I had a big birthday coming up and called about catering the event at Bartaco Chastain. Although catering the event didn't work out, Sean was able to assist me and was so nice recommending I call ahead the evening of the event and also contact him again so he could assist me in getting the area of the restaurant I was requesting. All of the managers and staff were so attentive to my needs and my guests that everyone had a great time (there was about 30 of us there at one time). DZ, Sean, Megan, Keianna, David, Tiger and Emilio showed us all great customer service and hospitality. The food, as always, was great and so were the cocktails! Thank you Bartaco Chastain Park for making it a great place to have a fun celebration!! And the acoustic guitar player was good too! (This was on a Thursday night)

Great spot for catching up with the ladies! Friendly coastal vibe, fun cocktails, and fresh ingredients. All the food is served family style for easy sharing. What I enjoyed: Port Chester Reviver (Miller's gin, cucumber, mint, mango nectar and lime juice), Romaine Wedge (Romaine hearts, radish, pepita seeds and a creamy lime dressing), Wild Boar Taco, a Mushroom Mole Tamale, house-made Roja Hot Sauce and Jalapeno Hot Sauce. What I would change: Bigger tacos and more roast on the Cauliflower Taco. Overall, my meal was amazing and the service was excellent. Without a doubt I will be back to try more of the menu.

Bar taco was recommended to me by some co workers. It was a little hard to find the place cause it's hidden. We were seated right away and the decor was beautiful. Clean, modern, and relaxing. My girlfriend and I ordered a carafe of margaritas. Although it was a bit pricey they were fresh and amazing. The duck tacos and corn were my favorite. She loved the rotisserie chicken.. Side note; the guacamole. WHAAAAAAT! Sooooo damn good! Our waitress was a cute pregnant girl, she was so sweet! The manager Dz came by and was super friendly and all smiles. My only issue is the tacos are kind of tiny, but the taste and great vibes make up for it. Highly recommend! We will be back, BAR TACO rocks!

Not sure if it's every Sunday or not, but there is live music today (Sunday mid day). Best mojito I've ever had too.

It's a "win". The food is as good as the other location. The place is very similar is look. Vibe is different because it's a different crowd. Had 6 different tacos and all were good. Had 2 sides, cucs were very good. Had guac which was good and the margaritas while expensive were really great. We'll be back.

A coworker and I checked this place out for lunch last week and I loved it. The tacos were great (we tried an assortment), the guacamole, chips and salsa were pretty tasty too, but the corn stole the show...this stuff is addictive! Great atmosphere and great service too!

Pork belly never tasted so good!! Great to sit outside. Churros were not my favorite, but who needs dessert after tacos?

I like Bartaco. The ambiance is cool, the food is really good, and the drinks are great. I just wish several things about this spot. It's kind of expensive for Mexican when there is no shortage of quality Mexican in Atlanta. The drinks are really good, but they too will run ya. There is a lovely outdoor space.... That looks out into the corner of a parking lot.... Eh. What's interesting about my visit is my friends and I ordered the rice bowls. I had the tacos at the Westside location so I was excited to try the bowls, which my friends had bragged about. After ordering and while waiting, the manager informed us there was no more rice. None. And making more will take a long time. A. Really. Long. Long. Time. My friend is gluten free and wanted to wait for her bowl. And made that clear. But the manager kept insisting that she order something else. Ok so thank you for telling us and giving us your card to come back for a complimentary bowl and allowing us to order complimentary replacements while there. That's definitely customer service and I appreciate that. But it's the middle of the afternoon on a Saturday, how do you run out of a simple main ingredient like rice? Is there no low rice warning in the kitchen? No alert that's states rice is approaching critical low levels? None? No? I appreciate how it was handled, but I guess since it is somewhat new they are working out the kinks. I guess. I would give 4 stars, but it's rice that ran out. Who runs out of rice? I like Bartaco. I recommend it. The guacamole is yummy. Their cucumber salad is tasty The pork Belly and shrimp tacos, are a yes and yes from me. The drinks, yeeesss. Just make sure to confirm there is enough rice if you want a rice bowl.

I went to bartaco Chastain Park last night with 6 other girlfriends, and the experience was worth writing a review. BarTaco doesn't take reservations, which is fine because they allow you to call ahead. We called ahead 40 minutes before we got to the restaurant to get on the waiting list. We waited for almost 2 hours before we were seated, and were never given any indication that it'd be that long of a wait. So just know that call ahead doesnt mean anything really. Apparently we were waiting on 2 girls to leave a table for 7, but they didn't really realize that the restaurant was packed and camping out at the table wasn't kosher. The manager, Justin, was extremely apologetic to our group, and recognized how long we'd been patient. He promised to take care of us when we sat down and boy did he! Margaritas for the table (delicious!), guacamole for the table (yum!) coleslaw for the table (yassss). Basically all of their appetizers were brought out, and they were all quite tasty, and I highly recommend the spicy cucumber salad. The tacos were great, and then they brought out churros for us on the house as well. All in all my major gripe was the wait time. I get that it's Buckhead on a Thursday night, but the wait was extreme, and there was no warning that it was going to be that kind of wait, but in the end they handled our hangry girl group with grace. I'll definitely go back and give them a second chance.

Hippest spot in Buckhead right now. We had really great service and was seated right away. They turn tables here! Bring food out right away. Loved the chicken bowl and chicken tacos. The plantains were awesome and loved the sweet sauce. We had the churros they were good. It's very small portions. We will be back.

Ok, so its been a while of me not trying new restaurants, one of my friends has been talking about this place non stop, so we decided to hit this place last night. I am completely off as i thought Chastain Park was somewhere off Chastain Rd in Kennessaw, and man was i wrong. Loved the area with all the other small restaurants and the vibe considering is North Buchkead, would have never known. Anywho, as we approached we put our names down and after 5 minutes we got a text saying our table was ready, Sat and promptly ordered drinks, I ordered the Bartaco Margarita, which was on point, my friend got the Pear Sangria, which he had to send back one time since it was a little watered down, but the staff was pretty cool about so he had a new drink without an issue. We then got some food, 7pm, time to eat!! He ordered a Pork Belly Taco, Portobello w Queso Blanco Taco, and I had a Spicy Chorizo taco, all delicious! You can definetly taste the freshness on them, was quite impressed. So we continued with some rice plates, we both ended up with the Sesame ribeye Taco, which was a bit salty, but very enjoyable served with brown rice and a light vegetable garnish on top, really good presentation and taste. Almost went with dessert, but got extremely full. Overall, really liked this place, made me really appreciate the area, Also the table and vibe were really cool, of a restaurant by the pier type- well sort off. The Weeather is awesome right now so most of the windows were open, so it was cool. Our waitress Samantha was awesome, friendly and extremely helpful. Give it a try, it wont dissapoint.

Decided to check out the Chastain location, since I practically live at the West Midtown location. The staff was lovely, and the manager DZ was awesome. He greeted us with a big smile, chatted with us before we even got our food, and he set the expectation for us. We had a lovely time, and I can't wait to bring more of our friends back.

The shrimp and ribeye tacos are awesome!! Drinks are made well and the live band brings a nice vibrant crowd on Thursday night. Get here early and leave room for ice cream!!

Ended up here on a girls birthday weekend. Most of us were from out of town or had just recently moved to Atlanta, so we weren't sure what to expect. We called ahead that morning so there was a table being set up for us once we got there. We didn't wait long and the ambiance was so cool! The large chips and guacamole was a good, shareable size, but the tacos were WAY smaller than we imagined. They were great, I just wish we knew to order more than one or two! Lastly, the mojito is can't miss. Definitely one of the better ones I've ever tasted. Our waiter Cardel was awesome, putting up with our dumb/drunk questions and bringing out a birthday candle and desserts after he realized we were celebrating. Next time we're all back, this will definitely be one of the stops.

As I mentioned in my prior review the customer service here is great. I'm happy to say that after my review the general manager reached out and invited us back for another try. He was came across as one who genuinely cares about his customers experience. This time we went on the heals of the holiday weekend. It didn't click that since it was a holiday weekend they would be extra busy. That said I was really impressed with everything from the food to the service. We ordered our usual guac, salsa, corn and various tacos. The corn was delicious. It even had a little kick. If you haven't tried the portobello taco, put this on your must try list. It was well yum. This time all of our food was uber fresh and the perfect temperature. I mention the temperature because when some restaurants get busy your food may sit and get cold. Not the case :-). Our waiter Thomas was very friendly and attentive. Even better he wasn't over bearing. The GM stopped by our table chatted with us when we arrive and came back later to check on us. I dine out pretty regularly in restaurants of all price points. Great food + Great customer make for repeat business. I will definitely add this location to my go to list!

This place has a cool concept and atmosphere. We started with guacamole (good), plantains(great), and a pork tamale(great). We then got 5 tacos, pork belly(great), chorizo(great), Veracruz fish(great), chicken(ok), and curry shrimp(great). To finish we got the churros with chocolate sauce(ok). Throughout the meal we also got margaritas and they were fantastic. Overall, a great experience and I would return.

The. Corn. It's like the Mexican corn in California except no mayo. I'm in love! I also enjoyed the fresh ceviche. The quesadillas could have been more generous with ingredients and in size. My friend brought her own chips & queso from another place because they have no cheese dip here. Although not very formal all the staff and onlookers seemed to agree: "what's a Mexican restaurant without cheese dip?" We also got churros and vanilla flavored gelato to top off our dinner. In my opinion they should ditch the chocolate sauce and serve it with strawberries and ice cream for more sweetness, but it was still pretty good. I really appreciate the gentleman who greeted us & kept checking up on us. Not a bad price for everything either so I hope to be back soon.

I can't say enough good things about Bartaco. Great patio, fun vibe, AMAZING food and drinks... I love most Mexican food, but this place has to be one of my favorites. (And definitely order the guac!)

Simply put, this place is garbage.I have been twice now (both due to friends/family wanting to try it out), and both experiences have been terrible. You are better off going to ANY other Mexican restaurant in the area. Tin Lizzy's, Taxco, El Azteca, the newly opened Rio Bravo, or even Del Taco will provide better experiences. -Food: You can always judge a tex-mex restaurant based on if they provide free chips and salsa. This place does not. You can order Guacamole/Salsa that come with giant chips that look like rejected taco shells. They have NO QUESO on the menu! What kind of tex-mex/taco place does not serve freakin' queso? The tacos are about 2 inches in size. You know the fake food that 3 year old feeds to their dolls? These are smaller. You can literally eat it in 2 bites, and they cost anywhere from $2.50-$4.50. They have about 8-10 pre-made tacos you can order. They are all cold to lukewarm, since they are most likely all made earlier in the day and just grabbed by the food runners to deliver to the table. It's kind of like tapas but with sh**** tacos. They taste alright, but the flavors do not make up for the hobbit-sized tacos. My girlfriend and I wound up going to the grocery store to get more food after dinner here. The Drinks are overpriced and weak. The house margarita (Bartaco Margarita) or something, doesn't taste like alcohol at all. It tastes like straight up lime with a spritz of tequila. -Service: The servers and hostesesses are friendly, which is surprising considering how inept the management/owners must be. Like others mentioned, they do not take reservations. They can only provide ONE CHECK PER TABLE. So if you have a party of people, have fun splitting up the check at the end of the night (but the math should be simple enough, since you won't have a buzz at all from their weak drinks). It's 2015! The menu is simple enough, so why is it so hard to provide separate checks? Even the staff think's it (and I quote), "complete BS" that they can't provide a table separate checks. I was tempted to write a negative review after my first experience at Bartaco, but that was when they first opened, and sometimes it takes a restaurant a little bit of time to get their act together. Well, 6 months later, everything is just as terrible as it was the first time. This kind of food should be simple, but the way they have it set up is confusing and stupid. Seriously, save your time and money and go to ANY OTHER TEX-MEX RESTAURANT IN THE AREA! El Azteca, Taxco, Chuys, Uncle Julios, Rio Bravo, Tin Lizzy's, Nuevo Laredo, and even Del Taco/Taco Bell are much better options in every department.

I was extremely disappointed with the bang for your buck of this restaurant. The tacos and churros were great, but the Margaritas and anything alcoholic were WAY overpriced for the 1/2oz of alcohol and pretentiousness that was presented. Service was ok, but I still they need to reassess what their goal is as a taco place.

  • Jamie S.

I really love the atmosphere, but the food is definitely over-priced for the amount of food and its quality. But it's a great restaurant to go for drinks and fun atmosphere! Always crowded so make sure you're willing to wait

This place has excellent food. We sat on the patio, and it was lovely except for the bugs. The only downfall is that the price point is a bit high for the portion size. Definitely try the churros!

I've been to bar taco a few times at the Marietta Street location. I was in the neighborhood and decided to drop by the midtown location. The place is quaint, not as big as the other location but still has a great vibe to it. I sat outside and got lost in what I was working on. About 20 minutes had passed and a server came over to take my order as I had previously placed my menu card on the stand to indicate I was ready to order almost 15 minutes prior. After the server took my order the manager drop by and said he apologized that I had to wait over 20 minutes for someone to greet me. I said it was not a big deal I really didn't notice the time because I was wrapped up in what I was doing. The manager offered to get me a drink from the bar. I said it was not necessary. The manager insisted so I said yes and I decided on a Mojito. The manager walked away and the server brought my food about five minutes or so after. I sat for another 15 to 20 minutes and enjoyed my meal. The original server came over and apologize for me waiting and cleared my table and offered me the check. I sat for another five or eight minutes then paid. When the server came back with my receipt I said to her that the manager offered me a complimentary drink from the bar but i did not get it. I Told her to tell the manager never mind and I left. My post would've been significantly different had the manager not offered a drink, personally apologize for me having to wait then did not follow through on what he offered. again, I sat there for 15 or so more minutes waiting on a drink he offered me from the bar. Not sure how long this location has been in operation but there are a lot of kinks to be worked out. I was very disappointed that the very thing the manager apologized for was exactly what he ended up doing. On the upside I did enjoy my tacos!

Most amazing tacos, staff and wonderful managers! Love all the Bartaco locations. Definitely a MUST once a week... or twice.... or three times a week. just YUM!!!

  • Jake R.

This place is great if you're looking for an appetizer, not really a place to feel like a filling meal. The tacos are so small; the duck, and pork belly were tasty. I recommend la pastorcita on Buford highway for AUTHENTIC tacos

  • Inna K.

Food is pretty good! (even though the portions are small). Everyone that works there is so nice ! Great service. They don't give multiple checks per table but if you go up and tell them what u had they can divide it that way. The corn is delicious

Where to start... You drive in to be greeted by $5 self parking.... You heard that correctly. Self parking. The inside is nice, similar to the other location, except the music is about 10x louder, obnoxiously louder. We sat down and ordered margaritas that were served warm due to the glasses being pulled directly from the dishwasher. The staff was pretentious acting as if it were treat to be a customer there. The food was average. I'll end it at this, save the trip and go to west midtown location...there's a good reason the line is out the door.

I've been here twice..once for lunch and once for dinner. Both meals were very good. We went once for a weeknight dinner around 6pm, and although the restaurant was crowded, we did not have to wait for a table for 2. The next time we went was on a Saturday for lunch. Again, crowded but no wait. The restaurant is clean and open. A bit loud, but this is not the place to go for a quiet romantic dinner. The service was friendly and efficient (once you realize that in order to get service you need to put a card on a stand to get the attention of a waiter). We started with the chips and salsa...yummy. You get 3 big fried and salted corn tortillas and a mild salsa verde. Really enjoyed it. I ordered a margarita, which was very good, but nothing exceptional. Here is a summary of the dishes we had. The tacos are on top: Fried Oyster - delicious...my fav Pork Belly - decadent and light at the same time...pork belly cooked and seasoned perfectly Sesame ribeye - hubby loved it, nice portion of meat in the taco Baja Fish - as good as any fish taco in town Pork Tamale - perfect ratio of masa to savory pork filling Cheese Quesadilla - disappointing, very bland, like something off of a children's menu Grilled Corn - very tasty and has a light char flavor In summary, Bartaco is a great addition to the neighborhood.

Fabulous food and fantastic atmosphere. Can't believe it used to be a drive-thru Dunkin Donuts! They were short-staffed so the service was a little slow but it was a perfect patio day and their friendliness and eagerness to please made up for it. I had the sesame ribeye, baja fish, fried oyster, and pork belly tacos. All were outstanding but my favorite was the sesame ribeye. My friend let me taste her tamale and that was amazing too. Tacos are tiny so expect to order at least four. Cilantro is in everything so if you don't care for it make sure to let your server know and notate it on the menu card. When you add everything up it's a bit of a pricy place but I think it's right for what you get.

Our server Keianna was just fabulous! Love this location maybe better than the west midtown! Good was awesome overall, although the octopus was a little dry, it was worth trying. Love the atmosphere and staff, drinks were tasty as always! Looking forward to Inman park!

Wanted tacos tonight but something different, so went to bartaco, so glad I did. We met a rally great employee, Christian Gonzales, I guess he is a key employer trying to get into their management program and let me say more employees should be like him. Very hospitable and took care of everything-- really outstanding. Thanks again Christian-we will be back and ask for you.

Yum! Okay so the wait is long, but once you get seated it feels worthwhile. Not sure how that would feel if I was any hungrier though! I absolutely am sort of obsessed with the ribeye taco. Tasty! Chips are odd and not plentiful, but good and I would skip salsa and go for the guacamole. Minus one for wait & chicken taco is ULTRA bland & unless you like spicy there is nothing to fix it. Both locations same 4 stars ,same wait & same tasteless chicken taco. Although I have friends who like plain, unseasoned so there is that.

This review is for the Buckhead location. The bartender that served us took 30 minutes to make 6 drinks. She smelled the mix she was making - strike 1. The margarita was skunky and the mojito was extremely sour. Luckily our waiter gave us a free round when we sent our drinks back. When we got to our table, service was slightly better. The tray is the way to go if you're sharing between 2 pple (6 tacos, 2 tamales, 2 sides). We ordered pork belly, duck and spicy chorizo. Pork belly was by far my favorite. 2 sides were the spicy cucumber salad and corn, both extremely delicious. The tamales were good but not memorable. I would give this place a second try because the food definitively made up for it!

Went here last night with some friends since I had heard a lot about the Midtown location. I felt cooler just by walking in and seeing the attire of those dining there. It feels like all the people go across the street to Arden's garden for their juice and then walk over to bartaco for healthy tacos "with a story" or whatever. Menu - trendy as ever, all paper-y and folded up. Categorized by "tacos" or "not tacos" and honestly more places should be that blunt. They offer some nice platters as well as a solid variety of tacos and sauces. Food - Food was good! The guacamole app is a decent size but they have these stupid ass hipster-ish chips that are like little frisbees and i guess the idea is we break them down ourselves but it just seemed dumb. Just give us normal fucking chips. Tacos were awesome and ordered and served like sushi, with everyone filling out a card checking off their orders and the server bringing them all out on one tray. They were a bit tiny (keeping the trendy food vibe) but the price was right (no more than $3.50 / taco) and had some atypical varieties like wild boar (excellent). Fish was tasty, and they all have cilantro and onions as a topping which never disappoints. Ambiance - it's a cool spot and always plenty of people to observe. the wait staff uniforms make them look like they are waiting for Tom Sawyer to come tell them to paint a fence and were a little weird in my opinion. They wear these blue plaid shirts, white jeans (my main source of concern) and chucks. Best thing - the art in the restaurant is very cool Worst thing - the size. give me more than a thimble's worth of fish. Would go back for sure but probably grab a light bite before since you can spend a lot of money on not that much food.

I came in on a Sunday afternoon for takeout. The register was down, but the server took my order and filled it quickly and politely. I'd heard that the tacos were small, so I ordered four just in case -- which proved more than enough. I ordered two baja fish, a pork belly, and a falafel. The fish was a bit too spicy (I'm a wimp), but it was fresh and the batter was delicious. The pork belly was also wonderful, and the portion sizes of it and the fish were quite generous. The falafel was a bit of a disappointment, as it was too dense and came with some cream cheese that I didn't like. Overall, though, it was an excellent meal, and I'll have to come back with some friends!

Yesssss....to it all! This place is priced just right, chic in decor and awesomely delicious! Where to begin... The tacos are all great...I like the fish and the shrimp personally - my hubby can't get enough of the ribeye taco. Add a little of the green sauce on the table and it s a spicy kick of flavor melting in your mouth! I looove the salsa Verde. ... like I want them to bottle it so I can put it on everything. Seriously. What was surprising was the Rotisserie chicken we ordered for the kids. Everyone at the table was searching for that additional bite...definitely something to try when there. My overall experience at BarTaco was truly memorable. The wait staff was even prompt, polite and nice. I'll be back...really soon!

This is a 2 part review: Part 1: We've been waiting 1.5hrs and I called ahead...twice. This review is happening before we even sat down. Take reservations!! Part 2: Holy did they feel bad for making us wait and they definitely made up for it!! The manager, Justin Rusch, came by numerous times to apologize and let us know this was not how they intended on conducting business. He made sure we were treated with perfection the entire night (and he's also pretty good looking...bonus)! The food was delicious as always and the service was great. They are still pretty new so it's understandable that some kinks are being worked out, but really refreshing that they made a wrong into a right. Way to redeem yourselves Bartaco...we will definitely be back!!

Really like this new location. Not only do they have a great vibe - they also have really good food. Oh, and before I forget, the patio is super awesome too! My only negatives are - the drinks are pretty pricey, and pretty small - if you stick with their beers its not too bad though. The tacos are small - but they are only a few dollars each. The chips/salsa are also small - but they are delicious. It's crazy packed on the weekend - a 45 minute wait for tacos is insane - but it's the place to be. And lastly, the tables/chairs on the patio are strange, the chairs are so low and the tables are at a weird height. Don't plan to sit on them if you're wearing a dress! Anyways, great new spot in the neighborhood. Very excited to go back soon.

The food was ok. You can get much better street tacos on Buford Highway though. Seriously! However, the churros with chocolate sauce for dessert were fantastic! They saved the meal. It is a cool place to hang out. Especially if you're young. The entire staff wears checkered blue shirt and khakis. It kind of looks like the Gap.

Very fun atmosphere for a night out with friends - they have great live music on certain nights. The atmosphere does everything for this place with the outdoor patio - the menu features tapas-size tacos that are very tasty . I really like the duck and ribeye tacos . Also, the grilled corn is very good . We also couldn't get enough of the salsa!

Bartaco is basically in my backyard and I couldn't be any more excited. It opened on Sunday and I graced them with my presence on Wednesday. I already have plans to be back on Saturday. As a former beach bum, the ambiance of Bartaco is simply bar none the best. It's fabulous. The whole place is decorated like my dream beach house. Their patio and white string lights are perfection. The décor of the place is just so Coastal Living chic. It's great for a girls' night, first date, dinner with parents, pretty much anything. I will say it's probably not the best for large groups because there's always a wait, even on day four of business on a week night at 8:00. The food is exactly what you would expect to be paired with such great atmosphere. It's an assortment of rice bowls, tacos, and not tacos. I've had the curry shrimp rice bowl every time I've been to Bartaco on the Westside. It's the best $8 dinner I've found in Atlanta - really flavorful and presumably pretty healthy. This time I broadened my horizons and split the small chef's tray with my gentleman caller. It's six tacos, two tamales, guacamole and chips, slaw, and cucumber salad. The baja fish, pork belly, and chicken tacos are all wonderful. They are very small but pack the punch in flavor. I was actually able to eat all three without feeling the need to unbutton my pants to breathe afterward. I'm not a huge fan of tamales in general, but Bartaco's are definitely worth avoiding as far as I'm concerned. We both agreed that the chicken tamale was meh and the portabello mushroom tamale oddly enough tasted just like Thanksgiving stuffing - not a good thing. The cucumber salad was light and refreshing. Service was friendly and about what you'd expect for a taco stand. It seemed a little scattered, but that's to be expected for a brand new spot. I don't drink on school nights, so I can't report back on the cocktails this time. However, the Port Chester Reviver (gin, cucumber, mint, mango, and lime juice) is basically the best cocktail ever. It's cool and refreshing but unfortunately not really that strong. At $9.50 a drink, this can quickly add up. The food is cheap and delicious, but the drinks are expensive and can easily turn Bartaco into an pricey dinner. Bartaco is normally a Five Stars in my book, but the tamale and growing pains of being brand new knock my first adventure down to Four Stars. In general, I could not be any more thrilled to have Bartaco within walking distance of my place. I am sure it will be perfection once they get a couple of growing pains worked out and I never eat the portabello tamale again. I kind of feel bad for Tin Lizzy's being so close because their tacos and ambiance have nothing on this. Great addition to the neighborhood!

Bar taco is absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is perfect for the type of food they have. It's like no other stree taco joint in Atlanta. I always get the oyster taco, chicken, and portobello tacos and the corn on the side. This is a hot spot in town and is crowded every night so get there early!

Bar tenders Eric and our Maine comrade , Brittany were hilarious and engaging. Both have glimmering souls and I would even dare to say they gave me a sliver of hope for humanity I have not seen in a long time. Thank you Bar Taco.

Eric and Oscar are the most rockin bartenders I have met since moving down here from New York. Both employees were friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable about there craft. Looking forward to making myself a frequent visitor.

Loved this place! Had an amazing seat in the outdoor patio with pretty string lights and a beautiful fire. Tacos are on the small side but very delicious nonetheless~ around $2.50-$3.50. My favorite is the mahi mahi. The pork belly was a little too sweet for me. Highly highly recommend the corn off the cob. They put it in a bowl so it's super easy to eat! Also get the house margarita. Service was great. They had no problem splitting checks for our large group. If you're in buckhead, definitely check this place out. If you plan on going across the street to johnnys hideaway or the ivy, save your receipt and put it on your dashboard for free parking!

Great good, great service! Definitely going back for the fried oyster tacos and Margarita. The Bartender Brandon was so much fun told us his favorites and makes one of the the best Paloma Margaritas I've ever had!! I would totally recommend this place to anyone :)

I've been here a few times but this was the first time at peek dinner. We were quickly greeted and they took our name and phone number and would text us when we were ready. They actually also included a link where you could check your place in line which is convenient. We started at 22nd in line and it took about 30 minutes to get a table. We quickly ordered their chips and salsa and myself a sangria. Once we ordered our tacos it took only a few minutes to get our chips and salsa. Then about 10 minutes later we got our cheese quesadillas (which are DELICIOUS. Small size but delicious none the less) and about 5 minutes after that we got our dinner. I still hadn't received my sangria but as our server sets the tacos down the bartender comes up with my drink. Tacos: Delicious. I went a bit more out of my comfort zone this time with Mahi Mahi, Fried Oyster, and Sesame Ribeye. Sangria: Unique. It has a splash of soda water and it's noticeable but I enjoyed it. Dessert: I saw gelato cones going around so I got the chocolate. Very rich and delicious. Atmosphere: Busy and crowded. Inside was pretty loud but the bar had no empty seats and several people standing around it. There were also A LOT of group parties there this evening. I wish we could have sat outside but we requested first available. Parking: Slightly confusing. We drove through the parking lot between Bartaco and the bank and noticed the sign for $5 parking. Which I guess is because of The Ivy across the street but we drove and parked in the back corner by Fox's and didn't have any issues.

The food and drinks taste great. If that is all you care about, this is all you need to read and should visit Bartaco when you get a chance. If you, however, are looking for more in a dining experience, Bartaco is probably a good place to avoid. All the food that my table received looked thrown together. "Let's take some meat, throw it into a taco, and add some cilantro to make it look fancy" seems to be the thought behind their tacos (and most everything else). All they really were were a combination of a plain tortilla a topping. I will say, the toppings are definitely original and add a nice change to the standard taco. Then there are the portion sizes. I had a table full of people of all different body types and no one could have gotten full from just a few tacos. Even the skinniest members of our part had to eat over four just to get full. For the price they charge per taco, there should be more included. Then there is how the tacos are served. Our party received all of our tacos mixed together on several trays. That's not a big deal if everyone has the same type, but no one did, making it a pain to sort through who had what. Why not serve the tacos on separate plates like every restaurant under the sun serves their food? Overall, the food is good, but it leaves a lot to be desired. The margaritas are the best that I have ever had, though.

Really cool tapas and Taco bar. They have a different take on tacos which is a nice change up from the usual Taco places I frequent. I tried an assortment of tacos that were vegetarian or seafood. From the vegetarian tacos I actually really liked the falafel taco which had a great sauce it was crisp on the outside and soft and flavorful on the inside. The portobello was ok, I would not order again. From the seafood tacos I really enjoyed the curry shrimp. I highly recommend it. It had a Thai type flavor to it and was so good. Second I enjoyed the Baja fish taco it was a little runny with sauce but I liked it. Lastly we got guacamole with salsa, and I felt it was not worth the $8. Order the city shrimp for sure.

Recently visited this location with Kelly M. & Morgan W. and had a blast. The noise level inside the restaurant was a tad loud and I felt the need to yell across the table at times but we all made it work. The energy was high during our last visit and the restaurant was packed during a happy hour session upon our visit. They have a great patio in front of the restaurant but it was still too hot out to be sitting out there comfortably so we opted for a table inside. I must've missed the fact that we had to write our own orders on sheet at our table but thought that was a neat way to request our food. I was very pleased with my two taco selections: pork belly and chicken. The tacos are a bit smaller than I expected but I can see the appeal. Flavors were on point and I really liked my Mexican corn side dish. I asked for loose corn instead of the actual corn on the cobb and it worked out great. I look forward to returning to this location with the same friends or new friends in the near future. One bonus is that this location is in a shopping center so there's plenty of parking available which is always a plus when dining in the city.

If you want an awesome environment with really good service but don't care about the food - this place is for you. Parking is pretty good. Bartaco is a part of a strip; therefore, there's a plethora of spots available. Definitely awesome since I hear this location can get crazy busy and packed. Space - Such a pretty area - indoor and outdoor seating. As well as an awesome bar area. A great place for Happy Hour OR a place for a cool dinner to happen. I'd bring my girls/guys here if we had a large party and want to drink/eat while socializing with new people. Service - Pretty spot on. My company had a semi team lunch (we had maybe 10 people). The guy we had was nice. Wish I got his name. He explained how to order our foods on the paper and the food pace was fine. Should I mention the servers here are very polished looking? .... and clean cut? :P Their outfits are sweet! Now here's why it's a 3.. I ordered 3 tacos - The Chorizo Taco was good, but had very tiny portions inside. Like WOW. Tasted good but sheesh. Why pay so much for 1 tiny taco? The Chicken taco portion was better, but the taste was bland. Not sure why each taco is 2.50 regardless. Kind of expensive for a tiny taco that will not fill you up unless you scarf down like 6 of them. Grilled Corn - hmm.. I had no cheese on mine because cheese kind of makes me sick. Corn was good, but... nothing to really brag about. But I think the price of 2.50 is fine. Since they come in 2s. Chips and Guac - probably the only item I liked. However, not given as a complimentary item. But... Our Bartender gave us a free tray. I think this tray is like 3 dollars? Which isn't bad price-wise. I just wish they'd give the chips in actual chips, not taco shells. Kind of awkward to eat them if you're in a group. Safe to say, I was still hungry after my meal... I'll only come back for team outings since this place really sells the environment here very well and is group friendly.

It is about time that I write a review for Bartaco. More than 3 visits, and a few options have been tried here. The great things about Bartaco are the following: 1) atmosphere. Hello beautiful people. This location attracts all kinds of good crowds from the Buckhead area. Great for date nights, girls nights, bring your kids or bring your dudes. 2) margaritas. 100% best skinny margarita in the city. This is what you go for, and if this review was based on margaritas, it would be a 5 star. Unfortunately, the food is average, small and overpriced. This is one of the smallest tacos I've ever seen. If you order the ceviche for $7, you think to yourself "did they split this in the kitchen for my imaginary friend?" The quesadilla...two tortillas with some cheese...I don't understand why I even expected more. If you don't drink, you might start when you see the bill. It takes an army of those tiny tacos to fill a small person like me, so imagine if you can really eat!

Got to try out the Roswell location and it had an awesome lunch special. 3 tacos (choose from chicken, pork belly, fish, chorizo, falafel, or cauliflower) + choice of side (choose from chop salad, chicken soup, or gazpacho) for $10! Still, without a doubt, pork belly is my fav~ I also had the chop salad, which was smothered in dressing, which I liked, but maybe it was a bit much since I was covered in it from dropping the lettuce everywhere. Definitely a great new lunch spot for me. Also, kudos for the designer of the restaurant. It really has a very nice interior and great patio seatings.

I wanted to be grumpy at Bartaco but they won me over. Here's the story. Eight of us heading to Bartaco for dinner after a business meeting. Waaaay too noisy inside so we ate outside in very hot, humid weather. And after we sat down, I had to go inside and ask a young Bartacano to send a waiter. You'd be grumpy too. But the chips and guacamole settled us down. The food was great, the drinks terrific, and we had a great, sweaty, outdoor Atlanta evening. Margaritas were a hit with most. I had the mojito. Excellent. Among the crowd of us we had shrimp, pork belly, octopus, spare ribs, baja fish, fried oyster and wild boar tacos. And corn on the cob with lime, cayenne and cotija cheese. So I got to tell you: we had a great time. Good food, Quiet enough to talk (and talk we did). Good drinks. Sweat dripping down your back. And after sub-par tacos at Red Pepper Taqueria and Tin Lizzie, I was delighted to get very good tacos right here in Atlanta.

Fantastic. Bar Taco is one of those places that takes a few visits to perfect your order. Kelly and I have been to the west midtown location a few times. Yesterday, we went for a coworkers birthday and it was just right. This location is a great place to go for lunch. The service was fast and the food was delicious. We started with the guacamole and salsa. Both were great. The salsa is green but it doesn't taste like a typical verde salsa, but it does taste delicious. I ordered the pork belly, wild boar and sesame ribeye tacos and all of them stellar. I think this could turn into a spot where we go celebrate as a company, it's less than 5 minutes from our office in Buckhead across from the Ivy. That's my word and I'm sticking to it.

Great food, wonderful atmosphere, and attentive staff. This was my first time here and it will most definitely not be my last. I came with 2 friends and we sat outside on the patio area. They were accommodating and although the bigger tables were taken up, they just pulled a chair up to a small outside table for us. Our server was great and super friendly, and made the visit very enjoyable. At bartaco, the concept is a little different from other restaurants. The menu is a piece of paper that has been folded, but super cute and convenient. With ordering, you all order on one piece of paper, and you place it on a stand and this allows servers to walk by to know you're ready. It's a good concept and the servers are attentive. Between the 3 of us, we ordered the house margaritas and the sangria. The sangria seemed a little water down to me but it was still tasty. The house margarita was great and I would highly recommend it. We also ordered the salsa verde and guacamole for an appetizer. Both were tasty, but I wasn't too big of a fan of their chips. The chips are like hard shell tacos in my opinion. For the main course we ordered the pork belly, sesame seed ribeye, portobello mushroom, wild boar, and falafel tacos. My favorite hands down was pork belly. It was carmalized and sweet and it was fantastic. We ordered 2 extra after we finished it. I also got the side of corn but off the cobb and with the queso fresco. It was good but noting phenomenal. Overall I enjoyed bartaco and their cute concepts, and nice plus Attentive staff. I will most definitely be back. Oh the servers at the place all wear blue and white plaid. I realized this a little after I situated into the restaurant. It's cute

IF you are looking for the trendy hot spot with a great patio this is your place. Weekend nights are packed until about 11. And not because the food is great or the drinks are cheap...just because the vibe is energized!. We had a large group of 6, and we wanted to be on the patio, so the table option was about the size of coffee table with little square stools to squat on...literally. Don't recommend wearing a skirt or dress to this place. And don't be in a hurry. Staff was helpful and plentiful, just kitchen is slow and they bring it as they make it so sides may come before the platter. We got the large sample platter because it had a variety of tacos and the guac with a few extra sides... extra fish tacos, sides of corn, and fried plantains. Guac was great. Fish tacos were pretty good, not the best but not the worse. One fish finger deeply fried with some cabbage and sauce. Rest of the taco's were soso. Would pass on chorizo next time. Looking for good variety of clever flavored soft tacos, and a patio? Try Twisted Taco. Not trendy but good. Mushroom Mole Tamale was better than expected, as were the other tamales. Grilled Corn comes in two small half cob portion, a little on the dry side, definitely not as good as most food trucks... probably was made earlier that day and been under a heat lamp for hours so only a hint of lime remaining and NO cojita cheese. Worth the $2.50 and just hope that you get the fresh batch or get there earlier. Fried Plantains were blobs of moosh. Not slices like you expect but bite size chunks that actually just tasted like fried regular bananas. Definitely not worth the $4. Churros and Chocolate was a yummy way to finish. Decided to try the sample of tasting tequila. Ample enough with 3 large shot glasses... but the chaser was disgusting...tasted like steak sauce and Worcestershire mixed together. The tequila was not chilled and was not top shelf or even middle shelf. Sent the chaser back, asked for glass of ice and a glass of lemons and limes.... instant cocktail.

I'm so glad they opened up a location close to my work! Definitely recommend coming here for lunch. They have a lunch special for $10, you choose 3 tacos from a list and a soup or salad. My favorite is the Pork Belly Tacos with their chopped salad. They do pile on the cilantro on the tacos and in the salad. I know some people (me included) don't like the pungent and strong taste of cilantro, so make sure to ask to go light on the cilantro or take it out altogether. Also, ask for the salad dressing on the side since my lettuce was practically swimming in dressing. They have such a cute patio seating area like the midtown location, perfect for cooler weather, but Atlanta humidity is so out of control in the summer.

Tonight I had my second experience at bartaco chastain park. My first experience was mediocre so I decided to give them another try. I arrived around 1030 and the restaurant was empty except for two other parties at the bar. The male bartender working tonight was rude when I asked for a drink suggestion almost as if my question was bothering him. The atmosphere of this restaurant is trendy and romantic. The food is served tapas style and you check off on a card what you want to eat and the server just rings it in, it feels somewhat impersonal. The guacamole was average and the tamales were dry. The ceviche is extremely bland and the plantains were undercooked. The pork belly taco was flavorful and the perfect bite. I am of Hispanic descent and found it extremely odd that the ribeye tacos have jicama in them? I wish the menu had descriptions so I could have had a better idea of what I was ordering. While cashing out bartender ran my card and took it with him and proceeded to help other guests, so I had to wave down another bartender to get my card back. After I let her know that I needed my card back she rudely replied saying that he wouldn't have ran my card then kept it, he would have handed it back to me right away that I needed to look for my card. After insisting that I didn't have it she finally asked him if he had my card and he pulled it out of his shirt pocket. The service here is less than up to standard for the prices you are paying and the neighborhood you are in. There are too many other great Mexican restaurants close by for me to ever go back here. Great concept. Poor execution.

I had takeout for the first time. Brilliant. Dedicated window, manned by 2 people and perfectly packaged food. They said 10 minutes. I was there and the food was ready. The cashier did get a little sideways when I didn't tip for takeout (is that a thing?), but even if she didn't approve she should have kept it to herself. The food was good but the shrimp curry had no curry and half the chips for the guacamole were yesterday's. No worries, I will go back

Went to Bartaco tonight - get place, get tacos. Met Christian Gonzales, he is a key employee and is trying to get into the management training program and I must say he was awesome. He, Christian, was very hospitable and took care of everything. He has my vote, more employees should be like him!!!

The coolest menu ever! The atmosphere is very chill. Perfect for those who want to get together with friends and catch up. The service is wonderful which is pretty difficult since the place was crowded. I went on a Sunday. I knocked off a star because of the BUGS outside. Management, please please have those candles or some kind of product to fend off the bugs. I know it comes with the territory of sitting outside but it took away from the enjoyment of the meal.

My roommate and I have been trying new restaurants and stumbled across bar taco. Both of us have food allergies, and our waitress made sure our food was prepared as we had requested. Unfortunately, I did not like my dish (which was fine! I did not complain), and our waitress insisted multiple times that she give me something else, which I declined. But the point of all of that, is to let yelp users know that the customer service and atmosphere here is incredible! Highly recommend.

Cute resto. Doesn't feel like Atlanta, very NE. Love the server uniforms. Portion sizes are tiny. Over order. Seriously. Keep. It. Coming. Or you'll be hungry like us. The kids cheese quesa was only cheese on the triangle point. Kinda strange. The vibe is good. Margarita was tasty. Just wasn't thrilled about the food.

I had really high hopes for this restaurant. We went out on Sunday night at 6:30. Bad idea. There were about 6 kids outside screaming their heads off playing a game. The parents did not seem to mind that the patio was right next to them. Margaritas are fresh but taste like pure lime juice. Even after getting agave added, it was still too tart for us. The guacamole was bland and the tacos were the size of a small hand. My friend ate half her small taco and had one bite of corn and was not even questioned as to why nothing was touched. I've worked in restaurants half my life and I would have been curious as to why the guest did not even touch their food. Overall, the atmosphere is the best part about this place. It's got a beachy vibe and does make you feel for a minute as if you aren't in Atlanta anymore.

Came in on a Friday night with a group of 6. Very busy. Had to wait probably an hour. No big deal. we waited outside and a server came by and asked us if we wanted anything to drink while we waited. 5 stars goes to atmosphere, service and food. All around great place. Service style is a little bit different just a heads up. You order as a group on a little note card and then the server picks it up. A manager came by and apologized for the wait. All of the tacos were delicious. We ordered ice creams and then after we finished they brought us more for free and said that they accidentally made extras. That was nice! I think you're expected to pay as 1 check. We didn't know that so the server split up our checks for us.

I love this location! Service can be a little off sometimes, but the food makes up for it! I love the guacomole, mushroom tamales, plantains, corn and the bowls! Food is served family style all on one tray so that can get kind of confusing if you have a group of more than two. It can get crowded on weekends. Try to sit on the beautiful patio is you can! Also, save room for the ice cream...delicious!!

Leaving now! Took a long time to seat us... Initially server seemed rude or rushed. Ordered mojito and margarita, also a guacamole and chips to start. The guacamole was great but my horrible friend thought it was too chunky and thinned it out with his fork (dinner foul). We ordered on our worksheet ; pork belly, chicken, wild boar, fried oyster, cucumber salad and hamachi ceviche. Our waiter was apparently busy so another awesome waiter named Devin came and went over our order with us. They were out of wild boar and also the ceviche. Devin was quick to offer close alternatives, we switched to plantains and a duck taco. The plantains and cucumber salad arrived quickly. The plantains were delicious!! Maybe the best I ever had. They come with an amazing cilantro cream sauce. I suggest you keep that for your tacos. The cucumber salad was good but definitely spicy. Tacos came out all on one platter, Devin helped us to sort out which was which. The duck I think had to be missing some toppings because it was just meat and tortilla, still good though. Fried oyster is my favorite!! So good... If you don't eat oysters this is a fool proof way to try them out fried. Pork belly has to be my guilty pleasure so of course that was good, the sweet sauce they use on it compliments it well. I tried a caipirinha drink which was too strong tasting in my opinion. My friend tried the port Chester reviver.. Also good but only if you can handle the gin taste. As far as drinks go, in the future I'll stick to my mojitos, they have a great one, they use all fresh ingredients. Im starting to think the wild boar taco is a mythical item on the menu because between the West Midtown location and the Buckhead one they are always out of it... Hmmm. Regretted that I didn't have enough room for the amazing spiced chocolate pudding. Try to save room if you go. If you go to Buckhead location ask for Devin! He's so nice, he wasn't out waiter but we tipped him anyways because he made the night more enjoyable and memorable. If you go to West Midtown location ask for Mario.

Enjoyed almost every taco and we ordered all of them! Great variety and drinks were good. This is a busy bar scene (noisy) and seems like an after work meet and greet spot if you're single and meeting friends. Music is always pumping and high energy. Service was pretty good too. Will come again!

Love the food, hate the service. Frequent customers at Buckhead and Midtown Bartacos, we sometimes go out of our way to frequent the Midtown restaurant since our neighborhood's location has service issues, but last night's service will keep us away for good. You would think it easy get the check to pay after eating at the bar. After taking 10 minutes to get anyone's attention, we were billed for much more than we'd ordered, then management argued the point most unpleasantly. No thanks.

Very cool, hip and trendy spot serving up non-pricey drinks, tacos, bowls and small plates. Yep, this space was previously a Dunkin Doughnuts but you'd never know - (completely gutted or only used the shell) sporting an open-air porch / dining / and bar area. My first visit was Friday May 15th - 6:00ish - packed on a wait - but only a few minutes (learned they also offer a call-ahead service)... Speaking of service, ours was excellent. The only area for minor improvement is the speed of drinks out of the bar - that seemed to be stressing servers - not so much the guests who all seemed to be having a blast - we did!

First, the good things. The pork belly tacos were maybe the best flavored tacos I've ever had. The spicy chorizo tasted great too. However, even after six tacos and an appetizer, my friends and I had to go to chick fil a after our meal to feel full / satisfied. It's just overpriced for the amount of food you get, and the service is pretty slow as well

Yummy... went here to celebrate my friends divorce and we all had a blast. The wait was rather long but it was a Fri and we were a large party. The food was great. The guacamole was the BEST! The tacos are definitely 2 or 3 bites but delicious. The manager gave us complimentary champagne. Great! !!

My girlfriends and I had been excited to try this place, so we went this past weekend and were really disappointed. We were told there was a 30 - 45 minute wait for a table, so we went to the bar to order drinks while waiting. Our drinks seemed like they hardly had any alcohol and then were $10 a piece... sorry but usually a vodka soda isn't a $10 drink. Our table ended up being ready in about 15 minutes, so our time we planed on sitting at the bar was cut short. For dinner our table all together ordered the chicken taco, ribeye taco, grilled corn, chips and salsa, cheese quesadilla and the sesame ribeye rice bowl. Literally none of us liked our food. We all agreed we would never choose this place over other similar taco restaurants in town. Giving two stars because the atmosphere is really cool and the location is great! Other than those two things, I can't really think of a reason to go back. Wish our experience had been better.

This is the second Bartaco to open in Atlanta and I'd say they're doing something right! But if you ask me, they're doing EVERYTHING right! From the staff, to the food, to their amazing freshly-squeezed margaritas, Bartaco Chastain Park is the place to be. Nothing beats a clear night, on their patio, under the stars with a good group of friends or family. Pair that with their tacos (duck, pork belly or chicken), guac and plantains (my favorite) and life doesn't get much better! Be sure to save room for dessert! Their gelato is to die for! Be sure to pay them a visit ASAP!

Food is flawless. Don't miss the mushroom tamale or the cauliflower taco! Service is quick, friendly and management immediately corrects any mistakes. There is a cocktail with tequila, muddled tomatillo and jalapeño that has us going there twice a week! Waits are long but you can call ahead and check the status on your phone. Easy enough. They are busy for good reason.

High concept bar with small bites. Ever been to a new place where the servers look like they might anticipate disappointment? They obviously spent a mint on the interiour and intend to pay for it with what looks like fusion tacos, but half the size of real taco. Seriously the tortillas are the size of a drink coaster. Order several or you will leave hungry. Interesting hot sauce condiments on the table, though I doubt many taste them as the food is quite spicy from the kitchen. Service was slow on a non-busy night. This place had a lot of potential but missed on many marks. From the looks on the staff this opinion is not unique.

Just could not stop eating! Started with the seasonal Caipirinha. That's a drink, very tasty, little sweet, lots of citrus. Had the grilled corn and plantains to start. Wish I didn't have to share the grilled corn it was really good. As far as tacos, I had the Baja fish, sesame ribeye, and pork belly for my first round. Had to order another pork belly and took a bite of the fried oyster on the second round. Tacos are small. The sauce they gave with the plantains was great on the tacos as well. Churros with chocolate sauce, terrific ending to this taco binge.

My wife and I went to the West Midtown location and couldn't wait to try this location because it's close to her office. While the menu is the same, something was a bit off because the tacos didn't taste nearly as good as the WM spot. The drinks took a little too long for my taste as well. Overall, it is definitely a cool vibe, but I'd pass on this location.

No queso, but a cool upscale tapas bar. Friendly folks and good location. Don't come hungry. Nice drinks.. .

I've visited the Chastain Park location twice. The first time in late March was a great experience-good food and good service. It was a little loud with our booth in the back near the kitchen. I ate there again last night at a table on the patio. The service was terrible--can't figure out if it was the waiter or the kitchen or a combo of both. There was no wait, so while the restaurant was crowded it wasn't as crowded as the first time we went. It took 10 minutes for anyone to come to the table to take a drink order. By that time, we were hungry so we ordered food as well. 15 minutes before our drinks arrived. The waiter came back to the table after 10 or so minutes to let us know they were out of rotisserie chicken. A couple of our items arrived - cole slaw and corn, but no chips and salsa until just before the mains arrived. The poor, slow service continued throughout the meal. As for the food, it was pretty good, though the oysters on the oyster taco were overcooked. Corn was a little overcooked, but the salsa (when it finally arrived) and the chicken rice bowl were great. We'll give bartaco one more chance, but I have to say it was highly disappointing last night. I could tell others around us were disappointed as well.

Very good food, exceptional atmosphere. I give this restaurant 5 stars overall, with the food coming in at a "4." The atmosphere, the drinks, and the service make up for the imperfect food rating. I've been a few times and each the service was excellent. Their drinks have a pretty good kick, so be prepared for them when you order. The tacos are smaller, and I normally can devour three for part of a filling meal. There is a more "authentic" taste for the food when you compare to other Mexican/Tapas type places. Overall, I highly recommend for a couple's night or a night out with a group of friends.

Tiny portions. OVERPRICED. Kind of a joke. Trying waaaay to hard to be different but comes up short.... Literally. . Go to Tin Lizzy's or any other taco spot. Service was good. Pork belly tacos were tasty.

Some of the best guacamole in Atlanta. Incredible plantains. My favorite tacos are the pork belly and fried oyster. Get the corn too. I could eat here 4 times a week...

This is my favorite Mexican food in town. Love the platters where you get to switch up sides and tacos. I can't wait for the Inman Park location to open too. Love the chorizo taco and cucumber side dish. Joselyn and Dan were our bartenders and were super friendly. Introduced themselves to us at the bar. Keep playing the good music. This place is going to be great for patio season.

I was beyond excited that Bartaco opened up right across the street from me. We tried it on a Sunday afternoon. The patio was packed. They had heaters and blankets on every seat. The patio is very cozy. Food was fantastic! Everything I ordered was delicious. Our service was pretty good as well. The drink selection was very fresh. I loved the sangria. I'll definitely be heading back.

This place is a great addition to the Chastain Park area. It has such a great atmosphere and friendly staff and it definitely doesn't hurt that it's conveniently located down the street from my office, making it a go-to for after work cocktails. There is a nice mix of cocktails and wine, though the mixed drinks can seem a little small. The food is awesome, and I haven't tried anything here that I haven't liked. The guacamole makes a delicious starter, so don't be afraid to order the large. All of their tacos are pretty spot on, but my absolute favorites are the fried oyster and sesame ribeye. I rarely order dessert, but I tried the coconut gelato the other night and it was to die for. All-in-all great spot and I'll definitely be back. Shout out to Larry and the chef for making our last trip completely memorable!

Amazing experience! Great food and phenomenal service! Larry our server was attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu. Rob the manager came by and introduced himself and the gave us some insight about the company he works for. It is refreshing to know and notice how passionate and devoted Bartacos employees are about what they do!

I went here because it was new and I wanted to give it a try. To my pleasant surprise every item on the menu is gluten-free, unless otherwise noted. This is important because my girlfriend has celiac disease which limits the places where she can eat out. The atmosphere was bright and upbeat and I started with a nice cold mojito. For my meal I started with the guacamole, which was fresh and tangy, and the pork tamale which was much larger than I expected and piping hot. For tacos I got the baja fish, pork belly, and sesame ribeye; all of which were delicious. If you're looking for a great summer spot with good gluten-free food and cold drinks you can't do any better.

We have been eagerly awaiting the opening of this BarTaco. The west side one is great, but far away from N. Buckhead. The new location had been open 4 days when we were there.Immediately greeted upon our arrival by the mgr., we were seated on the edge of the gorgeous patio with the huge fireplace and impressive fence made of railroad ties. Surprising how much floor space was in that former Dunkin Donuts. Our servers both were very attentive and knowledgeable about the food and libations...very impressive for the first week in operation! Having dined at the Westside location, it was a given that we would start our evening with the fantastic romaine salad with roasted pepitos and a mild cayenne pepper cream dressing. At Westside, this salad can be eaten with the fingers, but this evening there was a bit too much dressing to do this..but still DELICIOUS, Tacos: pork belly, Veracruz fish, Baja fish, falafel, chicken, duck....so good, and easy to eat. Yes, they are small...3 or 4 bites, but this allowed us to try different offerings without being stuffed to the gills. Also, be aware that the tacos are inexpensive. Drinks are pricey...wines averaged $10, but that's the norm for Buckhead. Although there are several outdoor games to keep the children occupied, there still were Those Families Who Let Their Kids Run Wild. One little girl ran right into a server carrying a full tray of drinks in one hand and hot cheese dip in the other. Thank goodness, the accident was averted by the dexterious server and no broken glass cut the unsupervised child. Parents never noticed, but everyone sitting nearby certainly did....this is something BarTaco will have to address. Other than that situation, we are SO THRILLED to have BarTaco nearby!!

We had a wonderful time celebrating St. Patrick' Day at Bar Taco! The service was excellent - food & drinks the best. We are excited to have Bar Taco in the N'Buckhead Chastain area of Atlanta. Kudos to Dan and his team!! Julie & Brad

Atmosphere is great, and drinks were delicious (spicy margaritas and mojitos)! Portion size for food was the only complaint. Everything was tiny. Definitely need at least two tacos, maybe three! 4 stars for drinks/atmosphere. 3 stars for food.

Great atmosphere, and a neat patio. Between the do-it-yourself ordering system and the small portion sizes, I'd describe this as the mexican-fusion version of sushi. Everything I tried on two visits was delicious (curry shrimp rice bowl, chorizo taco, baja fish taco, jalapeno slaw, guacamole), and 75% of the menu is gluten-free. Sangria was delicious. So, why only three stars? First, the do-it-yourself ordering system ends up providing lousy service. Every time I need my water glass refilled, I have to put up the little blue card and then, when the waitress arrives, stop my conversation and explain I need more water, which she then has to go get. At some point, it would be easier for them just to refill water as needed, like a "regular" server. And, because they have food runners bring your food, the waitress did not notice that, while the first round of tacos we ordered came in about 15 minutes, the second round did not come until we asked about them 30 minutes later. Second, there is no description on the menu about any of the food. There is a baja fish taco and a veracruz fish taco. Period. No indication that one is fried and one is grilled. No indication of what fish is used (one is perch and one is cod, we were told). No description of sauce, toppings, etc. I think my next visit will be easier now that I am a little more familiar with the food, or I may just get takeout and avoid the non-service service.

Good food. Nice menu. Took the kids a few times. Go early with children as it has a nightlife scene. Not too pricy.

No food item description on menu. You take your own order. "Salsa and chips" is really salsa and shells. They bring the table's order all on one tray and you need to figure out who gets what. I won't be back.

Worst service in history. Waited so long for drinks we left. Didn't get to food order. Crazy bad.

Most of the bad reviews for this restaurant are service oriented and I must say I concur. Although I do not fault the servers themselves. Our server and all of those that helped us were very nice. The system they use to order food is totally a waste of good servers. They ask that you fill out a card with your order and they bring the food as it is prepared. The deliveries were so spaced out that everyone finished eating by the time my wife got her food. They also brought out a couple of incorrect dishes, which defeats the purpose of writing down your own order. As others have complained about, our drinks took about 15 minutes to arrive which is way too slow if they plan on making any money on drinks. I would have ordered another if it didn't take so long. The guacamole was good, but other than that out food was mediocre. They put apt of spice on everything which is fine by me, but that is all of the flavor that you taste. I had 3 tacos and all three had the same fire. The redeeming quality was the space itself. Open air, good atmosphere, and decor. I would go back for drinks, but would sit at the bar to shorten the length of time I have to wait for a drink. I would not go back for the food. It was not bad, but there are many other good Mexican restaurants.

Bar Taco recently opened a new location in Buckhead, which was already thriving after only a week. All of their menu items are flawlessly prepared and mouthwatering, from the perfectly crispy Baja fish tacos and incredibly tasty grilled corn to the deliciously sweet plantains and spiced chocolate pudding topped with chopped hazelnuts. All food items are under $10.00, allowing patrons to try a variety of delectable items while offering an affordable dining experience. The drinks are exceptional as well, as only freshly-squeezed juices are used...you won't find any mixes here! We dined at the bar and enjoyed extraordinary service, which was on point and friendly. I highly recommend Bar Taco, your taste buds will thank you for it!

Had a wonderful experience here tonight! Staff was great especially the manager Dan and our server! Yummy food! Highly suggest the pork belly and sesame ribeye. Corn on the cob was great too! Can't wait to go back soon and try out the west midtown location!

Fantastic food! My favorite is the pork belly taco! They are tapas, meaning small plates so if you're hungry order 3 or 4! Definitely a place to try, the atmosphere is cozy and the staff is great! The manager Rob was friendly and our waiter Nick was very attentive. This is a definite go-to spot in Atlanta!!

Had our first Bartaco Chastain Park experience today and it was amazing! Our server, Juls was on point! She was very attentive, made great suggestions for delicious tacos and never let me glass get empty. I call that awesome service! We will definitely be back and we will 100% ask for Juls and the Atlanta cokes :)

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
