The sushi is crafted with the precision and virtuosity that can only come from years of dedication and diligence. The blood, sweat and tears poured into their craft is evident in each and every piece of delectable sushi. The calamari....well, I think I'll just use this ancient French proverb to sum it up: "Ce calamars est incroyable putin." Plus, the saki bombs are sooo fucking cheap!

This was one of those evenings where you walk into an establishment and immediately wonder if you made a bad decision. It was a Sunday evening around 6 PM, and we were one of maybe 4 tables in the entire restaurant. This was the first bad sign. We decided to stay since the reviews were decent, and my son was starving so it wasn't worth it to figure out any different options. We seated ourselves since the hostess seemed preoccupied....since it was so busy....? Server came over shortly and we honestly began to wonder if this man had taken a bath in the last 3 days. Second bad sign. Not the kind of smell you want to have around while eating. We put our orders in for chicken hibachi, some sushi rolls, and chicken lo mein for my son. Food came fairly quickly - (how could it not?) and the presentation was decent I guess. I took a bite into one of the sushi rolls and immediately said a prayer asking God to spare me of food poisioning. The tuna was not fresh, at all. But I had two other rolls to try so I didnt even mention it. They were below average to say the least. Im just glad I didnt find myself curled over by the toilet later in the evening. My GF said the chicken tasted like it had been frozen for days, and the rice was undercooked. We chalked this evening up as a loss, as I didnt even bother sending the food back in fear of what other food that may have already expired be placed in front of me. Will not be coming back here.

By far, the WORST sushi that I have ever had in my life. I have had sushi all over the country and planet and if this had been my first experience with sushi - I would NEVER try sushi again. I went in to dine early in the evening - I was the ONLY person in the restaurant yet the service was slow......really slow.....really slow and not attentive to see if I needed anything.......ever..... When my meal arrived, it looked good. But it had no flavor so I asked for ponzu (citrus flavored soy sauce). I was told that would be $1 extra - I responded, "I will pay extra for food with some taste". No response from my "server". The rice was only partially cooked and not edible. I left most of my food on my plate and my server did not question either if I wanted a box of if I was not satisfied. Horrible experience but I didn't get food poisoning so it wasn't a total bomb. Others seem to have gotten meals that were edible We will never, ever, ever, ever go back.

We sat in the dining room, not at a hibachi table, and were disappointed with the service. They had one waitress serving all tables in the dining room, so she was not very quick to refill drinks or come check on us during the meal. The food was alright. We weren't very impressed with our appetizer - the calamari. I enjoyed the summer roll, and my husband ordered General Tso's chicken for an entree. It was a generous portion and the flavor was good. Overall, our experience was OKAY. We used a scout mob on this visit, and without it, we probably would not come back.

The most pathetic place in terms of service....; I went there with my 4 other office colleagues.... and were surprised to see the place almost empty at lunch time, should have taken the hint and walked out....... The hostess was rude, she barely refilled our drinks. The food portions were so small that they were barely enough to feed my cat. All of us were looking at each other when the chef served us the rice and vegetables, the bigger surprise was when the entree portions were served, literally it was just 4-5 spoons of meat per person. When I protested the hostess offered to bring more rice but said they would charge extra.. I am definitely not going back there.

My husband and I come here every few months, and we drive more than 30 minutes to get here, it's that good! The staff is friendly, the chefs make great hibachi meals and the food always tastes fresh. I often leave with a doggy bag because the portions are large. Regarding some of the less positive reviews- those have never been my experience in the two years I've been coming here. They're honestly kind of confusing. I highly recommend this restaurant.

By far one of the worst restaurant my family and I have ever been to. I'm not a huge fan of hibachi, but I can honestly say that your hibachi was lacking flavor. Now, please remove sushi from your menu. It is an offense to call "that" sushi. I can get better quality sushi at Publix. :( Super overpriced and, the only thing that made our night less disappointing was the hibachi chef who was very pleasant.

This place is NASTY! We had a hibachi dinner a few weeks ago. It was the worst dinner I have ever had. We had lettuce that had been wilted and rice that was crunchy and seemed burned. The veggies were waaaay undercooked and the chicken was pretty much raw. It seemed frozen and it was mushy. Our waitress was also rude and inattentive and she seemed like she didn't like her job. I will never come back and never will recommend this place.

We went here with a groupon Friday night, we were there early and probably why we were the only ones there. Smelled like grease as soon as we walked in. Cook's name was John and he was probably the best thing about the meal. He was very pleasant and friendly. Food was good but too expensive. The shrimp hibachi dinner should not be almost 22.00 for shrimp, Kroger vegs and rice, shrimp is not that expensive. My partner got the tofu and it was ok but not worth the price. We wont be back for a while because even with the Groupon, I spent 40.00and we had water to drink.

Always great service, from the hostess to the Sushi chef. They always have fresh fish and fresh ingredients. Plus, they're affordable. Highly recommended.

Ladies and gentlemen, I suggest you not visit this place...let it die and return to the earth! I went here for lunch yesterday on a scoutmob discount. First after being seated, the wait staff was having a high school sort of discussion that meant I needed to wait to order until I heard a tale of vagina odor....yes, discussed in the restaurant! Then when the server finished her call on her iphone, I was provided service that was confused and bumbling. Not to even mention the lackluster sushi that literally had me vomiting as I left...twice! No, my dear yelpers, this place is a blemish on the art of Japanese cuisine.

Great food and service. The price is great too. It always seems deserted on the weekends so great place to eat with no wait!

We recently ate at another Japanese Steakhouse and Haiku is 20 times better. Great drinks and food! Every habashi dinner comes with fried rice and the portions are very large. I had the pork and shrimp dinner, my wife had steak and shrimp and my daughter had salmon and shrimp. All were great and not over cooked. We'll definitely come back hear again.

Went for lunch one day for hibachi! Even though they were slow, we were served in a very timely manner. The chef was amazing. Full of funny jokes, fun personality. And of course the food was amazing!

I only go here once in a blue moon with the hubby. Located behind what use to be bahama breeze. Service is always top notch, the server checked on us continuously throughout the meal. The chef could be more vocal but I didn't mind because I only talk to my hubby during meals. Same show though, gave 3 fire shows and tricks. Now onto the food.... I got the combo hibachi dinner, vegetables & scallops included with more veggies & fried rice. Also including the soup ( very good, flavored right) and the salad with ginger dressing (which was not heavy like other places). The scallops were cooked right & flavored just right. He did a great job on it. The fried rice was also yummy, I couldn't stop nibbling on it during the show. The veggies were a little on the bland side because he cooked it too long. He started on it after he cooked the seafood & meats. That's a no no for me, I like it fresh and crisp, not soft & mushy. Now to the alcohol... I had a green tea vodka which you could say is a interesting drink. Well it is. It has actual green tea inside along with green tea vodka! Imagine that! It is a must try drink if visiting here. I also had the banzai drink, if you can handle strong drinks then this is for you. It had plum wine & vodka in it, one sip and my head was already spinning. But quality wise, they are all great. I was surprised at the bill when it arrived. I was expecting it to be around $100 per typical for hibachi places. Bill proved me wrong, for two people plus 3 drinks, it was on average $65 for everything. Pretty great deal! Also be on the lookout for yelp offers or groupons for Haiku. Haiku Sushi & Steakhouse is a great establishment for the Alpharetta area. No disappointments here!!!

Looks like this place has gone downhill. I haven't been here for a while and today I saw the waitress stopped smiling as soon as she heard we all ordered water with lemon, like her senpai told her its a sign saying we are cheap. Which I'm not. I used to be a waiter so I know how tough it can be and I usually tip 15~20%. Anyway the hibachi chef couldn't or wouldn't divide the food evenly, the fried rice, veggies, and the meat, he just couldn't do it. Maybe he has his opinion about who should eat less so some of us received a large portion and some small. The snobby waitress never came back to refill our water or check on us. The main course meat portion is pethatically small in general Some of us receiced like 7or 8 small pieces diced chicken... and he forgot to serve us the ginger & thousand island sauce, I had to remind him while he was cleaning the grill. Finally the waitress came back with our bills, as she stuck the tab in front of me I swear it made a loud thud. By the time I really didn't want to waste any energy or time on her. After all we are done here. Will never come back.

So incredibly disappointed!! I would never recommend this place. I ordered the Coast to Coast ( which is $17.99 a roll ) according to the description it's lobster, Alaskan Snow crab, fresh avocado....well the avocado was brown, rice was hard and to add insult in the whole thing the "crab" was imitation!!! What the heck are they thinking?! Just plain terrible

This is a nice restaurant in Alpharetta. The staff are always energetic and nice. I have been here several times both for the hibachi and for the sushi. When you are at the hibachi table they always put on a good show and the food is delicious. The sushi is also very good. I ordered a jack and coke and it was pretty strong. I work down the street from this location so my coworkers and I go here for lunch sometimes. During lunch it is usually not very busy which is good if you don't want to spend too much time at the restaurant. The food is still delicious and there is a lot of it. You definitely leave here full and the price is very good.

We had a 7pm reservavation for hibachi. Now it's 7:55 and still have not seen the cook. Really

Two of us sat at the Hibachi side. The service was great. On time. Chef did cool tricks with fire and knife. I noticed chef used scoop of butter to cook shrimp, steak, veggies, scallop.

Was craving sushi, and found this place near the mall and a bunch if businesses. Got the Tokyo sun roll and salmon avo roll. For a place that is 7/8 hr drive to the ocean. The fish is pretty fresh. But they do skimp you a bit on the fish giving u a thin layer. So minus a star. But overall really good for sushi place around the area. Would come here again if I'm in the area and craving sushi.

The food here is lacking in flavor, and mediocre at best. The sushi is among some of the worst I have ever consumed. The only bright spot of the restaurant was that the hibachi chef was entertaining, and nice.

This is by far my favorite sushi place in the area, and my boyfriend agrees (which is saying a lot because we've been to quite a few places and hardly ever agree about food - he's a super picky eater)! Their lunch special is where it's at. I'd kill to find prices this low for sushi this good in St. Louis, where I'm currently living. For just under $15, you can get two of their premium rolls from a pretty substantial list. There are only a few not on the list, but one that is particularly noteworthy is the haiku roll. It's piled high with delicious shrimp, and the roll itself is to die for. Their mega crunch roll and yellow submarine roll are two of my other favorites - and both are on the lunch special list. They are soooooo good. I love the yellow submarine the most. I've never encountered another roll like it in my life! Dip it in a little siracha and you have the perfect sweet-spicy combo (which I personally love). Seriously, get in your car already, and give this place a try. Their sushi is delicious. Anyone who says otherwise either doesn't know a thing about sushi or lost their taste buds in a horrific accident. If you want literally some of the most fantastic food you've ever had in your life, come to haiku. It blows the competition out of the water!

Four of us dined here on a Saturday night. It was the first time for us all and we chose this spot because of their high reviews and that they were conveniently located a couple of miles from the movie theater we would be going to later. Upon walking in, I was impressed with the size of this place--it also feels clean and comfortable. Between one of my friends and I, we tried four rolls: -Haiku -Sweet Potato -Spider -Shrimp Tempura The sushi was delivered on an impressive boat, but otherwise left us feeling disappointed. Somehow, most of the sushi we ordered turned out to be very heavy and everything had a strong lemon-tart flavor--which is one of the last flavors I would expect to taste. We struggled to finish even half of what we ordered. Service was also very slow. At the time, there was a football game playing and it seemed most of the staff was more engaged in paying attention to the game than their patrons. This sushi place might pass the mark for Alpharetta, and it may be that sushi is not the highlight of their menu, but if I return I would most likely steer clear of their sushi and try other menu offerings.

This is my favorite sushi place in the entire Johns Creek/Alpharetta/Milton area. My girlfriend loves the lunch special. $14.50 for two premium rolls is an absolutely unbeatable deal. The sushi and vegetables here are very high quality, delicious, and extremely fresh. My favorite rolls are yellow submarine, mega crunch, and the haiku roll. Especially the haiku roll. It's piled high with coconut fried shrimp and absolutely to die for. They also have the best ginger salad dressing and miso soup that I've tried in all of Atlanta. The service is impeccable, the atmosphere is very upscale and modern, with traditional Japanese sushi house touches, such as the minimalistic brush stroke paintings on the walls. This is a great dinner restaurant and I highly recommend it to all sushi lovers. I recommend it even more highly for lunch. Try it. You won't be left disappointed.

I love this place as they tend to have great lunch specials (around $10). There are varieties to choose from, unlike most places were the selections are limited: rice, noodle, sushi. I really like their sushi special as it tends to come with 2 rolls. You can choose your sushi from the regular selections or the deluxe selections. This fills me up since there is usually a soup, salad, or rice side that accompanies the sushi. I love their hibachi lunch since this is the most filling. This special comes with soup, salad, and rice. Plan on taking a to-go box if you're a light eater like me. :) There are also entree items or the $7.95 lunch, 7 days a week, 7 choices--both with soup or salad. haikusteakhouse.com/wp-c… Make sure you check their lunch hours if you're planning on grabbing a late lunch. The only con about this place is that they close at 2:30 PM to prepare for dinner. The staff here is friendly and attentive as well. It has been awhile since I visited here, this is a great place to have a nice sit down lunch with coworkers or friends. I would definitely recommend this place!

Good little sushi place tucked away in a strip shopping center in Alpharetta. The sushi was unexpectedly good, the service as excellent and the prices were very reasonable. I am allergic to nori and they gladly substituted rice paper for me. Each of the rolls we tried were tasty and well-prepared. Check out their lunch specials . . . not to be missed!

Great spot for lunch! Great food & the price isn't bad at all! Great service as well, very attentive! I highly recommend the hibachi, the cooks are very friendly and entertaining!

This is a good Hibachi restaurant! Everything was cooked right in front of you. The soup had little fried French onion pieces, mushrooms and scallions and wasn't too salty at all. The salad had a delightful creamy ginger dressing with tomatoes and carrots. The scallops were tender and cooked just right. The chicken was a little bland but the fried rice made up for it! There were only 2 chefs on this Saturday night but it was around the holidays and they worked extremely fast. This restaurant is also on Scoutmob right now which gives you 50% off your meal up to $20!

Decent sushi at lunch. Salad was less like a ginger dressing than a mayo dressing. The rolls were tasty, however. Would try again for lunch but might get the soup instead.

I went here for lunch on a weekday and ordered the sushi lunch special. I had the spicy tuna roll and the mega crunch roll. The fish did not taste fresh, the crunch on my mega crunch roll was stale and the rice on the spicy tuna roll was dry as though it had been sitting out for a while. Even though this is Alpharetta, there are still several sushi restaurants that have way better quality.

I've been to a lot of hibachi restaurants in the Atlanta area. This is probably the best one so far. It's your typical hibachi setup but the service here is great. The cooks, the waiters/waitresses are friendly. It's overall a great place! I had the shrimp and chicken. It was cooked well and not overcooked. It wasn't too salty and had a great taste. The soup was great and the salad was great. If you are looking for a good quality hibachi place, definitely check this one out! It may still be on ScoutMob - 50% off

I don't live in the Alpharetta area, but apparently the bf likes to buy Groupons without checking the location so we came out to Alpharetta after some super cheap golf club buying. We walked in on a Thursday night with no reservation. Just like most other hibachi restaurants there are two sections, one exclusively to watch the hibachi chef do his thing and the other for private dining. The private dining side looked nice with its decor and dimly lit ambience, but we decided to watch the chef do his thing. This is the first place I've ever seen hibachi Tofu, so I had to check it out. And although I was a little apprehensive after watching him make it, it was great! Huge pieces of tofu with an outer layer of crispy goodness smothered in some sauce! If you love tofu or you want a non-meat protein choice, this is definitely a great one! Definitely something that sets them apart from most typical hibachi places! The service was pretty awesome as well! Our server and hibachi chef were both great (especially with the kids at our table), entertaining, and overall gave me a refreshingly happy vibe! Great service, great food!

Went here on a referral and it was great!!!! Service from hostess to waitress and chef was top notch. Waitress kept tabs on our table but wasn't annoying and she was very attentive. Chef was great providing fun and entertainment the whole evening. Food was great and very fresh. One of the best Hibachi restaurants I have been to. I will definitely recommend. Price was reasonable for a Hibachi restaurant and for the amount of food. Will add this place to my short list of place to frequent

We popped in to try something new and we're pleased with the both the food and service we received on a Friday night. There was a short wait but we seated fairly quickly. Our table mates all commented they had dined before and came back for more. Both the shrimp and scallops were huge and cooked nicely. Overall a very nice dinner out. Would suggest to management that they give the entire restaurant a good cleaning. Cob webs in the ladies room hanging from the ceiling - just needs a good cleaning. We'll most likely be back - a reasonably priced experience for us.

My husband and I have ordered pickup from this restaurant numerous times. It's always been very tasty, no complaints. The sushi rolls and appetizers have generally seemed fresh and well made. We've even ordered the hibachi (one with steak, one with chicken) for pickup, which was great and came with lots of food. We dined in the restaurant with friends for the first time this week. They had the chef's choice of sushi and some hot sake, which they enjoyed. We got the beef negimaki (delicious!) and some rolls to split. The restaurant was fairly busy but the service was good overall. We were seated quickly and everything seemed very clean, and not too loud. We'll definitely eat in the restaurant again.

Haiku roll was awesome. The Hibachi cook was talented in his craft. The steak and shrimp was flavorful. Service was great! Definitely recommend this establishment .

My brother would probably give this place a 4.5. The service was excellent. Our waitress, Mary, was very sweet and also very friendly. She made the experience all the more wonderful. We went in on a Saturday night around 8 and there wasn't too many people there surprisingly. That may have been why the food came out so quickly. The food. We ordered the fried oysters, the haiku roll, and the godzilla roll. LOVED the Godzilla roll as well as the fried oysters. In comparison the haiku roll wasn't nearly as good. The prices were kind of high, but luckily with ScoutMob it was 50% of our final bill. This is definitely one of the better sushi places in the Alpharetta area and better than a few places I've tried in Atlanta, though my all time favorite is still Mikata's in Macon.

So normally we get the Sushi. This time we wanted to try the Hibachi. It was really good. The portions were sized well and cooked to order. I ordered the strip steak and my wife ordered the Filet. Both were very tasty and very tender. We talked with the manger for a little while about their new Spot On loyalty program and the server was very friendly. He actually remembered what sushi rolls we ordered last time. For the Sushi order the dragon and Godzilla roles. Shout to to yelp for the discount!

Came here around 9pm on a Monday night for hibachi. Service was very attentive and our cook was friendly and funny. Food was great and steak was cooked a perfect medium. Our cook was proud of the food he was serving...I worked many years in food service and that really jumped out at me. I will definitely return even though I've already used the $30 groupon

I used to come here when it was Yamato and this was my first visit since it became Haiku. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant is now open and very clean. I must admit that I miss the private feel of when it was Yamato. The food wasn't the best. It was by no means bad, but not what I was hoping. I had the red snapper and a variety of sushi rolls. The sushi was great! This could be a fund dinner for small children to attend if you can get them to stay in their high chair... unlike mine.

New favorite sushi spot! We had the lunch special with spicy tuna rolls and one of the specialty rolls, and it was very tasty, way above and beyond what you usually got. They were knowledgeable about gluten-free eating and even had gluten-free soy sauce, which is a big bonus.

A friend and I visited the restaurant on Christmas Day evening. I had the Pad Thai and my friend ate the Nabeyaki Udon. Both dishes were fresh. I would say that the Pad Thai needed more flavor...but I did order it non spicy...so maybe that was the difference. Prices are reasonable and they have a lot to choose from on the menu. Great service and excellent location. I was happy that they were open on Christmas.

I'm visiting this area from up north (son's baseball tournament) and i have to say i was pleasantly surprised. The sushi was fresh, beautifully prepared and really tasty. I had one of the big rolls with spicy tuna, jalapeño peppers and some spicy mayo. I also had a house salad with the best ginger dressing I've ever tasted. Really. Service was fine and friendly and if I'm down here next year, I come again--this time for the hibachi steak.

Our experience was very poor from slow service despite a near empty dining room to badly over and undercooked food that was either very bland or over peppered. The four dollar noodle add-on was an embarassment of soggy spaghetti. The vegetables tasted like fish. We had ordered a side of mushrooms and they never came but they were still on the bill. It took 20 minutes to wait while they corrected it. The woman next to us ordered two kids meals (her kids are both obviously under 10) and got charged for two adult meals. For two of us we spent 96 on two meals, a sushi roll, a 7.50 sake and tip. To think this was a hundred dollar meal is mind blowing given all the other choices for great food in Atlanta!

Bf and I made reservations at 8pm during valentine's day. They were so disorganized and chaotic, letting walk-ins sit first. Food was bland. Bf ordered a phad Thai which we waited over 45 mins for and tasted like cardboard. Not going again.

I've been to many sushi restaurants around the country and this one was simply ok. I'm not too fond of hibachi as a whole, so I opted for the regular old restaurant style. There was ONE waitress taking care of 12 tables on the Saturday AFTER Valentine's Day (how does this happen?). I ordered shrimp/veggie tempura and the oil was ever present with each bite. Still hoping for the best, I went ahead and ordered a few different types of sushi, one word: Meh! It was simply edible, nothing grand about it at all! I was excited to have dessert because I've had fried cheesecake elsewhere and it was DIVINE! The dessert menu failed to include the drizzling of raspberry sauce that accompanied the dessert, and our poor waitress was so overworked she didn't even have time to check on us or our drinks. Back to the dessert, Meh! The ice cream was halfway melted and at that point I was more than ready to leave! I would NOT recommend this restaurant and I am still in search of a good sushi restaurant in the Atlanta area. Help!

We brought our 11 yr old son and 2 of his friends for his Birthday Hibachi dinner. Our waiter was excellent. Our hibachi chef kept us entertained and was especially great with the boys. My husband ordered sushi and liked it. The hibachi dinners were fresh and the portions large. I had the shrimp and it was delicious. They have a nice wine selection. They truly wanted to make us happy and it showed by their service and fresh food. I highly recommend them! Will be back!

Great sushi and fast service. Did not have hibachi, so cannot comment on that. The pork dumpling soup was delish.

Epic suck. Food is overpriced and tasted like cafeteria Asian cuisine. Fried rice was bland. Miso Salmon was gluey with salmon that tasted like it had been frozen and thawed and frozen and thawed... Tepid food served on cold plates. Yech!

Decided to order from the "new place" in the north point area. It's close to my house, So I figured I could drop in after work and grab some take out. The staff was very nice, the food was prepared on time and the food was excellent. Although I didn't stay for dine in I did notice a nice bar, sushi and hibachi area. I definitely recommend this new place.

I have gone here 4 times now. Since I've moved to GA I've been keeping an eye out for a really good sushi place and this is it. I love the specialty rolls here. I am always leave satisfied. The customer service from some of the waiters/waitresses are outstanding. I mentioned how I love the "yum yum" sauce and my waiter brought me two to-go containers of it without even asking. This is the sushi place for me from now on in this area.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE HAIKU! They have amazing food and amazing service. The Dynamite Roll is my #1 favorite roll i have ever had in my whole life. One of the owners, Ben, is so kind to all of his customers. He always gives me and my family free Gyoza. He has done great with this business and I know Haiku will go far... It better!

We come to lunch here at least 3x a week. The sushi is always fresh, it gets to the table fast and they dont hurry you. The atmosphere is nice and relaxing. I love the very high ceilings and dim lighting. It is a nice break from work. The management team is great. Lunch is 8 to 14 dollars and it is plentiful, excellent quality. I recommend this place often. I have not had the hibachi. I keep telling myself to try it, but the sushi is so excellent, i find it hard to eat anything else.

Two of us sat at the Hibachi side. The service was great. On time. Chef did cool tricks with fire and knife. I noticed chef used scoop of butter to cook shrimp, steak, veggies, scallop.

Decent restaurant. Had a Groupon for hibachi, so decided to try it. I got a sushi roll, but honestly didn't like it. The fish did not taste fresh. I would not get sushi here again. The hibachi was pretty good. Lots of food. Also came with soup and salad. I got the salmon teriyaki. It was okay. Service was good! If you like hibachi, I'm sure you would like this place. Just didn't blow me away.

One of my favorite Alpharetta sushi spots. Akeno, the sushi chef, is the man and really knows what he is doing. Their Volcano roll is one of the best i've ever had (and I have a lot of volcano rolls around the city). The lunch special with the pick 2 sushi + soup or salad is an unbeatable deal! The service has always been good and they will start to remember you if you are a repeat customer like I am! One of my favorite things about the management is if we bring a big group and the tables are available, he will set them up in a square, not a long line so we can all visit while we eat. Great restaurant.

Haiku is a decent Japanese restaurant with a large menu that is well executed. They offer an extensive sushi selection, prominently feature hibachi, and also have a good range of Americanized quasi-Asian dishes like Mongolian Beef and Pad Thai. Service has usually been pleasant but slow during my visits. The place has almost always been nearly empty of customers. The food quality is very good. I usually order sushi and have tried a variety of simple sashimi and rolls. These items are well priced and a standard sushi roll like tuna or salmon-avocado cost about $5-6 each. I don't like specialty rolls with mayonnaise, crispy bits and assorted sauces on them, but for patrons who really want a Godzilla Funtime Surprise roll they will cost between $12-15 each. Personally, I'd rather have two or more well made simple rolls for that price. Hibachi and dinner entrees are tasty and generously portioned, but they are expensive. Fortunately most people will be able to make two meals out of an entree here. They are happy to provide to-go boxes. Haiku offers many different discount offers through coupons and social media. Currently there is a Yelp deal, a Scoutmob offer and I receive BOGO entree coupons in the mail about every other week. Using one of these discount offers makes dining at Haiku a fairly affordable experience. I wouldn't recommend eating here without a discount offer though, as the cost for basic menu items is prohibitive--unless you stick to the basic sushi menu. The restaurant seems clean, the staff is always pleasant and I've never had a bad meal. This isn't a place that I would rave about but it's a solid standby when I'm craving Japanese food.

This place was just ok. Dined here with my wife for "date nite". We both like sushi so we decided to give it a go. We were seated at the habachi grill along with a few other couples. They all had drinks and cocktails and it took about ten minutes for anyone to get our drink order then another ten minutes to actually get our drinks. I decided on habachi and my wife on a few signature sushi rolls. The chef on our grill was fun and interactive but the food was just average. I had asked 2 separate employees for more spicy mustard but never received it. My wife's sushi was great. She loved her crunchy roll! When I had asked for the bill, it had everyone's order (8 people total) on my check. Then it took the waiter 15 minutes to return with the proper bill. Overall, I would come back for the food but definitely not for the service.

Came here for the Scoutmob deal. Even with Scoutmob, this place is really expensive. I'm guessing their prices are based on their proximity to North Point Mall. It certainly couldn't be because of the sushi which was really unimpressive. Sure, it was fresh, but that's all it had going for it. We were served very thin, jagged pieces. I ordered the chirashi which features more than enough food at most sushi places. Here they charge $18 for imitation crab and a few thin slivers of mackerel, tuna, salmon, yellowtail and white tuna. No egg, squid, eel, clam nor octopus like you find at other places at significantly lower prices. With much better options in the area for sushi, I'll choose to frequent those places instead.

I'm surprised this place has such a high rating. I found this place to be so-so based on average sushi and less than average experience. Service: mediocre...while I enjoyed our servers friendly demeanor and consistent smiles (a plus!), she forgot about us after placing our initial drink orders. We had to flag her down to get our check. In addition, yelp's check in offer (buy one get one free sushi) does NOT apply here. We checked in on the yelp app, showed her the redemption screen, and were immediately told (without her even looking at it) that all deals or offers needed to be printed out to be accepted. Umm...how can we print out a mobile/yelp check-in offer? Decor/ambiance: very chic...I like it! Lots of wood and deep, rich colors gives this place a luxurious vibe. It isn't so fancy that you should dress semi formal here, but its still fancy enough where its no place for sweatpants or jeans/t shirt. Food: I can't speak for the hibachi but their sushi is a mixture of decent and average. Nothing particularly stood out to me flavor wise. Quality wise, the fish is good. I didn't detect any weird/funky taste/smell. We ordered the angel roll (8 pcs)---decent, spicy tuna (6 pcs)---average, california (6 pcs)---average, & rainbow (8 pcs)---average. Pricing: sushi can get expensive. Most of their fancier rolls range from $12+ . I did see 2 rolls for $10. Overall: I can't see myself going out of my way to return, but I wouldn't rule it out if someone else footed the bill. If there is a next time, I would opt for the hibachi.

This is an amazing Jewel of Alpharetta. If you want great quality if food, amazing sashimi cuts, fast service, I recommend to go to Haiku. Best recommendation: name your price with sushi chef and he will take care of you.

My mom and I came here for the scout-mob deal around mid-afternoon.. We were the only people here, I'm assuming because of the time of day and it's bad location. Our waitress was kind and made sure we were taken care of, especially with my refills. The atmosphere was very nice, a lot better than I expected. We were getting a lot of looks from different employees, which was a little weird. I ordered the shrimp tempura, which was very good, but the dipping sauce had a little too much rosemary. My mother got sushi, and she seemed to like it. I didn't ask her too much about it. Very extensive menu.

This restaurant has been consistent since the day it opened. Good hibachi with great service and fresh sushi. All at an affordable price! (especially if you have a coupon) I recommend this place to anyone who likes hibachi but hates the high prices.

If you're looking for sushi, the Haiku roll is probably the best sushi I've had anywhere in this area. Unfortunately I devoured it too fast to take a photo! And a bonus: I always get coupons in the mail - check that coupon packet!

I'm going to preface this review by saying that I've been here 3 times in the past month. The first two times were great, both chefs were friendly and energetic and portions were more than fair (and they don't charge you for fried rice). The food is good greasy hibachi. Now onto this visit...the boyfriend and I go, expecting the same caliber of chef and food. Trying to be healthy, I order the vegetable entree with an add-on of double vegetables. This proved to be a mistake as apparently vegetables with double vegetables (yup approximately 3 portions of vegetables) at Haiku means a minutely larger portion of vegetables than everyone else (who ordered meat entrees). And that's it. Ok so this happened last time I ordered vegetables too but the chef was awesome so I shrugged it off. This time, I mentioned it to the chef. Instead of the cordiality one expects, he proceeded to insist that I was wrong and that he was right. Even the waitress was flabbergasted. 15 minutes later after he was done cooking and cleaning, he comes back and asks if I understood the situation. Yes, thanks chef, for your condescending attitude. Did I forget to mention that during the entire "cooking display show demo thing" he probably said 5 words in total? We escalated this to the hostess who tried to get a discount for us from the manager but since we had already paid, they couldn't do anything (which if they really tried, they could've refunded and then added the discount but whatever). Also mentioned the chef being rude and the hostess brushed it off as him being an older asian gentleman set in his ways. So go here to get your hibachi fix but god forbid you get a curmudgeonly old chef. Because of this past visit, it will also be my last visit.

Came here on a whim - needed to grab some dinner before heading to a work function. Ordered the steamed Gyoza and crispy crab rolls to start. Both very good - the Gyoza dough was rolled nice and thin, whatever they seasoned the meat with gave it a very good flavor; crab rolls were nice and crispy, the sauce seemed like it was made in house (and very good). For sushi - we ordered the summer roll, yellow submarine roll, and spicy tuna roll. Sushi was good and fresh. The spicy tuna roll was different than what my husband usually gets - it was like a tartare wrapped in seaweed and rice - but still very good. Will definitely return to try the hibatchi!

I has the best dinner at Haiku tonight! Richard cooked for us and my rare filet was perfection, the fried rice was awesome and of course the veggies were great. My husband said his shrimp was the best he'd had. Thanks Richard! We'll be back!

It wasn't super crowded when I came for lunch one day. The one time I've been here it was okay. I'm not sold on it yet so I'll give it 3 stars. The current summary has it at 4.5 stars with just under 20 reviews. I'll try it again but I'm skeptical Pros: Wide assortment of sushi combos and bento box options for lunch. Cons: Just seems okay. A little stronger emphasis on ambience in proportion to the food. The hostess is wearing a kimono for example. Personally, a place that's a dive is fine with me as long as the food is great. If you have the food down, then worry about the aesthetics, etc.

I came here because this place was referred by one of my coworkers. This hibachi was one of the best. The food was very tasty and the server and cook were very attentive to my groups demands and needs. Excellent Service. Next time I will try the sushi, I will be back!

Delicious food and great service. There isn't rly anything that I have tried that I did not fully enjoy. Every time we come it's a treat.

Reasonably priced sake. They don't over charge for the premium sake like most places in the area.

Great Hibachi grill. This is just North of North point mall. Service was great and food was really good at moderate price for Japanese steak house. They also have a really reasonable kids menu.

Didn't try the hibachi, only went for sushi and drinks. We started off with the calamari which was seriously GROSS. I was so disappointed, I love calamari. We had The One roll & The Crunch roll. The Crunch roll was amazing! The One roll... not so much. And it was more expensive for not that much of it. Get the tiramisu martini! Update: tried the hibachi and it was great. The service still needs improvement, most of the servers have no personality.

I went here on 3/15 because I was staying at the Embassy Suites that was right across the street (it was taunting me from my room). It's a Japanese steakhouse so they have a sushi side and a hibachi side. I am not a fan of sushi so I did the hibachi sit in meal where they do the show while they cook your meal. I've seen the show before (go to one Japanese steakhouse, you've already seen it lol...well unless you go to Benihana...never go to Benihana). I was really just concerned about my food and eating. The food was very good! I ordered the hibachi steak dinner. Be careful, they have three different steaks on the menu and they are all different prices. If you notice your bill is expensive, it's because you accidentally ordered the fillet mignon instead of just the steak. The staff is very nice here; everyone greeted me and also said have a good night when I left. They are also helpful in telling you about what's on the menu. Now back to the food: with the hibachi, you get rice, vegetable stirfry, and then the meat/seafood you chose. It was good in restaurant! I was happy when I left. The only thing I would say is that this meal doesn't make good take out. I didn't get to eat all of my food due to the large portion so I wanted to take it with me. Hey I paid for it! It has a strong smell to it after you take it out of the restaurant which may not be pleasant to some (I stopped caring after a while). Plus the juices from your protein mixes with everything so your food may not taste that great. Overall, I thought this was a really good restaurant and I do plan on going back to sit in and eat. I may not go the take out route lol but it's a nice atmosphere and it's friendly and I'm happy with this place. I'm looking forward to my next visit.

My wife and I went for a sushi lunch. The portions were a very good value. We both got two sushi rolls for only eight dollars per person, with choice of soup, salad or rice. The rolls themselves were good, and we will definitely be back.

My girlfriend and I went in on a Saturday evening for dinner around 7 pm. It was quite busy, but we were seated right away. We ordered some udon thinking it was a the soupy kind, but ended up with the non soupy udon. We were caught by surpise when we received the food. I can't speak for the sushi but the Udon was good, a bit salty for my taste, but still tasty. The staff was really nice. They were busy so the manager stepped in. He was a nice and friendly guy, gave us a discount because we ordered the wrong food.

Went here originally for the hibachi grill but elected to dine on the regular side and ordered sushi. I was very impressed with the quality and flavor of the sushi rolls. This place has a great selection and delicious to eat. Highly recommend :)

Great food, great people, great experience. The Hibachi NY Strip and Hibachi Shrimp were both great, and our hibachi chef was very talented and friendly. The green tea mochi ice cream was also very good. This place is great for date night or for a group of friends/family. My new go-to Japanese restaurant.

The decor was nice but the acoustics are horrible. The filet mignon I ordered as a hibachi plate was not great and had NY strip mixed in. The flavors were ok and the serving portion for a $23 plate was small.

Went on a Friday night, my wife and I were looking for something a little different so we did the Hibachi. We had made a last minute reservation and was seated as soon as we got there. They were very friendly and the service was good. We both had Shrimp & Filet which was cooked correctly, it came with a very tasty soup, salad which had to much dressing, fried rice and veggies. The veggies were bland, they needed a little something added to them, serving them last did not help. I must say the drinks were strong and good.

The sushi was rather boring. The chicken hibachi was very good. I didn't like having both the sauces in same divided dish. I like to pour yum yum over my rice.

Service was very slow considering the place had maybe 5 tables. The wasabi was extremely weak. I used 5x the amount I would have used at another establishment. Heck, Lobster House buffet has stronger... On top of it all, the sushi slices were tearing in the middle and the sushi rice was not holding up underneath it. There are too many other Sushi places to come back to this one. Sry.

Ive been going here for about one year and this last visit simply ruined it for me. The server seemed rushed and irritated even though the restaurant was empty. In the past Ive seen some awesome tricks and had some even better food, but not this time. I ordered filet mignon and scallops and I was so disappointed. The filet had a terrible rotten smell to it, the scallops were rubbery and not cooked fully and my vegetables were covered in sauce and cooked waaaay too long. I ordered my filet medium rare and it came almost well done and it was covered in butter(as if to cover up the rotten smell, and it didnt work.) I might try it again and blame it solely on the chef but the whole restaurant felt.....dead. It was too quiet and the food was terrible. To add to all the let down, my chef was some young guy who just wouldnt stop talking. He seemed really friendly but I just wanted a good show and good food. Thanks for the let down Haiku.

Lots of fun! Large open hibachi grill area. Had a great time! The staff is very easy going and this place is hidden from the road so you will pass it if you are not looking closely. The chef was very friendly and fun! They really make sure as a team here to be of service which means a great deal to me! I loved the shrimp and steak here. Very full of flavor. The soup and salad was also nice! The fried rice was good also. Great selection of beer and wine along with mixed drinks. They also gave us 20% off from a Yelp coupon we had on our phone.

I had the chicken hibachi last night, and got food poisoning. I have no idea what they did to the chicken. We went to a movie right after our meal (to the new AMC by North Point Mall, which deserves 5 stars), and had to leave because I was so sick from my meal. The taste itself was two stars. The fried rice was like soy sauce mixed with boil-in-a-bag rice. The chicken wasn't cleaned well, and at times I was chewing on tendons. I have no idea where these 4 star reviews are coming from. Maybe I caught this place on a bad night, but I will never give this place my business again. There are much better Japanese steakhouses in the area. 2 star taste, 1 star reduction for the food poisoning.

Honestly I was so excited to get to this restaurant after reading so many wonderful reviews but when we ordered 4 delux rolls, all 4 had something fried in it. Everything is fried. And here I was hoping to eat some awesome high quality Japanese food. I would not recommend unless you love deep fried food.

2nd time here but just concerned that chef cooked food way too fast. Used to onions being cooked a bit longer and steamed browned colored rice as opposed to TRUE fried rice!!

After one visit, this is one of my new favorite Japanese restaurants in the Atlanta metro area. Everything was fresh and made to order. The seaweed salad was well seasoned and came with a large portion for only $5! The sashimi was fresh and also boasted large cuts of fish. Both of our meals included soup and ginger dressing salad. Every dish was well prepared with attention to detail. Our waitress was attentive and she was happy to navigate us to some of the house specialities as this was our first visit. We will definitely be returning!
(5)
Blaze D.
Server was very nice. If you're lucky you might have Tim as your chef. I actually understood his jokes and he cooked everything to order. Meat and vegetables were fresh. Sushi looked really good but we didn't have any. I haven't been to hibachi in a while but I remember it being more expensive. My gf had steak and scallops and I steak and shrimp. It was amazing that our whole meal was under $50.

Great place with delicious food that is not super greasy like some hibachi places. I did not have the sushi, but some at our table did and it looked good and they said it tasted great. Service was attentive and we thoroughly enjoyed our chef who was very entertaining. We went for the first time a week ago and had a coupon that made the entire meal for 3 of us (all hibachi) just shy of $60. Not bad for dinner! I would have been satisfied with paying full price at another time, because the food is so good. It is a clean restaurant and was pretty busy for a Sunday night. I will definitely go back. The miso soup and the ginger dressing was some of the best I have had in the metro Atlanta area and definitely OTP.

(1)Flynn H.
(3)Nick A.
(1)Ashley M.
(5)Paula F.
(1)Jake M.
(1)Teri S.
(2)Sheila S.

(1)Wanda M.
Great food and service. The price is great too. It always seems deserted on the weekends so great place to eat with no wait!
(5)Dale H.
(5)Jaimie M.
Went for lunch one day for hibachi! Even though they were slow, we were served in a very timely manner. The chef was amazing. Full of funny jokes, fun personality. And of course the food was amazing!
(5)Mindy R.
(4)Pete L.
(1)Suni S.
(1)Paul M.
(5)Kevin K.
We had a 7pm reservavation for hibachi. Now it's 7:55 and still have not seen the cook. Really
(2)Chisung L.
Two of us sat at the Hibachi side. The service was great. On time. Chef did cool tricks with fire and knife. I noticed chef used scoop of butter to cook shrimp, steak, veggies, scallop.
(4)Bryant C.
(4)Derek O.
The food here is lacking in flavor, and mediocre at best. The sushi is among some of the worst I have ever consumed. The only bright spot of the restaurant was that the hibachi chef was entertaining, and nice.
(2)Austin Elizabeth H.
(5)Ashley M.
(2)Brian H.
Went at lunch today for hibachi. Good was good but there was no "show" at hibachi like I'm used to. Disappointed. Not sure I'll be back.
(2)Nick L.
(5)Andrea M.
(4)Zoie O.
Really good food and hospitality. Our server and chef were amazing. I recommend getting the salmon or shrimp.
(5)Peggy H.
(4)Jerry N.
Great spot for lunch! Great food & the price isn't bad at all! Great service as well, very attentive! I highly recommend the hibachi, the cooks are very friendly and entertaining!
(4)Jen L.
(4)Gale S.
Decent sushi at lunch. Salad was less like a ginger dressing than a mayo dressing. The rolls were tasty, however. Would try again for lunch but might get the soup instead.
(3)Elizabeth H.
(2)Randy H.
It may still be on ScoutMob - 50% off
(5)Diana L.

Sushi was not fresh. Make all the difference. The cooked food was good. Still wouldn't be sushi place I would go back.

(5)Golda A.
(4)Ralph I.
(4)Chris D.
wife and I ordered the sashimi combination. the soup and salad were great. the decor was clean and very nice. spiny tuna roll was not pleasing. salmon avocado roll was great. the sashimi i had better.
(3)Lindsay D.
(5)Anna M.
We enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The crab roll appetizer was delicious. Great dipping sauce. The tuna tataki was good, the jalapenos added quite a kick. We had 2 deluxe sushi rolls and really enjoyed them. Service was good.
(5)Vikira K.
Excellent food, sushi, service, and chef. They were happy we were there, that's was nice. Chef was very interactive and funny. He also knew how to cook. Mary our sever was informative and very attentive.
(5)Jillian B.
(3)Beth B.
New favorite sushi spot! We had the lunch special with spicy tuna rolls and one of the specialty rolls, and it was very tasty, way above and beyond what you usually got. They were knowledgeable about gluten-free eating and even had gluten-free soy sauce, which is a big bonus.
(4)Berrian H.
This is one of the nicest hibachi restaurants I've been to since my first time when I was 17 and it was at Kobe. Service is great! Food is great! Richard, our chef was awesome! I will be visiting this location as often as I can.
(5)John H.
Great Calamari Hibachi!
(4)Chriss F.
(4)Michael H.
(5)Brad W.
(1)Tig G.
Sushi is wonderful. I have tried every roll they offer and all are great.
(5)Korderick T.
Food is always great and fresh! They really do an excellent job and the salad and rice are delicious!
(5)Edith P.
Bf and I made reservations at 8pm during valentine's day. They were so disorganized and chaotic, letting walk-ins sit first. Food was bland. Bf ordered a phad Thai which we waited over 45 mins for and tasted like cardboard. Not going again.
(1)Aliya B.
Help!
(2)Ellen M.
(5)melanie h.
Great sushi and fast service. Did not have hibachi, so cannot comment on that. The pork dumpling soup was delish.
(4)JN R.
Epic suck. Food is overpriced and tasted like cafeteria Asian cuisine. Fried rice was bland. Miso Salmon was gluey with salmon that tasted like it had been frozen and thawed and frozen and thawed... Tepid food served on cold plates. Yech!
(1)Scott L.
Excellent sushi, and top service. Be sure to try the Spicy Crab Salad--awesome!
(5)Mark H.
Good service but average sushi. Overpriced "deluxe" rolls. Would go back but prefer other sushi in the area.
(3)Tina C.
I won't go anyplace else for sushi. The Dynamite roll is the best sushi roll I've ever had. Recenly tried the Hibachi side of Haiku and it was excellent!
(5)Jen R.
(5)Drew C.
(5)M D.
Been there twice - once for hibachi and once for sushi. Food is great and service is excellent. Highly recommend the place.
(4)J R.
The food and service were fine. We loved the sushi, but when 2 out of our party of 4 got sick, something just is not right here. Never coming back!!
(1)Michael R.
It better!
(5)Ashleigh C.
Amazing food! Service is fast, friendly, and they are extremely accommodating! The hibachi portions are huge and the sushi is fresh and delicious! We will return again and again!
(5)Simone M.
(5)Ashley T.
(5)Joe C.
(1)Jake M.
(1)Rob G.
(1)Flynn H.
(3)Nick A.
(1)Ashley M.
(5)Paula F.
(1)Teri S.
(2)Sheila S.
Always great service, from the hostess to the Sushi chef. They always have fresh fish and fresh ingredients. Plus, they're affordable. Highly recommended.
(5)N. Larry B.
(1)Wanda M.
Great food and service. The price is great too. It always seems deserted on the weekends so great place to eat with no wait!
(5)Dale H.
(5)Jaimie M.
Went for lunch one day for hibachi! Even though they were slow, we were served in a very timely manner. The chef was amazing. Full of funny jokes, fun personality. And of course the food was amazing!
(5)Paul M.
(5)Kevin K.
We had a 7pm reservavation for hibachi. Now it's 7:55 and still have not seen the cook. Really
(2)Mindy R.
(4)Pete L.
(1)Suni S.
(1)Austin Elizabeth H.
(5)Ashley M.
(2)Brian H.
Went at lunch today for hibachi. Good was good but there was no "show" at hibachi like I'm used to. Disappointed. Not sure I'll be back.
(2)Nick L.
(5)Chisung L.
Two of us sat at the Hibachi side. The service was great. On time. Chef did cool tricks with fire and knife. I noticed chef used scoop of butter to cook shrimp, steak, veggies, scallop.
(4)Andrea M.
(4)Zoie O.
Really good food and hospitality. Our server and chef were amazing. I recommend getting the salmon or shrimp.
(5)Peggy H.
(4)Jerry N.
Great spot for lunch! Great food & the price isn't bad at all! Great service as well, very attentive! I highly recommend the hibachi, the cooks are very friendly and entertaining!
(4)Jen L.
(4)Gale S.
Decent sushi at lunch. Salad was less like a ginger dressing than a mayo dressing. The rolls were tasty, however. Would try again for lunch but might get the soup instead.
(3)Elizabeth H.
(2)Bryant C.
(4)Derek O.
The food here is lacking in flavor, and mediocre at best. The sushi is among some of the worst I have ever consumed. The only bright spot of the restaurant was that the hibachi chef was entertaining, and nice.
(2)Randy H.
It may still be on ScoutMob - 50% off
(5)Diana L.
(5)Joseph U.
Sushi was not fresh. Make all the difference. The cooked food was good. Still wouldn't be sushi place I would go back.

The sushi rolls are by far the very best we have ever tried, and the Hibachi was entertaining and delicious. Highly recommend :)

(4)Jessica H.

(4)Elizabeth N.

(5)Anthony L.
Delicious food and great service. There isn't rly anything that I have tried that I did not fully enjoy. Every time we come it's a treat.
(5)Rosy B.
Reasonably priced sake. They don't over charge for the premium sake like most places in the area.
(4)John G.
Great Hibachi grill. This is just North of North point mall. Service was great and food was really good at moderate price for Japanese steak house. They also have a really reasonable kids menu.
(5)Courtney L.

(4)Melissa I.
Went here originally for the hibachi grill but elected to dine on the regular side and ordered sushi. I was very impressed with the quality and flavor of the sushi rolls. This place has a great selection and delicious to eat. Highly recommend :)
(4)Robbie W.
(5)David H.
The decor was nice but the acoustics are horrible. The filet mignon I ordered as a hibachi plate was not great and had NY strip mixed in. The flavors were ok and the serving portion for a $23 plate was small.
(3)Tom M.
(4)Trisha K.
The sushi was rather boring. The chicken hibachi was very good. I didn't like having both the sauces in same divided dish. I like to pour yum yum over my rice.
(4)William S.

(1)Chris D.
(4)Mitch S.
(1)Julie L.
(1)C B.
2nd time here but just concerned that chef cooked food way too fast. Used to onions being cooked a bit longer and steamed browned colored rice as opposed to TRUE fried rice!!
(3)Kevin S.
Richard the Chef we had on our second visit was excellent. The food is always excellent and the atmosphere is nice. One of my favorites.
(5)Jen L.
(5)Blaze D.
(5)Kim D.
(4)Annie N.
Delicious food and friendly staff :) Would recommend this place anytime!
(5)C D.
We have dined her at least 4 times and have had excellent service and food each and every time. Everyone working there (servers, chefs, hostess) are attentive and friendly. I highly recommend this place.
