrito itself is just slightly smaller than a Chipotle burrito. I guess it's more of a Moe's size? I suppose it's a comparable size since it's not as fat as a Chipotle one, but I don't eat at Moe's enough to remember the size. Overall, the steak and shrimp choice was pretty good. Lol. Let's leave it at that. The chips my friend got were good. It was light, crispy, and not oily at all. Add some salt and lemon on it and it became great munching food. There was Cheerwine soda here as well. If you're like me and have not the slightest clue what this was, it's like a cherry Coke but with more of the cherry flavor versus the syrup. Ohhh. There's also a Cheerwine float that we didn't get to try since we saw it too late in the game. The sopapilla (fried tortilla with butter, honey, and cinnamon) that we did try was pretty good. Yes, it sounds greasy, but it was pretty tasty. Parking is behind the restaurant. I believe there is a valet option since there was a gentleman there... I just drove my car in and found myself a parking spot so I am unsure what the gentleman was there for... Maybe he was just the parking attendant. Lol.

Grilled pork and green chile burrito.... First words that came to mind.. Holy Moly this is big! It was recommended that I eat this immediately in the restaurant to savor the grilled aroma and avoid it becoming more soggy the longer I wait. I'm glad I did. The small restaurant always has room for me and I like that there are many windows to let natural light in. Line always moves quickly and service is pretty much just as fast. The burrito came with some chips when I ate there. There are two bottles of sauces at the drinks counter but if there are a lot of people, there may be none available for you to grab. The staff can give take-out portions though. I like to eat them with chips and even more poured on my burrito. Green: spicy sour. Red: spicy aromatic. Good place for a quick lunch and getaway.

First time here and I wasn't impressed. I ordered the chicken burrito bowl. The chicken was shredded and was mixed with rice, pinto beans, cheese, and salsa. I thought the chicken was slightly dry.The entire time I'm eating my food I'm thinking A. I could've made this myself. I didn't need to pay $7 for this B. I should've just gone to Chipotle or Moe's Only thing I enjoyed were the chips and guac. The chip were very light and crispy and the guac had good taste and texture. Since I only had a chicken burrito bowl, I'll probably come back again before completely writing off this place. I noticed they had specialty burritos on their menu which might be a way they differentiate themselves.

Not to bore you with a blog entry or something, but here's my review: Time & Date of visit: 8 pm Thursday night Party Size: 2 Location/Ambiance: The restaurant parking lot is immediately after the intersection of Palisades and Peachtree Rd NW. ( The address on the yelp page needs to be updated) Turn right into the middle of Bell Street Burritos and Sufi's to enter the shared parking area. Best bet would be to go to slow crawl after the intersection so you don't miss it. I believe there's valet for Sufi's if you'd like, if not, there should be plenty parking down the hill or the lot below, if someone doesn't park like an idiot. Mind you, there were plenty of Benz's doing that. Inside was a slightly smaller dining room then expected. Though no one was eating out on the patio on this chilly December night. Most people coming through were taking food to go, with a few tables here and there dining in. Noise level was pretty chill, easy to carry a conversation. Service: This is a casual fast food joint. For those unacquainted, you order and pay at the counter. The cashier then gives you a number and holder to place on which table or counter area you pick, then they bring out your order. There's a soda fountain, sweet and non-sweet tea containers for self serve refills. Napkins and plastic utensils along with lemons are provided if you'd like some for your meal. Food/Beverages: My friend and I couldn't help but let our eyes do the ordering when we saw the steak and shrimp burrito option under the Burrito Specials. So we both order it but failed to see that under Burrito's, they included pinto beans. I'm not a fan of beans myself, I wish I saw that before gluttony kicked in so I could have asked to hold on it. Oh well, next time. Prices as for value are on par or maybe better then chipotle depending on your order. They do not stuff the burrito's as much as chipotle, but taste wise I believe it's better. Depending on your take. Steak & Shrimp burrito (Burrito Special) - The steak would be a little more cooked then I wanted, but it's still tasty. Just more chewy. The cuts are various chunks. No skinny strips or flanks here. The shrimp is of medium/large size, both of ours contained about 6 of them. I believe that's more than Baja Fresh. Serving size, it's pretty filling. Taste, would ranked as pretty good. Chips- About the serving size of a handful, yet with a crispy texture. These don't taste like they've been sitting under a heat lamp most of the day. But there's not much to them, so I added some lemons and salt. If you like your tortilla chips crispy, non-greasy but a little on the plain side, this is a sure bet. Those seeking more flavor, go for the salt and lemons. Limes if they have any in the kitchen. Sopapillo - Not like the standard tex-mex place that gets frosted with cinnamon and breaded. Their version is more of a tortilla fried and then glazed with honey. Not overly rich but different then what I expected. I think a milkshake/float/or what flavors they have on hand for a King of Pops popsicle is a better option. Cheerwine - UNLIMTED REFILLS?!?!?! - 'Nuff said. Total Bill w/ Tip & Tax: Low $20's for 1 burrito special and another special with a combo, and lastly a sopapillo. It's a fairly great value. Summary: I wasn't wowed to consider this the best burrito place as Atlanta Magazine has voted as of 2014. I do think it still is a great burrito. The steaks could be cooked a little better, but the overall flavors would make me want to come again if I was nearby to try another meat option. Definitely better than Moes. Still need another visit, to see if it's worth to come out of my way to see if it's better overall then chipotle.

Checked out Bell Street Burritos today on Peachtree St. next to Sufi's. Ironically, I feel like their locations are always closing before I get to try them or something. Anyhow, I went in and ordered 2 regular size Chicken Burritos. The burritos come with certain ingredients already like beans, rice, and etc. You just add on ingredients of your choosing with extra costs. The staff was friendly, and my food came out fast. When the food did arrive, I thought where is the cheese that supposedly comes with the burrito. I did not receive cheese in my burrito bowl, nor did my boyfriend receive cheese in his burrito. No melted Jack Cheese whatsoever. I didn't feel like going back in questioning my concerns. Although, I started thinking, geez I paid about $20 bucks for 2 burritos, 2 drinks, and a side of chips. In my bowl, it was just shredded chicken, white rice, and pinto beans, so nothing special here. Food wise, the shredded chicken was nice (no flavor, but I like shredded chicken, instead of cubed chicken), the beans and rice were way too salty. The food had absolutely no flavor. And kinda bummed, my food was cold. I've been to San Francisco, California several times, and San Fran is known for its awesome burritos. You are not going to find awesome burritos at Bell Street, only overpriced and salty burritos. I really wanted to like this place, but it definitely fell short.

Meh. Went here after hearing so much hype about the famous burritos, and left quite disappointed. There was barely any chicken and I wasn't honestly a fan of the taste. It was pretty sloppy and the burrito fell apart from the sogginess of the beans. I hate to say it, but not a competitor for Chipotle.

We have been to Bell Street a few times now and it is consistently good. They have a focus on fresh ingredients and it makes for great burritos. The format is a little different form your typical Tex-Mex burrito shop where you pick your ingredients and someone fills and rolls the burrito for you. Here you pick your protein and then the come with pinto beans (not black), cheese, rice, and salsa. Then there is a list of items you can add to it for free and a list of items you have to pay extra for. The difference is you have someone in the back preparing your burrito vs having it made right in front of you. You can also get your burrito grilled which I highly recommend as it melts the cheese a little on the inside and gives the outside of the burrito a crispy texture. I have tried the 'Steak & Shrimp' and 'Pork & Green Chile' burritos and think they are both really good. The chips are made in house and are light and crispy. I have also had the cheese dip here and love it. I will have to come in on a Friday for the tamales. I recommend checking Bell Street out if you haven't been and think it's a step above the standard typical Tex-Mex burrito shops.

Saw an article on thrillist that Bell's had one of the best burritos is America so we decided to try it out. We got the steak and shrimp and the chicken and broccoli. Both were okay. I would recommend getting light beans. Both of the burritos we had were loaded with beans and they had little rice and pico. It was okay but wasn't the best burrito we have had. I would give it 3.5 stars.

I've only been once, so we'll have to take my recommendation with a grain of salt. I had the pork burrito, which was pretty delicious. The sauces they've made for the chips and whatnot are very tasty. They are not vinegary. As a person who likes vinegary sauces, I hope this will come as some sort of higher praise.

Bell Street Burrito is my favorite spot for fresh Mexican food in South Buckhead/North Midotwn/Peachtree Hills. Supposedly the neighborhood is Brookwood but really everything along Peachtree Street is Atlanta :) Anyways - the quesadillas here are soooo good! You know how sometimes when you go to a Willy's or a Moe's, and the cheese inside the quesadilla isn't totally melted, or the tortilla gets greasy. That doesn't happen at Bell Street Burritos. My quesadilla is always crispy. One of my favorite perks of this place is that they have Cheerwine on the soda fountain. Granted Cheerwine is a North Carolina treat, but I firmly believe it has a rightful place on the fountain equal to Coca-Cola. Forget Uncle Julio's. The good stuff is just down the block at Bell Street Burritos.

Great burritos and great prices. The decor is urban and relaxed. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeabe. They also offer a wide range of local beers (Monday Night Brewing) which makes me happy. FYI-on Fridays they offer tamales! Plenty of parking in the back shared by Sufi's and RThomas. There is a valet attendant but ,YES you can self park. We came with a Scoutmob deal and will be back for more burritos! I got the pork and green chiles. It came with delicious pork, roasted green chiles, rice and beans. My date got the steak and shrimp burrito which has grilled steak, shrimp, cheese, rice and beans. Don't expect the obese burritos from Moe's or Chipotle, these are slightly smaller but still filling. I ate half of mine and my date ate the whole thing (men and their appetites). They came with chips and there is salsa provided in squirt containers-mild, medium and green salsa. We were happy and full. For those with massive appetites they do offer the larger burrito for a buck fifty more and it's the size of your head! Looking forward to trying other burritos on my next visit. They have a wide variety of real Mexican fusion flavors. Don't come here if you expect another version of the corporate standard such as Moe's/Chipotle/Willy's. The menu has so much more to offer and in a truer flavor.

I'm almost certain I'm addicted to this place. Having moved recently, this place is almost in my back yard. So lately whenever I'm looking for a quick lunch or want to pick up something quick when I'm at home, this has been my go to spot. Being the creature of habit that I am, I have ordered the exact same thing every time I've been here. The shrimp and steak burrito. So many yums (splurge and add the cilantro and sour cream). Highly recommended. Service here is okay. It hasn't been bad and my order is always completed quickly, but no one here seems overly friendly. Or maybe I've just had bad luck. Either way, I'm going to keep going, because that burrito makes me amazingly happy.

If you like eating excellent burritos with fresh ingredients while listening to Radiohead then you will love this place. The only thing I would change is the salsa, could be more spicy and less sweet.

  • Mr. Butters ..

this is the most confusing restaurant, regarding reputation (people apparently love this place). The chicken, or substance known as chicken, is terrible. Their steak and shrimp is pretty good, but not great; Chipolte has a lot healthier options and better quality.

I miss Bell St. Burritos in their old O4W location. They moved to the current location on Peachtree in the old building which used to house Huey's. (Now there is a restaurant I miss.) But Bell St. is doing a great job here. The burritos are as excellent as ever. This last time I went, I had a Steak & Shrimp burrito. It was an exercise in perfection. I had a chance to visit them on a Friday, which is, of course, Tamale Friday. And I really wanted to try a tamale, but it will have to wait until next time. I took my burrito stock--no alterations. It was everything I needed it to be, and I demolished it faster than the Tasmanian Devil taking out--well, anything. Delicious. Holler if you want to meet up there.

I really enjoy a good quality burrito, probably more than most do. I go to Willy's so much I might as well work there. With that in mind, I will probably continue going to Willy's after trying this place for the first time. Let me break it down to the nitty gritty details for you. Nitty gritty Pros -great service. The lady who took my order was wonderful -good options for added ingredients -love the building and the music. Nitty Gritty Cons - chicken lacked in the flavor department - no black beans as an option - a lot of the extras cost extra (I understand the Guac being more but to be thrown on the grill for a few seconds after its made costs extra?) -smaller portions than Chipotle or Willy's All in all it was an ok experience but it isn't worth driving further for me when Willy's is closer and more flavorful. Just one man's opinion though. Try it for yourself, you may like it still.

I've never been disappointed by Bell St. Burrito. If it were easier to access (it can be difficult to get into the parking lot from P'tree) I would go more often. This place has the best burrito bowls in the city. Chipotle who?!! They have so many protein options, and endless ways to create HEALTHY bowls (hold the rice, and spinach), and it's all REALLY GOOD! It's easily my favorite on-the-go Tex Mex place!

SO I have been super psyched to try this place because my friends in school say that once you've had Bell Street Burrito you can never go back to Chipotle or have anything else because it's just THAT good. I finally had the opportunity to come here Saturday night, and you know what? I was not a fan. At least at the Buckhead location, parking for this place is directly behind the building which don't let the valet for the restaurant next door confuse you. Then, when you walk in, you order at the counter (they dont assemble anything in front of you contrary to Chipotle) and then you sit down. I got the pork and green chiles burrito and I was so disappointed! First, I dont like beans but if you take that out, the rice was weird too! I thought my rice was too mushy; I wanted something harder (That's what she said). We also got their guac and that tasted funky to me too because they put tomato salsa at the top, and I wasn't sure what was happening there. I'm gonna stick to my neighbor national chain chipotle next time.

We ordered three tacos, a burrito, rice and beans to be delivered by Zifty. The food arrived warm but really wasn't that good. We added onions to the tacos. Didn't expect them to be giant, square, raw onions. The flour wrap was too big for the burrito and overwhelmed it. It was quite dry and needed salsa to amp up the flavor. The beans were basic and it was white rice and not Mexican rice. All in all, not a stellar meal.

By default I'm a Mexican food snob being from CA..and whenever I'm homesick or looking for some good quick mexican food I come here. In fact since I live so close - I rarely even go to chipotle anymore! I've tried their burritos (be sure to get them grilled!) Green tacos and quesadillas and have yet to be disappointed. My only little complaint would be that once I got brown guac in my takeout. But seriously that's it! Any time you're looking for relatively inexpensive delicious mexican food look no further!

The extra large burrito was large compared to what I had in mind. I had the chicken burrito with jalapeños and onions, but the taste was very bland--there is maybe too much rice and beans that it seems to cover the taste of meat or other ingredients. I would say that chipotle is significantly better. The atmosphere was, however, very nice and the customer service was on point.

I went here last week and my experience was pretty awful. First, we walked in and the place was desolate. It took the cashier in the back 20 minutes to come out and take our order. I could clearly hear her in the back talking about what she planned to do that weekend with another coworker. Not suprisingly, she couldnt hear us calling for her from the front of the restaurant. When she finally came to take our order the cashier was rude and rushed us. Once she took our order she went right back to her conversation in the back of the restaurant. We actually wanted to add an item to our order, but decided not to because she couldnt hear us needing service. The food itself was overpriced for the service and quality we received. Perhaps it was because we went at 9pm, but the burrito I received looked worse than taco bell quality. We paid nearly $20 for 2 burittos (1 chicken and 1 chicken/shrimp) with NO drinks or sides of any kind. I will not be visiting Bell Street Burritos again.

If you want a hearty Mexican inspired meal for little money, come to Bell Street. Prepare to be full of flavor and food! Located next to Sufi's and R. Thomas, the parking is free and service is fast! I've been enjoying Bell Street since they were in the old Irwin Street Market and they have been consistent at each of their locations. I can't say anything bad about them except that at times I leave with the itus!

Awesome change of pace from chains like Willys, Moes, Chipotle and others. Fresh ingredients all made to order. Not an assembly line style production. Great food, reasonably priced, quick and delicious.

Coming off a weekend of non-stop drinking at TomorrowWorld we had some time to kill in the city before our flight. Me and a friend love burritos back in Boston so we found Bell Street Burrito. Parked in the back and felt like our car was going to tip over in the parking lot that's probably at a 70 degree angle lol. Anyways we went inside and i placed my order. Got a Large Steak burrito with pinto beans, cheese, sour cream and green sauce. Had to pay an extra 50 cents for them to grill my burrito which i thought was weird. Waited about 3 minutes and the guy came to the table with our burrito. Really enjoyed everything about my meal. I even like the tortilla chips they had. If i had any complaint it would be that they maybe added too many beans but that's it. Hopefully i come out to Atlanta again and can come back. Would definitely recommend this place especially after camping and drinking for 5 days like we did. Trust me i know burritos, come to this place.

TACO REVIEW: The tacos are fabulous. The salsa is fabulous. The guy I was with got the burrito and I'm pretty sure he was stuffed for days but he also said it was fabulous...so that is next. I got the shrimp tacos and added green salsa to them w/ a side of chips and salsa...the perfect amount of lunch food to almost be in a coma when you return to work but remain coherent (burrito friend was not so lucky). This is a little hole in the wall spot where you order at the front. The service is funky and friendly and they have a great little patio outside. I will definitely be poppin' in again.

I got the steak and shrimp burrito. While the burrito had some good flavors, the quality of the steak was TERRIBLE. Every bite of steak in my burrito had inedible, extremely tough piece of fat/tendon and I had to spit it out. I'm still going to give this 4 stars bc my boyfriend got the pork and green chile burrito and it was great.

I love a good quesadilla..it's usually my go to entree for any Tex-Mex restaurant and Bell Street does a good one. At one point right aftermy initial visit, I was trekking out to Irwin Steet Market at least twice a week. I was disappointed upon hearing their doors were closing, but am thrilled that they opened this new location on Peachtree - this location is more convenient anyway. Back to the quesadillas! I always order the shrimp quesadillas ($5.75 for two halves and a side of tortilla chips), there's a small selection of free additions: cilantro, jalapenos, tomatos, onions, and various salsas; then a larger of selection of paid additions ranging from $0.40 - $1.75 (most of the items more than $1.00 are meats). The tortilla always comes out perfect, warm and crunchy, even buttery somehow. I like that they don't skimp on the shrimp, which is always well cooked and flavorful. This last visit I also got to try the pulled pork quesadillas - another solid option, very tender and filling. The burritos have the same options available as the quesadillas and are just as good, they're massive! I've never been able to finish it in one sitting. Overall, it's a great joint to get your Tex Mex fix. The parking entrance can be tricky - be careful! But I'm thrilled Bell Street found a new home!

I was upset when Bell Street moved from my neighborhood to where they are now. Funny thing, where they are now, is near where I lived before I moved to where I am now. And about the same walking distance. But I don't live there anymore. I live where they used to be, where they were long enough to tease me into happiness. I forgive them, I have to. I love their tamales. Fridays are my favorite day to go here. Tamale Friday is the only day they have tamales. But you had to know that by now. Good shrimp tacos too. Located in the old Huey's building. Now I want Beignets... Parking behind it

On the corner of Bland St. and Overrated Ave. stands Bell Street Burritos. Pair it with a beer from Monday Night Brewing and you have a potent double-act of Homegrown Mediocrity (I can't overstate how mediocre Monday Night Brewing is)! Atlanta has much better to offer, YOU can do so much better, even MOE'S is much better than this bland slop. I ordered the potato, green chiles, and broccoli burrito hoping for something close to a burrito you might get at Elmyr and was completely underwhelmed. The tortilla is so moist it sticks to your teeth & the pinto beans were the only redeeming factor. We also got the steak and shrimp burrito but even the overload of shrimp was boring. I cannot believe how much good press this place gets tying it back to Atlanta burrito history, it is completely boring. Go someplace else.

Bell Street Burrito is one of the best burritos in town. I'm a huge Chipotle fan, mainly because of their fresh ingredients. Bell Street is just as good and the ingredients are fresh too -- and they have queso, which is a huge plus in my books. They are fast, fresh, and delicious. Next time you're craving a burrito, mix it up and head over to Bell Street Burrito!

I live right behind Bell Street Burritos, so I find myself going there quite often. I always get a steak taco and a shrimp taco chipotle style. They come in 2 corn tortillas, which is needed because they put so much meat and toppings that 1 tortilla would burst. I'm always pleasantly surprised with how much shrimp and steak they put in the tacos. The burritos are good - especially grilled, but only come with pinto beans (no black beans). Tamales are available only on Friday, and are beyond delicious! The restaurant has a cool atmosphere with nice patio seating. The line normally moves fast and the food is brought out really quick. Cheerwine on tap at the soda machine is definitely a huge reason to go here. They also have beer, and King of Pops. If you're tired of the same old Chipotle or Moe's I would definitely recommend giving this place a try.

I've only tried a few dishes here. On my first visit I had the corn tortilla tacos with ground beef and shared the queso and chips with my boss. The queso was yummy! Salty and creamy, just like I like it. The tacos didn't rock my world but they weren't bad. Every visit since then I've had the the shrimp quesadilla and I'm hooked! I love that they don't skimp on shrimp and the quesadillas are big and filling. This place is a 5 steps from my office so I eat here regularly. If you're coming for lunch I suggest you order ahead of time - the line to order is often outside the door during the lunch rush. Quick, easy, tasty and cheap! How can a girl want for more?

Just visited over the weekend and I really enjoyed it. Their quesadillas are crispy and awesome! I got the burrito grilled and I really enjoyed the crispy outside and yummy inside. A lot of people say that it is similar to Tortillas back in the day. It's pretty close. They even have the green and red sauces on the tables.

I wish I would've gotten to taste the food but the lady that was supposed to take my order got me so angry I don't imagine how the food would've made my experience any better. This was my first and only visit to this restaurant. I drive by it everyday and the building has always caught my attention. Today I decided to stop by on my way home. My usual burrito places like Chipotle, Moe's, and Willy's are great but I like to branch out and discover new things every now and then. Unfortunately you sometimes get hit by a falling branch and land into places like Bell Street Burrito. Never again will I complain when Moe's and Chipotle yell at you when you visit. Not a single employee at BSB acknowledged my existence. Now, I'm not going around expecting the world to stop what they're doing everywhere I go, but something would've been nice. That was my first clue that this wasn't a 5 star burrito place. So after looking at the menu for a while a decide I'm ready. I was at the side door looking at the menu for a while just reviewing the whole thing. I approached the woman that was sitting at the cash register and she had not said anything to me at this point. I asked her "do I order here?" She looks at me straight in the eye after a short pause and says "you do, that's why I'm here" in an attitude that would make anyone's mother slap wanna her right. I look at her for a minute and just said "you know what, never mind" and I drop my menu on the counter and leave as I hear her say "see ya" I was just wanting to make sure that I was doing this right. Like I said, I'm used to places where you make the food as you go and pay at the end of the line. I wish I would've tasted the food before writing this review but I didn't want to support this woman by giving her my money.

I love Bell Street! Fresh ingredients, fast service, and friendly staff keep me coming back. After a bad day a pork and green chili bowl with grilled onions makes everything better. Their queso and guacamole is also fantastic. Can't go wrong!

I parked in the 45degree parking lot next to the smoking employee behind the restaurant and made my way through the side door. After tripping over a shard of wood sticking out of the ground in the restaurant, I noticed that for a new restaurant the floor was awfully old. I ordered the chicken burrito with a small guac and chips. They have a list of 'free' ingredients (salsas, jalapenos, etc.) and then a list that you can add for $$ (guac, etc.) Burritto - 3/5 - Roughly the size of any Moe's/Chipotle/Willys burrito. It came with all the ingredients that I asked for along with refried beans and soft/mushy white rice. The overall flavor was pretty good, the jalapenos were actually spicy. Guac - 4/5 - Came in a container about the size of Chipotle's. It had a layer of tomatoes on top and a chunkier and better consistency than Chipotle's guac. It tasted more fresh and had better flavor than Chipotle's guac (which I find salty). The chips, although delicious on their own, are wayyyyyy too thin for this level of guac. I had to take 3-4 chips at a time to keep them from breaking! Overall, If I had the choice between Chipotle and Bell Street, I would probably choose Chipotle 2/3 times.

I ordered Bell Street today for our office and had it delivered by Zifty. We have catered lunch every Wednesday and wanted to try something new. Being lovers of mexican food, Bell Street was a new alternative to Chipotle which we usually get. Overall I think everyone liked it. I loved mine-chicken and broccoli grilled burrito with rice, cheese and cilantro. Hands down, one of the BEST burritos I've ever eaten. However, I was confused with how small the burritos in a bowl were-and my colleagues that ordered these were somewhat disappointed. It was so small! And layered so you had to dump it in a bowl to eat it. And no lettuce, which these usually come served on. Odd. Also, a couple colleagues ordered quesadillas and 2 of the 3 were cold and somewhat soggy. I was told the 3rd quesadilla (steak) was one of the best ever though, so maybe it's just a difference in meat. I'd recommend trying it and dining in, and personally can't wait to visit again! Huge props to Zifty as well who got the order here quickly and right on time. We had a really large order and I was somewhat worried about accuracy and timeframe (almost $400 total!) but literally everything was there, labeled with each person's name and correct-and the order arrived 5 minutes prior to the beginning of the timeframe they gave me. I'm a happy customer with Bell Street and Zifty for sure!

I live in between Bell Street & Chipotle on Peachtree. I loved Chipotle, but wanted to try something new. I ordered the steak burrito & to my surprise there was maybe 3 little bites of steak in the entire burrito. I might as well been eating a rice & beans burrito. I thought maybe it was a mistake & went back one more time... nope, once again I ate a rice & bean burrito. Sorry Bell Street! I'll be going back to Chipotle.

Outstanding. Not only is the food exceptional, but staff are genuinely engaged and deliberate about delivering great customer experience. Monday through Thursday are as good as it gets for all your burrito cravings, but Tamales on Friday are epic...they'd make Pedro pull a freight-train and slap his Mamacita across the table.

My personal experience with BSB Was not a very good one. My company paid for burritos and various other items from the menu for over 30 employees. It cost a fortune. I ordered pork Chipotle Tacos with sour cream. They come in a soft tortilla with melted cheese, grilled onion and a spicy chipotle sauce. Actually the truth is they come on a dry ass crusty soft tortilla, nasty onions, dry pulled pork and no chipotle sauce, and the sour cream I asked for...there wasn't any. I ate half a taco and threw the rest in the trash, best place for them. First time I ate food there, the last time I'll eat food there.

I recently went to Bell Street Burritos and I have to say I was not impressed. First off the food was not bad but nothing about it wowed me. I got the pork burrito bowl which came with rice, beans, a very small amount of pork and some veggies. There was not much flavor to anything so I decided to add the red hot sauce which they make. From a hot perspective it was ok but once again for a Mexican type restaurant the flavor was significantly lacking. My girlfriend got the salad with chicken and she liked it but they use iceberg lettuce which has no flavor at all whereas if field greens were an option it might add a little bit of additional flavor and texture. Lastly, I was extremely disappointed in the wastefulness of how they serve their food if you are eating there. My burrito bowl came in a throw away plastic storage type container and the salad came in a to-go Styrofoam container as well as plastic silverware. I would like to see them improve the eco friendliness with some real plates and silverware or at least paper plates and bowls for those eating in which can at least be recycled. I would consider going one more time once this place has been around for a little longer and the cooks are able to step up the food quality for the prices they charge.

Had the pork and green chiles burrito- nothing special to be honest. Good salsa and portion size though. Kind of disappointing, cause it looks like a really cool place. The chips are terrible- like the generic kind you can get at publix or kroger. Chipotle's burritos are better imo. Nice place, patio, and service though- thats why I gave it 3 stars instead of 2.

Having moved here from Texas, I am excited to say that I have found my favotie tacos in Atlanta. I can recommend the pork (green style) and the steak (red style). Two tacos is plenty, particullarly if you get an order of guacamole on the side. The tacos are full of flavor--bright, savory, with just the right amount of spice. And the corn tortillas are warm and soft, adding a nice earthy balance to the bold flavors of the fillings. Honestly, none of the other tacos I've tried here have come this close to a taste of Texas. That said, let me know if there is something else worth trying. Meanwhile, go to Bell Street Burritos and get some tacos. They are great. And the guacamole is pretty solid too.

Let's see... How do I put this?... I am NOT a burrito person and I have yet to order a burrito from a certain burrito chain (hint: it starts with a C) because I prefer a bowl of burrito goodness and frankly, the burrito never found a place in my heart. But I came to bell street and everything changed! I ordered the broccoli, potato and green chile burrito. It has cheese, rice and pintos also. It was delicious. The only other thing I've ordered is the pork and green chile burrito and both are tasty! I love the quick service and atmosphere.

    (5)
  • Evan J.

Uh, I don't get it. Ok, the atmosphere is nice, clean and friendly. Service was quick. But if burritos are your specialty, they need to be good. I ordered a simple steak burrito and the "steak" was more like boiled mystery meat. Chewy, flavorless, and just nasty. I wanted to love this place but come on. Shoulda gone to Chipoltle. Such a disappointment.

Had the tamales today (Friday only) - they were quite good. Have had their burritos in the past and was a little underwhelmed. Overall this place is good but not great.

I ate some very, very fine chili, which I recommend, a wonderful bean burrito with extra chipotle sauce, and a Mexican Coca-Cola in the bottle. I was entranced by the owner's collection of historic Georgia memorabilia, the selections of music balancing Sacred Harp shaped-note singing and new wave rock, and the DVDs and CDs produced by the owners about the Sacred Harp tradition on brie display in the checkout line. The owner produced the GREAT documentary Awake My Soul, for sale in this lovely box. To understand little more about what this is, go to fasola.org as a backgrounder. And go check out this fine food!

  • Claudia C.

So I found out for myself why this place has such a variety of ratings: it's really hit and miss. The guac is pretty good and fresh. Ordered the chicken quesadilla with all the free extra toppings - delish! I loved the crispiness of the tortilla. The burrito on the otherhand was a fail. First of all they use PINTO beans, not black beans. I much prefer black. The tortilla was way muschy and the pork didn't have a good flavor at all. Was excited to see sopapilla on the menu, but it was a joke. Burnt and chewy pita doused on honey. Gross. I'd return for the quesadillas and guac, skip the rest.

Chipotle, moes, willys or whatever burrito place you frequent. Just quit and come here. Bells knows burritos, and they grill them!! Excellent range of toppings (potatos, broccoli). You'll love it!

My personal favorite burrito place. I love coming in here for a quick dinner when I only have a little but of time. Fast and filling. Good for when you are dining alone or with a couple of friends. They have so many options for toppings. Good atmosphere and play good music. I personally prefer them miles over chipotle which is close to this location.

I was recently in Atlanta and my friend read about this restaurant on the plane, and supposedly it has one of the best burritos in the country. So we all went to try it out. I actually got a quesadilla because I wasn't in the mood for beans and rice inside my tortilla if you know what i'm sayin'. Some other peeps I was with ordered burritos, and also some queso which was RADDDDDDD OMGGGGGGG. I really liked my quesadilla, which was a special order pork and green chile. The pork was tender and flavorful. The chips were really light and good. I'm not sure what other people mean about the place being dirty - it was totally clean when I was there, and the service was very friendly. I would definitely go back.

  • Jeremy L.

I eat here a good deal cause it's right by my work. Tamales every Friday. Chicken or pork. Best tamales I've had in Atlanta so far. Their chili is fantastic! Beef and pork with onions. Good spice. They put a lot of care into what they do. Oh...and get your burrito grilled. Super good!

  • Scott D.

Ate the green chili and pulled pork burrito. It was loaded with beans, rice, and all the other fixings-- very dense. The burrito held together throughout the duration of the meal as it wasn't overstuffed. Felt like the place prided itself on the large green chili that is offered as an option on this item; it didn't really do much for me. Not a lot of flavor to it and just got in the way of the delicious pork. Next time I would probably put more hot sauce in it. Good burrito, but nothing exceptional. Same can be said about service and ambiance. (they serve beer now)

I dipped out of the office for lunch today and checked out Bell Street Burritos and I was very happily surprised by their prompt service, awesome food, and available Jarritos and Cheerwine. I had the shrimp quesadilla and it was great! Crispy edges, jack cheese and light salsa filling was perfect. And the shrimp inside was PERFECTO. Also tried the queso dip and it, too, was PERFECTO. Really, I'm blown away by how fast they got my order to me and how that didn't effect the quality of the meal. GREAT place to pop into on your lunch hour.

  • Jasmine C.

I just ate here for lunch for the first time and it will probably be the last. First I did not appreciate how the hostess at the front who takes your order was literally about to take a guy's order that got in line after me. Maybe because I am black and he is white. But anyways he had to tell me to go ahead for her to take order, otherwise she would have took his order first. To make things worst, the chicken quesadilla that I ordered lacked flavor. The only thing they did was grill the outside of it and put pico de gallo in it. I have never had a quesadilla that didn't come with cheese in it and that was the main issue. I guess they expect you to pay extra for something that should have already been included in it. I guess I should have asked for a chicken "and cheese" quesadilla and maybe I would have been satisfied. I guess I'll stick with Chipotle.

It's ok but I can get better tacos at tin liZzys or taco Mac for the same price or cheaper. Burritos come stuffed with meat but just mediocre. 2nd time here only because I'm stupid hungry and decided to give it another chance a d try something different....chipotle chicken tacos. Mediocre as well for 3 bucks each. Not completely satisfied.

Came here for the first time during their Peachtree grand opening and I have to say: I don't really get the hype. The location, decor, and setup was excellent, as were the options, but the food lacked something. I even went for the grilled option suggested. There just wasn't a lot of flavor compared to my current faves: Chipotle or Willy's. (And they are chains, so that's saying something.) Pulled, bland chicken, pinto beans vs. black (a personal preference, sure), having to pay for the good flavor add-ins... When your salsa is the best item of the meal--the red salsa is delicious--it's a bummer. I'm going back in the future to see how things are with less of a crowd and a different item. But for now, the food is decidedly average.

Heard the legend of Tortillas for years and supposedly Bell Street is the reincarnation. Ate there today for the first time and, well, it was certainly fine and fresh but Im not sure what the hype was about. Had a steak burrito, added cilantro and red sauce. It was just a burrito but whoa! way salty - I think it was the beans. 6 hours later I'm still thirsty. And the restaurant is cute but it was brutally hot and humid inside. We wanted to stay and talk but were drenched in sweat about 15 minutes in so we ate and left. Its fine. Happy to try again if we are in the area, but its just a very average burrito. Nothing magic here.

They finally opened. Many of us in the Brookwood community(Not Brookwood Hills-which is the Neighborhood Across the Street-Many who live in the Brookwood, think they live in Brookwood Hills, just don't know any better), have anxiously been awaiting for them to open. I spoke with Matt, the owner, and he said now they are considered as being on the Beltline, the zoning loops he's had to go, thru, it's been crazy. But the joint, and I mean affectionately, is a stellar place. With White Subway Tiles, old church benches, it just feels right. Of course the main attraction here, are the Burrito's. They are very large, with the Green Chili Burrito, being my favorite. But hands down, it's Tamale Friday's, are the best. The Tamale's are carefully made with real corn husks, chucked, with great chopped pork, that has been marinated. Get some extra cheese, and a side of small Guacamole The Guac is freshly made, and is wonderful. Warning, the line goes out the door on Friday's, but it's well worth it..

Great food, the burritos are killer, but the place was pretty filthy (floors, tables). Not sure if that's a regular thing, but I would come again for the burritos. The pork and green Chile one was massive and delicious! Having my feet stick to the floor by the soda machine from a large obvious spill while the girl behind the counter chatted and played with her phone, however, was rather irksome.

Burrito was ok, I give it an 8/10. They don't have black beans and the rice seemed way too over cooked. Atmosphere is a 7/10 (kind of small, dingy and not super clean). Give it a try if you want something different but know that you won't get nearly the variety and options as other popular burrito joints.

I live pretty close to this location and there's a chipotle right down the street from it. I've always eaten chipotle but never tried Bell Street. I tried Bell Street for the first time yesterday and I plan on making it a place I frequent in Atlanta. I got the burrito bowl and it was simply amazing. I must admit that it was smaller than I thought it would be but it tasted amazing.

Given the proximity of this restaurant to our residence we frequent this place weekly. It has a great variety of food on the menu including tamales on Friday. The food is always good but not consistently great. On numerous occasions it's been blah but we get over it because it beats the heck out of Wendy's and Chich-fil-A

I had heard great things about Bell Street from various sources and wanted to give them a try while waiting on Amtrak. I'm not going to talk about Amtrak and waiting as this is not an Amtrak review. Back to Bell Street... I actually tried the streak and chicken green tacos. I found the seasoning pretty awesome. The cook and texture on the chicken was great. The steak, however, was different story. The steak was overcooked, bottom line, to the point of being rubbery. This did not ruin the meal, but I just wanted to be honest. I don't know if I've been brainwashed by Moe's and Willy's, but the tacos did not have the amount of toppings I expected (onions, salsa, lettuce only). That was a knock for me, but I'm not sure if I don't need to change my expectations as well. I will definitely be back. I want to try the burritos.

I paid 36$ for 3 burritos and 3 drinks, not even combos. The only thing extra we asked for was sour cream, and we didn't even get that on our food. They weren't bad burritos, but just disappointing at that price and lack of customization requests.

This place isn't good at all. CheerWine was on fountain so that's a star and it was a nice location. The food is worse than TacoBell. My steak taco was really bad. The steak appeared boiled and chewy. The taco flour tortilla was funky tasting. The location is really really nice. Should be a wine and cheese bar or something as this place mayn't be there long. I had one taco as I didn't want to chance it. Wise decision. My companion had a quesadilla. None of the ingredients in the quesadilla were grilled, raw onions, tomatoes, peppers and dry chicken. I'd mention cheese but there was so little of it, it was almost nonexistent. Pass this burrito stand. Go to Moe's or Chipotle (seriously).

It warms my heart to see Sweet Auburn alums like Bell Street Burritos and Grindhouse do well on their own. In a market cluttered with Willy's, Moe's and Barberritos, Bell Street stands out in terms of fresh flavor and ingredients. It's the little burrito place that could. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the North Midtown/South Buckhead area.

I went there for lunch one Thursday and really enjoyed it. There were a ton of people and I thought this is going to take forever, but it didn't! They were very prompt. I ordered a chicken quesadilla with guacamole and really enjoyed it. Your meal doesn't come with a side but it doesn't need it. The chicken was really good and not some crappy unseasoned meat. It was very flavorful. I wouldn't recommend this for something like a first date night because the seating isn't too private but I would recommend going if you are looking for something that's fast, pretty nice and on peachtree street.

Heard great things about this place but was crazy disappointed. It smelled weird and the floors were very dirty. We ordered two burritos two drinks and one order of chips - 20 bucks. Both burritos were pork and the meat was great tasting but I was disappointed in the options of things to add to it. No lettuce and sour cream was extra. Chips were good though. Chipotle is down the street and way more worth it! There are not many things here that you can't get down the way. Boring!

Want yet another wonderful reason to love living in Brookwood Hills? Well, the recent opening of Bell Street Burritos (right next to mi casa) is a great one! It was another one of those nights in the middle of the week when you realize that both your refrigerator and your stomach are empty. As I was approaching 28th street, ready to make the left turn into the parking garage, trudge upstairs, and force myself back out into the chilly air to hit up the grocery store for dinner--I saw it. The words "Coming Soon" had miraculously transformed into "Now Open" on Bell Street's newly placed sign and I was ecstatic...not only because the grocery store became nothing more than a memory but also because I'd finally get to sink my teeth into a Bell Street burrito. The crowd was hopping on Day #1 and service was courteous and quick which I appreciated. The owners did amazing things with that tiny space that was once home to Huey's but for the last 2 years was a condemned-appearing building covered with graffiti. The booths were large and comfy and it served as a great space to meet with friends in a very congenial atmosphere. As for the grub, the price was right and so was the taste...simple yet satisfying! My husband opted for the chicken burrito and I tried the green tacos with shrimp and steak. The burrito had great flavor with some of the "free extras" added in; the tacos were just a tad bit on the dry side but I think it was partially my fault that I was too excited and happened to skip over the option of the "extras" which I'm sure would have added more textures and flavors. I'm excited to try the guacamole, cheese dip, the quesadilla, and a few other menu items on a return visit because yes, I will be back. This place is just what the neighborhood needed--an easy, affordable dining option that is just too close to home to be good for me. Oh...and they have breakfast, you say? It's a good thing that they don't open before 11am because otherwise, I'd be in trouble. Welcome to the neighborhood, Bell Street!

I always order the shrimp burrito with cilantro, and it's always perfect. We usually get our burritos to go and our order is perfect every time. I love the decor, the service, and obviously the burritos at Bell Street. It's our go-to takeout place!

Better than Willy's. Much better than Chipotle. What distinguishes this place from others is the "extras" beans, rice, guac. They seem to be seasoned better and have more flavors. Good sauces.

This truly tastes like no other burrito. Why go to a chain when you can get a one of kind bell street burrito?! They never disappoint - never! Consistency is key. When I was pregnant we would come here almost weekly. All the burritos are amazing just make sure to get it grilled! The cheese tip is delicious with a little spice. The tacos are mouthwatering! Really enjoying Belle Street being in the neighborhood. The food comes out hot and the signature burritos are dynamite - and large. Had a Saturday afternoon football get together recently and ordered a bunch of burritos, guac, salsa and chips, Owner Matt suggested having the burritos cut in half with the halves individually wrapped. It all made for perfect football fan grazing at the crib!

Ordered a chicken burrito bowl with shrimp (via zifty) and it was amazing. While it doesn't come packaged (although I did order delivery so no complaint) like the burrito bowls I order from Chipotle, the quality of the food was vastly superior. I will definitely be a return customer.

About Taco Bell

Taco Bell is a haven for Mexican delicacies such as tacos, quesadillas, burritos, nachos, and other specialty items. Owned by Yum! Brands, Inc. Taco Bell is one of the fastest growing American chains of fast food restaurants. The restaurant operates from 7,072 different locations which are mostly run by independent franchisees and licensees.

The background story of Taco Bell is interesting and inspiring for budding entrepreneurs. The fast-food brand is the brainchild of Glen Bell, who started his first food venture as a hot dog seller in San Bernardino, California. The year was 1948. After witnessing long queues outside a Mexican restaurant called Mitla Café across the street, Bell saw the opportunity and demand for hard-shelled Tacos. He reverse-engineered the recipe and later started selling Tacos and called the venture Taco-Tia.

Later, the name changed from Taco-Tia to El Taco. Eventually, Glen Bell sold the company to his partner and opened the first Taco Bell in Downey in 1962. By 1964, the restaurant also got its first franchise in Torrance. The 100th Taco Bell restaurant was opened by 1965. PepsiCo acquired Taco Bell from Glen Bell in 1978 and the restaurant brand is currently a subsidiary of Yum! Brands which looks after the restaurant business of PepsiCo.
