    This place is kind of hit or miss. I usually go to the one off Lawrenceville Hwy and Hugh Howell but it seems like it's the same restaurant. I always get the Amaretto Chicken/Combination. On this particular occasion at this location, it was good--but not great as usual. My gf wasn't particularly that impressed by her Chicken Romano either. Too tangy, she said. I'll still come back whenever the craving strikes, but it's not a staple in my dining repertoire.

    Terrible. The food is prepackaged or frozen and heated up. The claim was chewy because of it being frozen. I mdm't eat bread, but I could tell it was just typical store bought. Everything was way over salted. It's concerning when you walk in on a Saturday night at prime time and there are only two tables sat in the entire restaurant. I expected MUCH better since this place has been here forever. The decor is gross and very dated. I ordered simply grilled eggplant with no oil, no cheese, sauce on the side. It came to me battered, with ricotta cheese drenched in extremely salty marinara sauce. I told them to take is back and I didn't want anything else. At least the salad was good.

    For my first visit, I must say I am very disappointed. This place is on ScoutMob and rightfully so. This is the only reason I would go here ever and maybe not even then. It was very odd for a Sunday evening for the restaurant to be completely empty - Seriously. We were the only ones in most of our visit. A few other people came in a little bit later. As we ordered our meals, we received salad and garlic bread. The salad was drowning in whatever dressing and just okay. I'm not a salad person but it's not normal.The garlic rolls were not the softest but seemed to have enough garlic texture and flavor. Disappointing. I had the Chicken Marsala. Honestly, a box of Michealena's Chicken Marsala from Costco tastes better then this. The marsala was bland and watered down. The menu states chicken breasts - so one would expect a chicken breast. Not a chicken breast cut up into smaller strips. Very disappointing and likely won't be back.

    I've been to this restaurant twice. The first time I came here, I took my family from out of town and all of us thought the food was just okay, nothing spectacular. Two years later, I decided to give it another shot because it happened to be on Scoutmob (50% off your meal up to $20). It changed from just okay to slightly below okay. We got seated with a host who also happened to be our waiter as well. There was not one person besides us in the restaurant on a Sunday night. By the time we finished our meal, a couple other tables had been occupied. We ordered our meals which came with salad and garlic bread. The salad was drowning in Italian dressing. In fact, you could tell it was drowning when it appeared on the table. I'm not sure why they didn't fix that before serving it. The garlic rolls were good in texture but lacked in garlic. I was a bit disappointed. I ordered the Chicken Romano as my main dish because I had seen other reviews on this dish and the waiter said it was his most popular dish. Once again, I was highly disappointed. The chicken didn't taste bad but the Marsala sauce was extremely watered down. I have a feeling, if it were a bit thicker, the dish would've been perfect. For $18 a plate, I would expect real sauce. The waiter barely spoke to us the entire time except when I asked for a dish recommendation. When we left the restaurant the waiter looked at us and didn't even say "thank you". I was so disappointed, not sure I'd be going back.

    It's good food. Definately very homely-Italian. Quite authentic. The house red wine is quite good (its from California - the kind that is ~$10 at a grocery store). And so is dessert. I am not giving it 5 stars because it is not *fancy* italian food. It's like the food you would get if an Italian family invites you over for a dinner on a week night and it is no one's birthday. Costs $40/pp with wine, dessert, tax, tip and IMO, even though the food is *good*, it is simple and should not cost this much ... I gave it the fourth star simply because our waiter was so good. I think he was the owner (Alex) he was definately passionate about the restaurant and their food; absolutely gregarious and down to earth personality. Great guy. But with $30pp Nori Nori sushi buffet next door (tax, tip), unless you hate japanese food, its tough to chose Aldo's ...

    After a stroll through Trader Joes down the street, after securing my buckhead P.O. box, we were looking for a nice little spot to sit down for lunch. My friend suggested Mellow Mushroom, but I was not in the mood for pizza. Or so I thought. I spotted this place as we headed north on Roswell Road and we decided to stop in. Actually it was a choice between this place and the sushi spot next door. I was definitely NOT in the mood for sushi, even though my bulging stomach warranted it. But, we made the right choice. What a lovely find. I am not going to argue the "authenticity" of the place. I am not an expert on Italian food and besides...we ordered the lunch buffet. Reminiscent of Shakey's , but it bit better. No mojo potatoes, but the potatoes were good nonetheless. The pizza was great, the manicotti was delish and the salad bar was decent. I was happy with the service as well. The staff were attitude-free! I like that at a food spot. They bought out garlic bread that was sooo good, but not better than C & O in Marina Del Rey. Still, all you can eat lunch at 7.95, I'll chose this place over the Olive Garden lunch special ANY DAY. I plan to go back soon as I get used to the area. This is now my second favorite restaurant in Atlanta. As good as it is....Nathalies in downtown Decatur is still my fave. :)

    The entrees come with a salad and house dressing and some bread with garlic butter. I had the posillippo - clams, mussels, and shrimp in a white clam sauce served over linguini. I was quite pleased to see this came with a nice reasonably sized portion of pasta instead of the pound that some restaurants might try to serve.

    We had our rehearsal dinner here and everyone was a fan. For a party of twenty or just for two I think this is a good spot to check out. Very friendly staff with a good atmosphere. Good food too. Located right next to Nori Nori f that helps.

    Chicken Romano is not as good as the last time :( it could've used more time in the oven to cooked that mozarella all the way through ... the mushrooms couldve used some time as well. However, it was still great. Hubby's jumpo schrimp sampi was also delicious but the pasta was overcooked, it got mushy on his plate after about 15 minutes. Salad was great, and bread was also pretty good this time around. Ambiance still okay, but it gets a bit awkward when theyre empty on the peak hours of Friday night. Service was a bit slow at first, but all in all, pretty good. There's currently a scoutmob out, and I think that people should give this place a chance especially around dinner time. Based on other recent reviews, this place seems to be a hit or miss, so maybe management needs to pay more attention to the consistency of their product and their service. all in all, this visit was not as great as the first time, but I will definitely come back again.

    Came here on the recommendation of our friends. The service was good and our food came out quickly, 1 hour and we were out the door which is impressive. I had some sort of lobster ravioli in tomato creme sauce, and my hubby had chicken with linguini in some sort of cheese cream sauce. The food wasn't bad but it wasn't delicious either. We will probably try it again if some of our friends want to go. But it's not the highlight of Sandy Springs Dining.

    After attending a few group events in their back room over the years, having only appetizers, J and I decided to try out Aldo's for lunch. It helped that there was a Scoutmob. At noon on a Friday, there was practically no one there... just one gentleman at the bar and 4 at a table in the side room, who looked like they could be regulars. The lunch menu has all the traditional American Italian favorites, including sandwiches. I went with the Veal Piccata while Jimmy got the Spaghetti and Meatballs. While we waited, we were brought rolls covered in chunky garlic and oil. They were ok, nothing special. I was hungry enough to eat one, but I probably would avoid in the future if I had more will power. It seemed to take a while to get the entrees, particularly considering there was no rush. But the food was good when it arrived. The portion size was generous for the cost. There were a lot of onions in my piccata, not that I mind, but it wasn't what I was expecting. The bite I had of J's was just what I'd expected - A-OK. In short, if you're using the Scoutmob, and you're in the area, it's a nice quiet spot for lunch, but as Lauren P mentioned, not worth a special trip. Speaking from past experience, they do make for a good meeting space, as there is ample parking, a back room that can hold at least 20, and reasonable rates.

    What a treat! We stopped here last Monday on the way home from the airport. Starving is a tame word to describe how hungry I was. Bread was warm and gooey. Appetizer and entrees were simply delicious, you need to try the stuffed shrimp. Couldn't have asked for better, faster service.

    Aldo's is a classic Italian restaurant, I haven't tasted Italian food this authentic since New York. The ambiance is intimate and welcoming. Perfect date night spot. I've eaten here at least 10 times and I have never had a bad time. It is truly a well hidden gem in Sandy Springs. The menu is reasonable and they often have evening specials crafted by the chef on staff. I have never been disappointed. I had the lobster ravioli and literally fought the urge to lick my plate clean. Solid spot with amazing service and delicious food!

    Hubby and I walked in for a Valentine's dinner on a budget. They had advertised in mail-"V-day special consisting of: 1 bottle of wine ( up to 19$), 1 appetizer(up to 6$), 2 entrees(up to $15.95) and 1 dessert all for $49.95! " Sounded good to us and apparently all of the Sandy Springs area. There were sooo many people inside. We had made our reservation 2 weeks prior for 8:00pm. We arrived at 7:45pm. Once we entered we waited at what looked to be the hostess stand. No one acknowledged us for 10minutes. I finally tapped one of the busy servers speeding by. I alerted him of our reservation and he said , "Noted!" Now I was getting annoyed at this point and would have left but everyone knows V-day is packed anywhere that's decent. At 8:15, a server helped us to a table and got our Cabernet to us quickly. He was sweet and brought all the ladies a rose. Our app salads came out at 8:45! Dinner at 9:20! The late dinner consisted of veal and pasta for him for $25.00 (u pay the difference) and my shrimp scampi for $15.95. The food was fine but it took entirely too long and we had a 10:00 jazz thing to go to. Dessert hadn't come out and it was 9:40. I asked the server to wrap it up, so we could roll. Needless to say we missed our jazz event opportunity and turned home early. This restaurant shouldn't advertise such specials and not even have a host or the kitchen staff to accommodate the demand. I observed numerous disgruntled consumers at their establishment that night.

    My wife and I love Italian cuisine and Aldo's has always been one of our favorite spots in Sandy Springs. I always get the lasagna here...the red sauce is amazing. The patio was renovated last year and is great on a nice night. We always try to get the server Alex. He's been around forever and has a big personality that you will not forget The owner is always sure to make it around to the tables and say hello. It's definitely a restaurant that cares about their customers and we love going regularly.

    So I decided to try this restaurant out with my family since they had a $40 for $20 deal. The only things that this restaurant has going for it is the mediocre ambiance. The salad didn't taste very fresh, the bread didn't taste very fresh. The pasta dishes were not that great. The pasta tasted overcooked and too salty. The prices are medium to high with main dishes ranging from $14 - $22. At the end of the night, when I showed the waiter my coupon deal from yelp, it took him about 15 minutes to figure out what was going on. I think for the value, I would have rather gone to Olive Garden.

    We had eaten here many years ago when they first opened and were not impressed. So after all those years and they had not closed, I figured they must have improved. I found a coupon in one of the mailers I receive so I decided we'd give it another try. Never again. First, the service. We were taken care of but he acted like he could really care less. Finally I guess another woman caught on to his attitude and took over most of the service. After he asks my husband what we want to drink, I order the bottle of wine. He returns presenting it to my husband. I said, yes, that is what I ordered. He then proceeds to open and pour my husband a taste! I reached over and tasted the wine and said, that will be fine. Thank you. He was not pleased. The food. Caesar salad, so much Parmesan you couldn't see romaine. Much less taste anything else. I had linguine and clam sauce. Clams clearly out of a can. No flavor or tenderness whatsoever. My husband had veal Marsala. And tho I couldn't tell if they were canned, they had gone through some process because they definitely were not fresh. It was an ok dish. My friend had eggplant Parmesan. It was so-so. It's summer. I'm getting eggplant from my garden everyday now. It should have been spectacular. It appears the restaurant is being run by middle easterners, so the atmosphere doesn't even feel Italian. 1 star for service, 1 star for food, 1 star for ambiance. We will never go back. Too many good Italian restaurants in the area to waste your time and money on this one.

    I had worked late, the traffic was heavy and I was hungry. So I checked Scout Mob and thought I would try out Aldo's. I ordered the Chicken Parmesana. It was not bad. Not great either. It came with a salad and some bread. I was a tad bit disappointed that the bread didn't come with olive oil, but whatev. Anyway, the parmesana was okay. Service was fine. There is plenty of parking at this Sandy Springs location. Oh, the owner came to check on me and I really like that. He brought a friendly smile and warm personality. This restaurant has the whole white tablecloth decor going on and at night they light candles, so it looks romantic. They have an awesome patio overlooking the busy intersection of Roswell Road and Abernathy. With Scout Mob my meal was a whooping $7 plus tax and gratuity. Sounds like a deal to me!

    I would've loved to rate this place with 5 stars, and I would have on Friday night after we got home. However, I woke up at 5am on Saturday morning with the worst food poisioning I have ever experienced. The chicken parmesan seemed cooked thoroughly, but something was obviously wrong with it. I was still sick through Sunday afternoon until it was all completely out of my system. My fiance, however, did not get sick at all, so it had to be the chicken parm. With all that said, the service was great, nice atmosphere, and the food was delicious. We won't be going back because of the severe food poisoning, but for everyone else it would probably be great.

    Aldo's is an old school Italian restaurant. It's been around as long as I can remember. Located in the same shopping center as Nori Nori on the corner of Roswell Rd. and Abernathy Rd. I came here for a Saturday night dinner with family. The restaurant was busy, but we were still able to get seated immediately without a reservation. The space inside has a traditional tablecloth setup with a mixture of cushioned booths and tables. At night, the atmosphere is candlelit and romantic, though it feels a bit dated and can get loud. There's a covered outdoor patio too. The restaurant serves Italian comfort food from pastas to veal, chicken, steaks and seafood. They offer about a dozen selections of each type (pasta, veal, chicken, etc.) and have pizza too. Pasta entrees are anywhere from $10-15 while the meat and seafood entrees can go up to as much as $25 per. I tried a handful of items from their menu: Appetizer: Mussels - simmered in white clam sauce and served over angel hair Entrees: Lasagna Eggplant Parmigiana - fried strips of eggplant baked with ricotta, mozzarella, and marinara Salmon - blackened and served with vegetables and pasta Overall, not bad, but also not very memorable. The mussels seemed fresh enough. No unpleasant "fishy" taste. I enjoyed the smooth angel hair pasta soaked in white clam sauce. Flavorful. Each entree came with a house salad and garlic bread, both of which were good. The Lasagna came baked in one of those oval-shaped bowls with miniature handles. It was served piping hot. I had to give it several minutes to cool down. I was a little disappointed in the dish. It was very mushy and didn't have enough cheese, especially the hardened, chewy kind that can form at the edges. I used the garlic roll to help sop up a lot of the food. The Eggplant Parmigiana was OK. Like the Lasagna, I thought the Parmigiana could have used more cheese. It was heavy on the marinara. The ricotta was great -- light and creamy and slightly sweet. We were disappointed in the blackened Salmon. This dish was quite bland and ordinary. At least it was healthy. The veggies included broccoli, zucchini, squash, and red bell pepper. I think they were steamed. Not much flavor at all. Service was very good. The food and drinks came out in no time and our server was friendly and attentive. If you're in the neighborhood looking for Italian cuisine, Aldo's is certainly worth a visit, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here.     I've been to Aldo's a few times and I've never had a bad experience. I always get the shrimp linguine alfredo, and it's delicious. The pasta sauce is thicker than you would find at most restaurants, and the shrimp are huge. I've had the fried mozzarella twice; it's not mozzarella sticks, it's actually a chunk of fried mozzarella. It's average - definitely not bad! Just not much different than any other kind of fried mozzarella. I like the salad that comes with your meal; it has chickpeas, beets, cucumbers. Very tasty. I don't much care for the bread, but a lot of other people like it. I will say that they seem to have an extremely small waitstaff. I noticed other reviews have complained about having to wait a long time for their food, and while I have never had that experience, I can believe it. I only see a couple workers whenever I'm there. There's never anyone by the host/hostess table up front, and sometimes I have to wait a couple of minutes for anyone to appear. Overall, I think it's a great Italian place in Sandy Springs. The prices are reasonable and the food is quite good.

    Aldo's is great for your standard Italian fare. It's not the best pasta I've ever had but a far cry from bad. If you're in the mood for buttery rolls, crisp salad and a good ole plate of chicken parmesan then Aldo's is your spot. Kevin P. and I have been here twice. We've had the same server both times and he's always been great. The garlic rolls drenched in oily goodness are a great start, followed by a traditional salad with even more EVOO dressing (as Rachel Ray would say) and the entrees are usually brought within 30 minutes. The marsala is deliciously cooked according to traditional recipes. Aldo's is also very generous with their portions. Y'all can share an entree or eat half and save the rest for later. This restaurant's location is ideal for those in the Sandy Springs/Dunwoody area but it's not worth the trek from Buckhead. For now, Aldo's remains our favorite neighborhood Italian joint.

    Semi-formal, prices are about right. $30 for two with no drinks. The bread is delicious. We got moved from our table and the manager gave us a free creme brûlée. The surface of it wasn't as crispy as I'm used to but it tasted delicious nonetheless. Food was good. Nothing to complain about.

    One night, my family was looking for a place to eat, somewhere Italian. My uncle and aunt love this place, and actually came to the location at least twice per month. So, we went and boy were we surprised. The environment is very authentic with very dim lights, wine bottles and fake vines at the front and around the well-kept bar. The menu included a wide variety of delicious Italian food. The waiter was a funny, kind Italian man from Queens, New York. The owner was also very friendly and greeted us at the door. A great place overall, and I highly recommend it.

    I am so frustrated by my second experience at Aldos that I am writing this while still sitting at the table. I walked in with a spring in my step I was so excited to eat. I will be leaving with a spring in my step because I can't get out of here quickly enough! Our server, Sam, is awful. AWFUL! We have been here for almost an hour and a half...most of the time spent waiting on Sam. Let's start with our pre-meal experience. Our salad took a bit to come. Not a big deal, because they serve bread, right? Right? My husband and I thought that maybe they stopped offering bread. Until we saw the server in the section next to ours giving it to all of his tables. We had to flag down a busser to ask for some. Our server was nowhere to be found to ask. After what seemed like a really long time, our food came. My lasagna noodles were hard. Like not cooked through hard. Not al dente hard...dry hard. So, I sent the lasagna back. About 10 minutes later my second lasagna came. The noodles were cooked a bit more this time...but the middle was cold! My husband was already finished with his meal, so I figured I would just reheat it at home rather than wait for a third lasagna (I have no idea why the lasagna gods are mad at me lately, as this recently happened at another restaurant). So I thought I would just ask Sam for a box. But 10 minutes later, Sam hadn't even checked in with us to make sure my new lasagna was ok...15 minutes later and I was getting angry. So when I finally started to get up to go and find him, Sam came back. I told him that I just wanted a box to reheat at home since the lasagna was cold...and what did Sam do? Nothing! I mean, I almost had to send back 2 lasagnas. He could have at least offered dessert or SOMETHING. We did have an Entertainment Book coupon, but the coupon didn't cover the entire dish...so the dish should have at least been taken off in its entirety. We placed our credit card in the little bill booklet and waited...and waited...and waited...but Sam seemed in no hurry to come back. Praise the good Lord I had cash in my purse, so that we were able to finally just take out the credit card, leave cash and now we can get the heck out of here! I used to be a huge fan...I don't think that now I will ever go back. I haven't had that horrible of service in an extremely long time.

    We got there late one night, found about it through Scoutmob. When we walked in, we were the only ones there, like a ghost town. Suffice to say, we were a little worried. However, the food was great, and despite my wife's pasta dish being a little bland, it was taken care of, and they certainly made it right. I had the chicken parmigiana, and it was great. Service was friendly and great, food was great, and we'll definitely be back. Also, I was amazed at the value.

    One of the very worst restaurant experiences I have had in a long time! Came here recently for dinner with my boyfriend's family, there were a total of 7 of us at our table and I would say...about 10 other people in the rest of the restaurant as well as a medium sized party in the back. I have an issue with using a party of people as an excuse for terrible service- parties make reservations, meaning, your service staff should be prepared to serve that # of people and yet, still serve the rest of the restaurant. We waited 90 minutes (that's an hour-and-a-half in case you weren't aware) for our meals. We were never asked if we wanted anything to drink and we weren't provided with anything, such as complimentary desserts or taking a meal off of the tab for the 2 1/2 hours we spent at this restaurant, waiting. And as for the food itself? I mean, it was okay? Nothing to write home about, I never thought I'd EVER say this, but I'd rather be at the Olive Garden. Funny enough, prior to his family deciding to come here I read Yelp reviews and saw that service was terrible, they were quite correct. I will never come here again. Oh, and 1 more thing, bringing us rolls over and over and over again, does not make up for your crappy service.

    Went here this evening in search of another good Italian restaurant. This one was just ok. I had the fried mozzarella, which was above average, and the chicken marsala, which was unmemorable. It is so hard to find a good chicken marsala here, what's up with that??? The owner was very nice, but the waiter was slow, and it took about 15 minutes to get our drinks. The owner apologized and gave us a free appetizer to make up for it. So I overlooked that part of the experience. I would give this place another try, but I have many more Italian restaurants to check out first.

    My favorite italian restaurant! I love carbonara and it is not listed on the menu. However, the restaurant did not a problem whipping it up for me and it was sooooo good. I love their fresh chilled salads and the bread which has the melted butter in the bottom of the bowl. The portions are generous and taste just as good the next day as leftovers.You have a choice of seating inside or outside on a patio which both can be romantic.

    This place is the bottom of the barrel. Cockroaches crawled out of the dessert. Insects were found in the salads. Sauces are poured out of cans. Parmesan cheese is processed and shaken from a can a la Sbarros. Revolting and disgusting.

    6 of us went there on Saturday night and really had a great time. The food was very good, although one of the people in my party was disappointed in her dish which was the special of the night, Ravioli stuffed with Lobster. I had chicken marsala, delicious, my husband had the eggplant parmesan, also delicious, and although the rolls took some time to get to us, they were great once they did. Also started the meal with fried calamari which were really really good! I'd recommend this restaurant if you love italian food and don't want to spend a fortune.

    My boyfriend and I both ordered the Posillipo. He got it with marinara sauce and I got mine with white sauce. Each of our dishes had multiple fragments of shell in them, ranging from dime-sized to smaller. We picked several of the pieces out, but my boyfriend did not see a large fragment, nearly choked, and had to spit his food out. At that point both of us lost our appetite, even though we had only eaten a small portion of our meal. When we complained to the manager (also our server), he claimed that any dish with shellfish would have fragments of shell, and that we should be more careful (and yet we have both ordered dishes with shellfish before and have never had this problem). He offered to give us a free dessert but when we declined he attempted to bill us full price for the meal. When we complained again, after arguing with us some more he knocked off the price of one meal and a salad. We were glad he adjusted the price, but we won't go there again due to the fact that we had to argue for something that should have been offered to begin with, and also because we should have never been served food that had been so poorly prepared.
