Great fresh food. Great for families. We visited when the Dawgs had an away game so there wasn't a crowd and the food was ready quickly. We will definitely be back!

So gross I wish I could give it zero stars. I hesitate to write this review because I wish I could completely forget my meal here. In a town full of amazing Mexican food, there is no excuse to ever even think of going here! If you're looking for tacos, try Señor Sol, Tlaloc Mexicana, heck even the Taco Stand is better! Don't go here.

This was my second time at Fuzzy's. Last time I was here they had only been opened a month and the food was so salty and unappealing that it has taken over a year for me to return. Honestly I partly returned because I wanted the Internet while enjoying my lunch. I had noticed a few weeks ago the free wifi sign on the door. This is a lie. The cashier said they do not five out the password I pointed to the door and she said she would check but never returned. There is a wifi link but it does not work. I ordered the brisket sandwich. The bread is sort of the same buttery toasted bread served at sonic but in a different shape. The meat was of okay quality and decent portion, but nothing I'd return for or ever crave. The potatoes served with the sandwich were okay, but pretty salty. I might try it again but only if encouraged by someone else to return.

You know, it's pretty hard to get a 1 star. You literally have to have done NOTHING in order to get that low and guess what, that's what happened. I get this is a college town and it's a college bar, but does that really excuse you from having decent service? Came here for lunch on a Wednesday around 4pm, friend and I were the ONLY one in the eating area minus three dudes in the back bar. I'm sure one or two of them actually worked here. So my deal with this place? Remember that my friend and I are the only dining customers in this place. Ordered 4 tacos: 2 shredded beef, crawfish, and a shredded chicken. I don't know how this normally works, but I assumed that they were call out your number or deliver it to your table. But judging from the set up, it seems that they call out your number over the mic and you come and get it. Simple enough. Well, whoever worked there never called out my number. I saw a tray on the counter but didn't assume it was mine. So finally, I went to check, sure enough, it was my order. Completely cold at this point. Couldn't find that guy at this point. Ending of the story, had 4 cold tacos that were disgusting. Never again.

Fuzzy is a great place to go to in a college town like Athens. Fuzzy is not a place you go to if you are looking for great food. Nothing is going to wow you. Believe me! The service is always fast and the food comes out quickly. You order your food and wait for it to come out. I have been here several times, especially after exams! The main reason I come here for those Magaritas!! They are delicious. You can get them frozen, on the rocks, and with so many different flavors. I prefer on the rocks with the traditional margarita flavor. It is also like $6 and comes in a huge glass. I like to get at least one or two in my system before I am out of here. The only thing I dislike is the parking in downtown. Luckily, the parking meter takes cards because I never have change. Overall, great place to drink and just relax.

I can't believe how long it took to get chips and queso along with one crawfish taco. When my number was called I went to pick up my order and it wasn't even complete. Had to wait even longer. The taco was a flavorless disaster. The chips were extremely salty and the queso was supposed to have chorizo in it but had ground beef in it. Total disappointment. First and last time this place gets my money!

When you visit on gameday it's important to lower expectations as this place was mobbed at lunch. Meanwhile, the staff worked hard to keep the line moving and food flowing to tables. Even as busy as it was orders came up quickly and the food wasn't bad. For those of you from outside Athens, this is a chain. They are scattered across the country and the food is average, at best, but for the cost, you can't complain. The spicy pork burrito I had for lunch was fine. The pork was tasty. My cousin had a two-taco shrimp plate with refried beans and the Latin potatoes and was satisfied, but no thrilled either. The potatoes had far too much seasoning, but that's what happens when you have college kids working and a huge crowd. Nothing on the menu at Fuzzy's is going to wow you. On the other hand, nothing is terrible either. This is a place to eat at when you don't want to spend a lot money and don't have a lot of time. Or, if you want to go out and have drinks (there's a full bar here), watch games and munch of chips, salsa (which is very average here) and guacamole. It's a laid back place where you can be in and out in 10 minutes or spend a few hours.

To commemorate National Margarita Day -- never knew there was such a day, but I'm not complaining -- Fuzzy's offered $2 margaritas. And damn, they were good! Loaded my daughter and some of her friends in the back of the truck and headed over for margaritas and chicken cheese nachos. On a warm day, the outdoor patio is great for people-watching. Don't expect a gourmet meal. Don't even expect a server to come to your table. (They call out your number for counter pick-up.) Fuzzy's is what it is... and it works! It's cheap, casual and perfect for the college town it's in.

I came in around 11:45 on a Friday night thinking they would be open till 2 am because that's clearly what it says on the posted hours outside their door to have some margaritas and tacos because hey! It's Friday and I want tacos and margaritas. HOWEVER! As I'm ordering my food, I hear the bartender make a last call for drinks at 11:45! So my boyfriend asked the cashier why they were doing last call at that time if they're open till 2. She proceeded to say "we're only open till that time if we're really busy." Ok? What kind of business is that. Not only that but my friend also went to get a margarita as they closed the bar and asked the same question to the bartender and the bartenders response was "the staff doesn't like to stay late." So hire people that are willing to stay late and don't post false hours. Oh, I'm not finished there. We got our tacos and they were COLD! Like out of the refrigerator COLD! The tortilla was not heated AT ALL! My boyfriend was not satisfied at all so he went to ask for a refund and as he was asking for his refund a group of about 18 people walked in ready to order and they got turned away "because the kitchen JUST closed." It all comes down to laziness!! I remember coming here and bragging about how good this place was but everything has just gone downhill. I will say they have really good margaritas. But that's about it.

Poor customer service with no corrective action offered after I brought the mistake to an employee's attention. Will not go back, which is sad because the food was decent and I'd like to have sampled the rest of the menu. There are plenty of other taco/mexican joints in ATH, though.

If I could give zero stars I would. It took 30+ minutes to get three tacos and a burrito when there was one table in the restaurant. Additionally, they didn't even get the order correct. When I called to speak with a manager he apologized half heartedly and didn't offer any sort of compensation for the obscenely long wait for food. The front of the house staff was lovely. Also, it looked like one of the floor guys was chewing tobacco. On the floor. Moral of the story, never going to fuzzys again, ever. Also telling everyone I know to never go.

Good grilled fish tacos. The grilled shrimp tacos were great - lots of cilantro. The black beans were good. They told me they were vegetarian, but they tasted like they had meat in them, so I'm not sure. The cilantro rice was tasty, too. The potatoes were okay. They would have been better with ketchup, but there wasn't any available when I was there. Ask for some when you place your order.

Nice atmosphere. Good service. Ordered 5 different baja tacos in the soft shell. grilled fish, grilled shrimp, grilled veggie, grilled chicken, one other. The best was the grilled fish. They were all O.K. But, not even in the same league as Sr. Sol's tacos. I loved the flavor of the salsa and the chips were very good with a light texture. I'll go back for the chips and salsa for sure.

I took a friend for her first time and she ordered something without one of the normal ingredients. They missed and put it in anyway. Ok, that happens. BUT.......when I went up and politely asked them to redo the order without said ingredient they about jumped down my throat. Great way to make a first impression on someone, guys. The tacos and burritos are the AWESOME!! The Shredded spicy pork is fucking orgasmic! And the staff and ESPECIALLY the Owners and Bar staff are the greatest as far as how they take care of people. The atmosphere, staff, and alcohol specials are what make this place one of the greatest taco place in Athens, GA. Its hard to find this great combo every where. And they always appreciate their repeat and return customers and treat them like family!

Not a bad place to get a taco. Taco Tuesday would be the best time to go. Two tacos and a beer for 6 bucks. They have a full bar and do trivia. I wouldn't call it authentic mexican food, but it's where I would go on a Tuesday.

The food was pretty good, but they switched up out groups orders. It gets really crowded which I think some people like, but I don't know if its worth the wait during a lunch rush.

This is pretty poor Mexican food. Salsa is tasteless. The burrito was cold and the shredded chicken did not taste nice. We also had a taco which was sloppily put together and was bland. Generally poor all round. Wouldn't go here again.

Maybe not really 5 stars but they gave me free food - soft opening - so I will give them the nod. I got fish tacos and shrimp tacos and enjoyed both. Reasonably priced and generous portions. Good frozen marg and not weak in liquor. Cool interior at a good location. This place is littered with huge flat screens. About a dozen in total inside and outside. Open space with a main eating area, a bar area, and a big patio. I'll be coming back.

While not exactly gourmet Mexican, Fuzzy's has some solid chips, salsa, and guacamole. The tacos are tasty, although somewhat lacking in the amount of meat. Solid drink selection and specials. Good place to watch a game.

For a college town, this is a great spot with tons of huge TVs- most notably the giant 72" one next to the bar. There's also a patio to hang out and long tables for big parties. So I'd say the atmosphere in itself will draw me in for a drink or two with friends. The service is also great because it's self-serve but workers will still offer to help clear tables or bring food to you. As for the food, I've only tried the baja tacos and the salsa and queso. The queso is overly thick and not what you'd expect from a typical Mexican restaurant. The salsa can be served warm or cold (surprisingly, I preferred warm). The chips can be a bit overseasoned at times. The tacos were all great! I enjoyed the different meats and seafood offerings. Their use of feta cheese makes it pretty unique. The specials are definitely what keeps me coming back! Tuesdays for $5, you get 2 tacos and an 18oz. Dos Equis draft beer! Then Wednesdays is $2 house margaritas all night. There's also other drink specials and deals during the week, but needless to say, I'm here almost every Tuesday or Wednesday.

If you like traditional Mexican, then do not go to Fuzzy's. I have never cared for anything I have eaten there because of the strange, non-traditional ingredients (feta on tacos? Queso made of mostly cheddar cheese? No..) and the prices. However, I will go here just to drink. They have tons of large girly drinks like margaritas and sangria that are delicious. The atmosphere is fun and the outside area is great. Not to mention the ideal location downtown. Come here to pregame, not to eat.

I visited this place for the first time last night with a group of friends. It's a convenient location on Washington Street and a good place to go with a group of friends. All the televisions were a little distracting, but I am sure it's a good place to be when there's a game I want to watch. The food is served cafeteria style. You order and pay at the counter, and then you wait for your number to be called to get your food. I saw a lot of goblet-style glasses filled with beer and margaritas, but I settled for a standard fountain drink, which is self-serve. The place can get a little loud, so it's better to wait by the kitchen; otherwise, you'll miss hearing your number... like me. I ordered a tempura fish soft flour taco and a shredded pork crunchy taco - each was $1.99 The feta cheese is a different, but not unpleasant. The shredded pork one was better than the tempura fish. I noticed huevos rancheros on the brunch menu, which I am interested in trying. Someone at my table ordered the chips and salsa. They were surprisingly tasty. The chips tasted like they were freshly fried and the salsa was warm, like it was just roasted. All in all, Fuzzy's is nothing to rave about in terms of Mexican food, but it seems like a pretty solid hang out.

We went here to watch the SEC championship. This has been one if my favorite places to watch the game. Drafts for a $1 and cheap food. I had a quesadilla and chips that were just alright but the margaritas were great. Can't beat the atmosphere. Make sure you get there early. I look forward to going again.

Good location in the downtown! I'm gonna go with 4 stars for the new Fuzzy Taco, based on the quality of ingredients. I'm not a fan of white sauce ("feta & garlic sauce" at Fuzzy's), so I ordered the Baja tacos w/ no sauce: 1 Regular Grilled Chicken and 1 Shredded Pork. I didn't see where to find salsa, but that was OK. I found some hot sauce on the table which I sampled carefully. : ) The shredded pork was really excellent, nicely marinated, as was the chicken. I'll definitely be back to try a "Mexican Dinner" combo plate.

Don't come here for the food -- come here to hang out. I've eaten here multiple times, usually burritos and chips, but I really come because it has a great, laid-back atmosphere. It has a patio with couches and inside is a bar with spacious tables. It's just a great place to have a big group of friends and talk. The food is alright. The burritos are sometimes a little too gloppy for my taste and could use some tweaking on the spices. But the atmosphere is the real draw.

Matt J.
You are taking your chances eating here. I've had really good food and completely awful food. They appear to be pan scoopers here so it all depends on if you are catching a fresh one or the crap scraped off the bottom. The atmosphere is a little too stereotypical college and frat-tastic for that end of Washington St., but whatever. If you don't doddle you can get free parking as it is right next to the parking garage and if you get in and out in under 30 minutes there is no charge. I want to go back and drink margaritas, they appear to have big ones with a variety of flavors.

While a good atmosphere always get a receipt from their down the stairs bar. If you aren't carefully they will forget they billed you and charge you double.
(1)
Lauren A.
The atmosphere is pretty perfect for a college town. They have booths, bar seating, and long picnic tables for big groups. You order at the counter and go pick up your food when your number is called. I got a shredded chicken sandwich, which I didn't like that much. My friend got a fish taco, which she enjoyed more. The chips and salsa were pretty good, but I think they put too much seasoning on the chips. Update: I went here again last night, and got a hard and soft chicken taco. I enjoyed these way more than my order the first time. We all split chips and salsa and queso dip. The queso was delish and our salsa was hot (food temperature, like it just got out of the oven, kinda strange!)

If I could give this place negative stars, I would. (1) Even though the restaurant was empty and I saw at least 3 employees behind the counter, most of the tabletops were dirty. (2) We used a Groupon (which was why we tried it in the first place) and they range it up wrong. (3) The grilled vegetable burrito was all iceberg lettuce with 20 or fewer black beans in total. I actually went up to the counter to ask where were the grilled vegetables. The guy behind the counter pointed to the 2 tiny schnibbles of zucchini. (4) My husband thought the nachos were disgusting and the same with his spicy pork burrito. Stay away. Clearly this is meant to be food for after bars close, but $7 for essentially lettuce burritos with a ton of sauce means it'll be closing soon.

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Dez nachos r da shit. Tacos are prtty good too. Pretty decent pricing, about 7 dollars for a meal.

Quick and satisfying. Fish taco was good. Chicken burrito good and salad custom made. Salsa good. Not super fancy

Great, relaxed atmosphere. Get the guacamole and a frozen margarita. Pulled pork taco and sandwich are awesome.
