My husband and I went here with our dog and sat outside, our server was fantastic, he even brought a bowl of water for the pup and took good care of us. The food was pretty good, I had a house salad (the only gluten free thing they have unless you want to go bunless) it had pickled veggies on it which made the salad taste odd with the feta dressing, so I probably won't get those next time. The fries (which I think are battered) were delicious (maybe because they're battered) and the basil-jalapeno sauce was yum!

We asked the the man behind the counter at wuxtry records where his favorite place was to get a burger in Athens and he said Clocked. I am so glad we asked him because I had one of the best burgers ever. We had a double Bronco Burger and it was delicious! We also had a grilled cheese sandwich with egg and bacon that was awesome as well. The next time you need a burger fix and you are in Athens Ga. you have to try out this place. Oh ya Ultraman on the TV was a nice touch!

Clocked has the feel of a classic diner. They have great burgers that are decently priced with good options that include their own flair. It's always a toss up between the tatter tots and the sweet potato fries for me. The carry Bells on tap and that's all they carry for beer, luckily I love Bells. They also have retro movies playing. Lunch doesn't seem to be too crowded. If you're going at night you may have to stand around waiting for a table. There is limited seating inside and it's first come first served. If you want a burger in Athens. I'd recommend it.

This is a cute little funky diner that is open late. First off, this isn't a place for gourmet food, so I'm rating it based off of what one would except to get from a tiny diner that specializes in burgers and sandwiches. On my last visit I had them create me a grilled cheese from their gluten free bun. I asked for provolone and cheddar cheese, with tomato and honey mustard to dip it in. My boyfriend got a more traditional burger with cheese and bacon, but he also recommends the burger with peanut butter. We also split an order of fries. The food is perfect for what it is. Tasty and comfort food is what you should expect here. I also crave their lemonades. This is a great stop for a casual meal

Best burgers and shakes in a casual, funky atmosphere. Authentic Athens. I'm here at least once a week if I can.

Every few years I give Clocked another shot, and every few years I leave a little frustrated. The service is stretched and slow, and there is usually something minor wrong with the order. Some condiment is missing, some topping is wrong, they ran out of a key ingredient in a menu item. The prices aren't that high, but they're not that low either. The food is fine, but nothing that wows me, and it doesn't vindicate the experience for me. It's definitely not the best that Athens has to offer.

The bacon, egg and grilled cheese was amazing. The service was great and received food quickly. Old school funky atmosphere. Great stop on our road trip!

I had the bacon and blue cheese burger and it was hands-down one of the best burgers I've had in a very long time. Very nicely seasoned, tender and cooked perfectly. The onion rings were very good, not greasy and a nice tempura type crust. French fries had a great potato taste and tasted fresh cut. Also, the lemonade was some of the best I've had in a restaurant. Cute eclectic retro setting and friendly wait staff. Will definitely make it a regular stop in Athens.

A really great place for lunch. I loved their sweet potatoe fries! Burgers are definitely on the pricier side and it doesn't include sides but it the portion makes up for it. I was stuff and completely satisfied with my Australian beach burger. Nice selection of music as well.

I love this place. I make my friends take me here every time I am in Athens. I love love love their burgers. Ever since I tried a Clocked burger no other burger can compare. For first timers I would really recommend their Friendship burger. It is simple but so yummy and satisfying. I recently tried their Ring of Fire burger, which was pretty good. I Always take advantage of the free add ons (caramelized onions and jalapeños ) and never regret it. Their sweet potato fries are good, can't go wrong with their tater tots either. I haven't tried any of their other special sauces because I am so hooked on their Raspberry Habanero Ketchup! Not really on the ketchup side, but it really is amazing with anything you dip into it. I also tried their new Garlic Parmesan fries... holy crap. Those were AMAZING. You could taste the fresh garlic that was on top and you could see the grated parmesan.. it was 100x better than I or any of my friends expected. It is a must try if you're a garlic/parm fan! Love the service here and the atmosphere. Definitely will be back!

My review in a nutshell: eh. I had heard good things about Clocked, so I figured I'll check it out finally. Walking in, I liked the diner-feel and artsy decor. Simple, small, and cute. We ordered the garlic Parmesan fries and hummus & chips to share, and both were tasty. The fries, however, were $3.25 for a small portion and really not anything special. If the fries are made in house, you can't tell. The hummus and chips were good. For my entree I got the regular burger with "fresh" jalapeños and an onion ring. They forgot the onion ring but brought it out very quickly once I mentioned it. The jalapeños, though not pickled, are not fresh. They are wilted, cooked, and not spicy at all. I was disappointed. Although the burger looked really good, it lacked flavor. The service was good but the waitress was stretched thin. Get her some help!! I will not be going back. There are plenty of better places in Athens to get a better burger. Oh... and it's not a diner -- it's a burger joint.

This is my favorite burger place, and I generally hate eating burgers. The ratio of meat-bun-condiments-other toppings here is perfect for me (I hate when meat makes up more than 50% of my burger or when all I taste is meat). My favorite is the Friendship Burger. I've been here twice since becoming a vegetarian, and although I don't think their veg options beat the burgers (which is a rare thing for me to say), I'm satisfied with the black bean burger and happy hummus. The black bean burger does taste really bean-y, which I don't really dig, and the happy hummus tasted really vegetable-y, but I prefer that over the bean-y taste. I love their tots and sweet potato fries. I usually go during dinner, so the wait gets kind of long. The one time I had a milkshake (I think it was pumpkin pie?), I enjoyed it. The consistency was exactly how I like it: I could drink it through a straw without being forced to use a spoon, but it wasn't watery. But not so amazing that it left me with any outstanding memory.

Normally I would rate this restaurants 4 stars. Unfortunately they advertise that they have gluten free sweet potato fries and buns but they fry the sweet potato fries in the same oil as onion rings. This makes them no longer gluten free. For the average Joe this may be fine but for those of us with allergies it is very misleading. After getting sick 4 times when eating there I found a piece of an onion ring or something in my fries. I asked the waitress if they were fried in the same oil as other things. She of course. I explained that they are not gluten free. She didn't seem concerned. I went in and spoke to the manager. I explained that cross contamination occurs when GF items are cooked with items containing gluten. I explained that unless they had a second , dedicated fryer for the GF items that they shouldn't be listing them on the menu as GF. He listened and said well sounds like we should just get a second frier. I said yes or take them off the menu- don't say they are GF. It has been 2 months since then. I called tonight and asked if they had GF sweet potato fries. They woman said yes. I asked if they were cooked in a separate frier. She said no. I said then they aren't GF. She giggled. I won't be going there again. I can't appreciate a business that thinks my health isn't worth being honest on the menu.

It you do not eat meat this is not the place for you. Clocked is a place you go for burgers. I ordered a falafel burger and it was not very good. Love the vibe and decor of the place.

Burgers, fries, Godzilla paraphernalia, good times. You can push and pull your own creation or try one on the menu. No hang ups yet and the staffs been peachy so far. The simplicity of an awesome burger kinda gets lost in the add - ons though you can easily do the build it yourself burger. This place has been a quick...maybe a tad grungey, burger joint. Every time I'm feeling black bean burgers I choose Clocked since the consistency and service haven't frowned on me yet. Occasionally reminding myself what the taste of meat is as well. Let's see... Eats? // Mostly the black bean burger on whatever. Not down with the buttery bun most of the burgers come on, but really like the honey wheat buns. There's also a gluten free option. There's this bacon jam burger thar I sub the beef with the bean pattie. I avoid dairy and sparingly dance with my meats, but the bacon jam... The bacon jam. I'm a fan. *tips hat* Really want to try the sweet potato fries. The regular natural ones aren't that bad all in all. Oh, burgers don't come with sides. Separate item.~ Staff// Really no big issues. All the servers have been friendly. Venue// Awesome posters and Godzilla stuff. Midday is pretty chill. Haven't tried evening hours. (/wï¼¼)

So anyone that knows me knows one thing, I love a good burger. Locals say this is the best burger in Athens...I'd say its far from it. I will say that they do have some creative burger combinations on the menu, but the burger itself is absolutely nothing to write home about. Bland bun, truck stop quality burger, and all the crazy toppings on top in attempt to disguise the bad. The only reason this place is getting two stars instead of one are two things: the retro posters/photos on the walls and the raspberry haberño ketchup. That's it. Everything else...the burgers, the sides, and the stuck up obnoxious hipster employees get zero stars. If you're looking for a great burger like they hype themselves to possess, look elsewhere.

Place is pretty good. You need to know in advance what is a good deal and what is not, otherwise you'll leave disappointed. I usually just get a burger and then some tots, most of the side/appetizers are kind of a rip. All the burgers I've tried have been good. Like everyone else says you gotta try the peanut butter bacon one if that's your thing. It's my fav. Service has always been good for me, never had to wait too long. I usually hit this place up during down times though, haven't gone during the dinner rush or anything. Bottom line: a good burger for the price. Definitely worth a try, but I can see how this place isn't for everyone.

I was referred here by a coworker. I had a hard time deciding what I wanted but went with my gut and got the peanut butter and bacon burger and a side of tater totes. The tater totes were awesome and crispy! The burger was also good. The hamburger meat was a bit different from what I've tasted but nevertheless worth eating again. The service was really good. The waitress with the pixie blonde cut was super nice and quick. I sat at the bar and she was very attentive. If I get to stop by again before I leave I would probably try the jam burger which is what the waitress told me was another popular burger there.

Awesome burgers, friendly staff. A Must when visiting Athens! Ask for Watermelon Lemonade and try the special sauces with your sweet potato fries! Meteor Burger is my favorite!

Ring of Fire burger was good, just no heat. My onion rings were 80% batter. The upside was the beer.

Looking for the best burger in Athens?! Clocked has it. The peanut butter bacon burger sounds crazy but it the best burger in town. Their tots are also super good, especially if you get the cajun kind paired with the feta dipping sauce. The atmosphere is also really unique and the decor is awesome to look at. I also enjoy how much outdoor seating they have available.

Came here around 1:15 pm on a Monday afternoon hoping to grab an uber-tasty late lunch. I'm not from the area but had glanced at the website for Clocked, and I was impressed enough to give this modern spin on diner food a try. There is a nice sized patio and the weather was gorgeous, so I sat outside. Service was a bit slow, but I expected the food would be worth the wait. I ordered the Veggie Frites with the Chipotle dressing and the Bacon, Cheddar and Egg Grilled Cheese. The veggies were a mix of carrots, asparagus and fresh green beans that had been flash-fried then dusted with S&P. These came out piping hot, and although they were quite tasty, they were very greasy....I realize that they were fried, but there was a healthy pool of grease in the dish that seemed a bit excessive. The grilled cheese, I hoped, would redeem the veggies. The bacon was thick and crisp and the fried egg was perfect (just a little medium in the center of the yolk). The cheese was what got me. On the menu, it's called the Bacon CHEDDAR and Egg Grilled Cheese, but it had American cheese on it. It was a good sandwich, but there's nothing like expecting a good, sharp cheddar, and instead getting American. Overall, I think Clocked is probably a great spot to grab a burger and drinks with friends in the evening. Maybe not the best spot when you are rushed for lunch. I'd give it another go.

Great cheeseburger and especially like r the bun. Ordered onion rings too...big mistake. The batter was coming off and they were very greasy.

Ring of Fire burger on gf bun with sweet potato fries was excellent. Others also enjoyed their burgers and rings. The chicken sandwich was not quite as good.

Great little burger joint! Small and intimate with outdoor seating as well. The burgers were good but for the price I would've liked for there to be a little more meat. Great flavor though. The Clocked! Secret sauce is pretty tasty as well. I will go back and try out more of the menu.

Fun atmosphere. Burgers are tasty with unique offerings. Service can be hit or miss. Never rude but slow. The Veggie Frites were not impressive - greasy but with no batter. Stick to the burgers and you'll be happy.

This place has certainly had its ups and downs during the six years I've lived in Athens. I'm so happy to report that it's on the upswing after my last visit. The burgers have always been fantastic, and the service was great this time. Although prices have gone up, it's worth it for some of the best burgers in town. I'm partial to the Great Meteor, but also enjoy the Elvis (PB & Bacon) and Bronco. I always get the tater tots (I mean, you can't get them anywhere) with feta sauce. The sweet potato fries are also really good. It's a nice touch to get a piece of double bubble with your check (although the gum is really gross after 30 seconds), but it matches the Sci-Fi movie posters and old killer robot / dinosaur / alien movies playing on the TV.
My first time at Clocked was after a swim meet at UGA and I got the black bean vegan burger. I remember it being very satisfying and spicy. Great classic diner vibe and lots of waitresses for perfect customer attention. Friendly staff. Good food and good atmosphere. Will always recommend this place in Athens.

Fantastic burgers but average and over priced add-ons make this a place I wouldn't go back to. Went in for dinner on a Sunday and service was incredibly slow. The burgers themselves were great but my chocolate malt and sweet potato fries were disappointing for the price.

Pretty tasty burgers. Kinda dry though. I've had the feta burger and the burger with jelly. They have good onion rings. Pricing and service are ok. I like the atmosphere and they have outside seating and are dog friendly.

Clocked was the first restaurant I ever visited when I first moved to Athens. I have visited through out my years here and enjoyed their greasy goodness. But the past 3 times I have gotten take out the guy at the counter ( I assume he is the manager) has been very unwelcoming. He would just place the food in front of me and get the change saying as little as he can, like I was bothering him. I always tip 20%. This time I handed him the tip and without a word, snatched it out of my hand. The whole time keeping this " I hate life"look on his face...That was the last tip you get from me clocked. There are plenty of better restaurants near by that have some costumer service.

We had 5 in our party and sat outside on a beautiful day. We tried 4 different burgers and a veggie melt. Also had fries, tater tots and vegetable frites. Everything was tasty and at a good temperature. The burger patties were a bit bland and disappointing but the toppings were good. Tater tots were crisp on the outside and hot inside. Fries were ok and vegetable frites were light and not bad. Also had a mocha shake which was a good size and good creaminess. Took a star off because of the wait for food. Our sides came out 10 minutes before the burgers. Service was attentive and nice but the kitchen timing appears off. So many places to eat in Athens. It may be a while before I choose to return to Clocked on a future visit to the Classic City. But I wouldn't turn it down if invited to eat there again.

Wifey and I went over to Athens on a Sunday to purchase a bike that I wanted...and we met the guy at Clocked...as we heard that Clocked had spectacular burgers...and...we wanted a burger! Well...it did NOT disappoint! The burgers were excellent! Wifey had her usual...a straight up burger with lettuce, tomato, mustard and ketchup. She has declared it the best she has had in Georgia...which is saying something considering we both like Stax in Roswell and Cheeseburger Bobby's (various places) a lot! She was very quiet...and munched hers quite quickly! I had the Bronco Burger with gouda (yum!), BBQ sauce, bacon and onion rings...along with lettuce and tomato (hmmm...leave the garden off next time). OUTSTANDING burger...maybe not quite the best in Georgia...but...definitely worth the trip! Very very very good! I took the onion rings off (they were standard, frozen onion rings...not too good) and enjoyed the burger with the other condiments (including the garden)...but...the gouda...oh my goodness...I have a new cheese for my burgers! OK...French Fries...nope...we got Tater Tots...and I love Tater Tots with my burgers. Now, I am definitely a Fry guy...but...when I have the choice...I often go for the Tots...and these were very good (after we added some salt!)...they came out hot, crispy on the outside and potatoey on the inside...Yum... Service...well...others have complained about the service...we had absolutely no issues with the service...quick, accurate and complete...so...no problems...

We were so excited to try Clocked but weren't really impressed. While the menu has an extensive selection the different burgers and fries we tried were just so-so. Nothing was amazing and our waitress seemed less than attentive. It wasn't horrible but probably wont go back.

We took a group of coworkers here for lunch today and the food was very well done. The tater tots were perfectly cooked and I really liked the raspberry habanero ketchup - nice and spicy! I had a delicious grilled cheese with bacon and jalapeño - awesome. My coworkers had sandwiches from burgers to vegetarian options. Everything was delicious and the blackberry shake looked great.

Peanut butter bacon burger is phenomenal as are pretty much all of the burgers. You can just taste that all the ingredients are premium. I have to fight urges to come eat here everyday, and I think it has something to do with the sweet potato fries. Cajun spiced with some Chipotle sauce they are the best fries I have ever eaten.
(5)
Annie L.
Ordered medium well and there was too much "pink" in the middle. I liked the toppings, but then again I'm super basic...tomatoes and lettuce is always a thumbs up in my opinion. Also, $6 for a basic burger = please come with fries? Not necessarily, that's on the side and also extra $$$. I liked the feel of the diner. It was really...retro. Our server was really sweet as well.

Takes a little while to get your food, but the burgers are so good it's worth it. Especially the burger with peanut butter. Only thing I wish they would change is to include fries when you order a burger instead of charging you extra.

I had a hard time deciding on whether to give 1 or 2 stars, so I'll just give 2 and let you decide if you can eat here. They have roaches. After placing our order, I gasped when I saw a roach crawling its little way down the wall by the bar. I quickly pointed it out to my friend who laughed at my disgust. After convincing myself that maybe, just maybe, no insect would be coming into contact with my food, I saw the same roach meet up with another roach! They just kind of chilled there for a little bit, like this whole thing was normal. It was then that I decided I just couldn't come back here, but since I was with a friend I decided to at least eat my food this time. (Crazy, I know.) I had the South Street burger and sweet potato fries with feta sauce. The food is decent, but I've had better. It truly is just like a five guys burger with more options. Nothing to write home about. And certainly not good enough to ignore the roaches! 3 stars for the food. Negative stars for the little critters.

I'm always happy to try a new place with a good handful of friends. Especially when it's all about burgers & fries. And especially when staff is as friendly as they are at Clocked. In hindsight, I probably should have tried some of the other things on the menu, but my special garlic burger did not blow my socks off. And the chili left me wanting something different. And I should have gotten some fries. My burger was kinda dry (I'd ordered it done medium). The garlic cloves on it were huge, but lacked any character. I mean, when I eat a fistful of big-ass garlic cloves, I expect living organisms in the upper atmosphere to say, "Holy mackerel!" (I censored that last sentence.) The chili tasted like it started with a roux. I'm not sure if that was intentional or not. I mean, I had a fleeting thought that it had been on the burner too long. But if it was intentional, I don't know whether to regard it as genius or folly. Next time I go, and I WILL go again, I'll stick with some of the more traditional offerings.

Adorable diner and incredibly friendly servers. The waitresses were so nice, and super helpful regarding tips on what to do in Athens. Milkshakes here are fantastic.

Friendly staff and funky vibe. However, our burgers took over an hour to arrive, and were not hot...they had been sitting in a window for a while. Sometimes the wait is worth it. Not so for Clocked. It was a Wednesday night, (not busy, not slow) and every table was waiting as long as us.

This place is fantastic and a must visit while you are in Athens. They are open super late and have great burgers. The fried pickles are also a must order. With friendly service, cheap food and Bells Brewery as their official house beer this is definitely a place to check out. We were going to a show at 40 Watt so it ended up being a great spot to chill out at before the show started. Try the peanut butter and bacon burger, its amazing.

I've been here twice and both times have been so great. Both times I got the Friendship Burger with fries and garlic aoili. Y'all, such a good burger. My friend and I literally for the entire 30 minutes we were there, talked about how good our burgers were. The second time, I took my boyfriend and he got the ring of fire burger. He was so in love with the flavors and the spiciness. The garlic aoili is so yummy with the crispy fries. I also dabbed some of it on my burger. The service was great both times. Attentive but not overbearing. I came at times that weren't too busy so I have not had trouble getting seats. The atmosphere is great; nice nostalgic feel. They give a piece of bubble gum with the check!

This place can kind of suck it. I have been there twice, and their staff is just really unprofessional. They seriously just stand around and gossip. In front of customers. It made me super uncomfortable, especially when they made a joke about how I must love hearing about all their social lives. Huh? Yeah, ha ha. Funny. I guess the upside is at least their burgers aren't any good, so it's not like I'll be craving one, and then have to deal with the weirdness in there. I mean, they're not bad, for sure. They're just really super average and uninteresting and not made of beefy love. The interior is sort of bright and cute and quirky...I wish the staff and burgers were too. :( ;( ;( Two stars, but three frowns!

I wanted to take my husband to a good burger place when we came into Athens because I know it has been awhile since he's gotten to eat a good burger. We chose Clocked due to the well styled menu (yes, I judge that....sigh...I'm weird) and the peanut butter and bacon burger. We came in knew we just had to try that. At 11:30am on a Saturday, it was fairly empty, but started picking up once we left. Actually, when we started walking around at 11, the whole city seemed to still be asleep. We seated ourselves quite quickly and were given plenty of time to mull over the menu because we were being quite slow. They serve fountain coke which is a plus in my book! Food was good and came out warm. I got the bronco burger, which was probably our least favorite of the meal. The meat on both burgers was good and well seasoned - I enjoyed that - but the barbeque sauce on the burger was almost indistinguishable from ketchup in taste - too much vinegar/tomato and it really took away from the burger. The onion rings on top were still a little hard so when you bit into them, they didn't tear easily, resulting in a mess. The batter was good though. My husband got the peanut butter and bacon burger which was delicious. It comes with their house burger sauce which, for someone like me who hates mayonaise, mustard, ketchup, and anything like that on my burger, was actually really good. It went well with the peanut butter and bacon, perfectly actually. It is a messy burger, but I suggest you come in for just that. Fries were good, they reminded me of what would happen if Burger King made better, thicker fries. I still prefer more boardwalk style fries. Service was good and the place is really cute. I think it is definitely worth coming too.

Hmm. I just came home from dinner eating with some friends at this restaurant and my experience was below average. Firstly, the waitress is SUPER nice and has a wonderful smile that you can't help but smile back. She took our orders promptly but it was the wait for the food that took forever! It was at least half an hour before we (party of 5) got our food. Which was bearable since we chatted the whole time but if your party lacks good conversation--prepare for awkwardly long drawn out silence because you Will have to wait. We were lucky to get a table tonight because I saw a number of people come in and leave because there just wasn't enough seats available. Food-wise, I ordered the Mushroom & Swiss grilled cheese sandwich was average. Waaayy too many mushrooms in it (don't get me wrong I like mushrooms, but that was all I was tasting) but my sweet potatoes fries were perfect! But at $3 for an average portion of fries was saddening..I thought there would have been more to share with friends! Maybe my mistake was not ordering a hamburger like everyone else because they all LOVED their burgers. So make sure you check out their burgers before you take a test on their other menu items.. And maybe my second mistake was not ordering a milkshake! We were eye-ing some leftover milkshakes these kids left at their table, thinking what a waste! We might have taken one off their hands if it wasn't socially unacceptable behavior..I think ordering your 7 yr olds tall milkshakes knowing they can only stomach 1/4 of it is a socially unacceptable! If we weren't all full, I would have definitely ordered one! =D

There's no better burger in Athens than a Clocked burger, period. The variety is substantial, the quality is high, the flavors are rock and roll, the people are friendly, the atmosphere is quirky and fun, and the milkshakes. Oh god the milkshakes. It's a good thing I'm writing this from my table.

First time in downtown Athens and was in dire need of a hamburger. Thanks to the trusty Yelp app we found this spot. Small store front atmosphere with a mix of hipster and slacker college feel thrown together. Ordered the sweet potato fries which were outstanding as all the reviewers suggested but they arrived way before our burgers. I opted for the South Street burger that was cooked perfectly but the toppings made it because the burger had no seasoning plus the whole thing became a little sloppy buy the end. Wife went with a Bacon cheese burger which was also bland plus it came with condiments that she requested NOT to have on it. There is really nothing special about the food this place is serving up and maybe it's just a cool place for the college crowd but Five Guys would of satisfied our hunger just as well. Sorry to say we will not be back.

Clocked is a must try. They have food for everyone, and a killer falafel burger. Though, I could be biased because falafel and I go way back. Sweet potato fries are also a win. They're pretty reasonably priced, and have a really cute, retro vibe. They seem a bit understaffed, so it can seem pretty busy. Definitely give this place a try. Did I mention you get free bubble gum at the end? Score!

Had Ahi Tuna Sandwich, sweet potato fries, and a salad The sandwich was meh. It was not seasoned... at all and it was cooked a little too much. About what I expected for Ahi Tuna at a burger joint but I figured I'd try it. it would have been a disaster if I didn't get the honey wasabi sauce on the side as it was like green, watery, cake icing. I do not recommend this sandwich. The sweet potato fries were wonderful. They were done and seasoned perfectly and I will probably dream about them tonight. They were made even better by the raspberry dipping sauce. I really like that this place does fries well. The house salad was also surprisingly good. I had it without dressing because it had some fruit/ possibly pickled or candied veggies in it and tasted great as is. It was nice and fresh. Our server was kind of a dick. Everything was a chore for him. However, I don't think he was doing it on purpose. He seemed tired. Whatever. At any rate, I will be back to try the place again. Next time I'll order a burger...but I would like to find a healthier viable option.

I thought this place was a bit overrated. The menu promises more than the flavors in the food deliver. I ordered a ring of fire burger, which wasn't very spicy, smoky, or complex, and their fried veggies, which lacked any flavor and was a little greasy (needed some vinegar or lemon at the minimum). The food was also pretty small considering the price. Given what I ordered, what I paid, and the quality, I don't think I would come back here unless I were going with friends who chose this place to meet up. Not bad, but there are better meals in Athens to be had.

Dined at Clocked this weekend. Delicious burgers and fries. The jumbo deluxe topped with egg and bacon was a perfect Sunday indulgence. The burgers are also very well-sized. I was able to comfortably hold it and eat it . . . .which can prove to be a difficult task with many oversized burgers these days. The cheese fries were not my favorite-I should have opted for normal fries with a dipping sauce. Both the feta and the chipotle dipping sauces were great! A very good meal overall.

Clocked was better than I expected - we were looking for a simple lunch in Athens on a Sunday and not having a ton of luck figuring out what we wanted, what was open, etc. So we ended up at Clocked feeling a bit out of sorts anyway, but that was pretty quickly cleared up with a pitcher of Bell's Two Hearted Ale (yay for pitchers! Yay for Bell's, which I still can't get in northern CA!) I didn't find the food particularly exciting, but the burgers and salad were good, I appreciated all the options for toppings, the outdoor seating was great, the service was quite friendly, and the bathrooms were clean. I'd still try to find something more interesting if I were in Athens again, but I'd definitely go back.

Good variety of burgers and lots of fun things on the menu! Clocked uses fresh ingredients and offers all of its burger combinations with a veggie patty. The last time I went, my roommate got Watermelon Lemonade, and we haven't stopped talking about it since!

Delish burgers that don't let you down! Veggie options are available too and that is nice. Make sure you get the basil jalapeno dipping sauce for your fries or tots - holy yumminess! My kid LOOOOOVES the shakes and soda options, so it is fun to take your kids here. It's smallish so get there early or come late - it gets packed quickly.

A quirky yet fun place to have a burger with friends! Try the peanut butter and bacon, as well as the sweet potato fries, they are amazing! Their small dining place always packed with people, so plan your visit as early as possible.

Good burgers - cool vibe -- and I'm happy that you can now get a single order of onion rings (rather than the $5 basket like it used to be).

Again with Athen's restaurants...I don't know what it is about this place, but I haven't been happy with a single dining experience in this town. Which makes me very sad, very. This place looks like the cutest little hole in the wall diner experience, but the service was terrible and slow. It took a table of four an hour to get 3 felafel burgers and a regular burger. On top of that our "sides" came out more as appetizers? And we were left sitting for 30 minutes after devouring those (because we were starving) waiting for our burgers to arrive. I guess the worst part about it is the fact that school was out so the place wasn't packed. : | I will probably give this place another try once I am back in this college town, but for now...Meh. I've definitely experienced better. : (

This is a super-cute diner with friendly staff. The counter is filled with toy dinosaurs and the walls with old tv show memorabilia (notably ultraman). The small tv behind the counter is always apparently always playing old Ultraman episodes. I came here today for lunch with a co-worker. I ordered a tuna melt with sweet potato fries and a coke with blackberry syrup and she got a falafel sandwich and a sweet tea. The portions were hefty (I couldn't even finish my entire meal) and the service was speedy. Other menu highlights (for my next visit) include tater tots, a vegetarian section, a separate vegan section, and a MULTITUDE of syrups to try in your soda. There are also flavored milk shakes and old school sodas/malts. Nice affordable lunch spot. Now for my afternoon nap.

My wife and I took several of our students here while we were in town for JanFest at UGA. My burger and onion rings were great along with everything else I sampled from others. During our meal the waitress was courteous and quick to refill drinks. The only problem I encountered was our waitress saying loudly that "she knew that she would get stiffed" when she thought we were already gone. I always make sure my students tip at least 15% and I always tip 30% when I subject my students on waitresses. She was well taken care of. Sorry I didn't double my check when I tipped you.

Recently, my baby sister obtained a sweet suite at the Gameday for my boyfriend and me. My goal heading to Athens can be summed up in one word: EAT. I had only been there once before and enjoyed both meals I'd had, and I knew there was more to come. What with everything being in walking distance, it was basically like having a clean caloric slate. My sister, boyfriend, and I are all huge burger fans (and we also like air and water! Weird!) so when Sister couldn't stop raving about Clocked, Boyfriend and I knew it would be a winner. I loved the funky decor--I would have stolen one of their jello-like glass light fixtures if I thought I could get away with it. The service was friendly and pretty fast. They have a BYOB policy and Boyfriend had just enough time to run to the Gameday and back with a beer before the food arrived. He and I split two burgers, whose clever names escape me (possibly the Meteor and Rodeo, if those are things). One had pepper-jack cheese, chipotle mayo, and jalapenos. It was super freakin' delish. The side of tater-tots were crispy perfection and my only regret is that I couldn't finish them all. The other burger had bbq sauce, an onion ring, and cheddar. The sauce wasn't too sweet and had a nice spicy kick to it. The side of onion rings were the fat beer-battered type. I think I only had one, because I was soooo disgustingly full. My sister's favorite is a bacon-feta burger, and it did not disappoint. She also sprung for the fried pickles, and dude. Not that they COULD be bad, but they were the total opposite of bad. In fact, they were so opposite that they came back around to bad and made it like in the 80s when bad, in fact, meant good. I mean, damn. We stumbled back to our suite in our food-drunken haze and took a nap. And when I woke up, I sorely wished I had saved my tater tots. Next time, tots, you will be mine. Even if I have to fast for 2 days beforehand.

Nice joint in downtown Athens, near the 40 Watt. I was drawn in because the place was just straight up cute and kind of funky looking. Plus, I took a peek at the menu on the window and suddenly was craving a burger. There were a lot of custom burger options on the menu, but I kept things simple and went for the basic cheeseburger and a cup of chili. They had Cheerwine, that North Carolina delight on the fountain, so I paired the meal with that. Beer lovers have a full slate of options from Bell's Brewery up in Kalamazoo to choose from. The burger was excellent. I sat at the counter and watched Godzilla on a small color TV and watched a guy in the back cook it up on a flat griddle. It came out with an impressive piece of lettuce, some fresh roma tomato slices, red onion, and a mayo/sriracha sauce on the sesame seed bun. The meat had a great flavor and had the right amount of juiciness. This IS a tasty burger, just like the "big kahuna burger" from that one scene in Pulp Fiction. The chili was a little weird. Not as hot (temperature and spiciness wise) as I would've liked but it had a good flavor, color, and texture. It was on the sweet side, so I guess it could be classified in the Cincinnati family of chilis. It was served with shredded cheese and a tiny little drop of sour cream. Still, it was refreshing to have something other than fries to choose from for a side dish. Service was friendly, and as it was just me they kept my glass full and were attentive while just letting me do my thing. Next time I'm up at the 40 Watt for a show, I'll try to make it in again to try the hummus.

What took me so freaking long?! We've lived in Athens for two years and have heard people talk about Clocked, but never eaten there until this summer. I'm now kicking myself for walking past it a million times. Ahh well. C'est la vie! Now I know that Clocked is as good as a burger gets in this town. I'm hooked on the mushroom swiss and my husband loves the turkey burger. I really think the fact that you can get tater tots there might be what really puts it over the top. Now to try one of those fabulous handspun shakes I keep hearing about...

I had the best turkey burger ever at this place & my friend had the best watermelon lemonade. They also have really cool Godzilla memorabilia.

This is a Re- review as of today. I sadly write this much lower review as opposed to the wonderful experience I had several times this past summer. We DO NOT live in Athens, and drive about 40 min to get here, we came in about 330 sat at the bar. The place was NOT packed like usual. We had the same waiter we have had before, and honestly Im not a fan. He is almost bordering on rude and snobby?! Took our orders we ordered a side, two burgers. the side came with sauce last time I ordered it today we had to ask for a sauce an wait a while for it, AND the dish was completely different than the last time I had it! we waited so long for the burgers I also canceled the order, but the waiter if he made eye contact probably would have lost his mind. other wise, three ladies were also behind the bar discussing the upcoming nights plans, cool I really don't care at all. But no one asked if we needed anything or can we refill your water etc. When the burgers arrived i asked for mayo, again I our waiter mid eye roll went off to fetch it. The burgers were soooo mediocre neither of us finished even half. The delicious burgers from 5 months ago were MIA. No taste, no pizazz just a wad of tasteless meat. I've made better burgers at home. Pissed at this point, i decided to wave down one of the Misses still talking it up behind the bar for a box, I live closer to Atlanta where if you are gonna call yourself a burger joint you better be serious about it. I will not be going back, nor will I continue to send my friends here. Service and Food quality needs some SERIOUS work! I hope they can find the cooks from 6 months ago, and fast!

Definitely a little cramped in there, but the line was really short and the food came right out! I ordered a grilled cheese with bacon and it was absolutely amazing! The servers were nice and although it was pretty loud, I would definitely go back again and order something new!

The food at Clocked is delicious! They have a very extensive burger menu so there is something for everyone. The feta dip for your fries is delicious, as are their milkshakes! It is located in downtown Athens so the environment is great! Love this place!

Went here on Saturday, post the game vs. Buffalo. Had a chocolate peanut butter shake and also decided to go out on a limb and get a peanut butter bacon burger (not pregnant, just like peanut butter). Anyhow, after ordering the experience was just bizarre.. or some would characterize it as gross. Let me preface my story with the fact that the kitchen is pretty open to the layout of the restaurant and the grill/flat top is very visible to customers especially if you're seated at the bar. So, here's what happen (no joke); this Chewbacca looking guy who's manning the grill places peanut butter on my burger with his BAREHANDS, then bacon in same fashion, then places the lid over the burger to commence the melting process. He then proceeds to lick his hands and afterwards wipe them with the nearest towel. COMPLETELY OBLIVIOUS to my sight line or that working at a restaurant and preparing food for others would require even the slightest bit of regard for cleanliness.. continues to cook the burger and actually makes eye contact with me. Long story short - I was a little buzzed having just gotten back from the game and also hungry as hell / in a hurry to beat raffic on 78..so I ate about half of the burger. the waiter asked if anything was wrong with it, I said "no"... in any normal circumstance I wouldn't have eaten the burger, and maybe have made a bigger deal about it.. but this was the perfect storm. Anyhow, I guess I write this review with the intention of forewarning any future patrons of the sloppiness of the kitchen staff at this place...not much else. Oh yeah the shake was good - I think my waiter made it, but I'm not sure he washed his hands either...

A very unique restaurant that is always crowded whenever I go. They serve a large assortment of unique burgers, including one with peanut butter. My only real problem is that you have to pay for fries separately.

I'll be honest - it was probably the best burger I've eaten at a restaurant. I don't remember exactly which one I ordered, but it was delicious. On the other hand, the service was so slow. We went for lunch and there were maybe 10 customers total. The server acted like he was on drugs or something - it was pretty awkward. Overall, great burger. I'm almost positive there was some Godzilla on a small TV in there, too. That doesn't hurt.

In an area seemingly constantly under siege from chains, it's great to see places like this catching on and holding their own. Clocked is popular enough that getting a seat can be challenging at times. The menu is mostly an innovative take on hot-dogs-burgers-fries-shakes food, with burgers in the $5-8 range and other items priced very reasonably. How about a burger with bacon and melted peanut butter on top? Or tater tots with garlic-dijon dipping sauce? Or a Cheerwine-flavored shake? Part of the experience is to comb the menu, try something innovative that might work, and tell all your friends about it. Even if you just get a plain cheeseburger or fries with only ketchup, though, it'll taste good because the ingredients are good. It's hard not to compare this place to The Grill, the much longer-running local burger place more centrally located. Both are good in their own ways, and vastly preferable to the chains. Clocked is the kind of place that also reminds me of Portland, Oregon, and food trucks and smaller places there. These kinds of businesses provide far more local benefit than do the chains, and in a college town like Athens they're relying on kids from mostly suburban areas who've grown up only around chain stores breaking free of that.

Sweet potato fries are becoming the go-to side for burgers. The menu says sweet potato tots but fries they are. Yummy. And the burgers. Our first time at Clocked was Saturday night. Janis and I went with the boys to enjoy some meat. Isaac got the standard cheeseburger and Jon stepped it up with the bison burger. I ordered the bleu burger and Janis went meat-free with the falafel burger. All were executed well and tastily. Isaac liked the free refills on the soda. Jon *loved* his burger. Mine was also very good. Janis enjoyed her falafel concoction but don't order it thinking it's a health food. Service was very good. We enjoyed the Godzilla/Ultraman decor complete with Ultraman videos playing on the tv. It's a little pricy with totals of about $10 a person after tip. But we all thought it deserved a return trip. Good stuff.

When it comes to clocked I always expect poor service, long wait for the food and wait staff that seems to be hanging out. I went today and that wasn't exactly the case. Either it is because it is summer in Athens or the owner has realized there are some issues. Anyway our group of 5 was one of two tables in the restaurant for lunch. We ordered at the counter, got our drinks and sat down. It wasn't that long before the food was brought out. I had the Friendship Burger and Tots, and was generally pleased with the meal. Others had the sweet potato fries which were also good. The service seemed friendly, but I didn't understand why we had to order at the counter when they had a bunch of staff just idling behind the counter and only one other group waiting. I'm going to come back by in the fall and see if things have improved or worsened. We shall see, but for now I have to give clocked 4 stars for delicious burgers and tots

The black bean burgers are great here and they have a little bit spicy which is nice. I am here with my mother and her two dogs last time they visited. The waiter brought out water for the dogs which is always nice.

Tater tots. Bayou Burger. Goooood, verrry gooood. Biiiiig serviiiiing. Like, I was kind of struggling to finish the burger it was so big. I could barely fit it into my mouth... 'Cause it was so big... [That's what she said] [Thank you] [Okay, move on] Sweet tea was not good, please, don't get it. Went for lunch [hey, doesn't that usually start this off?] Very friendly service. Very. Friendly. Not in a creepy way, though. Don't mistake that repetition for creepiness. Also, I suggest ordering french fries instead of tater tots. Tots were not bad, but the fries were something else! Very clean taste, crisp... *drool

Really surprised by quality and tastiness. Good mix of vegetarian and non. Quick friendly service. Lively diner atmosphere and decor sparse. Not bad for a quick lunch. I was pleased to see a genuine mix of vegetarian fare along side pleanty of meat eaters choices. We sometimes dine with a mixed crowd and places that exclude either side are a turn off. It's a diner so it gets noisy and crowded,,,,but I like that sometimes.

The food here is consistently very good, but not often great. I do love that they have tasty sweet potato fries. It is a wonderful place to eat very a satisfying meal when you are really hungry for grill food, but where they really shine is in the dessert menu. The homemade brownie sundae is amazing and we didn't get past it as an afternoon treat for over a year. Then one day we got milkshakes (insert Homer Simpson drooling noise). Wow. I have to say they are the best milkshakes I've had in this town and one easily satisfies 2 people. Our various playdate guests have had the pies and such and have always been very happy with them, but my kids and I stick to the brownie sundae and shakes.

Great greasy eats! I love all their crazy burgers (peanut butter and bacon, anyone?), and the fact that they will make any sandwich into a salad. I love all their non-meat options, such as falafel, and their tots (with feta of course) are the best I've had. Sure it's a little cramped and the food seems to vary each time, but when it's good, IT'S GOOD.

Try: Deluxe Grilled Cheese, Peanut Butter and Bacon Burger Most of the menu items at Clocked! would be simple for even beginning cooks to make, but their delicious charm lies in their elegant, creative simplicity and the skillful execution of their dishes. Kyle's right - the service here is consistently abysmal and there is usually only one cook and one server, but that's just part of Clocked!, and it's come to be expected.

One of the better burgers I've had in Athens. They have a fantastic selection of different burger types, and a lovely atmosphere to eat in. The fries were so-so, with the sweet potato fries being much better. I had the Garlic Cheeseburger, which included huge roasted garlic cloves. This was excellent, and I'd eat again. My wife had the BLT, and loved it. She's a frequent BLT eater and claimed it was one of the better ones she's had. I'd say this place is a must stop diner type of place if that's what you are looking for.

Awesome burgers, great atmosphere, cool vibe, owners that care. Athens is lucky to have Clocked, they obviously care a lot about what they do and try their best to take care of the customers. Some people have commented on the crappy service, but I know they've definitely done a lot to try to remedy that....and as a business owner, that's all you can do (some employees just suck no matter what)! If you're in Athens and want a burger, this is the only place you should go. Local and DELICIOUS.

A staff member here stole something of mine that was left at the restaurant. Management said they would refund the price of the stolen item. They did not. I was shocked at clocked. The food is so-so and the staff is unable to handle basic customer service. Clocked should be mocked.

Met some folks last Wednesday for lunch at Clocked. We wanted to enjoy the warm Athens day so we sat outside at the picnic tables on the patio. Burgers we suggested by our helpful waiter, but I was thinking Greek salad. I asked for the grilled Tuna steak on top of the salad & he said no problem. What I really like about a restaurant is their ability to make the customer happy. The burgers & grilled Tuna Greek salad were great and the service was pleasant and steady without being overwhelming.

Don't believe the hype. Clocked has OKAY burgers, but they're nothing special. The first time I went to Clocked, I was very drunk, so I didn't really recall too much about it. The second time I went to Clocked, I ordered the peanut butter bacon burger. They forgot the peanut butter. On top of that, I could not track down our server to let him know. The service that night was atrociously slow and there was hardly anyone in there, so I'm not sure why. The third time I went to Clocked, I'm not sure why I went since the second time was pretty much an epic failure. I once again ordered the peanut butter bacon burger. This time it came with both peanut butter AND bacon! It was okay. I mean, the combination of peanut butter and bacon on a burger is pretty unique and yummy, but their burgers are nothing spectacular. To be quite honest, I prefer Five Guys burgers.... and they are a chain. Clocked's burgers are freaking bland as hell. I would probably go back to Clocked... if someone else were paying. Or if I were drunk. But sober and on my dime, I can think of about 50 different places in Athens where I'd rather eat.

Been here twice. First time had the bacon cheeseburger and fries, and that is pretty hard to ruin. Recently had the falafel sandwich, which gets points for originality since it wasn't pita bread filled with falafel and hummus, like 99% of all "falafel sandwiches" in the world look like. Instead it was a bun with a falafel patty. I felt like I was eating a sandwich and not eating faux greek mall food. It was good. My knocks on this place are that last time I went it was hot as dook in there. Also, their hummus tastes too strongly of green onion. Kind of weird. But whatever, this place is cheap and tasty.
(3)
Monica C.
meh. This place had high reviews, so I was looking forward to it. Tastes like 5 guys but more expensive because it's not a chain. The grill is better. The "delta" (cole) slaw was blah. Don't really recommend.
(3)
Dani P.
If you like greasy diner food, this is the place to go. The falafel burgers (you can make any burger with falafel) and any fried side (including pickles) will be a great. I just wish they still used fresh jalapenos like they used to; it's all canned now.

Clocked rocks! 1) It's BYOB and you just happen to be next door to a bar with to-go beer, so that is convenient; 2) TATER TOTS; 3) yummy soda flavors. They have all beef hotdogs and a huge burger selection....the only, only complaint I had is that when I was there they forgot our tatertots.....they arrived after our meal....like after we were done eating it. Oh well, it happens. If you are in the mood for diner style food that is cheap and really good, I highly recommend coming here.

It's pretty rare that I'm in the mood for a burger, but I knew that when the craving struck me I should try Clocked. I ordered the Scotty Boy cheeseburger, which came topped with muenster cheese, onion rings, and bbq sauce. The burger I received was topped with two small onion rings on a bun way too large for the small meat patty. Also, the server neglected to ask to what temperature I would like the burger cooked, and it came out medium well...a little too overdone for my tastes. I had also ordered a chocolate milkshake, which didn't arrive until my burger was on the table. I loved the decor; I just wish the food and service had been better!

For my 27th B-day I decided to drag the husband to Athens for a day trip. I had never been there before and all I knew about the town is it's where University of Georgia is and it has kick ass record shops. We spent most of our time walking around the downtown area looking for adventure. Well since it was the summer and we were all types of sweaty, we decided to cool off at the diner down the street. Clocked was a great find. The plastic toy dinosaurs outside of the restaurant were the signal that this place might be totally worthwhile. First off, Clocked has an amazing old school soda selection. You can get Nehi Grape Soda and Cheerwine!!! Plus they serve corndogs and tater tots. I do love me some corn dogs and tots. And try the tots with the cajun seasoning. They also has episodes of Ultraman playing. That's pretty fuckin' dope if you ask me.
(4)
Lindsay S.
Yeah, so I love this place. Where else can you get a decent corn dog, delicious french fries & a Shirley temple?!?! This place has a great retro feel and the service isn't all that bad. They used to have a killer philly cheesesteak but they replaced it with a turkey cheesesteak which I've yet to try. Definitely give this place a go.

Spent the weekend in Athens with friends celebrating my birthday, and this was one of the must go to places we hit. If you're an Athens local or know the town, you know beforehand that any attempt at parking conveniently is a waste of time, so we parked a few blocks away and made the hike. Got there right after 1pm and it was packed, every seat full. wait time was 15 minutes so we put our name in, but only after maybe 5 minutes we were inside and seated. It's a very cozy place, little, but loud, with people elbow to elbow you overhear everything around you. They no longer serve booze apparently but it is BYOB, something e would have liked to know before going in, but oh well. We each ordered a version of their burger and tots/fries of some kind and patiently waited for a usual amount of time, but it seemed longer since we were all starving. The food came out and looked great. The tater tots are the best I've had in a long time besides ones I cook at home (I crisp them up for a long time), not soggy and mushy, and the burger was really good, cooked medium, very flavorful. I was able to finish mine completely but the other three left a few bites, confirming the portions may have looked a bit small but were actually just right. Prices are a tad high for what you get, but it's an experience too so a few bucks doesn't hurt the bank that much. I aim to go back again soon.

After a 6 mile run during which I got caught in a thunderstorm and almost stepping on a big nasty snake, clocked was perfect. Their beverages were interesting and I wanted to try several things...milkshakes...old fashioned bottled sodas...draft root beer...Watermelon Lemonade. I ended up getting a Vanilla Shake. I had the peanut butter and bacon burger, a side of Tater Tots w/ raspberry-habanero ketchup. The huge basket of Tots came out first and even with 4 people at the table we were all fairly full after sharing! I ate half of my burger which was fantastic and took the rest home with me. Our waitress was adorable! She was sweet as can be, helpful and always had a big smile on her face. Great Meal, great waitress! Definitely coming back!

$7 for a teeny tiny Greek salad?! Excuse me, am I getting ripped off in the teeny tiny village of Athens, GA with its $2 beers, $8 steaks, $5 shows, and $7 movie tickets, or did I accidentally stumble back to New York City? Judging from the expanse of trees and the intense calm outside, methinks I'm still in Georgia. So what is the point of paying that much for a stupid salad? None, unless they're aiming for a bad Yelp review. Despite all that, Clocked has been my favorite burger place for a while. They earn my four stars, because they always know exactly what they're doing when it comes to big, juicy, fluffy patties and buns. Hidden between the sprawling organic fine dining Farm 255 and that quirky thrift store next door, it is the perfect little diner to grab a bite. And their fries, too, are the tastiest I've ever had. (EDIT: Tastiest in Athens, GA) Although the salad, splashed with a home made vinaigrette, was really good, too, it was definitely no better than right-down-the-street The Grit's amazing salads. So, unless you're a vegetarian, I suggest you try the best burgers of your life. And unless Clocked is trying to suddenly become a fine dining restaurant (and failin' miserably), it really needs to embrace its diner identity and jack down the greenery prices.

Clocked is awesome! You can tell that the owner cares about the place, since he is often there doing work in the kitchen himself. If an owner cares enough to be there, then he's gotta care about his customers! I always order the Friendship Burger with cheese.....sauteed mushrooms and onions, yum. Service is usually good and fast. I've never had a bad meal here. If you're looking for a good burger at a reasonable price in a place that exudes the Athens style, go to Clocked. A great local business to support!

Great burgers in a funky atmosphere. Feta sauce a la Athens, GA is the way to go here and any of the burgers are worth a try.

Located right next to the 40 Watt club, this is my favorite place in Athens to stop in for a bite to eat before a show. They have a quite varied menu that is veggie-friendly, though most of their selections seem to tend towards 50's style diner food with a modern twist. Burgers, pita sandwiches, tater tots and all kinds of cool side items, plus milkshakes, malts, weird desserts and so on. The menu is great for its willingness to be an adventure. A 5 star goes to their best menu item: the unassuming, PEANUT BUTTER BURGER. Yes, a cheeseburger with a fat layer of chunky PB. I wrinkled my nose at this when a friend said how good it was. I'm not that crazy of an eater. But one night I ended up here and wasn't so hungry, so I gave it a shot. PEANUT BUTTER IS THE MOST AMAZING TOPPING FOR A HAMBURGER EVER. There's something about the consistency and the mix of peanuts with the meat that takes the whole thing to a new level. I know, I didn't believe it either. Try it. Give 'er a go.

4-14-07 New management! New servers! You actually get your well-cooked food MINUTES after ordering it! And someone pays attention to you the second you walk in the door! I still can't give it 4 or 5 til I try it a couple more times--the past haunts me. 8-14-07: Dear Lord. How many times can a girl swear off Clocked!? I have yet to give it another try since a new guy started managing it a few months ago, but going to this place can take upwards of an hour and a half out of your day. But let's start with the good. The decor is fabulous--colorful, sparkly walls, gloriously tacky chandeliers, and awesome posters. The food is pretty good (but not amazing, in my opinion and many of my friends'), and the outdoor seating is a plus. The staff seem overwhelmed when the place is more than half-full. It can take a while to get your glasses of water, even longer to get your order taken, and then comes. the. waiting. for. the. food. The overpriced diner food. I just don't get what the big deal is. The Cajun fries are good, esp. if you order feta dressing--but let's face it, we're stealing that trick from The Grill, an honest-to-goodness diner around the corner. That one burger with blue cheese on it is quite tasty, but when you're ornery after waiting for 45 minutes it's hard to enjoy. And yes, this experience has repeated itself many times over. And no, I am far from the only one. So, sorry, Clocked! Maybe I'll try you again another time. When I have a lot of time. And a lot of faith. (P.S. As for their delivering--if you're at a nearby bar on Washington St., they'll take your food to you. You'll have to ask them how far they'll walk. That's pretty awesome.) 9-03-07: I went there again the other night, remembering this here review and thinking to myself, "I should give this place another chance. AGAIN." First exciting thing I noticed: they'd replaced the glaringly bright fluorescent lights in the funky overhead chandeliers with good old incandescents. I am an environmentalist at heart, but I'm also one for nice lighting and happen to be photophobic when it comes to fluorescents, so those lightbulbs meant I couldn't eat indoors before. Now the glaring white has been replaced by a warmer, softer color that makes the place as welcoming as it was before. Close call, folks, as the best thing going for this place is its atmosphere. Pretty yummy, overpriced grilled cheese. $3.75 for a medium-sized sandwich that was perfectly grilled--melted cheddar delight. But only a few slices, so the pieces of bread touched themselves if you squeezed the sandwich in the least. Not the best sign of a supa grilled cheese. The cajun tater tots were yummy but, ya know, tasted like frozen tater tots heated up in the oven instead of in the microwave. And the service was realllllllyyy realllyyy slow. Not like the other times I've gone, but it was pretty bad. Guy put his finger in our glasses as a means of carrying them (ew!), said the food would be "just another minute" when it was ten, and we were there for quite a while. Good thing I had nice conversation and a pretty dinnermate to look at. Clocked, you did it again, you vicious beast.

A lot of interesting blends on the menu, from burgers with unconventional toppings to well put together pastas and a number of vegetarian orders as well. Expect an awesome meal, just don't put too much stock in the staff and you won't be that disappointed--a friend put it best in saying that you can expect consistently excellent food with consistently poor service.

Burgers are great, but often the wait for the burger seems unreasonably long even when there are few other people in the restaurant. Their brownie sunday is also very good. Don't bother getting the seasoned fries vs. the regular fries. They charge you like 50 cents extra just for putting some seasoning on it.

Best burger place in Athens, hands down. Try the peanut butter burger, you wont be disappointed. If its good weather, they have some picnic tables beside the store to eat. Just be prepared to wait for a seat on busier nights. There is not much seating in the whole place.

This is one of the places I miss the most in Athens. Great atmosphere, outdoor and indoor seating, and away from all the fratties. It is Athens' answer to the Vortex. Any burger combination you can come up with, they can make it AND they will give you fantastic tater tots. As many have mentioned before me, service is iffy but its worth it!

My favorite place in Athens to get a hamburger, possibly my favorite all around to be perfectly honest. The bacon and feta burger is way worth the calories and the tator tots are the perfect side with feta dipping sauce of course. If you are in need of some solid greasy hangover food - this is your place, but service tends to be a little on the slow side.

A friend convinced me that Clocked was the place to go for a great burger. I would have to say that he was right on. Clocked doesn't exactly stand out in the downtown Athens scene with it neon diner sign, but if you stumble upon this gem you will not be disappointed. The old sci-fi movie atmosphere is a little strange but fun. The main dinning area is not very large, but there is a back room to accommodate larger parties. I had the blue cheese burger and it was really great, but you have to like blue cheese. The fries are some of the best I've had (especially with Cajun seasoning and feta). The only complaint that I have with Clocked is the service was definitely below par, but it is not unbearable.

I absolutely love this spot. The atmosphere is warm and inviting with that strange eclectic detail that makes for great conversation. You can sit there with your perfect green salad large enough to pay double what they charge, your partner across from you eating a gigantic burger with french fries and stare at the hanging decorations overhead, or the odd toys spattered throughout the place. Perfect spot to procrastinate, eat comfort food, or visit with friends without offending the people next to you. Its ridiculously cheap, so your expectations should match the price. The service sometimes fits the decor: sometimes friendly, sometimes ackward, sometimes relaxed. It is my favorite restaurant when I am in Athens!

clocked is awesome. from the tater tots on the menu, to the imported beer (czechvar, i'm looking at you) and the atmosphere...there's nothing not to love. even the art on display is usually worth at least two trips. the staff is generally few any time of day--service times when it gets packed can be a bit much. show up early if there's something going on nearby (40 watt, the morton...the west side of downtown). also, this is one of the best places to eat dinner before heading over to town & gown/athens community theatre--generally isn't as crowded as the grit tends to be.

I've lived in Athens for over six years and I have enjoyed the food at Clocked. I have never had a problem with the service. So, I moved away and I've recently moved back. I went to eat at Clocked because they have good burgers. I can honestly say I was very disappointed of my "new" experience. The burgers seems to have gotten smaller and tasteless. The tater tots, which were always good seemed very bland. Overall, the experience has left a bitter taste in my mouth. I haven't written the place off yet since I did get good burgers in the past and maybe it was just a localized bad experience.

Clocked is an interesting mix. It's the only restaurant I've known to pair diner-style furniture with a pseudo-Bohemian decor. And, when you walk in, the TV behind the bar will probably be showing something like an episode of the Thornbirds. The restaurant's eclectic atmosphere is certainly reflected in their menu options and creates an interesting impression on the first visit. You should definitely try the Peanut-butter and Bacon Hamburger, unless your a vegetarian, and if you are a vegetarian-- strangely enough--you would still be in luck because Clocked caters to both. They serve food fit for vegetarians alongside the greasy foods that most offend them. But do try the peanut-butter burger--think of it as Thai Peanut Sauce without the Thai. Also, for dessert, they have the biggest brownies that I've ever held, squished through the plastic wrap, and set back down on the counter. The daily specials are usually interesting as well, but the sweet potato fries are a little bland.

(4)Tom S.
(4)Nick F.
(4)Cassie B.
(4)Devin H.
Best burgers and shakes in a casual, funky atmosphere. Authentic Athens. I'm here at least once a week if I can.
(5)Ben M.
(2)Jill H.
The bacon, egg and grilled cheese was amazing. The service was great and received food quickly. Old school funky atmosphere. Great stop on our road trip!
(4)Wes C.
(5)Linh T.
A really great place for lunch. I loved their sweet potatoe fries! Burgers are definitely on the pricier side and it doesn't include sides but it the portion makes up for it. I was stuff and completely satisfied with my Australian beach burger. Nice selection of music as well.
(4)Mindy L.
(4)Diva J.

(1)Sofi G.
It you do not eat meat this is not the place for you. Clocked is a place you go for burgers. I ordered a falafel burger and it was not very good. Love the vibe and decor of the place.
(3)Licca K.
(/wï¼¼)
(4)Katherine K.
My favorite buger joint in Athens! The cajun fries are the bomb too.
(5)Raul B.
I really enjoyed Clocked. It was one of the only places I ate at in Athens, but when I go back I will FOR SURE eat there again.
(4)Steve K.
Pretty hit or miss--I've eaten there a few times; half the time, it was yummy, half the time kinda meh.
(3)Paul O.
(2)A R.
(4)Michelle T.
(5)Nikki R.
Awesome burgers, friendly staff. A Must when visiting Athens! Ask for Watermelon Lemonade and try the special sauces with your sweet potato fries! Meteor Burger is my favorite!
(4)Dennis J.
Ring of Fire burger was good, just no heat. My onion rings were 80% batter. The upside was the beer.
(3)Gregg M.
Had the basic cheeseburger... Very good. Very small place and imagine it gets really crowded
(4)Desiree S.
(5)Whitney G.
(3)Don K.
Great cheeseburger and especially like r the bun. Ordered onion rings too...big mistake. The batter was coming off and they were very greasy.
(3)Thomas S.
Ring of Fire burger on gf bun with sweet potato fries was excellent. Others also enjoyed their burgers and rings. The chicken sandwich was not quite as good.
(5)Thor N.
Great little burger joint! Small and intimate with outdoor seating as well. The burgers were good but for the price I would've liked for there to be a little more meat. Great flavor though. The Clocked! Secret sauce is pretty tasty as well. I will go back and try out more of the menu.
(4)Jennie C.
Fun atmosphere. Burgers are tasty with unique offerings. Service can be hit or miss. Never rude but slow. The Veggie Frites were not impressive - greasy but with no batter. Stick to the burgers and you'll be happy.
(3)Bradley T.
(4)Meredith R.
My husband raved about a peanut butter bacon burger he recently had in Virginia... Lo and behold, it was on the menu at Clocked. Eh --(I'm more of a purist.) Clocked offers a variety of burgers on seeded rolls and yes, they look good. I however chose a falafel sandwich. Usually made from little balls of fried chickpeas, this was a flat patty, nicely seasoned and quite good. The three of us shared a couple of sides: tater tots which tasted like, um... tater tots, and fried vegetables, which were just sautéed asparagus spears and carrots. (I'm not quite sure what we were expecting from the vegetables). While I wouldn't put Clocked (which calls itself a diner) on my must-go-to list, I wouldn't balk about returning. My one suggestion to management: time the sides to come out with the mains. Ours arrived at least ten minutes early, which we didn't appreciate.
(3)Maya U.
(4)Daniel C.
Fantastic burgers but average and over priced add-ons make this a place I wouldn't go back to. Went in for dinner on a Sunday and service was incredibly slow. The burgers themselves were great but my chocolate malt and sweet potato fries were disappointing for the price.
(3)Mary R.
Pretty tasty burgers. Kinda dry though. I've had the feta burger and the burger with jelly. They have good onion rings. Pricing and service are ok. I like the atmosphere and they have outside seating and are dog friendly.
(4)Brandon C.
(1)Thom W.
(4)Duane F.
(5)Brett A.
We were so excited to try Clocked but weren't really impressed. While the menu has an extensive selection the different burgers and fries we tried were just so-so. Nothing was amazing and our waitress seemed less than attentive. It wasn't horrible but probably wont go back.
(3)Lauren S.
(4)Dr T.
(5)Annie L.
(3)Rachel W.
Takes a little while to get your food, but the burgers are so good it's worth it. Especially the burger with peanut butter. Only thing I wish they would change is to include fries when you order a burger instead of charging you extra.
(4)Lauren B.
Really cool atmosphere. Great bacon cheeseburger and fries. So glad to stumble upon.
(5)Bola O.

(4)Pam L.
(2)Jeremy A.

(2)Jon M.
(5)Ash B.
Christine, Christine, Christine! Best service from the most adorable lady. All her recs we're awesome: sp fries, cheese cajun tator tots, mushroom swiss burg (gf bread)! Will come again.

(2)Sophia T.

(3)Robby N.

(4)Lisa K.
(4)Hannah A.
Good variety of burgers and lots of fun things on the menu! Clocked uses fresh ingredients and offers all of its burger combinations with a veggie patty. The last time I went, my roommate got Watermelon Lemonade, and we haven't stopped talking about it since!
(4)Heather S.
(4)Wendy W.
A quirky yet fun place to have a burger with friends! Try the peanut butter and bacon, as well as the sweet potato fries, they are amazing! Their small dining place always packed with people, so plan your visit as early as possible.
(4)Charlotte M.
Good burgers - cool vibe -- and I'm happy that you can now get a single order of onion rings (rather than the $5 basket like it used to be).
(4)Jennifer B.
(2)Vivian W.

Great! The best hamburger I never have before.
(5)Eric C.

(5)Robert R.

(2)Martha M.
Definitely a little cramped in there, but the line was really short and the food came right out! I ordered a grilled cheese with bacon and it was absolutely amazing! The servers were nice and although it was pretty loud, I would definitely go back again and order something new!
(4)Holly B.

(1)Jonathon V.
A very unique restaurant that is always crowded whenever I go. They serve a large assortment of unique burgers, including one with peanut butter. My only real problem is that you have to pay for fries separately.
(4)Shawn M.

(4)David R.
Good stuff.
(4)Jake G.
Great burger! You've gotta try their sweet potato fries!
(4)Greg W.
(4)Stephen M.

*drool
(3)DD R.
(4)douglas b.
This place is a great little burger joint. I have eaten about 7 different dishes and they were all pretty dam good. It's cheap, no frills, good eats.
(4)Evelyn C.
(4)Lara A.
(5)Joe R.
(4)Kevin M.
(4)Ryan O.
(5)Bryan B.
A staff member here stole something of mine that was left at the restaurant. Management said they would refund the price of the stolen item. They did not. I was shocked at clocked. The food is so-so and the staff is unable to handle basic customer service. Clocked should be mocked.
(1)Rope R.
(5)Melissa T.
(2)Sean O.
(3)Monica C.
meh. This place had high reviews, so I was looking forward to it. Tastes like 5 guys but more expensive because it's not a chain. The grill is better. The "delta" (cole) slaw was blah. Don't really recommend.
(3)Dani P.
