Not to much to say in this review. The prices are so so, more on the overpriced side. I mean 4.75 for two spring rolls and 10$ per bowl of pho may not seem like that much but after some of the places I've eaten this is overpriced for the quality of the food. There's also not much to say about the food itself. The spring rolls are huge, but they always, always fall apart. Secondly the broth tastes watered down. My girlfriend enjoys the vegetarian broth so that's a bonus, but other then that no go. The service is okay, just wish there was better in Athens!

First off: Absolutely amazing incredible delicious banh mi. Super super good. The Classic has this tender, thinly sliced pork belly that I can't get enough of. The vegetarian one is surprisingly just as good (maybe even slightly better), with it's flavorful tofu and meat-substitute. It's always a toss up for me which one I'll end up with. The ailoli, pate, and pickled carrot/daikon come together on both sandwiches to make something truly great. Normally, if I love something this much from a restaurant, I try to learn how tto recreate it at home so I can have it whenever I want. But there's no way I could get this just right, so I'll keep coming back. However: This place does have some drawbacks. Most notably, service is slow. Slooow. About a month ago, the owner apologized for the long wait for our Banh Mi's and said that they hired some new people that are getting in the swing of things. Cool, I understand completely; no biggie. I'll just give the new staff some time to learn the ropes. I went back recently and it's still just as slow. Since I love the food so much, I just consider this a fact of life and act accordingly. I only go if I've got a lot of time and good company, or can phone in my order ahead. Some other notes: I like the pho, but I've had better. It doesn't matter though because I'm ordering Banh Mi. I haven't tried anything else. And seriously, I would get fried spring rolls every time if they weren't five dollars. Let's be real. $3 is reasonable and $2 is fair. The decor is pretty awesome. They rotate local art that's for sale and it's always, so far, been really good. The owner and staff are also really nice.

I've spent a lot of time and money here over the years getting my Pho fix. Good quality Pho, but hit or miss depending on when you come in. Somedays the broth is incredible with hella meat, other days it tastes watered down and is noodle-rich. Springrolls and banh mi are always good, service always sucks. You can count on a 15+ minute wait from when you order until you take your first bite, no matter how busy. You have to ask for thai basil, tripe costs extra, and prices are rather exorbitant compared to Atlanta pho spots (a large pho dac biet w/tripe will set you back $15!!!) but price aside, on a good day, this pho is 2nd to none, Still the best in Athens. -1 star for inconsistent food, consistently slow service -1 star for high prices

Great place to go in Athens if you're hung over or have a major headache. I came here probably once a month or every 2 months during undergrad. Athens I think had 2 pho shops, but Just Pho was always there for me! Parking is awesome. It's in a strip mall, so can't go wrong when trying to find a spot. Pho - I was actually introduced to pho in college. I liked it. I'm not a picky pho person unless it really really really sucks. Just Pho satisfied my pho cravings! Owners - super nice people. Always said hi to me when I walked in :) There is indoor and outdoor (I think?) seating. Plenty of spots but this place isn't huge. I never waited when I walked in. But then again I went at random times haha. Overall when I do visit Athens - I stop by and say hello to the owners and grab a drink or dessert to go. PS I think they are the only shop now to have bubble tea in Athens? Someone correct me if I'm wrong!

I figured I would give this place a shot since I've been looking for a good pho shop to frequent since moving from California. Based upon the prior reviews, this place should be decent. I got the beef pho and #7 banh mi plus the cafe sua da. #36 beef pho - the broth was bland. I was expecting a rich beefy meaty broth but was let down. Would not eat pho here again. #7 banh mi - it was good. The meat was marinated well and paired well with the pickled carrots and daikon. Though the bread was a little hard, the filling more than made up for the lack of freshness. Cafe sua da - it was pretty neat having it steeped right in front of you. Though it wasn't as strong as I would've preferred, it was ok. The best part of this meal was the banh mi. Everything else was lacking in flavor. I'm not sure as to whether or not I'd swing by again even if I was in the area.

I ordered to pho to take home assuming that everything in included; however, when I open it at home there were no veggies, and the broth was so little that barely cover my noodles. Taste is ok, not the best pho.

This pho restaurant has to be one of the worst. I came here on a Sunday cause yummy pho was closed. Never go here they will make you wait 45 minutes just as they did to me. P.s. Their com bo luc lac looks and tastes like dog food Epilogue: Even after all 12 of my friend ate I ended up leaving and not eating.

Flavorless broth! Horrible service! Ordered 2 bowls of pho and spring rolls we were there for almost 2 hours. The pricing seems a bit high too for what we received ($25) I have never had to put in and continue to put in so much different sauces while eating it hoping to get more flavor but it was no good. All over really disappointed. Will not go back.

Almost $30 for medium pho and a vermicelli pork bowl and two spring rolls. Nothing very tasty. And really a pho place that says they don't have sprouts, but "found" a few when I said it wouldn't taste right without it. Appetizer came out after the main course. Will not return.

The service has sometimes been ok and sometimes been incredibly slow. I once waited over 40 minutes for two orders of pho. The pho itself is ok, probably my preferred choice in Athens. Prices aren't too bad.

Best pho in Athens, even better than some pho restaurants in Atlanta. Daughter is a sophomore at UGA & wants to go to Just Pho most the times we visit her. The chicken pho is becoming our favorite because the thinly slice chicken breast is very sweet,& fresh, tasted like natural chickens. We spoke to the owner lady before & she explained in Vietnamese to us how they prepare the beef broth with only quality beefs & cook them for long slow cooking. I would imagine they do the same with the chicken pho. We started asking for extra sliced white onions & chopped green onions in our pho - the best way to eat pho with lots of fresh herbs. Fresh basil, cilantro, & bean sprouts served on the side. Durian & avocado smoothies are great. Anyway, enjoy some very good pho.

Service is slow all the time but mostly when they get a little busy. I called 50 minutes ahead for 3 sandwiches and came and still had to keep waiting bc they weren't finished making them.. Overall had to wait a whole hour for something I called in ahead of time.. The pho's flavor is not the best either. For them to be charging the prices they charge.. I expect a lot more with service and pho.

I recommend ordering 19B, which is a vegetarian bowl of very fresh sprouts in a tangy sauce.

I have had a lot of pho in my day, from East to West coast. Especially from California, so I believe I have a pretty good idea what pho should be. This was a very watered down version to me, and really lacked the depth that the broth should have. Even their spring rolls were lacking the strong basil that should be there. It was a very clean and nice atmosphere, and I thought the service was okay (though a bit slow). However in general I would have to say this was a 'pho'-gettable experience.

For all the great food Athens has, it sure is lacking in good Vietnamese places. In honor of Vietnamese New Year, I decided to give Just Pho a try, despite my doubts about the food and the name of the place itself. We got spring rolls to share, I ordered the bun bo luc lac and my bf got the pho. Nothing was bad, but because I've had Vietnamese food many times before, it was hard not to compare it to other places. It was a little weird to me that there was no fish sauce on the table, which is basically the equivalent of salt in Viet cooking and almost always needed to add to your pho. Overall, it was fine. It definitely was a lot pricier than places I've been in Atlanta, and it wasn't the best Vietnamese food I've had, but it was good. If I have an intense craving, I know where to go.

I ventured out to Just Pho today. I ordered a dish that was supposedly their specialty based on the recommendation from the waitress. I had my first bite, and had to spit it out. It was disappointing. I have had their Pho as well. Flavorless and overpriced food. Go to Atlanta if you are looking for good vietnamese food and good service.

I love their pho. They do it right with all the accoutrements. I've only ever had the pho chay (veggie broth with tofu) and it's always good. Their coffee options are amazing. My favorite is the iced black Vietnamese coffee. The service can be shitty but that's par for course for any pho place. Highly recommended.

I love this place. The staff is super friendly and nice. The last time I visited, a lady who I assume was either the manager or owner came out from the back and had a long conversation with us, and played with my son. She was very nice and even offered to bring us extra condiments and sauces for our meal at no charge. I added tofu to my dish and they only charged me a few extra cents. The pho is fantastic, and there are tons of vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. If I had to pick a complaint it would be that they don't have much by way of appetizers or finger food for the kids, but their normal menu items are so yummy (and reasonably priced) that it doesn't matter. Just really delicious, fresh, healthy food.

Why this place has fewer stars than Yummy Pho is a mystery to me. Authentic, home made, fresh, crunchy, crispy Vietnamese food is right here, and the couple that runs it takes care of their customers. Everything is bursting with flavor and not too sweet. Vegetarian options are much better tasting than so-called Yummy Pho. Yes, I've been to fancier, more inventive Vietnamese restaurants with longer menus, but this place does everything it offers right. 5 stars for Athens, maybe 4 stars if it were New York or BuHi. So very glad this place exists.

Ate here when passing through town. Just as the name suggests, you can only get pho...plus whatever else is on the menu. In all seriousness, it was great food. I had the chicken pho and the wife had the tofu. I actually liked the broth in the veggie one better! I've never had pho before so I can't speak to authenticity, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. The service was prompt and friendly, though we were the only ones in at 3pm. It seemed clean (noticed the 100% sanitation grade.) I don't give it five stars because the atmosphere was a little stale. Eat here. I think you'll dig it.

Probably the most horrid experience i have ever had as a consumer, not counting any government offices. First of all, the waitstaff are very condescending. A bunch of smartasses. I had never eaten Vietnamese before and was looking forward to trying something new. The waitress snickered at my lack of knowledge of said cusine, and it was all downhill from there. It took almost an hour to get our food and when it came, it had gone cold and wasnt even what we had ordered. When we told our server, she brought the owner over to our table and he suggested we "try the entrees anyway." Pissed off and hungry, I did just that and it was disgusting. They still charged us full price for our meal and didnt even apologize. The theme from Apocalypse Now reverberated in my head as we walked out. Where's Robert Duvall and the 7th Cavalry when you need them?

Very confusing and disappointing experience. (The too long; didn't read version of this is hair in food, but owner still wants the money. It's policy.) I have been looking for a place to try pho for the first time, so I settled on Just Pho as a result of the great reviews. The interior is pretty casual and clean enough, so I ordered a medium bowl of pho with a combination of several meats as well as a bbq pork sandwich. The pho was not interesting, but it was served with a bowl of bean sprouts that definitely upped the flavor. About 4 noodle and sprout forkfuls in, I noticed something dark in my sprouts. Whatever it was, it was super tangled and really in there. Suddenly starting to feel queasy, I picked through the sprouts and pulled out a very long, straight, dark hair. I pushed the plate away. While waiting for the waitress to come back, I took a bite of my sandwich. I really felt like I could not get past the hair, so I decided to just stop eating entirely. When she arrived I pointed the hair out to her and she offered to bring another bowl of pho which I politely declined. Please note, I didn't ask for the manager. I just pointed the hair out. Since the hair ruined the pho, I decided that out of courtesy, I would pack up the sandwich (and throw it away later) but I would still pay for that part of the meal. This was supposed to be a, "No hard feelings. I'm sure this doesn't usually happen" gesture. (I know a number of people who would not have paid for a single thing.) I removed my credit card and waited for the waitress to return. Instead, one of the owners came over to me and said, "In the future, we usually want to replace the bowl. If you do not want a new bowl, you have to pay. That is our policy. But this time, we will not charge you." ..... Wait, WHAT? Remember, I had already decided in my own head that I was only going to pay for the sandwich, and this is essentially the only payment she asked for, but I found the "policy" to be very unfair when a customer has just found hair in their food. I told her about my plan to pay for the sandwich anyway, but I said that the policy is definitely bad business, and that a customer may not want to eat more of your food if they think the restaurant has a hygiene problem. We had a bit of a back and forth about this, but again, this was merely on principal. I wasn't angry, but I did want the owner to see how this was unfair to her customers. She didn't really seem to care, and yet that's not where it ended. Another RUDE customer took it upon himself to sternly say, "Excuse me!" to shut us up, to which the owner apologized profusely. The customer turned to the owner and signaled that she didn't need to apologize because he wasn't directing his comment at HER. At this point, I felt like I was in some sort of twilight zone. We all know what a genuine "Excuse Me, please quiet down guys." and a "Shut the **** Up" excuse me sound like. When I told this loser that he was being rude and that he had no right to be upset when HE was not the one with hair in his food being told that next time he'd have to pay, the owner turns to me and says, "Don't talk to my customer like that!" At this point, I had gone from just a bit grossed out to furious. and I told the owner that I would definitely be writing a review, to which she rolled her eyes and walked away. I tipped the waitress because none of this was her fault at all, but I wish I actually had cash to do this. Who knows if she will even get it. I left the stupid sandwich at the counter to send a "HARD FEELINGS! Very hard feelings!" message to the owner. At any rate. If you have a hair mis-hap or God knows what else (which clearly happens so much that they now have a policy about it), you must take another bowl of dirty pho to replace it. Shame on you Just Pho..and more. You got the "and more" part right.

We frequent this place, mostly for take out BC I have babies who aren't made for smaller spaces and its amazing. The owner is super sweet and will come chat at the table she claims her.broth is magic and she is right anytime I start feeling Meh I go get a 32 or 36 my kids love it til. Even my two yo begs for "noodle soup"

I go to this place ALL THE TIME. I consider myself an adventurous eater, but for some reason I almost always get the chicken Pho (pho ga). The ginger dishes and banh mi are also great. Service used to be pretty slow but it's totally fine now!

I've had lots of pho in the past, and I've had eaten in at just pho plenty of times before too, that is until today. I went there today only because yummy pho was closed so I figured I would give just pho a try because it's been so long since I came here. I remembered why I stopped coming. The broth is an insult to the Vietnamese culture and does not do justice. Also the banh mi here was super dry, stale bread, and lacked flavor. On top of that, it took 20 minutes for them to serve us the sandwich, 30 for the pho. I highly recommend pho enthusiasts to drive 5 more minutes to the restaurant yummy pho. The difference is clear. I wasted 14 dollars today I could have eaten at cali and titos instead.

I was looking for some bubble tea and found this place. It was PHENOMENAL! The food was great and so was my drink. The cashier was extra friendly and helped me figure out where the nearest Asian Mart was BC I need my hi chew fix! I will be coming here a lot more now that I know it's location .

This is the Best Lunch I've Had In A Long Time! Seriously. It was that good. We couldn't decide between the chicken pho (#33 --Pho Ga) or the BBQ pork sandwich. "Which to get?" we asked the waiter. "Both," he replied. "Split the two" -- which is just what my husband and I did. (duh) By adding herbs, chili sauce and sprouts, one can concoct a soup with tang. And the sandwich -- perfect as is! Good food, fair prices -- no wonder this place is a hit with the UGA crowd..

I know Athens doesn't have much to compare to but we should expect better. While Just Pho and more does have what the name suggests, it'd be better if they just focused on the basics. While I still don't mind eating here, it's still some very mediocre pho with very, very slim helpings. The owners are nice people but having an understanding of how they run things, I know that it's more about saving money than giving you a decent serving. I always have to ask for extra noodles and meat to even compare to a regular serving at any other pho restaurant in the country. The vegetable plates that come with each bowl isn't really substantial either. Their banh mis are. . . meh. They don't even have one with the standard head cheese. The bread is almost always of poor quality. But like the pho, I wouldn't turn one away if it was in front of me but this is just really mediocre and we as customers should expect better. As I previously stated about the owners, they are nice people but they really need to improve their overall standards. The wife can be way too attentive in mingling with customers. One time the husband out of nowhere started complaining to me about Yummy Pho, the other Pho joint in town. I was just minding my own business trying to have lunch. Look, we can have more than one pho place in Athens! In fact, I recommend it. Hopefully this'll make everyone up their game. Also without fail, everytime I've been there I've received terrible service. One time I came in and sat myself at table, no other customers, and it took 15 minutes for anyone to even take my order. Another time, in the middle of a meal I went to use the restroom, I came back and the server accidentally bussed my table already. People make mistakes, I understand, but when I informed her of it she did that laughing uncomfortably thing that people who have no customer service skills do. Another time I placed a delivery order and upon receiving it I noticed they got the order wrong. I called them to let them know and the response I got was, "So. . . uh. . . . I'm sorry? I don't know what you want me to do. . .?" I think anyone who's ever given this place a good rating most likely has never been to a legit pho restaurant. Yummy Pho might not be 5 stars but in service and ambiance it is the far superior place.

I give the food 2 stars, but the service 1 star. I've seen so much turnover at this restaurant, which wouldn't normally phase me, but the service has really plummeted in recent weeks. My dinner companions got their meals while I waited patiently for my dish to come. After they were all nearly finished,I had to chase my waiter down to ask about my order. He never checked on us after taking our order. He assured me that my meal would be coming right out. After my friends were completely finished and there was frantic whispers amongst the waitstaff, I asked them to just cancel my order so I wouldn't have to have my friends sit and wait for me while I ate alone. What bothered me the most about this situation was that no one apologized or even acknowledged that my order was never put in, and I had to sit and watch my friends eat. I was only told that my food would be coming out shortly, which in actuality meant about 45 minutes later than everyone else's. The pho is mediocre at best and not worth the hassle. I won't be coming back to Just Pho. I'll satisfy my cravings for Vietnamese food at Yummy Pho, or better yet, Buford Highway.

Food is decent. Probably the best considering it's Athens. If you'e i the area, will satisfy a craving, but is not the best pho ever. The broth is a bit off.

I've been dying to try pho and today I finally did. I dragged my mom and brother along to give it a try and they were pretty apprehensive. When we got there, we were greeted promptly and when it was time to order, the owner took the time to make suggestions and explain the items on the menu. This was probably some of the best service that I have EVER received. She was extremely nice and even suggested what size pho that I should order (a small was more than enough) as well as checked in with us to see if we liked everything. Despite feeling a little iffy about the food, my mom and brother throughly enjoyed it. I look forward to going back again in the future, the service alone was enough for me. I'm officially a fan of pho and Just Pho!

I love Just Pho! This place is very Mom & Pop-- my roommate took undergrad Vietnamese classes with the owners' daughter. The owners are super friendly too. They love explaining Vietnamese food to we noobs. The first time I went in the wife told us all about the broth and poured our leftovers into to-go cups for us. Tonight when I ordered a bao first the husband sweetly told us that traditionally it's eaten for breakfast in Vietnam, and when I ordered one to-go (for my breakfast tomorrow) he gave me precise instructions on how to reheat it. I am not a pho expert, but I think it's delicious. I actually prefer the vegan pho, but the bao might be my new favorite! I'm definitely going to try the bahn mi next time I go, but I definitely suggest you top it all off with a mango or avocado boba smoothie. The only downsides are that it's closed Mondays which, according to the Chick-fil-a Principle, is usually the day I want pho most, and they only take credit cards if you order more than $10 worth of food (which isn't usually a problem for me; I hit $12 tonight with the pho, and 1 1/2 bao).

I am obsessed with their vegetarian bánh mì. The toasted Vietnamese-style French bread they use is perfectly crispy, the vegetables are always fresh, and they are fairly liberal with the tofu & wheat protein filling. They will ask if you want the sauce.. which isn't vegan, but if you don't mind that then definitely get it! They also have many other vegetarian options, including a vegetarian pho that is perfect for a colder day. Did I mention how cheap their prices are? The bánh mìs are pretty filling, and at $4.50 a sandwich, you really can't go wrong. Their service is a little spotty if you choose to dine in, but if you order over the phone for takeout, you shouldn't have a problem.

I came here with a group of friends to eat a quick lunch. It's all right. I've had better pho around the Duluth and Atlanta area, but I think their soup base is better than Yummy Pho downtown. The noodles were a bit soggy and stuck together; I'd prefer not to have to separate them. I should be able to pick up the noodles without having to pick up a big clump. The beef flank and brisket was cooked really well; they were sliced just to the right thinness too. One of my friends ordered a rice dish with some kind of bbq beef--it was quite good! It was juicy, and I loved the slightly char grilled taste. Service was okay. Nothing over the top. Plus half a star to my review because the owner (I think?) came out and chatted with us. I'll drop by again when I feel like having pho or Vietnamese food.

Very very good pho! Taro drinks are also awesome! I think it's a little expensive for some of the items, but it's definitely affordable and the menu is huge. This is the best Vietnamese and pho restaurant in Athens hands down.

Just Pho is taking some heat here on Yelp for not being as good as what's available over in Hotlanta. Those critics are correct: Just Pho's namesake product doesn't measure up to the best of what you can get in Atlanta, New Orleans, Houston, San Fran, et al. But it's certainly far from the worst I've had. The broth has been both beefier and more complex than what I've had in some pho joints here and there. The portion of meat was generous enough, although the "rare" beef flank was already cooked through when the bowl got to the table. The goi cuon was a little disappointing, though. No herbs to speak of--just lettuce--and the pork was sliced so paper-thin that you could barely taste it. I like the modest feel of this place and appreciate that it's literally a mom-and-pop joint with very personable service. The weird music on the sound system is kind of a plus, strangely enough. While we were there this last time, we heard an acoustic instrumental version of "Hey Soul Sister" (definitely an improvement over the intolerable original) and disco-fied Vivaldi and some other out-of-left-field instrumental/Muzak-y stuff. Not stuff I'd ever listen to by my own choice, but certainly less annoying than the Top 40 dribble you hear at too many restaurants. Just Pho may not serve the best Vietnamese food, but it's certainly worthy enough that it constitutes an asset to Athens. P.S. I'm not sure the owners realize it, but the restaurant's full name, "Just Pho . . . And More," is an oxymoron. (Or maybe it's an inside joke, and the joke is on me.) UPDATE (3/2012): Went back here for a bowl of pho this week, and found that the kitchen had improved its signature product quite a bit, with a much bolder broth. If they could keep this up, I'd recommend Just Pho without reservations.

Some friends and I came here after a night out, so all we wanted was some pho. They don't open until noon on Sundays, so if your hangover can't wait, keep sleeping until they open, or find somewhere else to take are of your hangover needs. Had we known it was going to take over half an hour to prepare a bowl of noodles and soup, we probably would have gone somewhere else. Aside from all of the waiting, the pho was okay. Given the limited pho options in Athens, I'd say this location is the most convenient in terms of location and parking.

I would come here for the specialty drinks and banh mi sandwiches, nothing more. If I have a desperate pho craving, I'll go a few miles away to Maba Grill instead since I enjoy their broth flavor much better. But if I want banh mi sandwiches, Just Pho and More is the place for that. If you're new to pho, this is a good starting point but certainly better pho out towards Atlanta (cheaper too!). A medium in Athens is a small out in Atlanta and a large in Athens is a medium in Atlanta--you get the point! People who eat pho regularly, this isn't the place for you, although it beats driving a hour away to get the good stuff in Atlanta.. The drinks are a hit or miss depending on whose mixing in the back. I actually used to be in charge of the specialty beverages at a Vietnamese restaurant where I used to work so I'm a little picky about my drinks. I hate tasting the powder if it hasn't been mixed properly or finding ice chunks un-blended. But I usually get more Hits than Misses here for the drinks. The family that owns this place is nice and will remember you if you become a regular. lol Atmosphere depends on the crowd that's eating. Since the restaurant is so small and open, if no one's talking, it gets REALLY awkward. lol And you feel like you sit in close proximity of each table..

Having just moved to the south and being a huge pho fan I was excited to find Jush Pho! We come from Southern Calfornia where amazing pho is never more than 5 minutes away. That being said we did not have overly high expectations and were pleasantly surprised by how lovely our pho was. I always order pho ga (chicken) and the hubs gets a beef version. Both of us found the broth tasty, they bring plenty of sprouts, peppers, and limes. We both would have loved more greenery, but they brought enough to where we weren't disappointed. The only item that was disappointing to us were the spring rolls. We are accustomed to getting lettuce, rice noodle, sweet carrot and daikon with our rolls and at Just Pho, you only get the spring rolls and fish sauce. We did not try any of the smoothies or boba drinks yet, but saw many with them and they look perfectly acceptable. The restaurant is clean and the staff is friendly. Most pho restaurants we have never been brought the check you always go up to the counter when you are ready to pay. this might be why some felt the service was less than attentive.

I went here yesterday with my boyfriend. He ordered banh mi (a Vietnamese sandwich) and I ordered some pho (Vietnamese noodle soup). I'm Vietnamese and have lots of Viet food at home, and thought the food here tasted very authentic and yummy. And their dessert display looks appetizing too, but seemed pretty limited. Owners were very friendly! I frequent this place when I need a pho fix.

Yelp sent me here and I was glad it did! Ordered the fried rolls, wouldn't order them again, as they were a bit greasy. The filling was good though. For my lunch, I had the small bowl of vegetarian pho and it came out promptly. It was not small by any means. The broth was a lighter color then the one Clark had (his pho had several types beef) so it was obvious they were actually serving a vegetarian broth. Tofu was good and firm and nicely presented in the bowl with the thinly sliced onions and delicious noodles. Having only ever eaten pho at home prepared by Betsy, I was unaware you shouldn't sauce the soup. How did I learn that, you may ask. The super nice & preppy grandfatherly man came out from the kitchen to check on us and when he saw I had squirted a bit of sirrachi in the soup, he smiled and looked at me and said he'd be right back with something for me. He went to the kitchen and I thought, UH OH, the Ugly American has done something! I was already eating my noodles with a fork, was he getting training chop sticks?? He came back with a little bowl for me to put my sauce in. You are supposed to dip your food into the bowl, not sauce the bowl. It tastes different that way. He was not ugly about it, he was just teaching me. I felt a little sheepish, but hey, I'm a newb. Their basil was delicious and I'd go back again for more pho and to try a bahn mi. I'll make sure to ask for a bowl for my sauce, too!

Great food, but their take out system is awful! Food is NEVER ready by the time they give you. Plan on waiting another 20-30 min once you arrive. Def dine in if you don't like waiting.

It's no BuHi quality pho but what other choice do we have? Just Pho is the only restaurant in Athens that serves this delicious dish and that being said, it's not bad. The broth definitely lacks the warmth, depth and savory flavors of the better pho restaurants in Atlanta but it's good as it gets for a Vietnamese restaurant in this college town. Real homey atmosphere with paintings by locals, a piano and a friendly owner. Prices are reasonable although it's a little more expensive than Atlanta and the portions are smaller. One thing that really caught my attention was the durian smoothie. I absolutely love the fruit and the smoothie had a good durian flavor. The atrocious stench doesn't permeate through the room but it still leaves that stinky trademark breath after you drink it. Definitely not for dates or group outings afterward. They have a small assortment of pastries from a bakery in Marietta, GA and they also serve wine/beer. Skip that disgusting $5 hot and ready pizza next door and give Just Pho a try next time you're around Baxter Street.

I think this is the only vietnamese restaurant here in Athens. I'm disappointed. Call me picky because I'm vietnamese myself but I've had SO MUCH BETTER. I might be spoiled from the wide variety of vietnamese restaurants found on Buford Hwy, but this place just doesn't cut it for me. It's like $8-$9 for pho. I've had better. The broth tasted like it was LOADED with msg. I like the boba here though. Boba = fruit smoothie with chewy tapioca balls in them. Then again I might like the boba here because it's the only place that sells it here in Athens.

Tonight I asked my man if he wanted to go out to dinner with me. He agreed to go only if we found either a really good place we were already familiar with or a new (to us) place we'd been meaning to go to. I listed a few options, and Just Pho is the one he went for. And oh, am I glad he did. Though I was sad to notice that this restaurant was in the spot of an Italian place we'd tried a couple years back (a place that, presumably, went out of business despite yummy food and a friendly owner), I was immediately cheered to see two of our good friends sitting at a table inside. They'd already ordered dinner, but we joined them all the same and our orders were taken as soon as we'd had time to look at the menu. I got the Pho Tom (pho with shrimp) and loved it. My friend told me that adding just one slice of jalapeno pepper would soon heat up the entire bowl, but I didn't quite believe him. Oh, I should have--within ten minutes of adding a jalapeno slice to my soup, the entire thing was deliciously hot and spicy. Yum. The regular (medium) order was rather large, but I managed to eat all of it. I can only imagine how big the "large" is! Eek. Next time I'll have to try one of the smoothies--avocado sounds yummy and maybe even a bit scary. Great service, too, by the way.

Meh. I've experienced better. Used to be that it was the only Vietnamese place in town, so I was resigned to eating here or traveling the long road to Buford Hwy. I found myself in the car toward Buford Hwy more often than not when I wanted Vietnamese. I can certainly appreciate the bubble teas, but the food just wasn't very flavorful. I'm happy to see Maba Grill open downtown offering a step up in the Vietnamese category in Athens.

I love Just Pho! The food is delicious. I get the pho (a small is big enough for me) or an original banh mi sandwich...both are amazing, plus I love their Thai Iced tea with boba. I'm only giving it four stars because the service can be bad, although I will say the last few times I went there the service seemed to improve a lot... I think they hired a couple of new servers.

Was recommended to this restaurant by a local and was awesome. The place is very clean and very welcoming. Had to opportunity to meet the orders and they seem very family oriented. I ordered the rice paper rolls which tasted fresh. For my main dish, i ordered the largest bowl of combination pho. I would definitely go back. Next time i am in town.

This was a nice, clean little restaurant. The atmosphere was quiet and peaceful. The service was good, the food was GREAT. I don't remember the name of what I ate. It was Pho (obviously) and it had thin noodles (perhaps vermicelli?), lots of meat (I believe it was pork, chicken, and Vietnamese meatballs), and green onions all in a hot and flavorful broth. The waiter was kind and attentive. Our food was brought out in a timely manner. The servings were HUGE. The prices were great with much of the menu being well under $11. When I am in the Athens, GA area I will be sure to visit again! I definitely recommend this place.

One of the only places in Athens to get pho and other Vietnamese dishes. Before this place opened, you would have to drive to Gwinnett and go to Saigon Cafe for pho, so it's a welcome addition. The food is very good considering that it is in Athens. Of course, it still pales in comparison to Atlanta Vietnamese restaurants..Everything is made fresh and I always consistently have a great meal every time I go. Service is nice and friendly since it's family owned. The only complaint I have is the price versus portion factor. It is definitely a lot more expensive at Just Pho compared to Saigon Cafe in Atlanta. Also, the portions are a lot smaller for the sizes in comparison. I understand it's the price of having pho in Athens versus having to drive to Atlanta to get it, but if they are charging $10+ for a large bowl, I want it to be at least the same size or bigger compared to Saigon Cafe (meat, noodles, and broth). Also, they could add some background music. It is always awkwardly silent there. You can almost hear the slurping of soup from other people. LOL. That's my only complaint, and if it wasn't for that I would give it 5 Stars. I also am factoring "Athens" as part of my rating. But all in all, the food is consistent and if you are a first timer, you need to try the spring and summer rolls(especially the bbq pork summer roll) and the bahn mi sandwiches along with the pho.

I finally tried an avocado smoothie, and you know what: I loved it. I'm fairly unfamiliar with Vietnamese food, so I'm glad I tried this place. I believe my meal was called Pho Tom. It contained shrimp and vegetables in the broth. The shrimp were cut in half longitudinally, so their presence was only subtle. I probably would have liked it better had the shrimp been more substantial, but overall I enjoyed the meal. I was especially impressed by the server's patience as I butchered the name of the restaurant and its food. I'm glad they have the correct pronunciation of "pho" printed on the backs of their shirts. I'll definitely need some practice!

I was visiting my family in the Athens area and my sister had a coupon for Just Pho. My parents and I had never tried pho and were a little apprehensive, but as it turned out, we didn't need to be. The restaurant was empty when we arrived (5pm on Sunday) with just one server working. She was extremely friendly and provided good service. The egg rolls were delicious, with a great pork flavor. Two of us had the shrimp pho, one had chicken and one had rare beef. All of them were delicious, and the portions were massive! (We each ordered small and I only managed to eat half of my soup.) My dad also ordered the vietnamese coffee, which was great and really different. I am excited to have pho again soon and I am glad I had such a great first experience at Just Pho.

Good pho but terribly service. I just left and it was ridiculous. The service has been always below par (the owners keep the tips) but I would overlook it because the food was so good. I think my mind has been tipped the other way. I don't think i'll be going back. I had to ask for cutlery, napkins, condiments, my veggie plate, everything. Never did get a water refill and I had to go to the front counter for everything. Probably got out of my seat 5 times to ask for things. The owner rolled his eyes when I asked for 2 to go boxes, one for my pho and one for my spring roll. Think I'll be going to Yummy Pho for now until they fix this.

Nice clean, friendly storefront restaurant serving a dozen or so different Pho dishes along with a few appetizers and three or four bun dishes. I started with the Goi Cuon appetizer which was fresh and tasty. For dinner I had one of the specials, Bun Thit Nuong. this is a rice noodle dish with barbecue pork. It was very good. The meat had a wonderful flavor and the rest, noodles, veg, sauce, combined for a great meal. I would definitely recommend this place and will return soon.

Very nice Mom & Pop Pho restaurant. The service was fast and friendly, and the owner and his wife both checked in on us to make sure we were doing well and enjoyed our meal. Will definitely go back when we are in Athens and looking for pho!

The pho I ordered was a delicious, enormous bowl brimming with more kinds of meat than I bothered to identify. My friend ordered a curry dish that was rather bland, and after tasting mine, she immediately wished she ordered pho too. The smoothies we got were delicious (mango & green tea), though I'm not personally a fan of those tapioca balls that get stuck in your straw. The real star-detracting factor for me was the insanely slow service. The restaurant was maybe half full and I only saw our one waitress, but there is no way our dinner should have taken an hour and a half.

As a recent transplant to the Athens area, I've been working my way down the list of restaurants. I found JP to be an extremely pleasant meal, with a variety of good choices for those that enjoy pho itself and excellent alternative meals like the bahn mi, which at the moment is the best sandwich I've had in the area yet (the chicken, for anyone keeping up). The egg rolls were good, but had we known that the talk of small portion sizes was pure fiction, likely brought on by a few too many trips to the Golden Corral, we would have skipped to the generous pho bowl (small!) and the roughly half-baguette sized sandwich. If there's something to hold against is that on a busy Sunday afternoon the one full waitress and the gentleman who'd come in to pinch hit on occasion were clearly outnumbered by the full tables, and you should expect to wait and get your orders at a steady trickle. Extremely reasonably priced, though, so I can't complain too much, and in the end it's probably one of those things that only stands out because everything else was such a pleasant surprise. As a quick addendum, they do have take-out and delivery, which might end up being the primary way I end up enjoying their food.

I had had this restaurant a few years back and I had not been very good. I've since then returned a couple times and can honestly say that the restaurant has gotten so much better. The pho was delicious and probably the best pho you're likely to get here in Athens. The management was also very friendly. The only complaint that I have is that they are closed on Mondays.

I like good pho- and I was surprised that Athens had a decent pho joint. Fresh ingredients, adventurous to "normal" carnage, and helpful, upbeat staff made my visit a good one. As I understand it, the owners opened the restaurant so that their daughter would have good food to eat while in college. Now that rang a bell somewhere in my heart.

Came to see a friend in Athens and he took me to Just Pho for some recoup soup. Since it's the only place in area for it I figured it would be different from places with competition like on buford. Im happy to say I was right! I've had pho since I was a kid and aside from homemade I've always reacted to the MSG I know they have to put in the broth-EXCEPT here. I wouldn't go as far as to say they don't use it because I don't know but Im pretty certain there's way less than everywhere else ive been. I was surprised that they had as many nonPho options as they did for the only Vietnamese restaurant in town. Didn't try them but the surrounding tables had colorful rice plates and vermicelli bowls that looked and smelled really good. Finally I have to say that the boba here is really good. Most pho restaurants have that gross crazy bubble tea brand drinks but the cute girl at the register told me they have their own recipes which makes a lot of sense. I'd definitely come back just for the boba even if they didn't have pho next time Im in Athens.

A fantastic little find others may miss. I have a friend who's wife is Vietnamese. They have been talking to me about Pho. I am admittedly new to Vietnamese food, but it was a wonderful experience. The owner is a extremely friendly man who helped us choose. He also gave us some guidance on what to expect and suggested many different things. We started with appetizers. We had Vietnamese egg roll with fish sauce and the Vietnamese spring roll with peanut sauce. Both were very tasty. For dinner since we were starving we decided to get both sandwiches and Pho. The sandwiches were wonderful. Crispy bread and spot on sauces. The Pho came to the table. The small is actually quite large. We ended up taking some home. We both really enjoyed our pho. My friend had told me in advance to season to our liking with the bean sprouts, Cilantro, Jalapenos, Lime and mint they leave at the table. Which we did and enjoyed immensely. We also tried on his recommendation the Avocado smoothie (Boba) with tapioca balls at the bottom. We were very surprised at how good it was. The real treat here is the combination of great food with and owner who talks to the customers and is great to interact with. This is a family run business and they really appreciate their customers. The location may cause some to miss the place, but hopefully word of mouth will bring this nice couple lots of business. so I can continue to go there and eat the food. It is very reasonable to. The prices are very inexpensive for such good food.

The stars say it all: I've experienced better, every single place I've ever eaten Vietnamese food was better, much better. The Banh Mi are sorta sad, and the pho is pretty good but not great. The little spring rolls were smelly and awful. Full disclosure: Vietnamese food is my favorite, probably, as I ate it regularly in my time in the big city. I wish dearly that Just Pho was good-to-great, but it ain't.

I've eaten a lot of pho in my life, moving to this area from the Washington D.C. area. I've also eaten at Just Pho a few times and have never been pleased with my food or service. In short: The pho broth is bland and their meatballs have small bits of cartilage in them, the meat must not be very good quality. Their bun vermicelli bowls are only okay and they don't trust their customers tastes. I asked for fish sauce with my bowl and was basically told that I know nothing of Vietnamese food and that the dish was brought to me just as it should be eaten. Huh? Their lemongrass beef rolls are probably the only good thing on the menu, though the abnormally long wait for your food makes it hardly worth it. Yes, the wait. To have the highest prices in town for Vietnamese and to have your customers always wait at least 30-45 for anything from the kitchen - appetizer/entree, doesn't matter, you will be waiting a long time for your food - is just ridiculous. The last time I ate there, my appetizer came out at the same time as my food, which was 45 minutes after I placed my order. The owners are actually pretty nice, though I've only gotten a rude reception from the wait staff. I don't go to this restaurant anymore and wouldn't recommend it to anyone else. If you want decent pho, just go to Yummy Pho downtown. Their pho broth is way better than anything you'll get at Just Pho. You can also go to Atlanta.

We took a trip to Athens from Lawrenceville to go shopping. We decided to find a Pho restaurant in the area since it was a soupy kind of day. Keep in mind our review is based on our normal place we go to in Duluth, I Luv Pho. Also I am full blood Vietnamese and have eat Pho my whole life. The service was a little slow. We sat down and it took about 5 minutes for someone to come take our order. It seems as if they are short staffed. The price was a bit on the higher side then the normal. I ordered Com Ga Kho Gung(rice plate with chicken and ginger). My fiancé ordered the Pho Tai(rice noodles and rare steak). The veggie plate to compliment the pho is usually brought out first. It usually consists of bean sprouts, basil, cilantro, limes and jalapeños. The plate we were givens had some old bean sprouts mixed with new, two pieces of cilantro, limes and jalapeños. We got our food and my rice plate portion was small for a $12 plate. I got a couple pieces of chicken on my portion. Also they do not offer complimentary bowl of soup that majority of pho places offer with the rice plates. The flavoring on the ginger chicken was decent. As far as the pho the soup flavoring was very bland like plain hot water!

Fantastic place for a bowl of pho or incredible bahn mi. My wife and I both enjoy the pho ga with rich broth, and a generous portion of chicken. Hot sweet coffee after a meal is also a treat

Best Vietnamese restaurant in Athens! The pho is delicious! The broth is fresh. The owner makes it fresh everyday from scratch cooking the beef creating the broth for the pho from 5 am every morning. Truly recommend this place if you are looking for some good pho or missing good authentic Vietnamese cuisines while in Athens. Food and service is great! They also serve other Vietnamese food too besides pho; such as banh mi, spring rolls, egg rolls, etc. and make sure you get some of the Vietnamese ice coffee and the smoothies as well.
