Great omelet! Nice pecan pancakes and the potato pancakes were good too. Everything is fresh. Very good breakfast choice. Bacon was also very good. Went early. There was a line when we came out. Very popular!

We came for a late brunch with one guest in a wheelchair. They put us in a booth, adding a chair at the end (the booth too high to fit a wheelchair) looking around after being seated, there was a spacious 4 top - go figure. Service was slooooooow. At a nearby table, two servers were talking up an older couple, obvious regulars. Food is good, but not sure merits the luxury price. Chocolate chip pancakes were fluffy and good, but needed more chocolate. Pecan pancakes were yummy. Spinach omelet was so so. Bland. The pecan waffle was not very big, but the waffle itself tasty. The pecans poured on top had a slight metallic taste which comes from sitting in a bag for too long. The syrup was watery and more like sugar water than syrup. A good maple syrup would have helped elevate the pancakes and waffle. Coffee was strong, which was how we like it. For the price, not worth it.

Absolutely love this place! Definitely try the coconut pancakes. I only use the tropical syrup because they are packed with flavor. The omelette's are massive and they come with a side of pancakes so if you're not famished, I suggest splitting it someone. The western Also a must try is the Dutch Baby and the Cherry crepes. Disclaimer: This place is a mad house on weekends so expect a 20-30 minute wait...but so worth it.

After hearing so many good things about this restaurant for brunch, I decided to try it! Unfortunately it didn't meet my expectations. We came here on a Sunday around noon and got a table within ten minutes which was a great start! We sat and ordered. I asked our waitress if it was possible to put pecans in the banana pancake mix. She quickly said "no, you could get banana pancakes with a side of pecans or pecan pancakes with a side of freshly sliced bananas. If the pancakes are made fresh to order, why can't they add pecans to a small bowl of the banana pancake mix? When the banana pancakes came out, the pecans weren't even on the plate yet. She came over minutes later to deliver the small portion of pecans to sprinkle on top. Even though the banana pancake plate came with 6 pancakes, there was barely any bananas in it. They didn't really have much taste. They came with a tropical homemade syrup. It tasted like a type of lemon cleaner. The waitress said she hears that complaint a lot and was willing to give me a different flavored syrup, apple. It was a lot better! I also ordered a side of two scrambled eggs with chopped onion. I'm not sure how, but the eggs had no flavor either. In fact, they either tasted like PAM spray or a type of grease spray that was put on the pan. Not sure if they were not real eggs or they just needed some seasoning. You can tell from the photo (maybe it was undercooked?). The other people at my table had a monster omelet! The size of it was amazingly big and impressive. For $12, they should be that big! Maybe the restaurant was having an off day but unfortunately I don't recommend this brunch restaurant.

We had the Dutch Baby and Spanish Omelette. The omelette is HUGE and ended up taking half home. The Dutch Baby was a yummy fluffy surprise and the best dish we enjoyed there. Tip#1: download the NoWait app and get in line before you leave (you'll easily save your party a 15 minute wait) Tip#2: there is a Scoutmob deal for 50% (max $10)

Your average original pancake house experience. There is always a huge wait here which is a bit odd for me given how many breakfast places there are around here. They do have an app which makes it so you can check into the line from home and just leave when there's a few people ahead of you and that helps significantly. The food here is good and they have a good variety. The portions are insane so we usually end up sharing an entree and sides of fruit amongst three people (all be it one is a baby but still lol) Service is usually good and the restaurant is pleasant enough. I don't think I'd go well out of my way to come here, but if you live nearby and want a good pancake, this is a solid option.

Good hearty breakfasts! Like that they offer fresh squeezed OJ and GJ - did a mix of both. For my meal I had the Spanish Omeltte. Lots of mushrooms and a nice red sauce with olives. Made it better by adding some ground sausage. For the three pancakes that are included, upgraded to the peach topping.

New to the area, and told that the pancakes were some of the best other than his mom's by Bill, we decided to splurge and have some breakfast for lunch. At 11:30 on a Wednesday, there were plenty of tables and booths available. One of our party was a little behind us, but they seated us and took our drink orders anyway. I chose the The Fried Egg Salad (3 strips of bacon and 2 fried eggs over a bed of mixed greens tossed with vinaigrette and croutons. Going for lunch we all wanted pancakes, but couldn't actually bring ourselves to order that as our meal. So instead, we got one order of the buttermilk pancakes for all at the table to share. The fried egg salad was exactly as the menu described, though there were many more croutons than I wanted, so I left a pile on the plate. The server even mentioned that she thinks they put way to many on the salad. The pancakes were thinner than I expected but fluffy and spongy the way pancakes should be. Server was friendly and helpful, proactively thinking of things we needed. Space feels a little old, particularly compared to so many new and modern spots on Windward.

The food here is good, I will admit. The complaint I have is that it is way too pricey. I had a strawberry waffle and that alone was over $10, which I don't understand because the charged an additional for sliced strawberries 1.80 and that was not explained in the menu- you had a choice of frozen or sliced. My hubby had sausage and eggs and a small OJ, and we each had an iced tea. Our total bill for two was 36 bucks. The bill really diminished our experience. Our server, Karen, was great- polite and attentive. When all is said and done, we probably won't go back - there are other places that offer breakfast at much more reasonable prices.

This is one of my favorite places for breakfast. Great service and a great selection of hearty breakfasts to choose from. Their pico de gallo side is a great choice to add to your eggs to spice them up a bit. I love crispy bacon and here they do it right. This place also offers freshly squeezed OJ and grapefruit juice. Great option to bring your in town guests.

Wish I could do a 3.5 star - I'm not quite at a full 4 for this. So, my cousin suggested this place and it was near our hotel, my daughter and I were craving waffles. The place itself reminds me of IHOP (gasp, that might have offended someone). We were seated immediately - it was a Thursday afternoon. I ordered the blueberry waffle, my daughter got the bacon one. Both were AWESOME. Very good flavor and consistency and their syrup was just the right 'shade' of sweet. The bacon and sausage we got to go with it was tasty too. All around it hit the spot. The menu raves about their 'special' coffee, so I ordered that too, but meh.... give me Starbucks anyday, I was not impressed even though it was okay. When I go back to Alpharetta I will visit again for sure, I want to try their Dutch Baby, which is another rave on the menu and in some other reviews I read. The only other deduction I can think of is service, our waitress seemed distracted - I actually had to stand up and flag her down twice which was a bit annoying......

This place is a mixed bag for me, but like a lot of places, once you figure out what they do well it's worth going. We LOVE the Dutch baby, or if we're really hungry, its big brother the German. These are basically a popover batter poured into a skillet and baked till it puffs up, large enough to share. Add butter, lemon juice and powdered sugar (skip the maple syrup!) and you'll be hooked. We always get it with a side of eggs and bacon (thick cut, crispy and better than most places) and share the whole thing. I got the pancakes once and for me they were a little yeasty. I've seen omelettes come out and they are massive, but haven't tried them. They use whole cream for your coffee, which is a big plus for me. Ambiance...well, it could use improvement. Last time we joked that they couldn't have made the plywood painted black booths any cheaper. It would be nice if they were padded. Sound system? Not unless you consider the always classic rock coming from the kitchen their sound system. We tried lunch for the first time and I just have to say either do it right or not at all. The Pastrami on Swiss was like a Rueben gone seriously wrong. They fried the Pastrami (what?!). It was almost crunchy it was so dry. I asked for a side of 1000 Island but they only had Ranch, Italian and blue cheese so I took the Ranch. Might have been homemade but was a bland blob of white; had to pass. My pal got the grilled cheese with bacon and tomato...also dry with minimal cheese. He asked for fries but they don't do fries, only mushy breakfast potatoes with onion. The side of fruit that comes with the sandwiches was made fresh (strawberries, grapes and bananas) and very good. We won't be back for lunch, but will continue coming for the Dutch Baby breakfast.

I got the western omelet with swiss cheese and subbed the home fries for the pancakes . My boyfriend got the bacon waffle . Our server, jacobi was very nice and friendly and always made sure our waters were full which deeply appreciate since I used to be a server and I hate when my water runs out ! Overall a great experience. The host was also very nice, I don't think I got his name but he looked to be about 16 maybe ? Idk . But I will definitely be back ! Thank you jacobi!!

So it's been 4 years and I used to frequent the one downtown, but visiting ATL with my husband for a wedding this weekend and I had to take him to TOPH. I thought this location look new and swanky compared to the divey diner I used to live by. We were greeted by the hostess and given a 10-15 minute wait time. They let you know via text when your table is ready - love the modern approach. Another hostess reapproached us about 3 minutes later saying she had a two top table if we'd like it- um of course! Our server was friendly and though they were busy he kept up with the pace. Our coffee was always warmed and fresh. I ordered the bacon omelet and my husband the sausage egg plate. All so good and we didn't have to wait a super long time though the menu does give you a heads up when ordering omelets that it could take a little longer. BTW it was HUGE. I gave my husband half and I still couldn't finish the whole things. And I swear the pancakes that came with it were the most light fluffy best pancakes I've ever had. Hands down. We sat in a table up front right by the counter great people watching and everyone working was hustling. Loved our breakfast. I already want to go back again!

While I have worked in this area for a lot of years, not once had I set foot into this place. On this particular Saturday, I was having my vehicle serviced, and the wife and I decided to venture in. It was extremely early, so there were no crowds. The hostess sat us in a booth along the front window - seems that's where they were seating everyone that morning, but the booth was to straight-backed and the table felt like it was directly under my chin. So the wife moved to a table and I followed. Our server was prompt and polite. Coffee and water were flowing quickly. The wife ordered up a stack of buckwheat pancakes with a side of bacon while I went with scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes, and a short stack upgrade from buttermilk to buckwheat. Our server brought us warmed syrup which was a nice touch. The food came out blazingly fast and everything was delicious. The bacon was thick-cut as some here have described. The eggs were cheesy and scrambled just right. The potatoes were just meh, but I am a home fries snob. The buckwheat pancakes, while not nearly as good as Thumbs Up Diner, were pretty good. This definitely a place to which we will return when over this way.

I'm torn about my review for this place... Service is very hit or miss, I have experienced some super and some terrible service here. Debby is an awesome server, so ask for her if she's there The biggest, most important thing I can say about the Original Pancake House is that it is FREEZING in here. It is remarkably cold and uncomfortable when you couple the temp with the crowd and the uber-sticky tables. The whole place needs to be heated up and thoroughly cleaned. You stick to every surface. Food is always slow to come but when u does it will blow you away.

I've been here, to this location a couple of times now for business breakfast, and only because someone else was paying for it and it was mandatory to show up. But the last time was just, well, it was not good. The tables were sticky. I get the fact that they serve syrup, but it's not an excuse for not cleaning tables properly. For a table of 10, they only provided two syrup dispensers. Most folks at the table had coffee. They only provided two of those little single serve dispensers of milk/cream. Two folks at the table didn't have their sides of bacon served. Two egg orders were wrong. My pecan pancakes were just, meh (nothing to order again or some back for). This location doesn't offer some of the flagship items like the 'Tahitian Maiden's Dream' crepes that other locations offer. The worst part though was the service; no smiles, attitude issues, orders wrong (clear it was wait staff's fault), drinks and syrups were empty. Wouldn't go back and would not recommend.

I don't usually write comments establishments, but I thought this was important enough for everyone to read... I attended this establishment this morning (a party of 6). During my 1 1/2 hours at breakfast we received staggered food delivery over 15 minutes. After we were done eating, the waiter brought us a check without asking if we wanted anything else. We sat there for 15 minutes talking and then were approached by the MANAGER and asked to LEAVE because they had another party who needed the table. This is inexcusable in my eyes. Very disappointed. Apparently moving tables is more important than customer service.

Will agree with many of the other yelpers who are saying it's a bit pricey. The food was delicious though! Can't say much about the menu because I got a traditional breakfast, but the pancakes were fluffy and the OJ tasted very fresh!

The food here is good. However, the service SUCKS! Most waitresses, especially one of the older women, feel some sort of entitlement to be rude and aggressive to people. The manager, Josh, doesn't seem to care when you complain about how poor the service is. In fact, he will come back with any type of excuse to justify why the service is so bad. I think this guy, Josh, needs to take a couple of refreshers on customer service and understand that just because the food is decent the business requires customer service. I am in the process of contacting the ownership of this place to bring this to their attention. I hope they do something about it!

I would definitely consider $4.30 for 11 oz of OJ a bit steep, and the pricing for everything else is about in line with that. Price aside, the portions are large, the food is great, and so was the service. They always seem to have a $10 for $20 Groupon deal going, and that's what I did. Overall, I wouldn't be interested in paying $20+ for my steak and eggs w/ OJ and Coffee, but for $10 + tip, I'd do it all day. Grab a Groupon and check them out!

The food here is generally pretty reliable - not amazing, but very good. The omelettes are enormous - be warned! They can easily be split by 2+ people or divided into 2 or more meals. Pancakes are delicious, naturally, and the crepes are tasty as well. I especially like the buckwheat pancakes, as they can be a hit-or-miss item depending on where you go. I've never tried any non-breakfast items here so I can't speak to that aspect of the menu. Generally there is a VERY long wait in the mid-to-late morning and early afternoon hours. There were several times where we attempted to eat there and gave up due to the wait time and the lack of adequate space for the waiting area - many people outside, etc. I did go this past weekend at ~8:00am on Saturday, and it was empty then. I find the prices to be somewhat higher than typical breakfast places, leading to my 4-star rather than 5-star rating.

"He who goes to bed hungry dreams of pancakes." Maltese proverb Am I really going to give The Original Pancake House a three star rating? Yup. There are some things in life that the thoughts of are always better than the actual experience. This is true for me in the case of The Original Pancake House. I wake up hungry for it, but it never lives up to my dreams. Food and service are a bit inconsistent at this location, with a heavier leaning toward not so good. On my last visit I ordered a spinach omelet. It was made with six eggs, which is cool, but came out dry and overcooked. I added Tabasco not just for flavor, but in an attempt at re-hydration. I also love the fact that they have fresh squeezed orange juice, but hate that they charge over $3.50 for a thimble of it. I definitely could have used more to wash down the omelet. The pancakes here are great, but not anything out of the ordinary with the exception of the signature Apple Pancake. The butter served with the pancakes is very good. The syrups are done well, the toppings are good, but not generous. The whipped cream, which is extra, is great. At one time The Original Pancake House had the best coffee anywhere. It is still a good cup, but comparable to most other breakfast spots. As others have mentioned, The Original Pancake House is pricey. Breakfast for two with juice and coffee will set you back $30 easy. While the ingredients are better quality, the environment, service, and actual meal do not warrant the higher cost. Will I be back? probably. In MY dreams!

They have coffee (served with whole cream), AMAZING gluten free pancakes (with real maple syrup), massive omelettes, great service, good value. I am going to come back just to get coffee and a stack of gluten free pancakes.

Unless you love pancakes, stay away! Service is horrible, prices are inflated and back if the restaurant is dirty. Food is mediocre, small glass of OJ is over $4! Give me IHOP anytime!

Always a delight!! Been coming her for years!!! After being here,IHOP is gross! It's like Walmart compared to Macy's. Everything is real no preservatives! Real cream, real butter, fresh squeezed juices! Today I had a bacon omelet and chic chip pancakes. Food came out so quick! Delish!

This place is hands down the BEST restaurant for breakfast I have ever been to!! Not only is the food incredible with huge portions, but the service was excellent, as well. I went with a party of 7 and waited about 25 minutes, which isn't bad. I've waited that long or longer for a sub par experience at other restaurants. Totally worth the wait! We ALL LOVED it!! I have found my new fave place for breakfast!!

Not The greatest experience at this location. Placed an order waited 30 for the order to come out entirely incorrect after waiting in line for 30mins. The hostess Natalia was very friendly and helpful. There is a sense of wickedness in the air when I scurries to order scrambled eggs and toast with two coffee and the price still reached over 30 greenbacks.

I have eaten at this chain many times over many years, all over the country. I enjoy the food, the coffee and the service. This one, however, misses every single mark. The servers are sloppy in appearance, with ill- fitting uniform shirts/pants and their aprons are dirty and wrinkled. We were seated beside an intrusively noisy ice machine and we could see into the not super clean prep area. The restaurant has concrete floors--not polished concrete--and dirty walls. Not one employee looked happy. The food was served fast and it was nicely plated. It did not taste the same as any of the other Original Pancake Houses I have been to. The mushroom sherry sauce, for which the chain is known, had one slice of mushroom and no detectable sherry. The Eggs Michael was a huge disappointment. The pecan pancakes were good but not the same full flavor I have tasted before. One teeny ball of whipped butter accompanied the full plate of pancakes. Needless to say, this place does not deserve to be included in the chain until the management gets a clue.

It's what you expect for a mid-priced breakfast. My family and I visited this location this morning for breakfast after buying a Groupon discount. We were able to get a table fairly quickly. The waitstaff, food, and prices were all average. I guess you could compare it to being in between a waffle house and IHOP. The table cards wanted to claim the food as being more healthy and of a higher quality, but there is only so much one can do to eggs, pancakes, and bacon. I couldn't taste or see a difference. The breakfast potatoes were terrible! The environment, Decor, floors, and tables are all just a bit awkward....like they don't flow together, but comfortable. We will be back, because most of the food was decent, it is in a good location, and prices are normal.

Ihop who? Georgia pecan pancakes with warm syrup! The syrup is delicious! Always ask for extra butter. Farm fresh eggs cooked just right. It gets busy on Sunday but worth the wait for me. Always a great experience for breakfast. They usually have a Groupon available.

I LOVE Original Pancake House! The food is always fresh and cooked to order. They have the best omelette anywhere, but the Crepes are also so good. They also have fresh squeezed orange juice every day. Their hot chocolate with fresh whipped cream is one of my favorite things on Earth, especially when the weather turns cold. The food portions are generous so come hungry or bring someone who can share a meal. Just get here early or there will be a wait. But they have free wifi so you can Yelp or Facebook while you wait. Also they close at 3:00 p.m. daily.

The food was good but the service...not so much. I ordered a coffee and when the waitress brought the fresh creamer pot, she spilled it on the table and on my sweater. She apologized and said she'd bring a towel. When she came back she passed by me and took drinks to another table! My boyfriend got upset and asked her if he could just have the towel to clean it up himself. She said "I'll be right there, let me drop off a check to another table" Umm seriously! I'm sitting here with creamer everywhere! And she never brought me more creamer. He wanted to leave at that moment but I convinced him to calm down. I really wanted to try the food. From that point she seemed visibly nervous because she could tell we were unhappy with her service. I ordered the pecan pancakes. They were good but for the prices and mediocre service, this will probably be my last visit.

My folks and I went (I have been to the in-town location and loved it) and our usual before-Costco place was closed). Holy hell. We about crapped when we saw the prices (and when dad gets grumpy, look out!). We thought 'what the heck....). I went to culinary school.. I could make triple (the better) food for the horrific prices they charge. For the prices at least use some pizzazz serving. This stuff looks plopped on a plate. No frills, nothing (I think Waffle House has more heart). Also the decore? Please, go to the dollar store, get something! The booths are horrible (do you get a discount?) tables and chairs are MUCH better. The Cheshire Bridge location has a nice intown charm, this is about as sterile and dull as you get. Service? A big big yawn. Maybe a smile? a Hello? I won't be back- for the price$ I could eat twice at many of the (over priced- this IS North Atlanta) places nearby (surely there is a waffle house or boring chain near-by. Even the 'fruit salad' had no soul. Don't go, you can hit McDonalds 4 or 5 (or 10) times for the money. (oh, one thing- thanks for the laughter- months later when we drive by, we STILL laugh about your 'restaurant'!!!) Oh! Rule of thumb- if there are using GROUPON, then there is a PROBLEM HERE. (a great place doesn't need a groupon, they have enough customers!)

I went here for lunch today. I was craving an omelette and decided to try them out. I looked up the menu on their website and it sounded good. The place was FREEZING. Uncomfortably cold and I had to keep my jacket on the whole time. The service was ok. The food was pretty good. I got the ham and cheese omelette. When I cut into it, it seemed like they hadn't cooked it all the way as my plate filled with a gooey mixture came out. I decided to eat the outside as I knew that part was done and I could always heat it back up and finish cooking the middle later at home but eventually the mixture solidified so it was mostly likely majority cheese. It was freaking HUGE. As was the check. My check was $14.28 (had water to drink) and with tip it was almost $18. I couldn't possibly justify ever going back to pay $18 for lunch. But at least I have an omelette to eat on for the next three days.

This was my second time visiting TOPH, and I only went because I got the Groupon. The first time, I didn't know what I was getting myself into and was unpleasantly surprised when I got the bill. Trying to avoid the after-church crowd, we arrived at 10:50am and was told there was a 25 minute wait for a party of 2. So we waited. And waited. Then we waited some more. I think the gentlemen working the host stand was new, because he seemed very frazzled. There were people being seated who just got there and people waiting would complain. A couple times I saw the gentlemen admit he forgot some parties of people. Yikes! After 30 minutes of waiting, one of the servers seating people said, "Y'all have been waiting a long time, come on." I'm not sure if we were next or if someone was to be seated in front of us. Our server was at our table in a few moments, but unfortunately, the place was so packed that I couldn't hear her. Luckily my husband did and he ordered our drinks for us. Looking at the menu, I saw that not much, if anything, has changed. As one other review states, the fresh-squeezed OJ is amazing, but it's pricey for the serving. One "large" fresh-squeezed OJ was upwards of $5. For that price, we could bought 2 gallons of OJ. But alas, we love the fresh-squeezed-ness, so we threw budget to the wind and ordered. I ordered the egg special with two turkey sausage patties and it came with three buttermilk pancakes ($9.65). My husband ordered the egg special with Hormel Black Label bacon and three buttermilk pancakes ($9.65). I ordered my eggs sunny-side up and his scrambled with Swiss cheese. While we waited, we noticed that the restaurant never lulled. People were coming and going the whole time. At no time were the tables surrounding us empty for very long. As soon as someone left, bussers immediately descended on the table like a vulture descending on its prey. As soon as the last dish was removed, someone was being seated. 5-7 minutes later our food arrived! Talk about quick! I think our server understood that I couldn't hear her, so she made hand motions asking if I wanted refills. She brought over lemons, syrup and extra napkins as requested. She was also very quick to remove dishes that weren't being used. Presentation isn't essential here. My plate was two eggs and two turkey sausage patties. Then a smaller separate plate for the pancakes. The sausage was realllly good. It didn't taste like turkey sausage. I almost asked if she had mixed up and gave me normal sausage. But maybe the turkey sausage was so good I couldn't taste the difference? My eggs were pretty standard, both sunny-side up. I had to doctor it with some salt and pepper. I transplanted the pancakes onto my "main" plate so everything was on the same plate, then I drenched everything in syrup. The syrup, to me, is too watery for my taste. I prefer the thicker, almost molasses style syrup, but this was much more liquid-y. However, it is served hot, which I appreciate. I inhaled my food. No talking. No coming up for air. I consumed everything in a matter of minutes. I even finished before my husband! I'm usually the slowest eater at the table but not this day. I was so hungry that I would have eaten anything that fast, so I don't think it was because of the quality. The pancakes are touted by TOPH to be made from scratch everyday and very authentic. That may be true, but their buttermilk pancakes tastes like normal pancakes to me. There was no "wow" factor. They came out hot with a side of partial-melted butter. The pancakes were good, but not worth paying $7 for a stack of three. They do, however, have "special" pancakes, with apples, bacon, blueberries and other stuff. The first time I came here I had the apple pancakes and it blew my mind, both in quality and quantity. My husband's bacon was very good. The Hormel Black Label bacon is mouth-watering. Is it bad that I suddenly want a Hormel Black Label Bacon candle? Long, crispy strips of bacon paired well with his pancakes. He wish he didn't opt for Swiss cheese, though. It tasted "weird" to him. Before the Groupon, the total was ~$26. After the Groupon, the total was ~$6 + tip for the original amount. Overall, decent, but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit.

Recently visited the Alpharetta location of the OPH. This is my second time eating at an OPH. The service was great and the food was delicious. A little pricey with Cracker Barrel nearby, but the food and presentation was great. I ordered the banana pancakes and was shocked to see 6 large pancakes with tropical syrup make their way to the table. They were delicious, but to much for me. I ate my usual 4 pancakes and had to leave the others behind. More information from the waiter or menu about the quantity of the meal would be great, but overall not a huge deal. Overall, great dining experience with great food.

They have fresh-squeezed juice and omelets the size of your head. Need I say more? They have a HUGE variety of incredibly, yummy pancakes. Still not satisfied? Options are endless.Seriously. I've been a couple times and always ordered something different -- that alone should speak volumes. On my latest trip, my mom and I decided to split the Omelet, which comes with a side of pancakes, which can be upgraded to ANY of the the specialty pancake options!!! Say what!? Done! And as far as other breakfast items go, I can tell you that the wheat germ pancakes are surprisingly good, the peach pancakes are top notch, and the house eggs benedict with gravy is GINORMOUS and heavy (and yummy), so order it if you are starving or planning to get a couple meals out of it!

This was the first time we had eaten here and we're so glad we did! Everything we had was delicious! The sourdough pancakes were amazing!! Can't wait to go again next time we're in Alpharetta.

Food was at best OK, service was below that level. Prices.... Well for the prices they are asking you would expect better in both the food and service. My recommendation is to go one exit further north and go to BB's.

Kinda of funny that my gps brought me literally to cracker barrel. Their location isn't that easy to see from the road or even find (located next to Thai Square). Had the corn beef hash, which was ok. Service was good. Worth a trip if you can find them

Great food and good service. The ingredients used are always fresh and never disappoints. Just get here early or your wait will be 45 mins or more.

The food was good I got the fruit bowl blueberry pancakes bacon and home fries she brought out my pancakes first and made me feel bad I had to eat them in front of my friend brunch proceeded to go bad as he told me I needed a new place to live I'm full and happy

We won't be back. We've eaten here 4-5 times and it's always pricey but the food is good, if I'm in the mood for pancakes this WAS my place. This morning I visited with my husband. We were given a table immediately but no server for nearly ten minutes. When one finally came over I was informed they would not serve me banana chocolate chip pancakes, even though they have chocolate chip pancakes and banana pancakes, they refused to mix the ingredients. I was really in the mood for my childhood favorite breakfast. Totally disappointed. We left and won't be back. If you're on the fence I recommend J. Christopher's - super friendly staff there that are eager to please with prompt service.

Best sit down breakfast joint in the area. Great coffee, fresh o.j. , excellent service, thick slice Bacon. etc, etc... Get the 49er flap jacks with the dutch baby setup. Downside? It is pricey for a family of four.

The food was not that great as I had hoped for. The price was ridiculous. I ordered a large OJ and it was almost 5 bucks. It was suppose to be fresh squeezes but it didn't look nor taste any different than regular store bought. It cost 40 bucks to eat there for 2 people for breakfast which is way too high considering we could eat at Cracker Barrel for 20. Was not impressed and will not be back.

Fresh, homemade whipped cream. Fresh squeezed orange juice. And that's just for starters! The "O" as it's been come to known, buys local fresh ingredients, like eggs, and uses these to make the most wonderful breakfasts. I have been coming to the "O" for over 10 years, and one only has to see the line out the door during weekend breakfast/lunch to know that this is a very popular eatery. On this visit, I introduced my wife, who is a restaurant manager in her own right, to the Original Pancake House, and after the experience, she said, "We *will* be coming back." I think that says it all.

The best pancakes!!! I've been here a few times and each time it's been great. It gets busy on the weekends so expect a wait. Service has always been great.

I got a Groupon for this restaurant and brought my two young children there. I ordered one of their signature dishes, crepes stuffed with a sour cream mixture with fruit on top. They were very good. The strawberry syrup that came with them was a great added touch. The kids meals left a lot to be desired. One child ordered the grilled cheese sandwich and it appeared dry. My other child ordered the Mickey Mouse Pancake which was pretty small. The kids' meals were $3.99 and did not come with drinks. Their drinks were $2.25 each. I did not get a drink. I got a side order of bacon for the kids. So 1 adult meal, 2 kids meals and 1 side of bacon and 2 drinks were over $30. The service was good, and most of the food was good, but it cost way too much for what we received.

Ohhh pancakes how I love thee. Soo soo much. There is a reason they are the OG of pancakes... they know what they are doing and do it deliciously well. They offer a wide variety of options. They have about 12 different kinds of pancakes with assorted topping ( bacon pancakes- pure genius) The prices are reasonable and you get a large portion of food. This past go round was probably the best service we have ever received there. and i feel like a jerk not remembering her name to give her a shout out. Half off depot puts up deals for them off and on throughout the year and i LOVE them! This place is absolutely worth it.

Not the friendly place in the world, not sure but it was the OMG experience our guest had described. I would say MIMI's in Buford at the Mall of GA is fare better!

Food and sevice was good but almost $9 for the smallest side dish of corned beef hash I have had anywhere in the country. Some of their prices are on the high side to the point of being insulting. Don't think I'll be going back.

This is one of my husband's fave breakfast spots. He loves a good omelette and quite honestly I don't think I've seen one bigger! It takes a little while for it to cook but it's well worth it. He's always pleased. I don't really have a favorite dish here because I'm usually in a bit sticker shocked. It's spendy, especially for family breakfast. The pancakes are delicious. Kids always rave that it's much better than IHOP. So, we go because it's worth it.

I really love breakfast food but...yikes. Prices are high, and food isn't memorable at all. The spinach omelette was dry and not flavorful. However, I'll have to give props to the pancakes it came with (3 buttermilk) with the tropical syrup...mmm mmm good. Personally, I found the portions not huge. I finished everything and was hungry for more. $30 for breakfast isn't gonna fly with me. Yay for pancakes but yikes for price!

This place is too expensive for what you get. Please lower your prices and I'll return.

For how much this place costs, to refuse to do a simple customization to accommodate food allergies (not even with an upcharge) is reprehensible. I get better service at McDonalds. I will not be wasting my money here in future. I would give zero stars for the horrible service if I could.

Yes, it's expensive for a breakfast place, and yes the wait on weekends is insane (I don't even bother trying anymore on weekends). But the food is delicious and the quality is very high. There is also enough food to provide for multiple breakfasts--I can never finish my meal. I just had their pumpkin pancakes (they are seasonal) and they were very good--pumpkiny, spicy, with a side of fresh whipped cream. The bacon is thick cut and cooked to perfection. Coffee is great. I've had their peach pancakes and pigs in a blanket before--everything has always been great. I think you get what you pay for--the food here is a much better quality, and they use fresh, while ingredients. The orange juice, for example, is completely fresh squeezed and there's some ridiculous number of oranges that go into each glass, so the price makes sense. Service is good. Really nothing to complain about. Whenever I get a pancake urge and decide to just load up on carbs, this place is perfect. Kids love it too, by the way. I would absolutely avoid this place on weekends--it turns into a whole different animal. I've never been willing to wait for 90 minutes or whatever for breakfast. But on weekdays, this place is great.

Love the pancakes and bacon! The omelets are huge, enough for 2 people to share. Customer service has always been great for my husband and I. It can get pretty crowded on weekend mornings so take advantage of their early bird special.

Original Pancake House is one of my favorite places for a weekend breakfast. The Dutch Baby is to die for....the omelets are huge (6 eggs), baked, light, fluffy....and their bacon is thick, tasty, and perfectly done. The service here is always great and the place is *immaculate*. Things to remember: This is North Fulton - ou are not going to pay Waffle House prices for this. Also the place can get noisy when the house is full. All that being said - you owe it to yourself to try this place out. Betcha you'll love it.

Original Pancake House is for birthdays and special occassions in my family. Yes, it's good but it is very expensive in terms of breakfast. The joke in my family is that every time we get a check at another restaurant we compare to see if "It's cheaper than OPH!" Service at OPH is always great. We usually go really early and never have to wait for a table. I like the potato pancakes. My husband likes to sample something new every time we go. Oh- and their bacon is the reason I am no longer a vegetarian.

I really miss this breakfast spot since I moved to Houston, Texas. The service is great and it is very clean. My favorite menu item is the peach crepes....Yum! if I could buy the place and transport it to Houston I would!

I love this place. It is pretty expensive but I guess that is the price for premium ingredients. Would be nice if they could come down a little bit though since breakfast foods tend to be the cheapest. But like I said, they use great ingredients. Bacon, Sausage etc is all stuff you would by at a grocery store. Not that cheap limp cafeteria quality bacon that places like ihop serve up. Eggs seem real and are not a watery mess if you get scrambled eggs. Everything is great. The menu is kind of weird and adding extras adds up. I walk in their hoping to see a breakfast entree that has everything but it is all split up weird with misleading names. But the servers are great as suggesting things to save $$ while making sure I get everything I want. Like others say, I guess they could spruce up the place ! with all this $$$ they are making they could probably afford it. They need to get rid of the seats that are right across from the kitchen and drink machine as well. On two occasions when they are packed I have been seated over there. Making me feel like I am at some Diner or waffle house smelling the sink water and what not.. Overall, food is excellent but the price does hurt a bit !

If you are looking for giant portion sizes that will allow you to have several meals worth of leftovers, this is the place to go. Omelettes that feature 6 eggs? Giant pancakes? Enormous platters of french toast? This place has it. Unfortunately, portion size is the only thing the food has going for it. The world famous omelettes are so, so, so dry. Hubs ordered the Western and thank goodness he asked for the cheese (not included, extra cost) otherwise he wouldn't have any moisture left in his mouth. The ingredients in the Western consist of a ton of green peppers and a few of the other ingredients. Green peppers are great but these chunks need to be much smaller and a fewer amount. The waitress noticed the pile of peppers we had picked out and commented that we were the third table this week to do that and she was going to talk to the manager. Good idea. Hubs will eat almost anything but he was so put out by this bland and disappointing omelette that he vowed not to come back. My cinnamon nut crusted French toast was tender and cooked well, although the almonds were a bit bitter and the cinnamon sugar was almost non-existent. I usually don't put syrup on my french toast but I had to with this meal in order to get some kind of flavor. The coffee was the bright spot in this meal- hot, rich, smooth and nicely touched with the real cream. Bill was $32 for the omelette, french toast, Diet Coke for the Hubs and coffee for me. I know that isn't extravagant but for food this mediocre, I feel a little robbed.

I'm always excited for Original Pancake House! ... even though I've only been twice. haha. I don't even enjoy breakfast food that much, so I always order the same thing: crepes. I don't think I've ever had a crepe I didn't like. So it seems it's hard to mess those up. My strawberry crepes had fresh strawberries, so I can't complain about anything. I believe there were 3 big ones, and I didn't get to finish them all. Just as the other reviews are saying, it is a bit expensive, but all the food is quality. I wish we had an Original Pancake House in the Tampa area. I'd probably find myself there quite often despite the prices and my habit of small breakfasts.

Good, not great, but solidly good pancakes. The best part about coming here are the pancakes. Yep, they are maybe the best I've ever had. So if you are craving some seriously good pancakes, this is the place. They have all kinds too- the traditional types like blueberry or pecan, but also flavors like coconut or bacon. Yep, bacon pancakes. Hey, I didn't say this was a place to come if you wanted pancakes while you were on a diet... Also have gigantic omelets, but I really don't think they are very good. Way too much egg, not enough of everything else. Fresh coffee, served with real cream, or fresh squeezed orange juice. Service is fast and efficient. Atmosphere is not anything special, your run of the mill diner look. No patio. And it's way out there on Windward parkway, so not really worth the drive if you live in town, since there are many great brunch places closer. But if you are up in this area and craving a good stack of pancakes and maybe some bacon and eggs, it's definitely better than your other options around here- like ending up at Cheesecake Factory. ugh.

food is good but proportions would lead to obesity.. definitely share the 6 egg omlette with someone which also comes with 3 pancakes.

Diner food at a not-so-diner-friendly price. I really like the pancakes and the array of choices. I even love that they make EVERYTHING from scratch, but the prices are just out of this world. My husband and I dropped almost $30 for a breakfast. If you can afford that on a regular basis, I recommend the Hawaiian pancakes, sourdough flapjacks and cinnamon nut french toast (you have to specify the nuts.. I learned that the hard way). If carbs aren't your thing, the Eggs Michael were a winner with my husband.

$2.40 for a cup of coffee?!?! I know that inflation is through the roof but still! 2 adults and 1 child cost 35 bucks before tip! I could have gone to IHOP and had the same thing for 15 bucks less. Service: not bad.. Food: It was good, but it was no where near worth the price.

On Winward in Alpharetta. The prices are HIGH, for example shredded cheese is $1.10. They DO NOT allow special requests like having your eggs prepared omlet-style. To bypass this, I asked for shredded cheese and onion on the side. The arrogant manager came to the table to explain how old the restaurant is and that they never make special requests, as a policy. Our server, Ryley, sweet and efficient but unable to provide simple services like getting diced onions from the kitchen because the manager states "servers aren't allowed to talk to kitchen staff." The manager, Nick, was superior and condescending. How dare I challenge the status quo by asking for onion! $28 + tip for bacon, eggs, pancakes, potatoes and French toast. No juice, that's $3.10 for 8oz.

Just met here for brunch. Service was attentive and the food was very good. However, I think the restaurant lacks in decor from the moment you walk in to the dining room you sit in. I would suggest a redesign considering it's in a plaza that is very nice.

I am a fan of OPH and have been to several of them: OR, CA, MN, AZ, IL, and now GA. I was in town on a work trip, and was disappointed with the quality of my hotel's breakfast -- so I was stoked when I found there was an OPH just down the road. I had my usual -- pecan waffle and extra crisp bacon. Very good. Yummmm..... Quick and friendly service. The server was constantly coming around and filling my coffee mug. My work colleague liked this place so much he even purchased an OPH mug. Nice.

My wife and I have been going to The Original Pancake House for several years now. We are there at least 2 to 3 times a month. We have been to several other OPH's (Vegas, Orlando, Savannah) and this one leaves them all in the dust. We live in Woodstock and the drive is well worth it. The portions are huge (we usually share) and quality is outstanding. 6 egg omelets, killer bacon, excellent French Toast and real cream with your coffee. Dave keeps things moving in the kitchen like a well oiled machine. When you go, make sure you are hungry. You will not be disappointed! Great food, great staff and great time had by one and all.

I ordered the 2 by 4 which included 2 eggs any way with 4 of their original pancakes. My wife and I commented that they really did a great job on the eggs which many restaurants screw up. Yes, the pancakes were great. Nice breakfast out for two all for $27.

I bought the Groupon several months ago because 1) I LOVE breakfast and 2) I especially love pancakes and waffles. A name like 'Original Pancake House' just sucks me right in! Looking over their menu on the website, I immediately had a craving for the blueberry waffle. I literally read and re-read the description of this waffle several times and just knew I had to try it. I had created high expectations for them already. My bestie and I decided to give OPH a try for lunch one day so I could put my Groupon to good use. We were seated quickly, and our server came right over. A nice enough young guy that my friend immediately declared was a stoner. More on this later. Yes, I ordered the blueberry waffle (and some bacon); my fried ordered an omelet. I was VERY happy with my waffle - just the way I like it! Very thick, filled with blueberries in the batter, and served with warm blueberry compote and syrup. Delish! It was sweet, but not overly so, just enough to satisfy the craving. My friend asked our stoner waiter about a particular menu item (a Dutch Baby) and he really had no idea. Poor thing! Based on my friend's earlier stoner comment, it was humorous watching him try to answer the questions. Hey - no judgment, just entertainment! She ended up ordering an omelet, but didn't eat very much of it and said it wasn't that great. Honestly it didn't look that great; was a little too overcooked and brown-ish for my liking. Overall, food was great, service was entertaining, if anything, and I'd go back again!

I REALLY wanted to like this place, I really did. However, my experience there was nothing short of horrible. Me and my colleague went for lunch and not only did it take FOREVER to get our orders out (there were a total of 5 tables, 3 of which were already eating so don't try and pull that "they were busy" shit on me....), they messed up BOTH of our orders. They got my colleague's eggs wrong, and to get another one it took a good 20 minutes. They forgot the bacon in my order, but I told them to forget about it. The waitress was completely unfamiliar with the menu items (except of course, the pancakes because that's their biggest selling item) and forgot my colleague's syrup. In the end, my colleague's meal was comped because we were done eating before the eggs came, and my lunch break went from half an hour to an hour and a half. I had always heard great things about the Original Pancake House in Atlanta, but the one in Alpharetta will have to step up it's game.

I have been to The Original Pancake House about five or six times now. My gf and I did a sprint triathlon Sunday morning so we went with my mom and sister after the race. As usual the wait was about 45 minutes which I am not mad about, it is to be expected. I did get aggravated that it took them so long to fill empty tables. At one point I counted 6 empty tables, 4 of which took over 10 minutes to be filled. I got the special which were pumpkin pancakes and they were real good, nice flavor. The others at my table got other forms of flavored pancakes and they all enjoyed it. Overall do like their food and the quality. I do not however like their prices which are fairly steep. Our bill before tip was $66 for 4 people, $16-$17 a person for pancake breakfast is steep. I probably won't be going back much more unless I am craving one of their items...the service is typically really slow and the value doesn't seem there. I would recommend however that everyone try it at least once and judge for themselves if it is worth it...right now...for me...i don't think it is.

Spent $35 for an omelette that was big enough for to feed 4 and a breakfast plate. Both came with pancakes and while they were good it was nothing exceptional. The omelette really confused me because it was huge but there was only cheese in the middle of it. The decor was less than pleasant. Booths are just wood benches with a table between then and no padding on the seats so after 10 minutes I was ready to leave. When you charge $35 for two people at lunch, I really expect a lot more for my money.

The food is normally good but it is way overpriced. I can't believe this is rated with only one $. It should be at least two or three $ symbols.
(2)
Lindsay B.
Just like other OPH's the food is good, I love a nice waffle, portion sizes are fantastically huge, and the price is ok. The trouble is the lack of organization when waiting to be seated. Three girls at the front and we had to interrupt their conversation to put our name in. We expected to have to wait, that's fine, but having someone manage the list well is something we also expected. Tough to go back.
It's been a while so I dropped in yesterday for breakfast. Had my favorite, the french toast and yes it's still as good as I remember. Love this place for breakfast!

Good pancakes but way too expensive. An 8oz glass of milk should not cost $2.49.

Horrible customer service. I ordered turkey sausage and received PORK. When I politely questioned the waitress and manager they argued with me instead of accommodating my request. Originally my experience with the Original Pancake house is in Chicago. I usually prefer the chicken sausage which was also not available at this location. #fail

C'mon folks... it is a pancake house, but it comes with great service, a clearly conscientious owner, and quick, good food... Worth the trip away from the hotel for breakfast. Free Internet too.

I've been to several OPH restaurants across multiple states and cities over the last decade or so. One thing they have down is consistency. The menu at one in Chicago was pretty much the same as the one in Dallas and the same as the one in Atlanta. The food at the Alpha location was identical as well...meaning that it was really high quality breakfast food that was enjoyed by everyone. The orange juice is always freshly squeezed and really tastes like it. You know that feeling of pure refreshment goodness that sort of tickles your spine as you swallow? That's the reaction you get from a glass of the good stuff at OPH. I usually get the Georgia Pecan pancakes, (even when I'm not in Georgia) and they did not disappoint me this time, either. My daughter had the chocolate chip stack and they came with miniature chips that were just starting to melt perfecltly into the cakes when they arrived at the table. The side of bacon is a mandatory, as it is thick-cut and full of flavor. Normally, I'd give 4-stars to OPH, but for this most recent trip, I had to do some docking of points. One thing I was truly disappointed with on this visit to Alpha's location was the coffee. OPH has legendary coffee that is strong (and not in a burnt Starbuck's way), robust and so flavorful. To make it even better, they serve it to you with heavy whipping cream instead of half-and-half. I must have gotten an old and dying batch, because the cup I had tasted very flat and watered down. OPH usually has some of the best coffee around, in my opinion. On the downside, there seems to always be a wait at any OPH location you go to. The service is decent, but never extraordinary (given how busy they are and how quickly they're trying to turn tables around). When we were there, the credit card reader system broke and they had to take everyone's card numbers and add them to each receipt by hand...a process that added an extra 5-7 minutes to everyone's check-out. Oh, we'll definitely come back. But we're going to try several other options in the area first.

I haven't been to this location in ages, since the one in town is so much more convenient. But, I just love "the farmer down the road"! That's who they get all of their super fresh and organic ingredients from. How can you not dig a place that promotes local living? I've been here several times and everything I've tried has been outstanding. Fresh tasty goodness that seems to disappear as soon as it hits the table every time. Everything is made to order and the portions are huge. My favorites are: fresh strawberry pancakes, dutch baby, veggie omelet, fresh squeezed OJ. If you're coming for lunch, try to get in early to avoid the rush as the place isn't very big. Also, take a look at the menu beforehand as a few of their items take a while - might be good to call in the order if you're on a tight schedule.

OK, good comfort food - but YIKES at the price ! Everything is expensive and then you pay extra for salsa ($2.75 !!!) and cheese ($1.15) on an omelette that's already $12.90. Coffee - not that great, especially at $2.40. However, omelette is easily enough for two and service was prompt and friendly.

My wife and I have been eating at various Original Pancake House locations for 20+ years. When the Alpharetta location opened, we were more than thrilled: We go often, our kids love it (my 10 year old son is a bacon connoisseur, and the bacon here is his favorite!). It is also a great location to meet up with other family members who live further north up 400. During the fall, I love to order the Apple Pancake - eat 1/2 at breakfast, and take the rest home to enjoy as a 1/2 time treat during football. My wife loves how fresh everything is, and they always make her eggs exactly as ordered. Beyond the fresh squeezed juice, real cream and fresh fruit, the staff is always chipper and accommodating. Even when they are busy (which they are on weekends), we always seem to get seated in a timely manner, and service is prompt. I don't think we have ever sat with an empty coffee cup waiting on a refill, nor have we looked around wondering where our food is after ordering: They do a great job on getting everything out quickly. It is a little more expensive than that other 'International House' pancake place, but the quality of the food, the real ingredients and the service make it the far better value. We plan on being back this weekend for sure!

Good food - yeah. Pricey food - yeah. Worth the $$ you'll drop, not sure. BUT, SO seriously needs a major overhaul on the decor & ambience!! It looks & feels like a blah greasy spoon diner. I was so disappointed when I walked in. Guess I'm spoiled by my old OPH. And what's with the eensy, weensy waiting lobby - when it's so crowded, people are having to wait outside huddling under awnings in the rain??!?! Since it's a limited national chain, I was seriously excited to learn of an OPH in the Atlanta area. OPH was my FAV restaurant in our Minneapolis, MN suburb. The restaurant owner there has the restaurant decorated w/authentic Victorian era decor. Cozy, great ambience, fireplaces, wood tables. Many of the fixtures, stained glass windows, and decorations are Victorian era originals. This OPH was a huge let down in comparison. I seriously think business, while it might be bustling in Alpharetta, would significantly increase w/a more warm & inviting atmosphere. Everyone likes to feel like they're going to 'grandma's house' to eat & not a greasy spoon diner, which is how this place looks & feels. The wait is even longer in Mpls than Alpha but sooo much more worth it. Check out the difference. ophmn.com/edina-restaura…

I think it's a four star mostly because my dear mutants have a place to eat pancakes and waffles and any other item typically not available to their dear little gluten challenged systems. I had the potato pancakes and a chicken breast - everything was good, served quickly, and the waiter (Eddy) was on the ball and switched to Spanish when he heard us in our Cuban accented voices. They close at 3 on Sunday so beware!

Went back to this place today after many months of being away. Not a lot has changed. I'm surprised they have done nothing to decorate this space. They have high walls with almost nothing on them. It just feels bare, uninviting and temporary. As other reviewers mention, this place is expensive. The Windward Premium (tm) is alive and well at this joint. A regular stack of pancakes is about $7.50. Add a side of sausage and you're over $10 already without a drink. They have a kid's mickey mouse pancake which is cute, but small. My four year old daughter made this disappear fast. Even my 1 year old threw his back and was soon digging into my breakfast. The cost for three adults and two kids was $45! Ouch! They are more expensive than even J Christophers. Thankfully we managed to find a $5 off coupon in one of the freebie magazines in the lobby. Nice score there. I found the service and kitchen to both be a little slow. They were not real busy, yet it took a while to get food. I suppose I'm accustomed to getting breakfast items quickly. How were the pancakes? Pretty good this time. Wish I could make them at home this way. And Gretchen, if you're reading this... they have a gluten-free pancake.

Purely to satisfy our curiosity, our family tried this spot. We had a 25 minute wait on this Sunday morning and had a chance to read the previous Yelp reviews and look through their menu, but our curiosity won out over the warnings. If you customize or add side items it gets expensive quickly. We stuck to the basic offerings (for example, I had the pecan pancakes) and our bill came to $38 for our party of three. Everything was fresh and tasty, but not as spectacular as the price and advertising would suggest. Nor does the service or atmosphere account for the expense. Our server was fairly prompt but failed to bring any of us a drink refill, served the "hot" syrup as lukewarm, and spent most of her time reminding us they couldn't process credit cards because their machine was down. The decor is harsh and cold, with concrete floors and flat wooden booths. Instead of a comfy room with hot comfort food to escape the December weather, all the patrons (including ourselves) were forced to keep their coats on to battle the cold drafts from the overhead vents. It's doubtful we'll ever be back again since most of their offerings can be had for cheaper and in better conditions. We drove past many competitors who are more worthy, but now that we've had our experience it will take more than curiosity to persuade us to return.

We tried out the OPH with a Groupon and enjoyed our breakfast. The peach pancakes were delicious and the regular pancakes with strawberry syrup were also great. Scrambled eggs were prepared well and came out hot. Excellent coffee. Good service. The thick bacon was too greasy for my liking. Biggest negative is the high prices.

I was torn between 2 and 3 stars. Overall, the food is very good. Love their bacon, thought the quality of the food was excellent. However, I cannot get past the prices and the modest decor to give a higher rating. The prices are high (see other reviews) - the quality they seek does not justify the prices. There is absolutely nothing about the interior to praise. Service was good, but not outstanding. You'll love the food - right up until you get the bill.

I really wanted to love this place and rant and rave because they offer gluten free pancakes. Unfortunately I was underwhelmed. It wasn't bad, just nothing special. I was surprised that although they offer gluten free pancakes, they did not have a GF menu or even seem to have a great grasp on GF in general. I am sure many of the other items on the menu were GF, but they really had no idea. We took a couple of risks and were just fine. As mentioned before, there is not much decor and consequently not much personality inside. Service is friendly enough though. On the brighter side, the non GF menu is interesting with several unique items making you want to come again to try something else. I have had several that were quite tasty. Overall there are some good meals but the overall experience is just average for the price.

I would give 3.5 stars if yelp allows half stars. this is one of my favorite breakfast spots. their food and service are consistently good. Personally I think they are a bit over priced. They have a big breakfast and lunch menu. We love the Dutch baby. something different, but delicious.

I wish I had read Yelp before going here - this place was incredibly overpriced! An order of pancakes with sugar-water syrup was $7.45! Ham and Eggs was $11.00 - crazy. For my wife, daughter, and me the tab was $32.00. Not bad for dinner, a stretch for lunch, and just plain crazy for breakfast. I noticed that they weren't all that busy for a Saturday morning at 9am - IHOP and Waffle House were standing room only - have to trust my instincts in the future. Service was good, to be fair. Food was not bad - but no way was it worth the price. There was nothing here that you couldn't get at IHOP, Cracker Barrel, etc - for much less.

Breakfast is very good with a huge selection of very diverse items on the menu. For people that normally don't like breakfast, they will find something they want on the huge menu. The portions are ridiculously huge, most should be shared with two or three people. Lunch however, is a different matter. The lunch menu is lacking and the items on it are not up to the standard of the breakfast service. What a shame compared to the magic they work on their breakfasts. Service has been hit and miss.

Stopped by here for breakfast on a whim. We were seated immediately. Opened the menu and almost died when I saw the prices. $5 for Cream of Wheat, basic breakfasts for $8+, $12 omelets -- oh my! I read their literature on how wholesome, natural and homemade their food was, and my wife asked me to calm down and give them a try. The food was so-so. My wife had a vegetarian omelet that gushed water when she cut it open (too many vegetables in it) -- she ate very little of it because there was too much moisture and it was grossing her out. I had two eggs sunny side down (had to send back because the whites and yolks were runny, no where near cooked), pancakes and bacon. The pancakes were superb and the bacon.... was bacon. My $5 orange juice was full of pulp, to the point it was barely drinkable. Wife's coffee was ok, nothing to write home about. Got my son applesauce and crusty raisins that looked 5 years old -- he touched neither. The bill was $32, $38 with tip. A $38 breakfast for two-and-a-half people.... And it was sub par to top it off. Yes, I'm bitter.... Will never, EVER, return to this place ever again.

So very delicious, high quality ingredients! You definitely have to pay for them too. ...not your average cheap, greasy, sticky Waffle House. My daughter & I split a pancake, eggs and sausage meal. All cooked to perfection. I was left wanting more as the pancakes are very light. My son had a generous side of meaty bacon. We all raved about the food just not the prices..

It was my coworkers birthday today and he loves this place, so in honor of his day we all went along (somewhat begrudgingly.. with murmurs of overly expensive pancakes). It was my first time taking the plunge, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Our waiter was excellent, service was fast, and most importantly, the pancakes were fabulously fluffy. The meals others got all looked good too, including a ridiculously huge spinach omelet. An interesting fact about this place is that the prices are completely random. For example, my meal was $6.17, my friend's was $16.41 (that's how much the pancakes were... just kidding, but they are quite spendy). The best part was that after we told our waiter it was someones birthday he came over and sang him a birthday song with extreme & authentic enthusiasm in what sounded like Portuguese. :) Your experience may be hit or miss, but if you love pancakes it warrants a try!

My wife being a Celiac can not eat gluten was excited because they had a gluten free menu which typically get them at least one star from me. The problem here is that my wife got really sick at the establishment because the food we had seemed to have been cross contaminated. We will never eat here again and if you have a gluten intolerance or Celiac don't take the chance. I would give this minus star if possible. I would defer you to making pancake at home pamela's mix seems to be the best for us.

This is a tough one for me to review because I love all things having to do with breakfast, especially pancakes. I may be overwhelmed by the fresh factor of everything prepared here, but I think it is just splended. : - ) Its almost as good as what I prepare at home on the weekend, which is most definitely saying quiet a bit if I do say so myself. : - ) The freshness of the orange juice, the satisfaction of knowing that its in-house squeezed, to just knowing that everything is prepared in clarified butter. It all comes together & makes my heart sing. : - ) Look past the prices & know that what you are putting in your body is quality. I must say I got a little daring one day & went with the dutch baby pancake...eh, was not impressed. Just stay with what you know, because at a place like this...that's what you really want anyway! ; - )

I heard about the bacon pancakes here and decided to drive the better part of an hour up to visit. Ultimately, I did not get bacon pancakes, because there were so many appealing items on the menu! I ordered banana pancakes with tropical syrup, and yummed all of it up. My husband ordered an omelet that was HUGE. I'm also a huge fan of their coffee. We arrived on Sunday, and had to wait due to the church crowd. Service was hurried, but not bad. I had a good time - the prices are higher than I would like, but you get a ton of food. I'll be back.

The food was quite good, but the waitress was not helpful at all. I asked for the gluten free pancakes with an add-in, and she said it was impossible because she couldn't figure out how to put it in the computer. She offered to bring it on the side? How does it make sense to charge me for an add-in, bring it on the side, but not be able to add it to the pancakes? She would not explain why either. So frustrating!

I like this place because the food is decent, the service is good, and the overall experience is highly consistent. The omelets are huge -- 6 eggs. Two people can easily split them and be satisfied. Yes, it's expensive (nearly $10 for pecan pancakes with no side items). Yes, it's packed on Sunday mornings after church. However, I always seem to have a good time there. That's enough for me.

Consistently delicious pancakes and bacon! Quick service and tasty hot chocolate too! This one is a winner in my book!

Yes, the prices may raise more than a few eyebrows because it's hard to believe that something so simple like pancakes can even cost this much....especially if you're comparing this place to IHOP or Waffle House. Let me tell you something - you cannot possibly compare this place to those other two spots! That's like comparing dogs to hamsters. This is quality food and mm mmmmm good! Personally, I think if you go for the simpler items, you're bound to be more satisfied; the more elaborate/creative things can be, well, a little *too* creative - hence, the star off. The freshly squeezed orange juice is pretty rad and of course, the pancakes are yummy. Place can get very crowded though and you may need to wait for quite awhile, but I think the wait is worth it.

First let me say this is one of mine and my mom's favorite breakfast places. We literally hunt one down even while traveling because the food is usually very good and consistent. This review is being written to point out the lack of customer attention that I feel exists at this particular location. My issue is they do have rather steep prices which makes going out with our family of five hard to substantiate for breakfast food, albeit all-natural and very yummy. To lessen the burden I try to use deals (like. groupon, coupons) whenever I can. This is my beef. Every time I try to use a coupon here there is some stipulation that they include that was not written in any fine print of the deal. First time was Mother's Day promotion (a while back) when they had free breakfast for mom during the first hour they were open. My Mom and I stood outside freezing until they opened only to find out once we received our food that the deal was only for one mom per table. Most recently, I purchased a coupon from DoubleTake Deals which I attempted to use last night (Thursday). I joked before I showed it to the waiter about there being a catch then the waiter said they don't take the coupons on Thursday (which was listed NO WHERE on the site or on the voucher I had purchased). I asked to speak to the manager which only made matters worse because instead of acknowledging the oversight and listening to my feelings of being "hoodwinked" as a consumer he chose to stand there and argue about how the signs of Thursday nights special school night being posted everywhere and how they give a portion of the proceeds to local schools. Keep in mind, none of that had anything to do with me being a consumer and not knowing about the no coupon on Thursday's thing until after dragging my two kids out on a school night to eat breakfast for dinner. Since my 15 month old was beside herself by then, we chose to stay and eat anyway. Luckily our waiter, Josh, was very accommodating, patient and attentive and almost made up for his manager's lack of customer service. Food was great as usual but final meal was upwards of 50 (with tax and tip). OUCH.

These are quite possibly the most decadent pancakes on Earth. So rich and so tasty! The thick-sliced bacon is always a great bonus. This is no Waffle House, if you want a serious breakfast, this is the place to go!

(4)Emma F.
(3)GR G.

(3)ChrisAnne S.
(2)Augusto O.

Food was very good, Great Omelet. Good coffee excellent waitress. However I will not be going back because I can't afford to. Pricey
(4)Trina M.
(4)Tara R.
(4)Anmarie A.

(5)Jane M.
I ate breakfast here one morning and I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious the food is. I actually chose this place over iHop because sometimes the usual places just get so old and boring, this was a nice change and I will be back again

(4)Kristie D.
(3)Michell W.
(2)Grant G.
(1)Deep M.
Amazing pancakes.. Extremely soft and buttery... Really nice bacon as well.. Thick and ask for extra crispy.. Nice place for brunch
(4)Jessica H.
Will agree with many of the other yelpers who are saying it's a bit pricey. The food was delicious though! Can't say much about the menu because I got a traditional breakfast, but the pancakes were fluffy and the OJ tasted very fresh!
(4)Sergio R.
(1)Melia J.
Pure Perfection! Fresh French Strawberry Crepes with fresh whipping cream and strawberry syrup. Oh and don't forget the bacon! I love this place! Everything is fresh and from scratch. Amazing. Will not disappoint!
(5)Lila S.
The banana pancakes are incredible!
(5)Trent T.
(4)M. S.
(4)Lou G.
(3)Alex S.
They have coffee (served with whole cream), AMAZING gluten free pancakes (with real maple syrup), massive omelettes, great service, good value. I am going to come back just to get coffee and a stack of gluten free pancakes.
(5)Daryl T.
Unless you love pancakes, stay away! Service is horrible, prices are inflated and back if the restaurant is dirty. Food is mediocre, small glass of OJ is over $4! Give me IHOP anytime!
(1)Tina D.
Delish!
(5)Nikki M.
(5)Kimberly R.
Fresh ingredients, delicious food, outstanding service, Groupon value exceptional. The pancakes are light, fluffy and full of flavor. Everything is obviously homemade. I will become a regular.
(5)Puja M.
Strawberry pancakes, wonderful whipped cream and sausage links = Food Coma. I'm delirious and loving it!
(4)Nate C.

Loved it everything was amazing the service and food. I'm not sure how busy lunch gets but morning are nice and quiet. 5 stars well deserved

(4)Jacqueline C.
(4)Sue T.
This was the first time we had eaten here and we're so glad we did! Everything we had was delicious! The sourdough pancakes were amazing!! Can't wait to go again next time we're in Alpharetta.
(5)Stephen G.
Food was at best OK, service was below that level. Prices.... Well for the prices they are asking you would expect better in both the food and service. My recommendation is to go one exit further north and go to BB's.
(2)Steve W.
Kinda of funny that my gps brought me literally to cracker barrel. Their location isn't that easy to see from the road or even find (located next to Thai Square). Had the corn beef hash, which was ok. Service was good. Worth a trip if you can find them
(3)Chris J.
Great food and good service. The ingredients used are always fresh and never disappoints. Just get here early or your wait will be 45 mins or more.
(4)Darius A.
The food was good I got the fruit bowl blueberry pancakes bacon and home fries she brought out my pancakes first and made me feel bad I had to eat them in front of my friend brunch proceeded to go bad as he told me I needed a new place to live I'm full and happy
(4)Crystal T.
(1)Honest R.
Best sit down breakfast joint in the area. Great coffee, fresh o.j. , excellent service, thick slice Bacon. etc, etc... Get the 49er flap jacks with the dutch baby setup. Downside? It is pricey for a family of four.
(4)Jamie H.
(2)East Cobb S.
(5)Chris J.
The best pancakes!!! I've been here a few times and each time it's been great. It gets busy on the weekends so expect a wait. Service has always been great.
(5)Mary I.
(2)Karie L.
(4)Ricky G.
Not the friendly place in the world, not sure but it was the OMG experience our guest had described. I would say MIMI's in Buford at the Mall of GA is fare better!
(3)Neil W.
Food and sevice was good but almost $9 for the smallest side dish of corned beef hash I have had anywhere in the country. Some of their prices are on the high side to the point of being insulting. Don't think I'll be going back.
(3)Hazel M.
(4)Annie L.
(3)Erick S.
This place is too expensive for what you get. Please lower your prices and I'll return.
(2)Tracy W.
For how much this place costs, to refuse to do a simple customization to accommodate food allergies (not even with an upcharge) is reprehensible. I get better service at McDonalds. I will not be wasting my money here in future. I would give zero stars for the horrible service if I could.
(1)Jamie E.
(5)Kristine P.
Best waffles and pancakes ever!!
(5)Marshia M.
Love the pancakes and bacon! The omelets are huge, enough for 2 people to share. Customer service has always been great for my husband and I. It can get pretty crowded on weekend mornings so take advantage of their early bird special.
(5)Martin F.
(5)Alyssa M.
(3)Daphene N.
I really miss this breakfast spot since I moved to Houston, Texas. The service is great and it is very clean. My favorite menu item is the peach crepes....Yum! if I could buy the place and transport it to Houston I would!
(5)Don B.
(5)Laura M.
(2)Acelyn B.
(4)Micah W.
But if you are up in this area and craving a good stack of pancakes and maybe some bacon and eggs, it's definitely better than your other options around here- like ending up at Cheesecake Factory. ugh.
(3)Karunya S.
food is good but proportions would lead to obesity.. definitely share the 6 egg omlette with someone which also comes with 3 pancakes.
(4)Heidi S.
(3)Chip G.
(2)Charity Z.
(2)Michael I.
Just met here for brunch. Service was attentive and the food was very good. However, I think the restaurant lacks in decor from the moment you walk in to the dining room you sit in. I would suggest a redesign considering it's in a plaza that is very nice.
(3)Jessica A.
Nice.
(4)Larry K.
(5)CHANDRA MURALI S.
We have been here couple of times and we love the fresh food they prepare here, especially fresh squeezed orange juice. I will definitely go back here.
(5)Phil S.
I ordered the 2 by 4 which included 2 eggs any way with 4 of their original pancakes. My wife and I commented that they really did a great job on the eggs which many restaurants screw up. Yes, the pancakes were great. Nice breakfast out for two all for $27.
(5)Amy T.
(4)Tom C.
Our favorite breakfast place. Everything is high quality and delicious. It is very crowded on weekends, but it is worth the wait.
(5)Sara C.
Way over priced! Food was ok, you do not get what you pay for!
(2)Michelle W.
(1)Ali F.
Works for me the chicken & eggs with pancakes are the joint! i never knew the food in The Original House of Pancakes is all natural. I'll be back for sure food is GOOD!
(4)Mark S.

(2)Lindsay B.

OUR BRUNCH FOR 2 UNDER $25.00!! Happy Happy Joy Joy! Yes...their prices are not on the cheap side. But neither is the quality of the food! THIS IS A TREAT! Prepare to wait for a table during peak times. If you want cheap breakfast, go to a fast food joint...I don't think I would be taking and paying for children here either To save some $$$ and calories...My wife and I will SHARE the "Bacon and Eggs" (2 eggs, 4 bacon strips, and 3 butter milk pancakes). We will then add-on 3 eggs and 1 buttermilk pancake to our order. 2 sodas @1.99 each. With tax & 15% tip... under $25. You might want to ask the server about add-ons if you are sharing a different entrée. We will say you can taste the love in the food...eggs are light and fluffy, and the buttermilk pancakes are wonderful! We have eaten at both IHOP and Cracker Barrel AND THERE IS A DIFFERENCE in the quality of the food you can taste! When we do go to Cracker Barrel, it is a total check of $23.00. 2 Mommas pancake breakfast and 2 sodas is $20.00 plus $3 tip...and yes the Cracker Barrel pancakes are bigger but not nearly as good (or the eggs). As far as overall ambiance...there are No padded seats, even in the booths. But this is not a deal breaker. Seating is cramped with full restaurant, if you get a table.

It's been a while so I dropped in yesterday for breakfast. Had my favorite, the french toast and yes it's still as good as I remember. Love this place for breakfast!
(4)David K.
Good pancakes but way too expensive. An 8oz glass of milk should not cost $2.49.
(3)Noriko B.

(5)Erum A.
Great place for breakfast only if you are into eggs and meat. Everything smells like eggs. Not a Vegan friendly place. They have a few salad choices but they don't serve them on the weekends.
(2)Damien S.
Food is ok, but they are way too proud of it pricewise.

(4)Mike L.

(4)Kelly H.
(2)K K.
(3)L J.
Consistently delicious pancakes and bacon! Quick service and tasty hot chocolate too! This one is a winner in my book!
(4)Christine K.

Absolutely LOVE the dutch babies, fresh OJ and coffee. Usually funny servers and pretty fast! A great breakfast or lunch place!
