anyone who is from Albany Georgia knows that Jimmie hot dogs hands down have the best hot dogs on the planet!! okay, I may be exaggerating a little bit but I know I'm a little biased because I'm a Phoebe baby. (you would also have to be from Albany to know that means I was born in Albany.) every time I head to Albany I have to stop by Jimmie hot dogs and get at least 3 chili cheese dogs! (i know my diet is horrible. Don't judge me!) I wouldn't know what to do if this place shut down. It's a part of my heritage. lol as much as i love the hot dogs, i do have a couple of small gripes: -it's located on a one-way street on a kind of bad side of town. -it's CASH ONLY. -there's only hot dogs, drinks, & snacks...no fries or onion rings. -there's no seating for eating usually, i probably would have given a place with this many gripes only 3 stars, but believe me when I tell you the taste of these hot dogs earns them 5 stars automatically.

Ok..so I had never seen red hot dogs before?!?!? But, those little things were good. So you walk in and get in line. Small place that you would think is a county store. The counter is a bit imposing as it is five feet high with the screen glass. They will make you any combination of a dog...ketchup, mustard, relish, chili, onions, slaw, cheese...you name it. In any event, it is incredibly cheap! And, I mean cheap...eight dogs cost $9 and change. Okay...so the basic order is a little four bite dog, slapped with chili onions and mustard. And, it was pretty good. Hit the spot and was worth it. Five stars if there was a place to sit. We were traveling and would not want to eat chili dogs in the truck.

Have to have my "Jimmie's fix" whenever I'm in Albany! Love them! Chili and onions...and if I'm really hungry I have a slaw dog too!

Went here because of Yelp reviews and can say seen it - done it. Granted, we got four hotdogs for under $5. I'm guessing they were boiled and probably something like McEvers hot dogs and who knows what's in those. The buns and chili were good. I may have missed something here because they were doing quite a business.

Great small hot dog store selling hundreds a day if not thousands! Delicious hot dogs at a reasonable price. They even have my childhood favorite soda: RC cola.

I wish i had a nickel for every Jimmies' i have eaten! I lived in Awl-benny for several years and i couldn't go more than a couple of days without Jimmies' dogs. God i can eat a whole sak by myself. I can't wait till i go back thru Albany during the day so i can endulge again! These are absolutely the best, most falvorful chili dogs you will ever eat. I have had Nathan's at Coney Is. Chicago dogs all over, and about every variation there is and i still say the chili dogs from Jimmies are the king.

A classic, been there for almost 70 years. It's a low-frills place that takes only cash, and has no seating to speak of. The hot dog buns are toasted, and the slaw and chili are pretty good. They also sell in bulk, and have a pricing chart to the effect. Think "Varsity" that only sells hot dogs.

Best hotdog you can get. Don't be fooled by people who say The Varsity is better. The Varsity is gourmet dog food compared to Jimmie's. Jimmie's is simply the best.

CASH ONLY I've been going to Jimmie's since I was a little kid, my Dad has been going since he was a kid. My favorite until the last year or so used to be order them "All the way" (mustard, chili, and onions on a toasted bun). However, within the last year or so something changed. I think they changed the onions or something, but it isn't as good. That has been a big disappointment but I still give them five stars for their out of this world slaw dog. Toasted bun with slaw and mustard, yes mustard just try it. Amazing! Truthfully, I do still get get some "all the way" and though not as perfect as before, they are still good and a nice contrast to the slaw dawgs. There is a small table or two just outside and around the corner, but unless you like to be asked for money by the local homeless and transits coming from the bus station across the street do yourself a favor and get it to go. Just don't wait too long and let that good toasted bun go to waste. Love me some Jimmie's

I travel around georgia for work quite often and try to eat local. I'm an Atlanta native so the varsity s a pretty regular thing for me.... The varsity does not compare to jimmies!! If you like hotdogs this is the place to go. I've literally never eaten a better hotdog, and the price is outstanding. 3 dogs and a drink for just over $6. Highly recommend this hotdog joint! Really, I can't stress enough how amazing this place is.

Long story short: I loved it! Now...long story. I was in Albany for work and I like to find new restaurants to try, something that Albany is sorely lacking, IMHO. During the week I had tried a few good places, but that day I was in the mood for Hot Dogs. I got out my trusty iphone, look on Yelp and found Jimmie's. It wasn't very far from the workplace so I gave it a shot. The first thing I found out was that Jimmie's doesn't take plastic. Bring CASH! The chili dogs cost about a buck. Please be ready with your order, because before you reach the register, they'll ask you for your order so it will be ready when you pay. The only thing I had a problem with is the onions. I don't know why minced onions are so bitter, but it certainly detracts from the hot dog. I just have to remember each time I come here, which is not often (luckily or unluckily as the case may be, I live in the Atlanta area), I must not get onions. Believe me, they taste just as good without onions. You're going to want to buy a sackful! Enjoy!

This place has... the BEST DAMN HOT DOGS! I am from California but my Dad's side of the family lives in Albany. It is a quaint, little old school place. Stand in line (for there will be one!) And check out the quirky signs. This place has been around forever, and while I am one to get full off of one "regular" hot dog, I could probably chow down 3 of Jimmie's hot dogs!!! Get a pack of them and it won't last long, lol! They are known for their pink color... don't be thrown off. It's just how they roll :) I haven't had the chili dog yet because I can eat them PLAIN. That's how bangin' they are. But next time I'm in Sowega, I'm going to order some!

Everywhere you go in Albany people say, " Go to Jimmie's Hotdogs"; and they are correct. I am a purist in that I get just mustard and ketchup but for the price and taste these dogs are hard to beat. The staff is friendly and the dogs are good.

This place has been a staple of downtown Albany for decades now and it still does not disappoint. They sell in bulk and singles, and they have a pricing chart conveniently located near the register. The buns are toasted here. I like the chili dog with mustard and onions. Those definitely hit the spot. You can customize it any way you like. There's no seating on the inside of the store, but there are a couple of tables outside. Just beware of the homeless people nearby at the bus station.

No trip to Albany GA is complete without a couple of dogs from Jimmies. These are the best no-frills chili dogs you can get. It is a red dog on a toasted bun with chili. It is either "with" or "without" onions that is.
