Not good. It was edible but I definitely won't be back. This is nothing like the Mr. Taco on Holcomb Bridge Rd. The food here is slightly better than Taco Bell. It feels like the owner is very cheap and might diminish the quality of food by not using quality meats, cheese, etc. For instance, the chips are terrible. Costco chips in a bag are ten times better. Same for the salsa. Although the guacamole salsa was tasty, it was watered down. The salsa bar had a good variety but the serving cups were thimble size. Steak taco was very bland. They messed up my combo order and gave me a ground beef enchilada instead of cheese. The waitress took care of it but I was already finished when the cheese enchilada made it out to the table. It wasn't very good. The enchilada sauce was pretty good. The refried beans were watery but tasted ok. Fajita burrito came out cold and the tortilla wasn't warm. The California burrito came with chips but they charged $1 for a bowl of tasteless chips for our other two meals. No complaints about the California burrito. However, the person eating that had not had breakfast and was starving. Skip this place and find another Mexican restaurant. Anything would have been better.

Horrible customer service skills by a punch of teenagers! Refuse to give us lunch price after being in line waiting for 10 minutes. Lunch ended 1 minute ago!!! Never coming back

I have been coming to Mr Taco for the last couple of months. I found it via Yelp, and I wanted to take a minute to let you know my thoughts. First let me level set. I love Mexican food, and I could eat it three meals a day. Mr Taco has great food. The chimichangas are the best I have had, but I also strongly recommend the Mexican tacos (steer tacos). The Salsa bar is fantastic as well. Great service and food! This is a must if you like authentic Mexican food!

I've been to Mr. Taco twice now (take out both times), and have enjoyed every bite thus far. On my first trip, I tried the Enchilads Acapulco, which were decent, mainly because I forgot to request flour tortillas as I'm not a fan of corn tortillas. This time, I got the steak fajita quesadilla which was (is...I'm still eating) AWESOME. I'm thoroughly impressed with the amount of meat they stuffed into that quesadilla for the low price of 6 bucks (includes rice & guacamole salad). I also love the fact that they do 1/2 orders of cheese dip (at lunch at least) for $1.75. And as everyone has mentioned, the salsa bar has a nice selection of salsas (traditional and verde, varying spiciness + pico de gallo, etc). Basically, I got what I'd typically expect from a halfway decent mexican restaurant, but for half the price and twice the speed. I believe the biggest downfall is space (this is where they lose a star) -- at lunch time you may have to fight for a table. It'll definitely become a regular spot for my lunch breaks. :)

Yum, I love there tacos de asada. I go almost once a week for inexpensive fresh food and the place is clean. Will definitely continue going.

This place is half a step up above Taco Bell. First of all, this place is in a pretty small shopping plaza, so if you come during the lunch rush, you're going to have trouble with parking. I came at around 11:30 one day and parking wasn't a big issue. Another day I came around 12:30 and the lot was packed. The lunch specials here are pretty cheap. They are basically combo plates that have different combinations of items such as tacos, burritos, enchiladas, rice & beans. They have other specials such as quesadillas. I ordered the Special #6 which is beef taco, beef burrito, & a beef enchilada. Food came out fast and it warm. At first looked great. Sauce everywhere all topped with cheese. However, after taking a bit out of everything wasn't too impressed. I couldn't differentiate the burrito and enchilada in taste. They use a red sauce on the enchilada which was ok. The beef they used tasted very low quality. I felt a little disgusting with myself after I finished everything. The food is cheap though. So I may come back and try again but I'll stay away from anything with ground beef.

Terrible, terrible service. Ordered lunch for my office to be delivered and they were over 1.5 hours. We ended up grabbing lunch elsewhere. This was by far the worst service I've had in the Atlanta area.

Delicious. Well done. Clean. Caldo tlalpeno definitely worth the trip. Tortas are perfect for the teens, with generous amount of meat. Love this place. The salsas taste fresh and the ingredients smell fresh. We enjoy the tacos for a late dinner or a midday snack. Great variety and reasonable prices.

This place is great. They have a huge hot sauce bar which is what takes it to the next level. I've tried several Mexican favorites, and while they do not necessarily distinguish themselves as a culinary experience, they are what is expected - which allows for the hot sauce bar to be the flair.

You know the food at Mr. Taco was just about your average Mexican fare. Standard enchiladas, tacos, tostadas, burritos, and so forth. Even taste-wise it was pretty much standard. Based on food alone, I would've rated at a 3. What boosts their score for me is the excellent salsa bar at Mr. Taco. There are a large number of choices in salsas at all the spice levels. I enjoyed the trial and error. A couple of the very hot ones were really good. The lady at the counter, taking my order, was very nice and patient so plus points to her for service.

One of my favorite places for lunch....The Tlalpeno Soup is an absolute must try! The California burrito is my husband's favorite...and did I mention the salsa bar? Fantastic!

Good, inexpensive Mexican food ordered from the counter. Very nice salsa bar with large variety of salsas with different heat levels. Overall tasted very fresh and this place is better than Moes because it is more authentic. The kids and I really enjoyed it and would come back again for sure.

I'm down with Mr. Taco. I made it in right before the lunch rush and was able to walk right up and order. By the time I left the line was out the door - and with good reason. This was my first time and I wasn't super familiar with the menu so I went with something I knew I would be able to judge - a taco and burrito combo. The taco was pretty standard but the added sauces from the salsa bar took it to the next level. The burrito was already there. It came covered in sauce and I added some from the bar, mix it with the rice and you got a top notch lunch. I def need to spend some more time here to get aquatinted with all my options.

I love this place so much but I don't want you to come here. I thoroughly enjoy the fact that no one else is around while I am eating my delicious Mexican street tacos and I can be as messy as I please. I also thoroughly enjoy not having a line at their terrific salsa bar. Seriously this place is yummy! At first glance it looks pretty typical small Mexican restaurant, super casual. I was practically in my pjs my first visit and no one looked twice ( except at my beautiful face, of course). So far I have only had the Mexican tacos which they call "street tacos" at Frontera. They are so good though I had them for dinner the past 2 nights an could easily have them again tomorrow. They have like 6 different salsas of varying degrees of hotness. They have teeny tiny little cups (think plastic communion cups) so ask for a bigger one if needed. The best one IMO is the guac salsa. Staff is super helpful. My only regret is that I didn't discover that place sooner!

I live near this restaurant so I went in to check it out last week. It was super busy so I figured it was worth the wait. The phones were ringing off the hook! We ordered a few tacos, a "torta" and a chicken quesadilla. It was so good that I would be willing to wait all over again next time. I would recommend eating here, however keep in mind there might be a wait because of how good it is.

Food is ok. My complaint is about the attitude of the worker(s) there. In particular this one young gentleman that is rather rude to me whenever I eat there. Otherwise this would be my favorite local place to eat but I avoid this place because of this individual. The last time I went he was on the phone the whole time and literally dropped the receipt onto the counter without saying a word to me. I found this to be very insulting. I hope the manager reads this. In terms of service and ambiance, I much prefer the Holcomb Bridge location.

I love mexican. Love love love. I was at work and yelp mexican and me taco came highly recommended. After eatin there for lunch, i have no idea why. We went during thier lunch rush and it was packed. While in line, u have no view of the menu and cant choose what u want until u get to the register. After finally getting to the counter i felt rushed to make a decision. But didnt know what i wanted. I asked the cashier what most people get and she said the chimichangas or the stuffed burrito. I went with the chimichangas with rice and beans. Once u order the food, they give u an order number and bring the food to ur table later. A long time later. My food was terrible. The chicken was tough and the rice was bland. Me taco does have an assortment of salsa and sauces but nothing made my food fast any better. After one visit, i knew we wouldn't be back. Highly disappointed.

This place is aimed towards the lunch crowd. It still has some really nice qualities though. The salsa bar is excellent. The service is excellent. I had the talpeño soup and it was awesome. Fresh and full of chicken and avocado. It's like sopa de pollo with a little extra. Four stars for the good service, excellent food, and speedy times.

If I could eat Mr Taco three meals a day I would! My husband and my waistline would not be too happy, but my taste buds would. Everything I try I love...from the authentic tacos to burritos Gorditas are awesome. ..eat them right away...not so good the next day. Just discovered the Tlapina Soup...oh my slap your mama....yes there have been a few deliveries when the food wasnt the same as the time before...thats life esp a small non franchise establishment. ...but they always make up for it on my next experience! Oh and delivery for a buck!

Mr. Taco - don't let the name fool you. The name is American but this is totally authentic food that I crave. I like the Mexican Tacos with carnitas or conchita pibil. Their salsa bar has 6-8 homemade delicious salsas of all flavors and heat levels. My favorite salsa is a chunky tomatillo, avocado, cilantro and onion concoction that is great with chips and on meats. I can even add some marinated habaneros, radishes, limes and some pico de gallo that will bite you back. It's a blue collar atmosphere that is culturally and ethnically diverse with diners from nearby office businesses, landscapers, and construction workers. The service is friendly and fast. The big screen TVs usually have a futbol game on one and a local show on the other.

Food was "fine". Nothing special. They may have had a little more variety than some places, but it was run of the mill Mexican food. The big downer was NO FREE CHIPS. Bummer. 99% of Mexican places give you free chips and salsa, but not Mr Taco. I think this will definitely hurt their business in the long run. I rarely go there, partly because of that. Also, the prices aren't anything special. Salsa bar is a cool idea, but what's the point if you don't get chips?

Stopped in here for lunch when I was on the way to the North Pointe Mall. The food was a great bargain for the price. I got a Chimichanga plate for $6, which came with rice, beans, guacamole, sour cream and lettuce. The plate had two small Chimichangas with shredded beef. I liked the fact that they weren't smothered with cheese as you get in some other places. Overall it is a decent place to get a quick meal.

There is a foolish new policy for Salsa when you order your food to-go. If you dine-in you are welcome to stuff your face with as much salsa as you want (there are several varieties all is delicious!), However if i order my food to-go (delivery, or pickup) they limit you to two small plastic ramekins for the entire order... ordering for 8 people?- too bad you get two. At first i thought I was surely misunderstanding, but my coworker just came back frustrated over the same issue.. in both cases the employees were very matter of fact and a bit crass in explaining the new policy.. it was confusing because i felt like i did something wrong by asking. we have been customers for 2+ years it is disappointing. Aren't I saving you $$ by picknig up my food to-go? is asking for 3 salsa's really a big deal when if i dined in i could consume all i wanted?! Hopefully this policy changes. In the meanwhile i'll spend my lunch money elsewhere!

I had given it 3 stars before. The sauce bar was dirty. Yesterday I placed my order. Then I saw the manager go to the kitchen because the girl preparing orders was too slow. He had a runny nose. While preparing my order ($40) he would reach for his blue shirt's collar and wipe the snot off. I waited for my order, went home and trashed it. Also the meat in the tacos was dry and fatty. Zero stars. One star is too good. Gross!

My last review dated 11/29 was in reference to nachos... I'm back again with another nachos review. How can a Mexican restaurant mess up such an easy, essential Mexican dish?!?! The key to nachos is cheese and this place is VERY stingy with cheese. I'm not asking for nachos soup but damn - give me some cheese! This is the second time my nachos have been screwed up and I won't be back. NOW, the Mr. Taco on Holcombe Bridge is consistently great! Not going back to this one.

Just plain awful. The food is almost totally free of taste or character. This is Tex-Mex taken from a mall food court in Anywhereville, USA. The burrito I was served and what little flavor it did have it did have a mild hint of an unusual substance that I can only speculate was horse meat and it also had a mild flavor of something you would scrape off of your shoe. You would be better off looking in your back yard eating a stray dog turd.

I have to say there are many options for Mexican however they have the best tacos in town. They combine excellent food with great service and are consistent with every visit. They provide many fresh salsas and condiments to explore with your tacos so you never get bored. I truly enjoy this place and will have them cater my next party

I have been craving a burrito but burritos on the east coast are very different from what you can get on the west coast. I'm used to huge burritos filled with beans, rice, sour cream, guacamole. lettuce, tomato, salsa, and some awesome carne asada or grilled chicken. So since moving to ATL I have made it a point to go to at least 1 mexican food place per week until I find a place that can fill my burrito needs. I saw this place on yelp with a high rating and looked at the menu and saw the actually serve a burrito called Burrito California and it had all I was looking for. I got very excited and had to try it. I went there are placed my order. I was given 3 small cups and I was not sure what they were for until I turned around and saw they had a salsa bar. They have a wide range of different salsa and I quickly selected 3 different salsas. They were all list as Hot so I was looking forward it some spicy to my burrito. It took only about 8 mins until my order was ready and I was excited. I opened the container and there was my burrito with fresh chips on the side. The burrito was cut in half and I really liked that. I dove right in. I was so happy to finally have a burrito close to what I had been craving. It was not as good as I had hoped (the lettuce had a strange flavor. I could not place it but it was something that reminded me of the old lettuce that is sometimes served at Subway). I added the salsa but it was not spicy so I was a little disappointed. Overall it was good. It was not 100% what I was looking for but it was close and I would consider going back the next time I have a burrito craving. I hope I can find a better place but this is not bad for a backup spot.

I am obsessed. Best Mexican food in Alpharetta at an unbelievable price. And they deliver! Burrito poblano is delicious, as are all the tacos, tortas, and enchiladas. I haven't ordered anything here I haven't liked! Check it out for lunch especially, great deals.

Really good food. Fast service. Fresh salsa bar. Tiny language problem depending on who your cashier is that day. We get food to go and it is well packed. Don't stack hot food containers because they bend. Husband says the cerviche is the best in town. Love the enchaladas ranchero. Very reasonably priced. Does get too busy at lunch time and that can affect the quality of the cooking. Overall a good American Mexican restaurant. I have never been to Mexico. I would not know authentic Mexican if it were served to me!

  • Ace H.

Very NOT authentic, only a step above taco hell. Way over priced for the value! I've eaten at many authentic taquiera's around Atlanta and was pseudo excited to try this 1 since it was where I was working today and was not impressed at all. The usual dollar tacos have less meat and are smaller and are 2 dollars here. Torta was half the size of a normal torta I would get anywhere else with less meat and a small square of cheese. Salsa bar was a joke, reminded me of Moes. They even will charge you full price for a refill of sugar water.. If you are craving authentic mexican you might as well head to Taco bell I think its a block away, if you know anything about authentic mexican stay far far away.

I went here with some coworkers for lunch. Of course there were lots of choices for lunch at reasonable prices. This place offers the typical dishes. Of course there was a speedy Gonzales as my friend pointed out. :) The portion size is decent as well. I remember my friend ordering the nachos. It was a huge plate full of goodness as she put it. My other friend ordered the steak fajitas ($10.95?), pretty delicious as she ordered it a second time for lunch the following week. I ordered a special with one taco, one burrito, and one enchilada ($5.50?). All was beef. It was too much beef for my taste, but was good none the less. There were an abundance of sauces to choose from. One odd thing that my friend pointed out when she had a delivery: There were chips that came with her order. None could be found when she ordered the same thing when we dined in. Strange.

I used to live off Old Milton and frequent this place and I still try to drop by as much as I can. Great authentic mexican food and its not as divey as other places, and they have an excellent variety of food. Good tacos, different types of tacos, big california burritos, and even dinner plates like you get at a sit-down restaurant. I usually get an order of stuffed poblano peppers, chips and salsa, and tlalpeno soup. Or a california burrito. Or tacos. And their salsa is HOT and very authentic. Great place!

Sad to say, I'm back with an update. I've been on the fence about this place over the last few months and my experience today will probably be the last. I ordered their soup which comes with a side of chips, and ordered a separate order of chips also. Once I got there to pick up my order, the young lady advised me that for 3 bags of chips they could only supply me with two small plastic containers for salsa. They have a salsa buffet for those that dine in, yet those ordering carryout or take out has to pay an additional .50 cent per cup. I really wouldn't mind that, but I ordered for two people, so why not allot two salsas per item as opposed to my entire order? Had I ordered them separately this would not be an issue which is just insane and not worth the trouble. I used to order delivery but stopped doing that because my food would arrive cold or they would never put the salsa in the bag. I really wanted to continue to support this establishment but I'm over them. Go to Jose's if you are looking for better service and clear cut pricing.

I just go here when I'm craving for a burrito, which by no means is real mexican food so don't come here expecting you're in Guadalajara. Order the COCHINITA PIBIL California Burrito and you'll have a great meal. Talpeno Soup is also good. For a Burrito with a more authentic flavor than Chipotle, Moes and all those chains, Mr. Taco won't let you down!!

Mr Taco is by far the best Mexican food in or around Alpharetta. I have lived in Alpharetta for 6 years, and the one thing that I could never find was good Mexican. Not like La Parilla, which is decent and a fun atmosphere...not like Cans, which I like but is more "fancy" Mexican...but Mexican food like the strip mall Mexican Restaurants in the Chicago suburbs that I grew up in. Mr Taco is just that. A little place, in a strip mall with a wonderful Salsa bar, where I can feed my family of 4 for about 30-35 bucks! The atmosphere to some Alpharettians can be a little scary. This is what I would refer to as a little hole in the wall. It looks clean, just a hole in the wall. The staff is great, very helpful and kind to all. The food is plain ole great! I love Mexican food, and Mr Taco has been consistently spot on with every dish I have had there. My fave is the California Burrito with steak. It reminds me of the places I used to hit in my youth at the wee hours of the morning (4 am) when of course it is the perfect time to ingest a Burrito as big as your head. The kids love this place as well. My daughter eats so many chicken nuggets that I seriously think she will turn into a chicken! Mr Taco has "naked" tenders...I am not naive, I am sure they are still not great for you, however I have to believe with the extra breading acting as a fat sponge, these have to be a little bit better for you. Plus for a once a month-ish treat, it fits the moderation rule. This place is certainly one of my favorites!

Mr Taco fills that niche between a Taco Bell and Frontera. Simple menu with your combos of tacos, burritos, enchiladas as well as fajitas and other things you wouldn't find at a fast food joint. Ah, but there's an added bonus to this place: the salsa bar. I ordered the Enchiladas Supremas - so I got an enchilada each of beef, chicken and cheese. Tasty tortillas covered in red sauce, cheese and sour cream. Cheesy goodness is a guilty pleasure of mine. Out of the 3, I preferred the chicken. Besides quick service, this place is clean too. Maybe it's because they have to constantly clean up the tables for the influx of people who work at the businesses and offices in the area. Either way, this isn't a bad place for a quick lunch.

So good. Real Mexican food. The small soft taco with real ingredients. Haven't had a taco like this since I left California. Stop if you want the real authentic stuff, not that chain "Mexican" food.

Just another mexican place run by mexicans that have regular mexican customers. I now understand how it feels to be a minority since I was outnumbered by mexicans at least 10 to 1. Ok as for the food and service it just... um, ok. The food wasn't bad enough for me to throw it away but good enough for me to keep on eating it. The enchilada had really dry beef and the mexican sandwich had a lot of really dry meat. Maybe they're cutting corners by getting cheap meats and freezing 'em?

Have to bring the community up to speed on the demise of this restaurant. One star is being kind. I have been eating at Mr Taco since it opened. It was a wonderful oasis of mexi-lisciousness in a sea of boogie alpharetta tex-mex holes. Not anymore. The only thing still good about this place is the salsa bar. The quality of the asada has become so bad the last two times I ate there I got a foul-tasting/bad piece. And it is now like stringy shoe-leather. The quality of everything is circling the drain. I attribute this to the high level of business from whiteys. They are also blowing delivery out the door to nearby offices, the runners are in and out non-stop during lunch. I used to see a large amount of latin customers dining there and now I mostly see corporate lunchers. I guess they now cater to the corporate lunch crowd and the nearby alpharetta suburbanites so they can serve whatever quality food they want. I will make the drive over to gwinexico to get my tacos. The final indignity was the stickers they used to raise the prices on the menu board. Quality declining, prioces increasing so often they are using stick on numbers. Adios Mr Taco.

I haven't eaten at this establishment, but after being passed off to two people and being put on hold (not a proper hold, but having the phone placed on a counter and hearing what everyone is saying) for a total of 10 minutes, I don't think I'll be trying this place... ever. You see, I called to ask them WHERE on North Point Pkwy they are located since I google mapped it and I have no idea. I'm not feeling that great but I have this voucher for $10 so I thought, why not? When the girl answered the phone I had no idea where I'd called. She was speaking Spanish and nowhere in there did I hear Señor or Taco. I asked her anyway because I figured maybe she had a brain fart. We all have those... No, she just told me to hold on after I asked her a few times where she was located. Then the next girl that picked up the phone (after about 10 minutes) Kept repeating "where" when I asked her. Then she said "no" when I said North Point Pkwy. It said they had more than one location so I thought maybe I'd called the wrong number. Then after trying to explain to her some more she was like, "Oh yeah, we're on North Point Pkwy." Okaaaaay. Didn't answer my question and she was about to put the phone down again... I told her thank you and hung up. Ordering food should not be this difficult.

Being from Texas, I have a certain standard when I eat Mexican food. I grew up with homemade tortillas in every Mexican restaurant I went to, and this place does not have it. I tried the carnitas and the carne asada when I went, and the meat was a really dry taste (like you would find at any other typical Mexican place in GA). If the meat was marinated, I did not taste it. The only reason I am giving this place 2 stars is because of the Salsa Bar, which is good. I think a Taco Cabana in a similar location would run this place out of business.

Absolutely delicious authentic food with awesome prices! My husband and I both ordered the Chimichanga dish which comes with one beef and one chicken, a side of beans and guacamole salad. We ordered to go, but he allowed us two salsas from the bar. They were awesome. The portion was very generous and the meat was so tender. I could tell it was marinated for a while and was delicious. For the two of it it was less that $15. We will definitely be returning!

I'm kind of addicted to Mr. Taco now. It's become a lunch favorite for sure. It's cheap and fast and the lunch chicken fajitas are very generous and also tasty. The salsa bar offers so many choices that I routinely over-sauce but it all turns out OK. My picky coworkers even like it here - they usually opt for a different lunch special and they're all huge and usually get finished. You do order at the counter but the food is more like at a casual sit-down restaurant. I like it. I'll probably be back a few times next week.

If you love mr taco, only go to the Roswell location, Not the alpharetta northpoint location! The meat was old,dry and tasteless ;and I was sick later on ,from only eating a few bites. When I complained to the manager, he said oh well with a attitude and walked away with no refund .Normally my friends n I go to the Roswell location and the food is amazing with great service, I love the soup and best guacamole n salsa around ! Apparently the owners divorced and the wife runs the Np location and doesn't have a qualified chef, and a manager who doesnt have manager skills; this why they are run so differently. I gave the Np location 1 star because the store is nicer looking, but the Roswell store gets 4 , and our loyalty !

This was my first visit to Mr. Taco. I was in Alpharetta with my family shopping and decided to get something to eat; we passed a Mr Taco and decided to give it a try. The food was affordable and good. Our meals and the service was reasonable fast. Four meals with a side of chips and queso dip for approximately $25...... awesome. From a value stand point Mr Taco is the place to go. The only negative the day we visit was the salsa bar was lacking and needed to be restocked with fresh salsa.

I like the fact that you help yourself to your drinks and you really dont even have a server, someone just brings you out your food ,so if your on a budget its not required to leave a tip although they do have a tip jar at the register. The employee's have been alway super friendly so I always wind up leaving a tip anyways. Pros: no tips required. the assortment at their buffet style bar of authentic mexican salsa are the best that I ever had. they have green. orange and red salse ranging from mild to super caliente. Good mexican food for the price you pay. Super nice employee's. cons:The beef that they use in their taco's is a little bland as if they could use more seasoning.

Okay, maybe it is hard to garauntee these are the best Tacos in Alpharetta, but they have several reasons why you could say that. First, all the food is very authentic Mexican. Second, they have a huge selection. Third, the place is very clean and the food is fresh. And finally, this place is so inexpensive compared to every other Mexican restaurant you can't afford not to try this place. Yes I mean a better value than every place even your fast food Mexican choice, Taco Bell. On top of the amazing food they have mango juice and several other flavors on rotation. The final reason you must try this place for lunch or dinner is that they have a salsa bar with 7 different salsas and 5 different condiments. If you like mild and are challenged with spicy food there are two choices for you. However, if you like spicy food you can't get these types of salsas at Moe's, Chipotle, On The Border or La Parilla. I give this place my highest rating possible, which is not something I do lightly.

Mmmmm... Mr Taco! I rate this 5 stars not because it's gourmet dining, but because it's really good food for the money. The chile relleno is the best I've had around here, and you can choose beef or chicken which is nice. And, it's just $3.25! Pair that with a $5 bowl of homemade chicken soup, and it's a great, fast, fresh meal.

After frequenting the Roswell location, I was happy to get a location closer to home. Hard to go wrong with the "Mexican Tacos" that offer corn tortilla, onions, cilantro, choice of meat, and access to the fresh and extensive salsa bar. Wholesome food (and veggies) at fast-food prices.

I'm so glad they opened in Alpharetta. Have been there twice and each meal was great. There prices are right and the food excellent. Love their chips salsa..just the perfect heat and extremely fresh. Best salsa I have found in the area.

  • Anuj S.

One of my friends' loves this place and frequently suggests it for lunch during the work week. When it comes to Mexican food, it's seldom that you find a really inventive place, so I've got to give Mr Taco a little credit. Rather than the traditional dine-in Mexican restaurant, it's set up more like a fast food place, but still a lot nicer than taco bell. Think of a standard Mexican restaurant wherein you order food from a cashier, get a number and then someone bring it out. Additionally, they've got a salsa bar in the middle for people to sample different salsas, kind of like a Moe's. As far as the food, I'm not too impressed. My friend always gets the mole (sp?) tacos and loves them; I guess I need to try them out. You don't get free chips here like you would at a usual mexican restaurant which has made my salsa bar moot.

I used to travel to Mexico on business about 8 times a year. I never pass-up the opportunity to eat good, authentic tacos. Mr Taco has some of the best in Metro Atlanta (outside of Buford Highway, of course). I'm glad to have the new location - closer and cleaner. I wish they would get a dedicated phone order person. Every time I walk up to the counter, I have to wait for them to take phone orders.

Wow! Moved from Texas 3+ years ago and this is finally the ONE - I'm excited! Had a great meal. Fast, cheap and YUMMY! We had tacos, burritos, taco salad. The kids enjoyed their selections and that is quite a feat. Will definitely be back to try some other menu items.

Went back and dined in. The food was really good (I got the #6) and the salsa bar was excellent. I think I tried every salsa witht he leftover chips from my spinach queso, which was also good. This place is my new favorite for cheap Mexican food.

I love the fact that Mr. Taco is near work and they deliver. Mexican food delivery should be much more available! I have always liked Mr. Taco, but they need to hire more delivery drivers, I guess. This is the second time now that it has taken over an hour to get my food - and it was cold! Gross! The driver said, "Sorry, a lot of deliveries today." I work less than a mile away. It used to take them about 20 minutes to bring the food. Really going downhill lately. I crave Mexican food often, but I think I won't get Mr. Taco for quite a while.... ugh.

  • Jennifer T.

This place is great. They have a huge hot sauce bar which is what takes it to the next level. I've tried several Mexican favorites, and while they do not necessarily distinguish themselves as a culinary experience, they are what is expected - which allows for the hot sauce bar to be the flair.

Absolutely delicious authentic food with awesome prices! My husband and I both ordered the Chimichanga dish which comes with one beef and one chicken, a side of beans and guacamole salad. We ordered to go, but he allowed us two salsas from the bar. They were awesome. The portion was very generous and the meat was so tender. I could tell it was marinated for a while and was delicious. For the two of it it was less that $15. We will definitely be returning!

Grew up in CA and miss the authentic Mexican food that is so readily available, there. Mr. Taco is awesome. Prices are good, service is speedy and friendly and they have a lot to choose from. This location is clean and the food is tasty. A lot of the customers were Mexican and if they're eating there, it's pretty authentic. Had a Carne Asada Torta and it was awesome. They have a salsa bar with a lot of different sauces to kick up your plate a notch, even more....Try it, you'll like it!

Horrible customer service skills by a punch of teenagers! Refuse to give us lunch price after being in line waiting for 10 minutes. Lunch ended 1 minute ago!!! Never coming back

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
