Love, Love, Love this place! It reminds me of my grandpas house, kind of tacky italian decor but the food is authentic! If you have not eaten here you must try it. Veal is excellent and the sausage and peppers is just like my Italiano grandmothers!

Terrific Italian food - just wish it wasn't so far away from Atlanta. The lunch special includes the entrée, vegetables, salad/soup & garlic bread - for around $10. It really is a full dinner for lunch. Vegetables come from their own garden as well.

I have found my new favorite restaurant. When I first walked in this place I was, honestly, expecting a much different review than you're about to read. Upon first impression it is crowded, noisy and kind of dated looking. BUT!!!! After acclimating for a few moments I realized that I had just walked into the warm, fuzzy embrace of family-style dinner. You know those nice dinners that you imagine other families have while yours is busy throwing food & chewing with their mouths open while Uncle Bob quietly gets drunk as a skunk? The very motherly hostess seated us immediately and our server showed up promptly. He was lovely! He ran through all the specials, patiently answering my many questions. We started with stuffed clams and oh what a treat they were. They were not your typical fare, it was a clam shell filled with clam, shrimp and scallions, covered in cheese and very well seasoned. My entree was meat ravioli in champagne sauce (they have many sauces from which to choose) the BF had linguine marinara. Both meals were exceptional. I cannot wait to return. The food, staff and atmosphere are truly wonderful. Great experience!

We just moved to the area and this place is located only a few minutes from our new house, with the high stars we were looking forward to a nice date night. Never again. The garlic bread was okay but nothing special. Our entrees (nothing complicated or any special requests) were disappointing but edible. My spicy marina was not spicy and was so thin it wouldn't coat the pasta. The nail in the coffin was dessert. We weren't going to get any but after the presentation by the owner's son (he was our favorite part of the experience) sold us on homemade gelato. For some awful reason, the tiramisu gelato tasted overwhelmingly of licorice, which neither my husband nor I can stand. We had a couple of bites, ate the cookie garnish and called it a night.

Absolutely our favorite restaurant for years. When you arrive, you are treated like family. Most wonderful food and owners ever. The experience is like going on a vacation. No matter what stress has come your way throughout the day, you leave feeling relaxed and happy. Every birthday, anniversary and celebration in our family is spent at Casa Nuova. You will never be disappointed!

Meh- if your over 50 w/o kids this place is probably fantastic. Service was friendly albeit a bit pretentious, when we foolishly asked if they had anything for kids... "This is not that kind of restaurant." The owner was adorable making her way to each table. As for the food my wife and I shared veal Milanese, which was decent, but pricy at 19 bucks. As a family with four kids we were really out of place with what seemed the regular crowd. Maybe I'm spoiled but at a joint like this with tacky lamps and wall paper and good though very typical Italian, the prices were pretty high. You'd pay the same at Sugo, and this place is no Sugo. The place was definitely a crowd pleaser with the 65 and over but not for a foodie family with young kids.

Casa Nuova Italian Restaurant is located on Highway 9 N, at the left end of a shopping center at the Grassland Pkwy intersection. This is a very popular spot among locals with a quaint decor a limited seating, however some overflow is accommodated via an outdoor deck. There's very limited parking, however you can park in the Suntrust lot just South of the restaurant after-hours. There are a handful of what I think of as traditional family-run Italian restaurants in Atlanta - most are of the "old school" variety, featuring heavy, slightly sweet Sicilian-style dishes (with an occasional Northern style cream dish), but in general sticking with what I think of as the New York or Chicago formula. What makes Casa Nuova special is that while the dishes are in align with those traditional flavors of Italy, there's a hint of something else there - a bit more Italian Oregano and a heavier hand in herbs. I believe this is due to the Cuban influence of the founders, and well worth experiencing. I've read some of the reviews on Yelp and I found it interesting that we did not experience many of the complaints written most recently. We arrived on a weekend night and it was quite busy - this was in December so the restaurant was extravagantly decorated, festooned with garlands and wreathes with several trees - even so, with no reservation we only waited about 20 minutes before being seated. The restaurant was a bit cramped with several large parties - I think you should call ahead and book a reservation, especially on busy nights. Our server, while not the most knowledgeable regarding the new craft beers (seems they were recently added), did a good job describing each dish we were interested in and had the specials down pat. One of the owner's sons came and spoke with me regarding the craft beer options - I settled on a New Holland Cabin Fever Brown Ale - quite good and new to me (New Holland makes one of my favorite stouts, Dragon's Milk, so I don't think I could go wrong with that brand). Most brown ales tend to be too sweet to me, but this one was rather crisp and a great started. I switched to Moretti La Rosa for the rest of the meal - this is the Italian version of dark beer and has a distinct reddish color - it's also my go-to beer when eating Italian if available (I'll default to Peroni if that's all there is). The menu had many items that you would typically find in other Italian restaurants - we decided to start with a couple of salads, Caesar and the spinach salad from the evening's specials. The Caesar salad was quite tasty with a good hint of garlic and lemon - the only negative was that it was very heavily dressed (this may be more to local tastes). Next time I'll ask it be lightly dressed. The spinach salad featured a balsamic dressing with walnuts and was quite tasty - I think this was the better of the two. The dinner bread was something exceptional - toasted Italian baguettes drenched in butter and fresh garlic - we had several baskets as is appropriate with this type of fair. For entrees we ordered the following, all from that evening's specials menu: I ordered the Grouper Diavolo which was one of the specials and what can I say? This dish was fantastic, with flaky grouper cooked to perfection in a spicy marinara and fresh button mushrooms. Even the side of pasta was surprisingly good - something I usually pass on but ate this evening. The second Grouper special was much like the Diavolo only in lemon sauce and fresh spinach. I tasted this and it was quite good - the sauce was a bit like a piccata with lemon and a bit of white wine. The chicken Florentine was much like the grouper special only made with chicken, pounded, lightly breaded and sauted with the same piccata sauce. We finished the meal with a shared tiramisu - this looked great on the plate but the lady fingers were a bit light of espresso for my tastes (you usually get a bit more bitter from the coffee - for this dish most of the bitter came from the powdered cocoa). This evening we were handed a jar of home-made pickled peppers - it seems the owners have a large garden where many of the veggies are grown. I haven't opened them yet, waiting on a special occasion, but what a great gift! In all, we had a great time, an exceptional meal and fantastic service. I'll definitely remember Casa Nuova and seek it the next time I'm stranded in Alpharetta. (A much-longer review also posted to my food blog.)

Great little italian restaurant. I stopped by for lunch one day to try this place out and I am glad I did. The lady who owns the restaurant is so nice and helped me place my order. I got a basic spaghetti and meatballs lunch combo with soup and garlic bread. The food was nothing special. For the price is was more so quantity than quality. My spaghetti and meatballs is better than this (but also more expensive lol so it makes sense). The one thing that annoyed me was the 2 guys working there were kind of stand off-ish looking pissed off which didnt feel welcoming (they saw me waiting by the door and ignored me and didnt say hello or anything). The lady who owns the restaurant is super nice though! She made sure I was taken cared of. And whoever packaged me lunch was kind of messy (sauce spilled out everywhere into the plastic bag). This place honestly is a 3 star for food but I give 4 stars for the sweet lady.

A friend who lives in Cumming turned me on to this place. It is AMAZING! I make a point to visit every time I'm in the Atlanta area. The staff is friendly and attentive and the food is delicious. On my last visit I learned that the owners have a 20 acre farm which supplies many of the fresh ingredients used in their dishes. When you go choose from the specials. Everything on the regular menu is really good, but the specials are creative and worth trying. You can have Italian standards anywhere-specials here are like someone's Italian mom making a delicious, secret family recipe for you. On my last visit I had minestrone soup and an amazing eggplant/veal dish. Delicious! Also be sure to save room for dessert. And cappuccino-you have to have the cappuccino! So rich and creamy. It's almost dessert all by itself. Buon appetito!!

I love, love, LOVE this place. Never disappointed. Maria is the consummate hostess, bustling about greeting guests, giving orders to the bar and kitchen and smiling all the while. Ricardo has been our waiter a number of times and I'm so happy when seated in his section. The salads are fresh and made with vegetables grown at their nearby farm. Don't be surprised if they offer you a bag of tomatoes or a bunch of sunflowers to take with you. I wish I could say I've tried several dishes, but I always order the linguine and clams because it's SO GOOD and fresh. My fellow diners have been more adventurous and ordered the specials and other dishes. No matter what you choose, you won't be disappointed.

I've been going to this place for about 8 years and I've never had a bad meal. Myself and some of my family met there for dinner last night. It had been quite some time since we've all been there, not because of the restaurant, but because of life and such. Our waiter was the same waiter who has been there for as long as we've been going. He remembered what our favorite dishes were and was spot on with the service. The garlic bread is amazing!!! I had the veal parmigiana with a side of penne and it was a huge portion and delicious. The veal was extremely tender and the breading didn't fall off at all. My brother and father both had the chicken parmigiana and thought it was amazing. The owner stopped by to chat for a few minutes and was telling us about their 10 acre garden where the grow most of the vegetables they use. Farm to table is rare, but you can taste the difference. Highly recommended Casa Nuova.

On a friend's recommendation we decided to make the trek up north to try out this authentic italian place. It is this cute family run restaurant that has a whole lot of personality. The complimentary garlic bread was delicious and we proceeded to enjoy multiple baskets. My husband ordered the ravioli with marinara sauce and I ordered the tortellini. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and will be back soon.

Excellent!! Everything about our experience dining here was wonderful!! The staff was welcoming and friendly. We were there on a week night after 7pm and the place was bustling and the tables were full. The food was very fresh and full of flavor. We even indulged in dessert. I had the tiramisu, which was heavenly. My son had a cannoli and my husband had creme brûlée, which they both very much enjoyed. I had a salad with artichoke and hearts of palm with my meal (a chicken and spinach ravioli special in a champagne sauce) and it and the ravioli were outstanding. My husband had a ravioli that was on the menu and my son had fettuccine Alfredo. They enjoyed their meals, too. Portions were not huge, like you get in so many restaurants, but they were the perfect sized portions. I would highly recommend visiting. It is a great place for a family meal or a romantic dinner with your sweetie.

Honestly, All I can say is wow. This place is as good as it gets. One of the best Italian places here in North Georgia. The staff and owner are over the top friendly and the place has a real family atmosphere. Parking can be a bit of a challenge so get there early or later than the expected rushes.

Went tonight and it was perfect as usual. This is a small mom and pop. I think their son is now taking over and doing a fine job. The waitors take their job seriously and know their menus extremely well. This place is probably one of my favorite restaurants anywhere in the world. They own a farm and used fruits and vegetables in their entrees and desserts frequently. Their cappuccinos are just like what you would expect in Roma.

This review only needs three words. Oh. My. Gosh! Best Italian I've had in years. Don't let the fact that it's in a strip mall throw you off, once you walk inside the decor is authentic Italia. A quaint little place, intimate in the atmosphere is just right. We were greeted by Maria at the door, who brings a warmth and friendliness of a neighbor or friend you remember from your childhood. In fact, we were greeted by at least five people during our meal and everyone was so friendly. Water glasses are always full, drink orders are brought to you promptly, and the selection available is second to none. Before you even order you are treated to toasted Italian garlic bread, warm and fresh. We both had the veal Parmesan, and the sauce was just right not tart, not sweet, and the star of the veal Parmesan was the video, not the cheese or the sauce. Everything is made with the vegetables from their garden which they grow for all of their recipes, and it tastes farm fresh. The portion ratio is generous, the pacing of the meal was perfect, and the desert offerings are plenty. Maria stop back at the table to make sure that we were satisfied and happy, and she is a gracious and generous hostess, even brought over to buttery nipple drinks which went down, let's just say... Smooth! My only regret is that we didn't find this place sooner, we will be back many times.

Maria and Antonio have seriously created a cult following due to fresh home grown ingredients and their delicious recipes. The ambiance, food and wine are superb. I truly enjoy dining at this establishment. I would also like to note that Maria's passion for her charity for cancer research is quite a motivational factor for me dine here since Maria treated my mother who recently passed from cancer like a princess on mothers days three years ago. Something I will never forget. If you haven't had the opportunity to dine here yet what are you waiting for!

A few weeks ago, I was invited to dinner to celebrate the birthdays of 2 close friends. There were originally going to be 4 of us, but we quickly turned it to a table for 7. So we went ahead, and got reservations at 8pm on a Saturday night. I had been hearing about this place from one of my exes over the years and I have always heard how good the food is, so I was excited to try it out. Located in a small strip mall in Forsyth County (do they call it Milton, Alpharetta, who knows?)- when it gets busy, you are better off parking at the SunTrust next door. We had told them we had arrived, and then the fun began. Mind you, there had been a few people in the party already drinking (believe it or not, I didn't drink until after we left dinner, I had to drive)- so while we were waiting outside, you could only imagine the shit that was being said. People were getting hungry, the lady was getting grumpy, and the drunks were getting sloppy. It was a wonderful recipe for an action packed evening. I had been reading through other peoples reviews, and I have no idea if this membership stuff is for real, but I could tell certain criteria did fit the bill. First of all, we ended up waiting about 20-30 minutes (why the reservation?). When they called us in, we went through a cramped hallway and had plenty of opportunities to grope people on our way to the table- it was that intimate! We had a round table, and we were right next to the kitchen (another criteria I just read about in other reviews, coincidence?). As I got to rub against the 6'4 guy on my right and the drunk to my left, I realized I might as well make the best of it. They went over the specials and such, and everyone ordered drinks. I stuck to water. They then brought out some garlic bread. It was warm, and buttery, but I wish there was more garlic to it. With that being said, I may have had 3-4 loaves. During this time, an older lady (maybe the owner? Not sure?) came up to me, and insisted she change my chair. That indeed helped a lot, as the other one I had I wouldn't even have been able to use in a bar fight (if need be). Right after that, they brought out the drinks. This is when the fun began. This would be my luck- the DD gets a whole fuckin Sam Adams dumped on his right shoulder (even got on my lap and down my shirt). I didn't even flinch, like I almost expected it. The guy at the table behind us got one spilled on him too. I have no idea if they even realized it happened to me as they were all over the guy behind me rubbing him down like a hard prick. In just a few moments later (as I now smell like a brewery), when they reach to refill the bread, they grabbed the damn napkin and got ALL of the crumbs in my hair. I mean, really? At this point, I was just waiting for someone to pour a vat of marinara on me just for shits n giggles. It was starting to get old. For dinner, I had ordered the veal saltimbocca. It was served wish some mushrooms and some kind of sauce. honestly, the best part were the mushrooms. The veal was almost kid sized and left me hungry. I think everyone else enjoyed their stuff. For dessert, I ended up getting a cannoli- that was pretty decent, I should have ordered 2. At that time, it was time to do checks. At the beginning, we told them that the original 4 people would be on one check and the 3 tagalongs on another. I however sat in between the tagalongs. When they brought the checks, someone (no idea who), comped the 3 tagalongs check, which has $140 and included a bottle of wine. Our check for the 4 was $200 (tip inc). To this day, we are baffled why they got comped but we didn't. All in all, it was just a strange night- kind of like one of those Friday the 13th nights. Would I ever go back? I mean if I want to wear F&B more so than I am already capable of...

No better place to get Italian food. I have loved this place for the last 9 years. Anytime I'm in the area I look forward to eating here. Please pass up all of the chain type Italian restaurants and choose this truly authentic place to eat. Food and service is fantastic. You will not be disappointed!!!

Love this place! Every time my wife and I eat here we marvel at how good the food is prepared and how much the staff make us feel like old friends. Try the veal saltimbocca; it's my favorite and you can't go wrong with this choice. Parking is a bit cramped, but no place is perfect.

I've definitely experienced better. The pro's: No wait at 8pm on a Friday. The garlic bread was fantastic. I never eat garlic bread, and I ate like 3 pieces. The house wine was decent, especially for the price. The con's: Our main meals were both awful. We got the chicken cacciatore and the Cannelloni Florentine. The bechamel for the cannelloni was tasteless and not thick enough. It reminded me of the gravy that tops biscuits and gravy- not what I was expecting or wanting. Also, there was no sign of any spinach in the cannelloni. The chicken in the chicken cacciatore was dry and tough, as well as the vegetables weren't cooked nearly enough. The portions I think are way too small for the cost of each main dish. ***I don't even think this is passable Italian. I would say to go to any of the chains in the area- Macaroni Grill, Ippolito's, or Carrabas- before going here. AND I don't ever praise chain restaurants.

My family and I have been coming to this restaurant since 2006 and we've never had anything but a delicious meal. The owners are wonderful people who genuinely love what they do. The food is always prepared fresh and the weekly specials along with the regular menu items will give you plenty of choices. If you want an authentic, fresh Italian dinner than look no further. I suggest calling ahead on the weekends because they fill up fast.

  • Art H.

This place is more like a supper club than a restaurant. If you're a "member", you get great service, a call ahead wait list, your special table, even a complimentary cocktail or two... and there are lots of "members". If you're just a customer, you have to endure long waits, often while watching call ahead "members" go in front of you, and not so nice tables, often by the kitchen door. The food is passable Italian. In its day, it was the ONLY Italian place for miles so it was by definition, the best. Nowadays, if you're willing to drive a bit, there are better restaurants serving better Italian that treat every customer as a valued guest not just "members".

While I enjoyed the ambiance and customer service, I feel that I was really let down by Casa Nuova. PROS: Ambiance: cute, romantic vibe with a homey feel to it. It looks like a hole in the wall type of joint but its anything but on the inside. I really enjoyed the candlelight touch. Customer Service: when they realized things were messed up, they fixed it promptly which I appreciated. CONS: Staff Knowledge: I had clarified with my server when I ordered the linguine with clam sauce that I wanted to replace the "red clam sauce" with marinara. He corrected me and told me that the red clam sauce WAS marinara. I believed him and was completely let down when my pasta was served with this liquidy red sauce rather than the chunky marinara i love. Totally let down. Many Mistakes: I asked for my salad to be brought out with my pasta. They forgot it. I also asked for the dressing to be on the side. It wasn't. When I asked for bread and red pepper flakes, they forgot that too until we reminded them. NEUTRAL: Food Quality: I didn't think that the food quality was bad or great. In my opinion, it was alright. My clam linguine still had sand in the shells (gritty gritty unpleasantness) and the first batch of their homemade garlic bread was partially burnt. However, I did enjoy the flavor of the bread and the food portion (not too much, and not too little---just right). OVERALL: I personally wouldnt return but may come here again to give this place another shot. Truthfully, I was really let down tonight. I'm in no hurry to return.

Casa nuova was a fantastic experience. Atmosphere is quaint stuffed mushrooms were great, as was my main dish, the salmon. I would stay away from the veal Parmesan though. My son had it and it was not very good. Wine is great and great prices by the bottle .

This was my families first time here and i was really looking forward to eating here. I liked the atmosphere, the service was also good. I usually judge an Italian restaurant by there Spaghetti and meatball dish. The Spaghetti and Meatballs made me sick. It was the only thing I ate that day and it made me sick that same evening. It's a shame, I really wanted to like this place. I will unfortunately never go back there again with my family.

My husband and I attended an office Christmas function a few weeks ago and I absolutely loved what I had. The steak pizziola. So much so, I craved having it again. We went this past weekend for my husbands birthday. We both got the same thing. Last time he had the seafood medley over pasta and he felt it was too watery. This will be a place we go to frequently. I would suggest some less expensive wine choices by the glass be offered. But we love the service, garlic bread that is refilled and the overall atmosphere. I'm Italian and my husband is 75%. I want to try something different but the Steak Pizziola is hard to beat!

We love this place! It is our favorite Italian restaurant in Atlanta. It is like going to Mama's. The owner's Maria and Tony are always walking the dining room talking to the guests making them feel comfortable and at home. Their son too, I forget his name. All the wait staff are just wonderful. The food is just delicious. You can go the spaghetti & meatballs route, or fancy Italian too. Listen to the specials because there are so many good ones. We always look to get the minestrone soup, it's wonderful. For appetizers we love the escargots, garlic 100 proof. The garlic bread too. There is usually a salad special we like. Our favorite entrée special is the veal or pork rollatini. Most of the desserts are homemade, we live the cannoli and spumoni. You can't go wrong with this place. It gets crowded on Friday and Saturday prime time dinning so go early or expect a wait.

We really enjoy doing to Casa Nuova. The owner makes you feel like you are part of the family. A couple of times, this has included walking out with a bag of fresh vegetables from her garden. The food is very tasty and there are always very intriguing specials. One time, I ordered a chicken dish that showed up with mushrooms. The menu doesn't say that it has mushrooms and I don't like mushrooms. They very quickly took care of me and made a new dish without the mushrooms.

Going here for a business lunch was a treat so I thought I would bring my family. First they had a hard time accommodating my 8mo son because the tables are that close together. They were too busy for the number of waiters and he did not come back very soon we said we just wanted water. hostess did come by but had no clue about the menu. The pasta dishes were $15-20 and the plate sizes small. I received 6 medium sized lobster raviolies for $21.25. Would you buy a $3.54 ravioli? Is say the dishes were overpriced buy 25%. The owners here are very sweet. If money is no option for you and you are not coming as a family, then you could be an option.

Everything is always very good! We had great service, water & bread are never empty. The management always stops by the table multiple times to see how things are going, and we are always given something. Last time, we went on Easter weekend, and the kids were given chocolate bunnies. We were also given a box of the BEST coconut macaroons to try at home. Once we were given a shot of liquor. My only complaint is that it is too pricey for us to go on a regular basis. We always fall for the decadent specials and end up spending well over $100.

Coming from Chicago, this place isn't a great Italian restaurant, overpriced & the food was marginal. Good place for older adults (they have wallpaper borders and Italian lights inside) but if you are looking for something nice and trendy, look elsewhere.

I took my family here to eat because of there rating. I must say for the money I spent it was way over priced. The quality of their food is simply that of any chain Italian Resturant. Very loud and cramped. Do not sit at the table that's in front of the wine rack because you will have waiters practically leaning over you all night to retrieve wine bottles. The appetizers were good however very small proportions. The main entree was average and the deserts were ok. All in all I gave it three stars. I probably want go back simply because I can get other Italian at half the price.

Not sure where these bad reviews come from. Did we eat at the same place? We've been coming here for about four years, and I can honestly say have never had a bad meal. Their "regular" Italian food is good, but the specials are superb. Many of their ingredients are fresh from their own 17 acre "garden". The crowds speak for themselves - Friday and Saturday evenings are very busy, but even many of the weeknights see close to a full house.

I've eaten here before and its always been great! Last night I had lamb chops, sauteed spinach, with a butter cream and shitake sauce! Quit possible one of the best meals I've ever had!

The food is good here, but don't expect your reservation time to be honored especially on a Sat nite. To make matters worse they fib big time about the estimated wait time. We were told 10 minutes, which turned out to be an hour later. If the bar area had been pleasant they may have received a pass, but no. The bar is tiny, crowded with a downright rude bartender. He treats customers like they are inferior beings or dunces. My friend asked for a Peroni but was served a Miller Lite. Who's the dunce? The dining room is small, tightly packed and VERY noisy. Come here if you like a stressful night out.

This review was my first trip to Case Nuova. Overall a fantastic experience, the servers were friendly and attentive, the food from appetizers to entrees to dessert was excellent. I had a Caesar Salad and Chicken Parmesan, which was a very generous portion covered in a delicious marinara sauce, served with a side of pasta with marinara. For dessert we had plum gelato and some scrumptious homemade pastries which included fruits grown in their local garden. I would recommend Casa Nuova, it's worth the drive to the Fulton/Forsyth border!

Had out of town visitors and decided to give Casa Nuova a try. Seated upon our arrival although they were busy. The service was outstanding--water and bread refilled on a regular basis empty dishes whisked away. The timing between courses was just right and we didn't feel rushed. The appetizers and entrees were delicious and due to some unique specials we enjoyed several dishes not previously tasted. (The crab stuffed mushrooms with champagne sauce was fantastic!) The desserts were homemade by the chef and they were a nice finish to our meal. In an area with too many chain style Italian restaurants, Casa Nuova is truly unique. We will be back!

Shortly after writing the review I was contacted by phone and by email by the owner who offered to treat my wife and me to a follow up visit. She said she'd send a gift certificate to me. It is now more than 3 months later, and the promised gift certificate has still not been received. I never asked for it. I didn't expect or require it, but if you go to such great lengths to find out how to contact a reviewer and offer them a "do over", it doesn't look good if you don't follow through.

Great food, excellent service. Found a new favorite Italian place! We started with the Calamari and the marinara was tangy and tasty. I had the chicken Parma, and wife had chicken francaise. Both came out hot, tender and delicious. Also the garlic bread they bring out was addictive! My son has a side of meatballs that would satisfy even the pickiest 2 year old. Several people checked on us during our meal, but not overbearing at all. Capped it all off with desert. Tiramisu and apple pastry and some great coffee.

Had our first experience here on Friday. No reservations so we had a short wait of 30 minutes. Sat at the bar and had a drink with my Wife. Friendly bar tender and good drinks. Small bar can only accommodate about 10 people. The place was packed the entire time we were there. We were seated and were immediately greeted at the table. They use a multi prong approach to service with 1 person to take drink order and tell you about the specials and then one person to take your appetizer and food order. Bread and water are being filled up at the table at a rapid pace. I would say at least 4 people attends to each table. Amazing really. Owners/managers come by several times to check in with you in a non intrusive way. They really have a knack of making you feel special and well cared for even on your first time there. You feel like a regular. At the end of your meal a 5th person came to tell you about the homemade desserts. Of which we had of course and they were wonderful. Friday they have special homemade bakery items on the dessert menu Friday only. The food was very good, much better than we expected. This place is a gem, at the corner of a strip mall of all places. You can tell right off that this place is a labor of love for the owners and workers. They really take care with everything they do. While at the bar 2 glasses of wine were brought back, full more or less who ever ordered them took a sip and felt the white wine was to sweet. No problem replaced immediately with a new choice. No groaning from the staff, just quick fix. I am positive that they would go to any lengths to make you happy. Both of us had veal dishes my Wife had the special of the day Veal Rolltini which was epic and large. I do think they could expand into the open space next door and have a larger bar. I think they have the following for it. Great place and we will be back for sure especially since it is right in our neck of the woods. For me this is as good as Sugo's in Johns Creek!!!

I think this place must have a campaign going to keep their TripAdvisor rating up. It is the number one restaurant in Alpharetta on TripAdvisor. My opinion is the food is just barely passable and the service leaves lots to be desired. It is small, busy and loud. The food just isn't very good and resembles Italian buffet fare. No thanks.

  • Betsey S.

I wouldn't know about the food. We had a reservation for 6:30 and when we arrived the place was packed. We were told it would be a 10-15 minute wait which was not a problem given a busy night. A glass of wine and 45 minutes later, we were still waiting and decided to leave. I understand a busy restaurant and needing some flexibility, but don't give me a reservation and tell me it will be a 10-15 minute wait when I show up when you have no idea when you will have a table.

WOW!! Was I disappointed We just came back from dinner here and I am a bit annoyed that I just spent $100 for food that should have cost $50. Very Very overpriced and subpar food. I felt like Chef Robert Irviine from the food channel was here and taught them how to cut down on the expensive ingredients For example, I had an appetizer of cream of mushroom soup....there were no mushrooms, well traces of them before they were diced to nothing in the food processor. Then the liquid was like diluted milk. No flavor. Bleech...did not eat it. When asked if everything was wonderful, I said no, its not good. They shrugged their shoulders and took it away ( I was still charged for it). I was still hopeful the entres would be better. I got the special, Grouper Franchese with shrimp. Someone needs to teach them what franchese is. No lemon, no wine....more like fried grouper. Oh and only one small piece with a mound of summer squash all over a small bed of pasta. I wanted grouper, not half a plate of summer squash. My wife had the veal florentine which initially was very tasty, but then for some reason the other pieces underneath were lacking the flavor. I would have thouht she was nutz, but I tasted them too. Its almost like they were two different batches. The inside was very vibrant and the owner, Maria? seems to wield a heavy hand over everyone and everything and buzzed from table to table to kitchen. She was not interested in hearing you did not like something but rather trying to convince you to go on Facebook and LIKE them as well as TripAdvisor. When I got the bill for $91 I was pissed. I scoured the check and was annoyed thy charged me $30 for the crappy Grouper Frsnchese thing and $8 glass for some no name wine (the wine list is on a lamenated card and no prices....nothing is recognizable from anything I ever hear of). For some reason the place was packed. I am guessing their really is not many restaurants nearby. I would rather drive to Buckhead to eat then go back here. Also, there are many places that serve similiar food for much less money. If my bill was $50, I might have been less annoyed. I would rather spend $150+ at Pricci in Buckhead then come back here.

Update. First time back in so many years. My buddy wanted to go for lunch. I didn't. But i'm a nice guy so off we go. He loved it, raved about it, wanted to invest in it. We each had the broccoli soup, it was a creamy winner. He had a fancy schmancy salad, raved about it. I had the spaghetti and meata-ballsa, it was poor. The meatballs were tiny, there wasn't enough sauce, they didnt offer me fresh grated parma. Am I asking too much of this place? The service was fine, its a nice place, the owner was cooking the books at the table next to us. Must be me, I expect more, but you will probably love it. Everyone does, but me. Why can't I love this place? Somebody tell me please. I want to, I really do, but I can't.

Excellent entrees but they kept messing/forgetting our party's requests. Classic Italian ambience. They oversold the specials (seemed like over half the menu was a special tonight). Would give it another try because my food was good.

  • Gil S.

My family has eaten at Casa Nuova several times now. The owner Maria is warm and welcoming and the atmosphere is kitschy and fun, but the entrees are overpriced and, in my opinion, not this restaurant's strength. I've had 3-4 meals there and I've always enjoyed the salads and the desserts. But, honestly, I haven't eaten an entree there that I would order second time.. The eggplant parmasian I ordered was not cooked well. It was soggy. They put chicken chunks in this dish, which I could do without, then cover the whole thing with a thick layer of tasteless, melted cheese. Give me Olive Garden's version of this dish any day. I've also had the Chicken Marsala and it was prepared with sliced chicken rather than chicken breasts, almost like sandwich meat, and covered with a gravy that didn't have much flavor. Just wasn't good. My husband ordered the Sea Bass and unexpectedly got a piece of mystery meat on his plate along with the fish, which by the way, was just okay. Tortellini was nothing to write home about either. Maria sends you home with a box of her homegrown tomatoes and sweets, which is unique and charming and part of the reason why we've gone back. But she needs to focus her attention on improving the quality of the meals she's serving, especially given the relatively high prices.

Yeah, you might want to avoid 7 pm on a Saturday if you can. But we've never had waits that we're all that bad. And the bar is fun. Food is great, the menu is large and the specials are interesting. Always a terrific meal.

I truly hope this is not the best Italian restaurant in Atlanta! If it is, hold the presses I'm changing careers and opening a restaurant to pave a golden path for my future. Homes on the Mediterranean, a little place in Rome, that ever elusive trip to Asia will all be mine with the fortunes I could make from my family's cacciatore. Really people are you so enamored by a free order of mediocre garlic bread, what's the world coming to?

Lovely, Lovely, LOVELY! Stopped in today for lunch and the ambiance, the service, and the food were all excellent! We are going back with friends on Wednesday and highly recommend anyone else to try it out as well. The owner, Maria, is very involved in the community and having a benefit event for Pancreatic Cancer on September 30th. I highly recommend that, if you are in the area, you go! I will see you there!

This place is just great. Family run, with organic, locally grown ingredients. They always have tons of specials, and inevitably, someone in your party is going to order one! They have all the Italian staples, but the great thing about this place are the choices you won't see anywhere else. We had a clam appetizer filled with minced shrimp, clam and scallop, covered in cheese and baked. Yum. I had a chicken dish with sausage and peppers, and I remarked to my wife it was the best thing I've eaten in a year. It was just spicy enough but in no way did the heat overpower any of the flavors. Add in that they always have interesting wines available, and an excellent waitstaff, and you've got pretty much a perfect restaurant. Be prepared for a short wait on weekends, I would recommend you make reservations. We're ready to go back right now!

My boyfriend made reservations at Casa Nuova 2 weeks early. Upon arrival, there were two gentlemen waiting to be seated. Considering there is no hostess station, we were waiting inside the lobby area between the restaurant and the bar. We decided to get a drink while we waited our turn. My boyfriend ask the male bartender if he had a list of wine by the glass. The bartender looked shocked and replied with "we ain't got no list but we got all the bells and whistles". Then the female bartender chimes in with "red or white?!". Very rude! My boyfriend proceeds to ask if they had a certain wine by name, which the male bartender said they did but he was too busy "holding up the bar" to pour it which meant the woman bartender had to. He ordered a $10 glass of wine and the female bartender acted like it was a hassle to even pour his wine. So I walked back out to the lobby where the two gentlemen were still standing. I returned back to the bar and told my boyfriend to ask the female bartender who we should talk to about our reservations. He said, "we made reservations for 8:00, can you tell us who we need to speak with?"... She replied, "go out there and stand by the door"... She wouldn't even take 2 minutes to literally walk around the partition and let someone know that their were people that needed to be seated. So we walk back to the lobby and wait until someone (who I now know is the owner) decides to come and seat us. Keep in mind, well past our reservation time. I was so disgusted with the customer service at this restaurant that I refused to even eat there and decided we should leave. Needless to say, it was a very disappointing to have one of the most recommended restaurants in Alpharetta turn into a joke within the first 20 minutes. I hope the food is good because the service is so horrible that the food must be the only thing that keeps customers coming back.

We love Casa as our place for real italian food. Maria, Antonio, and the staff are so friendly and make everyone feel like part of their family. The food is absolutly amazing because everything is fresh and vegetables are home grown from their own farm. No other place can get any better than Casa!

Just came back from lunch at Casa Nuova. Loved it. Loved the owner too. She explained to me that all the vegetables they use are organic and grown from their very own garden. When I told her how much my daughter loved the cucumbers and tomatoes, she went to kitchen and actually brought me a bunch of cucumbers and tomatoes for me to take home. Now that's service. They have the food down too. I ordered the Linguine with white clams ($8.95) and thought it was a 9 out of 10. Perhaps what I loved the most about this dish was that it was light with strong clam flavor. Not heavy on the butter or salt. It really was near perfection. My daughter ordered the penne aglio olio ($6.95) and she loved it too. Prices are extremely reasonable, great portions and dishes came with either a soup or salad. Staff was extremely attentive and friendly. Will definitely be back and may even throw a party there.

Best Italian around. Farm to table restaurant which epitomizes fresh. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Family owned and operated. They make you feel like part of the family.

The good...the service was 5 stars. From the greeting to the exit everyone was very welcoming. The bad...I don't rate restaurants based on service. Unfortunately, the food was mediocre at best. The garlic bread was more like Texas Toast that you can buy in the frozen section. The Caesar salad was good, but not beyond basic. My husband ordered veal parmesan. It was flavorless and bland. The sauce tasted like it was fresh out of a jar. I had the cannelloni. It was just ok, nothing to rave about. I was really expecting great things from this restaurant based on reviews from friends and Yelp. Sadly, I was underwhelmed.

Ok - not sure what happened to the other review I wrote but I feel so strongly I am writing it again! I cannot say enough about this amazing Italian restaurant. I'm a huge fan of Tony's food - from Alfredo's to Avanti's when I was growing up, to now at Casa Nuova. Family owned and run - his dishes are beyond fabulous, and then there's Maria - charming and warm - who manages just a great team, period. My faves- the Big Mac, and any, I mean any, of their Seafood or Veal dishes. All organic vegetables, herbs and fruits that are not only local, but from their own gardens - so don't forget to add a salad as well :) Always ask about the specials, if they don't tell you first. Great wines and desserts too!

Best authentic Italian I have ever had. Wonderful community minded owners who are there in person waiting tables and cooking each night. Get the stuffed mushrooms. Ask for the specials. Note: the list of specials on any given night is longer than the menu. I took my wife here for our 15th anniversary. It was so good we went back the very next night. no joke. I would recommend you get there early or make reservations if you have a bigger group, because it is not a big restaurant and it does fill up quickly. - James

If you find yourself up in this neck of the woods and are in the mood for Italian, come here! It's exactly what an Italian restaurant should be elegant but still casual and quite intimate. I discovered this place with my boyfriend and his family. It's a family favorite as they live in Alpharetta. I've sense been back a few times and it's dependably good. If you get there a little early or find yourself waiting for a table, venture into the small bar. The bartender couldn't be friendlier and will soon make you feel right at home (and calm any nervousness you may have about meeting your boyfriend's parents for dinner). :) The atmosphere is casual but intimate. It feels nostalgic. The owners are usually found wandering around the dining room, chatting up the regulars and making friends with the new visitors. As Sommy S. said, the owner brought a bunch of fresh veggies to our table from her garden after our compliments. I've had the garlic bread, calamari, spaghetti, eggplant parmasean, and likely tried a few other items. They've all been excellent. The boy loves the veal!

There may be better Italian around, but if there is, I haven't found it yet. Sure, the place is small and tight, but it makes you feel like you are part of a large Italian family reunion. The core staff have been there for years and the owner is out there as friendly as can be. The food is amazing, the service impeccable, the atmosphere delightful. How Macaroni Grill or Olive Garden prosper (blech) when this wonderful place is around is beyond me.

I came out here when I went to visit my sister and her family over the Thanksgiving holiday. The staff was very friendly and made you feel like family. I was with my two nephews and the waitress loved the little boys. She was definitely checking in on us more than she needed to. I asked the waiter what was his recommendation for a dish and of course it was the most expense item on the menu. It was a seafood pasta that was good but not mind blowing for the price. Sauce was lacking some umph and a little on the salty end, which I expect most time with seafood pasta. It takes skill to not make seafood pasta sauce salty, a fine balance. I think they could improve their sauces with fresh ingredients and seasonings.

I am amazed at some of the reviews I am reading on here. I discovered this wonderful place in 2001. I ate here for a couple of years until I moved away. In 2012 I moved back and came here again. The food is just as amazing as it was then. I grew up in a Sicilian Italian home. I will promise you If you want a wonderful Italian experience then come here. There may be a wait but that is why there is a bar. Dale will pour you a glass of wine so enjoy and experience. I love to read reviews on here but I will tell you this a place you come and make your own experience. They grow their own organic vegetables. Truly special. I will come as long as they open the doors.

Weekends can be very crowded at peak times. The place is cozy (OK tight - too many tables). We went on a monday, and it grew to 60% full. Friendly staff (seems like all family) - there for anything you need. Delicious salad and GARLIC bread! We had chicken marsala and chicken cacciatore and it was very good. So much good food. Just don't tell anyone, so we can still get a table.

I went there while on a business trip and was glad I found this place. The menu had a good variety. The server was very, very helpful and friendly. Service overall was excellent. The decor and ambiance was also good. I liked the fried calamari, which tasted very fresh. I am giving it a 3-star because my portion was waaayyy too big, not that tasty, and the price was high accordingly. The presentation of the food on the plates weren't the best either. If you like big portions presented on small plates, then this would be wonderful place. The glass of wine didn't taste quite right. Despite all, I would still go back, and just order 2 appetizers.

I have been to Casa Nuova four times. Frankly as first generation American with deep Italian roots, I grew up on a steady diet of superb Italian food. That said, I think CN does a good job in providing a varied, interesting menu with albeit small portions for decent prices. So why do I leave this place irritated every time?? The first time my chair must have been in the waitstaff flight pattern because my chair was knocked no less than 20 times with no apology. The male waitstaff is insanely rude...actually STOPPING his specials diatribe to tell us to pay attention (you try talking to a party of 16 and having them all listen!!), my drink order took no less than 20 minutes to arrive and after asking him twice I almost just went and made it myself! I had the distinct feeling he hoped I would just forget about it!! And what's up with no salad unless you order it ala carte? Suddenly, upon delivering our $700 bill he instantly became Mr Charming so that his tip would be larger....nice try Mr Transparent! If not for the lovely creme brûlée cheesecake I would not have attempted to return. I called a day ahead and left a message for a reservation the following evening. When I didn't get a call back I called the next day to be told there was nothing available. The manager was quite nice about it but really, there is no excuse for poor customer communication. If you aren't going to check the messages then dont have the recording say to leave one to make a reservation. No hard feelings, but there are simply too many other great restaurants in ATL for me to bother with CN anymore! When I spend my hard earned money on a restaurant I want to be treated like I matter....not a bother to my waiter!

  • Courtney W.

This place has been calling to us for a while. My husband, as a native New Yorker, would like to have an Italian place that he *loves*. While CN is not bad, it is not that place, not a place to *love*. We went at peak dinner time expecting to wait, knowing we have to wait. I don't however expect to have to wait so long for the hostess (also owner, I believe) to greet us and take our name. We were left to stand there for way too long, wearing our coats, not enjoying a glass of wine. After putting our name on the list (20-30 minute wait, Maria tells us), we make our way to the bar. Though small, this is a nice restaurant bar. The bartenders are great. In fact, the bar experience, if standing alone, would get four stars. Bartender Mikey (Miguel, actually), tells us Maria's 20-30 minutes needs to be translated from Hispanic time to real time and the wait may be more like an hour. I appreciate his candor and humor, and since I don't have a baby in tow, I don't mind waiting. My wine is only so-so. It is that same cheap Pinot Grigio that every Italian restaurant on Long Island serves. But, I'm OK with it as it lends authenticity to the experience for me. We thought the wine was a bit pricey; about $7 a glass. Miguel encouraged us to have some appetizers so went ordered the calamari. It came out fine. The dish was just what it should be: crispy little bits of Squidward with a side of red sauce (watch out, it has a kick). Finally we were seated; I have no idea how long the wait was. Once we were seated, it took the waitress quite some time (5-10 minutes) to get to us. She didn't even make an effort to say "I'll be right with you". I understand being busy but at least say a quick hi. When she did get to us, we were ready to order. I got veal Parmesan and husband got veal saltimbocca. My dish was embarrassingly huge. DH's was not so. The food tasted fine. If you blindfolded me, spun me three times, took off the blind fold and told me at I was at any number of Italian places along Jericho Turnpike, I would believe you. We skipped dessert because we were feeling pretty full. Overall, the food was good, the service was sincere but so-so, particularly in the dining room, and it was too expensive for what it was. 3 glasses of house wine, 1 app and 2 entrees was about $80 including tips. I might give 4 stars if it had been $50-60.

My boyfriend & I went here right after he got back from Iraq and the service and cuisine was incredible. They made us feel right at home and gave us some special treats to thank him for his service. I had the tortellini with champagne sauce and it was absolutely to die for he had the veal and loved it (and not just because he'd been eating Iraqi food for seven months!). The deserts were also delicious!! Definitely don't miss out on this amazing find!!

I went to Casa Nuova last week with my wife and overall had a good experience. I'm from NY and am 1/2 Italian so my bar is likely set a bit higher than most N GA folks. I had veal saltimbocca which was quite good, I felt the portion size was a bit small. My wife had veal parm which was good and quite a generous portion. The fried calamari app was yummy. The food was good, the service ok, nothing was awful but nothing was fantastic either....it was a bit pricey for what we had but not outrageous. I'd say this is the best Italian food I've had since moving to GA but that's mostly because there just doesn't seem to be any really good I-talian joints around. I'd go back but wouldn't be the one to suggest it... Gunna try some other places and hopefully find my 5 star restaurant!

Real homestyle italian cooking..honest to goodness! It is a well kept secret (not too well kept, I found it). The garlic bread is the best around. The attention to detail and service is awesome. You feel like you are in your grandmothers house eating the BEST italian food. I love the Veal Parm!

I hesitate to post a review of this place, as this hidden little gem might become too popular. Casa Nuova is tucked away in an older strip mall in the Midway community of Cumming. Inside you'll find turned down lights and a quiet atmosphere. I don't know much about Italian cuisine, but this place is very authentic. It seems that it is family owned and run. They may be just off the boat based on their heavy Italian accents. My favorite dish is the chicken francese. Fabulous. The chicken is very tender and melts in your mouth. Comes with a side of pasta and veggies. They usually start you off with hot Italian bread that is very addictive. This place is truly an undiscovered gem. Give it a shot.

I have enjoyed dining at Tony and Maria's restaurants for more 25 years, following them from their location on Roswell Road, to Northside Drive and now enjoying their Alpharetta establishment. In metro Atlanta only a handful restaurants have the enjoyed longevity and loyal following that Casa Nuova has achieved. The fabulous food, great atmosphere, affordable prices, prepared with the fresh ingredients and passion of my Italian great grandmother Nona is the reason for their longevity and success. My only complaint is I don't live closer. If you are not dining here you are missing some of the best Italian food in the Southeast. Well worth the drive.

I too hesitate to review such an easy place to overlook. This is by far the best Italian I've found in Atlanta. This is a family run gem. Don't be surprised if the owners drop by to find out how your food was and bend over backwards to accommodate any special requests. It's amazing how you can have the feeling of an intimate dinner for two and a loud Italian family kitchen all in the same place.

Best New York styled Italian (as opposed to authentic Italian) in Atlanta.

Seriously people, IF this is truly the BEST Italian to be found in Atlanta, you all need to just move already! You have no idea how depressing the prospect of this actually being the BEST Italian food in Atlanta is to the GG and me. If this turns out to be true, I am sooooooo moving back to St. Louis when my contract is up. In St. Louis, we have this wonderful area known as The Hill which boasts no less than 25 truly AUTHENTIC Italian restaurants because many Italian immigrants settled in this area in the way back and have been cranking out magnificent Italian restaurants ever since. Any one of these places on The Hill in St. Louis would put the likes of Casa Nuova and Ipposhitos not only to shame but out of business! I truly feel sorry for you folks here in Atlanta who think this crap on a plate is as good as Italian food can get. I assure you, it is NOT. So, with this as my background, I ventured in to Casa Nuova based on the reviews I found on Yelp. Some aspects of the place I did like, though. The female owner of the joint greeted me as if I were her long-lost daughter. Upon seeing me waiting at the door, she shouted hello from across the dining room, came careening at me shouting "Happy New Year to You my Darling" and embraced me in a warm, welcoming hug. What's not to like about that? She then asked the GG and I to wait in the bar as she secured her "best" booth for us since this was our 1st time to Casa Nuova. Within minutes, we were seated in a very cozy and romantic booth in the back complete with lit candles and heart baskets full of flowers for the forthcoming Valentine's Day. Again, what's not to like about such an atmosphere? Unfortunately, things went downhill from here as we struggled with every step of the meal with our inattentive, obnoxious, pretentious, frantic for no reason, RUDE waiter. I would like to tell you all about him but unfortunately all I saw of him for MOST of the entirety of our meal was the BACK OF HIS HEAD running away from us before we could ask questions or for things we needed like refills, straws, extra napkins etc. When questioned about certain menu items, our server seemed extremely annoyed and not at all interested in making our meal a memorable event IN A GOOD WAY. It was memorable, all right, but only because he was a complete ASS. The bread that came complimentary at the start of the meal was okay but nothing special especially compared to what I am used to from The Hill area in St. Louis in terms of companion bread and dipping sauces to enjoy while waiting for your meal. The GG got the fettuccine and I ordered the cannelloni. Now, I will give Casa credit for actually thinking to add MEAT (read: chicken and veal) to the cannelloni recipe as so many places here in ATL just stuff the tubular noodle with nasty ricotta cheese and call THAT canneloni after they drown it in red sauce - eeesh YUCK. The cannelloni was delicious and firm with a wonderful white cheese cream sauce that I thought was decent and definitely worth the drive but by no means was it GREAT or OUTSTANDING or "the best there is". Maybe that is true for Atlanta and if so, again, I can only urge all of you to move to an area where they actually know how to excel at the fine art of Italian cooking. The GG did NOT care for his fettuccine at all and to be honest, I have found better fettuccine out of a microwave. We were never offered refills on our soft drinks by our rude waiter and the straw that the GG requested finally arrived at the table when we were paying the bill and only because someone other than OUR waiter brought it to us. Now I am a person who almost ALWAYS tips 20% and in excess of 20% if the service was outstanding. By the end of our meal, we were so annoyed with our waiter who couldn't avoid us fast enough that we left only a 14% tip hoping it would send him a message. He was also one of those completely transparent and annoying waiters who suddenly becomes friendly and engaging when he is waiting for his tip to be calculated. I SO HATE WAITERS WHO DO THIS that I was urging the GG to leave only a 10% tip but we just couldn't bring ourselves to be that cruel. All in all, this is a place that I would have returned to had we not burned our bridge by under-tipping the waiter (you know what they say - never mess with someone who has control of your food) but the GG was so adamant we were never wasting another dime at this sub-par Italian venue that it just doesn't matter. So, our search for truly AWE-INSPIRING Italian food continues in Atlanta as does our search for edible pizza (we've given up on hoping for GOOD pizza in Atlanta - merely edible would be a HUGE improvement over the crap we have tried here that they call pizza but THAT'S another story entirely). Casa Nuova was simply "okay" in my opinion, and the obnoxiously rude waiter was annoying enough to negate any positive effect the food might have generated in us had it actually been remarkable.

I used to really love this place about 6-7 years ago...not to sure anymore. Food is pricey and kind on gone down hill slightly. There bar is not big enough to hold more than 6-8 people and there is usually a wait...so you have to stand on the side walk. They built a little outdoor seating area but I feel like I'm sitting in the parking lot...not sure ill go back anytime soon.

I came here on a thrid date and loved it. My date knew the people who run this place., We got superb service but I could tell the other patrons were also happy with service. The food was fantastic. Glasses of wine filled almost to the top. I had some lobster filled pasta, my date had the sausage and pepper dish. I am not into peppers so I paased. The ambience is familiar, cozy and inviting. Big restroom. L:oved it

I've eaten here a few times but to say its amazing is an overstatement, definitely decent italian food but being from NYC, this place is about average...amazing would be Di Paolo or Amalfi in Roswell. I definitely recommend those over Casa Nuova

Did I just die and was reborn in Italy? That's what I was thinking when we entered this place with my fiance. My boss took us out to a dinner here. When you first come upon this corner restaurant in a small shopping center, it does not look like much...wait until you park around the parking lot...where you will smell the sweet basil, oregano and all kinds of good italian herbs;-) The family has a small garden by the restaurant and I'm assuming an even bigger one at their house. Some of the dishes were served with vegetables from the owner's garden. I have to say, everything that we ate here was amazing. I would definitley go back to this restaurant for a little tast of Italia!;-)

Yes, this place is really great Soprano's style of Italian restaurant. It is on the pricy side, so be forewarned. The stuffed mushroom appetizer is like $7 and you only get four dinky little mushrooms. Of course, you can have all the garlic bread you can eat, so maybe that makes up for it. I have found some of their food to be a little bland lately, so I would recommend ordering their specials. My boyfriend got this chicken rollatini thing which was AWESOME, but cost $20, which almost gave me some serious sticker shock. This is a nice place to treat yourself, of course, the outside looks straight out of Staten Island with a tacky gazebo, but overlook that.

Best Italian Restaurant In Atlanta This is the best there is. They cook using a lot of veal and vegetables. If you are looking for the Americanized version of Italian food with lots of spaghetti, this isn't the place. They are authentic. If you've ever been to Florence or Rome, you'll love their style of Italian cooking. The big surprise is that it is a family restaurant, but the owner is Cuban! His mother and wife work in the restaurant, and no matter the time of day, yes it is an intimate experience. We love it, want them to succeed, but please don't loose your charm.

YUM!!! My fiance and I tried this place thanks to Yelp recently. It was fantastic! The service is wonderful and the food is even better. I didn't love the spaghetti sauce- it was a bit too watery. but my fiance had the sausage and peppers and they were outstanding. Plus- the garlic bread is amazing. Try this place and you won't regret it- it's a great meal and a nice atmosphere for the dollar!

We eat here often. The food is always phenomenal. You can taste the freshness of the herbs, vegetables and meat. The service is excellent with servers that understand the menu, ingredients and wine pairings. There is no better Italian restaurant in the Cumming Alpharetta area.

I had a business lunch here recently, and it was quite tasty. Our lunch host told us that the owners grow most of their own vegetables, but I'm not sure I saw much evidence of that. We all loved the waiter, who described the numerous specials with great enthusiasm and provided very attentive service. They bring a basket of garlic bread to the table... yum, what a treat. I had a "grouper with pasta" daily fish special, which turned out to a large breaded and sauteed grouper filet in a lemony/buttery sauce on top of pasta, with steamed vegetables (yawn) on the side, as well as a chunk of polenta. The polenta was fabulous -- I would love to get their recipe. With that sauce soaked into it, it was a better accompaniment to the fish than the pasta, which was rather difficult to eat. Had a salad beforehand that was fresh, but nothing special. We shared cannolis for dessert, which were delicious (though I am not a cannoli expert). I'd recommend this place pretty highly IF you happen to be in the area.

Great restaurant! Attentive prompt service, delicious food! The owners spoke to our table several times and even gave us a gift box of coconut macaroons to take home. I gave 4 stars only because the tables are so closely packed into the small space it made walking to the restroom difficult without bumping into a chair or squeezing between tables. Minor inconvenience for a great dining experience.

Love, Love, Love this place! It reminds me of my grandpas house, kind of tacky italian decor but the food is authentic! If you have not eaten here you must try it. Veal is excellent and the sausage and peppers is just like my Italiano grandmothers!

Terrific Italian food - just wish it wasn't so far away from Atlanta. The lunch special includes the entrée, vegetables, salad/soup & garlic bread - for around $10. It really is a full dinner for lunch. Vegetables come from their own garden as well.

Authentic italian... the family loves cooking and are crazily involved in entertaining and making sure their customers love each and every bite of the food they make... i loved the tilapia special.. soups.. wine selection... the place is most of the time crowded and feels homely... Maria and Antonio are gr8!

  • John K.

Yeah, you might want to avoid 7 pm on a Saturday if you can. But we've never had waits that we're all that bad. And the bar is fun. Food is great, the menu is large and the specials are interesting. Always a terrific meal.

    (4)
  • Sam A.

No thanks.

    (5)

The best family run Italian restaurant in GA. Maybe in the south east!!

My family loves this place, the food is always great, the staff is extremely friendly and the atmosphere is great for family, friends, or a quiet date night. They are never short of nightly specials to go along with all the great food on the menu.

- James

I haven't been in a while, but happened to read the reviews. Guys, the reason why this Italian food is so great is because the owners are CUBAN!!!!

Fantastic food made with love or should I say amore! Old flash back decor, but that is not why you go. You go for the large Italian portions and exceptional family service.

Always two or three lunch specials. Decor is not chic, but remimds me of a cozy like a new York city eatery. Personnel are very pleasant.

  • Deb W.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
