It has been few years since I have been to this place but I am new to Yelp. And this place is that good that I remember it. I had my first taste of Bison here and it was fantastic. Great place to meet friends for a little social hour or dinner. The eats are far from typical bar food and they always have a variety on tap. You will not be disappointed if you go here when you find yourself in Athens.

Came here on a late Friday afternoon to get some beers and dinner and wasn't disappointed. This place brews their own beer and they offer four different types of their home brewed beer on tap. I had an American Pale Ale that was excellent. I would have liked a little more choice in draft beers, but appreciated the high quality of what I was offered. I was looking for the espresso stout that others recommend here, but when I went in May it was not on their list. You can't beat the $3 price for their draft beers. The best part of my experience was the excellent service from a very friendly and attentive bartender. She made you feel comfortable and right at home even though I had never been here before. There were no problems in getting orders taken or drinks refilled when I needed them. I had their kettle chips to start, which seemed home made and were a good salty companion to the beers. For dinner I tried their bison burger, which was a nice alternative to a beef burger and was fairly tasty but a little plain. It came with a choice of cheeses, and I chose Gouda. They had a nice cheese selection for the burgers. The best part, though, was the excellent wilted spinach that I tried as a healthier alternative to fries. I recommend that side dish highly--you'll like it even if you are not a spinach fan. The portion was a little on the small side.

The food was pretty good! My husband enjoyed their beer selection as well. It's a charming little downtown bar/restaurant. I liked the feel and how they were able to separate the bar from the dining tables area in the typical long and narrow downtown bar type place. I had the turkey sandwich, which was good, but they also had sweet potato fries which always get a thumbs up from me!
(4)Chris L.
Meh. Beer is very good. Food, service, and atmosphere...not so much. Gross tables and interior...nothing modern about it. Boring bar food with skinny frozen French fries. Awkward servers too.
(3)Steve M.
Excellent beer, food and service! Best grilled cheese sandwich I have had in a long time.
(4)Mark H.
This place is wonderful. A friend recommended it to me when I was staying in town, and it was the perfect brewpub. A little 'grungy', as someone else said, copper vats, and excellent excellent in-house brewed pints (when I was there it was a pumpkin ale, a belgian blonde, an IPA and a Milk Stout). I tried them all, and at $3 a pint, you feel like you're getting way more than you pay for. Hip young college-student atmosphere. The hamburger left much to be desired (boring, soft bun, light meat that could have been turkey for all I know), but in retrospect it made absolutely no difference at all. I'd love to go back sometime, and I'm not even a beer person.

This is my favorite place to grab a beer in Athens. I'm not into the crazy loud places where you can't even talk to the people you're with, so Copper Creek is perfect. It's rarely extremely busy and I've always been able to get a spot right at the bar, even on the weekends. As you probably inferred from the name, they brew their own beer. I've tried a bunch of them and they've all been good, though I prefer the lighter beers to their stouts. $3 for a home-brewed beer on draught is a great deal if you ask me. You'd be lucky to get a bottled Bud Light for that price at most other places downtown. I've only eaten here once, but the burger and fries I had were decent. Nothing to write home about. But like I said, I come here for the beer and the atmosphere, so the food quality isn't too important to me. The bartenders are always friendly. Oh, if Ort happens to be there, you should talk to him. He's easy to spot: he'll be at the bar with a notebook downing beers. He's a pretty famous Athens local and he's got great stories!
(4)Jerry T.
Copper creek is nice because you can get away from the noise and craziness of Downtown. Don't get me wrong, I love the craziness that is DT Athens. I just need a break sometimes to catch a beer and regroup. Copper creek is that place for me. The food is good for the area. For the most part it's slightly more refined bar/pub food. I would recommend the bison burger and sweet potato fries. It will set you back about ten bucks at dinner. The ambiance is pretty nice. A lot of dark wood and dim lighting, which I always like. The house beers sell for around three bucks and are fairly respectable. They won't blow your socks off, but they are better than most other beers at that price point. They also have a decent whiskey list for Athens. I will be back.
(4)Madeline S.
We came here to try the beer, but please save yourself the trouble. The creme ale was the worst beer I've ever had. I couldn't even finish it.
(1)Matthew L.
Food is forgettable. I gave it the stars for the beer--some of the best (and only) microbrew in town. I spent many a Tuesday night here in college (twofer pints). Surprised I was never kicked out giving the drinking that was going on! I've met the brewer at many a Classic City Brewfest and have always been impressed. I learned to appreciate beer while in college--not just by drinking it in mass quantity but by taking an actual class on its history. This place is a must for any beer head.
(4)Dave F.
This review does not reflect the food, only the house beer. Price: 3 dollars for 4 tasters ( looked like 3-4 oz tasters) Pros: The beer isn't bad...it's just not that great. Great atmosphere and very friendly bartenders. Full bar. Cons: The belgian was bland and uninteresting. The lager/ale hybrid was interesting at first but lacked a full body and flavor...it just felt like something was missing. The India brown ale was nice at first sip, but grew harsher the longer you drank it. The milk stout was pretty good, but i've had better...it was a bit too bitter for a stout. Bottom line: Go to Terrapin for a great local microbrew, or Trappeze for great (and sometimes not so great) imported brews.
(2)Russ G.
Hell yes. We hit this place after drinking beers at the hotel and going to Terrapin for the tour, so although we were eager to try their brews we were also really hungry. This place did not disappoint. It's big inside, dimly lit but friendly, and plenty of room for large parties. I got the sampler and enjoyed all the beers, and a few of others of my friends too, but the food was the highlight here. We got four different appetizers to try, fried okra (I hate okra but actually liked this), shrimp pesto pita pizza (YUM!), hummus plate (very good hummus), and mozzarella sticks that were absolutely damn amazing. Holy shit they were good. We each got different entrees and passed bites around, I got a burger which was awesome and a side of saffron rice that made me a little stiff in the pants, I tried mashed potatoes form another plate, a pan seared scallop (it was the special) and some bacon from another burger, all of it was delicious. Superb hit on the food, and solid hit on the beers. I can't wait to go back to Athens and eat here again.
(5)Jessica P.
Copper Creek is a microbrewery, and the beer is great (ask for a sampler to try them all), but I go there for the food. On Thursday nights only, they have the best wings in town. On every other night, they have consistently delicious food. Surprisingly delicious for it's casual pub atmosphere. I recommend Copper Creek, especially to those who haven't eaten there. I don't think I've ever had a bad meal here, and I've lived in Athens for a while.

Been here for lunch once and trivia a few times. The food is average. The house beers are decent for the price. Trivia on Wednesdays is always chaotic and crowded. My friends and I got two tables across from each other to try to be closer together, as there's only one big table that seats more than 4 people. My friends at the opposite table got up to smoke a cigarette and the hostess immediately seated another group at their table. I went up to speak to her and she rudely told me that they can't get up to order drinks at the bar and that they can only order them at the table. When I explained that wasn't what they were doing, she didn't seem to believe me. She wouldn't let them have their table back, but she would put them at the top of the list for the next table. Luckily the new group was nice enough to trade tables when one finally opened up. The waitress and hostess were incredibly rude to our group the rest of the time we were there. Haven't been back to trivia since.

This restaurant is a truly exceptional specimen of the top tier level of service and ambiance that Athens, GA has to offer. With friendly staff, affordable but incredible tasting food, and craft beer that can't be beat Copper is the number one place to call the local watering hole. With a few years of service industry experience under my belt I can honestly say the servers there are personable and have no problem providing any assistance you may ask for. I came in to copper creek after my graduation with many family members and our server was attentive to the difficult dietary needs of my grandparents and made us feel more than welcome. The beer there is always diverse enough to fit the taste preferences of any customer. Some of my girlfriends aren't big beer drinkers and even though I prefer craft beer my entire group has never had a problem finding a drink option that is a good fit for them. As far as the food goes, I have had the fried chicken, steak burger, and brewers salad and have always left happy. Overall this is a place where I feel I can always go looking for a good beer and yummy food in my tummy for a reasonable price.
(5)Chris D.
Quality service and solid food. Would definitely go back if I visit Athens in the future.
(4)Brad B.
Stayed in Athens during a work trip to Monroe, GA and stopped by Copper Creek Brewing Co. for dinner. This is the only brewpub in the area aside from the tours available at Terrapin Brewing Co. I started the evening with their Espresso Stout which falls into the cream stout category. This beer had that a great coffee flavor due to the 6 different coffee beans used in the recipe. Followed this up with their pale ale which some would consider an IPA on the lighter side more so than the pale style. The Festivus Ale is an odd take on a scottsh ale, oak aged and spiced with a great brown sugar backing. For dinner I ordered the Bison burger and was impressed by the quality of the food. I highly recommend a visit to Copper Creek Brewing Co if you are in the Athens area.

I don't know whether to give 5 stars, or 1. What a mixed review. Let's start with the good. The beers were very well crafted and wonderfully priced. I had a Saison that had a great body and a delicious like Belgian spice characteristic of a good Saison, which is tough to find sometimes. I then had an IPA that was equally good, not a lot of bitterness but a lot of great hop flavor and aroma. The food was also pretty good, just a burger and sweet potatoe fries. But the burger was well seasoned and the fries were tasty as any. Now the bad, which unfortunately overshadows the good. Our service was terrible, being young and an ex-server good service means a lot to me. Our waitress was rude, had no knowledge of the beer, and it took me 20 minutes after finishing my first beer to order my second, and that's because I flagged down another waitress. Whatever, I understand I guess. The worst part of our experience didn't occur until we got home. My girlfriend and I both ordered burgers and fries, and ate nothing else all night. We both had food poisoning pretty bad, which ruined our night. I won't get into the details. We contacted the manager, just to let them know. If I was a manager I wouldn't want to be dishing out bacterial toxins in people's food ya know? Well we were told it was something else we had eaten, not their food, treated rudely throughout the whole experience, and then hung up on. Ironically when food scores came out they were given an 80 or something with the only complaint improper meat storage. It's a place I really really wanted to like, because I love craft beer and want to support a local business like that, I know the owners love their business. I've ran into them at the local homebrew store. But with an experience like that it's so hard to go back. Just go a half mile down the street to trapeze if you want good craft beer, great food, and great service.
(2)William G.
They have great specials on various days of the week. It is also a little farther away from the DT area so not many people crowd the place up. Great place to hang out and have a pint or do a few shots.

I scooted into Copper Creek last night during the Twilight bike race, seeking shelter from the steady rain. Once I realized the bartender had served several people who arrived well after me, I leaned forward, trying to make myself noticeable, even making eye contact with the bartender, but he still ignored me. Someone who appeared to be his friend ended up having to encourage him to serve me. I was ordering libations for my boyfriend, sister and myself and started with my beau's brew request. "I'll have a Yuengling, please, and--" "We don't have Yuengling," he cut me off. I turned around to ask my beau what he wanted instead, and the bartender moved on to another patron, causing me to wait even longer. "Well how about a Coors Light?" I asked. "We don't SERVE shitty beer here," he barked. "Fine, a Blue Moon," I sighed, eyeing one on the shelf. "And what can you do with Chambord?" "I don't drink that," he frowned. "You know, like a Kir Royale," I attempted to explain, looking at the bottle of Chambord right behind him. "I don't know what the hell that is," he hatefully replied, moobs jiggling. "Well, you're an asshole, so we're going to leave," I decided, absorbing his shocked reaction before sliding off my stool. And I'll never go back, per the rude, unhelpful, ignorant service.

My husband and I are beer snobs, and the brews at Copper Creek get a solid A - from me. The food, however, gets a big A +... we've never had anything that wasn't just amazing, and, in some cases, it's getting even better. We typically go on twofer Tuesdays, because we're cheap. We'll bring our young daughters, which is never a problem. They have big tvs on each side, and the noise level is just high enough that if the kids throw a fit, it will blend right in. The service is usually pretty good... friendly people, getting the orders right and keeping your glass full. The food comes out fast and hot. Sometimes it takes a bit to get a seat, especially on promotion nights. If you go, try the rice and beans, seriously. My other fave is the bison burger with sweet potato fries. YES.
(4)Phin S.
This is a really nice bar. Relatively cheap, pretty good food (which is a pleasant surprise), a relatively friendly staff. The best thing is the beer. Definitely get the beer sampler, they give you 4 ounces of their 4 microbrews. Delicious.

Went here once for a few beers and my boyfriend and I decided to go again recently for dinner and beers again. The experience was the absolute worst dining experience either of us have ever had in our lives. I serve at a fine dining restaurant, and have waited tables for 6 years, and I wish I was able to feel some sort of empathy for the servers. The place was busy when we got there (Sunday football was in full gear), but the place isn't that big. I noticed at least 3 waitresses working. After almost 15 minutes of ordering our beverages, they arrived. He ordered a turkey sandwich and I ordered the french toast. Nearly half an hour went by and our drinks began to sit empty. It seems that my french toast was ready long before his sandwich was going to be, because when it was brought out it was room temperature, with no flavor, and about a tablespoon of syrup on the side. After trying to get someone to bring over more syrup (and my boyfriend's food), we finally decided to just leave. It was the worst service I have ever had. I know what it's like to feel completely weeded by so many tables, but that didn't seem the case for our waitress. All of the other diners in the restaurant appeared either done with dinner, and/or paying their tab, which confuses me as to why the kitchen was taking forever on putting together a turkey sandwich. We will never be back to this place and I will make sure and NOT refer this place to anyone, ever. Much better off going to Trappeze down the road for better beer, food, and service.
(1)Rucky R.
The food used to be good but me and my fiancé have been back twice recently and it was very mediocre. They took all the good things off the menu. The only part I would recommend is two dollar Tuesday's.
(2)Lauren M.
Go to Copper Creek in September/October - the Pumpkin Ale is d.e.l.i.c.i.o.u.s! I definitely don't frequent Copper Creek as much as I used to. Last summer, they always had 1/2 apps and buy-one-get-one on Mondays, and once they stopped doing that I stopped going. Still, the food is delicious, and definitely not your typical "bar food."
(4)Christine K.
Don't go expecting to be wowed by the food. It's your average pub fare. The beer, on the other hand, is really great. They have seasonal brews that you don't want to miss out on. I am a huge coffee person and loved their Cappuccino stout microbrew. They also have a beer sampler where you get 4 mini glasses of their brews!
(3)Lindsay S.
I will never forget the day I entered this brewery and my eyes fell upon the hundreds of copper pennies on the bar so shiny and wonderful I knew immediately that I had found a decent bar. At first, I will admit I categorized this bar as an "old people bar" and avoided it my first few months in Athens. I gave it a chance & have been coming back ever since. Surprisingly, I'm not a huge fan of the beer but I love the atmosphere. The food is pretty good as well I had the chicken tenders (with honey, of course) and french fries. Yum! If you go, get there early to snag a booth so you & your party will have somewhere to sit because it gets pretty crowded in the late hours of the night.
(4)Daniel H.
As of this moment Copper Creek is the best restaurant I have tried in Athens. They did a great job with the brewery restaurant concept. The food (I had the buffalo burger) was tasty the beer (stout) was also very good. What topped it all off was the excellent service my group received. I tip my hat to you Copper Creek.
(4)Matthew T.
Copper Creek is a great spot. Good micro-brew. I recommend the stout. Strong, but satisfying. A wide range of wings. BBQ are the best. I recommend getting them well done or "crispy" as they call them. Get there in time so they don't run out! Central location to UGA.
(4)Stephen M.
Great drink specials for beer and water down shots. Food is above average bar food.
(3)Tonia D.
While on a barhopping kind of night (9ish), we opted to finally check out Copper Creek. We were really impressed with the atmosphere at first. The beer was good and the food was delicious. However, after about 30 minutes, they cranked the music and suddenly you couldn't hear yourself think much less hear anyone around you talk. It didn't take long for us to drink up and head out for another bar. Still, we'll likely go back (if nothing else around normal dinner time).
(3)Kyle S.
Bring 10 bucks on a Tuesday and leave happily drunk. And I mean I-just-had-four-delicious-high-quality-beers drunk. I mean seriously? Two bucks for a pint of local microbrewery beer, that'd I'd normally be paying like double for? Killer. You might complain about the wait times. Sure, at times they get busy. But when you've got a list of shooters, all of which are ONE DOLLAR at midnight, you can bet you're going to get some traffic.
(5)Janet G.
I like the beer there, I do. And if I could drink beer without feeling headachey, I would probably go there more often. Maybe. But that 11PM power hour? Yuck. They have a special (see Kyle S.'s review) that turns the bar/restaurant into my personal version of hell. I was going to go more into that, but I'll leave it at that... So the food. I always think I'll want to eat there, that the assortment on the menu will be similar to other microbreweries I love (I'm thinking of some place in Charleston that may or may not be a chain, but it is yummy). I sit down, order a water, and look at the menu. And the only thing that looks vaguely appetizing is a salad. I think it's even made with iceberg lettuce, which we know isn't all that substantial. The chicken on it is good, and the dressing is yummy, but...it's not like Going Out to Eat. I am usually left wondering why we chose to go there. Next time, I'll go for microbrews. And a brain transplant that will give me a head that won't leave me migrainous.
(3)Natalia M.
Even though Copper Creek is known for its own beer, brewed right in the store, you do not have to be a beer connoisseur to enjoy a drink at Copper Creek. Don't let the fact that most people who do go here take their beer very seriously turn you off. Just don't make the mistake of saying, "All beer tastes the same to me," as I did the first time I was here, and you'll be fine. Tuesdays are their best nights; with discounted quality beer and fun crowds, Copper Creek will raise your spirits no matter what mood you find yourself in at the moment. Not many people know about this place, but lucky for you, it happens to be one of my favorites. And now that I have publicized this secret, the least you could do is to try it out, just once. Trust me, you'll love it and will be looking forward to coming again.
(4)robert b.
One thing that is very nice about copper creek is that they brew four different beers at a time, and they try to cover a range of different beer types. So for example, sometimes they might have a pale ale, pilsner, brown ale, and a stout. They rotate the beer types, which is good and bad. The first time I went there I got the nut brown ale. Oh what a glorious beer! But then they changed the rotation and I have not seen the nut brown beer there since. :( On tuesdays, beers are two dollars, and for a brew pub that is a really good deal (but please note: copper creek is packed on tuesdays because of that deal). And the food there is stellar, as some of the other reviewers noted. I really like the pork chop. My girlfriend loves the sweet potato french fries and the potato skins. We have also had a shrimp appetizer, which I thought was very good. So overall I would give this four stars. If they made the nut brown ale permanent or at least brought it back for a while I would surely bump them up to five stars.
(4)Ashley P.
I don't think I can say enough about Copper Creek. So I guess I'll just start from the beginning: Once upon a time, I was just another college girl who "didn't drink beer." I pretty much hated the stuff. I mean wouldn't even touch a beer for beerpong purposes (yeah, I played "liquorpong"). Strongbow was as close as this girl would get. Yeah, don't tell anyone, but I kind of started drinking beer just to impress my boyfriend.. I would get some light, innocuous beer and pretend to like it when I was secretly having to struggle to choke it down. Then, one day, I met the Belgian Blonde at Cu Creek and my troubles were over! I shivered a little bit, cocked my head, and exclaimed "Oh my god! I don't hate it!" It was at that moment that I realized that all beers are not created equal. I realized that, though light and innocuous, Miller Lite is gross! That's why I hated beer! Then, a few weeks later, I tried a copper creek Kolsh, and then Steam Ale, and then I found Sweetwater Blue and Hoegarden!! Before I knew it, I was, at last, FINALLY a BEER DRINKER!! *much rejoicing!* And now, every time I sit back and enjoy a rich brown ale or a bold stout, a tear forms in my eye and a little part of my soul thanks Copper Creek for providing me with a proper introduction to the world of beer. --------------------------------------------------Â------------------------------------------------- Now that I've gotten that out of the way.. The 2 dollar Tuesdays are pretty much the deal of the century, but you will definitely have to brave a substantial crowd to get your dew drops of heaven. Oh, and did I mention the dollar shooters? Yeah, all night, every night. Girl scout cookies, nutty irishmen, and nuts and berries?? For a dollar?? All the time?? Really??? Also, do note that the Pumpkin Ale and the Nut Brown are pretty much crack in a keg.
(5)Margaret C.
Very impressed. The bartenders were attentive, friendly, and actually took time to answer our beer questions. The beers were well crafted (I think they had 5 of their own beers on tap) and the bartenders were great about letting us try a beer before committing. Highly recommended
(5)Andrew D.
Wayyyyy to many nights have been spent here not remembering much. The beer is good and you cant beat the dollar shots. Reminds me of Moon River Brewery in Sav, GA
(4)James E.
The best bar in athens. Their micro-brews are wonderful, their food is exquisite and their $1 shots from 11-12 (or is it 12-1?) are great for feeling like you are a big spender. Highly recommended.
(5)Dana P.
I like the beer that they brew at the site. There is a beer for everyone. I also love that there app menu isn't typical bar food. Always get the phillino egg rolls. Delish!
(4)Carrie R.
Sorely disappointed. My boyfriend and I ate there a few weeks ago and the beer was great and we both ordered hamburgers and they tasted great at the time. We had a horrible waitress, but were willing to overlook it because other waitresses began to take care of us. However, a few hours later we were both struck with food poisoning. For 10 miserable hours I got to relive that hamburger and sweet potato fries. I was so sick that I had to go to urgent care once they opened. I continued to throw up for two days. I called the restaurant a few days after we ate there just to let them know that we had gotten sick from the burgers and never asked for our money back, just simply letting them know so that they could look at their preparation techniques so that other customers would not experience the same thing. I spoke with the manager and he began questioning me that I had gotten sick from their food and thought that it was absolutely absurd that I was even saying that their food had caused it. I doubt that my call went further than him so beware when eating there because there is no way that they have changed a thing. Needless to say, we will never be eating there again.

Stopped fairly early on a Saturday evening, before six. Not crowded at all. Rather dead, in fact. I imagine it picked up later as it was a brilliant day in Athens and there were lots of people out and about. Nice space with good booths and decent bar seating. I chose a booth. This is a brewpub - the reason I selected it. So, I tried two of their own beers: the Kolsch and the steam. Both pretty good, possibly because they are similar. Light, neither malty nor hoppy. The menu is rather limited, even in terms of bar food. But there are enough choices for my taste. Bison burger very good - nice toasted bun, tasty meat. Two small pickle slices are kinda chintzy, but the mustard I requested made up for that. Instead of fries, I ordered the wilted spinach. Nice. I put some on the burger. Excellent service.
(4)Crystal P.
Small dark and cozy. Popped in for a beer and a snack. First impression is that it smelled like a pet store (because of the hops). Was seated quickly by a very friendly waitress. I ordered the Irish Stout- delicious! Hubs ordered the IPA- he said...meh....not hoppy enough and a little too sweet for his taste. For snacks we ordered the Roasted Poblano Hummus which was absolutely fantastic and the Mozzarella Sticks- the sticks were what you'd expect but the marinara sauce was really great. Full of fresh tomato flavor and not overly sweet. Glad we stopped in but wouldn't go out of my way to come back.
(2)Jennie C.
Had been wanting to try this place but wasn't sure about bringing our 4 yr. old here. We gave it a shot & it worked out just fine! We sat in a booth away from the bar. I ordered the shrimp and grits and my husband the fried fish. Both dishes were great and far better than you would expect for bar food. I like dark beers and was not disappointed by their espresso stout. Strong flavor but a smooth finish. My husband had the IPA and enjoyed it as well. We both tried the Marzic (?) and really enjoyed that! I'd say both were better than some other local brewers. Personally, I like a place with a simple menu and beer selection as I feel that allows for specialization. Our server was nice but slow on getting silverware and bringing the check or I'd give it a 5.
(4)Shanice S.
YUMMY ASS BISON BURGER WITH BLEU CHEESE!!! Get into it! It's so good. Now that I'm 21 I want to go back and try their wings special. I think they're 50 cents each. I went there twice in a week and tried a lamb burger and bison burger. Both delicious. The only drawback is the WAIT. It's obnoxiously long when I went. I tried the beer on a food tour and it was good. We also had some small appetizers and sandwiches. They were so delicious!!!
(4)Jimmy W.
We arrived to a half-full restaurant. After 15 minutes of sitting there with no waitress, I said "We're leaving in 5 minutes if no one shows up". 4 minutes later the waitress showed up and took our drink order. Not a good start. It took another half hour to get our drinks. No one came by to get our food order during that time. At this point it was pretty ridiculous. Ordered food and waited nearly an hour. We were having to get drinks from the bar because the waitress was nowhere to be found. At the hour mark with no food, we laid down the cash for what we estimated the drinks would cost and left. First time I have ever done this in my life. By far the worst service I have ever encountered.
(1)Shannon P.
Had the pulled pork sandwich with cheese fries. My brother had the fried chicken. Both were very good!!
(5)Jennifer C.
Came here for drinks and appetizers with another couple. We enjoyed the beer and our shrimp pizza was tasty! We would come back again for sure.
(4)Christopher H.
One thing that impressed me about Athens was the beer scene. I wasn't really expecting to find such a good selection of microbrews. in my pursuit to find more local beer I went here for dinner on a Thursday night. While they didn't have an IPA, their pale ale was just fine featuring a nice balance of bitter and malt. Dinner was their bison burger which was just awesome.
(4)Jerry M.
Not impressed! Drove in from Atlanta to meet my daughter and we ere disappointed . Service is slow and food was cold. Athens has allot of great places would not go back.
(2)Kelsey F.
I like Copper Creek a lot more in theory than in actuality. It always seems like the perfect place to start a night away from the craziness of Clayton St. or Broad St., but I'm always a little disappointed. Their food is fairly good, table service isn't great and their beer is middle of the road. Two friends and I walked in around 8:30 on a Saturday night. There was only one table to be sat before us. As tables cleared out and we weren't seated, we grew hungrier and hungrier. About 30 minutes later we finally sat down, immediately ordered some Copper Creek IPAs and started scanning the menu. I've always thought their beer is okay. It's nothing to write home about, but it is nice to have a small brewery in the middle of downtown. I was going to order the portobello mushroom sandwich with pesto and gouda cheese, but they were out of it so I made a snap decision to get the bison burger. It came with cheese and lettuce. After everyone at the table tasted it, we all agreed it was tasty but desperately needed a tomato or condiment. There aren't condiments on the table and when my food arrived, the waitress told me she lost my ketchup on the way to the table, but she never brought me a new one. One friend ordered a salad which was pretty good except for the rock hard pita chips it was served with. My other friend got a turkey sandwich that was very filling. Our waitress wasn't around for most of our meal. We didn't end up leaving until about 11 pm because seating, ordering and paying took so long. It isn't that large of a restaurant so I think they could step up their service a little. I would recommend sitting at the bar if you are in more of a hurry.

Wow, what a cool experience! If I had decided to only visit based on the previous reviews we wouldn't have come but I'm so glad we did! The beer is phenomenal. I had the English Mild and my wife had the Kölsch. They both were amazing and so much better than most brewpubs! The bison burger was perfect and the grits are awesome. My wife had the nachos and said they were a bit dry, but definitely good. We'll be back for sure!!!

The beer really is outstanding. And cheap. And on Tuesday it's $2 pint nights. What could be better. The bi-polar pale ale was flat out spectacular. The nut brown was less so but we just tasted that. I love my IPA's and the bi-polar is amazing. Highly recommended. The food is average or maybe even slightly below average. The burger I had (with melted Gouda cheese which is an unusual offering!) was bland and lackluster even though it was cooked perfectly medium like I asked. It just didn't taste like anything. My wife's shrimp and grits was good, not great. But extra credit for having the tails off the shrimp! Come for the beer. Stay for the beer. Eat elsewhere. Come thirsty.

Cozy little brewery with good service and interesting decor. The lil salad was very good with the poblano vinaigrette. The Eggrolls were good just wish there was more filling and less wrap. Not too busy considering there was a home game (they have two flat screens).

Love this place! The staff is always super friendly and provides quick service. The pumpkin beer is the best I've ever had and the menu has a good variety of options for every craving. Great spot!

Always been a fan! Switched it up on Friday and had sangria instead of a tasty beer-sangria was delish!

Good beer and great food! The service was awesome too! First time my hubby didn't complain about how his burger was cooked!

Was expecting a slightly more upscale atmosphere, but enjoyed it overall. Very laid back. Im definitely a craft beer snob and love supporting local breweries. Their brews are just ok, sadly. Had the bison burger and loved it. Overall, the food was the highlight of the visit. Service was friendly.

I have been dinning in Athens for a couple years. I travel and entertain for a living. This place is a s$&t show. Granted it is parents weekend and game day but we it waited an hour to get seated and then an hour for an appetizer. The restaurant was full and nobody was getting served. We received appetizers. Not good. Don't eat here.
